oh yeah if they put Witch Kiriko in the Credits shop for Halloween then. well uh. RIP to her mythic skin as far as I'm concerned.

I mean I'm not like a super frequent Kiriko player, I'll usually just pick her in my rotation of not getting bored playing the same support too many matches in a row, but uh... yeah her Mythic is kind of the worst one so far by a decent margin in my book.

Also while the rest of the Season 7 pass from what we've seen so far looks kinda... mneh, gonna be honest the western gothic creepy theme isn't really landing with me, at least the (kind of unrelated besides "dark and spooky") Hanzo Mythic actually looks pretty solid. Bad news is that it's... uh... Hanzo... so uh. huh.

I'm so mad I'm not missing this one but I missed Cyber Demon Genji and Knight Tracer AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I'm so so eternally enraged I missed that one. Genji's is just cool and Tracer combines my favorite DPS character with an awesome fantasy knight theme, while Hanzo is. one of the few characters in this entire cast of nearly 40 that I don't like all that much.

I guess to get out my other Mythic thoughts (since I have all the others):

Zeus JQ: Grinded the hell out of Season 2 to just barely get this one in time and it was vaguely worth it. Gonna be stiff competition replacing this one, the effects are cool but to be honest the main appeal is just the big muscley lady getting to show off. Not a fan of the red/pink coloration but that's my only complaint.

Amaterasu Kiriko: Again, the worst Mythic so far imo, and honestly one of my least favorite out of Kiriko's skins in general. Better than her Season 1 BP skin at least, but really this one just doesn't play into Kiriko's design in any interesting ways for me, it just makes her generically fancy. The options don't really do anything for me either, all of them just slightly change the amount of "meh" it makes me feel.

Emperor Sigma: A bit mixed on this one honestly. Still like it overall, but it's got a few shortcomings that make it my second least favorite. The overall design is slick, but it's another one where the variants are a bit of a letdown. The ugly beige color option just does nothing for me, but the default black and purple is a combo I don't have much issue with sticking to. The shoulder armor options are kinda whatever, and while I love the M Bison hat plus eyepatch head, the other options are just... eh. Also, while the overhauled visual effects are fantastic, especially the tractor beam ult, there's a change I'm oddly not super fond of in this skin, that being his voice lines. This is petty, but like... I don't like how mean this skin makes him. I mean, I get that's the point, the space dictator isn't meant to be friendly, but Sigma being a calm, likeable goober most of the time despite being on the bad guy team is part of why he's such a fun character to me, so the flattened characterization is kind of jarring. let me be the silly floaty space man without all my voice lines telling my teammates to get on their knees. Overall great skin, but I have enough reasons to unequip it sometimes. Sigma's got some phenomenal skins, and even some of his Epics like his OG Talon skin are fantastic, at least to me.

