=====
I woke up with my head smushed against Jiyong's shirt, and his arms wrapped tightly around my body. Which is to say: I woke up confused. I remembered everything, but I couldn't really make sense of it.
I was not the type to back down from a building argument. At least, I tried not to be. And kissing him again? I knew how I had gotten there, but in the light of day I just couldn't make the logic work out the same as it had last night.
But I could work that stuff out later. Right now, I had to peel a human banana clip off of myself and track down a production… assistant? Director? It occurred to me that I didn't actually know what Chul's job title actually was.
Again, not a priority at the moment.
I shook my head, trying to knock loose the cobwebs that had accumulated in there overnight. I immediately regretted the action as an invisible band tightened itself around my temples.
Muffling a groan, I rolled towards the edge of the bed, finding my escape from his clutches easier than I had expected.
Jiyong only let out a soft whine, but stayed asleep. I grabbed one of the pillows and pushed it towards his arms. He readily accepted it, pulling it into his body in a stranglehold.
=====
Once I was above deck, I located a staff person that I vaguely recognized. I had seen her around a few times, typically with an assortment of cords in her hands.
This morning however, she was leaning against a railing. In one hand she had some sort of snack bar, in the other she seemed to be scrolling through sns.
As I approached, she gave me an apologetic look - covering her somewhat full mouth and bowing. I waved a hand and shook my head, hoping I was coming off as nonchalant and not grimacing too much from the growing dizziness between my eyes.
"Sorry for interrupting," I started, "I just wanted to know if Chul is around."
"Mm," she paused, finishing chewing before continuing, "he's still downstairs. I guess he's got motion sickness pretty bad."
"Ah," I frowned, "I was hoping to talk to him before everything really got started today."
"Hmm…" she looked a little unsure.
"Please."
After a second, she nodded. "I'll show you," she offered.
I followed her back below deck.
=====
The room was smaller. Substantially so. Obviously meant as staff quarters.
It annoyed me, but I figured I'd gone on enough anti-capitalist tangents before. Besides, if Chul wasn't feeling well there was no reason for me to bring more negativity to him.
I also had something more urgent to address.
Chul looked like shit. He was rumpled. Hair stuck out at odd angles, wrinkled clothes, and that wince of illness. He was busy shaking some tablets onto his hand.
"Hey," I took a seat on an empty bunk, "anything I can do to help?"
He shook his head, wincing again.
"I've got dramamine and pain killers," he huffed, "I'll live. What's up?"
I sunk into myself slightly, feeling a little guilty that I was - once again - coming to him for a favor.
"I…" I paused as another staffer came in for a moment. They grabbed a bag and left without a word. Wordlessly, Chul handed me the bottle of pills. Taksen. I took two, nodding in thanks as he handed over a bottle of water as well.
I waited an extra second after swallowing the pills before starting again.
"I'm worried about this week."
Chul nodded, silently urging me to continue.
"I woke up and…" I blinked, brows dipping as I thought it over again, "I can't make sense of last night."
"Yeah," he agreed, "I didn't expect you two to get over things so quickly."
"Exactly!" I nodded - ignoring the headache, "it's like Ji… he just knows how to get past my guard somehow."
Chul hummed, a thoughtful look taking over his features.
"But… what does this have to do with me?" He asked.
"I… I don't know. I just wanted…" I frowned. What did I want? Someone to keep an eye on me? Someone to talk to?
"I just wanted to know if I was crazy or not for thinking it was strange."
He laughed. Not at me. More of a what can I say sort of laugh.
"The whole thing is strange. Has anything happened to you this last month that isn't strange?"
I rolled my eyes, huffing at him and crossing my arms.
"Okay," I conceded, "but this is extra strange. I couldn't stand his jealousy, but one conversation later I let him sleep in my bed?"
Chul lifted an eyebrow, teasing me.
"Shut up," I snapped, "nothing happened. Just sleep."
He shook his head, raising his hands as if showing his innocence.
"But it's still weird!" I pushed. "I remember the conversation. That one bit shouldn't have been enough."
He sighed, shrugging.
"This whole thing between you two has been a roller coaster. Maybe this is just another up."
I groaned, but didn't speak. He had something close to a point.
"You just have to survive a few days. Tomorrow is a group day, then Sunday as well."
"You know that this won't just end on Sunday," I grumbled.
"True," he leaned forward, patting my knee reassuringly, "but we can worry about that next week. For now, let's just focus on today."
"Fine," I agreed, "but just…"
I stumbled over my words again.
Luckily, Chul knew what I was getting at.
"Hey, I can always make up some technical interruption if you need me to. Not forever, but for five minutes at least."
I nodded. Standing up, I placed a hopefully not overly familiar hand on his shoulder.
"Thank you Chul," I squeezed his shoulder slightly, "seriously."
He nodded.
=====
I had hoped that Jiyong would be gone by the time I returned to my cabin. Or at least still dead asleep. Instead he sat up when I entered, pouting over my pillow at me.
I froze, just for a second. Thankfully, he seemed sleepy enough to have missed it.
"You left me alone," he croak-whined.
"I figured you could use the sleep," I shrugged. I sat on the edge of the bed and hauled my backpack from where I had stashed it on the little armchair yesterday.
His pout stayed in place as he shoved the pillow behind himself and lifted his arms towards me.
"Come back to me, my love."
I cringed at the endearment. It sounded hollow somehow.
"Luna?"
I looked up, meeting his gaze. His eyebrows were drawn together, and he appeared to be giving me a thorough looking over.
"Hmm?"
He didn't immediately answer. Instead, he sat up and leaned forward. Supporting himself on his knees and one hand, he reached forward and pushed the hair out of my face.
"Are you not feeling well? I'm sure I have medicine or something with me."
I shook my head, pulling away from his hand.
"No," I turned my attention back to my bag, "I already got something from Chul."
Jiyong crawled forward, invading the space next to me.
'What did he give you?"
I shrugged, still searching through my bag. "Just something for my headache. You know how it i- Ah there it is!"
I held my toothbrush aloft in triumph.
Jiyong smiled, presumably at my antics, but continued his questioning.
"But what specifically?"
"Why does it matter?" I retorted, moving towards the ensuite so I could finally brush my teeth. I laughed at Jiyong's expression, now looking extra concerned. "I doubt he'd try to drug me or something."
"Of course," he nodded slowly, "he'd have to be a psycho to do something like that."
He moved awkwardly, getting himself untangled from the bed so he could follow me.
"Still," he took up residence behind me now, sneaking a hand around my stomach as I brushed my teeth, "it might react poorly with that tea."
I rolled my eyes at him through the mirror. I felt crowded, but resisted the urge to push him away. Maybe it was the… was this a hangover? PMS? Regardless, there was an uncomfortable feeling lingering through my body that I couldn't help interpreting as danger.
Jiyong took my lack of rejection as encouragement. He hooked his chin on my shoulder and lifted his free hand to brush my hair back from my face.
"I want to make sure that you're safe, my love."
That was going to get real old, real fast.
I shrugged myself from his clutches, spitting and rinsing my mouth before speaking.
"It was just Taksen," I turned to face, fixing what I felt was the fakest smile I had ever worn onto my face, "I'm sure I'll be fine Ji."
=====
We had lunch on the boat, a vegetarian take on naengmyeon.
"You know," I broke a not quite awkward silence as we ate, "I used to hate soup."
Jiyong looked up from his dish, frowning slightly.
"I'm sure they could make something else."
"No," I shook my head, "this is fine. I just was against soup on principle."
Jiyong blinked, squinted, and finally placed his elbow onto the tabletop and his chin into his palm.
"On principle."
It wasn't exactly a question, but it was clear he wanted further information.
"Well," I lifted my spoon, observing its contents closely. After a moment, I downed the liquid before continuing. "Soup is different back home." I held the spoon up, now watching the way the sunlight reflected off its surface.
Jiyong patiently watched my antics.
"Mostly it just seemed like someone made a meal and then," I shrugged, "decided to put it in water."
Jiyong looked down at his own bowl, brows drawing together as he considered the food before him.
"How is that different than this?"
I shrugged again. "Soup here seems to be done on purpose."
His frown deepened for a moment. Then, after shaking his head, he burst out laughing.
"What?" I asked, unable to remain serious in the face of his outburst, "what's so funny?"
"I just," he shook his head again before leaning forward and resting his chin in his palm, "never know what you're going to say next."
A month ago - hell even a week ago - I would have expected that sentiment to be accompanied by a frown. Disapproval of what and how I choose to be. Now however…
He seemed to have forgotten his food, simply gazing at me with something like wonder writ across his face.
"Eat," I nodded towards his bowl.
His smile deepened. Shaking his head, his lips parted to speak.
"I-"
"Don't tell me you're full by watching me," I cut him off. "You need to eat."
He let out an abrupt laugh, but lifted his spoon regardless.
=====
I wasn't sure if it was exactly typical for yachts to pull up on Sindo. From what I could see, the boat that we were on was the only non-ferry visible. There was some discussion between pier staff, show staff, and even Jiyong himself at one point, before we were able to fully… park? I made a mental note to look up proper boating terminology.
Something about the way that Jiyong returned from the conversation sent a flag up in my mind. He looked sheepish, but happy - victorious, but a little shy. He had a bounce in his step that translated to his silly straw sun hat flopping slightly as he approached.
He looked like a dad on vacation that had just gotten a bargain.
"Is everything okay?" I asked as soon as he was close enough to talk to.
"Yes," he quickly answered. "I just have to, ah…" that slightly embarrassed look replaced his smile for a second.
"You didn't bribe them, did you?"
He laughed, but didn't answer. Not directly anyway.
"The manager's wife is a fan," he explained. "I just offered to sign a picture."
I squinted at him, trying to play up my disapproval.
"Jagi~," he stepped closer and wrapped an arm around my shoulder, "I got us a spot, right?"
I pursed my lips, letting out a "hmmph" noise.
"I did well," he wiggled my shoulders back and forth, teasing, "right jagiya?"
"I guess it's okay," I gave him a sidelong look, "as long as we're not breaking a law or anything."
A slightly confused look took over his features for a moment as he tilted his head.
"I don't think so," he murmured, "even if there is one, it will only be a fine."
I sighed deeply, remembering a phrase that my friends back home and I used to say pretty often: 'Punishable by a fine' just means 'legal for rich people.'
=====
We navigated renting some scooters, including two bigger ones that were more like golf carts for the staff and their gear, and headed out. It was already near noon when we had arrived, so we stopped in a small cafe for something to eat before heading towards Modo.
It was something like a break, but not really. Jiyong had suggested we share a scooter, but I had wanted a little bit of extra freedom.
"Think of the show," Jiyong pouted.
"I am," I countered. "Just imagine how fun it will be for the audience when I inevitably run off on my own and you have to chase me down."
I heard Chul snort out a laugh somewhere off camera at that.
"My love," Jiyong's pout deepened, "think of the way their hearts will flutter when you put your hands around my waist."
I shook my head, rolling my eyes for good measure.
"That's actually dangerous. If anything I'd have to grab your hips or shoulders," I shrugged. "Holding your waist messes with your center of balance."
The pout was gone. In its place was a blank stare, seasoned by a few blinks.
In the end, I allowed him to "convince" me. Truth be told, I was beginning to have a headache again, and I figured I might be better off if I let him "drive". I also begged another painkiller off Chul, who made a point of holding the back of his hand to my forehead and squinting at my eyes and hands.
"Do I pass the inspection?"
Chul's eyes narrowed, "for now. Here."
With that, I was handed a tablet, a bottle of water, and a helmet before settling in behind Jiyong on the little moped.
=====
The air on my face felt nice, doing a little bit to clear the ache in the center of my forehead. It also helped that most of what I could smell was salt, mud, and algae. I breathed deep, shutting my eyes to block any potential motion sickness from compounding the horrendously loud pounding of blood in my ears.
I was a little disappointed at missing most of the view while we rode. I had searched the island online when the plan was initially proposed and knew that I was surrounded by greenery and farms. I hoped I'd be able to see them on the way back.
At first, I was a little bitter about going to Modo with Jiyong. It was on my list, buried in my liked photos on my private Instagram. Somehow, I doubted Jiyong knew that though. Much more likely was the chance that he simply looked up day trips on the islands and things to do.
Not that that was a bad approach. I had simply been spoiled by Seunghyun and Daesung's attentiveness.
I allowed myself a moment of malcontent before convincing myself not to let petty details ruin Baemikkumi for me.
Getting an afternoon snack also helped. I excused myself to the bathroom after ordering, taking an extra moment to pat some cool water over my face and neck. The day was hot, extra humid due to being on the series of islets.
It also gave me a moment to respond to messages that I had been ignoring.
From: Hugeboy Any clarity on that mysterious situation you were in? σ(^_^;)? From: Hugeboy Ah… I know you're probably just busy but still it feels a bit… From: Hugeboy I want to call you From: Hugeboy But I don't want to be a bother From: Hugeboy I miss you 。・(つд`。)・。 From: Hugeboy Maybe I should be embarrassed about saying that From: Hugeboy No! I don't care if it's embarrassing! From: Hugeboy I! Miss! You! ♡♡♡♡♡ (*T^T)
I couldn't help but to half smile, half pout, at his messages. Reading back over them I couldn't help but feel a little bad about not having responded. Still, I supposed I had a pretty good reason. At least on Sunday.
To: Hugeboy Would you believe me if I said I miss you too? To: Hugeboy I had a sort of… medical issue?? To: Hugeboy Nothing serious. Just stress. To: Hugeboy Honestly, I think I'm still recovering.
For perhaps the second time ever, he didn't instantly respond. Well, that's only fair. I checked my other messages.
From: Zico You know what I'm going to say, right? ㅋㅋㅋ From: Zico I think he's really lost it this time From: Zico Seriously… are you a witch or something? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
That last message had been accompanied by a blurry video of what appeared to be Mino. He sat with his phone in his hands, staring at it with an obvious pout on his lips. I couldn't truly make out what he was saying, but I could tell it was something like:
"... doesn't… nothing…"
A few seconds before the video ended, a new message came in from Zico.
From: Zico
I would ask why Mino just texted me asking for advice on playing it cool, but I think I already know the answer.
I snorted a laugh and quickly typed a reply.
To: Zico Why should he start now?
To: Hugeboy I like that you're embarrassing~~ ♡ To: Hugeboy Better to be embarrassing and real than to be cold and uncaring From: Hugeboy Fine! I miss you more than makes sense (*T^T) From: Hugeboy When can I see you? To: Hugeboy I don't know. I'm sorry. From: Hugeboy It's not your fault \(_ _) To: Hugeboy Still… To: Hugeboy I have to go. I'll message you again soon I promise.
With that, I clicked my phone back to locked, and headed back outside.
=====
Jiyong insisted we rehydrate, a set of iced teas mixed with fruit juice already on the table when I returned.
"Making sure to take care of me?" I teased him.
"I always take care of you."
At Jiyong's suggestion, plenty of photographs were taken. Primarily of me. I did offer a few times to take pictures of him, but he'd simply shake his head and say he had enough photos of him to last a lifetime.
That seemed both reasonable and a little unfair. Not to him. He was right. Nobody needed more photos of him. But it was unfair to put me in the spotlight with so little warning.
Once we were in the park, it was every few minutes with him. He'd point at something and ask me to pose next to it. As if I knew the first thing about posing.
I tried to push the negativity out of my mind. For years I had been the photographer for my friends. Ninety percent of the photos that existed of me were mirror selfies, or taken using a makeshift tripod and the timer function. I took a moment to be grateful for the influx of proof of life provided over the last few weeks.
Besides, the picture of me being held in giant metal hands did come out nicely.
=====
Just a short while later, Jiyong was sulking.
Well, not actually. He was playing it up for sympathy, scowling as the yacht pulled closer to the dock on the mainland. I pretended that I hadn't noticed.
"It's a shame," I said as casually as I could.
I was rewarded with shining puppy eyes from Jiyong.
"We didn't even get a chance to go into the ocean water this whole time."
Jiyong grimaced. Obviously, this was not what he had been hoping to hear. No doubt he would have liked for me to say I wished we could spend another night on the boat. Or perhaps that I didn't want to return to the house.
Truth be told, I was itching to get into the giant tub in my room. I couldn't wait to stretch out in a familiar bed again.
But the summer sun was still well above the horizon, so I was willing to bet that the approaching dock was not the end of the day.
=====
We ended our day at a bar masquerading as a barbecue restaurant. Nothing fancy, thank god. Just a little meat, a few vegetables, and a small gas fire to cook them over.
And soju.
Of course soju.
I contemplated the mushroom tipped shaft before me, pretending to ignore the shot that Jiyong had placed beside my plate.
"Come on," he whined slightly, meat tongs now back in hand. "Don't make me drink alone."
I sighed, biting the earthy brown cap off the skewer in my hand before turning to down the drink.
"That's my girl."
I made a point of rolling my eyes at his words. He just laughed and tossed back his own drink.
He's in a good mood. We had been in that weird confrontation for so long that I had forgotten about this version of him. Relaxed, happy, not mistaking jokes for attacks - this was the version of him I had fallen for in those early days.
"Hey."
I blinked, shaking my head slightly as I came back into the moment. The cup next to my plate was full again. I reached out to take it, but two fingers fell across the top to stop me. Looking up, I saw Jiyong watching me with that soft look he had been wearing for the last two days.
"Where'd you go?"
