i finally finished to stand divided so i can post and talk about my go nitro oc now!! more info under the read more beware of heavy spoilers!!!
in book 2 there is a security guard simply named d'arco that i have decided is daniel's dad. he gets nearly killed by mask, later found out to have been jed, acting on behalf of the real mask.
after that, redman comes to talk to their family to pay for the hospital bills on behalf of the nitros for what happened, and during this visit daniel asks about the nitro program.
redman eventually accepts daniel into the program with his dad's permission and 2 years later, here he is. his lightning scars are from when he was learning to use his powers and they reversed up into his arm, traveling up to his eye causing it to change colors.
he's the youngest nitro, when he's ready to be a part of the team they're all around the age of 23-24 i think? but this is almost by design. his role in the group is to secretly report everything they do or talk about to redman, especially any secrets or hints of otrolium poisoning. they don't want a repeat of what happened/is happening with nick and uranium.
the other nitros dont know about this however and happily accept daniel, though they are very protective of him and baby him a lot, which he is annoyed by.
personality wise he's very bubbly and carefree, moreso than diego and dante even. it's very difficult to get a rise out of him, he just thinks getting angry or upset is a waste of energy.

Gabrielle Anwar and Billy Wirth in Body Snatchers (Abel Ferrara, 1993)
Cast: Gabrielle Anwar, Terry Kinney, Meg Tilly, Billy Wirth, Reilly Murphy, Christine Elise, R. Lee Irmey, Kathleen Doyle, Forest Whitaker, G. Elvis Phillips. Screenplay: Raymond Cistheri, Larry Cohen, Stuart Gordon, Dennis Paoli, Nicholas St. John, based on a novel by Jack Finney. Cinematography: Bojan Bazelli. Production design: Peter Jamison. Film editing: Anthony Redman. Music: Joe Delia.
Abel Ferrara's version of Jack Finney's novel The Body Snatchers is nothing if not economical. The economy extends to the title: Don Siegel's 1956 version and Philip Kaufman's 1978 one were called Invasion of the Body Snatchers; Ferrara even drops the definite article. The story, too, has been pared down. Ferrara's version sets the story on a military base in Alabama instead of the urban California of the previous films. It also shifts the focus to a teenage girl, Marti Malone (Gabrielle Anwar), who comes with her family to the base when her father (Terry Kinney) is sent there by the EPA to investigate chemical pollution. The dynamic of a rebellious adolescent in a military culture is perfect for the conflict between individualism and conformity, the theme that unites all of the versions of Finney's story. In addition to her father, Marti's dysfunctional family consists of her stepmother, Carol (Meg Tilly), whom she dislikes, and her young half-brother, Andy (Reilly Muphy), who annoys her. Andy is the first to sense that something is seriously wrong in their new home when, during an art class at day care, all the other kids produce identical finger paintings. As they hold up their paintings, the teacher murmurs approvingly at each one until she comes to a halt at Andy's, which is unique. She clearly disapproves. One by one, the fact that people are being somehow replaced by identical but emotionless beings becomes clear. Ferrara is not particularly interested in the mechanics of invasion and transformation that took up more narrative space in the previous films. We get some nicely disgusting body horror scenes, but the response of Marti to the alien takeover is what drives the plot as she teams up with a handsome young helicopter pilot named Tim (Billy Wirth) to fight off the invaders. Tim's stoic military manner keeps us unsure whether he's not already one of the pod people, an ambiguity that persists until the end of the movie. Body Snatchers is a good rethinking of material whose previous versions are now considered classics. The source material was mined again for a fourth version, The invasion (Oliver Hirschbiegel, 2007), which starred Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig but bombed with the critics.

okay, so i'm making a Thing (attempting to set up one of those poll tournaments, with hbowar characters) but i haven't watched gen kill properly, so i don't know which characters i should include, except for ray person, apparently.
this is my list of gen kill characters that seem at least vaguely relevant:
would you be able to tell me who i shouldn't include, and who i should, or if i've missed any of them?
(my criteria for inclusion is, for the most part, "would people who have watched the show remember this character?")
so, yes. thank you so much for the offer of help! hopefully this whole thing makes a decent amount of sense, and sorry if it's, like, a Lot. 💙
hey hey hey!! i will divide them into a few groups based on how much i see them being mentioned outside of the show/book itself! i don't see any characters not mentioned that i think you should include, your list is really extensive already as far as major and recurring characters.
i would categorize them like this:
fan favorites: ray person, walt hasser, james trombley (controversial), nate fick, doc bryan, poke espera, rudy reyes, pappy patrick and brad colbert
really liked by the fandom but have less screentime: q-tip, gabe garza, jason lilley, evan wright, gunny wynn, john christenson and eandro baptista
i see them being talked about sometimes: bryan patterson (I would say he'd also fit in the above category), manimal jacks, james chaffin, teren holsey, meesh, eric kocher, dirty earl
generally disliked as a character and therefore memorable: encino man, captain america, casey kasem, john sixta
i have never seen someone talk about them outside of like a few times on reddit or something: cody scott, daniel redman, hector leon, john burris, michael stinetorf, nathan christopher, smith, trevor darnold, rich barrett, alex aubin, todd eckloff, damon fawcett
if i have missed any on the list, let me know and i'll add them in the categories!

