This mystery has gone on for decades and we still aren't closer to the truth! The legend of the infamous D.B. Cooper has puzzled numerous detectives and been the subject of many books, but there still isn't a definitive answer to the question "Who was DB Cooper?"
One person who may fit the profile is Ted B. Braden (1928 - 2007). He had the background and qualifications having served in the 101st Airborne as a paratrooper. He was also a gambler who was often in financial difficulty, and was a risk taker who had a criminal record. His name keeps coming up on lists of possible "Dan Coopers".

recently I went down a DB Cooper rabbit hole & while the case was interesting, i am far more fascinated by the people who are into the DB Cooper case.
they’re all reasonably average people who become feral when the subject of DB Cooper is broached, like unsolved crime werewolves on the conspiracy full moon
i joined a Facebook group full of them just to watch and observe & im so fascinated. yes yes, let’s speculate on what DB Cooper’s Spotify playlist would be. how fun is that??? the guy jumped out of a plane once, i’m sure he would’ve had a plane hijacking playlist that includes Tom Petty’s “Free-falling”. i love watching the one guy still actively pursuing the case argue with himself about the proof he personally found not lining up with his own theory about DB Cooper’s true identity. Fuck yes King go OFF
im obsessed, enthralled. this is the reason i stay in the PNW. where else can you accidentally end up in the same brewery as people from a Facebook true crime conspiracy group and see your friends in the background of the photo they post in that wild group. answer: nowhere. i love DB Cooper fans. im a DB Cooper Enthusiast enthusiast.

Collins Aerospace completes integration of the NP2000 system in Chilean C-130
The company is under contract with FACh to update all variants of the C-130 aircraft.

Collins Aerospace completes the integration of the NP2000 propeller system into the first C-130 aircraft of the Chilean Air Force. (Photo: Collins Aerospace)
This is the first international C-130 Hercules aircraft that was updated with Collins' NP2000 system.
The company is under contract with the Chilean Air Force to upgrade all variants of its existing fleet of C-130 aircraft built by Lockheed Martin, including the C-130E, C-130B, C-130H and KC-130R models.
“This installation of the NP2000 complete propeller system marks the first international modernization of the C-130 for the Chilean Air Force,” said the senior director of Collins Aerospace Propeller Systems, Quinlan Lyte. "Our innovative NP2000 system incorporates sophisticated and state-of-the-art technologies designed to increase efficiency and increase aircraft availability, as well as reduce fatigue and crew safety.
Compared to conventional propeller systems, the new NP2000 propeller systems offer a wide range of benefits, such as a sound reduction of almost 20 db in the aircraft cockpit, about a 20% thrust increase during takeoff and a 50% reduction in general maintenance hours.

With the NP2000, users can remove and replace the individual blades of the aircraft in the wing, without the need to remove the entire propeller system.
The new NP2000 system has eight composite blades and an electronic propeller control system.
The company's NP2000 propellers are currently in service with several C-130 aircraft of the international air forces, as well as in Northrop Grumman's E-2 and C-2 aircraft.
The New York National Air Guard recently tested the NP2000 T56-A-15A turboprop engines with the only LC-130 aircraft equipped with U.S. Air Force ski.
Collins also plans to equip the NP2000 propeller system on the P-3 Orion aircraft.