The seat I was in didn't really have a back to it, otherwise I would have leaned back. As it was, I supported myself with an elbow on the edge of the table.
"I was just thinking. About the beginning."
A moment of silence passed between us then. For me, it was reflective. For him… well…
He shook himself out of it and set the food aside so it didn't burn. After making sure everything was safely set, he sat down facing me. He shuffled to the edge of his seat and reached forward to grab the legs of mine to pull me closer.
"What?" It felt like a reasonable enough question.
"It can be like that again, jagiya."
He picked up my hand from the table, winding it into his own. His thumb brushed over my fingers for a moment before he pulled my palm to his cheek. Quickly, he pressed a kiss against my hand before securely holding it against his skin.
"I can make it like that again," he stared, an intensity that made my skin flush but also crawl.
"Ji," I tried to pull my hand away.
"No," he renewed his grip, pressing another kiss against my fingers before continuing, "I'll do whatever I need to do to make you realize that it should be me."
I experience an odd mix of reactions to that. My neck tensed, hairs prickling up off my skin as if his words had sent a cold breeze across my back. I felt goosebumps raise over my arms.
On the other hand, my stomach swooped and fluttered. A warmth spread down from my gut, part of my body clearly reacting well to the earnestness of his words.
"Just let me prove it to you this week."
=====
I silently wished that we had taken one of the company cars to the pier yesterday. Not necessarily one of the giant vans, but just something with another driver. A chaperone.
As we hadn't, I was stuck in Jiyong's car with him. Not that I thought he'd do anything too scandalous. There were still cameras in his car after all.
No, it was a more internal issue than that. With an external cause. That I was internally incapable of solving.
Jiyong's hand was on my thigh.
Which was fine. It was fine. It was a respectful enough distance between my knee and my hip. It was simply resting there, largely inactive save for a few swipes of his thumb over my skin. It was fine. I could deal with this.
Except for that gut churning warmth from before that was still sitting behind my waistband. Except for the tell-tale sensation of my body preparing itself for something that it was not going to get.
But it was nice. In a way.
I glanced at Jiyong, which may have been a mistake. I don't like to think of myself as being shallow but good lord the budding tension would be easier to prune back if he wasn't so fucking pretty.
=====
Finally we were back home, as much as that word meant anything anymore.
I was glad to be back in the house. I tried to remember where I was in my cycle. Had I last had my period during Seungri's week? Maybe it had been Daesung's? It wasn't totally out of the question that my hormones were simply amped up.
It usually wasn't this noticeable though. I was overtly aware of the wetness between my legs. Every step I took was accompanied by a naggingly persistent glide of self-lubricated flesh.
In a number of different situations, it would be titillating. In this one it was almost concerning.
"I'm going to head to bed," I was perhaps a bit curt with my words, but I was aching to get into the bathroom and clean myself up.
"Are you feeling okay?" Genuine concern filtered through Jiyong's words.
Maybe I wasn't doing as good of a job covering as I had thought.
"I'm fine," I cleared my throat. Doing my best not to meet his eye, I came up with a weak excuse. "I'm just tired from traveling and everything."
In the periphery of my vision, I was aware that he was nodding. I pretended to focus on putting my shoes away neatly.
"Jagi," his hand found my wrist, "I…"
I forced myself to meet his eye. He really was so fucking pretty.
I wasn't aware that my mouth had opened until I felt his thumb brush over my bottom lip. When had his hand reached my face?
Against my better judgment, my tongue dipped out - primarily to wet my lips, but incidentally lapping at his skin.
He even tasted pretty.
This close, I could see the blemishes underneath his makeup.
"Oh you guys are back."
Jiyong pulled away from me, scalded by embarrassment or annoyance.
Taeyang stood in the openway, in all the glory of what I was sure was one half of a matching couple's pajama set, holding a glass of water. His eyes shifted between the two of us. There may as well have been chemical formulas flying around his head with how hard he was staring at us.
Good lord I was glad to see him. His presence had been exactly the shock I needed to escape whatever was going on with me. Hormones, alcohol… whatever it was, I was glad for the distraction.
"I'll go first," I mumbled, carefully avoiding touching either of them as I moved.
=====
My body bounced with the force I had thrown myself at the mattress. The inspection I had given myself in the shower had confirmed what I already knew. I debated texting Daesung, weighing the chances of us somehow getting caught. Typically I'd have no problem staying quiet, but with how amped up I was… there was really no telling.
Though I had teased him about tying him to the bed. What better time to try it than ri-
My thoughts were cut off by a tapping at the glass doors. Scrambling for decency's sake, I retracted my hand that had been making its way between my legs of its own accord. I tightened my robe around myself before pulling the curtain aside just enough to see who was there.
I was greeted by raised eyebrows paired with one hand holding a bottle, and the other holding a pair of wine glasses. The eyebrows jumped comically. Laughing, I took a step back and unlocked the door to pull it open.
"I thought you might need to debrief."
I shrugged, making my way to the seat by the vanity.
"It's legitimately strange how well you know me sometimes."
Seunghyun just smiled as he toed off his shoes and slid the door shut behind him. After being prompted by a pointed nod from me, he made sure the curtains were back in place as well - a shield for our private conversations.
"I heard he took you on a boat," Seunghyun stated it like a fact, but I could tell he wanted confirmation.
I hummed, watching him uncork the bottle and pour us both a glass. His fingers were deft and swift. They moved with confidence through the series of motions.
"-by? Yah…"
I shook my head, pulling myself back to the moment.
"Sorry," I frowned, "what were you saying?"
He chuckled, holding a glass out towards me. I stood to take it, standing perhaps a little closer to him than was absolutely necessary.
He held his glass towards me. Raising my own, I lightly tapped it against his.
He gave me a pointed look.
"No," I said, "you should drink first oppa."
He raised an eyebrow at that, but he also raised his glass. After allowing him to take his time to taste the wine and swallow, I spoke up again.
"How is it?"
"Jammy," he said after considering his words carefully, "a little tart. Not bad."
I hummed.
He had to have known what I was doing. No way was I subtle about it.
He didn't stop me though.
I couldn't really make out such details that would lead to the descriptor of "jammy", but I could taste the remnants of sweetness and sourness well enough on his tongue.
After a moment I pulled away. Lifting my hand, I thumbed away an invisible droplet from his lips. The thumb was then placed against my own, my tongue coming out to taste it in a much more acceptable adaptation of the earlier moment with Jiyong.
Trained as they were on his face, it didn't escape my eyes the way Seunghyun's attention was locked onto the movement.
"Put that away before you cause trouble," his voice sounded strained when he spoke.
"Hmm…" I smiled up at him, "don't want to."
He took a moment to carefully place both of our glasses further back on the vanity. Straightening up afterwards, he took another moment to look me over. One of his arms looped around my back, pulling me close as his eyes ran over my face, neck, and assorted other spots of exposed skin.
Eventually, his eyes landed back on mine.
"How are you feeling?"
What a loaded question. I had already been fighting a losing battle against an unexpected wave of arousal when he showed up. I was a little embarrassed that all thoughts of Daesung had been pushed from my mind until this exact moment. That of course led to a brief detour into shame. That particular spiral was then cut short by how good Seunghyun's fingers felt on my skin when he reached up to brush my hair from my face.
His stern features were soft. It was a look that I kept seeing from him more and more often. A look I could see myself getting used to.
A look that simplified my answer.
"Good."
He nodded, serious as ever.
"A little more…" I tilted my head, thinking of how to describe it, "awake than I expected," I admitted.
There was a moment then. We both seemed to be waiting for something, but I didn't know what that might be.
It turned out to be my tongue. Once again, I slid it over my lips. More from nerves than anything else.
Seunghyun dropped his head slightly to press his lips against mine.
I hoped he wouldn't hold the sound I made against me. It was embarrassing enough just to have such a strong reaction to him. My head spun, thinking about the ups and downs of our dynamic over the last month. Or maybe it was from the kiss itself.
We had kissed before. Obviously. But this was different. This was a fight against a riptide, and I was more than willing to drown.
"Baby," Seunghyun was mumbling against my lips.
I groaned, annoyed at the attempted interruption.
"Baby."
He forced us apart this time. It was like he was determined to ruin the vibe.
"What?" I couldn't help the annoyed tone that slipped into my voice.
Confusion flashed over his face for a moment before he hardened his gaze.
"What happened?"
I blinked. I was not following his train of thought at all.
"What… you mean with Jiyong?"
He nodded, solemnly watching me.
"Nothing," I shrugged. "We went on a boat, we went to a sculpture park, we…"
I cut myself off. Did it really matter? A momentary lapse in judgment in a yacht hot tub with a man who was functionally my ex?
"Baby," softer this time, "you don't have to hide anything from me."
"We…" I huffed, then started again, "I…"
Seunghyun maneuvered the both of us, moving so he could sit at the vanity and pull me onto his lap.
"Take your time."
I let him pull me into him. Resting my head against his shoulder, reveling in the feeling of his hands soothing down my back. Breathing deeply, I could smell some faint cologne struggling to cover up that ever present tobacco scent that clung to him.
"It's stupid." I was pouting again, but trying not to let it color my voice too much. I'd much rather go back to the kissing than talk about how Jiyong could seemingly climb inside my skull at will.
"What is?"
"Me," I moved against him, getting my head into a more comfortable position. If that position also put me in closer reach of teasing his neck and ear… he didn't seem to notice, "probably."
"We both know that's not true," he laughed.
I didn't protest, but I didn't agree either. Instead, I simply sighed heavily, trying to sneak my lips onto where I could feel his pulse in his neck.
"Baby," he gently admonished me. His hands pulled me upright to meet his eyes again. "You know I'd love to keep going, but you also know this is a coping mechanism."
I rolled my eyes, "don't pretend you know me better than I know myself."
That got a reaction out of him.
His hand raised, tightly gripping my chin so there was no way I could look away again.
"Listen to me baby," his voice had gone deep with the intensity of his message, "I would have no issue fucking you until you couldn't walk, if that's what you truly wanted."
Another embarrassing sound eked its way up my throat and out from between my lips.
Seunghyun paused his lecture to kiss me, rougher than I had expected. He bit my lower lip, pulling a groan from me as he pulled back.
"However," he shook my chin slightly, demanding my attention raise from his lips to his eyes again, "I will only do so when I am one hundred percent certain that it is what you want and not just a distraction."
What was there for me to do besides blink? And after that, what option did I have but to start crying?
"Baby," he dropped his grip from my chin and tugged me against his body in a tight hug. "Oh, sweetheart, don't cry. I'm sorry baby. Please don't cry."
"I… I just don't understand…" I sobbed, embarrassment no longer a concern. "How…. He… Ji…"
"Deep breath baby," he crooned into my ear. He started rocking slightly, obviously going all out in his attempt to comfort me. "Breathe for me. You have all night to tell me what happened."
I'm sure all eloquence was lost as I tried to explain through unintelligible sobs and the deep breaths that Seunghyun would occasionally remind me to take, but eventually I was able to explain my concerns. At least to the point that Seunghyun eventually started telling me that I didn't need to explain anymore.
"It's okay, baby," his voice was low, quietly reassuring me, "I understand."
"The worst part is I don't even know why I care," I whined, "I just want him out of my head."
By now, we had made our way onto my bed. Seunghyun laid on his side, arms pulling me protectively into his chest while I had rambled out my complaints.
"Just being around him is like getting drunk," I mumbled. "I feel defenseless."
"You-"
A knock on the glass doors interrupted him. He frowned, looking down at me questioningly.
"Did you invite Daesung down?"
I shook my head, nerves twisting my gut.
"Maybe he want-"
My text tone interrupted me. Shuffling to free my hand from between Seunghyun's and my bodies, I turned to grab it from where I had dropped it on the mattress earlier.
From: Llyong Boho Awake?
I shut my eyes, holding my phone up for Seunghyun to see. I felt the soft vibration of another message coming in while he looked at the screen.
Seunghyun's jaw tightened. He took the phone from my hand and sat up.
"Don't…"
He leaned down to press a kiss against my forehead.
"I'm not going to message him. Just wait here for a moment, okay? I'll tell him you're sleeping."
I nodded, wondering why he looked so tense.
He stood up and ran his hands through his hair a few times. Back and forth, messing it up and then smoothing it back. After a second he undid the buttons of his shirt, all of them undone before he misbuttoned one near the middle. He paused for half a second. Nodding to himself, he then took his belt off. He let the leather strap land on my floor before he turned his attention back to me.
"Unlock your phone."
I pressed my thumb against the fingerprint reader and handed it over to him.
"Thank you baby. Pull the blanket over yourself, okay?"
I did as he asked, going as far as turning to face away from the sliding doors so Jiyong wouldn't see my face.
I heard the plastic rattling sound of the curtain runners, followed by the whooshing noise of the sliding door opening.
"What do you need?"
"What are you doing here?"
The crunching of gravel, followed by the whoosh of the door. I assumed Seunghyun had stepped outside.
It was a little disappointing to not be able to hear the conversation. However, I could appreciate not being drawn into it at all.
After maybe fifteen minutes, there was that whoosh yet again. I felt my body tense up.
"Baby?"
I relaxed, turning over to look up at Seunghyun. He gave me a small smile.
"He went back upstairs."
I nodded, "you didn't have to do that."
He placed my phone on the bedside table before unbuttoning his shirt again.
"I know, but I'd rather I deal with him than make you do it."
He moved as he spoke, draping his shirt over the seat by the vanity before turning back towards me. He nodded at the space next to me on the bed.
"Can I?"
Rather than answer, I simply opened my arms towards him.
His smile was wider this time, as he bent down to crawl up the mattress and over my body.
Supporting himself on his knees and forearms, he brushed his nose along my neck. It was followed by his lips pressing against my jaw.
"Hyun…" I sighed out his name as what had started as me baring more of my neck towards him turned into a stretch.
"Yes?" He asked, pulling away to watch me.
I traced my fingertips over his ribs and onto his back, pouting slightly. "Don't stop."
He moved, working one of his knees between mine and coming in for a kiss.
Just shy of my lips, he spoke again.
"I'm still not going to fuck you tonight."
I whined, digging my nails into his back to further express my annoyance.
He laughed, leaning onto his side slightly so he could run a hand down the side of my body.
"If you need me that badly," he paused to kiss my cheek lightly, "there are other things I can do."
His fingers paused, dipped just slightly under the waistband of my pajama shorts.
"Would you like that baby?"

The Day You Met T.O.P
A BIGBANG fanfic by AbsentCaryatid
Your birthday surprise tangentially related to a favorite K-pop group turns out far better than your brother ever could have planned.
1.4K words, Content note: gender neutral reader, no romance
~
Your brother would get credit for the idea to join him for a week as he summered in Tarquinia, Italy for his doctoral research. The cost however, was borne by your parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles who had saved together to very generously pay your way in honor of such a milestone birthday. The trip of a lifetime had already been a dream come true with your knowledgeable host and guide. So far, you had enjoyed sightseeing together in the historic small town but for your birthday itself your brother had a far more recently built attraction in mind. It was a short drive through the beautiful tree-lined countryside before he pulled up at Piani degli Alpaca.
“This name is familiar.”
He grinned, “It will come to you. You know how I always have promised you'd see BIGBANG one day? I'll do what I can to get us tickets when they start touring again but for now this is the closest I could get.”
By your face it was easy to tell when you figured what that meant. Breaking into laughter you marveled, “This is that alpaca farm Choi Seunghyun has as his only Instagram follow!” The eccentric eldest member of BIGBANG was your favorite and you enjoyed the variety of content he shared with fans including plenty of visual arts and artists. Popular as he was, the only account T.O.P followed was this very business and you were ecstatic to be there. “So, can I meet the alpaca they named after him?”
“Well,” he hedged looking at the signboard, “we got here on the late side just after noon and they close for midday. We might have to come back later when they reopen at 3 PM.” He parked the rental car, then as you both got out noticed the portable signboard announcing a special booking that afternoon. He cussed under his breath at the unexpected news. Not that you could read Italian, but with enough English speaking tourists the bilingual message was understandable to you as well.
Given the circumstances, it was fortunate your brother knew 14th century Italian as a side effect of being a classical literature major specializing in Dante and Boccaccio. His present-day Italian was coming along but not quite fast enough. The staff member collecting entrance fees did not speak your language but with a lot of patience and good humor on both sides your sibling successfully begged to quickly pop in to get you to see T.O.P the alpaca. After all, you would be leaving the country tomorrow and this was his only chance to get you in. That particular animal had not come up in his literature studies but from the signs around the farm it was easy to guess the word was the same in Italian as English.
The ticket agent had taken pity on you both after a bit of work to understand his far out of date speech. It had been your good idea to show off your ID card which was a deciding factor. The great distance you had journeyed, and that it really was your birthday today, earned an agreement to sneak you in quickly. Drawing the shade over the window to close for the day, she left the booth and escorted you straight to TOP's enclosure.  The grounds had already cleared out of other tourists as far as you could see, so the next thing that happened came as a surprise in several ways.
Aiming your phone, your brother was about to take a picture when a deep voice offered assistance so you could be in the photo with the alpaca together. Handing the device over without looking, but plenty of grateful thanks, he headed toward TOP the alpaca. Wondering if you had been bitten, your brother was concerned by the shocked look on your face as he approached the pen. Once at your side, a glance back to the flamboyantly dressed man now holding your phone gave an answer. If he was not Choi Seunghyun himself he was a perfect twin and just as stunning.
