Tumblr media
Widok na Kelburn, na horyzoncie Remutakas z Mt. Matthews.
Z Kelburn do Aro Valley szybko w dół, ostry zakręt i znowu wyryp do góry ku Brooklyn.
Tumblr media
Stąd zawracam i zaczynam drogę wzdłuż wybrzeża. Mam przed sobą ponad 40 km zupełnie płaskiej trasy, rarytas w Wellington niebywały.
W pobliżu lotniska akurat płynie do Picton Strait Feronia, prom na którym podróżowaliśmy w Boże Narodzenie.
Tumblr media
Cieśnina Cooka jest wyjątkowo spokojna, trudno uwierzyć. Zimą i wiosną to się nie zdarza.
Tumblr media
Najwięcej czasu spędziłem koło lotniska, a konkretnie południowego końca pasa startowego.
Tumblr media
Uwielbiam zapach kerozyny o poranku. Pachnie nieznanym.
Tumblr media
Kangur mija się z paprocią.
Półwysep Miramar to bajka. Wschodnia strona to wlot Wellington Bay — pełno małych plaż i zatoczek.
Tumblr media Tumblr media

On this weekend exactly one year ago, the BIG NAZO Intergalactic Creature Band was scheduled to perform at the incredible @cubadupa Fest in Wellington, New Zealand. The festival, which was to feature 1,500 acts, was postponed after the Ministry of Health banned all incoming flights and shut down public gatherings. CupaDupa did, however, host over 19 hours of programmed entertainment this year! CubaDupa undeterred
Cubadupa is a carnival-style festival held annually in and around Wellington’s colourful Cuba St. This year it was curtailed, because it wasn’t possible to provide such large crowds with the level of security that was felt to be desirable since the recent outrage in Christchurch.
So they ‘took it inside’, using enclosed or indoor venues for the various events. I thought the parades were simply not supposed to happen, but as I stood waiting for the bus home, this lot spilled out of Te Aro park and engulfed the bus-stop. Then my bus arrived, so I didn’t see what happened next, and I’m not sure whether it was supposed to happen or not.

Dang. The BIG NAZO Intergalactic Creature Band would have been on a 26 hour flight to New Zealand tonight if it hadn't been for COVID-19. The incredible CubaDupa Festival in Wellington, NZ scheduled for March 28 & 29, was postponed after the Ministry of Health banned all incoming flights and shut down public gatherings. It would have been a massive event featuring 1500 performers. These promo images were used in the CubaDupa "Beautiful Interruption" ad campaign.
