The blacksmith was busy setting small pieces for the commission that had brought him back to the stall of Mondstadt. Diligent and careful as his magnifying glass stayed at a good height over his work bench. The other smith who lent him the space to work always teased him about how meticulous he was about his work. But that was what set him apart from the other smiths of Teyvat. The extra care he put into those small finite details.

Unphased from working the smith hardly looked up from his work as he heard a familiar set of footsteps. "Bennett." He replies gently as he looked up for a moment seeing his guess was right. Their boots sounded a lot different than the others shoes who would come to stop and watch him work.

"Let me guess you need me to work on you sword again?" How many times was that just this week alone? "Set it on the table I'll get to it in a moment okay?"

3. What's the best thing about the show/series/books/comics/etc.?

the lore. i live for it: all the little details you can uncover through reading info on artifacts or weapons as well as the lore that is fed to you through the story. i am a big fan of extensive lore and getting to discover it little by little, so to me, that's the best thing about it

5. What's the best thing about the fandom?

the small corner i have found for myself with all these brilliant, creative people. i am allergic to fandoms as a whole bc they're a clusterfuck, usually, so carving out a nice space with the good people is comforting. i love reading all the hcs people come up with for these characters, all the little details they add that make the characters their own or expand on what we've been given in canon. the people i follow are all so creative and clever and i just. i love seeing it on the dash.

13. Are there any other characters from the franchise you'd like to play?

oh man. oh man. yes, absolutely, to the point where i have a space on my roster that's been reserved for someone for months and will remain there for probably at least another year and a half bc we likely won't get him in game until the s.nezhnaya addition

and i am always open to suggestions people make for characters they think i'd be good at bc....... i have 0 self-restraint when it comes to adding muses, as i've probably made very clear-

15. What are your thoughts on the canon ships for the character, if any?

i mean, there are no "canon" ships, of course (as much as i joke about wrio and n.euvi being married-) so i will replace 'canon' with 'fanon' in this instance bc i wanna talk about the two big ones-

by which i mean, w.rio.lette & w.rio.rinde. obviously, i ship both of these fiercely (though very specifically, for the latter) & i am absolutely weak for both relationships. there's just so much potential with both & i really hate the discourse i've seen in the past over which one is better. (classic example of people hating on a straight ship involving one half of the very popular m/m ship bc 'ew women', mostly, but i won't get into that now-)

17. Are there any ships you can't stand, why?

quick disclaimer to say this is not commenting on people who do ship this, this is just my personal tastes, but: wrio & l.yn.ey

now i am with the people who place l.yn.ey as a young adult at least (short male model =/= teenager, people, there are many adult characters with that model), so it has nothing to do with a perceived age, but simply that............ the fandom is Very Weird about it, and there is a rampant fetishisation of the ship that i cannot stand (largely due to l.yn.ey's design, of course)

also, personally, my wrio has put that very rigid distance between himself and the siblings in general - he calls them children in canon bc that's how he views them, bc he sees himself & his own lost siblings in them. regardless of how old they actually are, he's always going to have that perspective on them, so for me, the only relationship i can see him having with any of the trio is a found family kinda vibe

i don't judge anyone who does ship this (providing they also see l.yn.ey as an adult, of course) but it's just not for me

Hi! I would like to take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt gratitude towards @theoneandonii, @captivemuses , @chiselight and @narvvhal for being such wonderful, caring and sweet individuals. These few months have been really awful for me and they have been nothing but kind; showing up to check in on how I'm doing, to encourage, to offer distractions and just making sure I know that I matter. They didn't have to but they still took time out of their own hectic lives to reach out, it makes a lad emotional (in a good way). I am grateful to be able to call them my friends and evermore in awe of their creative brilliance as well as the light they bring into the community through their writing and their presence.

Thump. Swiftly, the book that Kaeya has been reading is closed. The story has entertained him thus far, keeping him company while the ginger diligently tended to his work, buried in their office.

Detective stories have always been one of his favorite genres. They are charming, though they can at times follow the same centuries-old formula. But if that formula works...? Well, who is Kaeya to judge? This book, in particular, happens to be one such case, where the protagonist solved the most bizarre, intricate, and creative of mysteries. A page-turner through and through.

Leisure time dedicated to reading is a rarity these days, but to be graced with his beloved's full attention is an even bigger luxury. Though they had silently agreed to terms and conditions regarding their mostly long-distance relationship, it was not always easy to be apart. Bearable, yes, for they made sure to express their affection for each other often, directly or through letters. But not easy. Never easy.

Now that Ajax has emerged from the room that has kept him captive all evening, Kaeya intends to seize the opportunity. He puts the book aside, azure gaze seeking another.

«I see that you've finished your workload for tonight. Good. I've been waiting for you». Earlier that day, Kaeya had casually mentioned his wish to discuss something important with Ajax. There had been no intention to alarm or preoccupy him. To Kaeya, however, it really was something important.

«It has been a while since we last had time to ourselves. Sadly, my plans for Valentine's could not come to fruition, which brings me to this: dinner's on me for tonight». Which translates to "You can relax now. Go take a bath, change, I'll handle things from here". With that, he gets up from the couch, making his way to Childe and offering a chaste peck on his cheek.

