For the next time your in the mood to do something for councilman Arc, here is a thought.
After Jacques sent out the whatever to say he is contesting the Arc’s claim on the SDC, Willow and all her daughters (Bleiss, Weiss, and Winter) approach Jaune for the sake of teaching him everything he needs to succeed, from the legalities behind the matter to things he could use to personally attack Jacques ego.
(And if you feel like it, it could turn into a massive flirting pile as the girls start getting distracted by being next to Jaune.)
_-------------------
Jaune: Okay, so, you said you had something for me.
Bleiss: my pus-
Willow: *slaps hand over Bleiss' mouth* We have some information that will be most important to your case.
Bleiss: *removes her mother's hand* That, too, I guess.
Weiss: For instance, there are several cases of workplace harassment, which my father overlooked.
Bleiss: the racism, the exploitation, the general assholery...
Willow: Tax fraud.
Jaune: didn't they get whatshisface over in Mistral on that charge?
Willow: Correct.
Jaune: Awesome!

Pilot AU: Intro
Headmistress Glynda Goodwitch sighed as she rubbed the bridge of her nose, causing her glasses to slide upward. The cause of her frustration? The lack of skilled and willing pilots for Beacon's Hunter Response Teams and, to a lesser but still important extent, Beacon's students.
It wasn't as though she didn't understand their reluctance to join. Outside of actual hunters themselves, Huntsman Response Pilots had the highest casualty rates among the working class of Vale with one out of five dying within a year of active duty.
When one takes the working conditions on top of that, it becomes obvious why the Council has to rotate their own pilots from the Vale Defense Forces to cover the shortage.
This year's applicants to their Air Core, the lowest on record, she thought bitterly, was especially a problem.
There were only eleven of them, ranging in ages from seventeen to twenty eight. And each one had something that made the Beacon Air Core their second and or only choice.
Two of them were dropouts of the VDF, Four were parolees out on a work program, three were aged out orphans with nowhere else to go and no other prospects and one was a Councilman's son who got caught in bed with four Faunas hookers. But the last one...
The last one was especially irksome. He had actually applied for Beacon proper and had survived initiation until she got curious about his lack of skill and double checked his files and found it to be fraudulent.
When she and Ozpin had confronted him about it when he had climbed back up the cliff, the young man had gone pale and attempted to explain his reasons. She had none of it, but Headmaster Ozpin, in his infinite wisdom, offered him a choice. Transfer to the Beacon Air Core, or return home.
The boy barely old enough to be considered an adult instantly chose to transfer to become a pilot and she knew from the look in his eye that he had no idea what he had just signed up for.
She hoped Ozpin had seen anything in him otherwise poor Jaune Arc would probably die within the first year, and she would have to deal with the aftermath, like usual.
The only bright side is that he was an odd man out due to him not actually accomplishing the initiation. In all honesty, had she just left it alone and not been set on following the letter of the law, Jaune would be on his way back home or doing something other than being her responsibility.
But, Glynda thought, this is the way of Beacon. Come Monday when training starts it'll just be another one of her many chores. And who knows. Maybe he'll be different than the rest of the idealistic fools she's surrounded by.

Tenders Defend!
A continuation of Aravas-Writing’s Councilman Arc Au: https://aravas-writing.tumblr.com
“Isn’t that councilman Jaune?”
“Totally! But what’s with the chicken on his head?”
People were starring at him as Jaune looked above to see his security resting on his head. If it wasn’t for Omelette for saving Vales Financial situations, he wouldn’t have hire Tenders, but here he is with the best security in Vale. Seriously what’s the worst thing that can happen with-
“Jaune Arc I presume?”
He turned around to see a man in a dark jacket
“Mr.Schnee sends his regards.” He pulls out a gun as some of the people surrounding the area scream, but Tenders jumps off Jaune heads and attacks the man with the gun by repeating hitting him in the eye, only to stop for a second
“BAWK!!” The chicken screamed as seconds later, more chickens arrive to assist Tender by beating down the assassin
Jaune starred at the group of chicken in confusion
‘I don’t even know what’s normal anymore.’ He thought to himself as he knows this would be the top story for tomorrows news.

