Coincidence is a word that Malia has heard a lot in her life. It was supposedly a coincidence when she just happened to meet Isaac in Paris the day that she arrived there. She's sure that was actually Scott's doing, not the universe. It was also supposedly a coincidence that Derek was staying at the same hotel as her during her weekend stay in Washington. She's pretty sure that was also Scott's doing, but also just down to Derek wanting to keep an eye out for her despite the numerous times she's told him not to bother.

In her eyes, coincidences do not exist. No divine intervention from the universe, no fate or destiny or anything like that. Just people and their actions. But when she walks into a bar in the backside of Arizona and the first person she lays eyes on is not a stranger, she wonders. Just for a second, she wonders if maybe all that science-y, philosophical stuff isn't complete bullcrap and maybe, just maybe, the universe does have some power to make things happen.

Because it's weird that after six years of trying to figure out where Kira went on her own, she has finally stumbled upon her when she wasn't even looking. But now she is. She's looking -- she can't stop, in fact.

"Kira!" she calls out before she can stop herself, but why would she anyway? Someone gets in her way and she shoves them roughly to the side, her heart skipping in fear of losing sight of her again.

To her relief, she's still there. Sitting at the bar with a backpack at her feet. Her hair is shorter. It's all Malia can focus on because it doesn't fit with the picture she remembers. She's even dressed differently -- she can't quite put her finger on what it is, but something is different. Too much is different.

Then Kira turns around and the way she looks at her isn't different at all, and suddenly it feels like there's a chance that this was meant to happen. This is where she was supposed to find her, at this time. She has no idea why but that doesn't matter. All that matters is that she is looking at Kira, and she is looking back at her. Maybe it's a coincidence. Maybe there's some kind of plan, but Malia only cares about her own.

She walks forward, shouldering people out of her way without taking her eyes off of Kira. Kira slides off of the stool, takes a step towards her, then Malia is in front of her and taking her face between her hands, and she's kissing her.

When she pulls back, she isn't sure what comes next. This is as far as her plan went, truth be told.

"Hi," she breathes out. "I missed you."

Kira blinks her big eyes back at her. Then she grins. "Me too."

2. Well, a bit of both, but mostly I do plan ahead. I have to have at least a rough idea of what I want the chapter to look like and where I want it to end. I hate being directionless when working on a longer fic, which is why I outline the whole story then work out the chapters as I go.

5. I don’t think I do lol. I think I’m only okay with it if I asked for it. If someone dropped in to criticise my work outta nowhere I’d. Yeah. No.

18. Uhhhhh. Yes. I’ve done all three lmao. I either have the title before I’ve even started writing or I’m ready to post and still have no title, in which case I go to my playlist and hit shuffle until I find something I like and work well for the fic, which is why so many of my fics have lyrics as titles. Way too many.

45. Yes. I love breaking their hearts and I love making them laugh. I love when I get comments from people telling me my fic made them laugh, cry, or had any emotional reaction really. It’s the best. Though to be fair I think I broke their hearts more than I made them laugh. Oops.

my ideal aesthetic, hmmm......honestly that pastel girly girl shit. that was definitely The Dream Style for me since I was a kid. floofy dresses and long skirts and pastel sweaters and blouses and all that. and it's totally attainable - but also I like having comfy denim shorts and tank tops and sweatshirts :( but I can also probably get those in pastel colors so I'd still win.

Yup, I changed my url again!

I recently got a scam ask from the blog love for snickers asking for donations for their sick cat. The blog was only a few days old and consisted of nothing but reblogs and when you google the paypal that was linked it comes back as a scam, They sent me an ask saying to answer privately which made me suspicious.

Here is her series Wizarding History, Culture, And Random Shit (Like Laws And Stuff), As Told By Ronald Billius Weasley, Hogwarts Student. It doesn't have many entries, but it's fun enough!

I find it quite difficult to worldbuild for HP because JKR pretty much left us all the work. Bleh. Luckily other fanficers are here to pick up the slack.

Ron is never going to hear the end of this from the twins, he realises, with great despair. In his defence, Harry Potter should be dead.

I can't stress enough how great of a concept this is and how well-written this story is, especially how Harry is written.

Ron shows Harry that it's okay to seek comfort, to have someone hold you. He allows Harry the space to cry while showing him how much love can be found in another person's nonjudgmental support.

Beautiful story with the 5 + 1 prompt. (Just as a FYI, I still get notification for this story on the @harryronfest blog almost every day :)).

Treacle Treat by @orange-peony [E, Ron x Harry, 30k+]

Fred's funeral turns out to be quite lovely, Harry thinks, in spite of how heartbroken they all feel. Everyone says something nice or funny about Fred, trying to remember the good moments. Harry can’t get the words out, but Ron is by his side, the back of his hand pressed against Harry’s, his eyebrows scrunched up as he sobs quietly.

“Stay,” Ron whispers after dinner, when everyone gets ready for bed, pale faces looking empty and wiped out. “Don’t go back to Grimmauld Place. Stay here, Harry. Please…”

Harry nods, then follows Ron upstairs, to the room where they’ve spent countless summer evenings, chatting in bed with a laugh and a cheeky grin on their faces.

They lie in the dark in silence this time, and Harry feels so cold.

So much angst, so much smut, so much love. So much of peony's beautiful writing.

Usually, I recommend A Counterpoint to Working Lunches by RGF but this story made me laugh so much and I was absolutely delighted about the new ship name she came up with for Perciver.

This was written for the @romioneficfest 2021! As every story written for this lovely fest, cheesy's story warmed me from the inside out when I first read it.

She gave me another one of those tight-lipped smiles, and I realized that I desperately wanted to see what one of her real smiles looked like.
