Hedcor Aid to Mindanao Medical Centers
Tumblr media
Hedcor and Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. donate much-needed medical supplies, equipment and furniture worth P350,000 to two newly refurbished sub-health centers in Sitio Centro Pogpog and Lib-in, Barangay Sibulan, Municipality of Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur. In 2021, Hedcor and Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. successfully implemented the repair of the sub-health centers. As a continuing project, the health centers receive promotional equipment, appliances, clinic beds, tables, drawers, medicines and other medical equipment that will strengthen the health care services and make it more accessible, usable and available to the community, especially the indigenous community in the province. Hedcor President and COO Rolando Pacquiao acknowledged the health workers for their unrelenting service in the community. “Our health workers need sufficient supplies and reliable equipment to provide quality health services to patients and residents of Barangay Sibulan and nearby areas. These donations will definitely aid the operations of the health facilities, strengthen the health system and be able to better respond to the health needs of the community," said Pacquiao.   Santa Cruz Municipal Health Officer Dr. Raygene Manuel shared that the barangay health workers (BHW) feel blessed to receive Hedcor and Aboitiz Foundation's donations that will be used to help their constituents. Dr. Raygene Manuel, said: “We know that not all communities were given this kind of health assistance, and we are truly fortunate to receive these. I am proud to say that our BHWs are very dedicated and always ready to be of service.”   Meanwhile, in the Province of Bukidnon, Hedcor turns over to the Municipality of Impasugong its Health Center's completed covered pathway worth P250,000 as part of Hedcor and the local government unit's commitment to putting health a priority. The covered pathway is beneficial in a healthcare environment. It is used as a linkway between the regional health unit's building, providing staff, patients and visitors a dry journey and shelter from bad weather especially those who came from far-flung areas. 13 barangays in the Municipality of Impasugong are availing the Rural Health Unit services. Municipal Mayor Anthony Uy said the completion of the covered pathway is one of the testaments of Hedcor's commitment to the health system enhancement initiatives of the municipality and the general welfare of the locals. Mayor Anthony Uy, shared: "This is a milestone being undertaken by the local government unit and Hedcor to ensure that the health services and the health needs of Impasugong are given utmost importance."   And to improve the delivery of health services, barangay and municipal health workers in Bukidnon and Davsur will receive refresher courses on how to respond to health emergency situations from Department of Health (DOH) and Municipal Health Office representatives. "May these regenerative projects continue to strengthen our relationship with our community in pursuit of transforming energy for a better world," said Hedcor President and COO Rolando Pacquiao. Hedcor is the renewable energy subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corporation.
About the Hedcor Group
Hedcor Group has been generating renewable energy from run-of-river hydropower systems for over four decades, making it a leading hydropower operator in the Philippines. With 22 hydropower plants under its management, the group currently supplies the country with more than 278 MW of clean and sustainable energy. By providing power generation that is least disruptive to the environment, Hedcor is helping communities and businesses achieve a better and greener tomorrow. With its commitment to sustainability and renewable energy, Hedcor is indeed a company worth recognizing.
About the Aboitiz Foundation
The Aboitiz Foundation is a testament to the Aboitiz Group’s commitment to corporate philanthropy. Spanning over a century, the group’s legacy of giving back has been instilled and passed on through generations. One of its first leaders, Don Ramon Aboitiz, initiated corporate philanthropy efforts and prioritized the welfare of the company’s employees. As the Aboitiz Group diversified into multiple businesses, its commitment to giving back grew as well. While the group gave to various causes informally for decades, it realized the need for a more efficient and effective way of giving. Thus, the Aboitiz Foundation came into existence to better assist areas where the company operates. Today the organization has given out around 36,000 scolarships and benefited nearly 4 million people though philanthropy.   Sources: THX News, Aboitiz Foundation, Hedcor Group & The Philippine News Agency. While in PH I came there on September 24 for my personal trip. But I’ve decided to upload the Davao City pics as a part of it. The reason why I came to Davao was supposedly to see our Former President Duterte going around and to be taken a pic with them, however it’s no avail and I’ve decided to go on my own. I could even bare my phone and cam anywhere there, for this is the one of the safest cities in the Philippines, and no one who dare to steal it. And also, I like their culture there not for being “Bisdak” (Cebuano words of “Bisaya” means Visayan and “Dako” means big, in their term means how genuine Visayans are), but ethnically diverse as Mindanaoans. Remember: as tourists, never smoke anywhere, and do bad things there. That’s all for now. Davao: life is here! Open Letter 12
You know at some point of my life, I'm at the edge of something people don't know. I never say Yes or No just for nothing, when I stood my ground kabalo ko nga naa koy ginatindogan. This is not really an open letter, rather maybe a bit of confession 101. I am really active involving myself to church ministries not because good works is ticket to heaven, but rather being thankful and graceful because of what the Lord has done in my life. I always did my best, my commitments, i tried to work out my time, really manage my activities to fit it all in, because the very reason is that I am thankful . And i'm not just thankful sa Ginoo, I want to make a change. I want to be part of something big. I want to be part someone else's lives, to help, to encourage, to comfort someone.
