Akitsa is a black metal band from Montréal, Quebec. active since 1999 - to present day. They now only consist of two members, Pierre-Marc Tremblay and Uno Actu. In 1999 they released a small demo, titled “ Totale Servitude “, In 2002 they released their first album (my personal favourite) “Goétie” with some raw but ethereal tracks, rough instrumentals but small snippets of beautiful guitar riffs. I would personally say it was released in 2002 but on different websites it says different years, 2007, 2001.. So believe what you wish. You can find the band on bandcamp, spotify, Last.fm, apple music, youtube music, deezer and youtube.

I would recommend this band if you are new to black metal, it really got me into the scene. Try listening to “Les opposants Brûleront” on their Goétie album, great song.

Spectral Wound - A Diabolic Thirst

I love Spectral Wound so God damn much. They just perfectly replicate that classic Black Metal sound from the 90's and do so with added technical proficiency, musical complexity, and a total lack of fucking nazism. Low bar, but Black Metal fans know this is a hard one for some bands to hop above. Absolutely one of my favorite current bands, and a must listen to anyone who wants more modern black metal bands in their life.