ooooh sorry darling I didn't see this ask last night! I'll take a stab at it today!
🔮 Any advice for writers working through burnout or writer’s block?
Oh I'm so very probably not the person to ask this.... Nobody look at the pile of WIPs sitting in the corner booth casting accusatory looks my direction as I play with a new cast of characters. Ooooh. But maybe being willing to play with new WIPs and concepts and characters is the way to battle back against a blockage? (I've also taken to muttering: holy shit two cakes.)
🚀 Do you like to outline your fic first or create as you go?
I tend towards a mixture of both, at least when I've gotten something that's gripped me in a way that pulls me towards something more than a blurb or (ahem, extended) oneshot. Usually the case is that I'll have these moments of dialogue or plot points that establish the arc, and I'll scribble those down in a doc or notebook just to see if sleeping on it will change the sequencing. From there I tend to let the characters take the wheel and see if they'll cooperate or venture off on a plot of their making. (... this is not necessarily a path to being sane/ method I would recommend if you need structure and for the characters to follow it exactly as you maneuver towards the middle and end, but it's fun all the same.)
🍬 Do you write for multiple fandoms? If yes, what is your favorite fic of yours for each fandom?
I live in fear of the form of media I consume that pulls characters from the screen or page and they set up camp in my head. That being said, it's so much fun to greet new characters and figure out what story I want to tell from them/that particular fandom. Currently still have running ... we'll call them major WIPs... in the following fandoms: Tom Hiddleston (including characters/ AU versions of the actor), Chris Evans (including characters/ AU versions of the actor), Daniel Brühl (including characters/ AU versions of the actor, two of which haven't been posted yet). *I do play in other fandoms with little blurbs but haven't been sucked into creating full stories... yet*
Fav TWH fic is a tough one cause I adore the various works for different reasons. I'm in an angsty mood today so let's go with Unsettled.
Fav CRE fic is A Turn of the Knife, cause Ransom is a menace.
Fav posted DB fic is LJH... The Baron & The Dove? No... wait... Who We Were Before. Cause reasons.
💕 What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?
I could sooner pluck a star from the heavens than point at any single one and say that one above all others. There's too much of me in each of them.
💛 What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned about writing?
Forever and always learning, but I think thus far it's: enjoy the journey. Do the research, make the gifsets, compile the photos and songs that inspire words or just remind you of the characters. It's not time wasted because it brings you joy.

(Forgive the older picture of the girls - I need to get a more updated "Squad" photo soon)
I've been taking my mom some eggs from the girls and she stated that the eggs all had different flavors (she's been doing them hardboiled). My husband and I have been doing them as fried or scrambled in sandwiches but after Jasper and DB Cooper's first eggs, we hadn't tried them fried or scrambled without any seasoning (just because my husband and I are used to doing wild things with seasonings).
Taste test results and image IDs under the cut.
So we went over to my mom's with a dozen eggs on Sunday and set up a taste test, throwing in one of her store bought eggs from when we weren't able to get together last week.
The results:
Cleo (an Easter Egger, lays the gigantic green egg)- strong rich flavor, creamy - to note, she is our smallest hen but lays the largest eggs at about 64 grams.
Olivia Warbawks (a Black Copper Marans, lays the dark brown egg) - mild flavor, not as creamy. Still amazing though
Bernadotte Peters (a Gold Laced Wyandotte, lays the larger light brown egg)- between Cleo and Olivia in flavor and creaminess
DickButt "D. B." Cooper (a Blue Laced Barnevelder, lays the medium brown egg - her name came from a friend)- Bright, strong, mustardy. Had a nice aftertaste on the back of the tongue.
Jasper (a Buff Orpington, lays the smallest, light brown egg)- Creamy, somehow Sweet?!
Store bought (white egg)- no.
I should also add they all seem to have their own favorite forage foods so maybe that's what led to a difference in egg flavor. It's going to be interesting when watermelon and flower season start up again for the girls!

Social media has significantly improved cooperation and communication among human beings worldwide. Prior to the internet, communication was geographically difficult. However, it has accelerated the sharing of photos, videos and written text throughout the world. These are easily accessed via smart phones, laptops and computers through the internet. Through the internet, social media has the platforms of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. The most popular of the three is Facebook. It has on the average 1.52 billion active users. Additionally, in December of 2018, it had 2.32 monthly active users. As for Twitter, in October of 2016, it had 326 million subscribers, according to Ng (2020). YouTube is the major video sharing platform. It has over a billion users. In the space of one hour, millions of videos are watched on it. In short, social media has brought the world closer together by creating a feeling of belonging through the various platforms which are connected together on the internet.

