Hello Battle Network/NT Warrior fandom, it's been a while!!

I posted a new one-shot, of an alternate/possible backstory for Maddy and ColorMan! Not a prequel to anything I've posted nor anything else I'm planning, this is moreso a standalone backstory just to see how different I could make it while also making it still fairly plausible for the games/anime/manga.

oh gods. World's toughest question-- there's so many good moments.

I thinkk for comedic moments one of the major ones that sticks out in my mind is whole goose scene in The Blue Carbuncle. Just the moment with 'no shit Sherlock' is such a fun detail. I was super excited that FINALLY an adaption uses that.

As for recent moments, both Mariana trying to hide the cat in her shirt was absolutely hilarious as well as any of John's fourth wall breaks. Like the one that I think(?) happens in Red Headed League when he adds the music in as well as the recent on in Retired Colorman. I need to do a rewatch of the latest two stories to be sure though haha

Also, can't forget Sherlock's bout of swearing in the Gloria Scott. That moment lives rent free in my mind and then immediately goes into such an interesting discussion of memory. This one might be my all time favorite I think

Also! The ending to Solitary Cyclist was so so good and it helps I've rewatched that one a bunch now. Genuinely can't believe that "She's not your wife, she's your widow" is an actual quote from the original story. SUCH a good moment for sure.

Gods. Sorry this isn't one moment but a bunch-- this podcast is too good aghufhdbugfbngbkf. I think overall though I'd have to pick the one in Gloria Scott or Solitary Cyclist. Both such good, intense moments paired with comedy. Perfect.

Thanks to @scenegraph I managed to get one of those FireMan figure kits!! Yesss!!

It was a bit hard to put together at some points, but I got through it! Also ended up being a lot more fun than I expected. :>

Explanation for last photo: I had to use some tools for "gentle persuasion" to get some of the parts to stay together. Only one of the tools is actually gentle. :P

At first I was worried I would break something if I used the hammer. But after having to deal with my fingers hurting from trying to stick some of the pieces together, I figured said pieces were probably sturdy enough to survive the hammer if they were giving me this much trouble.

And they are! I am genuinely impressed how sturdy a lot of these parts are, lol

(One last thing, I really hope they make more figures with more of the World Three Navis. Especially ColorMan, even though I'm pretty sure it'd probably be hell to trying and translate his noodle arms into a figure, but I can dream dang it!! ;o; )

OH YEAH I finished my refs for my self-insert and navi OC and her Double Soul!!!

Inkwoman can talk, but usually lets her actions speak for her, only talking either when she cannot avoid doing so or as part of a joke. Inkwoman's original operator, Teddy Tramp, was a silent performer, whose entire net battling gimmick was based around performance and making audiences laugh; their relationship was more akin to business partners than operator and navi. Somehow, at some point, the two wound up splitting, and depending on whatever I feel like using her for, Inkwoman either wanders the net as a solo navi or winds up with me. Though friendly to most other navis, Inkwoman has a uniquely bizarre relationship with Colorman: they regard each other as friendly nemeses, who refer to each other with cutesy nicknames like "Inky" and "Colorkins" as they engage in cartoonishly-violent net battles. They don't even have a past or any sort of history together, they're just Like That.

With Ink Soul, Megaman is able to utilize Inkwoman's stretchy limbs, affinity for hammer and bomb-based attacks, and knack for comedy!! Though in his case, a lot of it is rooted in Japanese humor and Showa-era anime, rather than 1930s American cartoons.

I also wrote up a one-shot of how he acquires Ink Soul!!