«How do we feel about Pelmeni for tonight?» Clearly, Kaeya had also been reading other type of books. More specifically, those regarding traditional Snezhnayan cuisine. The things people do for love.

It would be late when the letter was delivered to Zhongli's residence, but one from his lover was there for him to read.

Zhongli,

I know it's barely more than a week until I'm back in Liyue again but I still wanted to send you a short message before then. I've been back in Fontaine catching up on what was missed during my last visit, but you don't need to worry about another stint of me locked up. I've kept busy enough with work to both keep Her Majesty happy that the risk of me getting into trouble again there low, but I still have time to myself to find entertainmnt. Admittedly though, the knowledge that you would be unhappy about it is the only reason I haven't sought out the Iudex for a rematch while I'm still here, it'd have made the business trip a lot more interesting to try and convince him to agree to my proposition.

Anyway, I'll be leaving in five days time to make the journey back to Liyue, I'm not as concerned about winter weather in Sumeru to be an issue but Mondstat and Liyue are more likely to have inclement weather to slow down my arrival, so alloting the extra day to travel seemed wise. If I get there a day early I know neither of us will complain.

There was always much to look forward to as Lantern Rite was drawing near. The festivities were ever-changing with new generations introducing their own flair into long-standing tradition, and the people of Liyue were diligent each year in choosing a fallen hero of their home's history to honor with a beautifully constructed Mingxiao Lantern. There was never a dull moment for the nostalgic old god who reveled in seeing his people happy... but there was one thing in particular he most looked forward to himself.

A sigh would escape him as Zhongli finished the letter, wistful and longing despite his rascal's insistence on continuing to bring up wanting to fight the Hydro Dragon Sovereign. It had been too long since their last meeting, and Zhongli was feeling rather impatient for time to pass more quickly so that he could once again feel his lover's embrace. Luckily, it would be less than a week until he could have just that, repeating that fact to himself over and over in his head as he went to store the letter with the many others he kept in an ornate box inside his bedroom.

Soon. Very soon. So soon the time spent waiting could feel like little more than a blink of an eye to an immortal who has lived for many millennia... but it wouldn't hurt to try reaching Childe in his dreams tonight until then.

After a few more minutes of laying as they were, Childe rolled over so he was facing his lover and could wrap his own arms around the older man and stay just as close. The idea of Zhongli leaving sooner rather than later left an ache in his chest that had been there on more than one occasion in the past when separation again was imminent. Even if they both knew what they'd signed up for when entering into the long distance relationship, it never made it much easier being separated from the man who'd managed to capture the youngest Harbingers heart. The selfish desire to not see his lover go home for much longer was strong again.

Fingers trailed through the golden brown hair that was draped around Zhongli's shoulder, and trailed along his chest while eyes stayed focused on his eyes and his lips. The deliberation was there in the ocean blue eyes meeting the golden gaze locked just as firmly on him, and after Childe's hand finally came to rest on Zhongli's chest he finally spoke.

"I know that you staying in Snezhnaya was supposed to just be temporary, but how do you feel about the possibility of extending it awhile beyond that? Staying here until I'm sent out somewhere."

Despite being comfortable as is, he doesn't mind the new change in position. How could he when this meant being able to take in his significant other's countenance from this angle?

The consultant did not require encouraging to nestle closer against Childe and greet him with a content smile. In all the thousand centuries of his life, it is moments like these that are worth remembering.

With reunion comes joy and parting sorrow; he has lived through several cycles of such. Bittersweetness is a taste that lingers. And he has long since learned to appreciate it for what it is. Zhongli knows that he will have to depart for Liyue soon so as not to pose as an inconvenience to Childe's 'job'. He does not mind it, he is prepared for when it comes despite the yearning ache in his heart when the thought of departure comes along despite his best efforts to focus only on the present. How ironic that it is in this that he resembles humanity.

So when the harbinger asked for him to consider staying longer, the consultant paused. Realistically, how much 'longer' would that be? There is no definite answer to that for his schedule is very much determined by the Tsaritsa's need for him. Yet...if it is so...

Fingers wrapped around the hand upon his chest, raising it so he could bestow a tender kiss.

"I would be delighted to stay. For as long as you'll have me."

The smith stopped what he doing as he worked. Footsteps alerting of someone approaching the smith's work bench as he looks behind himself. What he wasn't expecting was to see a somewhat familiar face here in Fontaine. One of the members who worked at the Northland Bank.

Now this was interesting.

"Oh don't tell me that Estelle owes you guys money now?" There was too far a smug look on Hiccup's face. If this was the case he was holding it over the supposed blacksmith's face. He had long unplugged that disgusting machine she called a forge and brought materials of his own to use in its place while he was here. Commissioned to work as the usual Fontainian smith went on a vacation. Whatever she needed that for. If she was in trouble with the bank he hadn't really thought a vacation would be appropriate.

Perhaps it was a good thing Toothless had went down to get them both respective meals to eat. He had supplied him with money and a note to each place to bring it back.
