Woman's Hide and Seek Fail With Her Dog Caught on Camera: 'Cat Snitched'

A game of hide and seek involving a dog, a cat and their owner that went wrong has left the internet in stitches after she shared a video of the pets stomping all over her in the aftermath.

In the video, shared on TikTok on Saturday by the pets’ owner, under the username Cloeterare, her rottweiler appears to be excited to be playing a game of hide and seek, but as soon as she hides underneath a blanket, her cat comes out of nowhere and jumps on her, followed by the dog, and the game ends in laughter and chaos.

The viral clip comes with a caption that says: “I was just trying to have a nice innocent game of hide and seek with my dog…” And she also wrote: “This is why we can’t have nice things.”

According to WagWalking, dogs have abilities comparable to young children and that’s why they love games. Because hide and seek engages both the body and mind of your furbaby, they will have to exercise, think, and problem-solve in order to locate you, so the pack leader instinct breaks through once again, and it is only natural for them to go and find you.

Dogs will usually start the game using visual and voice cues. At some point, they will reverse their strategy and go back to their primal instinct, which is the scent. Some tips to teach your dog hide and seek include letting your dog see where you hide, talking to them excitedly while you go and hide behind a tree, bush, or piece of furniture; rewarding them for finding you, with praise and playing with a toy.

You can then make it harder, increasing the distance you hide from them, the complexity of the hiding spots, and not letting the dog see where you are hiding. You should also ignore your dog when he’s off track, and avoid punishing or interfering with them.

The post quickly attracted animal lovers from across the platform, receiving over 5.8 million views and 1.2 million likes.

One user, Princess, commented: “The cat turned into a bouncy ball.” And jcaps wrote: “Did the cat double stomp you?” CapricornFox added: “cat snitched on you ‘she’s here! she’s here!”

Another user, Totaredo, joked: “As soon as the cat showed up on the counter I knew it was gonna cause trouble.” And Moony said: “the cat is so confused! ‘WHY ATE THE PILLOWS SCREAMING AHHH”

RZ_RVTR said: “I’ve watched this like 5 times in a row already. I love the cat’s double bounce, like a trampoline.” And Lost Days Farm added: “LMFAOOO I’m not sure who was more shocked, you or the cat.” Changerine added: “low key cat tried to join in the game and regretted it instantly.”

Newsweek reached out to Cloeterare for comment. We couldn’t verify the details of the case.

MC and Photographs

One by one they fell.

A photo from their kindergarten days, missing teeth smiles and bunny ears galore. Middle school dance where they made a pact to wear tuxedos to stick it to the man on gender norms. Their camping trip down by Lake Perry, freezing but still smiling, all snuggled up by the fire and telling Moira to hurry up and take the damn picture. The day they frolicked, much to Ronnie’s changerine, through sunflower fields, only to run away seconds later because Iris saw a bee. The sleepover they had with five year old Laura, all wearing animal onesies because she threatened to cry if they didn’t and it was easier to do what she wanted.

The photo from last years homecoming dance, still smiling. It was the last photo Iris had captured of Ronnie’s smile. The last time Ronnie actively tried.... just tried.

Ronnie barely laughed now, her palms were almost always bandaged up, her hair always hidden under beanies, her arms covered by sweaters. She wasn’t sleeping, Iris could tell. Her coffee addiction increased to five cups a day and little to eat, her eyelids weeped from their lost slumber, and her posture hunched.

”No more pictures,” Ronnie snarled, swinging the box once more, the box full of smiles and memories.

Iris watched as the box dropped, so slow it almost seemed like hours passed instead of seconds, she listened as Ronnie stomped out the door and slammed it so hard some photos fluttered.

She couldn’t stop herself from picking up a photo delicately, internally worried that if she handled the picture wrong the memories would slip away, all of the smiles, alll of the laughter, just wither away.

THe photo was a lone shot of Ronnie lounging in a large tree with a beaming smile on her face, giving the camera a thumbs up as she basked in the peacefulness of the rustling leaves and wind on her face. She ran her finger over Ronnie’s figure, her heart aching.

”Whatever happened to my Ronnie-dear?” A whisper in the dark, a question unanswered.

Photos of a life once lived littered the floor as another life died with the memories.

Und ich gebe der Bloggerin & Life Changerin Laura Seiler Recht in ihrer Annahme, dass sich durch das aktive Vergeben und Verzeihen dein Leben ändern kann. Und daraus folgend auch das Leben der Anderen. Tatsächlich hat sich ab dem Moment, als ich bewusst verstanden hatte, dass zu vergeben Erlösung bedeutet, auch mein Leben nachhaltig verändert. Ich schätze, dass das vor so ca. vor 5 Jahren passierte. 2015. Selbstverständlich war das nicht immer angenehm, schließlich “musste” - weil intrinsisch motiviert - ich mein Verhalten verändern, Beziehungen brechen, mich neu justieren und viele (vermeintliche) Sicherheiten aufgeben.  Meine Vergebungsprozesse in meinem Familiensystem haben jenes gesprengt bzw. waren mitwirkend sprengend. Dadurch wurde viel unterschwelliges Leid ans Tageslicht geführt und alles wirklich alles komplett über’n Haufen geworfen. Bla bla, auf Anfrage erzähle dazu mehr.  Laura Seiler befasst sich jedoch nicht nur mit dem Vergeben, sondern mit allen anderen sehr interessanten Life-, Soul- und Brainhacks.
