Don’t mind me…just thinking about how this is what Danny looks like when he’s jerking off in front of you - soft moans spilling out of his mouth, his hips thrusting upwards to follow his hand.
“Please baby…please.”
“Please what? I don’t thinking I know what you’re talking about.” You arch an eyebrow up at him from your spot on the velvet chair placed in the corner of the room - a blush rising to your cheeks as Danny keeps intense eye contact with you, his breath coming out in short pants, signaling he’s close.
“Please baby…let me cum. Please. I’ve been so good for you.”

Hiraeth - Danny Wagner x FReader
Tumblr media
Hiraeth: a deep longing for a home to which you cannot return
Summary: You thought life would hurt less if you broke off your painful long distance relationship, but it turns out that’s quite the opposite, and now you have to fight to reclaim the home you once had in him.
Warnings(i guess?): language, breakup, angst to comfort, happy ending bc I’m a softie
“You can’t lay in bed forever. Your boss is bound to fire your ass if you don’t get it together, babe.”
You looked up at your best friend as she stood above you. She was right. You were a grown woman, and here you were wallowing in bed over a breakup that happened two weeks ago.
“Just leave me alone. I appreciate you trying to help, but I just need to be alone.” You grumbled and rolled over.
Things had been okay for a while. Right after the breakup, you had went about life as normal. That lasted for about a week. Then you started realizing that you felt so much worse than you had before you ended your two year relationship with Danny.
It made sense to breakup. He was a drummer in a famous band, which meant he was always gone, and you felt the connection between the two of you fading. It took a lot of debating, but you finally came to the conclusion that you should end it.
Now you were starting to think maybe the connection hadn’t been fading, but you had just stopped trying to make it work.
“Please just get dressed and go get some coffee with me. I need to see you get out of the apartment. You’ve been holed up in here for a week.” Your friend pleaded.
“Are you really not going to leave me alone?” You sighed, turning to face her again.
“Nope.” She stated firmly. She was a law student, and very very good at getting her way.
“Fine.” You pulled the cover back and crawled out of bed. “Let’s get a coffee then.”
She grimaced and scanned your rumpled appearance. “How about you shower and change first?”
You looked down at yourself and accepted that she was right again. Another wave of sadness hit you as you thought about how you let yourself get in this state. You had to fix things.
An hour later, you were showered and dressed and on your way to get coffee. You made sure to put some effort into your appearance because you thought it might make you feel better. It didn’t, but at least you didn’t look as bad as you felt.
“Isn’t this better than staying in a fetal position under your comforter?” Your friend sighed and took a sip of her iced latte.
You shrugged and sipped your own drink. “I don’t know. I guess.”
She shook her head. “You can’t keep wallowing. I love you, but this is not healthy.”
“I’m not wallowing!” You fumed, but she raised and eyebrow and you caved. “Okay, maybe I’m wallowing, but what else am I supposed to do? I royally fucked up with Danny, and now I go home to an empty apartment from a job I hate, and I feel so lost. I don’t know what my endgame is anymore.”
“I keep saying you should call him! If you feel this bad and you genuinely think the breakup was a mistake, you two should talk about it. At the very least, you’ll have closure.” She folded her arms and leaned back in her chair.
You ignored the growing uneasiness in your stomach. “I don’t think I can just call him up and say ‘sorry I dumped you, but I still love you and I fucked up’ out of the blue.”
Your friend leaned over and put a hand on your arm. “Listen, babe, I’m gonna level with you right now. I have not liked any of the guys you’ve dated before, except for Danny. He’s a good one, and if you think there’s a chance to save things and if that’s what you really want, I think you should try.”
“But it’ll still be long distance, and clearly that didn’t work before.” You huff.
“I’m not going to tell you how you should conduct your relationships, but I will say that he did make an effort to visit you and call you. I know you, and I know that you like to shut down when you’re hurting. When you called me and said you felt like you were in a rough patch, I could tell that you were already telling yourself it was over. All I’m saying is that if you both really try, I think maybe you could make it work.”
You looked down at the drink in your hands. She did have a point about the shutting down. It was a defense mechanism that you put in place after one too many douchebags treated you like shit, but it honestly wasn’t fair that you deployed it on Danny.
He sent you flowers when he couldn’t be home in person. He called you almost every day, and texted if he couldn’t. He flew home to see you as often as possible. He was a good person. You were just scared.
You couldn’t be scared if you wanted him back. He felt like home to you, and you’d never felt so alone with him gone. If you wanted to change things, you had to fight. What was that thing his brother Josh liked to say? ‘Fuck fear…’ something something? Whatever, you just had to be brave and go fix the mess you made.
——————
That’s how, several hours later, you found yourself just outside of Nashville. The drive was long, but you were a little grateful it gave you some time to plan your speech. You would’ve bought a plane ticket, but you couldn’t really drain your savings, so the drive it was.
Danny had a place near Nashville, like the rest of the band. He didn’t stay there too often, only when he had work. He mostly stayed at your apartment when he was off, but you still knew where to find his place. You just hoped he’d be there when you showed up.
You pulled in the driveway and shut off the engine. Before you could talk yourself out of it, you forced your door open and made yourself walk up to the door. You came all this way to talk to him, and you couldn’t let yourself get too in your head.
You rang the bell and waited. There was a long moment of silence, but then you heard a light shuffling inside. You knew you should’ve been relieved that he was home, but your heart seized up.
It’s just Danny. You’ve talked to him for thousands of hours. You love him. No matter how many times you repeated that in your head, you still felt like you could either pass out or burst into tears.
The door swung open and you were met with the sharp brown eyes of the man you still loved.
“Hi,” you croaked, practiced speech immediately leaving your head.
As he stared at you, his eyes seemed to soften slightly. God, you loved his eyes. Oddly enough, you even missed them.
“What do you want?” He practically whispered.
You swallowed thickly. It seemed you were leaning closer to the burst into tears side of things, and you were trying so hard not to do that. “To talk. If that’s okay.”
He nodded and stepped aside so you could enter. He shut the door quietly and led you into his living room. It seemed a little messier than usual, and it looked like maybe he’d been sleeping on the couch.
“Do you, uh, need anything? I’m guessing you drove and I know it’s a long trip.” He asked.
“No, I’m good.” You shook your head, trying to keep your voice from quivering.
He sat down on the chair opposite yours and leaned forward with his elbows on his knees. “So what did you want to talk about?”
You hated how nervous you were, and how unprepared and scattered it was making you feel. “I just…I don’t know where to even start…I guess I should start with I’m sorry. I’m so sorry Dan, I’ve never regretted anything more in my life. I ran from you instead of talking. I’ve been a shitty girlfriend, and that wasn’t fair. I’m just so sorry for all of it…and I miss you. I miss you so badly that I don’t know why I thought ending things would fix my hurting. I messed everything up so much, and I wish more that anything that I wouldn’t have…wouldn’t have…have left…”
You broke off the end of your rant unwillingly as sobs took over and you couldn’t keep going. You felt pathetic, and you were sure that’s what he was thinking too. Here you were, having driven all the way to Nashville, groveling and crying in his living room. He had to think you were a crazy ass mess.
In the midst of your mental spiral, you felt the seat dip down next to you. Warm, strong arms wrapped around you and pulled you close. Danny didn’t say anything for a while. He just held you against his chest and let you cry, which you honestly needed.
“I miss you too.” He murmured into your hair.
You pulled back enough to look up at him. “You do?”
His own eyes were a little watery, but he seemed to be doing a better job of holding it in than you were. “I do. So much, honey.”
“Do you think we could try again? I know I need to work on a lot of things with myself, but I promise I will be better. I won’t shut down and I’ll make a better effort at communicating. I won’t take it for granted. I love you so much Dan, you’re my home and I can’t lose that.” You met his eyes, hoping and praying that you had a chance.
In answer, he leaned forward and kissed you. It had been entirely too long since he’d pressed his lips to yours, and you felt yourself melt into him.
He broke away, just for a second. “I love you too. I know I travel a lot, but it only feels like coming home when it’s you I get to come back to.”
You felt a great relief sweep through you and a fresh wave of tears began to trickle down your cheeks. This man was your whole world and you intended on spending the rest of your life making sure he knew that.
“Hey, don’t do that. It breaks my heart when you cry.” He swiped some tears away with a brush of his thumb.
“They’re good tears. Not like the psycho begging tears from earlier.” You added with a shaky chuckle.
He chuckled softly with you before pressing a kiss to your cheek. “I don’t think those were ‘psycho tears’.”
“Really? I drove all the way here to ask for you to take me back, that doesn’t seem crazy to you?” You laughed, snuggling into his side.
He seemed to hold you closer too. “Love makes you do crazy things sometimes, I guess. But honestly, no, I don’t think it was crazy.”
“Why not?”
He nodded towards the front door. “See that bag? I packed that right before you got here. I have a plane ticket to go see you for a flight that leaves in an hour.”
Before you started to cry again, you leaned up and kissed him again. It brought you some comfort to know for sure, even though you already knew deep down, that you’d always come back to one another.

