introductory

🍷 one of those dynamics that seem kind of odd, but seeing them together you just know it works. 🩸 very much opposites. kagekao has always been incredibly hyperactive to an obnoxious extent, whereas helen has the exact opposite energy, being very dry. 🍷 the increasing closeness of their relationship was rather subtle. 🩸 it started with kagekao complimenting one of helen's more fucked up works. their interactions grew to include banter, then after a while they notably started spending more and more time alone together. 🍷 some would report that late into the night, you could hear drunken, jovial laughter from the confines of helen’s room. 🩸 the both of them would talk all night over a glass of wine, about everyone and everything 🍷 and with the time they spent together, they found an increasing sense of admiration for each other. 🩸 they believe that one another are the only ones who could truly match each other’s wits. 🍷 kagekao is absolutely FASCINATED by helen’s perception of things. he knows he could never fully understand the way helen works, but he doesn't care. this sense of mystery is part of what drew him in. 🩸 helen on the other hand never thought he'd enjoy kagekao's presence as much as he did. people with (to some) obnoxious personalities like kagekao's normally annoyed him, but there was an air of playful nonchalance that helen greatly enjoyed when it came to the other. a certain edge, a unique cleverness and unpredictability that kept the taller of the two on his toes. 🍷 despite being so different they found that they simply resonate. 🩸 so like, oops! these bitches gay!

confessing??

🍷 kagekao had been nothing but obvious about his feelings for helen, but because helen had never been particularly good at picking up on such things he assumed these displays of affection were purely platonic. 🩸 "I'd marry you given the chance" "well, they do say it's best to have your spouse be your best friend." "no like I'm in love with you" "I love you too, you're my best friend" 🍷 doesn't mean that it doesn't fluster helen, though. 🩸 usually he’ll think about it all night, or while working on a piece. kagekao has also slipped in as a muse of sorts, becoming a frequent source of inspiration. 🍷 helen eventually was the one to confess. 🩸 kagekao had nearly given up at that point and was entering a state of hopelessness over the situation, since helen firstly seemed to respond coldly to kagekao’s feelings, and had been becoming increasingly distant, refusing the demon’s company. as a result, kagekao became convinced that helen was disgusted with his feelings and trying to ghost him. 🍷 so helen abruptly approaching him and saying “I wish to speak to you privately” naturally made kagekao shit himself a little. 🩸 he was surprised to have the other shove a black, leatherback and seemingly custom-painted sketchbook into his hands. 🍷 kagekao was very confused at first, but with helen nodding at him to open it and look inside, he decided to check out what helen wanted him to see so badly. 🩸 helen had been spending so much time by himself because he was spending a lot of time filling it up, making a collection of art about and dedicated to kagekao. black, white and red pen sketches, stuck-on annotations that were carefully written to fully express helen’s feelings for the other, collections of kagekao’s favourite songs, and while helen doesn’t consider himself much of a poet there definitely were a few poems in there too. 🍷 kagekao was kind of stunned. not just by the immense amount of effort put into it but because of the fact that helen felt the same way at all. normally he’s not the type to get extremely emotional, but he was incredibly touched and it was apparent, even through the mask.

love and affection

🩸 kagekao is.. OBNOXIOUSLY physically affectionate with helen. 🍷 since helen usually keeps up a rather cool demeanor he often looks either unphased, or worse, annoyed by all these public displays of affection 🩸 however, he enjoys it a lot. it’s more the fact that helen himself isn’t as easy with being physically affectionate himself. 🍷 helen’s way of expressing his love for kagekao definitely is through gifts, most often handmade. 🩸 they’re basically inseparable and tend to spend every little bit of time they have together. they love talking to each other because they both know the conversation’s always going to be interesting. 🍷 kagekao also often accompanies helen while he works on a project. it’s just one-sided talking but kagekao knows helen’s very concentrated on his work, and still is listening, even if he’s just humming in acknowledgement. 🩸 and helen finds the company to be quite nice. 🍷 all in all both an unlikely yet logical couple

this one’s pretty obvious but when it comes to psychotic tendencies he’s fucking loaded. he’s absolutely fucking insane.

when it comes to you and his possession over you he is extremely aggressive he would torture someone for looking at you funny, let alone if someone hit on you the amount of pain both physically and mentally they would go through is unimaginable.

when it comes to arguing he turns every point you make into you making a big deal out of nothing, or that he had to do whatever heinous thing he did for your safety, or for your relationship, or just because he loves you too much to see you upset. “Come on babe you know I had to kill him if I didn’t he would’ve come between us. We don’t need that kind of strain on us we’ve got our own shit. Come here baby, calm down everything will be okay.”

hesternal - what is their favorite memory?

one of Helen's favourite memories was the time he and his friend Tom hung around in the school buildings during after-school hours, back before things between them went sour. neither of them were supposed to be there this late at night, but Tom had a copy of the keys and they rarely had this kind of opportunity.

Helen was naturally apprehensive, but Tom egged him on and the two of them went anyways. "you should loosen up a little, y'know," was what he said.

they snooped around in places they normally didn't have access to, and would frantically run if they heard the footsteps of the janitor who kept watch over the place at night.

then they'd laugh about it when in the clear, letting the realisation they almost got caught sink in. it was uncharacteristic of someone as well behaved as Helen, and he never thought he'd do something like this. what would his parents think? at that moment it didn't matter. for once he felt like a regular teenager pulling normal teen shenanigans.

Road Trip Headcanons

I'm currently on a road trip so I thought!! Why not!

Jeff

• expect to make a good amount of stops he has a small bladder

• you'll probably have to switch with him every few hours he gets bored on the super straight roads and gets sleepy

• he likes to sing! it's not pretty! but it keeps him occupied!

• also a bit of road rage

• he likes to hold your hand or thigh while driving

• also when he does stop for the bathroom he tends to pick up lots of snacks for the two of you

• he'll get you some of you're favorites

• but it's not like he pays attention to what your favorite snacks are or something...

• when you're driving he'll sleep lots but will try to stay up and make sure you're doing ok on the road

Ben

• will not drive at all

• he can't stand driving and he's too scared he'll get you both in an accident and hurt you

• he's super good company on a road trip though so that sort of makes up for that!

• lots of karaoke together

• puts on Gary Come Home and sings along to it just to make you laugh

• tends to read off random facts and articles hoping to amuse you

• when he's done with that he'll start talking about why he loves you and how glad he is that you'll get some time together
