SERIOUSLY FUCK OFFFFFFF. #I've been short-staffed since I started and it has literally only been me since the new year #I'm supposed to have 3 part-timers to help me but the company refuses to pay a living wage so no one wants to work here #I'm literally doing the work of double my hours NO SHIT I'm not doing any of the manager stuff rn #god forbid I prioritize the customers over the company paperwork #only preempting criticism because she was really harsh on me when I first started #and I don't mind criticism but it has become increasingly clear that no one actually knows what happens in my department #they just know what paperwork I'm supposed to be filing they don't actually know what services we provide... #it's insane honestly. at least my store manager is trying to help out but idk if anyone over her head actually gives a fuck about it lol

YEA LETS GO EX-FRAMING DEPARTMENT they never even got around to teaching me production it was all wrapping and taking orders :/ Idk how it is at other shops but we only had 3 people working the whole frame shop. One person did ALL the frame assembly and us other two handled everything else. Was absolutely not worth $11/hr. man fuck retail. FUCK Design Hub too, if I may

#id come in for my like 4 hour shift and would have to run + close shop which included wrapping #wrapping storing calling for all orders done plus get all yhe frames lined plus unpack and clean up all the new frames coming in all by #all by the end of the night PLUS frame shop had to clean the bathrooms every night #plus actually running the front desk and taking orders and sometimes ppl would take hours picking matts that would cut into the time i had #to have everything else finished PLUS if i for some reason had everything done on time theyd make me run sales floor too #it was insane all the stuff they had me learn for such shit pay like. and #never work michales but never do it around the holidays more important #you will never escape the glitter #all that and my framing manager never got around to teaching me how to assemble a frame. #at least it was nice to hide in the frame shop so i wasnt talking to customers 24/7 but still #customers treat you so horribly like i was sweeping once and this lady comes up to me like saying the bathroom was disgusting right #and i get it. it was always disgusting. but we did clean it every night. anyway its hard when you cant just tell people that 1. #1 we clean them every night so if theres a huge mess in it most likely it was another shopper who pissed on the floor just cuz. #and 2 they only give us a mop and some pine sol to clean the whole 2 bathrooms every night. dont blame me blame michals lol #everything else was just so stupid #i wanna know how many framing department ppl everyone else had because we had 2 part time and 1 full time and i was only there a few months

in the past six weeks i have gotten both a norovirus and now some horrible cold that has lasted over a week. both of these things hit me harder and longer than covid did when i got it. the store in which i work must be an absolute petri dish because i simply did not get sick like this before transferring here. i am so tired.

#hermitcraft #it's used for the phones at my work place that use that default sound to notify that someone is coming to curbside pick up their order #i hate doing that part of the job but i am one of the few people who haven't quit yet that knows how to do that part #cause the store manager won't hire a new person and the department head can't train someone else cause there's no goddamn time to do so #because the department (and entire store tbh) is chronically understaffed and the order picking takes so long

#i don't know how much is too much when it comes to saying this again #but i am so floored by the notes on my go2 painting #i knew with the timing there was a chance it could get traction #but to me traction is getting above a hundred notes #to be nearing 2000 is just blowing me away #i very very very genuinely have no clue what my art 'actually' looks like; i have abysmal self confidence in every department going #so although post traction is so rarely an indicator of anything- it's been super astounding #to see the notes shoot up on that drawing #i've been so nervous with making an inprnt store and getting back into the swing of drawing & posting regularly #and this one silly go2 thing just exploding like it has????? #i've been smiling so much it's crazy #i don't know how or why it's managed so much kindness and interaction but wow!!!!! #i just want to keep saying thank you and also thank you and oh boy thank you!! so much!

#at the first pet store i was a supervisor without the title #bc the role technically didn't exist anymore but my store was big enough that we needed it #the second pet store i was the most knowledgeable in my department so i was the go to person for questions #which also meant i was in charge of fixing things when they went wrong bc none of the actual managers knew how #and then obviously as the only groomer i was in charge of the whole grooming department #and now at my current pet store i'm getting responsibility #i have a safe key. i'm the main person here during the week. i'm in charge of people on the weekend when my manager is gone #it's really weird #i don't really think of myself as a responsible person??? #but apparently i am! #wild #jobs #personal rambles #not stargate

A drawback to small mountain towns is the inevitable couple of times a year when a shortage or supply issue causes empty shelves at the one and only grocery store and the manager scrambles to get some alternatives in stock for basic staples, resulting in weird packaging and unusual options on limited items.  For the last month it’s been single eggs (as in ONE EGG, singular) in a clear deli cup with a lid.  Prior to that it was reusable plastic jugs stacked beside the drinking fountain to be filled by the customer.  This week it’s milk in a small rectangular waxboard carton exactly the size and shape of the soup/stew/stock broth cartons.

We’re getting used to it.

#last week the delivery truck was out of commission #so the store manager and some kid he hired were driving propane tank refills out to people's houses #in a snowstorm #leaving the girl from the floral department in charge of the store #small towns are a trip #double when they're in the mountains because altitude does weird things to people #valleys in the Rockies I'm tellin ya they're all liminal spaces

Fair Nuff so he just gave me a rough estimate #which is SOOO fun so heres to hoping i didnt underpay my credit card. overpay Ill Live itll prob just be a few cents more #AND THEN I HAD TO DO THE AWKWARD THING WHERE I SIGNAL TO THE DESK CLERK TO LET ME IN. AGAIN #but yeah...