tragic backstory (tm) au) jaune and neo go to a fancy ball, weiss is bullied by her friends into following jaune in and seeing what he's up to, she's utterly shocked to see jaune's ... smooth? the man plays the game with the best of them, when she confronts him about the shift in his demeaner all the boy does is look at her and say
" diplomacy is the velvet glove that covers the iron fist of power"
meanwhile jaune's having way too much fun quoting movie lines at rich people as a distraction. they must not get out much because so far no one's recognized any of them, hell even weiss didn't notice... where did neo get to? (she's robbing the place blind)
Stiffer Than A Girder
Jaune never felt so out of place in his life. Well, except for maybe when he first showed up to Beacon with no skill whatsoever, but this was a different kind of alienation. He was in a hostile environment, laced with landmines and other traps that could end him when triggered, and predators just as capable, and more eager, to do so. Jaune Arc was at a fancy dinner ball with the Council of Vale.
He didn't understand what insanity gripped his Headmaster to think that sending him as a Beacon student representative. Thankfully, he was permitted a plus one, and though they had only known each other for less than a week, Jaune was confident he made the right choice choosing Mint. His friends weren't happy he chose "a complete stranger", but they were understanding. Besides, it's not like he'd know anyone here.
Weiss: Hello, Arc.
Jaune: (Thinking) Ah, dammit. (Speaking) Weiss! What a surprise!
Weiss: Because you thought you could escape rejecting me, the Weiss Schnee, for someone you only met three days ago?
Jaune: I... don't have an answer for that.
Weiss: Good, then you can shut up and listen. You came here, acting as the Beacon student representative, and you don't know the first thing about formal etiquette, do you?
Jaune: I'm wearing a tie!
Weiss: Who tied it?
Jaune: ...Mint.
Weiss: (Tugs the tie) And it's a clip-on. If you're going into any battleground, you must be armed with the weapons that best serve you.
Jaune: But this isn't a battleground.
Weiss: Of course not. It's a warzone. Do you have any dancing skill at all?
Jaune: I mean, Ren is teaching me.
Weiss: Do you know the difference between silverware?
Jaune: Yeah; forks, knives, spoons, and sporks!
Weiss: ...If this was the jungle, a monkey would have killed you by now.
Jaune: That's harsh. How did you get in, anyways?
Weiss: My entire family is here. It's one of the few times we all gather without hosting a ball. You, on the other hand, must do more than just stand around and pretend to know the difference between a cravat and caviar.
Jaune: ...
Weiss: You do know what those are, correct?
Jaune: ...Do I need to?
Weiss: (Sigh) Fine, I suppose someone must teach you proper ballroom etiquette. I doubt your friend knows anything about the high, aristocratic lifestyle.
Jaune: ...Hey, where is Mint?
Ozpin: Are you enjoying the festivities, madam?
Councilwoman: Oh, of course, but I believe I may have misplaced my timepiece. If you happen upon it, would you kindly return it?
Ozpin: Of course, madam. Enjoy your evening. (She walks away) That's the third person tonight. Excuse me!
Neo: !
Ozpin: Yes, you! A word, please? (Mint steps closer) I understand the youth of today are quite bold, but I must ask you maintain vigilance, dear. I believe a thief is loose. Do be careful.
Neo: (Nods)
Ozpin: And inform Mr. Arc of the same, please. (Walks away) Hm, I believe I must have misplaced my money clip.
Neo: (Walks away, Pulls money from money clip)
Weiss: First lesson, Arc; know your enemy.
Jaune: And who is my enemy?
Weiss: Everyone except you. Trust no one.
Jaune: What about you?
Weiss: What about me?
Jaune: Can I trust you?
Weiss: For now.
Jaune: Huh?
Weiss: Just listen to me very carefully, and do as I do. Here comes someone now.
Councilman: Ah, Ms. Schnee! A delight to see you once again! Tell me, how has the air of Beacon treated you?
Weiss: Oh, splendidly! The air in Atlas can be so cold.
Councilman: Of course. Vale is much further from the ice of Solitas.
Weiss: That is true, that is true.
Councilman: And who might this be?
Weiss: Councilman, allow me to introduce you to Jaune Arc, a fellow student of Beacon. Jaune, this is Councilman-
Councilman: Ah, so you are the famous Jaune Arc! Or perhaps I should say infamous in my case. (Laughs haughtily)
Weiss: (Laughs haughtily)
Jaune: (Weakly chuckles)
Councilman: Come, come, you simply must meet with our benefactor for the evening!
Jaune: Uh, okay, if I must.
Weiss: (Whispers) You do.
Ironwood: So, this is the famous Jaune Arc?
Winter: Indeed, sir.
Ironwood: Were you able to pull up any information on him?
Winter: Unfortunately, no, sir. When I asked for his files, the Headmaster replied, and I quote, "lent them to another student."
Ironwood: Another one of Oz's jokes. But if the rumors are true, he could be a valuable ally.
Winter: Or a formidable enemy.
Ironwood: Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
Glynda: Doesn't come to what, James?
Ironwood: Ah, good evening, Glynda. How are you?
Glynda: I'm well, thank you. (Glares) Winter.
Winter: (Glares) Glynda.
Ironwood: ...I'll be discussing affairs with the Vacuan representatives over there for the moment. (Hurries away)
Winter: Still shipping trash, Glyn?
Glynda: I don't know. Do you still have garbage taste?
Jacques: Ah, so you're the famous Jaune Arc?
Jaune: O-Or infamous? (Chuckles)