danny blurb #8
Tumblr media
i got an ask for danny taking care of you after passing out due to anemia! i don't even know if people with anemia pass out, i just know that i do from low blood sugar!
warnings : mentions of passing out, mentions of anemia, language, passing out, mentions of being unconscious, eating a kiwi with the skin on, mentions of not eating (not ED related), making out
word count : 650
Danny had tried his hardest to learn about the facts of anemia. He looked in booklets, websites, anything he could get his hands on.
He was used to you falling in front of him, and he would go and get you water and something to eat.
Tonight, you had really scared him. Before he was home, you were getting light headed. When he walked into the door, he found you, on the kitchen floor, unconscious. He quickly put all of his stuff down and tried to wake you.
He pressed on your sternum, he called out your name, he pinched you, he shook your shoulders, nothing worked.
He kneeled over you and yelled as loud as he could, “Babe!”
You quickly shot up, “What happened?”
“I walked in and you were on the floor! Jesus Christ! Never do that again.”
He grabbed onto your shoulders and embraced you, squeezing you tightly. He pulled away and stood up first, to help you get back on your feet.
He helped you walk over to the couch and sat you down. He lifted your feet onto the cushions and said, “I’m going to get you water. If you feel like you are going to pass out, scream.”
He walked into the kitchen and grabbed your water bottle and grabbed a kiwi from the fruit bowl. He handed them both to you and kneeled in front of you.
“When was the last time you ate?”
“12.”
“It’s nearly 8 PM! What do you want for dinner? I’ll get you anything.”
“Do you want to go to Tony’s?”
“Fucking of course I want to go to Tony’s.”
He helped you into the car and the two of you sat in a comfortable silence, hand in hand, on the way to Tony’s.
You ordered the same thing you always got, a small margherita pizza with extra tomato and extra basil. He got the same thing he always got, spaghetti and meatballs.
Tumblr media
When you got home and he locked the door, he scooped you up in his arms and carried you to your bedroom.
He laid you down on the bed and said, “Lay down, Princess.”
He walked over towards the closet and grabbed you some underwear and a large t-shirt for you to sleep in. He helped you get undressed and placed everything in the laundry basket. Once you were dressed he changed into his pajamas, which consisted of linen pants and no shirt.
He laid down next to you and patted his lap, “Come here, baby. Let me see you.”
You climbed onto him and leaned down to kiss him. He laced his fingers into your hair and rested his arm on the back of your neck. You pulled away, but he moved your head back to where he was to kiss you once more.
He rested one hand on your bare thigh, lightly stroking it as you kissed. You pulled away from him and rested your head on his. He kissed your nose and you got off of him and went back to your side of the bed.
He pouted and laid on top of your chest. He snuck one hand up your shirt and rested it on your breast. He loved sleeping like that, his cheek on your left breast and his hand resting on the left.
You played with his hair to lull him to sleep. You thought it was working until he said, “Don’t ever do that shit again, you scared me. Thought I lost you.”
He looked at you with his pretty brown eyes. It was your turn to kiss his nose and say, “Don’t you worry, I am not leaving you any time soon. I plan to be here with you for as long as I live.”
He had already been snoring away, but you figured you could still tell him,
“My sweet Daniel. How I love you so.”

Imagine waking up and padding into the kitchen, wearing nothing but one of his old, torn up tshirts. You click a random playlist on and When a Man Loves a Woman by Percy Sledge starts playing. Danny is sitting at the breakfast nook, watching you dance around the kitchen, making yourself a cup of coffee. He’s smiling to himself, not wanting to make his presence known until you notice him. When you’re eyes finally land on him, you saunter towards him, arms extended. “Honey, dance with me.” He shakes his head, perfectly content with just watching you. You stop in front of him, dragging him out of the chair. Danny lets you wrap your arms around his neck, allowing his own hands to settle on your hips. He listens to you hum along. When you lay your head on his chest, he snakes his arms around you, holding you tight against him. He’s so warm and solid in your hold. You lift your head to look at him when he starts to softly sing along, ‘I know exactly how he feels… Cause baby, baby, baby, you’re my world…’ You can’t stop your smile as you listen to his sweet voice carry through the room. The song finishes and Danny looks down into your eyes, brushing his thumb over your cheek and kissing your forehead. You lean into him as he whispers into your hair, “This man loves you, woman.”

Reasons for Waiting
Tumblr media
This was requested by my sister. You can blame her for the pain. *Based off of Dorothea by Taylor Swift.
words: ~1000 content warnings: sad, friends to almost-lovers to strangers
_______________________________________________________
“Hey, honey?”
“Yes, Daniel?,” you huffed. He knew you didn’t like him calling you that in front of anyone. Let alone his whole family, and all of the Kiszka’s too. Not that they could hear, you’re definitely out of earshot and he’s speaking low and slow.
“Are you gonna miss me?,” he sounds hopeful, but still so sad and small.
“Of course I will, Danny. I’m going to miss you every second of every day. That’s not even a question,” your hand found his, tangling your fingers together.
He was the lucky one. He was going to have constant distractions, being on the road and traveling the world, being around his brothers and meeting millions of… girls. You’ll be stuck here, back home in Michigan. Waiting around for him. It’s not like you could ever move on.
“We were so close, weren’t we?,” he’s got tears in his eyes now, to match the ones in yours.
“And so, so far,” you let out an unamused laugh.
“So far from where we wanted to be, but we still had a good run, right?,” he brushed a tear off of his cheek with the back of his hand.
“We did. I guess it wasn’t really a run, though. Since you never pulled the trigger,” you dropped his hand from yours, instead favoring to tickle his side a bit to make him laugh, before wrapping your arm around his back.
“You didn’t either!,” he laughed, tears still streaming out of his eyes. He lets a beat of silence go by, just enjoying the feeling of your fingers as they find the hem of his shirt and skirt underneath it to touch his warm skin. “Long distance would be a really, really tough way to start a relationship, honey. I don’t think either one of us is strong enough for that.”
“I know, baby. I know.”
“I wanted to give it all to you, you know? I pictured us getting an apartment out in Saginaw. Working some dead end jobs, just to make a life together work. I never pictured this. I never thought the band would actually make it,” he’s crying in earnest now, you are too. Chests heaving for breath, clinging tighter onto each other. “I almost want to just..”
“Daniel Robert, don’t you ever say that. Music means so much to you, and I would never allow you to throw it all away for me,” you had a hand on his face, making him look into your eyes. Sharing just how much hurt was hovering between the two of you.
“I know,” he mumbles, dropping his face into your neck and taking a shaky breath. “Look, it doesn’t have to be forever, right? I’ll wait for you if you’ll wait for me. Me and the boys, we can go to Nashville and get the band really going. Make some good money, and I can afford to support us both with it. You can move down there with us,” he knows he’s dreaming, but damn does it feel good to have a sliver of hope somewhere in his heart.
“Yeah,” you smile softly against his forehead, knowing it was a farfetched dream too. “I’ll always wait for you, Dan.”
You knew you meant those words. It’s not that he didn’t mean his too, but you weren’t naive enough to think that him launching a rock n roll career was going to keep him humble and waiting. You knew he would do his best to keep in touch, for as long as possible. It’d be a month, maybe six, maybe a year. But it would fizzle out. He’d make new, interesting, shiny, musician friends. You’d keep him as close as possible for as long as you could, though. Vowing not to waste a moment.
~
It was four months, one week, and 4 days.
He started out FaceTiming you every day, showing you his moving in progress into his and Sam’s apartment. Taking you grocery shopping with him so you could remind him what ingredients he needed to make that stir fry you always made him that he liked so well. Propping his phone up in the studio, just to feel your presence while he and the boys played, something they all seemed to enjoy — waving at you, asking you how you felt about a certain lyric, and of course Joshua asking you to take his side in every argument.
It shortened about a month in, to texts every day, but FaceTimes maybe once a week. Then those turned into empty promises of calls, and eventually around month three it was only sporadic texts. Albeit they were lengthy, filling you in on days or weeks worth of information at a time. Month four was when you knew it was going to end soon. You had seen the video a mutual friend posted on instagram, Danny in the back corner laughing and play fighting with a girl. You weren’t jealous, not even sad. You had known it was going to happen.
Above all else, you were ready for the end. To be able to finally let out the breath you had been holding onto for all these years. The boy that was never yours, who almost was, only when it was too late. One week and 4 days later you got text, assumably a drunken one.
“Just wanted to say thanks for always being there. You made my roots something to be proud of. I’ll carry a piece of you with me forever.”
You found yourself smiling as you cried, mourning the death of the friendship you had with him, but feeling so, so incredibly proud of the man you watched him become.
“If you’re ever tired of being known for who you know, you know you’ll always know me. I love you, Daniel.”

