Apologies for continuing silence (those of you still wanting to interact, lol) I'm in the process of packing. My wife and I are relocating back to her home state due to a parent having been diagnosed with Stage IV cancer. We're currently in the middle of packing, getting our cards ready for the 2,300 mile trip. Please know that I AM intending to return to this blog. I'm also on my reserve laptop, as my desktop officially died back in the last part of January.
Just, between this, working over forty hours at my job per week. (I'm also losing this job, and looking from WFH- so if anyone has any leads, please let me know.)- and also doing grad school, I'm perpetually exhausted.
Thank you for staying here, and thank you for checking on me.
-regards
Jazzmun.

go to the dermatologist!
Despite the grossness of my prior post, I did have a phenomenal medical care experience this very morning! I'm a very pale/burnable person and multiple friends (including two who experienced skin cancer, one in their early thirties and one in their early forties [thankfully both are totally healthy now]) have told me that I really shouldn't just rely on a quick check from my GP every so often but should get a full-body checkup at a dermatologist. (This goes for anyone of any race or skin tone--I mention how pale I am because I live in a place where I'm exposed to a lot of really intense sun.)
I finally made good on my promise to go to a dermatologist and I have to say, the one I found was probably the kindest, easiest to talk to, funniest health care provider I've ever seen in this city. (Like I was thinking that if I'd met her in a coffee shop or bar, I'd totally want to be her friend.)
I am lucky ("lucky") to have good insurance through my employer (access to quality health care should, of course, be a fundamental human right), and it was easier than I expected to find a derm in-network who is not a part of the big gross local healthcare monopoly that I'm trying to get away from using whenever I can.
After checking in, I was shown to an appointment room. Several floors above the parking lot, I undressed before a large window overlooking my former place of employment. Weird.
Once berobed, I answered a few follow-up questions based on the medical information I'd provided.
We made small talk while the doctor examined nearly every inch of my scalp, face, and body, ranging in topics from the delicious cuisines of a nearby city to professional occupations to the indignities of acne scarring from random pimples acquired in ones thirties to the reason I have a massive surgical scar on my abdomen! My skin and current moles/birthmarks/etc. were pronounced "boring." (YAY!)
I elected to pay $75 to have a "cosmetic procedure" done to zap away a skin tag (I'm so sorry you're reading the words "skin tag" right now but it's a thing people get!).
I'm fine! I will return in two years! And if I wasn't fine, I'd be under an amazing doctor's care.
(I really hope someone reads this and decides to get their own skin examined. It's the largest organ your body has! It's got you covered, so make sure you get it covered!)

I'm so glad that I decided to go on break early because despite knowing she was trying to leave early, my coworker neglected to tell me... even though it impacts me the most. The other girl I don't like who doesn't like me is staying until 5pm and apparently the girl I kind of get along with will try to stay an extra hour but this still leaves me alone tonight for two hours. 🤦‍♀️
Shit communication, and they all act like I'm faking my own symptoms.
No, I'm not faking. I might have bladder cancer you fucking tools.
I've had 5 urinalysis' done in the last two months, two ultrasounds, and have a scope scheduled. Spent like two hours at the ER on black Friday after calling a doctor's office all week with no call back. Only for them to call me an hour and a half before closing to make me go to the ER.
Their utter lack of empathy for me and pushing work off on me is making me bitter and miserable, and I hate it. I also have two autoimmune diseases, which act up when I'm not feeling well and a coworker I like got on my ass last night because my stomach got upset. I have colitis? I cannot do a bland diet for the rest of my life. Sorry, my stomach was upset for 15 fucking minutes. My body reacts to stress and external stimulus like other ailments or a dip in my immune system. I don't just get an upset stomach because of my diet.

//This post touches on subject matter that includes the following: Mentions of cancer and death. I’m putting it under the cut due to such matters. This is merely a slight vent post. Might be deleted at a later date.
It just came to my attention that Bi/ll/y Kam/etz passed away from stage IV colon cancer, something that he was diagnosed with nearly a month and a half ago. His passing occurred on June 9th. He was a voice actor known for roles such as: Taku/to Mar/u/ki, Nao/fumi Iwa/tan/i, Jo/su/ke Hig/ashi/kata, Ferdin/and V/o/n Ae/gir, etc. I’m really shell shocked than anything... While I know the chances of survival in his case were more or less unknown, it still has left me shocked and extremely saddened at his passing...
My heart goes out to those around him be it his family, colleagues, friends, and even fans. He was one of my favorite vo/ice act/ors. My thoughts are especially with his family. I’m sorry for this being much shorter than I intended but... I’m just shocked. Very shocked. Like with Mi/ur/a, this will likely hit me like a truck in a few days give or take. I don’t really have time to dwell in my own feelings as I have to get through tomorrow’s work day, but... I still wanted to write this.