Jacques: Oh, come now, I'm certain the rumors aren't true in the slightest.
Jaune: Rumors?
Jacques: Allow me to introduce myself. I am Jacques Schnee of the Schnee Dust Company. This is my wife, Willow, and our son, Whitely.
Willow: (Half-lidded) Good evening.
Whitely: Greetings, Mr. Arc.
Jacques: I see you have already met my daughter, Weiss.
Jaune: Yes, sir, and she is quite lovely.
Jacques: Lovely enough for marriage?
Weiss: Father!
Jaune: M-Marriage?!
Jacques: I joke, I joke! After all, this is a ball, is it not?
Jaune: Er, yeah, I guess it is.
Jacques: And if Weiss is of no interest to you, there is always Winter, who is...
Glynda: (Growling) IronQrow is the ultimate ship, and I will die on this hill.
Winter: (Snarling) Then perish under the banner of IronPin, you cow.
Jacques: ...around here somewhere.
Jaune: I'll be honest, I'm a little nervous about marriage, sir. My last one didn't end so well.
Jacques: Ah, a shame. I suppose you could always settle for the bachelor life. There are times when I wish for it myself.
Willow: All you need to do is ask, dear.
Jacques: Again, I joke! There's no ill will here, is there?
Jaune: Well, not here, no, but somewhere out there, I'm sure.
Jacques: Oh, anything come to mind?
Jaune: Well, there's the Grimm.
Jacques: And the White Fang, obviously.
Jaune: Well, I don't know about that, sir.
Jacques: Oh? Don't tell me you sympathize with those terrorists.
Jaune: Well, not all of them are terrorists. If I remember from my class right, the White Fang were peaceful protesters at first, and something pushed them to violence. Maybe even someone.
Jacques: Oh? Are you suggesting we sympathize with these murderers and thieves?
Jaune: Well, not with them, but definitely the ones boycotting dust until labor conditions improve and the peaceful protesters calling for equal treatment.
Jacques: If they wish to freeze in the cold than pay a small fee for fire dust, then I say we leave them to their ignorance! After all, as a Huntsman-in-training, you understand the importance of using Dust.
Jaune: I don't use Dust.
Jacques: Excuse me?
Jaune: I don't use dust. I use a sword and shield. I never could understand all the hubbub about Dust. Mom used a wood-burning stove, and we used the ashes around the house.
Jacques: Yours is certainly... a unique case, but I digress. Back to the other matter, these... individuals protesting are asking for the impossible.
Jaune: Well, we have a saying back home; "For evil to win, The good must stop doing." It's only impossible, sir, if you let it be impossible. I know all too well how easy it is to give up, but some things are worth fighting for.
Weiss: Uh, Jaune?
Jacques: I... see. And what of the terrorists? Surely you don't condone their methods of pillaging dust shipments to hinder my company?
Jaune: I don't agree with it, but look at the results, sir. Until a few years ago, I never heard of the White Fang. Only thing I knew about were bandits, and I thought they were the worst. At least the White Fang are fighting for a good cause, granted, not in the best way.
Jacques: (Red in the face) "Good cause-?" Do you hear yourself? My company suffers from their actions, not the other way around! I'm the victim here!
Jaune: (Looks around) I don't see any Faunus councilmembers or diplomats at this private event. Only staff members, and I'll bet they're struggling to make ends meet. They're probably better people, too.
Jacques: (Struggling to form words)
Jaune: Enjoy your evening, sirs. Madam. We're done here. (Turns to walk away)
Jacques: (Grabs Jaune's sleeve, Growls) How dare you! You listen to me; I am Jacques Schnee, head of the Schnee Dust Company!
Jaune: (Tugs his sleeve away, Straightens himself) And like my great-great-grandpa Arc told Zakeriah Schnee, (Prods Jacque's chest) I! Don't! Care!
Jacques: You would compare me to that traitor who sacrificed his own countrymen to save one man?
Jaune: You're right. After all, (Turns away) you're not even half the man Zakeriah Schnee was. (Leaves)
Whitely: (Whispering) Incredible... He tricked father into making a fool of himself, in front of everyone!
Weiss: (Whispering) Of course. After all, Arc was a champion of Ansel pit fighting not only for his strength, but his cunning. (Speaking) I must be going. Good night, father, mother, Whitely. (Walks away)
Weiss: (Scroll buzzes) Excuse me. (Answers) Hello?
Yang: 'Sup, Weissy? I heard you guys are having fun.
Weiss: How did you hear about it?
Yang: Jaune's friend sent us a video of it. Apparently, he's getting a lot of buzz from everywhere.
Blake: Including the White Fang.
Weiss: Will that be a problem?
Blake: It's difficult to say. The things he was saying were very telling about his childhood around Faunus, or lack thereof. It would make sense for him to sympathize with a group treated like slaves, even if he only just heard about them.
Weiss: Just another Arc thing, huh?
Ruby: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Weiss: I... I didn't say anything.
Yang: Oh, she and Nora are laughing at Professor Ozpin's livestream of the event. Specifically, the cat fight.
Weiss: What catfight?
Winter: (Holding Glynda by her hair) Say it! Say Jaune Arc needs a strong woman as his queen, and I'll let go!
Glynda: (Holding Winter by her hair) Never! Say Jaune Arc needs a caring woman as his guide, and I'll let go!
Ironwood: Ladies, please, control yourselves! Oz, will you stop recording and help me?!
Jaune: Ah, the breeze feels so nice out here. (Tapped on the shoulder) Huh? Oh, there you are, Mint!