The Proposal
Danny blurb #1 Word count : 1448
Warnings : fluff, language, mentions of showering together
Danny wagner x fem reader
Danny had always been a hopeless romantic. Breakfast in bed, random flowers, love notes, surprise dates you name it, Danny would do it for me, without me ever asking.
Y/n Pov: Today was a little different. Rather than our normal morning waking up together in a warm bed, maybe hopping in a soothing shower together, I awoke to find Danny not next to me. His side of the bed was cold, already showing that he had been awake for a bit. At first, I thought was normal because I thought I’d find him in the bathroom or, maybe the kitchen, making us some hot tea or coffee but, as I went searching throughout the house I couldn’t find him anywhere.
Maybe some band or family emergency came up, so I checked my phone to see if I got any text from him, the guys, or the Wagner family, but again nothing. I thought of texting him maybe asking where he was but then I thought to myself maybe he needed one morning to himself, I’d understand if he did, sometimes we all need a break from everything.
End Pov
So you let the situation be and decided you’d go on with your morning in silence. You made your coffee, toasted some toast, and sat on your rocking chair on your and Danny’s wrap-around porch just watching the beautiful live oak trees sway in the crisp Tennessee breeze.
Y/n Pov: As soon as lunchtime rolled around I started to get a bit worried so I decided to text Sam. Yet as soon as I started typing up my question I got a text from him.
Sam: Get dressed fast, just make sure you dress nice, at least nicer than casual. I’ll be there in 20 to pick you up. No questions asked. Y/n: Wait what? I’m so confused, what's going on? Where's Danny? Sam: I said no questions… You’ll see what's going on soon. Y/n: Umm.. ok then. See you in 20.
End pov
You started to get dressed, Sam said to dress a little nicer than casual so you decided to go with a nice burnt orange romper with long flowy sleeves, and a nice yet still casual and quite comfortable pair of brown wrap-around sandals. You let your hair flow freely and you were ready.
Sam Pulled into the driveway minutes later and started honking his horn like some crazy man stuck in hours of traffic, by god was it annoying, but that's just Sam for ya.
Y/n Pov: Sam: Looks like you pulled yourself together nicely and in a pretty quick amount of time. Y/n: Well yeah I mean I haven't heard anything from anyone all day I’m eager to know what's going on. Sam: Just relax, everything's fine. You’ll find out everything soon.. For now, we drive.
Oddly enough the car ride was silent, and Sam's normally an avid talker so I could tell he was suppressing telling me something, but what the hell was it?! We did get there faster than I had expected, it was just an open flower meadow and nothing else. I didn't see anyone or anything but grass, flowers, and trees.
Sam: Alright we’re here, get out. Y/n: Ok..?
Sam just drove away leaving you there alone at a place you didn’t know with no one around.
Y/n: What the hell Sam?!
I turned around to check out my surroundings and began walking until I found a trail on a hill. Following along that trail in between the colorful flowers and down the hill I saw a figure come into my vision. One I knew to be Danny. He was turned away, his hair in a claw clip, and he was dressed in all black, his skin kissed by the sun. I could only ever admire him, he has no imperfections whatsoever. I called his name and he turned to me with a smile. Excited I began to run towards him, even in the little time we had spent apart, I missed him.
When I finally reached my lover I jumped into his arms engulfing him in a hug filled with so much love it was like we were in a bubble floating off into some other world.
Danny: You made it. Y/n: Of course I did, I woke up this morning to you gone, so at the first sign of me seeing you today, aka the text I got from Sam, I knew I would be led to you so I came. Danny just stared into my eyes. I could tell he was pondering what to say next, it was as though he was hesitant about what would come if he did say something. Y/n: Danny what's going on?
End Pov
Danny begins to kneel down onto one knee, reaching into his pocket to grab out a beautiful green velvet box and presenting it in front of my teary eyes. He opened the box to present the most simple but elegant ring, a plain gold band with a small moss agate crystal in the middle. Then he began to speak, his words hitting my ears like honey.
Danny: Y/n when we first met at the Kiszkas party in Michigan I knew that I wanted you to be in my life forever. I waited months before bringing up the courage to ask you to be my girlfriend in fear that I’d be rejected. You Y/n, you are radiant as the sun which shines upon this summer's day. Your skin is golden and your hair is soft as silk. I could stand and admire you for hours, days, weeks, and months, and never find any sort of flaw. We’ve been together for four years now and together through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows and we've had some real struggles with touring and going months without physically being with each other, which was so draining, but that hasn't kept us apart, it never will, because the lover we have for each other is so strong. Our love can conquer anything and I would like to pledge my undying love to you by asking you this one question. Will you marry me? Y/n: Yes yes a thousand times yes! Of course, I’ll marry you, you're my best friend, my partner in crime, we’ve been together through thick and thin, and I would love to spend the rest of my life with you.
He beams up at you with the biggest smile you’ve ever seen on him. His eyes are shining with the same intensity as the day we met at the Kiszkas party. He couldn’t possibly love you any greater than in this moment.
Danny: I love you so much Y/n.
His heart skips a beat with joy, as he wipes your joyful tears off your cheek while smiling down at you with all the love in the universe. He then leans down his hands around your waist as he looks from your eyes to your lips connecting your lips together. The kiss was otherworldly as though you were bonded together by your soul's warmth surrounding your bodies and you felt whole in that moment.
Y/n: I love you too Danny. My my my you’re such a hopeless romantic. Look at us both here crying in a meadow after you proposed to me and presented the most beautiful heartfelt speech. Danny you really are my other half, my soulmate, it’s like our hearts, our souls, are bonded to one another. I am willing to go across the universe and further for you my love, you are everything to me.
Danny: And you are everything to me, my soulmate, my true love, the one I will give and do any and everything for.
He Pecks your lips once more and you begin to hear cries and claps coming from behind you two. You turn around in utter shock to find your family, the Wagner family and the Kiszka family watching, recording, popping wine bottles, clapping, and crying all together at this very moment.
Y/n: So this is why I hadn’t seen you all day? You got everyone to come here all the way from Michigan? Danny: Yes I did my darling. I wanted this moment to be as special as it could possibly be.
You both ran to the combination of families engulfing everyone in hugs, listening to all of the congratulations and the advice you were receiving.
Sam: Alright, who's ready for some wine?

Spoiled
Desc: This little blurb came to my mind after a certain drummer in a certain Tik Tok yesterday. Would highly recommend it as a daydream in the middle of a long shift ;)
The laughs and banter coming from the green room led you to your boyfriend and his chaotic counterparts.Opening the door, you catch Danny’s eyes looking up and down at the cute outfit you had picked out for the show.
You’re distracted, however, by Sam walking up behind you and wrapping you up in his arms. “There she is!” He laughs and playfully pushes you around as you grin at Danny. “Watch out, Daniel, looks like Sammy boy’s workin’ to steal your girl,” Josh laughs and sips at his mug of pre-show hot Toddy.
Danny raises his eyebrows at you as you grin and make your way across the room to greet him. Even in your heeled boots, he towers over you as you lean up to give him a kiss. “Is that so, Mama?” He speaks inches from your lips. “You gonna let Samuel steal you from me?” “Mm-mmm,” you shake your head and quickly kiss his cheek. “You know I’m all yours, drummer boy”
A knock at the door signals to the guys that tech is ready for them to sound check. You sigh slightly as Danny pulls your body to his for a hug. “Sorry, love, but I’ve gotta get to stage. You know the drill.”
You nod and let him collect his things, grabbing his phone and wrap for his hands. What you weren’t expecting was for him to reach into his wallet and hand you a wad of cash. “What’s this?” Your eyebrows raise inquisitively as you take it from him. “Well I can’t have my girl getting bored while we’re sound-checking, can I?” Danny kisses your forehead and moves across the room to follow his brothers across the arena.
“Baby, you don’t have to-” you try to put up a fight, but he cuts you off. “I know I don’t, but I want to. I know this stretch of tour is getting long, and there’s a lot of cities out there to explore, even if I can’t go out with you,” his face saddens for a moment.
You’ve had this discussion many times before, about whether it makes more sense for you to join them on the road or stay back in Nashville. But coming with for a few weeks at a time was the only way for you to see him more often, so you made it work. You nod understandingly and smile at him, grateful.
“Go treat yourself a little, baby, and we can spend some time together before the show, yeah?” He winks at you before letting the door close behind him.