well my first thought was FOREARMS followed closely by ELBOWS then came a resounding NATURAL HAAAIIIRRRRR NO MORE GREASY PLASTIC WIG
um. yeah. I’m excited! But also very worried and cautious. I’m afraid this show is going to continue to ignore the trauma that he really needs to have—they better point out and work from the spot where this should pick up. if we’re going off of endgame, then we should have the Loki that comes after avengers, meaning the Loki who just found out about being jotun/adopted, tried to destroy a planet, fought his brother and was rejected by his dad, attempted suicide, fell into thanos’s control, was basically mind controlled, and attacked New York.
Forget ragnarok and dark world, I need to see that Loki. I hope for full identity crisis (not sexual identity crisis tho tbh, like we love to see it YES, but like. That’s not this Loki? I think a love interest is the LAST thing on his mind, and I really hope they don’t reduce him to a horny “oh he’s just mischievous” kind of guy yknow. idk I just don’t think they’ll do it well I’m kinda scared lolol he has much more depth than that and I hope we see that depth). I want Loki off the rails and HURTING
On that note, pls no love interest plEASE no love interest—it just doesn’t make sense??! Idk. Like I’m open for it if they do it WELL but I haven’t been pleased with anything they’ve done with his character since avengers lmao sooo I don’t have my hopes up. What I would LOVE to see is some friends for him :’) maybe some found family? And Loki traveling back to a happy memory back on asgard, maybe he goes and gets a nice pep talk from Frigga (*cough* the one she gave thor in endgame)
umm what else...101% here for the Loki is DB Cooper theory, I’d LOVE to see him travel back to ancient times, vote Loki always, ugh I just hope he goes CRAZY and is HURTING UNDERNEATH IT and finds some comfort for himself.
Overall I’m excited for the content we’re gonna get! I’m nervous for the writing and what they’re going to do with the character, but also a teeny tiny bit hopeful. not much tho.