АД. НЕБЕСА. - a game by Solmare Lodge (a Pathologic / Obey Me! AU)
Have you ever considered angels, my friend? An angel is a nightmare. Their purpose is to instill primal, oppressive horror. I think if angels existed, they’d resemble a divine pillar of light — from the heavens to the earth. Devoid of anything remotely human.
Get a hold of yourself, Solomon. Inquisitors are people.
The town on the Devildom river, nestled inside the eastern Steppe is quiet place in the middle of nowhere. You are an academic from the Capital, invited to the town by a man you have never met, and you seek to discover what makes you so important. Shortly after your arrival, a deadly epidemic breaks loose in the town, and you are one of the few tasked with investigating the new plague. However, there is more to the Town-On-Devildom than meets the eye, and tangled web of intrigue and political deceit and impossibilities lies between you and the cure.
(backgrounds by Ice Pick Lodge, art/edits by me! zoom in on the dialogue scenes to read!)
More AU info under the cut
The Outsiders - the counterparts to Patho’s healers, all people called to the Town at the same time who work to cure the plague in their own ways.
MC, The Oblation - A blend of both the Haruspex and the Bachelor, they have both Artemy’s character arc and ideals (love, hope, grappling with the past vs the future) and Daniil’s newcomer status and resistance to the arcane. They receive a letter that claims to be from the Mayor of the Town-on-Devildom that begs for them to come. However, they find that the Mayor has been missing for some time, and that his son, Diavolo, is in charge of the town’s council. A councilman named Lucifer asks for their help in some matters with his younger brother, but they quickly come to to find the beginnings of a plague outbreak. Despite MC’s best efforts, it just seems like the Town-On-Devildom has sunk its fangs into them and refuses to let them go. In order to cure the plague, MC needs to find a way to make all seven brothers cooperate again while dodging the justice of the Capital’s inquisitor.
Solomon, The Theurgist - A blend of both the Bachelor and the Haruspex, he has Daniil’s composure, aloofness, and lofty ideals and Artemy’s status as someone familiar with the townsfolk and knowledge of things beyond the realm of science. Solomon is MC’s closest ally in solving the plague, although he tends to speak in riddles.
Simeon, The Eidolon - A mysterious man who appears with his young ward, Simeon is the closest counterpart to the Changeling. Simeon posesses a strange miraculous holy magic unheard of in the Town-On-Devildom, but this makes him all the more distrusted by the townsfolk. Never lies, but never speaks the whole truth. He and his ward are from a place both outside of and within the Town called the Celestium.
The Bound - MC’s bound, the seven brothers.
Lucifer - Councilman Lucifer is one of the three town leaders. He owns a house in town, his family home, but rarely stays there. He helps MC when possible, but his work during the epidemic to keep the town in check (and failing) leaves him unable to do much, and his loyalty to Diavolo comes above all else.
Mammon - A local conman who has run out of cons, Mammon is disliked in the town. Always penniless (though who knows what he spends it on), Mammon is in some debt at the start of the game with some of the local women, and MC is asked by Lucifer to make sure he hasn’t gotten himself killed. Luckily for him and unfortunately for the town, his debtors are some of the first plague victims MC finds. Likes to help MC, but not the most reliable.
Leviathan - Levi is the only one who can be found in the brothers’ family home, holed up in his room. He spends his days alone, disliking and fearing the company of others. Possesses particular insights into the town if you can convince him to tell you much.
Satan - Satan wants little to do with his councilman brother and was the first to move out, having a small home on the opposite side of town filled with his beloved books. Eager to help MC, but his bitter family ties hold him back.
Asmodeus - Another brother who moved out, Asmodeus considers himself a big fish in a tiny pond. It’s his home in which Solomon stays, and he extends to offer to MC, but is more concerned with protecting himself than aiding the two with the cure.
Beelzebub - Beel works as a local laborer, if only to have more money for food to sate his endless appetite. When the plague hits and food begins to be rationed, he is one of the best sources of trade as he’s desperate for any kind of nuts or beans MC can find, and will happy trade them any manner of drugs and ammo.
Belphegor - A key to solving the mystery of the plague, Belphegor was imprisoned days before the start by the council for objecting to their plans: release the plague that was sealed to bring the crisis with the Celestium to a head and force some kind of reckoning. Belphegor hates and mistrusts MC, believing them to be an agent oh the council. He will lie to and manipulate MC, and MC needs to find a way to get him to tell them what he knows.
OTHERS
Diavolo - The Mayor’s son, Diavolo is a kind and gregarious man who cares greatly for the townsfolk. He is the head of the council which formed in his father’s absence to govern the town. He offers advice to MC, but in truth he is responsible for the crisis as he saw releasing the plague from the earth as the only way to bring peace to the Town and the Celestium, provided either of them survive.
Barbatos - The third member of the council, Barbatos is a polite man who speaks in vague riddles. One never knows if he is helping or leading you astray. Does much of Diavolo’s hands-on work.
Luke - Simeon’s ward, a young boy who fulfills Clara’s role of standing around places and giving vague and often harsh advice to MC. Is trying his best to help but his manners need some work.
Michael - The inquisitor, sent from the “Capital” to oversee the Town’s fate. All chafe under his watchful eye. In truth, he is from the Celestium, and moreover he is one of the only ones aware that the world they live in is a simulacrum, a game. He’s basically just Aglaya.
The Icon and the Operator - The AU’s answer to the Executor and the Tragedian, and Karasu and the Little D’s, respectively. The Icons appear as figures in black tagged cloaks and beaked masks, safety gear from the towns factory as they become orderlies for the sick. Three bundles of herbs arranged to look like crow feet hand from each neck. The Operators are strange tall black-clad figures in hats, shrouded in miasma, representing a pawn in the games script and stand-ins for the characters. These figures exist outside of the world of the Town-On-Devildom and within the world of the game, often speaking past MC to the player.