this is the picture you take just after Danny had a good hit in golf. You’re sitting down watching Danny play the game he loves more than anything. After he gets a good hit he turns around and runs to you celebrating “woo!” “Did you see that one baby? you giggle and reply “I sure did”. Danny reaches you and lifts you up, spinning you in a hug. You give him a peck on the nose before he puts you back down, grabbing your face with both hands and laying a huge kiss on your lips, not caring about everyone who’s around, just wanting to celebrate with his girl. “Danny the others are waiting for you, go” you say shooing him off. “Don’t worry beautiful we should be done soon” he says before leaning down and whispering in your ear “after we’re done here, you and I can do anything your heart desires…” giving you one last kiss before running off to finish his game of golf

The tour has finally come to an end, which means Danny is back home. Throughout tour, Danny would send you little gifts from each country and state they’d traveled to. As much as you loved all the gifts he’d gotten you, you couldn’t help but feel bad. You were a terrible gift giver, and it was hard to find things he might like or want. Danny would always remind you “Don’t get me anything, I already have everything I want.” To which you would sit there and pout about.
This time was different, you have eventually found something he may find special. You gently woke him up from his sleep, brows slightly furrowing in his sleep. His opens one of his hazel eyes, squinting at you, and his dark hair ruffled all over the place. You just told him that you wanted to show him something, but he had to go to the kitchen first. After a moment he tiredly got out of bed.
You stood behind Daniel, on your tip toes as you covered his eyes. You were leading the blind as the both of you shuffled down the hall toward the kitchen.
You smile small, brows furrowing at the same time “You better not be peaking.”
“Y/N, you’re covering my eyes, I’m not – “Daniel’s tired balance made him bump his hip into the end table in the hall. “Oww.” He grunts as he rubs his hip.
You tried to hold back your laughter, but you couldn’t help it. “I’m so sorry! Are you alright?” trying to conceal your laughs behind him.
“Oh yeah totally, nothing but a broken hip, am I right Y/N?” The sarcasm laced in his tone made another giggle escape from you. He stretched his arms out, so he could feel his surroundings. “Now I have to do this for my safety since you have a poor sense of direction.” He chuckles at his own joke.
You nudge his back gently with your shoulder “Hush, it was an accident.”
He chuckles more “I know baby, I’m just teasing.”
As you both walk into the kitchen, you step from behind him “Keep those eyes closed, Wagner.” You snap to him before walking over to the table.
He stood there with his hands in the pockets of his sweats, eyes still closed “Whatever you say boss.”
You gather the gift into your arms and walk toward Daniel to stand in front of him. You clear your throat “Okay, you can open them.”
Danny opens his eyes, immediately seeing a bouquet of flowers being thrusted into his view. His hazel eyes going big, looking between you and flowers. “Oh Y/N, are these are for me?” he asks.
The bouquet was a beautiful and special one you had made for him. The flowers were tulips that were pale blue and white, white wrapping on the outside with silky ribbon tied around the it.
“Y-yeah, I got them from that little florist shop we always passed by, y’know, with those pretty peonies in the spring, remember?” you asked.
Danny’s cheeks visibly going pink, he smiles small “Yeah I remember.” He says softly as he examines the flowers. “Baby, these are beautiful.”
The smile plastered on your face was sheepish, only feeling slightly nervous “You like them?” your belly felt like there was a bunch of tiny butterflies in it.
“Of course I do, they are gorgeous.” He says softly as he steps closer to you, pulling you close with his free arm, he’s going in for a kiss.
You quickly put your hand up to block him. Feeling his lips lightly brush your palm. “Wait!” You scramble to pull a little envelope from your pocket on your pajama pants “I have a note for you too.”
Danny looks down at the little envelope, his brow arched as he takes it from you. You watch as he gently tears open the envelope, trying to be as gentle as he can with it. It makes you chuckle at how delicate he’s being. Finally getting the note out and opening it up, he’s reading the following.
Dear Daniel,
You made it through a year of touring, congratulations! Though I could not be there with you for the whole ride physically, but I know you still rocked. I am very proud of you too. Not only with the beautiful music you’ve created with the boys or how much you’ve accomplished. Proud of the person you’re becoming, growing day by day. I am nothing but happy for you. I love and appreciate you always. You’re blooming into a beautiful flower, my sweet. My Flower.
Love, Y/N. ~
P.S. Get it…that’s what the flowers are for…you’re the flowers.
Danny couldn’t help but roll his eyes and chuckle at the last part, but he could feel his eyes burning “Y/N.” He says softly.
Your heart swelled just looking at him You move closer to him to give him a big hug, giving his waist a tight squeeze “Danny no, cause if you cry, I’ll cry!” you said against his chest.
He groans “I’m not! It’s the flowers, I have allergies.” He shakes his head as he sets the flowers and note onto the counter. The both of you laugh as he pulls you close to him. “Thank you so much, I love this.” He wraps his arms around as he leans down to give you a sweet kiss on the lips. “And I love you.” He says softly before giving you another peck.
You smile up at him, one arm around his neck as your other hand cups his cheek “Love you too.”
Yeah, he loved your gift.
FIN.

This is how Danny looks at you when you walk into the room. He could be in the middle of a conversation but he stops talking the minute he sees you. His brain turning into mush as you stand in front of him; the only thing he can do is stare at you :(