Loki: Theories For The TV Shows (I Think I Know Who The Main Villain Is?)
With the show Loki coming out in May, let’s look at what we know about it, and my personal theories.
1). I have absolutely no clue what the elevator buttons say. In the middle, though, the numbers FE3, 2WE, LK3, and 3FG form a pattern.
So FE3 and LK3 both go letter in the alphabet, previous letter, 3. 2WE and 3FG are reversed, going 3, letter, following letter. Obviously 2WE doesn’t follow this pattern. As the lone outlier with a 2 instead of 3, there is a solution. Replace the E with the letter in the middle, X, and it follows the pattern, assuming you then change the two to the three. I have no clue what this means, and it could just be a coincidence.
2). Loki is not DB Cooper. In the trailer, we see Loki dressed as DB Cooper.
DB Cooper is infamous for holding a plane hostage with a bomb, getting $200,000 ransom, and then jumping out the back of a plane. Loki clearly imitates this, but he is not the DB Cooper in our timeline. Loki is clearly one to two rows from the back, but DB Cooper sat in the very back. We have to assume that Loki is imitating Cooper, not that he is him from this. (Either that or Marvel has some serious historical inaccuracies).
3). I may know who Sophia Di Martino is playing. This is a total theory, but it is speculated that she may play Lady Loki or some form of villain. I don’t think she is Lady Loki, but rather another villain from Loki’s past. In the canon YA novel titled Loki: Where Mischief Lies, we are introduced to Amora. She can use magic, like Loki, and is training to become the Royal Sorceress of Asgard, who is basically the most powerful magic-wielder on Asgard. She is exiled to the human world after some misdemeanors, where she is confronted by Loki and begins to nearly die after raising an army of the dead because she wants to take over Asgard. What is interesting is that she touches a magical amplifier which restores her strength, at least temporarily, before she flies off a train and vanishes. It is never established that she actually died, and her dead-army enchantment is still in effect after her “demise.” This leads me to the conclusion that Amora, who was to become the Royal Sorceress of Asgard, is the villainess being played by Sophia Di Martino. (the character in the trailer in the cloak who drops the lantern). Here are some pieces of evidence to support this theory.
1). Sophia Di Martino fits the age and description for Amora, and seems like she has the acting talent to pull off “crazed homicidal exiled Asgardian.” Her costume could also work with Amora’s character, as seen in the set photos.
2). Amora, as apprentice to become Royal Sorceress of Asgard, had access to items in the Asgardian vault, maybe even the Tesseract, which could grant her a time-hopping ability, or she could have found the Tesseract or other forms of time-travel while on Earth. She “died” in 19th century Earth, and since Asgardians are immortal, could have spent 200 years trying to return home or change her fate.
3). Amora had the ability to see the future using various devices. She could have forseen her fate or Loki’s fate at some point, resulting in a decision for her to find ways to access or change the timeline.
4). It is never specified that Amora is dead.
5). The synopsis of the book is not on the official Marvel fan page, rather just the publisher’s description. This is suspicious, because it is a canon book and the descriptions of such things are almost always on fan pages. (cough cough Wookiepeedia cough cough)
6). Amora was kind of a “female” version of Loki in that they were both magic wielders, and she made him into the anti-hero we know today. Plus this would focus on Loki’s magical power, something that was glossed over in the movies and made comic book fans angry. The “female Loki” theory has been a long-standing one, and this would kind of tie in to that.
7). Amora was the one who convinced Loki to wear green, and we see the color green very heavily in the trailer.
8). Amora would make sense from a character standpoint. Because Loki has not undergone the majority of his redemption arc, he needs something to make him a more likable hero/anti-hero. Having his former love interest be the villain would be a good way to do that.
9). The author of the book is writing two more, one to be released in 2021 about “other anti-heroes.” Since the release date is most likely to be after the show airs, one of them could be about Amora and her journey through Earth, especially since the author hasn’t been able to talk about who the main characters are.
10). This could also have ties to the Young Avengers, in which Amora appears as a teenager with magic. There could be a lot of different plot lines which allow her to come back.
My theory goes one of three ways in terms of main plot for the show. One is that Amora wants to kill Loki because he almost killed her and foiled her plans, and he has to escape her. The second is that Amora is wreaking havoc in the timeline, and that Loki, as a fellow Asgardian, has to track her down. The third is the most interesting, and I think the most likely. Amora and Loki team up to save Asgard before its destruction in Ragnarok, thus saving Loki’s life and allowing Amora to take over. (But Loki won’t let Amora take over) Along the way, they have to evade the TVA. This could also tie up to Thor: Love and Thunder, or any of the other MCU shows if there is blatant time-stream hopping. They could also change the timeline enough to result in some Thanos showdowns or any number of showdowns, which could be tied to other shows and/or movies. This would also be a fun adventure and definitely fit in with Loki’s character, allowing for double-crosses and trickery at every turn. It is also important to keep in mind the trailer only shows the first few episodes, as is pretty standard. Look at any of The Mandalorian trailers, and most events happen by episode 2-3, with one hook from a later episode. At any rate, I am looking forward to the show.

Skip, Julie here. The Wimbledon photo. Has someone got the video. In the video you will see Cressida Bonas (CB) and her older sister Pandora Cooper-Key walk past. Douglas Booth (DB) stands up as they pass. Pandora first then CB. When they’re seated it looks like Julia De Boinville between CB and DB. MM watches almost mesmerised when CB walks to her seat. I think that is Douglas Booth asking MM if she belonged there. Apparently that’s Violet von Westenholz on MMs right. 1/2
2. Skip, Julie here. Wimbledon 2016. After the photo where she was near Cressida at Wimbledon she moved into the box with Serena Williams family. She shows more cleavage and takes the hat off ( no hats at Wimbledon). Now that is Hilarious. She plonked herself in the middle of Serena’s mother and another family member. Then moved to behind at back of box next to Anna Wintour and her daughter. This was just in front of Pippa Middleton. They had no idea who she was. They all ignored her.