Young Leaders AU
The young leaders au follows team STRQ along with Oz’s inner circle’s youth as they attend Beacon and make their way through each of the 4 years and after graduation.
This au fills in a lot of gaps of what STRQ’s relationship with each other was like, what the past lives of them were, what Glynda, ironwood, and Oz were all like as kids, and generally what happened for everything to fall apart so fast.
At the start of the AU, all the characters are 17 and fresh into Beacon, by the “end” they’re in their early adulthood.
I say “end” because there’s a possibility that the ending arc isn’t the end per say, more just the end of the major arcs.
So let’s get the descriptions of the characters:
Young (Eira) Ozpin: a short, lanky, and scrawny kid with greying hair, Eira Ozpin is the son of two of the most powerful aristocrats in Vale. An academic genius but anxious, Eira finds it difficult to make friends. Moreover, he is now the next in line in Ozma’s reincarnations, communicating with the former King of Vale. He attends beacon to get away from his family while looking to uncover mysteries surrounding the reincarnation cycle.
Young Glynda: a strict young woman, Glynda grew up in and loathing Vale’s high society. She begins attending beacon as to remove herself from her family and hopefully make her own name. She can come off as a bit rude but she most times only has the best of intentions.
Young James: The son of a councilman and a soldier, James grows up in a very militaristic household. He holds his feelings close to his chest and out of sight and finds it hard to relate with those around him. He attends Beacon instead of Atlas academy hoping to learn more than Atlas Academy can offer.
Young Summer: A bright and bubbly young girl, Summer is the daughter of the revered Alloy Rose and the charming Valentina Rose. Her life has been surrounded by nothing but danger because of her identity as her parents daughter and her identity as a SEW. She attends beacon in hopes of being able to defend herself in the future.
Young Taiyang: Headstrong and charming, Taiyang comes from the deserts of Vacuo, moving to Vale after his town is attacked. Trained by his mother, he attends beacon in order to protect the people he has made friends with and cares about in Vale to prevent any more attacks from happening again.
Young Raven: the golden child of her tribe, this stubborn and rude girl was taken from her parents at 10 years old and trained to kill. Raven holds much resentment towards the tribe that trained her but also respects them for doing so. She is attending beacon to learn to kill hunters
Young Qrow: the runt and outcast of his tribe, Qrow has constantly grown up looking over his shoulder and smooth talking his way out of trouble. He holds much resentment towards not only his tribe but his sister and parents, mistakingly thinking he was abandoned due to poor memory of his kidnapping. He thinks he is attending beacon to kill hunters. He is truly attending beacon to try and find a new life.