Laughing, T.O.P, for that was indeed who it was, reminded the two of you to smile. While he would not pose with you for a picture because that would be something every fan would then ask for on sight, you did discover a selfie taken before the alpaca one and it was a treasured gift. You figured T.O.P had trusted you to keep it to yourself so did not publish the photo online. Having it as yours alone to remember that moment and what came afterward made it more special anyway.
Despite his fame and work to attend to, the idol made some conversation and asked you not to disclose his presence. It turned out the afternoon booking for the farm was held by non-alpaca T.O.P to shoot some final scenes for a music video to be released soon. That was impressive enough, but for three more men to come into view greeting Seunghyun in Korean made your heart nearly stop. The rest of BIGBANG was on location too, despite it being T.O.P's solo comeback. You suspected the namesake alpaca was not to be the only cameo in the video. In what was an international gesture for silence, Seunghyun put a finger to his lips as you and your brother nodded. Eventually it would make the news sites that all the men from the group were in Italy at the same time but it would not be coming from either of you.
Taking out his own phone Seunghyun asked you to return the favor and take a group picture for him. Taeyang's wedding ring flashed in the bright Italian midday sun as he slung an arm around his teammate's shoulder. Daesung closed in on Seunghyun's other side and G-Dragon completed the group with a hand curved at Daesung's waist which the other then comfortably mirrored. Their smiles were brilliant and you realized you would never get over the opportunity you had been given today. The alpaca handlers nearby seemed nonchalant so probably were not yet fans of the global idols before them. It was probably for the best not to have the video interrupted by fannish devotion from the farm staff.
You nearly fainted when each of the members shook your hand in thanks before waving goodbye. It was not like you to swoon but these guys were special to you in a way no other performers matched. Jiyong even complimented you on the vibrant watercolor style tattoo he spotted on your forearm. In so many ways, this was the best day of your life. Your brother was never going to let you live the magnitude of this birthday present down, even if what had made it such a standout had been completely out of his control. Really all he could claim credit for was the journey to Italy for a vacation, which was pretty impressive, and getting you to the alpaca breeders at closing time with almost no chance of getting in to meet the animal named after T.O.P.
Several weeks later your brother called you far too early in the morning excitedly asking if you had seen the new music video yet. He was understanding when your response was only a gasp, then hanging up on him to instantly. Autoplay kicked in as you searched T.O.P's channel for the latest content and you enlarged the window with anticipation. The farm only played a small part in the settings depicted but there were a few humorous scenes of the rest of BIGBANG doing things with TOP the alpaca as if he was their group mate instead. What really got you though came after the end credits scene with bloopers and the men goofing off. Seunghyun's solo comeback closed on a still photo, the very one you had taken, and the handwritten caption “friends forever.”
You were ready to die with happiness on the spot and fell back onto your pillow. Immediately calling your brother back he shared another bit of news. “Did you see the credits?”
“It went by so fast, and I was focused on the guys, of course,” you gushed while getting out of bed.
The smirk in his voice was audible. “Look again when you have the chance. While you were shaking hands Seunghyun asked me for your name.”
Sinking onto the mattress again before your legs gave out, you went back to YouTube and slowed down the scroll of names at the end. There you were, listed as “Photo credit” right before “Special thanks to TOP and all the other residents and staff at Piani degli Alpaca.”

BZ Boys they give you their coat uwu
Taewoong: “that was a lovely dinner Taewoong.” You spoke softly as the two of you walked hand in hand down the street. Passing all the shops and streetlights while other people were out as well. You shivered a bit feeling the night chill go through you. Taewoong stopped walking. “You should’ve dressed warmer love.” He said taking his jacket off. You blushed as he wrapped his jacket around your shoulders and held you closer to him. His lips gently kissed your cheek causing you to giggle. “I just wanted to look cute for you. Didn’t think it’d be so cold. Thank you Taewoong.”
Tumblr media
Bon: “this restaurant is so beautiful.” You gasped at the high ceilings and all the light fixtures that made this feel like some place in Paris. The soft glow that reflected off the walls made the atmosphere very calming and you were in awe. “They have excellent taste here babe. The food is delicious.” Wonho said taking off his jacket. It was date night and he was dressed in an all black suit to match your dress. Taking off his peacoat he placed it over your legs before sitting himself at the other end of the table. “Thank you Wonho you’re such a gentlemen.” You said smiling warmly at him. He smiled back and you two talked over the menu.
Tumblr media
Hamin: you sat in the backseat of the car while your boyfriend Hamin was out calling a tow truck. You could hear his voice go in and out as if he was pacing. You watched his figure in the window, his hands thrown up and his voice raise as if he was arguing with the person on the other end. You pulled you jacket tighter around you and then heard the back door open and Hamin quickly settled in next to you. He let out a frustrated sigh. “It’s going to be awhile before someone can come out here, especially with all the snow.” You gave him a small smile showing you understood and he took his jacket off and put it over you. “I’m just glad there was a blanket in the back. It’s very cold.” Hamin pulled you into him covering his legs with the blanket so you could share body heat. “Hang in there love. Someone will come for us.”
Tumblr media
Seunghyun: you and Seunghyun were walking down the street mostly window shopping, talking and laughing when a car sped down the road going through a puddle causing water to shoot up and splash all over you. Seunghyun tried to cover you in time but it was too late you were soaked. You could’ve laughed when Seunghyun joked that you looked like a wet rat but your day was ruined. “As you’ll be okay c’mon.” Seunghyun led you to an alley and took his jacket off holding it in front of you. “Take off your clothes.” You gasped, eyes wide. “Excuse me? Are you crazy?” Seunghyun smirked. “This is not the time to have dirty thoughts y/n. You don’t want to walk home in wet clothes do you? Take them off and wear my jacket, it’s long enough to cover you until we can get home and get you in some warm clothes. Come on silly hurry up.” You rolled your eyes and begun to laugh out of embarrassment.
Tumblr media
Double D: you were at a friends wedding with your boyfriend as a date. It was a spring wedding but it was still a bit chilly out. It was held outside and there was flowers of all colors and the decorations were so pretty and the sun was out and everything felt so springy. You and Donghwan sat towards the front, you shivered a bit as a cold wind blow around the area blowing some of the table cloths around. Donghwan noticed and draped his jacket over your shoulders fixing it to cover the exposed skin and pulled your hair out from under the jacket and laid it over the front of you. You smiled at him a gave him a quick kiss on the lips. “Thanks, I thought it would be a little warm out since the sun is out.”
Tumblr media
I wanted gifs but a lot of them are the members together and not separate gifs and the separate gifs I did find are..well extra lol. BUT I WANTED GIFS AND IF THEY GET PEOPLE TO READ MY THINGY THEN SO BE IT LOL. They’re so chaotic I found them like two years ago on the clock app and I didn’t know who they were until later. No but they’re all so very cute Taewoong is bofie and skskskkks ‘Close Your Eyes’ slaps both song and choreo I highly recommend :)
Thank you to @wh0sthe5pecial0ne for helping me with the last scenario thank you Emmie 💕💕 I actually wanted to write this after our Kyungho convo and I’ve been wanting to write for BZ Boys anyway so thank you for putting the bug in my head. Also also Taewoong has a lovely bottom ~

It's me, your favorite person! For the 35 fanfic questions: 5, 6, 7, 10, 16, 19, 23, 28, 31, 35
My love!!
5. What’s the fic you’re most proud of?
Currently published, it would probably be until it doesn't hurt. I've got one currently in the works (I think I'm about halfway done with it!) that I'm incredibly proud of.
6. What element of writing do you find comes easily?
Dialogue!! Dialogue is incredibly easy for me.
7. What element of writing do you struggle with most?
Consistency. It's one of the major things I edit for when I edit. Finding that consistent balance between character, setting, and dialogue.
10. What’s your favorite genre to write for?
Fantasy!!
16. Any guilty pleasure trope(s)?
So many. Miscommunication/lack of communication, cheating, plenty of dead dove-y tropes, doomed by the narrative, chosen one (and the immediate follow-up of refusal of the call).
19. Do you prefer canon-compliant, AUs, or something in-between?
It depends on the original material. I generally like things that steer closer to canon than AUs, but a good AU doesn't hurt.
23. Do you prefer prompts and challenges, or completely independent ideas?
I miss doing prompts and challenges!! I keep hoping to return to them more (side eyeing the bingo card in my inbox that I have barely touched).
28. How well do you handle criticism when it comes to your writing?
It depends on whether I've asked for it or not. Generally, I like receiving criticism and comments on my work if I ask for it. If it's someone I don't know in the comments? Fuck 'em.
31. Do you have any OCs? Tell us about them!
This could be it's own post LOL. I have so many. Breaking it down by project:
Prodigal Son: Choi Seunghyun, Choi Seungwan are the two who stick out in my head, but there's a full cast to that. It was a political thriller k-drama a friend and I came up with that lives in my head rent-fucking-free. Seunghyun is a politician and Seungwan is his teenage son.
Tookverse: it's literally an entire alternate world of idols I designed. It started as part of envious and ended up expanding to its own thing. I love these guys. I've got a soft spot for two of the 2nd generation groups, and one of the 4th generation groups.
35. Ramble about any fic-related thing you want!
Omg okay okay okay, so. I've been working on this fic hoping to get it out in time to rec it onto a rec list. It's currently around 10k, and the third member of a polycule has been mentioned (NOT BY NAME) and that's it. I think I'm probably about halfway done with it. A character I wasn't expecting showed up and created an actual plot to this story and now it's a lot more than just the 3-5k of pining I was expecting it to be. It's also a POV I haven't ever written before but I've been super enjoying it.

Adventures in Babysitting pt.5
Fandom: BIGBANG/ Choi Seung Hyun x reader
Synopsis: A babysitting job turns into something unexpected…
Warnings: If you’re new to this series, the first chapter does contain Seungri as it was written prior to his exit from the group. He will not be mentioned in other chapters. Also, this chapter gets heavily PG-13. I cheated and skipped the graphic bits.
Author’s Note: This chapter is dedicated to the lovely @noonachronicles who is apparently suffering with some writers block. Hopefully, this might help. <3
Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. This story contains fictional representations of real people. None of the events are true. This is from an American standpoint, so some of the situations may not happen the same way they might in Korea. I make no money from the writing of this fictional work.
Previous Chapters:   1    2    3    4
You were about to get up, afraid that you had possibly offended him, when Seunghyun took gentle hold of your shoulders firmly keeping you in place. And that’s when you felt it…. his lips pressing softly onto the side of your neck.
“I am very talented in many ways…” he asserted again, his breath ghosting across your heated skin.
You couldn't help but let out a choked little gasp when his lips touched your skin. You also had seemingly zero control over the way you automatically tilted your head back and to the side to expose your neck to him further.
Seunghyun's grip on your shoulders tightened.
“__________.” he murmured softly.
His voice was quiet and deep and it was as if it vibrated through to the very center of your chest. You squeezed your thighs together involuntarily, your brain temporarily stuttering for a moment.  His mouth was already on your neck again, peppering kisses down to your shoulder, his fingers came up to linger at the edge of your sleeveless blouse, your cardigan having been already discarded earlier when you returned to the hotel. You couldn't remember the last time you felt so affected by even just the faintest of kisses and touches. An almost painful fire was already pooling low in your abdomen.
“I want you.” Seunghyun told you, in that same low, silky tone.
You momentarily forgot how to breathe and your heart felt like it was about to burst.
His fingers slid up and down along your shirt strap, brushing the skin underneath. Head tucked into the crook of your neck, you could feel his breath sending tingles down your spine... each of his exhales like a pleasant little electric jolt to your system.
“Do you want me?” his fingers continued tracing the strap, though you noted (with a shiver of arousal) that he also slid it a few inches down toward your shoulder, pressing his lips to the vacated spot. Somehow you knew he was waiting for you to answer him.
You should have known a man like Seunghyun would make you say it out loud. It was both alluring and irritating at the same time.
“Yes...” you choked out finally, and had barely gotten the word out before he gently, but firmly, removed you from his lap with a soft push. Then, in one seemingly fluid movement, he stood from the sofa, grabbed you by the wrist & hauled you up to him, your bodies flush with one another.
“This doesn’t have to be this.” he said, face and voice serious. “You can back out at any time and we can go to our respective rooms... like nothing ever happened.”
You lifted onto your toes and pressed your hands to his chest, feeling the unexpected hard and lean muscle under his dress shirt. You moved your hands up to his shoulders as you pressed your body against his. As your heart pounded in your chest, you felt his hands move to your waist, pulling you tighter against him. He leaned in, and as his nose brushed yours, you closed the gap as an answer.
His lips were criminally soft as they molded against yours. You kissed him harder as you cupped his jaw, feeling a clean shaven face under your hands. He kissed with care, gently, as if he were as nervous as you were. Seunghyun took his time in exploring your lips before slowly trailing his tongue over your bottom lip. Your hands found his carefully styled hair and absolutely wrecked it & when you gently pulled at the tendrils, he kissed you with even more intensity.
Never had you been kissed like this, never had you been this affected by kissing alone. Seunghyun moved his kisses down your neck, grazing his teeth along the column of your throat. You held onto him tighter as a long, satisfied sigh escaped your mouth. His lips found your shoulder again, he groaned into it as he lifted you by your thighs & you wrapped your legs around his waist as he held you up by cupping his hands under your ass.
“Bedroom.” you managed to gasp as he found a particularly sensitive spot near your collarbone.
Seunghyun carried you across the living room and down the hallway, still messily kissing you as he went. When the two of you finally made it to his his room, you somehow managed to hit your head on the door frame as he attempted to get it open.
“Shit, sorry.” he said with a grin, setting you down gently.
You just laughed and rubbed the back of your head. “It’s okay.”
He opened the door and led you by the hand into the huge bedroom, kicking the door closed.
“Are you sure you're alright?”
“I’m fine.” you giggled.
Seunghyun dropped your hands, and pulled you in for yet another kiss, your mouths meeting with an almost punishing intensity. It took a minute before the two of you managed to find a rhythm, and then you felt like you were drowning in his scent, his warmth, and everything that was just him. He tasted faintly of the wine you'd both drunk, alongside notes of something else that was both uniquely his and far more intoxicating. He sucked your lower lip into his mouth and ran his tongue across it. You groaned, meeting his ferocity with your own.
You broke apart the kiss this time, and you both gasped, stopping to gaze at each other intently... his coffee-colored eyes meeting yours. Seunghyun brought his hand up around your chin, cupping your jaw lightly, as he moved his thumb across your lips, caressing them. He inhaled sharply as your lips parted and you took his thumb in your mouth and engulfed it... sucking hard and thoroughly, eyes never leaving his.
“Fuck.” he managed to bite out, his body jerking in surprise and sudden, furious need.
Feeling overwhelmed, Seunghyun pulled you against him and maneuvered the two of you so that your back was against the door. He moved to kiss the side of your neck, his hands drifting to graze your breasts through the fabric of your shirt.
“Seunghyun...” you moaned, your breath catching. “Please.” you didn't even realize that you were trembling with your own need. He paused, his forehead touching yours. When he didn’t return to kissing you after a moment, your eyes slowly opened. He was looking down at your face, eyes blazing.
Your heart fluttered.
And then he was kissing you again. It was rougher now. More frenzied. You reached up and gripped at his forearms as his tongue slid across yours again, mostly to steady yourself more than anything. If you let go of him it was entirely possible that your knees would give way and you would collapse. Or perhaps you would just melt into an aroused puddle right there on the hotel's ridiculously expensive floor.
There was now a painful throbbing sensation between your legs, especially when Seunghyun slid a hand down your side and to your waist.
“What is it? What do you need?” he asked breathlessly, peppering you with kisses as he made his way up to your ear, sucking at the lobe a little once he got there.
“More, please. I just... need more.” you begged again, your head falling back against the door.
His lips trailed over your jaw before hovering near your ear again, his fingers tightening on your hip.
“I can do more...”
He began to take purposeful steps backward, pulling you toward the bed. You stumbled in sync with his steps, still clinging to him, and you barely noticed when you fell onto the mattress.
For a moment, all was still.
Seungyun looked sinfully good. His trousers bunched tight around an obvious bulge, his shirt pulled across what you knew would be a chiseled abdomen. Even kneeling like this on the bed he was tall and sturdy, looming over you.
His chest moved rapidly as he took you in, eyes drifting along your body as if deciding what to do with you first.
You felt an electric thrill run up your spine while you waited for him to make up his mind.
He finally leaned in and pressed a kiss to your lips, surprisingly chaste as he dragged his hips away from yours with an agonizing slowness. You gasped against his mouth, threading your fingers through his hair, dragging your nails against his scalp, down his neck, and to his shoulders.
When he broke the kiss and looked at you again, you saw the glint in his eyes, the crinkle at the corners, and you knew that you were done for. A Choi Seunghyun smirk delivered by nothing more than a look told you everything that you needed to know about how he planned to have you...
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
You twisted under him, and the bliss hit like a freight train for the third time that night. You were floating in the ecstasy of your release, and it was only magnified when you felt Seungyun twitch as he met his own peak. He groaned, jerking his hips erratically as he came. His hands were hot on your skin and he held you close to him as you both rode out the last of the waves before going still, his body warm and heavy, but not unpleasantly so, on top of yours.