Hello!! Can you do a Danny from Greta one shot where you 2 are friends and you both realize you are in love with each other?! Maybe some Angst to fluff
Please and thank you!
Oh this is a delicious ask, this one was so exciting to write, enjoy 😉
Burnin’ For You - Danny Wagner x FReader
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Danny had been friends for a couple years, and you’d been hopelessly in love with each other for most of that. While it may be obvious to everyone around, it seems it’s going to take a series of unfortunate events to open both of your eyes.
Words: 2.4k
Warnings: language, drinking, some good ol’ jealousy, friends to lovers, angst with a fluffy ending
You sighed as you looked down at your outfit. This was ridiculous. You were just meeting Danny and some friends for a drink after work, yet you had taken a great deal of time to get all dolled up.
The ridiculous part was that you knew you wouldn’t have done any of it if Danny wasn’t going to be there. It shouldn’t have mattered. He was one of your closest friends. Nothing was going to happen, so it was honestly pretty pointless to spend so much time getting ready.
But it was Danny, and you were embarrassingly in love with him.
You sent him a quick text to let him know you arrived and then started to gather your things. As you stepped out of the car, he responded to let you know he was inside.
Ignoring the little flip your stomach did, you went in to meet him. The feeling only got worse when you spotted him near the end of the bar. He was in black jeans and a button-up that had enough buttons undone for you to see chest hair. Not that it mattered, Danny looked good in whatever he wore.
His face lit up when he saw you and he gave a little wave, which you returned with a smile.
“Hey, how was work?” He slid a glass your way. Your usual. Of course he already ordered one for you, he was just thoughtful like that. He made it really hard for you to stop falling for him.
“Thanks, and it wasn’t too bad today. You?” You clinked your glass with his in a mock cheers before taking a sip.
He took a sip of his own and shrugged. “It was pretty average today. Nothing too wild, which is nice sometimes.”
“Amen to that,” You chuckled. After finishing nearly half your drink, you realized the two of you were still alone. “Hey, where are your friends?”
“Oh, I forgot to tell you. Sam should be here in five or so, but Jake got held up and won’t be here for probably another hour. Josh can’t make it.” Danny sighed. “They’re always late.”
“Yeah, I’ve gathered that.” You remembered the first time you’d met Sam. He was about an hour late to the small dinner Danny held at his home. You’d never met Jake before, but Danny had already told you he was Sam’s brother so you figured bad punctuality might’ve been genetic. “I’m sure they’re worth the wait, so no worries. I liked Sam last time we hung out, and I’m sure Jake is just as delightful.”
Danny laughed at that. The little dinner party could hardly be called that. It wasn’t formal in the slightest, and you’d all gotten entirely too drunk and a little wild. “Yeah, they’re something all right. Good thing I have you to keep me grounded.”
He gave you a little wink and you felt your cheeks warm slightly. Damn it, you cursed yourself and downed the rest of your drink.
Thankfully, you were saved from your feelings by the arrival of Sam. In a flurry of greetings, more drinks were ordered and a sea of conversation overtook your group.
As the three of you caught up and chatted, more drinks were ordered. And finished. And ordered again. Before you knew it, the three of you were a little tipsy and feeling spectacular.
“Well, fuck Jake, I say we party without his late ass!” Sam threw an arm around your shoulders.
You laughed and leaned into him. “I think you might be onto something, Sammy boy!”
Danny eyed you with an odd expression for a moment. You couldn’t quite tell what was on his mind, but he just shrugged. “I don’t know, guys. Jake should be here any minute now.”
“Come on, Danny, dance with me! And Sam! We should all go out there together!” You reached over to tug on his arm lightly. Okay, maybe you were all a little more than tipsy.
At first he seemed to grin at the suggestion, but as soon as Sam was mentioned in the dancing, his grin faded. You didn’t even notice. Not that he noticed your flushes and smiles earlier. The obliviousness was unfortunately contagious.
“You guys go ahead without me, I’m just going to wait at the bar for Jake.” Danny nodded toward the small dance floor area.
The tequila you’d recently consumed dulled your ears to the tinge of bitterness in his voice. “Okay, well don’t be too long.”
Danny watched in slight disdain as you led Sam away. He wasn’t sure where this was coming from. He knew Sam would never make a move on you, he knew how Danny felt about you. Hell, all the Kiszkas knew, they were his brothers. He also knew that you and Sam were just friends, but you and him were also just friends and look at the way he felt about you. What if all along you’d been waiting for Sam? You did ask where he was pretty quickly after you arrived.
Danny tried to put the thoughts out of his head, but the worry kept coming back. The fear that it might all be one-sided was all-consuming.
For a fraction of a second, just out of the corner of his eye, he thought he glimpsed you arriving next to him. Maybe you had come back to get him. When he fully turned his head, he was met with the sight of another girl. Not you, but she definitely held a resemblance.
She asked what he was drinking tonight and put a hand on his arm, and he felt himself slip into a dark place.
Meanwhile, you and Sam were absolutely thriving in the crowd of people. You danced with each other, with strangers, it was practically a free for all. It had been a while since you had really let loose.
The elation started to ebb after a while, though. You’d remember Danny was still waiting on Jake by himself and you’d feel a ghost of sadness that he wasn’t with you. After all, he was your favorite person to dance with.
“Can’t believe Dan is just over there alone and not out here with us!” You shouted to Sam over the music.
“Right?!” Sam laughed, craning his neck to try and spot his friend. His eyes caught on something and his expression faded.
You frowned at him. “What’s with the face?”
He shook his head. “Nothing, don’t worry about it.”
Now you had to know. “Sam, what is it?”
“He’s over there, but he’s not very alone.” Sam winced.
You turned around and through the crowd you were able to see a flash of what he saw.
Danny. With another girl. More specifically, Danny making out with said girl.
Instantly, your mood was flattened. Danny had been single for a while, and he’d not shown interest in anyone for that while. You hoped that maybe that meant you had a chance, but it appeared he wasn’t thinking about you after all. You weren’t entirely sure why you ever thought he might’ve been.
You looked over to see Sam watching you with sad eyes. Your sadness was quickly turning to irritation. “Don’t look at me like that, I’m fine! Why would that bother me? I’m just in need of another drink to keep me going.”
As you made your way away from Sam, you weren’t exactly sure what you were doing. It’s not like Danny was owed to you, and it’s not that you wanted him to never date and die alone. You just felt upset and you hated that.
That’s what led you to the conclusion that maybe you needed to kiss someone too. Get your mind off of Danny (hopefully) and then it wouldn’t hurt so badly when he inevitably moved on to an actual relationship. Maybe Danny had the right idea kissing a stranger.
While you were waiting on a drink at the other end of the bar, a safe distance away from Danny and the mystery girl, a guy walked in and met your eyes. He was handsome, with longer hair and a sort of mysterious air around him. He also worse a barely buttoned button-down. Not too shabby, he would do perfectly fine. You gave him your best flirty grin and hoped your “come talk to me” eyes still worked like they did in college.
You must’ve done something right because he made his way over to you and took the seat beside you. Neither one of you introduced yourselves, the conversation was set up to where you both silently understood what you wanted from the interaction. You didn’t need to get to know him, and vice versa.
Before you knew it, his lips were on yours and your hands were tangled in his hair. He was a good kisser. Honestly, one of the better ones you’d had. Still, you didn’t really feel that spark.
Just as you were telling yourself to fuck the spark because it wasn’t always about that, the kiss was suddenly ended.
“What the fuck, Jake?!” Danny’s voice shouted at the guy across from you.
Of fuck. Fuck fuck fuck. So this was Jake. You glanced over and it appeared Jake was having the same realization you were and you both cringed. This was not what was supposed to happen.
Then Danny whirled to face you. “I cannot believe you.” He all but spat the words at you and stormed outside.
Sam had made his way to you all now and was looking mildly confused. He looked from you to Jake to the closing door Danny had just left from.
“What the fuck happened here?” He murmured.
Jake could catch him up. For now, you had to go talk to your best friend. You started out toward the parking lot, a new rage building within you.
So he could go around and kiss whoever, but you weren’t allowed to kiss anyone? Sure, you wouldn’t have kissed Jake if you knew it was Jake, but what right did Danny have to blow up at the two of you for it.
On the bright side, your anger fueled your stomp out to the parking lot and you caught up to Danny relatively quickly.
“You kissed Jake!? What the fuck?” Danny shouted once the two of you had made it to the parking lot.
You threw up your arms in annoyance. “How the hell was I supposed to know that was Jake? I’ve never fucking met him before! Besides, why does it matter so much that I kissed him?”
“It just does, okay?” Danny seethed.
A bitter laugh escaped your lips. “Oh, so you can shove your tongue down some random girl’s throat, but the second I kiss someone I’ve gone too far? Does that sound fair to you, Daniel?”
He stiffened slightly at the use of his given name. You never called him that. It was always “Dan” or “Danny” or something ridiculous that went back to an inside joke.
“Maybe it’s not, but I still don’t think you should be kissing one of my best friends!” He knew he was being irrational, but he just couldn’t get the image of the two of you out of his head.
He broke things off with that one girl fairly quickly. About three seconds into kissing her, he became acutely aware of how not-you she was. He ended the kiss and when he went to find you, he found you with Jake instead. Any potential jealousy he felt toward Sam immediately flung itself to Jake and it took over.
“Well then who should I kiss?” You shouted, breaking him out of his thoughts.
Your question startled him, but his answer left his mouth before he could consider what he was about to do.
“Me! You should fucking kiss me! You should be with me!”
Now it was your turn to be thrown off. “What?” You blinked at him. Surely you couldn’t be hearing him correctly.
He sighed and looked at you with those soft, brown eyes that melted you. “I only kissed that girl because she looked like you, and she laughed like you, and I’ve wanted you so badly for so long. I didn’t want to ruin our friendship, but I don’t think I can keep being your friend and feeling this way.”
There was a painful beat of silence.
“I don’t want to be your friend, Danny.” Your voice was now so flat and emotionless that it made his heart sink.
“You don’t?” He asked quietly. Panic was threatening to claw into him.
“No, I want you to shut up and kiss me so I can tell how badly you want me.”
At your blunt statement, his head flung up to look at you. Your cheeks were red and you looked so beautiful in that moment that he wasn’t sure how he kept himself from confessing everything to you the moment he met you. He loved you so deeply, and from the look in your eyes, you loved him too.
It only took a few hurried steps forward between the two of you before his lips were crashing into yours, hungry and passionate. This wasn’t one of the forget-me-later kisses you both had shared with other people earlier in the night. This was needy and desperate and full of all the words you couldn't say.
Time didn’t exist in your worlds for a while. You weren’t sure when you broke apart, but you found yourself immediately missing the feeling of his lips on yours.
“You know I love you, right?” He asks, slightly breathless.
Despite the way your heart stops in your chest, you grin and nod. “I do.”
He kisses you again, briefly this time, and leans his forehead down to rest on yours. “I never should’ve kissed that girl. I didn’t feel anything for her. I promise. I’m so sorry that I did it, and I’d give anything to undo it.”
“It’s okay, I believe you. Trust me, I didn’t feel anything for Jake either. I was upset because I’m so in love with you, Dan. That still doesn’t mean I should’ve kissed him, and trust me I regret that too. You know I love you, right?” You echo his words back to him.
He chuckles and mimics your nod from a second ago. “I do.”

