DoD1 x FFXIV

Drakengard 1 characters and what FFXIV jobs would suit them

Caim - Warrior. He loses himself into battle constantly, and feels a burning rage inside him, and draws power from that fury. Turns on his tank stance only if told to, he's a DPS at heart.

Angelus - Dark Knight. She is aiming for her own goals and justice, no matter the cost. Honestly, both Warrior and Dark Knight suit Caim and Angelus both, but I had to choose. Again, neither of them likes tanking, but they make a weirdly good pair of co-tanks.

Furiae - Red Mage. She's the Goddess Seal, so she has to constantly bear with pain and holding herself back. Red Mages came to be after white and black magic had drained the land dry, and mages had to think of a way to balance their magic use without being heavily persecuted and without putting on too much stress upon the nature. The whole world in DoD1 needs a Verraise, and with Furiae gone (depending on the ending), there's not really anyone who can do that.

Leonard - Scholar. Not only does he have a fairy companion (though the faeries in FFXIV are much kinder to their summoners...) he seems like someone who would be interested in healing and staying back. I can't really see him as a DPS job. Besides that, being a shield healer suits him better than the more passive pure healer, since he seems to want to avoid problems and hurt before it has the chance to happen instead of simply taking up the clean-up job.

Inuart - Bard, though that feels like a copout answer, considering the clear importance of his songs. Once he gives away his songs as a Pact price, I'm not quite sure which job suits him. Something in me says Gunbreaker, but I don't know how to justify it.

Arioch - Dragoon. She's bloodthirsty, and has gone off the deep end. Dragoons battle with the dragons all the while fighting off the call of their draconic blood, especially if they've drank the blood of a dragon. Dragoons literally dress in spiked armour so that if a dragon were to swallow them, the armour would tear the dragon from the inside. They're not messing around. And besides, they get up in their enemy's melee range, and Arioch would love to be in melee instead of staying back at a safe distance, away from all the gore and blood.

Seere - Dancer. He's the heart of the team, keeping the mood up (relatively up, considering the situation) and being in a supportive role rather than actively going out there. Though my heart wants to assign Summoner to him, just for the Titan-egi being somewhat similar to Golem. Besides, imagine what kind of an egi he would be able to summon after DoD1 would be over (if he doesn't die). What would an egi based on the Furiae creatures look like, or what kind of properties would a Queen-Beast egi have? And uh, how much mental damage would summoning them cause to everyone around him. There's that too.

Manah - Black Mage. The connection to the Watchers somewhat resembles the connection to Voidsent (which not all BLMs necessarily have, but black magic and its origins in Mhach are heavily connected to the Voidsent). Plus I'm taking inspiration from DoD2, where Manah uses magic and a staff.

favorite female character: Devola from NieR:Gestalt/NieR:Replicant! Firstly, I love redheads, she’s a redhead, and as much as I don’t like how they “prettified” many of the models in the remaster, she looks adorable. Secondly… I just love her personality. That spunky, carefree yet kind archetype is one I love and she is that to a T. Reading “The Red and the Black” novella, as tough as that was, really made me love her more than I already did. And she’s got a great design. Second place would probably be Manah from Drakengard 1, who is also probably my favorite character in all of the games. She is iconic.

Favorite male character? Caim. Caim Caim Caim. Also my favorite protagonist of the games. Even if in comparison to the other games’ protagonists he might not be as “deep”, he’s just… fun. Baby girl. And a monsterfucker. Don’t forget that. Plus, he got the best cutscene in all of the games in Drakengard 2. Holy shit. Secondly would be Emil, given he’s been my profile picture. Emil is the sweetest little guy and I would take him to a Dairy Queen.