He collapsed on the bed next to you, clinging to you, and you to him, as he pressed tiny, winded kisses against your neck, your shoulder, your wrist. Every inch of you that his lips could reach without his body moving too much, they did. And your hands did the same, learning and cataloging every patch of his soft skin you could find.
“I’m never leaving this bed again.” Seunghyun announced, barely a whisper between kisses.
After a moment, he made his way up to your lips and kissed you until you could hardly breathe, his hands sweeping through your hair. When he finally backed off, he didn’t move far away. He reached out with lazy arms, pulling you into his chest, one of his hands still petting your hair.
Completely relaxed, completely exhausted, you let his steady breathing and his still rapidly beating heart lull you to sleep.
You awoke the next morning with an arm draped over your waist, nestled against Seungyun's chest, and to the sounds of his slow, steady breathing behind you. You were both also still very much naked.
‘Oh shit...’
It was time to think about all this, since thinking had gone straight out the window yesterday. From the moment Seungyun's lips had grazed your neck, all rational thought had completely stopped for you. Last night had been all about want and instinct... no pesky things like responsibilities involved.
Recognizing that it would be much easier to sort out your brain away from his presence, you wriggled experimentally in his grasp, testing just how easily you would be able to get away and to the shower without waking him. If you woke him, he’d open those dark brown eyes and give you that stare that seemed to melt you into mush, and your brain would probably be useless once again.
That thought was nothing short of terrifying. You prided herself on your brain. You needed it. Your career machinations that had led to your curating the Surrealist exhibit would not have been possible without your brain. And you'd never had someone else be so capable of easily switching it off, much less that someone be Choi Seunghyun.
Even more terrifying was that the way you currently felt about him certainly wasn’t just physical. You wouldn't go so far as to call it love, especially after just one night together. But, still... there was something there... just under the surface.
You continued to wriggle inch by inch, slightly more desperately now, but still carefully enough so as not to wake him.
There was a brief, heart-stopping moment where his breathing pattern changed and he shifted & you thought 'Well, so much for escaping to clear my head...', but then the slow, deep breaths returned and you successfully slid out from under the sheets. You hurried as quickly and quietly as you could to the en suite bathroom.
Once in the shower, you tried to let the hot water relax you. You let it soothe the tension in your shoulders and the soreness in your calves (the after-effects of having them wrapped tightly around Seunghyun's waist). And it did help relax your muscles, but your mind was still racing.
By the time the water began to run cold, you finally decided that you should probably tell Seunghyun about your burgeoning feelings. It wasn’t as though it was that great of a risk. You were approximately 98 percent certain that he reciprocated them, or at the very least, he was interested in you. But the nagging uncertainty was still there. For heaven's sake... you'd just met (and had sex) yesterday! And the thought that if you were wrong—and you weren't used to being wrong very often, but if you were—it could potentially make things very awkward for you in the art world for the foreseeable future.
Although... you reflected, it was probably already too late for that.
No, there was no real excuse. You had to tell him, but you would prefer to do it before his friends had the chance to figure out what had happened.

Monster
Rating: M
Warnings: stalking, obsessive/possessive behavior, unhealthy relationships
Synopsis: Son Hana (known by her stage name Astria) captures the attention of struggling artist Choi Seunghyun when she appears in his art supply store one rainy afternoon. Obsession is a scary thing. Choi Seunghyun just so happens to be scarier.
Tumblr media
He’s standing with his arms crossed. Leaning against the doorway as he watches her every move with narrowed eyes. She’s singing. She never sings. She hates her voice. What’s made today so different, so magical, that she’s twirling around in her apartment like a school girl after her crush says something as simple as hello in the hallway? Wait. A crush. Does she have a crush on someone? Someone who isn’t him? Someone he never factored into the equation?
I thought you were different, Seunghyun writes in his journal when he finally tears himself away from the tree under her apartment window. I thought you were special from that first moment you stepped inside my store. It was raining. Do you remember? I certainly do.
I woke up that morning with a sense of dread so deep in my core I didn’t even want to go downstairs and open the shop. That’s when I looked out my window. That’s when I saw you across the street, standing there with your umbrella. I remember it because your umbrella was bright red, a drop of blood in an ocean of dull colors. I remember it because it was the same umbrella dripping rain across the floor of my shop when I finally brought myself to unlock the front door.
I guess now is my opportunity to admit something, isn’t it? That moment, the moment I keep replaying in my head as the moment we met, wasn’t the first moment I saw you. No, I’ve been there since the beginning. Since you debuted with that awful company. You should really leave YG, by the way. They aren’t utilizing you properly, but I suppose that’s a conversation for another time. When we know each other better. When you realize I love you and just want what’s best for you. I’ve always wanted that for you. For us.
Every night I replay that meeting in my store. I remember thinking to myself: you’re beautiful. You’re so fucking beautiful. There’s no way around it anymore. I’ve always known we were meant to be, but now that you’re here, now that you’re in front of me, there’s no denying it. You’re eyes met mine, and even though it’s only for a second, I saw forever in them. I saw children’s names and a white picket fence. My muse. My love. I know you’ll see it too. It might take some time, but I’m a patient man. I can wait for you. I can do anything for you.
But…
Seeing you tonight made me worry.
Are you being loyal to our future?
To me?
Who is it making you smile and spin around your bedroom like a little girl? I know it isn’t me. We haven’t spoken since the day in my store. I gave you my number and told you to call or text if you needed help, and each time I’ve seen you since then you’ve been struggling. You need help. Call me. Why won’t you call? Just pick up the fucking-
Seunghyun huffs and scratches out the last paragraph the same way he wishes he could scratch any other man out of her life. They belong together. He knows it. The universe knows it. All he needs is for her to catch up. Calling is such a simple thing. Texting is even simpler. It takes little to no energy to pick up the phone and tap out a quick little hello. Why can’t she do that? It’s common courtesy and Seunghyun knows how polite she is. She reeks of Daddy’s Good Girl. Why hasn’t she contacted him?
As if the heavens are determined to play a cruel trick on him, Seunghyun’s phone goes off, sending him rolling off his couch in a rush to answer.
Hyung, the text says. Do you know Astria? The idol singer? She’s here asking for you.
Finally.
Fucking finally.
Seunghyun isn’t even thinking as he goes down the steps connecting his apartment to his shop. All that’s on his mind is her. Astria- no, Hana. She’s Astria to the rest of the world, but to him she’s simply Son Hana. The woman he was made to love. Seunghyun used to think his sole purpose on this planet was to create and share art, but now he knows better. She’s his purpose. Loving her. Treating her the way she needs to be treated. Worshiping her.
“Oh!” Astria puts a hand over her heart when she turns around and finds Seunghyun two steps behind her. When she laughs it’s delicate and guarded. “You scared me.”
“I’m sorry.” Seunghyun is sure to drop his voice slightly lower than his usual deep baritone. He read somewhere that women are attracted to deep voices. Something about the pitch of a man’s voice indicating if he’s genetically-
“I don’t think I’m doing this right. I might need to start over.” She knocks against the canvas in shame, her cheeks burning red.
He smiles, certain she knows she doesn’t need to start over and what she’s created isn’t half bad for a beginner. “No, you just need to keep going. I offer lessons on the weekend while my assistant watches the store. If you want we could-”
“Oh, I couldn’t do that to you. You’ve been so helpful already. I couldn’t put you through that kind of pain.”
“Still. Should you change your mind the classes start here at 11 am.”
You left after buying some more paint and couple more canvases. You didn’t get any gesso, so I hope you know what you’re doing. Abstract painting, maybe? A lot people don’t prime when they’re doing abstract work. Although, I think you really should anyway. It won’t hurt anything.
You see? These are the things I can help you with. If you’re really determined to pick up another hobby to make you feel better about how little you’re writing, you should at least know how to do it correctly. That is what you’re doing, isn’t it? You’re not writing as much as you used to so you’re searching for something to fill the void, to make you feel like you’re still an artist. And what’s more artsy than actually creating art with a brush and canvas?
I should take you to the Louvre. If anyone would appreciate that it would be you. I tried going with… well, with someone else. He didn’t appreciate it like I know you will.
Because you’re better.
Because you’re mine.

Little Dove
Sorry for it being so late but here is another request I received for my Halloween fun. I hope you all enjoy this one.
Tumblr media
Your father had always warned you to not go near that house. What was hiding up there?
Word count: 4241
Theme: Halloween, Vampire
Rating: Mature, SMUT
Pairing: Choi Seunghyun x Reader (F)
MASTER LIST
Sweat dripped down your face causing the hair to stick to you. Your heart was racing as ragged breaths escaped your lips causing your breath to be seen in the cold temperature. Huddled in the corner behind the piano in a dark dirty room, you were wishing you were anywhere but here. A loud crash sounded from outside the door, your hands shot to your face to silence the scream that wanted to be heard. You should have listened to your father’s warnings.
The number one rule that was engraved into your head since you were a wee lass, never under any circumstance was anyone to ever go near the house that sat upon the hill. Remembering how your older brother use to tell you stories late at night as the candle would die down, the fear that ran through your body was nothing compared to what you felt now.
You always listened to your father’s warnings, but as the years went by you got bold. Feeling that all the warnings give to you were a load of nonsense, you would get closer and closer to the house never really seeing anything inside or near it. Then one day your white and black naughty kitty had run off from the farm. You chased that naughty kitty right to the house, stopping just outside the front gate you bit on your bottom lip before closing your eyes and pushing the rusty gate open. A loud ear-piercing sound rang out as the steel gritted against the steel bars, the gate fought against the foreign feeling of being opened.
Slowly you moved forward, the soft crunch of the leaves below your feet was the only sound heard. You thought it was strange how the animals always avoided this place. Even those pesky crows who would bother anyone never flew near the house. The rats who sought shelter anywhere during the winter would not stay here. The grounds were not kept up, the grass had grown so tall that it brushed along your skirts, the weeds that mixed in with the grass scratched at your ankles. A tree in the far side of the property stood, split down the middle from what was probably a lightning strike.
Getting near the house you stopped to listen for any sounds from inside, a soft meow could be heard from inside the home. Walking up slowly you got right up to the window peering inside, the house was abandoned from what you could see. Dust seemed to have covered every inch of the house. Squinting your eyes, you looked around for that naughty cat and saw him rolling around in the dust right near a stair case. Shaking your head you move towards the door, there was nothing in that house to be afraid of after all.
Opening the door, you coughed as the dust in the entry way stirred up from the cold breeze that came with you. Pulling your cloak closer as you felt your body prickle all over with goosebumps. You wondered how it was colder inside the house then it was outside? The feeling of being watched also had you on alert but you tried to shake that feeling. It was foolish because there was clearly no one here. You move slowly through the entry and further into the house. To the left of the entrance stood an office, a large bookcase ran the length of the wall with an old worn-down desk sitting in front of it. To the left of the entrance stood a smaller room, most likely a tea room with the small sofas and chairs. Old pictures adorned the hallway, ripped and faded. The other rooms such as the sitting room and great hall were full of broken furniture and more ruined art work. The chairs in the rooms looked like nothing you had ever seen before, even with them worn down you could tell that the detail put into them was one of a kind. Clearly someone had spent many hours making them. You tried to imagine what the home looked like in the past, it must have been immaculate.
Finally, you reached the stairs but the naughty cat was nowhere to be seen. Luckily for the dust that covered every part of the home had also allowed the cat to leave a paw trail. Picking up your skirts you began to ascend the stair case following the little paws. The hallway upstairs had many doors, you kept following the trail as you passed the doors and peaked in. Large four poster beds with torn ragged bedding filled some of the rooms, while the rest of the rooms sat bare. Finally, the trail you had been following turned into a room. Pushing the door open all the way you entered and spotted your cat sitting on top of a bed.
“Seungri, you bad cat why did you make me chase you all the way here?” You say followed by a small laugh.
Walking up to the cat who had now stood up to stretch, you outstretch your hands and lift the cat up. Seungri purred as he rubbed his head into yours, a trick he always played when he knew he was in trouble.
“You can’t be running off like that you silly panda.” You respond falling for his trick. “Did that old Ji be mean to you again?” Seungri was always getting into little fights with your other cat but no matter what the two would be cuddled in front of the fire by the end of the night. “Come let us get home, father will have a fit if he finds out we were here.”
Just as you turn to leave the sound of the floor board creaking had you freezing in your place. Seungri also froze in your arms his ears perked up as he too was listening for movement. The air around you seemed to have gotten colder than it was before. Your hands were shaking as you heard the floor board creak again but further down the hallway then where you were. Slowly you moved from your spot as to not make a sound. Moving your head, you peek out into the hallway and see nothing. Stepping lightly, you moved into the hallway, the feeling of being watched was back again but stronger than before. Seungri moved in your arms climbing up your chest with his paws resting on your shoulder as he watched your back.
Suddenly a loud crash and an animalistic growl was heard from behind you. Seungri jumped off from your shoulder and hissed before scurrying down the hallway. “Traitor!” You shouted as you two picked up your skirts and ran down the hall. Thunderous steps could be heard from behind you. Picking up your pace you ran faster until you reached the stairs, you tried to be careful as you took the stairs down, the last thing you needed to do was tumble down to your death. Another growl could be heard but closer, you kept your face forward, afraid of what you would see if you turned around.
Finally reaching the bottom of the stairs you ran faster, your chest hurt with every breath you took. Had this hallway been this long? You thought to yourself, you felt as if you were running forever until you finally reached the sitting room and ran to the piano hiding behind it. With how strong the steps sounded you pictured a large beast chasing you, no man would be able to make those sounds. Closing your eyes you sent a silent prayer up, begging god to have mercy on you. That if he allowed you to escape that you would be a pious woman and would never go against the ruling of your father.
The sounds of soft taps of shoes tapping on the floor sounded, there was another person here.
“It seems a little dove has flown into my home. Where are you little dove? There is no need to be afraid little dove.”
The man spoke with the voice of nobility. He was calm and made your racing heart calm down. His voice was deep and warm, it was as if the way he spoke caressed your body trying to pull you from your hiding space. You shook your head, there was no way you would be leaving the safety of your hiding spot. Where was this man the whole time? How did he make those noises?
“Come come now little dove, I will not harm you.”
The man’s footsteps continued to get closer to you until they stopped right next to the piano. The sound of the piano benched being pulled back was heard before the piano came to life, how as this piano still in tune?
“Like I said little dove, I will not harm you. It seems you have come for you cat. I will help you find him, you just need come out from behind my piano.”
Even with your hand covering your mouth you knew he heard your gasp because a deep chuckle erupted from in front of the piano. With your hiding spot discovered you slowly stood to your feet. You kept your eyes trained to the ground and moved from behind the piano.
“Please sir, I am sorry for trespassing. I will take my leave immediately.”
You curtsy before moving to leave the room but suddenly run into something soft yet cold. Shocked you step back and gasp when you look up to find the mysterious man in front of you. How had he gotten here?
“Where are you going little dove? You can’t leave your cat here all alone.”
The man in front of you was by far the most handsome man you had ever seen. He was tall, you had to look up from where you stood to see his face. His eyes were a dark pool of brown that had gold flakes swimming in the them. His long raven hair was pushed back and barely touched his shoulders. A smile played at his lips, which brought your attention to his strong masculine jawline. His strong eyebrows were raised as he no doubt caught you checking him out.
“Shall we go in search of your cat little dove?”
“I could never trouble you sir, Seungri will come home when he needs to. Good day sir.”
Again, you move to leave but his hand shot out grabbing your wrist with his long fingers.
“It is getting late, you wouldn’t want your Seungri to be caught by some wild beast. It is no trouble at all to help you find him.”
Looking from your wrist to his eyes you were caught off guard again. The man had some kind of power in his stair. You could feel your cheeks heat up the longer you looked at him.
“Shall we?” The man asked as he took your hand and linked it with his arm.
“Who are you sir?” You asked as you found yourself unable to fight him and walked with him down the hall.
“My name is Seunghyun, I am just coming back to my family home after being gone for so many years.”
“I do apologize for entering your home without permission.”
“No need to apologize. Let us find that naughty kitty so that we may get you on your way home.”
The two of you walked up the stairs and back down the hall. Seunghyun opened every door and you peaked in not finding the cat until you came to the last door in the hall. Seunghyun opened it up and there in the grand bedroom was your cat snuggled up on a bed with another white cat. You walked into the room and right to the bed lifting your sleeping Seungri from the bed.
“I see he found my Daesung.”
“You have a cat as well.”
“Yes, Daesung has been with my family since I was little.”
“I am sorry for troubling you so much. I will be taking my leave now.”
“I would not be a gentleman if I didn’t make sure you made it home safely.”
You tried to decline his offer, but it was of no use. The man simply grabbed his hat and walking stick before opening the door to the house and followed you out. The walk back to your home was spent in silence. You still felt uncomfortable and foolish for having entered the man’s house without his consent. When you finally reached your home, he bowed and turned on his heel walking back into the woods.
When your father returned home from the fields with your brother he was informed that you had disappeared for the whole day. You received a tongue lashing from your father for having left your pregnant mother to do all the house chores on her own. You apologized to both your parents and promised to never do it again.
After cleaning up the dinner mess you warmed up your bath water before undressing and climbing into the tub. From the tub you looked out your open window, you had the perfect view of the house that sat on top of the hill. It was hard to see but you could see a small bit of glow coming from the house. You wondered why Seunghyun was staying alone in such a decapitated home such as that. Maybe he was just coming to take stock of it before selling it. But why had your father always warned you to never go near it? You had assumed the place was haunted with the way your brother spoke but that clearly wasn’t the case. You laughed at your silliness before washing your body and climbing out of the tub.