Wargod Ana: Of the ones I own, this is definitely my favorite. Just in concept I adore it, of all the options to make the Null Sector mechanisation gimmick into a Mythic skin, Ana was such a cool choice. She's not a super "grandiose" character normally, but the subtle theming of this "ultimate war machine" makes her feel so cool and plays with her aesthetic in such a distinctly cool way. Shoot, the dubiously canon lore for the skin is cool too. The idea of a Null Sector bot that was made in an attempt to copy Ana's combat skill, but got corrupted because of her memories is such a cool way to reflect on Ana as a character that I'm almost a little mad Wargod isn't her own character?? This shows in the voicelines too. While Sigma's personality deviation put me off there, for Ana it feels a bit less... conflicting? Instead of taking a morally complicated but friendly character and turning him into a simple bad guy, this takes a slightly jaded but thoroughly good-hearted and good-acting character, takes her good parts away, and leaves the ruthlessness that was still there in the original. Plus, the voice lines aren't as outright mean, but feel effectively menacing. The change to "You're powered up, destroy them" is so simple and almost goofy, but feels so cool in practice. But that's not even going into the skin itself. While some other Mythics have some neat reference point for their style, Wargod Ana is just a perfect medley of the Null Sector suite of aesthetics. Each of the color variants is something used by existing PvE enemies. The designs also just feature bits and pieces of Null Sector bots too. Not only that, but the armor variants also serve as iterative upgrades. The first variant looks almost like a slicer that grew into gangly human proportions, with exposed, primitive-looking limb mechanisms. The second variant meanwhile, while my least favorite, now actually looks like a Null Sector mini-boss unit. The third one meanwhile feels like a proper character on par with Ana herself, with actual cloth over her legs and a more complex and organic-looking design overall, almost like a bride of frankenstein counterpart to Ramattra. Speaking of, her rifle options also directly reference the man himself, with the first variant having the claw-and-orb part of his Void Accelerator towards the back, while the second has a ribcage-like design reminiscent of his torso. Also points to this one for being arguably the highest percentage of variants I'd actually consider using, the middle body design is a bit meh, and looks actively kinda bleh with the third color option, but aside from that they look great. It's hard for me to swap off the default purple and white, but combining the red color with the third body variant is a hell of a combo too. There's even more great details! The audio effect changes are great as ever, especially for Nano Boost, but her gun also just sounds super satisfying to shoot too. And like!! With her beach ball emote, the beach ball is replaced with a Null Sector bomb guy's bomb!! Come on, how is this not the best Mythic yet.

...this post was just me hoping I could get Witch Kiriko without paying money and turned into an essay about Wargod Ana. oops.

anyways the next mythic skin should be King Dedede Reinhardt.

Overwatch 2 season 2 trailer reveals new Battle for Olympus mode

Overwatch 2’s second season and new tank hero Ramattra arrive on Dec. 6, and a new trailer for the free-to-play game’s new content shows what else players can expect in season 2. That includes a new Zeus-themed mythic skin for Junker Queen, Greek mythology-inspired skins for other heroes, a new Escort map, and the return of two classic Overwatch holiday events. Season 2 of Overwatch 2 will also include a new limited-time event called Battle for Olympus, which runs Jan. 5-19, 2023. The trailer doesn’t offer much in the way of specifics, but it does appear to take place on the game’s Ilios map and includes Junker Queen calling down team-wiping lightning strikes. The Greek god's theme for the game’s second battle pass appears to include new skins for Roadhog (Cyclops), Ramattra (Poseidon), Lúcio (Hermes), Widowmaker (Medusa), Reinhardt (Minotaur), and Pharah (Hades). Junker Queen’s new mythic skin will likely be the end-of-battle-pass reward, similar to Genji’s Cyber Demon skin from season 1. From what I know the cyber demon Genji skin is apparently from an alternate reality where he is now completely robotic and has no human parts left except for his consciousness and soul. This I know because of a video on gaku space's yt where he said that when he was recording The Voice lines for the cyber demon skin he was told this was an alternate universe Genji who was entirely replaced.

And considering it's a even more cyberpunk universe compared to the already cyberpunky current OverWatch, I think it would be really cool especially considering this season's theme if we had gotten either an omnic mercy or a cyborg mercy, and when I say cyborg mercy I mean it very cyborg mercy being mostly robotic parts with some human elements remaining.

Plus then you can have cyborg/omnic Gency!

And they would both have very light themed stuff because mercy obviously has a giant glowing angel wings which in one of the cinematic cutscenes in storm rising literally flash bangs people. And then cyber demon Genji his whole thing is about light and light coursing through his veins etc etc. Also considering both of them (I'm picturing mercy having a similar situation to Genji where she started off human but has eventually replaced almost everything including her face) don't have mouths they could just kind of gently head butt instead of kiss, even better if there's like a little electric zap when I do it.

Then there could also be a cute thing where as Angela is struggling to come to terms with her cybernetic body, genji's there for her the whole time and takes her to see zenyatta so she can help her like he helped Genji.