Hi, Fukase anon here! Sorry, It never occurred to me that people may have a hard time coming up with things for characters they don't know a lot about. Sorry :( /gen
Anyways, I really love the clown and red theme ideas! Also, since Vocaloid is technically a music software, I was thinking some music-themed names as well! Also, as long as this isn't too specific, could you maybe do some X-themed things since there's a lot of Xs in his design?
I also like the idea of the darker, edgier themes, but I'd rather not have anything explicitly horror/slasher/demon related... as someone who kins Fukase, being associated with that stuff brings back some rough memories :( /nm
I'm sorry if I'm being too specific or picky or anything like that, and I hope everything I've said makes sense! Once again, thank you in advance :)

"Born Into Trouble as the Sparks Fly Upward."
The Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band
2001, Constellation (Bandcamp)

NOVARA JAZZ 2022: GIUSEPPE CARDONI, “WORLD OF SOUND” DI DANIELE CAVALLANTI

Bride of Chucky:
For ten years, the tortured soul of serial killer Charles Lee Ray has been imprisoned inside a child's doll. Chucky (Brad Dourif) is reborn when his old flame, Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly), rescues his battered doll parts from a police impound. But Chucky wants his favorite playmate cut down to size, so he transforms his blushing bride into a stunning little terror. Chucky and Tiffany can't wait to start their own homicidal honeymoon. When this demonic duo hits the road and hooks up with a pair of unsuspecting newlyweds, they leave a trail of murder and mayhem behind them.
Seed of Chucky:
Everyone's favorite killer doll returns and the Chucky legacy continues with the introduction of a new family member! This time around, Chucky (Brad Dourif) and his homicidal honey, Tiffany, are brought back to life by their orphan offspring, Glen. Then, the horror goes Hollywood as Chucky unleashes his own brand of murderous mayhem!
Curse of Chucky:
He's back! From the filmmakers that brought you Chucky comes the terrifying return of the pint-sized doll possessed by the spirit of a notorious serial killer. When a mysterious package arrives at the house of Nica (Fiona Dourif, True Blood), she doesn't give it much thought. However, after her mother's mysterious death, Nica begins to suspect that the talking, red-haired doll her visiting niece has been playing with may be the key to the mounting bloodshed and chaos. The return of America's favorite toy, voiced again by Brad Dourif, is full of blood-splattered thrills and chills!
Cult of Chucky:
Confined to an asylum for the criminally insane for the past four years, Nica (Fiona Dourif) is wrongly convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But after her psychiatrist introduces a new group therapy tool – a "Good Guy" doll – a string of grisly deaths plague the asylum and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn't crazy after all. Andy (Alex Vincent), Chucky's now-grown-up nemesis from the original Child's Play, races to Nica's aid. But to save her he'll have to get past Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly), Chucky's long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved devil doll.
Pre-order Bride of Chucky, Seed of Chucky, Curse of Chucky, and Cult of Chucky.

My Top Albums/EPs of 2023
It's that time.
It's a tradition of mine to post my end-of-the-year music list. I used to get music questions + recommendations all the time. This goes back to the days of the Hypster Music Player we used to have on our pages (remember those lol) before the DMCA roll out.
As a heads up, I'm a violinist with a BFA in Music and Audio Production. I'm a timbre listener first 🤷🏽♀️. No surprise there. Some people listen to music for the lyrics first, melody first, a catchy hook first, etc. I'm a tone color and texture person as it relates to vocality, instrumentation, and the arrangement/combination of frequencies altogether. (For more on that and how you can confirm/discover what kind of listener you are, this book, which I reviewed, is a go-to.)
Here's my list of albums you may know and some that'll be your first introduction. I had a number of honorable mentions, but this is already long enough 🙃 lol. Enjoy!
