when I was a kid I was generally not capable of empathy and was very unphased by traditionally sad things like hearing about children dying and was even bullied and beaten up for not being appropriately sad at stuff. and then at some point it completely switched and now I'm like?? excessively empathetic?? and VERY easily set off to the point that I have an extremely difficult time watching/reading/hearing things where people are hurt or killed without feeling intense physical pain/emotional distress

does anyone know what the fuck is up with that

Tells him how terrible he treated Cree, asking him how he could just throw away his closest friend like that—

He tries to get Lucien to tell him what changed, why he’s so consumed by his dream he’s willing to sacrifice all the people right in front of him and the life he could still have.

It reminds me of how Lucien gloats in the aftermath of his first fight with the Nein. “I nearly killed your friends. Any chance at an understanding has passed…Even you can’t stand me, mm? Where does that leave them?” The very sincere way Molly says, “That’s not how we are, Lucien. We love broken things the most.”

Molly caring too much about other lost and broken souls to let Lucien destroy himself and their family like this. Molly trusting that the Nein still love him enough to save them both in turn. The way they both get to come back again as Kingsley because of that trust and love, making peace with each other and deciding to come home to their family together.

#I’m so sad that Lucien didn’t realize he could still start over before the eyes consumed him #but it is very sweet to me that both he and molly are so loved they do get to live again and start over together #with the same family molly so loved #also the image of the two of them shaking hands at the end of the novel is so sweet #choosing to believe they saw each other as brothers in a way at the end

#i think at this point in the band they’re all just tired. they’re getting older. most things for them are at a standstill #i get why awsten would try to pick things up for some small hope at getting parx back on track for success again but also #being consumed by the business side has clearly been affecting him and the music parx puts out now #and ugh god i don't really want to compare them because they're at such different scopes of experiences but #it's kinda similar to how my chem dealt with danger days trying to make a 'happy' album after making black parade #but even that failed in the end because their popularity was waning the band was starting to fall apart and all that stuff #but the main difference between them and parx is that they actively defied what people expected their image to be #instead of parx rn who seem to play into a very shallow image of themselves with their new stuff that feels like a stilted performance #if parx manages to survive one more album after parx5 it's likely going to have kinda depressing themes and then they'll be off