gone pt 1, danny wagner
Tumblr media
warnings : angsty af, mentions of being drunk, language, talks of motherhood, talks of fatherhood
word count : 1.7k+
pt 2
Danny had been busier than usual lately. He had a lot of meetings and interviews to do now that Meeting the Master had dropped as well as the album release date.
With him being gone for most of the day you were alone, raising Montana by yourself. You understood he was busy with everything going on around him, but he wasn’t even home for dinner on time.
The past few nights he had come home in the middle of the night. He’d heat up the food you had left him in the microwave, say goodnight to Montana and come to bed.
Tonight, he came home at 3 AM, drunk off his ass. You had woken up from ruckus coming downstairs. You grabbed the baseball bat that you had next to your bed and went to lock Montana’s door.
You made your way downstairs and saw Danny and Jake, both in the kitchen. Jake was in the fridge and Danny was at the kitchen table.
When Danny saw you, he gasped, “Hi Peaches! I missed you.” You dropped the baseball bat on the floor and walked over to him.
He pulled your waist towards him and rested his head on your chest, peppering kisses along your neckline.
Jake had come over with a water bottle and some crackers. “Hey, Y/N. I tried to control him, he had seven beers and a few shots of tequila. He went back to the bar, but they stopped serving him. He wouldn’t listen to anyone, I’m sorry to bring him home like this.”
You gave him a tiny smile and grabbed the water from him, unscrewing the cap and trying to get Danny to drink some.
He shoved the water bottle out of your hand and it landed on the floor, spilling all over the wood. Jake grabbed some paper towels and you pulled away from Danny.
You heard Montana crying and you glared at Danny. You grabbed the baseball bat as he shrugged his shoulders when you went upstairs to calm her down.
You went into her room and approached her crib, trying to see what the problem was. Nothing was out of the ordinary, so you assumed Danny woke her up. You grabbed her and put her up on your shoulder, rubbing her back trying to soothe her.
You heard a knock on her door followed by the sound of the knob opening. Jake walked towards you and Montana and said, “I got him in bed. I put his pajamas on him, he is knocked out. I’m sorry we woke her.”
“It’s not your fault, Jake. How bad do you think he will be in the morning?”
“Bad. I will come over in the morning and come get him. We have to do an interview tomorrow at 9.”
You sighed and put Montana back into her crib. You laid her blanket on top of her and grabbed one of her stuffed animals to sit next to her.
You followed Jake downstairs and as he approached the front door, you called out to him.
“Hey, Jake?”
He turned around and questioned, “Hm?”
“Thanks for bringing him home.”
You had gone upstairs after drinking some water and curled into bed. You looked next to you and saw his hair sprawled out up against his pillow.
You turned your head away from him and slowly drifted off to sleep.
Tumblr media
You woke up to Danny shaking you awake, “Babe, I put Montana in the bed. Jake and I have an interview to do. I'll be back later.”
You decided to just get out of bed at that point and get ready for the day. Danny had already been out the door when you picked up your phone and checked the time.
April 8, 2023.
It was your anniversary. You quickly jumped out of bed and put some clothes on. You grabbed Montana and went downstairs so you could leave.
You got her a bottle and grabbed all of your belongings and got in the car. You went to World Market and got Danny his favorite European chocolate.
You got him a new pair of Ray Bans and some new socks. It wasn’t a lot, but it's the thought that counts.
You thought about one of his favorite meals and remembered about his moms pierogies. When you got home, you texted Lori and asked her for the recipe. You put all of Danny’s gifts into a large basket and added a card to the front.
Lori gave you all the ingredients and instructions. You already had the potatoes mashed and you were adding all of the filling ingredients to the pot when Danny walked into the door.
You gave him a smile which he never returned. Instead, he went straight into his home studio, shut and locked the door.
The filling was all mixed together so you took the pot off the heat and headed for his studio. You knocked on the door and waited for him to respond.
He never answered, so you knocked again.
You heard an exasperated sigh before he yelled out, “Jesus! What?!” He opened the door and you took a few steps back.
“Nothing, I-. Nevermind,” you said and walked away from the door and back into the kitchen. He slammed the door and locked it again.
You filled the pierogies and started cooking them along with some kielbasa and steamed broccoli.
The kielbasa was almost done when you went into Montana’s room to see her smiling and kicking her legs around. You grabbed a wrap and put her up against your body. You went back downstairs to plate the food and put it on the table.
You put Montana in her high chair and gave her a warm bottle and cut fruit and some of the steamed broccoli. Once she was situated, you walked over to the studio room. You could hear him playing with one of his many guitars. You lightly knocked on the door and told him it was dinner time.
He stopped playing and you swore you heard him say, “Jesus. Who are you, my mother?” followed by a long sigh. You chose to ignore what he said and left him alone.
You and your daughter had both finished dinner and you cleaned up with her still wrapped around you.
You went upstairs and left Danny alone downstairs.
NO ONE’S POV:
When Danny walked out of his studio room, he could tell something was different. Montana’s high chair was gone, Y/N’s purse was gone. Danny looked in the coat closet, all of Montana’s shoes were gone and your jackets were gone.
He looked in the living room, your favorite blanket, your books, and your laptop were gone. He walked into the foyer, your slippers were gone.
He went upstairs to Montana’s room. He opened her closet, clothes gone, jackets gone. He walked into her bathroom, her mini hair brush gone, her bows gone.
Danny started to panic and made a beeline for what was once a shared bedroom. He walked in and saw the gift basket on his side of the bed, perfectly sitting there.
Tears formed in his eyes as he walked over and saw the card in front of the beautiful arrangement. He opened it and read it,
To My First Love,
Happy Anniversary! I'm sorry it's not much, but I didn’t know what to get you. I hope you like everything!
These past years have meant everything to me, I love you so much.
XOXO, Y/N
When he opened the card, a polaroid fell out. It was his favorite polaroid that Joe took of Danny and Y/N, sitting at a holiday dinner hosted by Sam Kiszka. Danny’s hand was gently placed on Y/N’s pregnant belly. Danny kneeled at your side of the bed and held the photo in his hands.
He remembered the moment they had that night. He had his hand on Y/N’s stomach, knowing that the warmth of his hands soothed her belly. Danny remembered whispering in her ear, telling her how much he loved her and how much he adored her.
Danny remembered Y/N telling him that he was going to be an outstanding father. He remembered the car ride home, Y/N telling him excited she was to be a mom. He remembered the glimmer in her eyes when she talked about their unborn daughter.
He went for his phone in his back pocket and hit Y/N’s contact. He got up off the floor and looked out the bedroom window, her car was gone. He held his phone up to his ear but was met with Y/N’s voicemail,
“Hey! This is Y/N. I’m sorry I can’t come to the phone right now. Leave a message and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks!”
He hung up the phone before he could leave a message. He saw the little red dot on his phone right above the voicemail icon. He clicked on it and saw her name and the time he missed the call, 6:58. He was still in his music room at that time. He left his studio at 7:00. If only he had left the room sooner.
He pressed on the voicemail and put it up to his ear.
“Daniel, whenever you decide to come out of your studio, dinner is in the microwave. Montana and I are going to Michigan. Let me know when you want to be a father and a boyfriend.”
He could hear Montana babbling in the back. He smiled at the sound of his daughter and started crying hysterically. He ran downstairs and flung himself onto the kitchen floor. He held his head in his hands and sobbed.
Danny heard shuffling in the foyer and raced over to the sound. He was expecting it to be Y/N, but it wasn’t. It was Jake.
Jake had put all of his stuff down when Danny ran into his best friend's arms.
Jake held onto Danny and embraced him in his arms as he questioned Danny, “Woah! Woah! Woah! What’s going on!?"
“She’s gone. Y/N left me. She took Montana and she left me. Goddamnit, I fucked up.”

