QUICK WHO DO YOU FANCAST AS ELAYNE

Hmmm. I have given this some thought in the past, but also I don’t have a wide knowledge of actors/people to use as faceclaims.

I listen to a lot of Florence and the Machine, so Florence Welch is a pretty good one. The only problem is she’s a bit too old (considering Elayne dies at 18/19 and Florence Welch is 36). I have seen younger pictures of her, and they’re basically what I imagine (except for hair, she’s just got straight hair without bangs). (The picture of her in the High as Hope album cover is so POV: You’re Aegon being looked at disapprovingly by your sister-in-law).

I do like to draw, so I have been very tempted to draw something up for her, but I have a hard time with likenesses.

I think at one point I also considered Daisy Ridley from that one Ophelia movie? But only because she’s the only red-headed faceclaim I could think of at the time.

So I guess tl;dr, young Florence Welch, or Florence Welch as depicted on the cover of High As Hope

Background: Adelaide and her brother Atlas were born in Australia because of their dad's work which moved the family there from the United States for about 4 years. They moved back to the states when she was 2 years old. Her older brother Rowan, is the most protective of her out of everyone in the family and has been the most supportive person in her life in her opinion. When she told him that she wanted to become a doctor, he did his best to be there for her, every step of the way. He is also a doctor, so he helped to teach her about becoming a doctor. He jumped for joy when she told him that she was going to be completing her residency at Mass Kenmore and possibly staying there once it was done (even though he works at Edenbrook). Her older sister was the sibling that she got along with the least (because sisters). They are and we're still really close, but not like how she is with her brothers. Atlas was and still is her all time best friend. They talk about everything together and they know that the other one will always be there for them as long as they're alive. Her family was also very well off, so she was used to a lot of things that we're normal for a lot of people. She didn't realize how appreciative she should have been about it until she was on her own. She is very close with her family and is very grateful for what she has now. She dated a little here and there during high school, university, and med school but she only had one serious relationship, which was from her senior year of high school till her the end of her junior year of college. She kind of ruled out dating for a while because the guy she was in the serious relationship with cheated on her for months without her knowing. It changed once she met Tobias.

Lotus knew Distirct 3 didn’t do well in the games, she had watched countless people from her home be killed and very few win. She wanted to avoid that. She hoped to never be reaped and she hoped for her family to never be reaped, and she succeeded. She was never reaped and her close friends and family weren’t reaped. But her parents did die, and it was hard to have good pay just by making the technology for the Capitol so once she was 18, she became a Peacekeeper. Training was hard, and she wasn’t very well liked by her commanding officers which sent her to District 12. Which may have been a blessing in disguise, yes District 12 was poorer but it wasn’t as important to most of the Capitol and as a result, they were more lax with what they enforced. She got to have as close to friends as allowed, and then Katniss and Peeta won the games. Then Cray disappeared, good riddance on most of the women’s part, but replaced him was Romulus, who was a lot harsher on the people that she had been growing close to and when she stepped in to stop him from nearly killing Gale, she got punished. When her new home was firebombed, she was taken to District 13 and was happy to help

BACKGROUND:

She would be the daughter of Thea and Kieran Declan. She is between 7 to 9 years younger than Ashton. The age difference created a rift between the two before the games were even a factor. He grew up helping their mom take care of her like a parent might. Their father was always busy, and their mother was sick. When he won the 113th biannual hunger games, she was between 9 and 11, and he was 18. He was not a career, and there was only one career that volunteered, but it wasn't for him. He came home, but he was barely home, and when he was home, he wasn't the same as he left weeks earlier, a shell of himself. Loved but absent -- he became a ghost. This only widened the rift between them. He pushed her away for a long time before keeping her at arm's length for longer. But as Ash learned to cope, bear the things he'd done, and reach back out, they started to grow closer again, especially in the last 5 years. Having money made a huge difference. Their father could afford to stop working and help more around the house. She could afford any kind of schooling she wanted, but she wasn't ever enrolled in the academy, Ash pushed against the thought, but he's taught her all he knows in his free time. His distaste for the games is clear at home, and he's never wanted her involved in any capacity. That clearly didn't go as planned–.
