"Gaza is the example, and continues to be the example, time and again, for what happens when we fail to hold our leaders accountable for their actions and complicity. It is the story of steadfastness and resilience, of decades-long dispossession and an insistence on surviving and existing with dignity despite calculated efforts to rid Palestinians of their humanity and existence. And if we aren’t moved to act in solidarity, or at the very least, speak out, then we have lost everything."
Excerpt from "Gaza Unsilenced" by Alareer, Refaat.

Review #1: Essential Elements® Bathe Cleansing Bar
So as I had mentioned, I recently came back from vacation. This was a family trip, one we take every year, up to the pointy bit of Wisconsin. It's a gorgeous area, with plenty to do. From shopping at wonderful local businesses, to hiking scenic trails, to mini-golf, to a surprisingly tasty shot involving pickled herring, it's hard to run out of activities up there. But I'm not here to talk about my vacation. I'm here about the soap they had at the hotel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Essential Elements® Bathe Cleansing Bar is, as far as I can tell, slightly higher end bar soap that could likely be found at any number of hotels. As someone who has traveled a decent amount though, it's important to note when a hotel can provide a bit more comfort in the bathroom. And this soap is more than adequate.
Smell: 7/10
The smell was subtle for sure, but it was present nonetheless. I'll be honest, I have no idea what neroli is supposed to smell like. Citrussy maybe? Sweet? I don't know. What I do know is that it covered up the smell of chlorine after the hot tub very well. Could've been stronger for sure though.
Lather: 8/10
It didn't take much to build up a strong lather with this one. Whether as hand soap or in the shower, some water and light rubbing produced a good quality lather that spread the soap well, without causing it to become too slippery. The inclusions in the soap remained firm without leaking into the lather as well, which is appreciated.
Smoothness: 9/10
Despite the aforementioned inclusions, the soap did not scratch or grind at any point. When used on the body, the soap slid very well without causing any undo discomfort. What can I say, it was smooth and nice.
Scrubability: 6/10
While the inclusions did not cause any discomfort, they also were not very noticeable in general. Granted, I have naturally smooth skin that doesn't leave a lot of dead patches that would need to be scrubbed, but it's still nice when the expected scrub is there. Despite the words of TLC, sometimes you do want a scrub. And here it could certainly have been more noticable.
Cleaning power: 8/10
It got the job done and it got it done without much fuss. After a shower with this soap, I came out feeling refreshed and cleaned for sure. The built-up grime from a day out and about, drinking and adventuring, was quickly washed down the drain. Still, the soap has some room for improvement, as many things do.
Total Average Score: 7.6/10
A very respectable score for our first soap! Small enough to be travel sized without compromising on cleaning power, the Essential Elements® Bathe Cleansing Bar does the job well. With some improvements to the smell level and the scrub factor, it could certainly become a great soap.
Closing thoughts:
Traveling is stressful. Having a good soap doesn't have to be. I probably could've swiped a bar or two from the hotel and made my trip home easier. But we had other things on the mind, other plans. Ah well. While we were there, it was a good soap to have. I'll keep it in mind as a decent baseline to judge other hotel soaps by, as those come up in reviews.

Review: The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine (Ilan Pappé)
As someone who, until college, had been increasingly concerned about human rights violations in Gaza but, to a certain degree, bought into the idiotic notion that the whole situation was “complicated” and with “fault on both sides,” The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine by Ilan Pappé is a great place to begin. You cannot read 336 pages of Israel committing ethnic cleansing over 70+ years without…

Truffoire Reviews - The 5 Best Anti-Aging Skin Care Tips For All
Did you have at least some ideas that you don't need to spend a fortune to have solid, beautiful skin regardless of what age you are? It seems like every other person in the world out there has some sort of enemy of maturing skincare items intended to "decrease the presence of almost negligible differences and kinks" and give you "better, more youthful-looking skin". Sound natural?