Volume 8, Chapter 1: Divide thoughts
I don’t think it’s gonna be easy for me to figure out how I feel about the premiere until Volume 8 wraps as this is very much a setup episode to conclude some threads from Volume 7 and setup the season’s main plots- Cinder wants Penny, Salem wants Oscar, Ruby wants the tower, Ironwood wants Penny, Yang wants to join Robyn’s Home Owners Association. It’s very Volume 5 esque. Right down to not having a fight scene, which is probably gonna hurt my feelings on this in retrospect.
I’m surprised how much I liked Cinder’s content. I feel the flash’s a bit on the nose- DO YOU GET IT SHE’S SCRUBBING THE FLOOR SHE’S CINDEREALLA DO YOU GET IT  YET- but she was... not terrible in this episode? She’s actually got character, and nuance, y’know, things she didn’t have the last few years. I thought there’d be more of a gap between Salem arriving and Cinder going to meet her, but nah they get that out of the way. I do hope that since they’re literally opening on Cinder having a flashback, this sticks out and we finally get Cinder some fleshing out that she’s been well overdue for.
Most of the villain stuff in general is really cool, albeit I called most of this- Cinder gives Salem the Relic, pins the victory on herself, Neo looks pissed, Salem is vague and speaks in general terms about her plan and gives the kidnap order on Oscar. Tyrian’s already here, so I’m already happy, and I adore how Cinder’s back for all of six minutes before Tyrian’s roasting her. "So devoted to someone so incompetent" like.. Jesus Tyrian she hasn’t even taken her shoes off yet.
I’m very happy, if apprehensive, to see Emerald and Mercury again. Like, y’know, favorite characters in all, I’m obviously eager to see their arcs continue, but given how I just criticised RWBY like two weeks ago for having massive character bloat problems in Volume 7, adding Team MEH to the pre-existing roster is... a judgement call that we’re sure going to see the results of before the season’s out. I want to be hopeful, but in general I’m starting to have the same apprehension I had when Volume 5 started. We’ll have to wait and see.
I do really like their outfits though! At least right now I do. I do have to wonder where they got them but I’ll take them finally getting new gear after seven years. Hazel’s though...
Tumblr media
Oh man what happened to you Hazel. I’m gonna steal someone else’s joke and say this is what a Magic Mike AU Hazel would dress like.
As for the Team RWBY stuff it’s more of “setup for the season at large.” Oscar gets reunited, the party’s been split, Yang and Ruby are having issues... it’s hard to talk about because it’s basically a lot of exposition about what the plan is for the season, and as such this, again, lives or dies on where Volume 8 takes it. If good, it’s good setup, if bad, it’s not great. I’d like to see Ruby and Yang have a wedge driven between them but we’ll have to wait and see on that front. I will say I’m moderately interested in Oscar keeping Ozpin’s return a secret, though again, we’ll have to see where the plot’s going with that.
That being said, Yang can go shut up. The gall of her to say Ruby’s been making bad calls since Mistral when she went behind Ruby’s back to tell Robyn about the Amity Tower, which played a huge role in RWBY and Ironwood splitting ways? Fuck you.
Ironwood’s scene though? Ehhhhhhh I’m getting bad vibes. I do not like him shooting the Councilman, it feels like way too far a step for him to take coming off of Volume 7, especially with the whole “protecting Atlas and its people is James’s entire reason for his descent and now he’s shooting what’s likely a friend of his in cold blood.” It was one thing to shoot Oscar as that can be read as James shooting Ozpin and not seeing Oscar like... you know, the rest of the cast in all honesty... but shooting Slate? Kinda just feels like shock value. After how good James’ arc in Volume 7 was and showing his gradual descent, him gunning a civilian down is... disconcerting. It feels too far a step for him to take this early in the season. Down the line, this could make sense, but as is, not a great showing for James in the premiere.
The opening’s OK, I think the music has a bit of a halt in the chorus I don’t like, most of the OP stuff is cool, other people can say it better than me.
Again, I don’t really know how to feel about this episode right now besides the immediate hype of Emerald and Mercury’s return. A lot of this episode’s individual quality will lie on how the rest of the season uses this as foundations. Which makes it annoying to talk about. I don’t think it’s bad? But I think in a few years, if the season doesn’t deliver on executing these ideas, it’ll be seen as one of the weaker premieres of the series with how some of the talking scenes can drag. It’s hard to call now, but really barring my immediate revulsion at Ironwood’s scene and the excitement of seeing Em and Merc? I’m kinda forgetting a lot of this premiere already. And it only came out four hours ago at time of writing.