thinking about Danny taking you golfing for the first time </3
He would be so supportive and patient. You know how seriously he takes the game when he's with his family or friends, so you'd make sure to warn him several times in the days leading up to it that this was going to be something much different. He reassures you that its gonna be so fun and he's just glad you're coming with him for once.
He is excited to introduce you to the guys at the club and, when you do meet, they express their pleasure to meet the person that Danny talks about so often.
He'd insist on buying you actual golf shoes even though you really would rather just wear your street sneakers. "If we're doing this, we're doing it, babe. You gotta respect the green..." Luckily, you reined him in before he dished out hundreds on a whole set of clubs for you...
He take you out to the driving range a few times in the months before to teach you the basics. How to swing properly, the basic rules and etiquette. He'd even have taken you mini-golfing to practice your putting game. You chuckled the whole time at how focused he was on doing well, whereas you just thought the pirate decorations at the course were entertaining.
When the day comes, you're up at the ass crack of dawn stopping for breakfast sandwiches on the way. He's rambling on about how he is set on mastering the 8th hole this time. Meanwhile, you're nervous that he might get bored at walking you through the basics and dealing with your general lack of skill. But, he notices you're a oddly quiet. When you dismiss it as just you being tired, he knows you're lying.
He puts his hand on your thigh from across the console and gives you his classic calming smile.
"Babe, this is gonna be fun. I have literally no expectations today except just having a good time with you. 'Kay?"
After a few holes, you realize that your worry was for nothing. Danny cheers you on even after you take terrible swings, saying how great it was. You know that he knows it was objectively bad, but really he is just commenting on how great it was that you're there... (whether he knows it or not).
You took the liberty of recording some of his swings, since you know that he loves this new chip_bunker account. But, when you catch him on a bad one, he gets bashful. "Nobody wants to see that..." When the camera shuts off though, he's twisting his hat around, pulling you in for a quick kiss and grabbing your waist. Pressing your foreheads together, he thanks you again.
"Seriously, babe. Thank you for coming." His huge fucking eyelashes are right in your face and you're speechless once again. "Also, you do look really fucking hot in this outfit." You're a little self-conscious of the ways his gloved hand is starting to sneak up the back of your shirt, since you are in public...
"Daniel..." you chide him with a smirk.
"Crazy idea, I know. But... what if we skip the last few and g-"
"Absolutely," you cut him off with another kiss.
I'll let you fill in the blanks on what happens next :)

Reasons for Waiting, Part Two
Tumblr media
probably my most requested piece. gather your tissues. read part one before reading this. word count: 2.7k

