Heket can't talk very well, and Kallamar can't hear very well...

Spoiler for COTL post-game

I see lots of people represent mutism for Heket since, well, her throat is ripped out. But I see less deaf representation for our dear Kallamar, who's ears have been demolished. I feel like the two both sign, and would grow closer because of it.

I love to think they gossip to one another through sign language, but mostly about Leshy who can't see them very visibly talking about him lol

Anyway, the signs for each read "stupid" and "true/correct" (Auslan).

✿ He was surprised at first, thinking he misheard you

✿ It took a few tries before he finally believed you weren’t messing with him

✿ He would check in on you more than he used to in case you needed him

✿ Would spend the nights cuddling with you though and listening for the baby’s heartbeat

✿ Ends up becoming more affectionate, nuzzling into you, and overall more touchy

✿ Quick to show up if you even slightly sound like you’re in pain or call for him

𖥧 Accepted it pretty quickly, not questioning you much

𖥧 Makes sure you are well fed and sometimes even cooks for you herself

𖥧 Did become overprotective quite a bit, excusing her actions as wanting to keep the baby safe… many followers were lost for being too close to her comfort

𖥧 Helps with any cravings you end up having no matter how strange they might end up being

𖥧 Do expect a lot of surprise visits from her when she isn’t busy

𖥧 When both of you are in bed she will end up touching your stomach a lot and talking about the baby’s future

COTL Heket brainstorming + religious ramble about Gluttony

Thinking about the forms sins can manifest as in order to develop my versions of the Bishops...............

I been thinking a lot bout Heket specifically since someone pointed out that she could be sexually experienced, for Gluttony could involve taking pleasure in all forms of consumption (at least thats the way I saw it based on this idea-)

Which brings me to understand this sin as a whole tbvh, I always knew that every sin had many ways of manifesting themselves, but I never saw Gluttony as smtng beyond actions related to food. So Ive come to this understanding: Gluttony is the never-ending search for smtng to appease this hollowness inside of you. No matter what you put inside your body, ure never able to fill in the gap. This then allows this sin to extend to emotional dependence, drug usage, sexual addiction, anxiety-induced hunger and so on

Which brings me to the assumption that, based on my understanding of this, my Heket is very miserable Ever since becoming a Crown Bearer, she slowly developed a feeling that something was missing and was always trying to fill it in with whatever that she deemed to bring joy. Sacrifices, food, some sexual experiences here and there, but nothing ever actually made her feel genuinely happy. As time went by, she started to not enjoy the taste of things anymore, every food tasted the same and every other pleasure felt meaningless, like it was all on automatic. A chore she felt the need to fulfill, but not because she really wanted to

When she became a follower and the first thing she felt was hunger, I like to think that, this time, it felt real. She felt like it ached more than usual, like it wasnt some pain she had to make sure to medicate once in a while. This time she was actually hungry and craving to be "medicated" And once she had her food - offered by the Lamb - she finally felt that emptiness filling in a little. Finally tasted the food that was in her mouth again and remembered what it felt like to feel something Needless to say, I think she would cry once full. Involuntarily, but also happy to be feeling even that

Ofc she wouldnt admit to this, especially in front of the Lamb, but a part of her is really relieved to finally be free from the Crown of Famine's influence

The numbness she experienced for millenia surely left its scars, but I think Heket would be the most excited Bishop when in the face of new emotions and experiences, now truly taking pleasure in them

What are your cotl headcanons?

I have so many- mostly about the lamb's personality and backstory

so much trauma having to do with being sacrificed. especially because lambs are considered sacrificial beings so they probably had this "the only reason I'm here is to die" mentality from and early age. it's bc of this that wearing the crown was probably the first time they ever felt truly alive, and bc of this they're definitely very attached to it

they're an optimist at heart, sometimes a little too optimistic but that's okay because they're immortal

also if the GIANT STATUE in the middle of the cult plus the other decorations you can build in their image say anything about their personality, I think they're definitely a little self-centered and absolutely love being worshipped

this doesn't apply to the defiance au very much bc they are very clouded by anger and sadness but yeah this is them normally👍

General Leshy Headcanons 🌿💚

Some bush man thoughts, it's always fun to write for chaotic characters. I'll do other headcanons for the other bishops, but are there any other characters that anyone would like to see from Cult of the lamb? Let me know, I got too many thoughts about this game lol

🌿Naughty teenage boy energy trapped in an eldritch god body would be the best way to describe Leshy. Though he definitely isn’t as immature or childish as some might expect from the youngest of the Bishops. He knows right from wrong, good from bad, but what’s the fun in being a stable benevolent god?

