SUN Group is an early East-West corporation, and often has to work primarily as a licensor for domestic production lines as a result of their unique geopolitical situation. Among their early successes are the Skała and Głaz, the former of which is a formidable city brawler.
The WK-03 Skała, a cityfighting defender mech developed by the SUN Group. Commissioned art for Metallurgent, an in-development mech TTRPG, inspired by Battletech and Armored Core.

What I remember most about the battle for Vogen was the confusion and the colossal scale of death. We fought like heroes, like each building that had even one Guardsman inside was a fortress against the enemy. Every soldier, fighting in a basement or under the stairs, stood his ground alone and accomplished the task on his own. Because in cityfighting a soldier has to be his own general. He needs to be given correct guidance and the trust of his officers. On Vogen we had neither and how we survived was a miracle.

Cadian 122nd ‘Task Force Fane’ WIP.
Taking inspiration from the Codex Battlezone: Cityfight’s battle report ‘Lords of the Night’, I decided to take a stab at doing my interpretations of what I imagine the Cadian forces of the 122nd would be like during the Battle of Vogen during the Khai-Zhan Uprising.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Captain Fane himself, with the classic combination of power sword and bolt pistol. The extra sprue in the Cadian Shock Troops kit really helps add extra variety to the Cadians, especially with officers. The majority of his kit is standard from the Cadian sprue, but the small case on his right hip is from th Tempestus Scion kit.

An unnamed sergeant for a squad of Veterans, done up as combat engineers. I really like this model since it’s got an extra bit of character to it. The helmet with the cards attached to it, the bolter, the robotic hand. The armour plates on the waist are from Victoria Miniatures, the Flak Armour Groin Guard and the Flak Armour Thigh Guard. The backpack is from the old Cadian upgrade kit from Forge World (no longer available, sadly) and the bolter ammo pouches are Space Marine standard issue. I wanted to put them onto his front like some combat rigging but dry fitting it showed it looked... dumb.

Another Veteran for a squad of combat engineers. A lot more kitbashing on this one. The arms with the rolled sleeves are from Anvil Industry’s Militia/PMC range, along with the combination sight from their Exo-Lord range, put on top of a Catachan Jungle Fighter lascarbine. Their is a gap between his left arm and left shoulder, but I covered that up with some shoulder pads from Victoria Miniatures.

The simplest conversion; the helmet with the ‘fabric’ on it and the cloaked shoulders with the sniper rifle from the Cadian Command Sprue. Simple but effective I think.

The blood of Calth is spilt, and the Nemesis Chapter is unleashed. I am extremely pleased with this tester model. The Two Thin Coats Battle Mud Wash is exactly what I wanted, underhive dirt in a bottle. I don't know how I'm going to base the Ultramarines yet - the main force, after all, will be on 25mm bases with only about 30 actual space marines. To represent Calth, I want to go hard on the cityfight ruins, but I don't want to lose a dark model on a dark base! #paintingwarhammer #warhammercommunity #gamesworkshop #warhammer30k #horusheresy #horusheresy2point0 #ultramarines30k #ultramarines #nemesisdestroyers #legiondestroyers #legionesastartes #spacemarines #hobbystreak #hobbystreakday438 (at Wakefield) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn-fhrTNBsW/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

REPOST: The Mechanik Shop
I’m a junk collector and tinkerer. I like finding things and making them into what I call “terrain.” I use this terrain for my miniatures hobby games. Mainly WARMACHINE and HORDES. Sometimes the “terrain” comes out to be a wonderful thing. But usually it’s end result is not exactly what I wanted it to be. Either way, it’s about the journey. I try to have fun with it. And then I share it with my…

A tall building for 40K, Kill Team, etc. This one uses parts from the Shrine of the Aquila set along with the old Basilica Administratum set. The side view shows the collapsed section, including the rubble pile from the honored imperium set and one of the old resin urban barricades. The piece matches up to the Shrine parts and helps sell the overall effect. It's nice to be using some of this stuff which has sat on my shelf for years! . . . . #40kterrain #administratum #basilicaadministratum #40kruins #shrineoftheaquila #kitbashing40k #40kscenery #warhammer40kscenery #buildingterrain #honoredimperium #killteamterrain #killteamscenery #sectorimperialis #urbanconquest #urbanruins #cityfight #urbanruin #citiesofdeath https://www.instagram.com/p/B66W1fhHa_p/?igshid=1peskn3ku26yb

So, I lied about being done with the Sector Imperialis terrain. After seeing the new Urban Conquest objective markers - the reliquary, especially - I was inspired to build this ruined chancel for the shop's Cityfight board.
In a perfect world, it'd be modular with other wall sections that describe the rest of the floorplan, including the nave and transepts; but the sheer amount of structural components needed make it prohibitively expensive, with so many of the arches only available in one kit.
I do have an idea for a cathedral entrance that I'm going to try with the remaining components, but further compromises will likely be necessary. It's just a shame that Games Workshop no longer sells individual sprues. Even at, say, twenty bucks a frame, I would absolutely buy the parts I need in bulk.