After slipping on your nightdress you climb into your bed and settle into your pillows. Seungri and Ji both jumped up on to your bed before they too settled entwined with one another. The sounds of their little cat snores helped lull you into a restful slumber.
The sounds of a piano playing awakened you from your slumber. Sitting up in your bed you looked around only to nice that you were not in your room anymore. You weren’t familiar with your surroundings, yet somehow you felt as if you had seen this room. The bed you laid in felt like it was a cloud, the linen being used were very high class. The fireplace in the room was lit, as you got off the bed you expected the room to be cold but it wasn’t it. The piano stopped playing as you walked around the room before a light tap at the door came. You ran back to the bed and hid under the covers before the door opened. How had you ended up here you asked yourself? The bed dipped as whoever entered the room sat down. A low chuckle was heard, you knew that chuckle. Pushing the blankets away from your face you saw Seunghyun looking down at you.
“Seunghyun?” You asked.
“Good evening little dove.”
“Where am I? How did I get here?”
“Don’t you recognize this room?”
“No.” You replied as you sat up in the bed.
“This is the room where we found your naughty kitty.”
You shook your head as you looked around the room, there was no way this was the room you were in just earlier in the day. This room was well kept and fresh. That room was falling apart and dirty.
“Is this a dream?” You ask.
“If it is a dream, then we should make the most of it.”
Before you had a chance to ask him what he meant, Seunghyun had dipped his head down to capture your lips. You were shocked at first and pulled away. Seunghyun smiled at you.
“Don’t worry little dove, it is only a dream.”
Seunghyun again dipped down to capture your lips and this time you didn’t pull away. His lips were soft, when he opened his mouth to deepen the kiss you tasted fresh strawberries on his tongue. The way he was kissing you was nothing like you imagined a kiss would be like. Your senses were heightened, you felt as if you were becoming drunk on his kiss. Seunghyun climbed onto the bed and hovered over you as you laid back into the bed. His hands moved over your night dress causing your nipples to pebble under his touch. He pulled away and looked down at your chest, the white fabric did nothing to hide your skin. He let out a hiss before he hurriedly attached his lips to your nipple. Your body arched off the bed as you felt a man’s lips and tongue on your sensitive nipple for the first time. You couldn’t help the moan that escaped you as you felt his hand caress its way up your leg until it was under your dress and teasing your lips.
Seunghyun detached himself from your nipple to briefly ask for your permission. You bit your lip and nodded your head before Seunghyun growled.
“You have no idea what you do to me when I see you bite your lip. I showed much restraint tonight as you bathed with your window open.”
As you opened your mouth to question him he silenced your unspoken words with his mouth as his fingers slipped up to your wet lips. Your tongues fought for dominance as his fingers played with your clit before slipping inside you. You had never felt something inside you, you had always expected this to feel uncomfortable, but it wasn’t. You moan into Seunghyun lips as your body began moving on its own rocking onto his fingers chasing something you weren’t sure of. Seunghyun again moved his lips down to your nipples and began sucking on them. A strange feeling began to build up in your stomach.
“Please.” You pleaded, for what you were unsure. You just knew you needed help reaching whatever feeling this was.
“You begging is the most angelic yet sinful thing I have ever heard in all my years.”
Seunghyun picked up his pace with his fingers and went deeper than before. The way he moved his fingers in a scissor motion inside you drove you crazy yet also helped you reach that unfamiliar feeling. Warmth spread out all over your body as you felt your walls clenching down on his fingers. Your body arched on the bed as you moaned out. When the feeling subsided, you watched as Seunghyun pulled his fingers out from inside you and licked them clean.
“You taste absolutely divine.”
You moved your arm to cover your face, embarrassed by the sounds you had made.
“Do not cover that face my little dove. The sounds you make are natural, it is your body enjoying itself.”
Seunghyun sat up puling you with him. He gathered the hem of your night dress before pulling it over your body. Your arms went to cover your naked flesh but he simply shook his head before pulling your arms to your side. You watched as he stood from the bed to undress before climbing back in. Your eyes danced over his body before landing on his hard firm member. You had never seen a penis before, you heard some of the girls in the village giggle as they talked about seeing a boys once as he bathed in the stream. Your body began to tremble as Seunghyun moved further down the bed before laying down with his head in between your legs. Before you could ask him what he was doing his mouth was upon your lady bits. His cold tongue was lapping up the juices that had seeped out from when the great feeling took over you. His tongue felt amazing on your hot skin. You couldn’t help but squirm around as he continued the onslaught on your nether regions. You felt that weird feeling building up again, but it was coming on stronger than before. Just as you were about to fall over that edge again Seunghyun pulled himself off you.
“Not yet princess, I want to feel you cum on my cock.”
You blushed at the words he used. You had never heard a man speak this way. Seunghyun climbed up your body capturing your lips with his, a sweet tangy taste mixed with the taste of strawberries danced on his tongue. Was this how you tasted you thought.
“This will hurt, there is no way around it.”
You nodded as he positioned himself at your entrance and you closed your eyes as he again captured your lips before thrusting into you. A sharp pain overtook the pleasure you were feeling, and tears pricked at your eyes. You knew this would be painful, but it was a natural pain. Seunghyun had stilled himself inside you as he waited for the pain to subside. When the pain was almost gone you bucked your hips letting him know he could move.
His thrusts were slow at first, he wanted you to get use to the feeling of him inside you. When they became longer and harder he had moved his kisses from your lips to your neck. You moaned out loud as you wrapped your legs around his waist. That feeling was returning, you wanted to feel it overtake your body again. Seunghyun moved his hands until each one had grasped your rear. When he lifted your bottom off the bed he was hitting a whole new level of deepness that was bringing forth that feeling. His thrusts quickened, as his own moans began to fill the room.
“Please Seunghyun, please let me feel that again.”
A low growl was heard as he moved his body so fast the bed was starting to rock. Just as the feeling began to wash over you, you felt a small bit of pain at your neck. The pain was replaced by an intense euphoric feeling. Your whole body tingled as warmth spread throughout. You screamed out in ecstasy as your hands clawed at his back no doubt leaving marks. Seunghyun’s movements became a spasm as you felt a warm liquid shoot up inside you.
When the feeling faded and Seunghyun stilled himself inside you opened your eyes. Seunghyun moved to sit up on his knees as he looked down at you. You mouth opened as a gasp escaped you. You covered your mouth as you watched Seunghyun lift his hand to capture the red liquid that was falling from his mouth. He stuck the finger in his mouth and sucked on it, his eyes rolled into the back of his head before he pulled his finger out.
“I can’t tell which tasted better, your sweet pussy nectar or your blood little dove.”
You move to scramble away from him, but he was quick to pounce on you.
“Now, now little dove you don’t need to be afraid. You just looked to delicious for me to not have a taste of you.”
“What are you?” You ask as you look into his once warm chocolate eyes that were now glowing red.
“I think you know what I am.” He replied.
“This is only a dream, this isn’t happening.”
Seunghyun laughed, “Yes this only a dream. Close your eyes little dove and go back to sleep. All will be well in the morning.”
Seunghyun lifted his hand running it over your eyes closing them. Your body felt heavy all of a sudden before the world went black.
The sound of your brother yelling your name had awoken you. You shot up in your bed clutching your chest as the dream from the night before ran through you head. Your hand went right to your neck where you felt a piece of ribbon around it. Getting up out of bed your rush to your mirror to untie the red ribbon. There in the mirror was the reflection of two puncture marks on your neck. What you also saw in the reflection on the window ledge was a single rose. Turning around you made your way to the window and noticed a piece of paper also accompanied the rose. Opening it you read,
My Dear little dove,
I want to thank you so much for the night before. I hope that it was everything a girl, no a woman dreams of for her first time. Do not be afraid my little dove, I would never hurt you. I simply only need to take a little bit to live. If you continue to provide for me, I will make sure that your family never goes without. You will also benefit from this as no man will ever be able to make you feel the way I can. You need only to leave your window open at night and I will know you have agreed. If not, close your window and I shall never bother you again.
Always yours,
Choi Seunghyun.
Sitting on your bed you can’t help but feel amazed at what was happening. Never in your wildest dreams did you imagine vampires were real, nor had you expected your first time to be with one. None the less you couldn’t help but feel a bit of excitement at the idea of being with him again. As you dressed for the day you knew that tonight you would be leaving your window open.

오늘 취하면//WINE
rating: teen and up
tags: fluff, valentines day
word count: 942
summary: how  suran "if i get drunk today" would sound like on valentine’s day on a beach
based off this version of wine by suran
Looking at him always felt like the first time you met, even after two years his kisses and smiles made you a squishy mess. You never told him that, but it was the truth, he could be drinking coffee not paying any attention to what was happening around him and you would blush after noticing you had been staring for too long at the little details on his face.
Valentine’s Day tended to be a day of surprises with Seunghyun, he loved planning what to do on this day of the year, but you could always be sure that the day would end with a glass of wine and whispers to your ears. He loved to whisper sweet things to your ear because it made you jump nine times out of ten. Seunghyun had his way with words.
You still remembered the first valentine’s day the two of you shared together, he closed an art gallery so you could see the pieces in display without anyone around, the paintings and pictures were the background to a dinner of your favorite food and wine. It was the first bottle you shared. It tasted bitter since you didn’t typically drink, but his kisses had the power to turn the bitterness into something almost too sweet to drink.
Every time you walked past that same gallery together he would tease you about the night you shared. He loved that memory and made sure to keep it fresh in your head too.
This year though he decided it was a good idea to blindfold and take you on a car trip to god knows where.
“You know you could at least let me see inside the car” You said trying to get comfortable on the car seat.
“That’s no fun; if I do that you will be able to guess where we are going” He laughs lightly while squeezing my leg playfully.
“I feel like I’m being kidnapped by a weirdo”
“Just a bit more and you will be free from your beautiful and sweet kidnapper” Seunghyun jokes and seems to turn the volume of the radio up.
You end up falling asleep until you hear one of the car doors closing loudly your hands immediately go to the blindfolds wanting to take them off but knowing that Seunghyun would be sad if you did that now. You could hear the faint sound of waves coming from outside making you even more anxious to see again.
The feeling of your door opening and the seatbelt being taken off almost knocks the air out of your lungs. Seunghyun takes your hand and helps you get out of the car and onto what seems to be sand.
“I can’t believe you.” You say even before he takes the blindfold off.
“What? You said you have always wanted to go to the beach” You can feel him smiling. His voice tended to become sweeter whenever he smiled, it was a slight change but you could always tell when it happened. After a few seconds, his hands reach the knot behind your head to take the blindfold off carefully.
The first thing you see is him, messy black hair, tanned skin and the most beautiful smile you have ever seen in your life, for a second you almost forget you are at the beach. His clothes are too nice to wear on the sand, but then again he tended to always overdress when you went on dates. Seunghyun once said it was because he just loved the look on your face when you see him wear a well-fitted shirt and pants.
He looked good in anything if you were being honest; you just never told him that so he wouldn’t feel like he was too hot.
“Wow.”
“I know I look good, honey” He smirks and you almost shove him away so you can take a look at the sea. The sunset made the waves seem like they were painted in tones of red, orange and pink. It was breathtaking. “You can now say I’m the best boyfriend ever”.
“I don’t know about that, but I really do love that you kidnapped me so we could come here” You hug him tightly giving his lips a little peck. He cannot stop smiling and neither can you.
“Help me take the stuff out of the car so we can have dinner and cuddle”
You nod. It takes you a couple of minutes to put the big towels Seunghyun had brought down and organize the things so he could open up the wine and lunch boxes full of food cut into hearts and other cute shapes.
“Did you make this?” You ask taking a piece of kimbap to taste it.
“Yeah, I’m not only a cute face; you know” He says while pouring some of the wine onto two cups and giving me one “It took me two weeks to learn how to make all of this”
“It’s really good” You smile and feed him one of the pieces of kimbap. He nods agreeing while chewing it carefully.
The bottle of wine is emptied fast. The stars are now fully visible in the night sky, he lies down taking you with him and his warmth takes your surroundings making you feel comfortable. He combs your hair with his fingers and kisses you softly on the forehead, cheeks and then lips. His lips taste like the wine he was sipping.
“I love you” Seunghyun whispers into your ears and carefully places his head on the nook of your neck. You feel drunk at that moment, his touches taking you to another place entirely.

Skiing wasn’t really your thing.
Like... at all.
You’d never actually tried it, but you were basically the opposite of athletic, and the idea of hurtling down a mountain -- a slippery, snowy mountain -- on two thin pieces of wood was just... not something that tempted you whatsoever.
The idea of sitting in a cozy cabin with a warm blanket and a roaring fire and a steaming mug of hot chocolate, however... that picture was infinitely more appealing. So, when two of your very best friends invited you to spend a few days in a ski chalet they’d rented with their boyfriend and girlfriend, respectively, you agreed to tag along (even though being a fifth wheel was also something that didn’t tempt you).
This year had been pretty rough for you personally, though, so a vacation in a wintry paradise would do wonders for your mental health. Plus, your friends and their significant others did like skiing, so you would most likely be alone for a good majority of the day, free to snuggle up on the couch and drink as much hot chocolate as your heart desired.
But then one of your best friends, Cindy, told you that her boyfriend, Jiyong, was bringing his best friend, Seunghyun, along.
So... yay because you wouldn’t be the only fifth wheel, but also yikes because Seunghyun was super scary and you didn’t like him.
Okay, no, that isn’t entirely true.
You were just incredibly intimidated by him and were too shy to ever talk to him directly because, as mentioned, he was super scary. He cut a pretty imposing figure, his resting facial expression was quite serious, and he had a really deep voice that was just...
Scary.
And you were almost completely positive that he hated you.
So, yeah. As soon as Cindy told you he was coming, you were extremely tempted to chicken out and stay home.
“Oh, come on,” Cindy urged as she opened her trunk and reached for your suitcase -- because, yes, she had waited that long to tell you about the sixth guest on this trip. No doubt she knew you would want to back out as soon as you heard Seunghyun would be there, so she had told you at the last possible minute to prevent you from doing just that. “He’ll probably just come skiing with us, so you’ll barely see him!”
“Cindy!” you whined, resisting the urge to stamp your foot like a petulant child. “He totally hates me! Does he even know I’m going to be there?!”
“Yes, I’m sure he does.”
“So, you don’t know for sure that he does,” you retorted.
“I’m sure Jiyong told him you were coming when he invited him!”
“But you weren’t there when he did?”
“Y/N, get in the car,” Cindy ordered with pursed lips and a tone of pure irritation. “You already said you were coming, you paid for your share of the cabin, I bought two boxes of your favorite hot chocolate -- you are getting in this car.”
While Cindy was definitely not as intimidating and scary as Seunghyun, her ‘I mean business’ tone was still scary enough to make you open the passenger-side door and slide into the seat with very little hesitation.
Cindy thanked you sweetly when she got into the driver’s seat next to you after stowing your bag in the trunk, and then she pulled away from your apartment to go and pick up Liah and her girlfriend, Renee. The four of you would be driving up to this cabin together while, apparently, Jiyong and Seunghyun would drive themselves and meet you there.
As soon as Cindy got out of the car at Liah and Renee’s house and closed her door behind her, you heard Liah’s muffled voice ask, “Did you tell her?”
You immediately glowered at them through your window, and when Renee got into the seat behind you, you turned around to look at her.
“Was that really the plan all along? To not tell me that he was coming until the last minute when I had no choice but to still go?”
A smirk tugged at Renee’s lips, and you knew the answer immediately.
It really had been the plan all along. Your two best friends were way more scheming and conniving than you would’ve guessed.
“It’ll be fine,” Renee insisted in that smooth, calming voice of hers -- the kind of voice that actually made you believe her when she said ‘it’ll be fine.’ “It’s not like you’ll have to share a room with him.”
Even though she was right in assuming you absolutely would not want to share a room with him, the fact that she said it made you feel like you were being annoyingly juvenile about this.
I mean, you were an adult! Seunghyun scared you, and you would never even consider calling him a friend, but you were mature enough to be able to share a room with him if you had to!
...But you were glad you didn’t have to.
Instead of replying to her, you simply let out a soft sigh and turned back around, waiting for your two best friends to join you in the car so you could get going.
“I’m very proud of you, Y/N,” Liah announced as soon as she took her spot in the back seat. “I was fully expecting you to stay home once you found out.”
“Oh, come on!” you scoffed, your brow furrowing deeply as you whipped your head around to frown at her. “You don’t think I’m mature enough to handle being a little uncomfortable?”
“It’s not that you’re too immature to handle it,” Liah replied. “I absolutely think you’re mature enough to handle it. You just won’t like it handling it. Hate it, in fact.”
...And, of course, she was correct. Just because you would share a room with Seunghyun if you had to didn’t mean you would like it.
But you wouldn’t have to, so there was really no need to even think about it.
Thankfully, after Liah’s remark, the subject of your willingness to be around Jiyong’s scary best friend wasn’t brought up again. The four of you, instead, discussed the meals you would cook for each other (it had already been agreed upon that a different person would be responsible for dinner each night, and there were several full grocery bags in Cindy’s trunk at the moment), played a round and a half of the Alphabet game, and engaged in a heaping handful of sing-alongs.