Councilman Arc Au: Jaune has to go to the Schnee Manor again, Pyrrha and Eve in yow as guards. One: to give Jacques a peice of his mind. Two: see his "son" Whitley, who is fanboying over Pyrrha.
This was a statement and a half, coming to Schnee Manor with two bodyguards in tow. Though not just any old guards: Pyrrha Nikos, the Invincible Girl, and Eve Taurus of the White Fang had come with him on this journey. Despite being on a watchlist, there was no warrant out for Eve's arrest, so she could come and go as she pleased.
She didn't please often when it came to Atlas, however. It was simply too cold for her tastes.
Jaune, meanwhile, had a rather odd goal. For one, he wanted to try settling out of court with Jacques. To Jaune, the whole thing was a waste of time and money, while Jacques wanted nothing more than a full monopoly on everything Dust.
Naturally, that couldn't fly, but it was worth a shot to see if the jackass was open to... mostly realising just how bad his own position was.
The catch? The man wasn't there. Klein couldn't find him, but invited the visitors anyway for tea and pastries.
Suited Jaune just fine. Due to his liaison with Willow, he considered Whitley to be just about one step below actual stepson. Meaning: he felt like the kid needed a dad, not a father, but also didn't feel close enough.
It came to just about everyone's surprise that the little guy was a big fan of Pyrrha.
"I am not one to brag, but I happened to witness your prowess on several occasions. Say, is what the TV series says about you true?"
Now if only he wasn't being so Jacques about it