I'm up at our family Riverhouse for a few days. The top photo is the view from the kitchen. There aren't a lot of of crows on the river but I've been watching a pair of them fly up and down the banks. The beer was Ian B''s. I picked because where the riverhouse exists in Washington is near where DB Cooper jumped from the plane with a parachute after receiving $200,000 in a sky jacking in 1971.
I spent last night assembling more witchy zines while watching Brad and Claire on Bon Appétit test kitchen make sourdoughnuts. I love the goofy personalities in the text kitchen. There's one of those "which are you" memes about it. My brain is writing fanfic about Brad finding out about the meme and annoying everyone in the kitchen about it.

DB-33 For Me.
What? Haha yeah. So. I’ve wanted one of these for ages but every time I’ve found one on the auction, or for sale somewhere online, they’ve always been a bit too pricey. I mean, it’s nothing but an analog metronome. Ok, a 5-voice analog metronome made by Roland in the late 70s/early 80s but still. Anyway, I’ve been spending about half an hour to an hour every day after work in the lower grade music room all by my lonesome practicing taiko, using an old-school wind-up metronome (complete with swinging arm and the whole works) and was getting tired of having to re-wind the thing every five minutes, so I thought I’d look for a battery-powered deal and I found not one but two DB-33s for cheap. The first one, featured in this post, cost a whopping one fucking yen. Yes, one yen! That’s like one cent. Shipping was five bucks, but still. It was listed as “junk” and the description said “not tested... as-is” so I thought fuck it either I’ll get it to work again if it’s broke or no big deal, I mean ONE FUCKING YEN?!?! C’mon, how can I refuse? Anyway, after it arrived, I tried it out using both a battery and a wall wart, and it was intermittently working. It would start, but then stop and not start up again unless you turned it off and on again. The volume pot was scratchy as fuck. The BEAT selector slider was also sketchy. Ok, let’s take it apart.
Pretty simple but straight to the point construction. And pretty solid considering its age. I had to rebuild two of the screw posts as they fell apart when I disassembled the case to get at the guts but that was easy enough. I semi-fixed the volume pot just by cycling the thing from min to max about a hundred times. Did the same with the BEAT slider and it mostly cooperates now. The tempo dial was pretty dirty, and when I took it off to get at the nut that secured the actual tempo pot itself to the front case, part of the bit that holds the dial onto the pot shaft fell off, and I saw that a previous owner had attempted to fix that with super glue, which had hazed the clear plastic. I fixed the dial thing while I was gluing the screw posts back together and all was well. Yesterday I had some free time so I thought I’d give the thing a final repair session. I cleaned the super glue haze off the dial using toothpaste (not the gel type, regular paste shit) and a Q-tip. Then I disassembled the volume pot and gave it a thorough cleaning and a wee spray of Deoxit. Works perfectly now. I also thought (as with every other goddam thing I own) it would look cooler with different colored LEDs so I took out the factory red ones and put yellow ones in. That was a pain because of how the factory LEDs are soldered in—not through-hole standard, oh no, that would’ve been too easy, I really should’ve taken a photo, but to get standard LEDs to fit I had to use a 1mm drill bit and enlarge the slots (yes, slots!) in the LED PCB so that the legs would fit through and allow the LED to be seated flush with the PCB. Anyhow, it all worked out in the end and here’s the volume pot all taken apart:
Dunno if you can see it or not but the bracket (upper right) says ALPS JAPAN. I cleaned the shit outta the business part of the pot, carefully scraping off corrosion and dirt with a precision hobby knife, then gently bent the little fingers up a tad so they’d make better contact with the resistive strip on the wafer (middle bottom). Reassembled it, resoldered it, and that was that. Not a hint of crackle now. Here’s a photo of the thing after it was all done:
