Well, it's been a hell of a couple of weeks, and one of many things that happened is that I ended up coming home from Urgent Care looking rather like fruit being packed up for long distance shipping.
I got pretty scraped up when I fell while hiking nearly a month ago. Then I got significantly better... and then I got a whole lot worse.
If you would like to avoid some truly disgusting and painful wounds, you should know that you are likely to develop an allergy to Neosporin if you use it for multiple weeks (and probably the same goes for other brands of over-the-counter antibiotic ointments, I'm guessing).

~ ✨🧚🏾‍♂️ Skin Positivity: 🧚🏾‍♀️✨~
As a person with acne, eczema, psoriasis, and thick calluses on my feet, and who is pretty much allergic to everything, excluding shea butter, cocoa butter, and only one brand of makeup, I would like to take the time to say that people with skin conditions are beautiful.
People do not have to have smooth, clear, “flawless” skin. I certainly don’t. And the older that I get, the more my eczema spreads, which will only stop once it’s all over my body. My skin is always very dry and very fragile even when I put on lotions and creams and whatnot.
And as for acne, I have that all over my upper body. My face, my head, my neck, my chest, my belly, my back, and my upper arms.
And no, I’m not ashamed of any of this, nor should I be made to feel that way. I am not this untouchable, disgusting thing that should be hidden from the world. I am a human being with my own life, and my own beauty, and I deserve to be respected and treated as such.
And NOT despite my skin conditions, but WITH them. Because people like me exist, and we deserve to be seen and represented.
The nature of one’s skin should not ever determine whether they are beautiful, or worthy of love and respect.
I already am. Because I exist.
My skin is beautiful in all of its little dry scales, flakes, bumps, calluses, acne, and dark spots. And I refuse to let some ignorant people tell me that I should feel ashamed of my own skin because it’s not like everyone else’s. This is MY skin, and I decide how I feel about it. And I love it. I refuse to let anyone make me feel bad for how I was born, and for how my skin turns out. I am not a mistake to be fixed. I am worthy, regardless of what anyone says.
I am beautiful. I am worthy of love and respect. I am.

The Situation: I've managed to either subluxate or dislocate my wrist, and all three wrist braces on premises contain polyester, which I am allergic to. Accessing treatment is taking more time than it should and I really ought to be wearing a brace in the mean time. I could purchase one, except....
The Complication: Neither duck duck go nor google are being super helpful! I have tried a variety of searches and operators but my screen spoons are small and typing one handed is exhausting. So I'm turning to the Great Crowdsourcing for aid!
The Quest: Find a wrist brace that does NOT contain polyester.
Maybe you already know where to find this thing, which would be awesome. Maybe you know other people who deal with similar issues who could point me in the right direction. Maybe you don't but are willing to boost this in hopes of finding someone who does! Any help is welcome, here, I have faith that by our powers combined we are in fact better at this than Google.
Thanks, and good questing!

This is a Ms Meyer's Personal Vendetta PSA
Because Ms Meyer's is """Natural""" and Proprietary™ they can use chemicals that are actually harsh, abrasive, and BAD FOR YOU
AND because it's PROPRIETARY (aka special secret so no one can copy) THEY DON'T HAVE TO LIST IT
Natural doesn't mean safe, they are not organic, they have scents and preservatives that are in the non ""natural"" products. Many of those compounds can cause allergic skin reactions.
So if you're like me, and have eczema and get contact dermatitis EASILY it can and or WILL SET YOU OFF and fuck up ur skin
Anyway, fuck """natural""" soaps that are worse and allergen laden. They've always given me headaches smell wise and when I had to use it for a few weeks while dog sitting it flared up my hand eczema.
Trust ur body, if you're having reactions it's for a reason
And don't buy Ms Meyers

Y'know #skinneutrality and all that but some days I just really wish my skin didn't hurt, itch, or make others think I don't wash

So I have extremely allergic/reactive skin. I had one summer with a reaction to a “natural” toner so bad I could barely see and had to go on steroids for the swelling.
I bought one of those Evian face mists at Marshalls tonight. They’re cheaper there and it’s sometimes the only thing that can cool my face down.
The guy at checkout looks at the product and starts making fun of it because “isn’t this just water” and I awkwardly say something like “I know it looks silly, but it’s good for cooling down in the summer!”
“This can’t the same thing as the water brand…” I nod slowly, embarrassed, but still getting my item.
You may not always understand why someone is getting a product, but I promise there’s probably a reason.
Even if it’s “I think it looks cool and I wanted to splurge at the discount store” I think that’s valid.
But like. Sometimes it’s that you have reactive skin and literally only water won’t set it off. So—
Remember to be kind 💓

To whoever chose the new hand soap we have, I hate you. So, so much. Yes, it smells great. But I have a problem with it. It has lemon in it!
It is clearly marked in my file that I can not use lemon scented products. I have contact dermatitis. Artificial lemon is something that triggers it. I've used it five times and I'm about to scratch the skin of my hands just to stop the itching!
I will be annoying any guards posted in the ward and all doctors I talk to until it is changed.
What is the point of having a file if no one reads it?!?!

I got scared for a few days because I thought I might have monkeypox, but my blisters did not look like monkeypox at all. (very small bumps on my arm)
But today I just realized they appeared right after I started using a bottle of perfumed soap my mom gave to me. And in the past I often had allergic reactions to perfumed soaps like that. Sooo yeah it's just contact dermatisis lmao

Didn’t think I’d be posting another of these so soon 🥺 Swipe to heal ❤️‍🩹 ➡️
5 weeks after my horrendous allergy face flare, I had another. Legit only giving me a few weeks between each because I spent most of that time healing and then feeling and looking the best I had this year. After my flare, I really thought I’d turned a corner. I got overconfident, dyed my hair a bold color, and truly thought I was going to end the year with the best skin ever. But sadly, my body…