But days passed by me everything changed. It started when someone tricked me, kay ako man ang treasurer sa kato nga ministry. My new voluntary job, wala ni gitarong og take over sa ako. I thought easy lang tanan. Ang giingon lang sa ako mag liquidate and mag-buhat og replenishment. And i did that, the way they wanted it to be. I am always aiming for on time submission of documents, most of the time mao na akong ginabuhat because I want it to be like that oraganize, ing-ana ko magpasalamat sa Ginoo sa tanan grasya na iyang gihatag sa ako. But some people ( sana nga untentional) tricked me and i can say they played with my innocence. Na hapit pa ako ang napatawag kay mali ang data. Alangan wala ko naga doubt asa nako ginahatag ang kwarta because we are all working together hand in hand sa church. I was shocked when i heard about this. And everything just started there.
Being a part of the leadership, i don't really see it personally as an entitlement to grasp on, to cling on, to depend on. I always viewed it as accountability and responsibility to pass on. And as i viewed it like that, i believe that it is " OUR"  duty to be fruitful. Fruitful not in a scope of individualism, but a church-wide kind of thing. Fruitful in our vision and mission of our church.
For me, we are fruitless. Nagapataba lang mi sa among kaugalingon. I don't really see us, our programs and activities really sustaining us: there is no growth & progress. There's no legacy kung asa magpasa kag baton para naa na say next leader. Gina appoint pa sa higher power kung kinsa ang dapat maging leader. Ano kayo divine appointment? Why not try seminars/trainings and doon magsala ng tao. Kadaghan og tao diha sa church nga naay abilities. But wala sila natagaan og chance kay lahi ang phase sa church. It's like we're stuck and diha ko nalibug why those people don't see this coming or maskin karon ngano wala nila ni nakita.  I don't see us calling to God. I don't us doing church ministries for the very reason of God, to spread out His redemption. Speakers most of the time talk about how to be good. Well duh, we aren't good enough and will never forever will. Maskin pag ihungit nimo sa iya nga dili magpakasala, magpakasal gihapon.
I can't also blame us for this kind of system, kasi we're just in the lower hierarchy, we don't make rules, we submit to rules. And these things make me so discouraged and question myself what are we doing ? Most of us, we're wasting our time. Mao na kapoyan ko mag sigeg attend, mag sige hatag sa akong opinion, kapoyan mo kanta. For me everything we do is so empty and nakapoyan nako e-tolerate ang tanan, submitting to the system na kadaghan pa natog pwede mabuhat. Kasagaran nalang nato ginabuhat kay pattern and money circling things. And we thought having extravagant events are really making us successful as a church. Really ? Hearing those words to some high position on our church, makes me mooore tired. How come success be measured by extravagance and events fulfilled ? But what about the result ? Still fruitless.
My heart breaks every time mag gastos og budget nga walay padulngan, gigamit ang budget para e lingaw lingaw, ang description sa budget kay A pero ang gibuhat kay B. Og wala ko kasabot ngano naa silay right na buhaton na. I tried my best na e report ni nga behavior, kay ikapila nani ginabuhat gahi gihapon og ulo. Pero maskin ang admin is tolerating every single thing. This is the church money we're talking about. And everytime ginabuhat nila na mawad-an kog gana sa akong pagka treasurer. hello, accountability are you there? I don't wanna join them. That's not my idealogy, and here I am giving them money to so called activities kuno.
