heya, hope you're well! just wondering if you have any insight / ideas as to who Mitch might be playing as well as Neo with the new casting?

In addition to Zagreus, which he's now played a couple of times, and Neoptolemus, which he's just started, I have been informed he's been rehearsing at least one other new role. However I've gone back to check details and am alas sworn to secrecy, so really probably shouldn't even be saying this much. I definitely have one friend who's going to be EXTREMELY HAPPY when he starts playing this role tho 😘

I'm a little conflicted about how they reintroduced Theo to the show because on the one hand yay tradition (episode 7 is always Theo-heavy) and I kind of love that they have gotten so close over the span of a year.

But on the other hand that angst/slow burn loving little shit in me wanted to see the journey. I want to know how they got to this point. To Mabel not being half bad (though still far from fluent) in ASL. To Theo naturally helping her pack her boxes. To the two of them teasing each other and casually touching each other and sharing knowing glances. How did they get here and how many people know about it and also can we keep it forever and ever?

Also, I do feel like there could have been more Theo in episode 7 if they wanted to keep the tradition. Like I completely get that it's hard to connect Theo tightly to this season's plot and themes, but maybe something about forgiveness since she's friends with him and fighting with Charles and Oliver could've worked? I've heard talk about him staying on for at least one more episode, so if this episode was more of a reintroduction to him before becoming more of a regular presence I certainly won't mind.

Y’know, I’ve been thinking about the upcoming Frankenstein adaptation that Guillermo del Toro is going to make...and how people (myself included) were surprised that Andrew Garfield is in talks to play the Monster.  

I remember thinking what a weird choice that is...wouldn’t he be better as the Doctor?  But Oscar Isaac is in talks for that role.  It feels like these casting choices are backwards...but then I realized...maybe that’s the point. 

*side note, the idea of both of these men in a movie together makes me soooo happy*

I remembered GDT’s framework for making movies...particularly monster movies:  The Monster is never a monster.  They are almost always sympathetic.  The real villains in his monster movies are just....people.

In Pan’s Labyrinth, you think you need to be scared of the Faun or the Pale Man (which you do, but he’s not the antagonist), but you really need to be scared of the Fascist Capitan. 

In Crimson Peak, you think the ghosts are going to be scary, when in reality, they’re just trying to warn Edith, and you should be worried about Lucille.

In the Shape of Water, the Amphibian Man is a victim and Michael Shannon’s Strickland is the terrifying one.

So, these casting choices make a lot more sense to me after thinking about it...I wonder if he’s going to re-work the story to make Dr. Frankenstein the antagonist.  Not just a well-meaning scientist who went too far or even someone with a God Complex...but an actual villain.  Maybe there’ll be a bait and switch?  He starts as the hero and halfway through shifts to the villain.

And who better to make you sympathize with the Monster’s plight than Andrew Garfield?

*And yes, Boris Karloff’s creature is very sympathetic, but he was also terrifying for audiences in the 30′s.  I feel like in the hands of another actor, he could have just been a lumbering brute, but Karloff brought that humanity, which is what really makes that movie stand the test of time.*

Anyway...if this casting does happen, I’m actually 100% here for it, because I have a feeling that this movie is going to be pure horror gold (hopefully gothic horror, but I’m cool with any era).

*I’m also really curious what he’s going to do with Elizabeth’s character...it’d be interesting if they told the story from her point of view.*

Manifesting a Wandajericho and pietromonet double date for the first issue of SW&Q that results in a big fight between the twins over the plot instigating letter because it’s coming out Valentine’s Day and I want to see Jericho and Monet like 😬 and 🙄 respectively (also. Would be nice to see Jericho agin)

adsfkgl I don't think we're there with Pietro and Monet just yet, and I'm not sure if we know for certain that's where it's headed. However. That is quite the grouping of characters, and I would absolutely love to see them all in a room together.

Pietro and Wanda are both, like, "better" now, but they're also people who wear their baggage and idiosyncrasies on their sleeves, and they tend to get really activated around each other. Adding Monet's dry, often judgmental wit and Jericho's tendencies to psychoanalyze into the mix sounds like a lot of fun. And I should say that Monet being catty would really compliment Pietro, and Jericho being very cerebral and woo-woo obviously compliments Wanda, but getting the siblings together is where it would start to get messy, in a funny way.

I'm also very into the idea of almost the entire Maximoff family dating Black characters? Bc in my mind our communities are very 🤝 about a lot of stuff.

Are there any rumours about January/February cast change in London? Do you know if there will be a new Christine?

The only rumour I have heard (in relation to Christine) is that Paige will leaving.

Which would kind of make sense if she signed a 12 month contract as that is when her one will finish.

I believe everyone else signed a 12 month one from July but some could have signed 6 months.

The only other person I think could leave is Jon, unconfirmed and I don’t know what his contract was and since he started in April it makes it a bit more confusing.