3.-do you like pasta?
I ADORE Pasta. <3
8.-have you had water today?
My tears counts? /hj
15.-what’s the weirdest thing that’s happened to you?
okay, cw for paranormal stuff and cancer mention (you can skip to the tl;dr or the next question):
When I was little i was...sensitive to i believe were ghosts. According to my mum i always saw people whenever i could, but my parents couldn't. So, i was like in 6th grade, and it was 8 pm. An I was alone on my school, on the third floor, usually known for 'existence of ghosts'
So, I always had a good relationships with the school personal, and there was a Janitor there, who asked me what was i doing? Potat Choco told him she was painting a flag (something we had to do for school) and he told me he would stay with me. I didn't mind cuz he seemed friendly and he moved a chair and he sat down. Later my mum came for me cuz it was too late, i told her to not worry cuz the mr janitor was with me. Mum said no one was in there. And indeed, no one was.
Flashfoward to me in 11th grade, there was a rumor (and evidence) new teachers were being haunted by some people and the description oddly reminded me of the janitor. So I went to ask my history teacher (who is in that school for like....50 years) if he knew someone with that description. He stared at me in the eye and pulled an old yearbook. Turns out, that man was an old history teacher, a colleague of my teacher, who passed away from stomach cancer. He loved dearly his students, and his classroom was on the third floor.
TL;DR: Choco saw the ghost of a dead teacher who died from cancer who made me company/protected me when i was 8.
19.-zombies or vampires?
Vampires. Hell one of my fave mangas/animes is Hellsing!
49.-what scents do you like?
Fruity, flowery, like, sweet things! Oou and fresh. Mostly sweet ones, like berries!

Aside from the obvious additive nature the worst part about shorts is that the algorithm is incapable of understanding emotional whiplash. I was watching shorts and this video came on and like what the fuck, that’s really intense.
I only share this as a way to archive/process what has been shared. I don’t recommend anyone watch this. I certainly wouldn’t have, were I given the choice.
Warning: disturbing content. Mentions death.

All right, I'm pulling back the curtain real quick for a little announcement of cheer.
I am, at this moment, in the car on my way home from my mom's final chemotherapy infusion. It's been 6 grueling cycles and as many months, and she's made it to the other side! I started this blog as a creative outlet to help me cope when she was first diagnosed; those were some of the hardest months of my life to date. I just wanted to say thank you (again, I know) to everyone who's sent me kind messages or left nice tags on my posts; you have no idea how much those little nice things helped me get through some of my hardest days.
Obviously, blog's not over and I'm going to keep making things, (and anyone who's dealt with cancer knows that chemo being over doesn't mean the cancer's completely gone), but I just. Damn, man. I'm a little overcome right now, y'know? Thanks for bein here with me y'all 💖

"The sleeping giant of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has stirred.
In the past month, an avalanche of anti-pollution rules, targeting everything from toxic drinking water to planet-heating gases in the atmosphere, have been issued by the agency. Belatedly, the sizable weight of the US federal government is being thrown at longstanding environmental crises, including the climate emergency.
On Thursday [May 18, 2023], the EPA’s month of frenzied activity was crowned by the toughest ever limits upon carbon pollution from America’s power sector, with large, existing coal and gas plants told they must slash their emissions by 90% or face being shut down.
The measure will, the EPA says, wipe out more than 600m tons of carbon emissions over the next two decades, about double what the entire UK emits each year. But even this wasn’t the biggest pollution reduction announced in recent weeks.
In April, new emissions standards for cars and trucks will eliminate an expected 9bn tons of CO2 by the mid-point of the century, while separate rules issued late last year aim to slash hydrofluorocarbons, planet-heating gases used widely in refrigeration and air conditioning, by 4.6bn tons in the same timeframe. Methane, another highly potent greenhouse gas, will be curtailed by 810m tons over the next decade in another EPA edict.
In just a few short months the EPA, diminished and demoralized under Donald Trump, has flexed its regulatory muscles to the extent that 15bn tons of greenhouse gases – equivalent to about three times the US’s carbon pollution, or nearly half of the entire world’s annual fossil fuel emissions – are set to be prevented, transforming the power basis of Americans’ cars and homes in the process...
If last year’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), with its $370bn in clean energy subsidies and enticements for electric car buyers, was the carrot to reducing emissions, the EPA now appears to be bringing a hefty stick.
The IRA should help reduce US emissions by about 40% this decade but the cut needs to be deeper, up to half of 2005 levels, to give the world a chance of avoiding catastrophic heatwaves, wildfires, drought and other climate calamities. The new rules suddenly put America, after years of delay and political rancor, tantalizingly within reach of this...
Tumblr media
“It’s clear we’ve reached a pivotal point in human history and it’s on all of us to act right now to protect our future,” said Michael Regan, the administrator of the EPA, in a speech last week at the University of Maryland. The venue was chosen in a nod to the young, climate-concerned voters Joe Biden hopes to court in next year’s presidential election, and who have been dismayed by Biden’s acquiescence to large-scale oil and gas drilling.
“Folks, this is our future we are talking about, and we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity for real climate action,” [Michael Regan, the administrator of the EPA], added. “Failure is not an option, indifference is not an option, inaction is not an option.” ...
It’s not just climate the EPA has acted upon in recent months. There are new standards for chemical plants, such as those that blight the so-called "Cancer Alley" the US, from emitting cancer-causing toxins such as benzene, ethylene oxide and vinyl chloride. New rules curbing mercury, arsenic and lead from industrial facilities have been released, as have tighter limits on emissions of soot and the first ever regulations targeting the presence of per- and polyfluoroalkylsubstances (or PFAS) in drinking water.” ...
For those inside the agency, the breakneck pace has been enervating. “It’s definitely a race against time,” said one senior EPA official, who asked not to be named. “The clock is ticking. It is a sprint through a marathon and it is exhausting.” ...
“We know the work to confront the climate crisis doesn’t stop at strong carbon pollution standards,” said Ben Jealous, the executive director of the Sierra Club.
“The continued use or expansion of fossil power plants is incompatible with a livable future. Simply put, we must not merely limit the use of fossil fuel electricity – we must end it entirely.”"