Overwatch 2 Double XP Weekend Begins to Celebrate Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is being celebrated with 2x the regular match XP for all matches played in the multiplayer game during the most recent Overwatch 2 double XP weekend. As the first season comes to an end, it means that this is a wonderful opportunity to sign up and level up your Overwatch 2 battle pass. There isn't much time left to obtain the Mythic Cyber Demon Genji skin because the Overwatch 2 season 2 release date is December 6. An Overwatch 2 double XP weekend runs November 24-28. This is expected to fall on the usual daily reset times of 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm GMT / 8pm CET. Players will earn double match experience from all games played during the event period, making it much faster to level up your battle pass. New players may also be able to use this as an opportunity to unlock support hero Kiriko, who requires reaching level 55 unless you decide to purchase the premium battle pass. There are also currently free highlight intros being given out for logging in, with the Junker Queen ‘Five Fingers’ highlight intro available from November 21-26, and the Kiriko ‘On The Wind’ highlight intro being handed to players who log in between November 26-30. If you are looking to spend some money on this free game, the ongoing Battlenet Black Friday sale provides a good opportunity to do so. Yu Yan is a mysterious entity that was born in-- 

...no one knows much about.

Studies at Yokae have revealed that he is heavily aligned with the infernal element, and that he was Jurou’s guide through what can only be called ‘hell’, after he died during a knife fight at 16. 

Ju’s soul had left his body and turned up in Xiu; a realm Yu Yan created where low-level yokai live safely from more powerful predators.

While not usually much of a threat, those entities could easily devour a human’s soul--and Yu Yan could tell it wasn’t Jurou’s time.

He chased off those attempting to eat him, and took up the task of guiding Jurou to a dimensional door where he could resurrect. The journey there would take weeks in the human realm, and it was during that time the two got to know one another.

Specifically...Yu Yan sensed that the boy was a spirit rod, who would constantly attract supernatural forces his way.

He knew that the second he left his side, more shit would go down and the guy would have no one around to help him. He’d wind back up in Xiu and they’d have do this all over again.

And so...reluctantly...Yu Yan asked if Jurou would want him to stay at his side, as a sentinel against would-be threats.

It pleasantly surprised him when he agreed.

This ‘agreement’ is a karmic binding that grants Jurou the ability to use magic in exchange for the spirit’s feasting on his energy.

Yu Yan jokingly likes to call this contact their marriage, and often refers to Ju as his wife--despite the rain of bullets he gets in response.

The yokai from Xiu often appear in Jurou’s apartment as well, begging for training from Yu Yan or for attention from Ju. Those that are particularly brave (and stupid) will refer to the black hair as ‘mother’ for a high enough bribe. 

Thus, the neighbors around the apartment building hear a lot of ‘I’M NOT YOUR FUCKING MOTHER!’ during the week. But only Jurou hear’s the demon’s barking laughter.

Facts

+ He may seem nonchalant toward Ju, but Yu Yan extremely serious about his safety and overall well-being. He wishes he would listen to him more often.

+ The cyber war was absolute torture for him. He not only had a hard time trying to guard Jurou from cyber based threats, (something the demon isn’t used to) but his yokai kept insisting on appearing in battles as well--refusing to leave he or Ju’s side while they were in danger.

While extremely touching, the weakened beings were no match against the insanely powerful attacks being thrown...and many of them perished.

No matter how desperately he’d yelled for them to retreat, their loyalty wouldn’t allow it. And ever since, Yu Yan has carried a great melancholy in his heart.

+ He likes for Chanty to be safe as well, even though she can’t see him. Other than Ju, no normal human can--only beings of magic or a high spiritual frequency.

+ Saya is an odd topic for him. On one hand, he’s fascinated by her abilities; on the other, he’s scorned by how effortlessly she wins Jurou’s affection--without even realizing it.

+ His hobbies include eating, trying to calm people’s tits, watching movies about feudal Japan, aggravating Ju, and patrolling Xiu.