Councilman AU: since Jaune is currently with Summer and Tai dealing with the situation in Mistral along with Raven, i was thinking we could see them finally facing Raven and the Branwen Tribe, with the former team members having an intense and dramatic standoff while Councilman Arc...is currently dealing with a flirty Vernal who is excited to have cross paths again.
The air was heavy with a confrontation long in the making. Clouds hung above, thick with impending lightning as a storm was brewing on the ground as well.
"Summer..." Raven gaped. She could not pretend to not care, not when the leader she thought dead was still alive and staring daggers at her.
"Hey, Raven. Guess you never changed, did you?"
Taiyang stayed silent. Part of him was too angry to say anything, part of him knew that Summer had just about as much to say to Raven as he did.
She, Raven, bristled. "You knew of my circumstances and you knew damn well that-"
Taiyang had enough. "Circumstances?" His voice was cold enough to make both women flinch. Neither of them had ever heard this tone out of his mouth. "Like having a child and husband? A baby at home, waiting for her mother to come back to her? Summer had a reason: she actively couldn't. So, what's yours?" He stepped forward, clenching his fists.
"I'm all ears."
------------------
"Hey, cutie, ever shacked up with a wild girl?"
"Can you stop flirting with me while trying to kill me??"
"Where's the fun in that?"

(Councilman Arc AU): Jaune has the brilliant idea of opening up elections for public representatives in the Legislature in an attempt help alleviate his workload and to give back political power to the people as him wielding that much power honestly scares him. Hope this idea pans out. Huh. Why do many of the candidates running for office are women who are attractive supermodels or very fit Huntsmen?
"what the fuck...?!"
Rare was the occasion on which Jaune swore, but it was always warranted. Such as now, while he was looking through a large variety of applications.
He had found to be woefully understaffed, how exactly he had managed so far was a mystery to all, especially him.
Greta merely laughed. "Ah, this takes me back. Last time I saw this many hotties run after just one guy, I was in the middle of the stampede. Met one of my exes that way, poor sod was a mail carrier caught in the mass."
That made Jaune curious, as he looked over to his secretary aiding him. "Really? Why did it end?"
Greta laughed. "He stumbled off the pier and drowned. Both of us were fucked on a new drug back then, so i swore off the hard stuff when i found out."
"...you smoke weed."
"your point?" The elderly woman grinned at him as she sorted a few out, ready to mass produce letters of rejection. There were blatant attempts to get close to her boss and then there were those....

Counielman Arc Au: Does Kali and Ghira take their daughters Nora and Blake out for bonding experiences? Blake tries to cope out but is made to go anyway by Nora and Kali.
Blake looked much like a cat one had just given a bath as she stopped along with her sister.
Yeah, sure, it was new that she had a sister, and she didn't exactly mind that it was Nora...
"Ooh, ooh, can we go there next?! Hey, can we have pancakes after this? Oh, but what about-"
But did she have to be louder than usual?

Councilman Arc AU) Just curious how weiss and winter will react upon discovering that jaune legally owns significant part of SDC.
Incredulity would be the word of choice here. Weiss would have a damn near breakdown while Winter, after being gobsmacked for a while, simply smiles and shakes her head.
Jaune is cursed with crazy

Counielman Arc Au: Has Jaune called back home yet because a lot of people are probably missing him and Sienna stopped one person but others might try to grab power too. Even deep in Bandit territory Jaune gonna worry about Deery and the Baby.
He's a little busy at the moment.
"Come on, I can show you some moves your girl wouldn't dare~"
"my girl is pregnant! Leave me alone!"
"Since when is that an obstacle?"
"For someone actively trying to kill me, you sure are thirsty, aren't you?!"

For the Councielmen Arc Au. How did the other Girls react to Deery being pregnant? Does make any of the girls want to jump Jaune for their own babies? Did Salem and Mama Arc freak out and drown Deery in advice? Did they start the wedding plan yet? Jaune probably felt the storm of chaos all the way in minstrel.
"Why do I hear muffled boss music?"
For a brief moment of respite, Jayne looked towards the distant horizon, in the direction of Vale. A mighty squeal was what he could hear, and it sounded oh so suspiciously like his mother, just like when she found out Terra was pregnant.
"it's probably nothing."

Councilmen Arc Au: Do you think anyone would be stupid enough to make a power play to get a potical seat or get Jaune fired since he hasn't been in Vale for a while. Of course that would backfire badly. But it might be funny to see what happens. Which Girlfriend or Suitor would scare them.
"I...suppose we can talk about this?"
One very nervous person stared the very literal tiger in the face. Clearly Sienna Khan had a vested interest in the newer politics of Vale, something that had been accounted for.
"The only thing we have to talk about is when you are leaving."
Her immediate reaction towards an attempt for city district manager, a very advantageous political position, was not planned.
How could they have known that it was already sold to a pro-faunus advocacy group with plans towards development?
Oh, right, that was the whole reason for the power grab

Councilmen Arc Au: Any improvements with Adam's condition? Has Blake tried to help? What was Sienna's reaction? It might interesting if she feels like she might of help drive him into this.
In order:
The Albains made it worse, so now he's running around with s bomb
Blake can't, on account of not being near there iirc
Sienna is just exasperated between his shit, the war, a random sex cult and a shortage of food for the local Fang cell