“The answer is none, my darling. Living so long without the nightly pit fights would be rather dull, don’t you agree?”

🌿Favorite thing to do is spontaneously do things. Even if it's something as small as changing where he was going to sit originally when going into a room. He will never have a set schedule for anything, even if the activity is a daily occurrence.

🌿Doing this in turn leaves his followers always on their toes, never truly knowing when the bell will go off to signal their Bishops gathering call. Seeing them scramble and trip to get into in the temple always makes him giggle with malice.

🌿Somehow always has a dumb pickup line to throw your way. His humor is Juvenile, but like all of his siblings has a morbid and dark twist to it. His favorite tormenting tactic is to grow damp flowers on the seats of chairs just before people sit down.

🌿 You cannot count how many times you have gone to sit down, only to be jolted out of your seat with a wet spot on your robe. It will never not make him laugh, and will never deny that you are his favorite being to do it too. 💚

My follower design of The One Who Waits/Narinder! With a couple design notes for his position in the Cult of New Haven. Plus, a cute little height difference between my Lamb Oc and Narinder for scale. I'll probably line up the rest of the followers too, once I've drawn them.

Alternative text of design notes and other thoughts below the cut:

Eye scar is a new addition to Narinder's collection: The Lamb slashed at it for good measure during their final confrontation.

Chain and neck scars are from his imprisonment.

Narinder is drawn after a panther. But he's a little on the lean side.

In the Lamb's Ascension into full godhood, they would eventually comeup with their own holy-symbol. Naturally,Narinder was amongthe first to receive his own. (It's because of spite)

Wears robes reminiscent to a Catholic cardinal and he wears a priests dalmatic.

Base robes are simple in design, but he wears red to indicate his "close" association with the New God of Death. (a very purposeful decision made by Magda to indicate that he's under her hoof now)

The Lamb's Chosen have varying degrees of red and gold to indicate a sort of hierarchy.

A gold camellia emblem is often worn by higher ranking members of New Haven.

Narinder suspects Magda keeps him close as a councilor and so her other Chosen keep a close eye on him.

Personally I like viewing sparing Narinder as an uneasy alliance - The Lamb, wanting to maintain their grip of power but recognizing the advantage of having the One Who Waits for his wisdom. Despite said wisdom likely being laced in venom and grudges, perhaps it will serve the coming Age of the Lamb.

Leshy, The Chaos Bishop of The Green Crown in Darkwood!

Here’s some Leshy Headcanons!

Before Being Indoctrinated:

🌿 • Leshy is the youngest of the Bishops and so he gets babied and has more freedom on how he acts and portrays himself to his followers and the other bishops

🌿 • He sees mortals as playthings or toys so he plays pranks on them often and doesn’t really care for their personal emotions. Narinder always plays along being a huge prankster as well

🌿 • He definitely has some sort of ADHD. He constantly changes plans or activities on a whim with little to no thought

🌿 • Along with his schedule being unpredictable so is his mood. He can be playful one moment and sadistic the next

🌿 • If his followers think to even cross him he will devour them without a second thought. Even if a follower does nothing wrong and follows his every whim he will sometimes decide to eat them anyway

🌿 • As the Bishop of Darkwood his society is responsible for the steady wood supply throughout The Old Faith

After Being Indoctrinated:

🌿 • He is the most defensive and verbally hostile Bishop in the cult. He hisses out insults any chance he gets. Usually Shamura has to calm him down

🌿 • Leshy is completely blind so his hearing and smell is heightened. He can distinguish individuals on scent alone

🌿 • Because of this he suffers from sensory overload quite often. A method of grounding himself is to gently stroke and sniff the Camelia flower he has hidden

🌿 • Still has the ability to burrow underground. Usually only does it when he is under some sort of stress or extreme emotion

🌿 • Enjoys gardening even if he can’t see. The calm environment with the earthy smells remind him of Darkwood, giving him a sense of comfort

🌿 • Tends to cling onto his siblings for reassurance, usually Heket as she makes him feel safe

🌿 • His diet is now strictly vegan as during his Indoctrination he developed the inability to digest any animal by-product. He still misses eating meat and flesh

🌿 • Leshy surprisingly is 6’1ft tall for being the youngest Bishop. He uses this height to intimidate others simply to prank them and fill his chaotic nature