Presently everything you need to do is incorporated also checks out 7 Tips with Truffoire Reviews - Comprehensive Guide To Natural Skincare.
Tumblr media
Tip #1: Saturate. There's an explanation this is first, lovely people. Skin is intended to be solid, smooth, and very much saturated, however, sun, wind, cleanser, and chilly climate will suck the dampness from your skin quicker than a wipe. Saturate your skin something like one time each day, ideally after your shower when there's a lot of dampness there and you should simply secure it. (Try not to stress folks, there are a lot of masculine-smelling creams out there. Check Vaseline items out.)
Tip #2: Fail to remember the tan. There's no such thing as a "solid" tan. The sun's UV beams are incredibly awful for your skin, and that beautiful bronze could look fabulous on the ocean front yet it's unleashing ruin on your skin. Sun harm can cause untimely maturing of the skin as lines, kinks, staining, and textural changes. Next time you need to stir things up around town, suck it up and slap on some sunblock. You'll be the one chuckling when you're the most youthful-looking individual at your group gathering.
Tip #3: Keep away from liquor. Besides being incredibly terrible for your liver, incessant or potentially unreasonable liquor admission causes your veins to widen. Ultimately that enlargement will be super durable, giving your coloring a splotchy, red appearance-and that is before the skin breaks out! (The presence of skin inflammation rosacea is likewise a typical result of liquor.) It additionally sucks the cell reinforcements from your skin, allowing it to be uncovered to harm from free revolutionaries and the untimely maturing that follows. Do not forget to read, The journey of advanced anti-aging trends with Truffoire.
Tip #4: Exercise. Practice keeps the blood streaming and helps keep your skin looking solid and lively. Specialists say you ought to get no less than 30 minutes of cardiovascular activity at least 5 days every week, which isn't close to as difficult as it sounds. Simply gear up and go for a stroll consistently after supper! (Make sure to conceal in the colder time of year, apply sunblock in the late spring, and remember to saturate!)
Tip #5: Remember to rest. Regardless of how diligently you attempt, there won't ever be over 24 hours in a day, so remember to allow your body to get the rest it merits. Keep in mind, at some point or another those packs under your eyes will be long-lasting.

Tumblr media
The balm contains 100 ml (3.38 oz) and doesn’t have a noticeable fragrance, but it does contain many essential oils.
Tumblr media
The balm is pretty standard and doesn’t feel too heavy.
Tumblr media
It's pretty oily and does start to break down to a more liquid form pretty fast.
Tumblr media
It removes makeup very nicely and is non-stripping.
Tumblr media
It doesn’t leave any oil residue once rinsed off.
Recommended use is to place an appropriate amount on dry hands and face and gently massage into the skin. It’s easy to rinse off or remove with tissue paper. It’s recommended to follow up with a cleansing foam. This is specifically formulated for sensitive skin. After using, so there are many essential oils in the ingredients list so this product is not fragrance-free. The physical fragrance isn't very noticeable, however. The cleansing balm has a very easy texture to work with and despite having a fair amount of irritants, this is a very gentle product that is suitable to any skin type, even to sensitive skin as I didn't personally notice any irritation. The ingredients are all very helpful in the skin maintaining moisture without being stripping or leaving a film or residue behind. I found this worked really well to remove dirt and gunk from my pores as well, it's also been gentle around my recent nose piercing. It's great to use as a double cleanse, both steps really help you feel clean without leaving the skin tight. I'd recommend this to anyone with dry, sensitive skin with enlarged pores.
What I like: this balm is very gentle, non-irritating, non-stripping and doesn't leave any film or residue. It's effective at removing dirt and oil and makeup is really nice to help loosen extra dirt from the pores. What I don't like: while it didn't affect me, there are several essential oils in this which can be irritants.
Pros:
Non-stripping
Gentle
Breaks down makeup easily
Removes dirt and oil effectively
Sensitive skin friendly
Doesn't leave a film or residue
Cons:
Contains irritants
Would I buy this?
Yes
Rating: 8/10

Hey vegan squids, kids, general cephalopals, and even people who don't know the delight of Splatoon. I decided to try the not ice cream Splatlands Birthday from Nektar.
Tumblr media
It is indeed birthday cake flavored with some sprinkles mixed in - like a well made Duncan Hines box that had pudding as the base, a pleasant yellow cake that you would be annoyed by from a bakery but love at home. There's tumeric which certainly shows in the color but i didn't taste it, at most there was just a little bit of tingle from it. I don't know what flavor i expected from the Splatlands really - Inkopolis seems like a place that would love berries and I'd have preferred that, but the flavor Splatfest made clear what we'd be getting from Frye.
Tumblr media
The texture was... interesting. This is not a smooth easily scooped Skoop, but rather chewy. It stretches and tears like raw dough, and it has a bit of chew to it. Which seems appropriate, like maybe Inklings haven't figured out baking and just deep fry everything even if that should be a batter. This wasn't a bad thing ultimately, just not at all what I expected. This may only apply to the Splatlands Birthday as it's the only one I've tried because it's pride month and if you know Splatoon you know why that matters.
Tumblr media
Conclusion: Pretty good, but really expensive at $7 for a single scoop, although i was full after having it for lunch so maybe it's just dense and bigger than i thought. Also not going to be confused with ice cream any time soon, but hey.
Tumblr media
3.5/5 stars as a food, 6/5 stars as a bit of "Nintendo we are desperate for Splatoon items in the US, we've seen all the amazing tie-ins in Japan, please give us something, anything" merchandise.