You unconsciously kept an eye on Cindy’s GPS the entire time, watching as the hours until your arrival turned into minutes.
Why were you so anxious? Why was your heart starting to beat just a little bit faster with every minute passed?
I mean, probably just because you hated being in awkward situations, and you knew it would absolutely be awkward when you first got to the cabin. Basically, the greeting between you and Seunghyun would determine what it would be like for the two of you during the entire trip.
If he, for some reason, decided to be polite -- or even civil -- when he first saw you, then maybe you would be able to spend the next several days in some state of relaxation. But if he ignored and avoided you -- which was the most likely option -- then you would probably be walking on eggshells the whole time. Peering around every corner to make sure he wasn’t already in the room. Waiting until he left the cabin before setting up camp on the sofa for the day.
...Maybe you should’ve insisted on staying home. Because none of that sounded at all pleasant, and if a vacation was supposed to be one thing, it was supposed to be pleasant. You should be able to enjoy yourself! But if it was going to be awkward around Scary Seunghyun all the time, you weren’t going to enjoy yourself!
Ugh.
But it was definitely too late to back out now. The GPS was calculating your arrival in less than five minutes, and the time to ask Cindy to turn around and drive you home had long since passed. (Though, she wouldn’t have done it anyway, even if you’d begged her or pretended you were getting sick.)
Your stomach flipped over itself as Cindy slowed the car and pulled up to a fairly large, incredibly nice cabin, and it flipped yet again when you saw Jiyong’s car already parked in the driveway.
“Oh, wow,” Renee marveled as the car rolled to a stop behind Jiyong’s and Cindy cut the engine. “This looks fancy.”
“Listen,” Cindy began, her tone playfully defensive. “It’s not every day you get to take a nice vacation with basically every person you love. I wanted to go all out! I wanted it to be special.”
Your brow wrinkled slightly as you unbuckled your seat belt and opened your door, the snow crunching under your foot as you stepped outside. “Are you sure I paid enough for this?”
Judging by the price, you’d figured she’d picked out a quaint little cabin with bedrooms the size of a closet. You hadn’t minded that notion, of course. As long as you had a warm blanket for snuggling and a lamp for reading, you didn’t care how big your room was.
But this definitely wasn’t a quaint little cabin. It was a very nice house disguised as a cabin.
“Yes, you did,” Cindy assured you, though you didn’t believe her in the slightest. “Don’t worry! You’re going to love it. You especially, Y/N, since you’ll spend most of your time here.”
You opened your mouth to issue a rebuttal, but Cindy cut you off.
“Which I am not judging you for!” she assured you. “I wouldn’t have invited you if I didn’t think you would have a good time!”
You simply pursed your lips and headed back toward the trunk to retrieve your suitcase.
Once the other three girls had unloaded their luggage from the car, you lingered, slowly closing the trunk and allowing Cindy, Liah, and Renee to go into the cabin ahead of you. There was absolutely no way you were going to be the first to walk in since you knew Jiyong -- and Seunghyun -- were already there.
It was going to be uncomfortable enough seeing him for the first time; you certainly weren’t going to do anything to add to it.
So, you brought up the rear, carrying your grocery bags and suitcase in through the door and gently closing it behind you as you heard Cindy call out for her boyfriend.
Once you got inside, though, your eyes widened at just how nice this place was, and you very briefly -- very briefly -- forgot that you were not looking forward to seeing Scary Seunghyun.
But then you heard Jiyong’s voice calling out to Cindy, and when you shifted your gaze down the front hallway... There he was.
Okay, so, one thing you hadn’t let yourself think about since Cindy had told you Seunghyun would be here was that... he was actually really super handsome.
Like magnetically attractive.
Which was probably another reason why he scared you.
He was almost too attractive, y’know? Too attractive for his own good, and absolutely too attractive for you to be any sort of comfortable around him.
You averted your gaze as soon as you saw him, feeling your cheeks flush a little and your stomach flip a lot.
“How was the drive?” Jiyong asked as he took Cindy’s suitcase.
“Very uneventful,” she answered. “If you don’t count the sing-alongs.”
Jiyong chuckled a little and said, “Yeah, I’ve never been in a car with four girls before, but I bet it’s never boring.”
He began to lead everyone upstairs where, presumably, the bedrooms were, so you pushed the handle of your suitcase down to carry it rather than wheel it.
Just as you leaned down to take the side handle, though, you felt a presence suddenly appear at your side.
A rather imposing presence.
“Here,” Seunghyun mumbled in his incredibly deep and smooth voice. “I got it.”
“Oh --” you choked, the word getting stuck in your throat. You quickly cleared it and managed to murmur a “Thanks.”
He gestured for you to go up the stairs first, and by now, the rest of the group was already halfway up the staircase, so you hastily tiptoed up to join them.
“The two empty rooms are this one here,” Jiyong told you, nodding to the door closest to the stairs. “And that one down at the end of the hall. This closest one has a bigger bed, so...”
You quickly cut in and said, “So, Liah and Renee can take that one, and I’ll take the one down there.”
You had no need for a bigger bed, and it really didn’t matter where your room was located, so obviously, you would let your friends have it.
Seunghyun headed down the hall with your suitcase, and you avoided looking at Cindy as you hurried after him -- though you were extra careful not to get too close behind him.
“You’re a nicer person than me,” he muttered once the two of you had entered your bedroom for the next couple days. “I would’ve taken the other room.”
You frowned, your forehead wrinkling with confusion and distaste. “But I don’t need a bigger bed. There’s two of them and only one of me, so why would I --”
Seunghyun turned to look at you them, his lips pulled into a devilishly handsome smirk. “I’m just teasing.”
“...Oh.”
A low chuckle escaped his lips as he hefted your suitcase up on the bench at the foot of your bed, and -- thankfully -- he then turned to leave.
“Thanks again,” you forced yourself to blurt out, surprised to hear that your voice didn’t sound as awkward as you felt.
“Sure,” he mumbled with a nod. “And if you need anything, I’m right across the hall.”
Your eyes widened a little, and your gaze darted through your open door to the closed one just opposite.
That was his room?
“I mean, I don’t know what I could possibly do that you can’t do yourself, but... Y’know. The sentiment still stands.”
You just nodded and let out a strangled hum.
Seunghyun chuckled again and left, closing your door behind him. Moments later, you heard the door across from you open and gently shut.
And then you deflated.
You just now realized how tense you’d been, though you really didn’t know why. Seunghyun had been very polite to you!
Nice, even!
And yet... there was still something about him that just...
You didn’t want to say he rubbed you the wrong way because that wasn’t entirely true.
He just...
He just...
He put you on edge for some reason. And it was probably because of the whole too attractive thing, but... I don’t know. He just scared you, okay?!
But seeing him and interacting with him for the first time on this trip hadn’t gone nearly as badly as you’d anticipated, so hopefully that meant you could enjoy your vacation with the least amount of awkwardness possible.
Hopefully.
Tumblr media
After the first evening and first full day of the trip, you realized just how dramatic you’d been about the Seunghyun situation.
It almost made you laugh now to think how you’d worried about it, imagining yourself tiptoeing around the cabin, peering around corners to make sure you wouldn’t be alone with him.
More than a bit ridiculous, really.
For one, it’s not like he was trying to make you feel awkward. He had no idea that you were so scared of and intimidated by him, and even if he did, he didn’t seem like the type to take advantage of it. He clearly didn’t mind teasing you, but you couldn’t imagine him purposely making you feel uncomfortable in his presence.
Plus, as Cindy has surmised, he had gone skiing with everyone else -- at least he had the first day, and according to the rest of the group, there was plenty to do around the resort.
So, you were pretty confident you’d get to spend the majority of your time here holed up in the cabin by yourself.
...You should’ve known better.
You had still been in bed when you’d heard the hustle and bustle of everyone leaving for another day on the slopes, and while you’d been slightly upset you hadn’t been down there to say good morning and good-bye to them, there hadn’t been anything you could do about it. You certainly weren’t going to run out in the snow in your pajamas just to see your friends off.
So, you’d simply splashed some water on your face and brushed your teeth in your en suite bathroom, stepped into your furry slippers and shuffled your way down to the kitchen for your usual morning cup of tea.
As soon as you turned the corner into the kitchen, though, you stopped suddenly, jumping a bit with startled surprise.
Seunghyun was sitting at the table eating a bowl of cereal.
But... hadn’t you already heard everyone leaving?
He glanced up at your arrival, nodding once to acknowledge your presence and then simply turning back to his breakfast.
You cleared your throat gently and slowly continued your route to the kitchen.
“I thought everyone left already?” you said in a quiet, timid voice.
“They did,” he mumbled in reply.
You pressed your lips together as you opened the cupboard to retrieve a mug, waiting for him to explain why he was still here.
But he didn’t.
Of course.
Why would he make things easier for you?
So, you quietly closed the cupboard door and asked, “You’re skipping today?”
“I don’t mind skiing,” he replied, and even though you weren’t looking at him, you could tell that he had shrugged while speaking. “But it’s not like I love it. And being a fifth wheel wasn’t the most fun, so... figured I’d stay here today.”
“Understandable,” you sighed. You could certainly relate to not wanting to be a fifth wheel. You loved your friends, and you were more than happy that they were both so happy in their relationships... but being around them all the time did tend to remind you that you were, in fact, single.
“What’d you do yesterday?” Seunghyun asked, and for some odd reason, his question made your spine tingle. Not in a creepy way, though. You weren’t sure what kind of way it was, but it wasn’t a creepy tingle.
“I just hung out here,” you shrugged, filling up the tea kettle with water before putting it on the stove to heat it up. “Did some reading. Took a walk. Drank some hot chocolate.”
Which brought you to a very curious question: What was Seunghyun going to do here?
But you didn’t have enough nerve at the moment to ask him. You hadn’t even had your first cup of caffeine yet!
“Is that what you normally do for fun?” he asked with a hint of amusement in his tone.
Even though, by now, you were used to people making fun of your more tame lifestyle, you still felt yourself getting defensive.
“Well, I don’t particularly find the idea of hurtling myself down a huge snowy mountain fun,” you retorted, busying yourself by opening the drawer next to the stove so you could pick out your tea bag.
“Well, no, me neither,” Seunghyun chuckled. “I would much prefer going to an art museum.”
Your brow furrowed instantly, but you resisted the urge to look over your shoulder at him.
“Really?” you asked.
“Yes, really,” he laughed. “Why do you sound so surprised?”
“Because I am, I guess. I didn’t know you liked art.”
“Is there anything you do know about me?”
...He had a point.
“Well, is there anything you know about me?”
“You like tea.”
You did turn around then, though you found your slight annoyance had turned into slight amusement and the corners of your lips pulled into a tiny grin. “That’s cheating.”
“Is not.”
“I’m making tea right now. Of course I like tea. That’s like if I said one thing I know about you is that you like cereal.”
“Well, that is one thing you know about me. I do like cereal.”
“But that’s just inferring something based on an observation!” you chuckled. “That’s not knowing something. It’s an educated guess.”
Seunghyun raised his eyebrows at you, and that stupid smirk showed up on his lips again. That same devilishly handsome smirk, and it made you feel very strange.
“You’re fun at parties, aren’t you?” he murmured.
“I don’t go to parties,” you countered.
Seunghyun simply laughed quietly, shaking his head to himself and turning back to his cereal.
The kitchen was silent as you finished up making your tea, but you were quite surprised to realize it wasn’t an awkward silence. It’s just that neither of you said anything. You weren’t waiting on tenterhooks for him to say or do something. You were simply... making your tea.
Just as you finished pouring the boiling water into your mug, you heard the scrape of a chair across the floor.
“I’ll leave you to it,” he said in a soft, low voice. “Enjoy your day.”
“Thanks,” you replied, watching as he walked over to put his spoon and empty bowl in the dishwasher. “You, too.”
And then he went back upstairs. To do what? You had no idea.
But at least now you were able to drink your tea in peace.
...Except, as you sat down on the sofa in the adjoining living room, cradling the steaming mug in your hands, you found you couldn’t stop wondering what he was going to do all day. Would he stay in the house? If he left the house, where would he go? Down to the lodge? Would he ask you to go with him? If he did ask you, would you go with him?
Obviously, you didn’t know the answers to any of these questions.
But you did know that Seunghyun wasn’t quite as scary as he seemed. And you were fairly sure he didn’t hate you. At the very least, he was simply indifferent -- but indifference is much better than hate.
Tumblr media
After spending the morning and early afternoon reading -- with a few breaks to sit outside on the cabin’s back porch to admire the scenery -- your stomach had let you know in no uncertain terms that it was getting to be lunchtime.
You set your book down on the coffee table in front of you, swung your legs over the side of the sofa, and stepped into your slippers. And as you shuffled your way over to the kitchen, you realized...
You hadn’t seen or heard from Seunghyun since breakfast.
You... had actually almost forgotten he hadn’t gone skiing with the rest of your group and was, presumably, still here.
If he’d left, he’d done it so stealthily that you hadn’t noticed.
Which honestly wouldn’t surprise you. He was definitely the type of person who could just all of a sudden be standing next to you and you had no idea how or when he got there.
In fact... you paused, in the middle of reaching for the refrigerator door, and carefully looked over your shoulder to see if maybe he had snuck up behind you.
But just as your gaze fell behind you, you heard the sound of soft, thudding footsteps coming down the stairs.
Phew.
You quickly opened the fridge and stared inside, though you were acutely aware of the fact he was walking toward the kitchen.
A few moments later, you heard his approaching footsteps pause, and your heart paused along with him.
“Oh, hey,” he greeted, his voice as low and deep as ever. “Lunchtime?”
You hummed positively, your heart stopping yet again when he came to stand beside you, leaning one hand against the door of the freezer right next to you.
“I... was just going to make a sandwich,” you said, hearing a slight nervous tremble in your voice. Why? You hadn’t a clue.
“What kind?”
“...Peanut butter and jelly?” you replied. “There’s literally nothing else except the food for dinner, so...”
“No, that sounds good, I’ll do that,” Seunghyun agreed, and he moved over to a cabinet to get out two plates.
...What was going on?
You... and Seunghyun... were going to... make PB&J sandwiches together?
I mean, at least he hadn’t asked you to make his for him. That was something -- definitely a credit to him.
But, still.
You never in your life would’ve thought you’d ever be standing next to Scary Seunghyun in a kitchen, making sandwiches for lunch.
But that’s exactly what you did.
You stood next to Scary Seunghyun in the kitchen, and you made a sandwich.
And then -- if you can believe it -- you ate it. Together. At the kitchen table.
It was basically silent the whole time, but in your opinion, that was better than awkward small talk.
But then, as soon as Seunghyun popped the last bite of his PB&J into his mouth, he pushed his chair away from the table and murmured, “All right, let’s do this.”
Your brow furrowed immediately.
...Do what?
“What?” you asked, your gaze following him as he headed back into the kitchen. “Do what?”
“I don’t know about you, but I need a drink,” Seunghyun replied as he began to search through the cabinets.
“A drink?” you asked with a chuckle of disbelief. “It’s not even one in the afternoon.”
He shrugged in response before letting out a soft aha and reaching in the cabinet he’d just opened, his hand returning with a bottle of wine.
He was actually doing it? Getting a drink? For real?
“I’m sorry, is my company that bad?” you asked, again, with a chuckle of disbelief.
Did he really have to drown out his discomfort from being around you with wine?
“No,” he answered, and the smirk in his voice was so apparent that he didn’t even need to turn around and show you he was actually smirking. “I just want a glass of wine. Or two. I’m on vacation!”
...Okay, well, when he put it that way.
If you couldn’t drink at one in the afternoon on vacation, when could you?
“You sure you don’t want some?”
You bit the inside of your cheek briefly before pushing your own chair away from the table and joining him in the kitchen.
“I will pass on your wine, but I am going to treat myself to...”
You trailed off as you reached around him and took out the bottle of peppermint vodka you’d brought.
“And you were judging me for drinking this early?” Seunghyun laughed. “I’m not the one breaking out the vodka!”
“It’s for peppermint hot chocolate!” you defended.
You weren’t typically one to drink hard liquor straight, but a couple of splashes of peppermint vodka in your hot chocolate? You wouldn’t say no!
“Okay, that’s a lot more believable,” he said as his amused grin transformed into a lopsided smile.
“Cindy got my favorite hot chocolate -- the absolute best kind there is. Do you... want to try?” you asked, trying your best to make it sound tempting.
Seunghyun’s forehead wrinkled as his gaze darted between his bottle of wine and your bottle of peppermint vodka.
“My hot chocolate is precious,” you added. “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I may never offer --”
“I’m in.”
He put his wine away and took the vodka from you, allowing you to retrieve two packets of hot chocolate and two mugs.
You were surprisingly... excited? And considering the thing you were excited about involved both Scary Seunghyun and consuming alcohol while the sun was still out, it was definitely surprising.
But, as you’d thought earlier, if you couldn’t do things like this on vacation then when could you?
After boiling some water, you artfully made two peppermint hot chocolates -- suitable for adults only, of course -- even opening the pack of candy peppermint sticks to use as both a stirrer and a garnish.
You and Seunghyun settled on the couch with your mugs, and as you curled your legs up and cozied up underneath a blanket, Seunghyun took his first sip.
You held your breath, waiting for his reaction.
