hate to say it, but part of ending the stigma around sexual assault means not assuming every woman blames herself. yes, female socialization encourages it, but that doesn’t make it a given, and the goal of all of these campaigns is to eventually diminish the proportion of women who do blame themselves. it is entirely possible, and increasingly common, for women to experience sexual assault and not feel shame or guilt, which we should be happy about. but instead, there are only so many times you can hear “you know it’s not your fault, right?” before it sounds like “it was your fault”. and there’s only so many times you can hear “don’t blame yourself” before it sounds like “you should blame yourself”. because it feels good to say, doesn’t it? sure, you don’t believe she’s guilty, but you do believe she should feel guilty, so that you can disabuse her of the notion. just something to consider.

It's so funny how Aqua talks big about manipulating Akane, yet she ends up being the person he is most honest with in the entire manga (alongside Gotanda) 😂
It's even funnier when you realize this trend started from the very moment he set out to lead Akane on!
He deliberately kisses her to trap her in a fake relationship with him, but Akane sees right through him and to the fact that he isn't looking to date her because he is romantically interested in her.
I believe this is when Aqua first begins to realize Akane is not someone who can be easily fooled, and he rewards her perceptiveness with a truth.
To me, dating is just an extension of my work: This is part of my revenge plan
I'm highly interested in you as an actress: The way you get inside Ai's mind and understand her so perfectly is extremely useful to me
So of course, Akane reads in between the lines and realizes he wants to use her for something.
From the get-go, the one time Aqua intended to lie and manipulate Akane, he couldn't do it. She immediately shot it down.
What's more, Aqua here is telling her a truth while hiding his real motives. But Akane sees through that either way.
Aqua intended for his relationship with Akane to be a lie, but from the very beginning the truth starts to slip in.
At first, it's only because Akane sees right through him. But this soon changes, and Aqua starts sharing his truths all on his own.
(Spoilers for the entire manga below the cut!)
She is also the person he opens up to about his thoughts and feelings once he thinks his revenge is over. He tells her literally everything, from the DNA tests he ran and his struggles throughout all these years, to how relieved he feels now that it's all over.
She also knows that Himekawa and the twins are related.
But this honesty streak doesn't only apply to Aqua's revenge. She's even the first person he allows to see his old acting videos!
The one thing Aqua can't tell Akane about is that he is Goro's reincarnation, but he still goes and shares his entire backstory with her either way.
He later talks big about feeding Akane information so she would find the corpse for him, but sharing Goro's backstory and feelings wasn't relevant at all!
This all gets to a point that Aqua turns to Akane for answers when he is going through an existential crisis about what to do.
What it comes down to is that Akane makes Aqua feel understood. After spending so many years hiding his truth, Aqua craves that feeling.
That's why he can't help but to reveal more and more pieces of himself to Akane, including as much as he can of the one truth he can't say to anyone at all.
Akane, thank you for finding me.
tl;dr It's hilarious how Aqua intended for his relationship with Akane to be a lie, only for it to practically become the relationship he's most honest in lol

ref sheets + info for the (genderneutral) boyos
with a repost of nightmare's ref cuz I posted it with the last nightmare batch like a dummy
'being the multiverse's self proclaimed protector, ink gave himself the job of keeping the aus from harm. Not even he knows what such job entails as aus, by their very nature, are untouchable by characters and can only be truly affected by their creators.
Ink being also nihilist at heart, does not bother to stop characters from changing script either, as no matter what path they might diverge the story from, they will always get the same ending, which is all that matters to ink.'
'a kindhearted monster with extreme tactics and black and white views, dream takes the job not of guardian but of judge. Dream completely misunderstood the purpose his mother gave him of 'creating a better world', so he took it upon himself to judge people and 'get rid of them' if he deems them a danger to others or getting in the way of his perfect utopia.
despite what might seem like cold-heartedness sometimes, dream truly has the best intentions in mind and is simply misguided.'
'greedy, sneaky, untrustworthy and scummy. nightmare is the embodiment of a snake oil salesman. First getting into the marchant business to gain money to renovate his crumbling castle, nightmare found more fun in scamming people than terrorizing them, and he slowly strayed away from his objective of becoming king and started investing more time in his selling.
Despite calling himself hatred incarnate, nightmare's hatred slowly ran out over the years and now focuses on living his life however he pleases rather than taking revenge.'

The path of the Hunt seems a bit self-contradictive.
Yes, most of the Hunt characters are proactive, energetic, enthusiastic, and singleminded, but 'hunt' in the traditional sense implies murder. Whereas most of it's characters seem to be motivated by the sanctity of human life, to a certain extent, or the idea of protection at all costs. It's usually not obvious at first glance but becomes clear when you get to know them a bit better.
Seele, who seems unfriendly and gruff at first, whose singular concern is the safety of the Underworld
Yanqing, an arrogant and overconfident child who, without hesitation, challenges two ancient legendary warriors to protect the people of the Luofu.
Sushang, who is called 'naive' in her Character details, is already a Cloud Knight at 15, who spends her days helping others and protecting the people of the Luofu.
Dr. Ratio, whose underlying philosophy of "all lives are worth living" is hidden under his stern exterior.
Topaz, whose methods are absolutely messed up and horrible, but her sincere goal is to give the people of Jarilo-VI the best chances to survive, whether they want it or not.
Boothill, who pulls a gun at everybody he meets, seems genuinely offended when Aventurine accuses him of killing his bodyguards.

I want to write some stuff for this but am actively nodding off so y'all just get an info dump before I forget it instead. (My baby loftwing being all fluffed and happy on my chest is not helping me focus lol)
Anyway! Miphlink baby!
I think it would be pretty neat if he was hard of hearing. The mix of Hylian/Zora genes mostly goes fine, but that's the one thing that just gets him. Part of it is because Zora and Hylian ears are different - Zora ears are small openings hidden under the side fins on their heads, and we all know about Hylian ears. Zora rely on different hearing sensors when underwater, hollowed out structures in their heads that allow, essentially, for echolocation. Miphlink baby is born with Hylian ears tucked behind thinner side fins, no structures for echolocation, and not the best hearing. So Link and Mipha have to sign with him most of the time, though he does hear a little better underwater since sound travels better underwater.
While Mipha's color scheme for her scales is like crystla red and creamy white, baby's color scheme is a lighter shade of red paired with Link's skin tone. He doesn't have claws, either, but he does have sharp incisors. He's got his dad's blue eyes.
As for size, when he's full grown he'll stand around the height of an adult Hylian man, so he'll be taller than his dad but short by Zora standards (I figure Mipha seems pretty short for her people's standards too - she is a teenager, of course, but like... she's shorter than Link. Girl is tiny). He's got the structural fins like any Zora, but his body proportions are those of a Hylian (longer legs, shorter torso, whereas Zora are shorter legs and longer torso).
He grows at a rate similar to Hylians - Zora age twice as slow as Hylians until they hit adulthood, and then they just... are adults for a million years. But Miphlink baby grows roughly at the rate of a Hylian, maybe a little slower, and the rest of the Domain is just floored at how fast this kid is hitting his growth milestones.
He definitely has that cute "head tail is too big for his body" thing going on that Sidon had <3