Technoblade is listed to receive the Courage Award at the Sarcoma Foundation of America’s 20th annual fundraising gala, Stand Up to Sarcoma, which will be held on September 28, 2022, at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.
Here is a link to the article.

A series of screenshots showing the listing for this year’s Courage Award from the Sarcoma Foundation of America. It reads:
“Courage Award honorees illustrate, through their personal efforts and actions, sarcoma advocacy. These individuals are patients, survivors, caregivers, and advocates who inspire others by using their platform on behalf of sarcoma patients and survivors to create hope and a better life for the sarcoma community. Many do not think they have done something special but who have inspired others and are making a difference for sarcoma patients and their families. The Courage Award honors patients who have demonstrated strength and perseverance in their sarcoma diagnosis.

Technoblade, real name: Alexander, was an American YouTuber and internet personality known for his YouTube channel, Technoblade, a Minecraft persona in the guise of a pig that he started at 14 years old. He is widely regarded by the game’s community as one of the best Minecraft players and Minecraft content creators. In the beginning, he plugged away at making videos, attracting a small but steadily growing group of followers with a goal of accumulating 10 million subscribers, an achievement reached by very few*. In July 2021 at the age of 22, after noticing pain in his right arm and a sudden lump, he was diagnosed with sarcoma and chest scans revealed metastasis to both lungs. Alex endured chemotherapy and radiation treatments, an embolization procedure tumor, and also participated in a clinical trial for the treatment, Milademetan. Throughout his sarcoma journey, he decided to use his significant platform to help support sarcoma research, even if it most likely would not gain results in time for him. His first effort for SFA was “Minecraft But Viewers Control The Game (Charity Event).” Still weak from chemotherapy, he played for almost four hours, raising over $360,000. Throughout his treatment, he continued to do more for research, and made February 2022 his own Sarcoma Awareness Month, raising an additional $150,000. In total, Technoblade rallied his followers to raise over $1 million for sarcoma research. Unfortunately, tests revealed that his sarcoma had continued to grow and the masses in his lungs had begun pressing against his heart. He died in June of 2022, shortly after his 23rd birthday, at home, surrounded by his family. The public reaction to the announcement of his death was overwhelming. And rather than focus on what an amazing gamer he was, or how smart or how funny he was, instead people talked about his kindness and his generosity. People spoke about how much his videos helped them through a difficult time in their lives. Other well-known YouTubers such as Dream, expressed their admiration for him. Simon Collins-Laflamme, the co-founder of Hypixel, and business magnate Elon Musk expressed similar feelings. YouTube posted its condolences to his family, friends, and fans and Technoblade was described as “one of Minecraft’s most celebrated personalities.” Mojang Studios, the creators of Minecraft said that Technoblade “became synonymous with a source of good.” Even now, people are still quoting his oft-repeated catchphrases, including, “Technoblade never dies.”
*In June 2022, Technoblade’s channel had reached 10.8 million subscribers and in August 2022, it posthumously reached fifteen million subscribers.”

I don’t want to bring up drama from communities I only passively observe, but Technoblade will always be very near to my heart. So I find it kinda weird what dream is doing right now.
I am obviously not the biggest dream fan, so there’s bias there but seeing him use Techno’s legacy for a music video gives me the ick. Especially having a actor play techno in his hospital bed.
I’m sure he’s talked this over with techno’s dad, and I can’t speak like I know techno beter then dream- but something about this feels wrong. Especially with the cartoony costumes and stuff, it’s like making a drama out of this real death that happened.
Also the proceeds BETTER go to charity. He’s rich enough. Especially with all the other stuff with him seemingly not donating to the charity with the whole one of us event.
Kinda just wish dream wasn’t associated with techno
