The numbers are in.

1.

132,613

is the number of people you helped in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, Karah. 46,403 is the number of people you provided food to. 9,994 is the number of people you brought medical assistance to. Numbers alone don’t tell the full story of each individual helped. But they do give us reason to celebrate the collective impact of our community. Thank you for responding rapidly to this crisis with love in action.

Last week

we shared Saw De Htoo’s story. Now meet some of the hero health workers running these clinics. Earlier this year our team ran refresher trainings for 55 health staff as, well as delivering medicine to the clinics they run. So when more kids like Saw De Htoo are sick, they’ll be ready and waiting to help.

is life in any community. But when we asked this community in conflict-affected Kachin State, Myanmar what their most immediate problem was, access to clean water was absolutely number one. Watch what they did to solve this.

speaks volumes. This is the cumulative number of airstrikes recorded since the Myanmar Military coup in February 2021.

This trajectory is why our work is more important than ever.

Summer

is here (for our northern hemisphere friends) so enjoy this delicious icy Thai treat, Itim Kati, brought to you by The Longest Table.

Ingredients

350ml coconut milk (freshly squeezed if available) 1 teaspoon vanilla ice cream powder 1 tablespoon whipping cream 7 tablespoons sugar Salt Peanuts to garnish

Instructions

Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until homogeneous. Taste to get the desired sweetness. Reduce and add sugar as needed. Pour into container, close lid and put it in the freezer for 4 hours. After freezing, bring it out to blend until smooth. Then put it back in the freezer for another 6 hours.

It’s a phrase you’ve no doubt heard us repeat time and time again. Because it’s completely true. Without your response, there is little we can do. An engine without fuel cannot cannot take you anywhere.

So it brings us so much joy to be able to share with you our 2022 impact report: the tangible hope you have brought into the lives of children and families who’ve found themselves caught in the middle of conflicts that are no fault of their own.

Across 8 countries, through 32 projects, over half a million people were helped. This newsletter is dedicated to you and the mark you’ve left on their world. Because there would be no impact to report if it weren’t for your decision to put love into action.

“I know that the Karen General Education Development program can help me fight for my dream, and since I was selected, I am now more confident that I can achieve my goals.”

In Thailand, Saw Eh Doh Soe received training that allowed him to pass his GED exam and continue his education journey.

“In this hospital, they have good doctors who are specialists in treating burns. The hospital provided me with good treatment until I recovered.”

In Syria, Kareem Ismail Abadi’s burns from a kerosene heater explosion were skillfully treated at the clinic you support in Al-Hol camp.

“When I was young I couldn’t go to school because we are poor. I started to go to school at age 10 when the free school opened.”

In Bangladesh, Zyihadu Isalm is still getting an education despite his family’s financial situation because of the school you’re supporting.

“Thanks to you we have aid, all around Kharkiv we have been trying to look for medicine and food.”

In Ukraine, Svtlana and her husband received food after their apartment had been bombed but there was nowhere else safe to flee to.

"This new section of the school that Partners built helped us a lot, otherwise, we would have had to study in a different school. I thank Partners for building this."

In the Kurdish region of Iraq, kids like Merna who suffered under ISIS occupation no longer have to study in overcrowded classrooms.