There was absolutely no reason why you should want him to like the drink other than the fact that you had made it. But, still -- if he didn’t like it, it wouldn’t bother you in the least because you didn’t care about his opinion.
...Or so you told yourself.
Deep down, it had always slightly tormented you that you thought he hated you. Seunghyun was just one of those people who seemed so inherently cool without even trying, and the fact that he didn’t like you just... it was a little upsetting, okay? You would never admit it out loud, obviously, but it was upsetting!
On the outside, though, you still tried your hardest to give off the impression that you didn’t care about his opinion.
But when he raised his eyebrows and started nodding his head slowly, your heart did a little somersault inside your chest.
“Honestly, this isn’t half bad,” he murmured before taking another sip. “I’m not really a hot chocolate kinda guy, but... I would drink this again.”
You felt the corners of your lips tug up into a smile, but you did your best to suppress it so you wouldn’t let on just how happy and relieved you were that he liked it.
“I will take that as the highest of compliments,” you replied before lifting your mug to your lips and taking a sip yourself.
If someone had told you even just a couple of days ago that you would be willingly sitting on the couch with Seunghyun drinking your specialty peppermint hot chocolate... I mean, you definitely wouldn’t have believed them. And you certainly wouldn’t have believed them if they’d told you that you would’ve enjoyed yourself.
But... that’s exactly what happened.
The two of you sat on the couch together, drinking your specialty peppermint hot chocolate, talking about art and work and life... and you enjoyed yourself.
Seunghyun even opened one of his wine bottles after both of you had finished your hot chocolate, and although you weren’t one to have more than one drink at a time, you accepted.
He had been going on and on about how incredible his wine collection was, so you wanted to see what all the fuss was about!
Halfway through your glass, though, you knew it had been a mistake. You weren’t used to this much alcohol, and you’d always been a lightweight (hence the reason you usually didn’t have more than one drink at a time).
The thoughts that were crowding your brain began to make their way to your mouth.
Always a bad thing.
Always.
“Y’know,” you murmured as you gazed pensively at your glass. “I’ve always thought you hated me.”
“What?” Seunghyun replied with a low chuckle.
“But if you’re sharing your wine with me, that’s a good thing, right? You must not really hate me.”
When you shifted your gaze up and over to Seunghyun’s face, you saw his incredibly handsome features in an incredibly confused expression.
“Why did you think I hated you?” he asked quietly.
You shrugged. “Because. You never talked to me, and you’re so cool, and I’m so not. I just... thought you hated me.”
One corner of his lips tilted up into that smirk of his, and he said, “I always thought you hated me. You never talked to me, either, and you always acted like you didn’t even want to be in the same room as me.”
“Because I thought you hated me!” you laughed.
Seunghyun shook his head, and your heart began to beat just a little bit faster.
“I’m just...” you began, clearing your throat gently to get the words unstuck from your throat. “I’m just shy. And you’re very intimidating.”
“That’s funny because I was about to say the exact same thing.”
You jerked your head back in surprise. “Excuse me? I am the exact opposite of intimidating!”
“Now that I’m talking to you, I can see that,” he agreed. “But when you’re just standing or sitting somewhere quietly... I always thought twice about approaching you.”
“That’s probably just my Resting Bitch Face,” you nodded.
Seunghyun let out a low, deep laugh, and the sound of it made your stomach do flips.
“You... do kind of have Resting Bitch Face,” he agreed, though to his credit, he sounded guilty enough. “But... it’s still... a really nice face.”
You had just been about to take another sip of your wine, and you were now entirely glad you hadn’t. You absolutely would’ve choked and spit your wine out if you’d actually had the chance to take a drink.
...Because what on Earth had he just said?!
“I’m sorry, what?” you asked, your words slightly slurred and breathless.
“Your face,” he repeated. “Is really nice.”
You blinked at him.
For quite a long time, apparently, because Seunghyun let out a soft chuckle, and you jumped at the sudden sound.
“You’re beautiful, okay?” he said with a smirk. “You’re beautiful, and the only reason I came on this trip is because I knew you would be here.”
Your mouth fell open.
“I’ve wanted to get to know you for a while,” he continued. “But I always thought you hated me, so I figured this was the perfect chance to actually try and talk to you.”
Without really knowing what you were doing -- because the information you’d just learned was completely doing your head in, and you didn’t really know anything at the moment -- you leaned over and set your wine glass down on the coffee table. And then you turned to look at Seunghyun more directly.
“Are you serious?” you asked, narrowing your eyes a bit suspiciously at him.
He simply nodded and let out a positive hum.
“You... came on this trip because of me?”
He nodded again.
You frowned, the corners of your mouth curving downward deeply as you stared at him.
And then, after a few moments of silence, you felt the word vomit coming up.
There was no way you would’ve said any of this normally, but the alcohol currently in your system and the fact Seunghyun has just said all of that had, apparently, done wonders to ease your mind and loosen your lips.
“I always thought you hated me, and to be honest, I didn’t want to come when I heard you would be here because I thought you hated me. But, like, I’ve always known objectively that you were really attractive and good-looking, but you’re just so mysterious and scary. I even called you Scary Seunghyun because of how intimidating --”
Seunghyun leaned in -- so quickly you didn’t see it coming -- and cut you off by capturing your lips in a kiss.
Unsurprisingly, you let out a soft, startled squeal.
But... the kiss was already so magnetic and overwhelming that it didn’t take long for you to melt into it, accepting his lips against yours and returning his passion.
Your head began to spin, your heart was racing, your stomach had jumped up into your throat, and even though the kiss had been going on for less than ten seconds, you felt your lungs start to burn.
When Seunghyun pulled away, you let out a soft but deep exhale, and he chuckled quietly as he brought up a hand to tuck some hair behind your ear.
Despite the fact that you were feeling incredibly shy right now, you forced your gaze on him, looking him in his deep brown eyes.
“Did... that just happen?” you whispered.
He nodded, now cradling your cheek in his palm. “And it can happen again if you want.”
Oh, you absolutely did want.
But... your conscience was tapping on your shoulder. Incessantly.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea... We’ve been drinking, and --”
Seunghyun, again, cut you off. But this time with a laugh instead of a kiss.
“I’m not even close to being remotely tipsy,” he assured you. And then his lips morphed into a smirk. “Wait, are -- are you?”
“I’m a lightweight!” you retorted defensively.
Seunghyun leaned back a little, letting his hand fall from your face.
Your cheek felt cold now, and you almost immediately reached out to take his hand and put it back on there.
“I’m not drunk,” you added. “But I definitely probably wouldn’t have said any of that if I didn’t have some alcohol in me.”
“So, you’re saying if I had gotten you drunk earlier --”
“I’m not drunk!” you insisted, tamping down an amused grin. “But also... if you had just said something earlier, I may have... I can understand why you didn’t, though.”
“For the same reason you never said anything.”
“So... why now?” you asked, your voice just barely above a whisper as Seunghyun’s thumb gently caressed your cheek.
He searched your face for a moment before lifting his shoulders into a shrug. “Guess it was the alcohol.”
You rolled your eyes playfully... and then you leaned in for another kiss.
It was weird -- beyond weird -- to be kissing Seunghyun.
Scary Seunghyun. The guy you’d avoided for so long because you’d thought he’d hated you.
But as weird as it was... it was also nice.
Very, very nice.
“Does this mean you’re going to stay here with me every day? When everyone else goes skiing?” you asked, your lips still brushing over his as you spoke.
“That depends,” he murmured.
“On what?”
“Will you start making me lunch every day?”
“No.”
Seunghyun chuckled, his voice so soft and deep that it sent a tingle down your spine -- and this time, you could tell it was definitely a good tingle.
“Well, I’ll still stay with you. If you want me to,” he murmured.
And... you were kind of surprised but kind of not surprised that, despite all of your former misgivings and hesitation about him... you did want him to.
And that wasn’t the alcohol speaking.

=====
Most likely due to spending most of the previous day napping, I found myself waking up before dawn. I felt better. Somewhat. I wasn't about to hit the gym or run a marathon, but my headache had downgraded from migraine to vague annoyance, and my stomach was feeling just normal enough for me to feel like I was starving.
I shambled into the kitchen and started opening cabinets blindly.
"Go sit, I'll make breakfast."
I turned towards the sleep-roughened voice to see Jiyong making his way to the kitchen from the living room.
It was a version of him that I hadn't seen in weeks. Hair sticking up at odd angles, pajama pants wrinkled from sleep, and a smattering of tattoos on display under an unbuttoned matching top.
I had wondered before what the assorted letters stood for. Initials from exes? Family members? Artists? I was sure there were interviews somewhere that would answer the question, but I didn't particularly care enough to look them up. Or to ask about them.
"Did you sleep in the living room?"
He hummed his answer, nodding as he sleepily joined me in the kitchen.
Both of us having bare feet reminded me exactly how much taller I was than him.
He took advantage of it. Having reached my side, he looped his arms around my waist, shuffling to stand behind me. He laid his head against my neck, just barely tall enough to hook his chin on top of my shoulder.
"I wanted to be nearby if you needed anything."
I nodded, stretching my hand upwards to pull down "my" mug. The movement elongated my torso just enough that his chin slipped from its position.
"Let me help," he mumble-whined. His voice was muffled, and I felt his lips moving against the cloth of my own sleep shirt. "Go sit. I'll do this."
"I'm not crippled," I protested.
He seemed content, for the moment, to simply cling onto my back as I turned the kettle on and waited.
"Ji."
He hummed again, causing a vibration to run from my back to my chest.
"You're being clingy."
His hum this time was closer to another whine. Clearly, he didn't want to move. His hands dropped anyway, and he took a few steps backward to lean against the countertop opposite from where my tea was steeping.
"You should use the medicine one," he said, eyeing my mug.
I shrugged, "I'm okay now." Turning to mirror his own position, I lifted my mug and let the steam soothe over my face. "Besides, it tastes really fucking bad."
Jiyong watched me sip my tea. If not for the last month spent with the boys - and the assorted cameras - I would have been tempted to look away. But I was getting used to constant observation now.
I wasn't particularly aware of my expression at that moment, focusing more on not burning my tongue than governing my features. Whatever it was must have seemed bad to Jiyong though.
"I'm sorry," he mumbled looking down.
I felt my brows dip as I considered this.
"What for?"
"I shouldn't touch you that much yet," he kept his eyes cast down as he spoke. "I should have asked first."
He wasn't wrong. But I had just enough of that disoriented feeling from yesterday lingering that I couldn't find it in myself to care.
I opened my mouth, unsure of what to say. Should I forgive him? Tell him to do better in the future? I was so tired of the strange circles we kept drawing around each other. Why did we do that? We both kept to the edges of each other's personalities, as if the other would explode at any sudden movement.
I decided to light a fuse.
"Do you love me?"
I had expected him to jolt. To choke on air. To get nervous in some way because obviously he couldn't just admit it yet.
Jiyong jettisoned himself from the counter and stepped closer. The smile on his face was calm, almost serene. For some reason it unnerved me.
He lifted a hand to cup my cheek.
"I thought you had forgotten," he spoke in a voice that reminded me that the sun still hadn't risen. Not just quiet, but soft. Conspiratorial.
"Forgotten what?"
"All the blessings you could have," he leaned closer, head tilting to run his nose against my neck. "You just need to let me make everything perfect."
"Ji," I shivered, not knowing how to feel about the sensation of his skin on mine being so familiar.
"I love you more than any other."
His thumb slid upwards, running softly over my bottom lip. Anyone with an ounce of sense could tell where this was going.
I wedged my hand between us, pushing him away and out of my space.
"It's just a question Ji," I turned away from him, pretending to go through the cupboards again, "not a confession."
I heard a small huff behind me, but when he spoke up again he didn't sound angry or upset.
"Go sit," he was using that soft voice again, "I'll make breakfast."
=====
Seunghyun joined us just as Jiyong was placing a plate in front of me. It was a rolled omelet style thing, cut into bite sized circles somewhat reminiscent of gimbap.
"Oh, excuse me," Seunghyun's fingers dipped towards the plate, only to be met with a flat whack of the spatula that Jiyong still held.
"I didn't make that for you," Jiyong chided him. "Give me a couple minutes and I'll make you some too."
Seunghyun rolled his eyes, but retracted his hand. Taking a seat next to me, he pulled out his phone and started scrolling through what looked like emails. Every once in a while he'd swipe his way to another app to read some headline or other.
It was all very typical, down to the way his free hand seemed to oh so naturally find itself tucked over the curve of my leg. It rested just above where my knee bent outwards, forced into an odd angle by the fact that I was using my foot as a cushion. Every once in a while, his thumb would twitch and then smooth over the exposed skin.
Naturally. Normally. Without ado.
Jiyong cleared his throat.
Seunghyun and I both raised our heads - him from his screen, me from my plate.
Jiyong's eyes were trained on the angle of Seunghyun's arm, his hand itself hidden from Jiyong's sight by the edge of the breakfast bar.
"Ah," Seunghyun laughed, "that's right." He turned to face me, lifting his hand from my leg. It left a cold spot in its place - the absence of his body heat feeling stranger than its presence had.
"You're no longer mine."
He said it with that conniving smile that I was now so used to. I couldn't quite tell if he was teasing me or Jiyong.
"I never was," I responded with my own dry smile.
Jiyong barely muffled a laugh as he placed a plate in front of Seunghyun.
"You wound me, baby," Seunghyun whined, giving a dramatic show of pressing his hand to his chest.
I shook my head, returning my attention to my breakfast.
In my periphery, I saw Seunghyun lift the plate that Jiyong had set out for him. I felt, more than I saw, him stand up next to me.
Mouth full of egg, I couldn't speak when I felt his hand rest on the back of my neck. I let him tilt me towards him as he pressed his lips against my temple.
"I'll see you later," he took an extra moment to fix my hair, "my baby."
I didn't need to look up to know that Jiyong was frowning. I looked up anyway.
Jiyong glared daggers at Seunghyun as he left the room.
"Ji-yah," I called his attention back to me.
His sour expression remained when he looked back towards me. I decided that, for now at least, I didn't want to argue.
"What are we going to do today?"
His expression changed to one of surprise, before settling into a vague smile.
"Do you like boats?"
=====
Back in America, I had friends. Obviously. But I had a specific subset of friends who did a specific job that had specific… rules.
Sex workers. OF girlies. Discord Kittens. Sugar babies. Escorts. Whatever you wanted to call them, I had known a few.
Thus, I knew that one of the major rules was this: Do Not Get On The Boat.
However…
Chul looked a little green around the gills. I put a hand on his shoulder, patting it softly. I hoped it would be a comforting gesture, rather than making his seasickness worse.
He offered me a queasy smile, but didn't seem to trust his mouth to open without incident.
With all the staff around, I felt safe enough. Even if my biggest cheerleader so far was being betrayed by his own inner ear, I knew that Jiyong wasn't stupid. Not completely, anyway.
"What do you think?" Jiyong handed me a glass filled with ice, bubbles, and mint leaves.
Accepting the drink, I tried a sip while trying to think of what to say.
"Oh…" I grimaced at the bitterness, no doubt from the club soda.
"The boat is nice," I wiggled my glass slightly, "the mojito could use some more… something."
"I'll fix it."
He took the glass back and circled back around to the on deck bar. He poked around a bit, lifting bottles and smelling stoppers.
"So," I leaned on the bar like a patron in an actual establishment, "are we going somewhere specific? Or are we just having a day on a boat?"
"Well," Jiyong poured a bit of something into my drink and stirred it, "that's up to you."
He handed the glass over with a smile.
"Really?" I took it but held off on trying it again for now, "how so?"
"I had this big thing planned," Jiyong ducked under the bar, once again digging through bottles. "I was going to take you down to Jeju, rent a house for a few days."
He stood back up and started mixing a drink much darker than my own.
"But then we had our disagreement," he frowned, pausing his explanation to shake his drink vigorously. After a few seconds, he whacked the shaker against his palm to loosen it.
"It made me realize that I was perhaps being a bit much."
I hummed in agreement. He had been a bit much. More than a bit. He had dove in head first, without even checking what depth the water was.
"How does that lead us to today?"
He strained his drink into a rocks glass, and lifted it with a small smile.
"Well," he paused to taste the beverage he had just put so much effort into. Nodding with satisfaction, he joined me on the outside of the bar table.
He settled his glass on the table, and leaned into my space just a bit more than usual.
"I figured that the sea might still be relaxing for you. Clear air, no distractions," he gestured vaguely towards the water, "it's peaceful."
I scoffed slightly. He wasn't wrong, but he still had that self-congratulatory air about him.
Still… I had forgotten how fun our flirtations had been.
"You're losing the thread Ji."
I lifted my glass and tried it again. It was slightly better, though still noticeably bitter. The bitterness was somewhat hidden under the chlorophyll hints of mint now. I decided I could live with it.
"Right. Okay," Jiyong moved minutely closer, "here are the three options I've thought of - though feel free to add your own ideas."
I raised a brow, nodding for him to continue.
"We return to the house tonight."
"A safe option."
"Of course," he nodded, "and I'd understand completely if that's what you want to do."
"What else?" I pushed.
"We could stay on the boat tonight."
I tilted my head, not missing the way his eyes fell to my neck briefly.
"Could we really?"
That cock-sure smile fell back into place on his features.
"Of course we could. I can show you around the different quarters in a bit if you like."
