hello again!! thank you so much for your help so far and your blog in general ❤️ thanks to your suggestions, my BP coco is much happier!! we’ve finally managed to get the humidity up to a whopping 72%, and we plan to lower it to about 60% when she finally finishes this bad shed. i was wondering what you thought of her current set up as it stands?

an obvious thing i need to change is to give her an identical hide on her cool side (the one on the hot side is hard to see because my husband camouflaged it, lol). we’ve already ordered one, but right now i have a humidity hide set up for her that she was using pretty frequently when her humidity was still in the 45-55% range. she’s not using it so much anymore, can i remove it now that things are looking better?

(the other thing on the wishlist is a ceramic heat emitter, since obviously we’re using those sticky underside pads right now)

You've made some really great improvements! There's a good amount of clutter in there, and with another hide I think you'll be in excellent shape. I'd consider another water dish on the opposite side from your current one - something my bps really love is when I actually dig a hole down in the substrate for the water dish to rest in so they have their own little swimming hole!

I like to give my snakes humidity hides all the time so they have the option of a very high-humidity space whenever they want it, but your humidity levels sound really good, so if you want to remove it that wouldn't hurt. I just personally like to give my snakes plenty of options!

So glad to hear things are looking up with Coco. I love how commited you are to giving her the best, and it really shows!!

July 22, 2023 - Jungkook goes live in London! He’s seen wearing the Chanel Coco Rush ring again, prominently displayed on his left pinky. Throughout the live, he plays with, and displays it. Jungkook didn’t wear this ring during performances, indicating he’s been protective of it as he’s traveled from Seoul - NYC - London for “Seven” promotions, but he’s made sure to wear it during his off time. And as he isn’t one to wear much jewelry, if any, in his personal time, we know this is a special and significant ring for him. 

Also, as an aside, I absolutely loved how honest and savage he was during this live:

pointing out his promotions felt limited (6:16, 15:31)

acknowledging he’ll make mistakes because he’s human (as we all will) (7:19-9:53)

friend zoning ARMY (not all inclusive times, but some instances were at 10:29, 20:16, 34:55, 36:46, 1:00:26, 1:04:52, 1:05:38)

chastising those throwing a fit about the explicit version of “Seven” (21:52), reminding them of his age and that this is his life (24:07)

wanting to not care what the company thinks (36:18)

Also, I know it will never happen but I’d love to get a drink with him, as he proposed we should all do one day (47:49). He’s so mature, wise, fun and thoughtful. He’d be a lot of fun to drink with and talk to.

Jungkook mentions he enjoys live shows. While IG is used for communication and to show “your color” he enjoys communicating like this, wanting to talk honestly with us.

He then reads off the comment, “Do everything you want to do.”

With what I interpret to sound like an exasperated groan, he tells us he can’t do everything he wants. He mentions in his July 30, 2023, live that he’s a public figure and singer (so naturally he has to exclude sharing things for privacy and security purposes). We also know hes under a contract and that Korea is more conservative, etc (what I’m trying to say is between his career and being in the spotlight, the contract he’s under and the country he lives in, it’s not so easy for him to just do whatever he wants, and he’s acknowledging as much.)

It’s interesting that he then mentions, “While being loved by someone.” Not being able to do everything he wants, then mentioning being loved by someone seem to connect in his mind.

This whole segment is fascinating in itself because he mentions doing this job (singer / performer) while interacting with each other (the person loved), and while he’s happy with his job, he can’t do everything he wants. It’s not possible. There’s a clear linkage between the two subjects.

As he discusses this topic, he starts to play with his ring while looking down.

I interpret this final part to mean he’s going to lighten up on restricting his relationship vs job (and I think it makes sense to consider it in this light because in this live alone he mentions wanting to be honest, continues to display and play with his Coco Crush ring and in general Taekook have been quite loud and clear about their closeness, particularly since solo era started).

He then lightens it up by saying if he messes up, we can have friendly banter between us.

When branching out into the OC Community, I connected to you all, primarily through the OC Creator Bingo. You have all become good friends to me, inspired me, been lovely commenters (both on my fics and in replying to my comments on yours), introduced me to new fandoms, sent me asks, and talked me through elements of my fics.

@shrinkthisviolet helped me dip my toe back into the Star Wars fandom, which was one of my first and treasured fandoms. I never would have watched the Obi-Wan Kenobi series without her. Lucy Kenobi was probably the first Star Wars OC that I read.

And yes, Puppycorn is here dressed as the Evil Morty from Rick and Morty, and Richard is reading Stephen King's Carrie;

Since Careen Ingle has long since confirmed that Puppycorn is not an alien, I decided to give him a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT role in the plot in AU, compared to other Unikitty's AU.

Regal Greece Ridge's Last Picture Show

The cinema scene in my home county has been remarkably stable for most of my moviegoing life. Five multiplexes with 10+ screens went up from 1996 to 2000 and a wave of smaller theater closings ended in 2002. Then, for 18 years, the status quo basically held—some temporary shutdowns for renovations or ownership changes, but that was it.

COVID-19, of course, changed all that. Regal Culver Ridge 16 closed with all the rest on March 15, 2020, but never reopened. The Cinema, last of the Rochester neighborhood theaters, went dark for over a year before reopening with new management and a new dine-in model. Pittsford Cinema 9 is following in their footsteps.

Now, with Regal's parent company facing bankruptcy, another one of their theaters is shuttering. Regal Greece Ridge (est. 1998) was, in my memory at least, the only local theater built into a shopping mall. Because it was on the other side of town, I never visited until 2014 (for viewing #5 of Godzilla with a friend who lived nearby). Then I moved nearby in 2017 and started going there semi-regularly... until AMC hired me at the end of 2018 and I got to watch most everything there for free. Since 2017 was the same year I started obsessively tracking my movie outings, I can list everything I saw at Greece Ridge: Dunkirk, Battle of the Sexes, Coco, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Every Day, Blockers, Rampage, A Quiet Place, Deadpool 2, Spider-Man: Far from Home, and M3GAN. Note the gap. I didn't have much reason to come back after I got jabbed and pledged allegiance to Cinemark, but I had to see it off.

It wasn't some hidden gem. Stadium seating, middling number of screens, no premium formats besides 3D, and not much to look at visually. But 25 years is time enough to make a lot of memories, and movie theaters are what's known as "anchor tenants"—they draw in a lot of people who can then be enticed to patronize nearby shops afterwards. So if no one swoops in to switch the projectors back on and keep the soda flowing, it'll damage every store in the mall. And it'll always be the place where I first saw the movie that broke the Internet (which I, for the record, still adore).

For posterity—it's not like newspapers print these things anymore—here are the showtimes for the theater's final day. No Scream VI, which feels a little defiant. Maybe the staff just wanted a quiet night. Hopefully they've all had time to line up better things.