“You said you would wait for me, that was the loudest lie I’ve ever been told.”
“Okay, drama queen, just take your turn already,” Jake rolled his eyes at his older brother.
“Oh, guess who I ran into today,” Josh spoke slowly as he moved his Monopoly piece across the board, his eyes lulling to stare at Danny. Subtlety has never been in his genes.
“Who’s that?,” Danny spoke around the beer bottle raised to his lips.
“Y/N.”
A splatter of the liquid landed on the corner of Josh’s mouth, making him chuckle as he reached to wipe it. Sam reaching for a napkin to clean up the rest of the beer that had been spat out of Danny’s mouth.
“Like from home? Where the fuck did you see her? Is she here? In town? Where did you see her? What did you- what did she say?”
“I’d love to tell you all of the details, if you’d shut the fuck up, my beloved Daniel,” Josh laughed along with his brothers at the shock the simple confession had put Danny in. “I ran into her at Publix. She said she’s doing great, she’s in town visiting her fiancé. She’s still doing photography. She’s got purple hair. Lots of tattoos. This really cute nose ring,” Josh rambled on, waving his hands about.
Fiancé. Danny’s heart was sitting in his lap. He didn’t hear any of the other words Josh’s mouth was spewing out at him. Staring at his lips as he continued talking, all Daniel could hear was blood rushing in his head and the hammering of his heart. His body moved faster than his mind, scooting his chair back a little too aggressively as it slammed into the wall behind him. His legs carried him out the door, he leaned over the banister of Jake’s back patio, feeling lightheaded and nauseous.
What the fuck is wrong with me? I haven’t seen her in six years. I haven’t spoken to her in five years. Why do I care? Who the fuck is she engaged to? Did she have an engagement party? Did she think about inviting me? Will I be invited to the wedding? Holy fuck. A wedding. She’s going to get married. It won’t be me.
“Babe? What are you doing out here?,” her voice was shrill and it went ran a shiver down his spine. “Are you alright, what happened?” Her hands felt like flames against his skin, burning straight through his shirt.
“I don’t want to be with you.”
“Excuse me?,” her touch turning icy cold. “Like, you need some air, some space?”
He laughed, tearful and gruff, at how hopeful she sounded.
“No. Like I do not want to date you. It’s over, it’s done. I’m in love with someone else,” his voice was stern, even while it wavered as tears streaked his cheeks.
He let out a breath of relief when she left without another word. He didn’t have the strength to argue right now. A rush of wind blew through, Danny closed his eyes, leaning into it. The breeze drying his tears as the moonlight washed over him. He could picture it so vividly in his mind, your presence next to him.
------------------------------------------
He’s 18, it’s his last round of golf on the high school team. He’s oddly emotional, feeling stupid as his eyes begin to water. One glance over at the crowd and his eyes find you, your hand waving him toward you, the other reaching into your bag to get his sunglasses out. He jogs over, so grateful for your over packing tendencies. Slides the oversized glasses on, hiding his reddening eyes from the other players. A kiss to the back of your hand, and he’s back on the fairway.
He’s 16, his dad is behind him in the mirror, teaching him how to tie his tie. Dan is smiling at his son, his little boy is growing up. Junior prom came in the blink of an eye. Danny’s hands were shaking, growing more and more nervous as the minutes ticked by. He was awaiting your arrival with bated breath, knowing you would look the most beautiful in your dress. His heart stopped, his jaw dropped, his stomach hurt. The rose gold gown you wore caught the setting sunlight in the most glorious way. “Aphrodite,” he called you for the entire evening.
He’s 12, feeling what he could only explain as his first ‘real’ heartbreak. The girl he finally worked up the courage to ask to be his girlfriend had told everyone she only said yes as a joke. He hid in the gymnasium, skipping three classes in a row. The door swung open and he dropped between the bleachers, hoping it wasn’t a teacher and if it was, that they hadn’t seen him. “Daniel, come out of there,” his cheeks glowed red when he heard your voice. Lifting himself out of the bleachers, he saw you approaching him with the worried look of a mother on your face. “You can’t run away from all of your problems, you know?” He didn’t need to, just this one. You understood, and held him in your arms while he cried of how embarrassed he was. You skipped the rest of your classes for the day, walking home with him after the final school bell rang. You made sure he had a glass of water by his bed before you left him as he fell into his bed. His mother gave you a hug before you left, whispering in your ear “you will be such a good wife some day.”
He’s 7, sat huffing on the side walk with two skinned knees. Unsure if he’s crying because he’s angry, or angry because he’s crying. That stupid jerk from the 9th grade had pushed him while he was trying to skateboard, stealing his board and leaving him bloody and humiliated. He didn’t want to walk home, knowing his mom would give him the fifth degree for losing the board she didn’t even want to buy him in the first place. “I thought you were doing a good job before,” you muttered as you plopped yourself down next to him. “You’re better than that idiot, that’s probably why he took your board. So he could practice some more. He’s a loser.” He stared at you in confusion. “I’m Y/N, by the way,” he stared at your hand outstretched to him. “I’m Daniel. You can call me Danny, though.” He shook your hand.
He’s 24, understanding just how big of a mistake he had made with his life.
------------------------------------------
“Did she say where she was staying?,” Danny was panting, out of breath from crying harder as he ran back inside to find Josh again.
“Uh, not specifically. Just said her fiancé lived near the river. I’d guess those apartments by- hey, Dan, wait, don’t-“ Josh couldn’t finish his thought as Danny was sprinting out of the front door, jumping into his car.
He drove to the river, looking at GPS on his phone, seeing all of the apartment buildings in the area, all of the houses and condos, he felt his shoulders deflate with defeat and his eyes fill with tears once again.
A knock on his window startled him, his head springing up to look at the passenger side of his car.
“Daniel?”
“Holy fuck.”
“Hi, Daniel,” you laughed, mostly in disbelief as he scrambled out of his car.
“I missed you so fucking much,” he crushed you against his chest, fingers not able to sit still — squeezing into your sides, tangling into your hair, grasping at the back of your sweatshirt, like he thought you’d vanish if he let you break away from him.
“Yeah, I missed you too, Dan,” you did, that was true. The bitterness that you sat with for a while had vanished long ago. “It’s been so crazy to watch your career. I am so fucking proud of you,” you pushed him away from you to look into his eyes, showing him you really meant it.
“You have purple hair,” his eyes were roaming over your appearance, he’s taking so much in at once and he’s overwhelmed.
“Indeed I do, thanks for observing,” you laughed, pushing him further away from you. “Would you like to come in?” You waved your hand in the general direction of the apartment complex across the street.
Hm. Even with no address, no idea of where he was going or what he was looking for, he had found you. He felt proud of that, universal pull or intuition or soulmate attraction or something.
“I’d love to but- I don’t want to- Josh told me-” he didn’t want to say the words again.
“Josh told you that I’m engaged? What a fucking rat. Um, yeah, so, this is actually his apartment but he’s out of town so. Yeah, no worries about running into him or anything, if that’s what you’re worried about.”
He simply nodded, letting you lead the way.
“What were you doing in this area anyway? Josh said you live all the way on the other side of town,” you left him to get comfy on the couch as you grabbed some drinks from the kitchen.
“You asked him about me?,” he stared at the tattoo on your wrist as you handed him a beer. The letters scrolled honey across your skin.
“Okay, I know a lot of time has passed but I think I still know you pretty well and I know this conversation will go absolutely nowhere because your brain is scattered right now. So, ask what you want to ask. Say what you want to say. Get the elephant out of the room, okay?,” you could hardly look into his eyes, knowing he had been crying, wondering if you were the reason why his face was red and puffy.
“You’re engaged? Who is he?,” Danny was quick to spit it out, the question fucking killing him since he heard Josh utter the word.
“His name is Jason, he’s a wonderful guy. Everything you always told me I deserved. Here,” you scooted the photo album that lay on the coffee table closer to him. He realized he hadn’t even taken in his surroundings, snatching up the book and flipping it open so he could see who this man was.
“I didn’t tell Josh where I was staying,” you mumbled. He left that unanswered as he thumbed through the photo book quickly, absorbing as much of these memories as he could, seeing so much of your life that he had missed out on.
“When did you guys meet?,” he needed to know how long this had been happening, somehow he thought that might ease the ache that was spreading in his chest.
“2018. He worked at the tattoo shop that I started going to, and he sat with me in the parking lot one night after a tattoo and we talked for hours. He wanted to know why I was in such a rush to change myself, asked about the word I had him put on my wrist,” your thumb mindlessly brushed over the area as you spoke. “I told him all about you.”
Danny’s eyes snapped up to meet yours, breaking away from watching the motion of your fingers. “What?”
“Well, it was you, after all,” you laughed. “God, I loved you so much Daniel. I really, truly thought it was going to be us. The day you told me you were leaving, I knew. I would never be enough. You were going to have this huge, spectacular life, and I’ve just been happy to see it from the sidelines. I really am proud of you,” you reached over to wipe his tears before you wiped your own, forever putting him before yourself.
“It is us, honey. I swear it is. That’s why I found you tonight,” a sob fell out of his mouth, “I love you. I love you so much and I always have and I’m so fucking sorry I let you go. I should have never sent that last message, it wasn’t what I wanted but I thought it was best and now I’m a fucking wreck because you’re engaged and I can’t watch you marry someone that isn’t me.”
The silence the two of you sat in was full of pain, yearning, regret, and worst of all - disconnect.
“Daniel, I’m in love with Jason. I haven’t been in love with you in a long time. You coming here and making these statements isn’t going to change that, honey.”
“Can I come?,” his voice was weak, he sounded like a child just shot down from getting his favorite treat.
“To the wedding? You don’t want that, Daniel,” your voice was still full of intent, getting your point across, but shaking as you let your emotions take root.
“You think you aren’t enough for me?”
“What?,” you let out a light laugh at his not so subtle questioning. His mind truly is everywhere and nowhere tonight.
“That’s what you said, a minute ago. You said you knew you would never be enough. You’re wrong. So fucking wrong it’s despicable. You’re everything. You were too good for me, always were too good for me. From the first day we met and you cared more than my own mother about my banged up knees and making sure I wasn’t upset about what that dick Greg O’Connell said to me- you cared about me. Far more than I ever deserved, honestly. Far more than I ever showed you how much I cared. I did, though, I do. I always will care so much about you. I’ll always find you, GPS be damned. Your soul rests with mine and that is something no one can ever take from me. He can take you, marry you, make a family with you. But your soul will always be for me. We’ll find each other again. Maybe the next trip around the Sun. I want to go to the wedding, I want to know and feel that pain, let it hurt enough that I remember it the next time. In the next life, I’ll remember that knife in my fucking chest and I’ll never be selfish enough to let you go again.”
------------------------------------------
As much as everyone, yourself included, agreed it was a bad idea, the following summer you invited Danny and the guys to the wedding. They sat third row from the back on your side, they cheered the loudest when you kissed your husband for the first time. Never able to mistake Josh’s loud whoops or Jake’s wolf whistle for anyone else. As you walked down the aisle to your future, you locked eyes with Daniel. The smile on his face was genuine. So were the tears rolling down his face. You scrunched your nose at him, he returned it immediately. A signal through the years of silently saying I love you, and in this case a thank you for all of the years passed and growth done.
Three weeks later, you sat on the floor of your living room watching a shuffling playlist of music videos on YouTube, sifting through and opening gifts that were left for you and your husband at your wedding. A stack of blank thank you cards sat on the coffee table, writing a personalized one for every person. Opening a sky blue gift bag, pulling out the white stuffing paper, your eyes landed on a white card envelope first. Only your name scrolled across the front, you opened it to begin reading- interrupted by a quick glance toward the TV where ‘Light My Love’ by Greta Van Fleet just begun to play.
Tumblr media
Beneath it, encased still in the original plastic box, the boutonniere that he donned the night of Junior prom. A pink rose, dusted with gold, now dried and partially crumbled. You hugged it to your chest, rising from your spot on the floor and wandering to the bookshelves across the room. Ever so gently, as not to jostle it anymore, you reached up on your tip toes to place the gift on the shelf. Right next to the framed photo of yourself and Daniel at graduation.

Do you have any blurbs or anything in your drafts you would be willing to share??
this one didn't make the cut but here is a little Danny blurb:
You always loved that Danny had a soft side when it came to nature. Your small cottage house had some walking paths behind it, and with you being so close to your due date you wanted to hopefully get Jude ready for delivery. Doctor Collins said light exercise such as walking would be good for you, so you two decided to go for a walk. . . every single day.
On the first day, it was fine, nice getting some exercise after sitting in bed for so long. It was just a small walk around the block. On the second day, you did the same block and a little bit further. By day four you were tired of walking and just wanted to sit on the couch and eat chips.
“Babe! Let’s go for a walk!” Danny said, walking into the living room a bright smile on his face. He stopped, taking in your frame on the couch. Celery sticks rested on your bump, a jar of peanut butter next to you, while you were watching a movie.
You paused the movie and glared at him, “No. I’m tired of fucking walking. I just wanna watch Encanto for the thousandth time and eat celery. Actually, no I don’t want to eat celery, it’s disgusting, but you said I can’t have hot cheetos.”
“They’re bad for you.”
“Fuck off, Daniel.”
Danny nodded, knowing that your mood would shift soon and you would be crying for him to come cuddle you. He barely got over the threshold of the kitchen when you were calling back to him. He walked back in, a smirk on his face as he leaned against the door.
“Sam’s at the studio. . . can we go?” You asked shyly. Danny chuckled, walking over to you and helping you up from your spot on the couch, letting the celery sticks roll off your bump and fall on the floor.
“Yes, it’s probably the last time either of us will be in there for awhile,” Danny said.
His words made you sad, and happy at the same time. You were sad because you would miss going to the studio every day either dropping off coffee for the boys, bringing them dinner, or spending late nights sitting on the couch watching them mess around. You could remember those very early days where they were getting their every cent worth of time in the studio. There were nights where every single one of you would end up crashing on a free couch or the floor, completely spent from working from sun up till sun down.
But you were also happy, knowing the next time you’d go to the studio you would be bringing along a new member to the crew. You guys had dreamed of the day when you would take your child to the studio, having them sit on your lap, watching their father and uncles in awe of their talent. Watching them grow up right before your eyes in the studio, hoping that they would have the same musical talent as their father.