"I'll take it into consideration," I nodded, "what's the third option?"
"We could spend the night in Jangbongdo."
I had a vague awareness of the island. At the very least, I recognized the name as being one of the islands near Incheon. Beyond that, I didn't know much else.
"Let's stay on the boat."
Jiyong smiled brightly. For a moment I thought he was going to lean in even closer, but instead he took a step back. Spinning on his heel, he did a full 360 until he was facing me again. He held a hand out towards me, waiting for me to take it.
"What?"
He waggled his hand, playfully egging me on.
"What?" I asked again. Lifting my glass to bring it with me, I stepped towards him. He took a half step back.
"Jiyah…"
"I said I'd show you the quarters," his smile widened, his cheeks nearly swallowing his eyes now, "didn't I?"
=====
Part of the tour included the on-deck hot tub, which naturally led to the both of us lounging in the water with the jets on and the heat set just high enough that the water wasn't chilled.
"You've been on boats before."
I let my head tilt to look at Jiyong, "hmm?"
"You do that thing," he seemed to be focusing on trying to create a miniature fountain using his hands as a tube, "one hand for yourself, one hand for the boat."
"Mm," I settled my head back again, closing my eyes against the rays of the sub. "One of my closest friends in high school was a fishing boy."
"Are you still friends?"
It sounded like a genuine question, for once. A question about a man that wasn't laced with jealousy.
I still prickled for a moment. Taking an extra second to relax, I reminded myself that - in this case - Jiyong truly didn't know the sore spot he was poking at.
"Well…"
"Ah," I felt his hand land on my knee under the water, "forget I asked."
I opened my eyes and sat up, tilting my head to give him a quizzical look.
"What do you mean?"
"You had that voice…" Jiyong shrugged, looking a little sheepish as he trailed off.
I squinted, shaking my head slightly to emphasize the questioning angle.
He took a deep breath, holding the tip of his tongue between his teeth.
"The voice that you use when you talk about something awful."
I hummed again. What was there to say to that? He was probably right.
I felt his hand again, this time on my arm.
"Unless talking about it helps," his eyes flicked between mine, "I just don't want to force you to talk about something that might be painful."
"It's not…" I cut myself off, thinking if it would true to say it wasn't painful. After a second, I knew the perfect qualifier. "It's not painful anymore."
Jiyong hummed, an understanding sort of noise, and slipped to a seat closer to my own.
"Would it help?"
Once again, some quiet part of my brain marveled at how naturally he closed the space between us.
"Would what help?"
I caught him. I clearly saw his eyes dip down to my lips once… twice…
He licked his own lips before speaking.
"Talking…"
Thrice.
"I don't want to force you to talk…"
Fource? Is that anything? A fourth time.
"But I don't want to force you to not talk either."
Ironic.
The word floated through my brain, but I didn't pay attention to it.
Instead I leaned just slightly forward.
The instant my lips touched his, he let himself go. For a moment, it was clear he didn't know what to do with himself. One hand circled around my wrist, the other started up towards my face but seemed to get lost.
I made the decision for him.
Pushing myself off of my seat, I planted myself in his lap. Taking his still lost hand, I pulled it to my waist.
Somehow, the most annoying thing was how quickly his hesitation disappeared. As if he had never doubted that we would end up back like this. Fucker.
His fingers danced up my back, gently pulling me closer to him. It had the, most likely unintentional, side effect of making me straighten up.
To say that he smiled up at me would not be incorrect, but there was something else. He was relaxed, in a way I hadn't seen for a while.
"My love," the words came out in a breathy sound, "I've missed you."
I blinked, feeling the telltale sting of tears prickling my waterline. This wasn't right. I knew that I didn't really like Jiyong, he just… knew how to get under my skin.
"I shouldn't have kissed you."
He frowned, looking hurt and confused. His hold on me tightened for a moment before he let his hands fall back down, into the water and down to just rest on my thighs.
I started glancing around, self conscious.
"Jagi," he groaned, "why are you crying? Who are you looking for?"
I pulled away from him, sliding back into my previous seat. I was so thankful that he didn't resist my retreat.
"Where's Chul?"
Jiyong's expression hardened for a split second before he shrugged, "I'm not sure."
I started pushing myself up, out of the water.
He moved towards me, obvious and slow.
"Do you really feel nothing for me, jagi?"
I froze, water lapping around my thighs.
"I can't talk about this right now."
=====
Someone had packed me an overnight bag. Obviously, the idea of sleeping away from the house hadn't been a complete surprise to the staff. It sat on the queen sized mattress of the quarters I had picked, right where I left it after fishing out my swimming suit just a few hours earlier.
If not for the vague sense of being off-balance and constantly shifting, the room was indiscernible from a mid-range room at a hotel. Well, save for the bed not being a king. I made my way to the shower, eager to rinse the scent of chlorine off of my skin and out of my hair.
I showered quickly, feeling some sort of embarrassment at using fresh water like this while on a boat. I knew the concern didn't really make sense, but it was there nonetheless.
Once finished, I dug through the little bag to find something to wear.
Thankfully, whoever had packed it knew a bit about being on the water. The sun was setting as I tugged a sweatshirt on.
=====
Returning above deck revealed Jiyong to be lounging on the water resistant cushions that lined an area I had mentally dubbed "the living room".
He wasn't exactly sprawled, but he was somehow taking up more space than seemed logical. He grinned easily when he spotted me, picking up an ashtray that I suspected was made of actual crystal so that I could sit down.
I took the offered seat, glad that - at least for now - the wind was sweeping the wisp of smoke away from me.
"You're like a cat with nicotine addiction."
Jiyong laid his cigarette to rest in the flashy ashtray. Turning his full attention towards me, he pulled both of my legs across his lap.
"Does it bother you?" His hands started carefully pressing into the flesh of my calves in an absent minded massage.
"No, you're okay."
One hand lifted, retrieving the tobacco from its perch. After a deep drag, he returned it to the tray so he could use both hands on my legs again.
"I'd quit if you asked me to," he murmured.
I watched him, propping my head up on one hand as I sat sideways on the couch-like structure.
"I wouldn't ask," I admitted, "I don't think quitting because of someone else works as well."
"Why's that?" He kept his attention on my legs as he spoke.
"Because it makes you feel bitter. 'I have to do this thing because of you' doesn't feel the same as 'I am doing this because I want to', you know?"
He hummed, hands slowly working their way from ankle to knee before switching to the other leg.
"You sound like you're speaking from experience."
My turn to hum.
His hands felt nice. Warm and smooth, applying a pleasant pressure. I slid back, letting myself stretch out on the slightly plastic feeling cushions to relax.
His hands paused, and I managed to catch a slight sound in his throat.
I pushed myself up, propping myself on my elbows to look at him.
"What?"
He shook his head, hands starting their work again.
"Tell me, Jiya," I pressed.
"Jagi…" he sighed, sounding like I was putting him through some sort of torture, "don't make me say it. I am only a man."
I tilted my head, brain working for a moment before it hit me.
"Gosh," I decided to tease him, "your hair must grow pretty fast."
Jiyong flashed a smile, his hands not so subtly moving higher on my legs.
"It grows faster when I spend time with you."
=====
Dinner was a thankfully simple affair. I had sort of grown accustomed to the background radiation of wealth with the boys around, but if the meal had been extravagant I knew I would have likely been forced into another surreal fugue state.
The meal was interrupted only when Jiyong asked if I felt alright. I admitted that a slight headache was building behind my eyes, so I asked if he happened to have any ibuprofen or anything with him. He nodded, and quickly slipped below-deck.
When he returned, he handed me two small pills.
After the food had been finished and cleared away, Jiyong and I found ourselves back in the open air lounging area. He disappeared once again. On his return, he greeted me with a steaming cup of deep red tea. It smelled spicy and sweet. Homey. I accepted it easily.
"I thought you'd be making cocktails again," I teased Jiyong lightly.
"You shouldn't drink if you're taking medications."
I nodded before tasting the tea. It tasted like masala chai, but lacked any sort of milk. It wasn't bad.
"I forget how much you look out for me." I placed the tea cup on the back ledge of the seat. Turning to face Jiyong a bit more directly, I tucked my legs underneath myself. "Am I fun to watch?"
Jiyong smiled into his cup, glancing up to meet my eye for a second before looking back down. He was being more shy than I had seen him before.
"I could watch you all day," he quietly answered. He fiddled with the cup in his hands, switching which fingers gripped the handle. "You're my favorite thing to watch."
A chuckle pushed itself out of me, causing a not at all flattering nasal sound to escape. I slapped a hand over my face.
"Cute."
I lowered my hand enough to glare at Jiyong.
"You sound like a stalker," I mumbled through my hand.
He laughed, shaking his head and leaning back.
"It's not like that," he protested, "it's not like I follow you. But if you are around, then I like watching you."
After composing myself, including retucking my legs and retrieving my tea, I decided to stay on topic.
"Is that why you always ask where I am?" I lifted the cup but paused before drinking to tack on, "it seems like that's always the first thing you ask me when you text or call."
Jiyong sighed, but didn't seem actually bothered by the conversation. If I had to guess, I'd say he might have been relieved to get a chance to explain himself.
"I just want to know if you're around," he started, "if you're in the house then I can just talk to you in person."
"What about when you call? When you know I'm out?" I pressed.
He licked his lips, tilting his head slightly before answering.
"I guess I'm just curious. I want to know everything about you all the time," he shrugged, as if that was enough of an excuse.
"But that's controlling, isn't it?"
"How so?" He put his coffee down, hands activating as he spoke, "I'm not telling you 'don't go there' or 'don't see that person', right? I just want to know that you're safe and happy," he shrugged, "no matter where you are."
That sounded awfully… reasonable. At least in comparison with what I had thought Jiyong's opinions were.
"There's still pressure though. If I…" I pursed my lips, trying to come up with a good example, "go out to lunch with Zico, right? You've told me you don't like him, so I have this feeling over me of 'Ah, this is going to be an argument later,' you know?"
"No no no no no," he shook his head and waved his hands, protesting with his whole body. "That's just how I feel about Zico. If it's someone else, I don't mind. And I already know that you don't care what I think. I couldn't be controlling with you even if I tried."
I squinted at him. The way he said "tried" instead of "wanted" rubbed me the wrong way, but I didn't think pointing that out would actually be productive at all.
"Okay, what if I was the type of person who would say, 'oh, oppa doesn't like you so I can't be friends with you'?" The discussion was beginning to feel silly to me, but I still pressed on. "Would you tell me to make up my own mind? Or would you be happy that I was just doing what you wanted?"
Jiyong blinked, mouth slightly agape. His brow dipped, then softened, then dipped again. I thought for sure he would start protesting, or at least pointing out that that wasn't how I am, so what did it matter?
"Is that why you pulled away?" His voice was smaller than I expected, "because you think I want to control you?"
A stone weight of guilt landed in my stomach, at the same time that a wave of softness came over me. Was I really sitting here projecting my fears on him? Had I been feeling so self righteous about it too?
"I…" I paused to think this out. I was pretty sure I had been onto something, but I didn't want to sound too accusatory. "I just want to know what sort of person you are."
He leaned forward, sliding closer. As smoothly as he always did, he managed to get both his and my cups placed out of the way so that he could take my hands into his. Earnesty was writ across his features.
"Jagiya," he shuffled forward a bit more, his knee now pressing up against my leg, "I like that I can't control you. I like that you make friends with everyone, even if I don't like them. I would never tell you to stop meeting with someone."
I was a little surprised by how swiftly the fire of argument had left me. Maybe it was the way he was looking at me, like an abandoned puppy that had followed its owner when they moved to another town. He was so cute. It was getting hard to feel anything but a sort of goofy happiness towards this somewhat sad mess of a man.
"But," I frowned, leaning back against the back of the sofa, "you get so jealous."
"I know jagi," he pouted. He moved to relax next to me, head in hand and elbow on the backrest so he could keep looking at me. "I really do. But that's for me to deal with. Seeing you live a life that makes you happy is the most important thing to me."
I tilted my head as I looked up at him. His eye dropped to my neck, then bobbed back upwards to my jaw, lips, and then eyes. Once our eyes met again I knew that he knew I had seen where his attention had been, but he didn't seem embarrassed at being caught.
"What if I'm happy with someone else?"
Against any possible prediction I could have made, he smiled before tilting in a bit closer.
"Then they've tricked you my love."
Something about that made me giggle. Maybe the magnitude of his self-assuredness. Perhaps the switch to English, as if that would make his point clearer. I didn't know. All I knew was that he was smiling at me as I fought through a fit of laughter.
"Jagiya," he softly called me back into the present.
I hummed, letting him know I was listening.
"Can I touch you?"
I pushed myself to sit up, no longer slouched under his gaze.
"What do you mean?"
He let himself fall deeper into the cushions, holding both arms out in the universal gesture of asking for a hug.
I laughed, only once this time, and situated myself into his arms.
Maybe I was being weak willed. Maybe I was giving in too easily. Maybe a lot of things. But I did like cuddling with Jiyong. I knew that he and I had similar styles in that way. The sort of just… existing while touching style. It was nice.
We laid there, on the thing that was somehow both sofa and structural support for the boat, for a while. I watched clouds slip over the stars and slice of moon above us. Jiyong seemed content with playing with the strings of my sweatshirt.
I felt good. Relaxed. In almost no time, I was drifting to sleep.
=====
"Come on jagiya."
I was pulled somewhat upright. I fought the tiredness that had settled over me, winning just enough to be able to stand.
I wobbled, suddenly remembering that I was on a boat.
"Here we go."
Jiyong looped an arm around my back, taking my hand in his to direct me below decks. Eventually the passage was too narrow, so he moved in front of me. He directed both of my hands onto his shoulders as he led me down the stairs.
"Careful."
My mouth felt gross. Dry and sticky. I let him lead me without answering his bits of direction.
"In here, right?"
He led me into the room I had chosen.
Directing me to sit on my bed, he nipped into the tiny bathroom for a moment. He returned with a cup of water. He placed it into my hands before kneeling down in front of me.
"Drink that for me, jagi."
I obeyed easily enough. My mouth did feel awful, and arguing for argument's sake wasn't really on my radar at that moment.
Jiyong was untying my shoes, loosening them up enough to slip them off. I couldn't help but be reminded of him doing the opposite.
"What are you going to do about Seungri?"
Jiyong froze, my second shoe half off of my foot.
After a second, he resumed his work. Once the shoe was off he sat back on his heels and looked up at me.
"What do you want me to do?"
He was gazing up at me with an intensity that I maybe should have been used to by now. I shrugged, casting my eyes down to where his fists were clenching onto the bedspread to either side of my legs. His knuckles shone white. I reached down and picked up one of his hands, carefully peeling his fingers away from his palm.
"I don't know," I admitted. "It can't be nothing. He'll hurt someone else."
I laced my fingers between his and tugged at him.
Jiyong knelt up, proximity propelling him to press his body between my legs. I pulled his arm around my waist.
It was, at least partially, the memory of what happened. I wanted to be comforted, and he was there.
Luckily, he took the hint and wrapped his free arm around me as well. He slouched, pressing his cheek against my chest and nodded.
"I'll make sure."
I combed my fingers through his hair, both of us silent for a moment.
"I'm sorry," I whispered.
Jiyong moved back slightly, looking up at me again.
"What?" His brow creased, and his eyes were wide. "Why should you be sorry?"
I shrugged, "for bringing it up."
His hands lifted from my body to cup my face. Thumbs smoothed over my cheeks as he shook his head.
"Jagiya, you should never be sorry for talking to me. Don't hide the things that trouble you from me," he stretched upwards, slightly pulling me to meet him. He pressed his lips against my forehead, before meeting my gaze again. "Okay?"
I nodded.
"As for Seungri… you'll neve-"
"Let's not talk about him now," I interrupted him.
Jiyong nodded, silently acquiescing as he would sometimes do.
I found that one of my hands had traveled from his hair to the collar of his shirt. Convenient.
Slipping forward on the mattress edge, I was aware of just how much he was aware of how close we were. I wasn't planning on exactly doing anything about that, but I still leaned closer and kissed him.
It felt nice. It usually did feel nice to kiss Jiyong. Just like it felt nice when he gently lifted my sweatshirt off of me. When he tucked his hands under my knees. When he lifted me and pushed me back further onto the bed. When he supported himself on his elbows over me. The press of his lips against my neck and shoulder was nice.
"Ji…"
He hummed, not pausing from kissing me.
"Let's try not to argue this week."
He shifted, moving to lay next to me instead of on me. Propping his head on his hand, he looked down at me.
"Is this your way of asking me to leave?"
I shook my head.
"You can stay," I lifted a hand to tap against his chest, "but this is about as far as this will go."
He smiled, tension that was barely noticeable before leaving his features. He worked one arm under me and layed fully on his back. Pulling me towards himself, his free arm tugged my own to lay across his body.
"That's fine jagi. I'm satisfied as long as you're satisfied."

Masterlist of stories with No Reader/Idol Romance
Not every K-pop fanfic reader is looking for a romantic insert story so I developed this guide to some of the other things I have written. Most are gender neutral with a few marked exceptions. To comply with Tumblr's guidelines, I have placed anything sexually suggestive under a Mature Community Label. They are mostly ATEEZ with a few BIGBANG stories and one Block B and BTS. The list will be updated whenever something new fits, with the latest addition marked with an asterisk.
Reader is present but not romantically involved:
