Thinking about the way that the Reggie’s abuse effected all of the Umbrellas. The way they grew into man-children with poor coping skills, undeveloped social skills, and completely unbalanced lifestyles. The way they all pretty much regressed into washed up child stars, escaped into coping mechanisms or repressed entirely. Vapid, depressed, petty and suspended in their shortcomings. The Hargreeves are adolescents.

All of them except Five.

According to Luther, even in their childhood Five “always thought he was better” than the others. If you ask me, it’s because of his self awareness. He was never looking for parental validation, or a normal childhood, he understood what he was to Reggie and seemingly accepted it. This is arguably how he was able to have a closer relationship with the shunned and exiled Vanya, as he understood the structure of power his father had created and was able to defy it without manipulation. This is also arguably why he and Reggie seemed to clash so much. His acceptance and cooperation wasn’t the same as Luther’s blind loyalty afterall. His self awareness made him hard to control. He was prideful, and independent. But then, one thing led to another, and he sustained the biggest humbling possibly imaginable.

One tiny fuck up, one little mistake, and he was forced to grow up. Fast. Exponentially fast. He buckled under the pressure of his new horribly fucked up life, and aged literally and figuratively well beyond his years. For better and for much much worse, he seized control over his life and survival. There were no shortcuts, only painstaking work and persistence, for decades. He is the adult. Only to finally, after an unspeakably long and painful journey, make it back to his siblings to save them from themselves.

And what does he get?

He ends up a fucking man child.

Hi, I was just wondering how Talon Dick would react to Jason getting tagged by either fear toxin or cuddle pollen? 🦉

Ah yes! We already had cuddle pollen in “language of birds”, so let’s go with fear toxin!

Okay so I think we can all agree it’s no surprise that what Dick would see if he got tagged… would be Jason either being turned into a talon like him or dying in a gruesome way (maybe even at Dick’s own hands).

But Jason? Well, it’s no secret that they’re… very codependent. But his fears would manifest as Dick leaving him. Abandoning him (for someone better).

Consequently he’d be a mess of begging Dick not to leave, that he’ll do better. Be better.

Dick would be panicking, trying to reassure Jason that he would never, ever leave him, aggressively cuddling and cooing at him.

Of course, none of it works. Jason isn’t actually seeing him, so at one point the image of Dick holding him would switch to someone else taking him away and Jason would turn downright feral trying to get away.

Dick is hurt, of course. But he knows Jason doesn’t mean it (right?) and so he would stay and allow every single hit to land (“it’s fine, talons heal fast”) until Bruce physically pulls him away to administer the antidote.

After many, many tears and hugs Jason would try to make Dick promise never to let him hit Dick again, even if it’s because of fear toxin. Dick neither agrees nor disagrees, which, in Dick language, is an adamant refusal.

Six Matoran touch the Toa stones at kini nui as they guard the Toa Mata's escape route from Mangaia and get WAY more than they bargained for.

Toa Kapura blinks and suddenly every Magnet on Mata Nui goes haywire.

Toa Macku yelling because suddenly everyone's thoughts are in her head all at once

Toa Tamaru secretly being relieved that she doesn't Immediately start flying, and then all the plants around her grow up to ten feet high and burst into bloom.

Toa Hafu laughs- but the joke stops being funny when his Carving tools get metalbent when he tries to activate his powers over stone.

Toa Taipu looks thoughtful as he picks up a rock, and then calmy watches it drift weightlessy into the sky like an untethered balloon.

Toa Kopeke is silent for a long time. Then, without a word, they zap a stray Infected Rahi with a lightning bolt.

Once Takua picks his jaw up off the ground, he probably says something like, "At least I'm still a normal Ta-Matoran, thank Mata Nui."

...No one lets him live that comment down after the whole Mask of Light incident.