I am torn between myself and the reality nga naa ko. I am just so tired sa mga kadramahan nila. ana sila, thru thick and think maningkamot ta mo rise up. But I don’t think they’re doing effort to rise up. They’re just sitting down eating pop corn. So tired that I can't even move, i don't want to speak. I don't want to be connected. Wala koy nakita ang ginabuhat nako kay naa pay purpose. kapoyan pud kog ing-ani oy. my time is also precious. And when the purpose is gone, i don't want to be part of it. Dili ko ganahan mahimong part anang inyong mga kadramahan. Kamo ba wala mo gikapoy ? You're not running a business, but a church that should a hospital for the un-redeemed. This is not an empire. We are not bayarans and that sugoun lng mi. this is not bureaucracy, naay patterns. This is Church. And still here we are.
If i’m wrong, then help me be awaken. but for now that’s how i observe things from a view point of myself.
Lord please save us

It was December 15. Mom had to attend an event 2 hours away from #DavaoCity and I asked to be left behind to wander and have a #foodtrip /restaurant-hopping day alone. It was drizzling outside but I still went on with my plan. . . A little past 2:30 in the afternoon, I was at my third #restaurant, Bramble, and I was about to order when I felt like my table and chair were being pushed back and forth. I got dizzy very quickly. The lights started to flicker as we realized it was an #earthquake. It blacked out inside #Bramble and the staff led us outside. The shaking lasted around 30 seconds. I called my mom to see if she was okay but my call was left unanswered. I was starting to worry. . . The power went back on and when we were sure that the earthquake had stopped, we were ushered inside. The waiter proceeded to take my order. . . Halfway through my meal, the same thing happened, another earthquake which lasted shorter than the first. I was still drinking and had my glass with me when the staff asked us to evacuate again. I called my mom for the second time. Apparently, they were near the epicenter so the tremors were stronger where they were but that they were all safe, thank God. . . We, the staff and the customers, waited outside for a good 10 minutes after the tremors had stopped. While waiting, I asked one of the waiters to snap a photo to remind me of this day. That's the story behind this photo. . . I paid for my meal and tried to look for the next #café on my list but even the locals haven't heard of it and it was still raining so I decided to go back to the hotel. I watched the news and found out that an intensity 6.9 earthquake hit #DavaoDelSur, which Davao City is a part of. Classes and offices were suspended. . . I was only able to breathe a sigh of relief around 7pm when my mom and her team got back. We talked about it over dinner and called it a night. I don't pray a lot but it took an earthquake to jolt me into prayer that night. I prayed and thanked God for keeping us safe. I prayed for everyone's safety and hoped that the aftershocks would be faint and that everyone would get to spend Christmas with their loved ones. 🙏🏻✨ . . Davao del Sur Funding P21.8M Community Funding from Hedcor
Tumblr media
Hedcor continues to intensify its support to the local government units (LGUs) and host communities in the province of Davao del Sur by releasing P21,794 million worth of community shares generated from the total attributable energy sales of Sibulan A, Sibulan B, Tudaya 1, and Tudaya 2 hydropower plants from last year. Hedcor President and COO Rolando G. Pacquiao said the community shares are part of Hedcor's commitment to be a catalyst for development and change for a more sustainable future for the country.   Hedcor President and COO Rolando G. Pacquiao said: “Hedcor strongly supports inclusive growth in its host communities aside from generating employment opportunities for local workers. We hope that these will be used for the communities to keep pace with developments."   Of the total amount, P6.2 million each went to the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur and the Municipality of Santa Cruz, while an amount of P260,000 was given to Digos City. In addition, host barangays in Santa Cruz also received their shares; consisting of P2 million for Barangay Darong, P1.5 million for Barangay Sibulan, and P260,000 for Barangay Astorga.

Cruz, KAPIID KA BANUA, INC. and Tudaya Falls Tribal Association. LGU and tribal leaders alike gave assurances that the funds would be spent to further develop their respective communities.   Municipality of Santa Cruz Mayor Nelson "Tata" Sala, lauding Hedcor’s commitment to its promise of advancing business and communities. He said: "I assure AboitizPower and Hedcor that (the Municipality of) Santa Cruz will be your solid partner today and, in the years, to come." "We will use the grant to purchase patient transport vehicles to further improve our services to the community during emergency cases," he added.   Meanwhile, Davao del Sur Governor Yvonne R. Cagas said most of their shares will be prioritized for education.   "The largest portion of the grant will be allocated to the province's education programs because the LGU and Hedcor believe that investing in children means we are investing in our future," the governor stated.   The recent releases brought the total amount received by contiguous LGUs and IP groups to P156 million since 2010 when Hedcor started releasing the revenue shares to them.