Favorite Book/Season/Etc(in this case, game IG): Tie between NieR 2010 and Drakengard 1. NieR 2010 is my favorite game of all time, while Drakengard 1 is my favorite of the 5 Drakenier games EASILY. I’d give an explanation, but I’d need like five other posts to do that :P

Favorite Episode(in this case, a cutscene): THE FUCKING CUTSCENE IN DRAKENGARD 2 WHERE CAIM APPEARS OH MY FUCKING GOD. LITERALLY PEAK. IDC IF YOU ADORE DRAKENGARD 2 OR THINK ITS DOGSHIT IT IS CANONICAL IN MY HEART. THE WAY HE SUDDENLY APPEARS BEHIND THOSE KNIGHTS. THE SOUND EFFECTS WHEN HE STOMPS HIS FOOT AND OH MY GOOOOODDD THE SOUND DESIGN ON HIS SWORD??? THE FUCKING SOUND OF THAT???? HOOOOOOOOO

AND THE SHOT OF ALL THIS BLOOD GOING EVERYWHERE FROM WHEN HE KILLS THE KNIGHTS AND MANAH IS JUST STARING AT HIM…. -^]*]*\€]*\€|*]£]+\€|€]]<|£€|!|]>]€ it’s so good so good and the music they used was also amazing. Runner up is undeniably Kaine’s rant in NieR 2010. There is a fucking reason it opens Gestalt. Don’t even play the game, just watch that cutscene (in English) and you will be hit with impeccable atmosphere and voice acting.

Favorite Cast Member: Laura Bailey!! Her as Kaine floors me every time. I’ll also give props to the guy who voiced 9S because my godddd that was a startling performance. And Yoko Taro himself, for feeding my ADHD his stupid little games.

Favorite ship? As much as I don’t like Drakengard 3 nor Zero herself… Zero x Accord has won my heart. That’s probably just because Accord is very Homura coded but that’s ok. And of course, Angelus and Caim. Fuck Romeo and Juliet, I want what they have. (Dragon and Donkey coded)

A character I’d die defending? Uhhh since pretty much all of these characters are sucky people and the fandom is chill with it… I guess Lady One? Idk lol.

A character I just can’t sympathize with? Zero oh my god!!! I don’t like her. Sorry guys, I don’t like the lady who makes r*** jokes towards the men she takes after killing her sisters, no matter what “good reason” she has for doing so.

A character I grew to love? …Arioch. Fucking… Arioch. She is a horrible disgusting person… but she’s funny about it. Also Jackass from NieR:Automata, I’d go fishing with her!

My ANTI-OTP? Honestly, Kaine x Nier. No real reason why it’s just not my cup of tea lol.

You're in Drakengard 2 now? So what do you think of Nowe and CaimXAngelus being super canon?

I ended up liking Nowe a lot more than I thought I would, he is naive but pretty cute and a nice contrast to the other drakengard protagonists. and I really liked his relationship with Legna and the ‘surpassing the father’ theme in ending C. I’m pretty neutral on Caim x Angelus but I thought the scene of them dying together with the little montage was nice, even though they used Furiae’s song for it... rip.  i also made a little thread on twitter about my general thoughts on the game if you would like to read it

Caim X Angelus/Angel!

I have no idea what this is for anymore lol, but I was scrolling through my asks and figured I’d answer this (IDK how many years after it was sent... OOPS!)

But like CAIM AND ANGELUS ARE MY FRIGGIN’ OTP FOR DRAKENGARD OK???  LIKE HOLY SHIT I SHIPPED THOSE TWO SUUUUUUPER HARD MY BRO!  I still ship them now and OMG THE FEEEEELS!  I never thought I’d ship a human and a dragon romantically BUT HERE WE ARE!  And Drakengard 2 came along and FUCKED IT UP REALLY BAD (FUCK DRAKENGARD 2, SORRY) and yeah.  

Long story short, I don’t remember what this ask was for, but here’s a rant about how much I ship Caim and Angelus from Drakengard. :D (It’s also 2:30 am and I apologize for the all caps and potential incoherency lol.)

أبدعت شركة Square Enix بتقديمها Final Fantasy 7 Remake اللعبة الممتازة  والتي قدمت نقلة معتبرة بالرسوم مقارنة باللعبة الأصلية، هذا جعلنا متشوقين لمعرفة ما  هي مشاريع الريميك التالية على رادار سكوير انكس.

في بداية الشهر الحالي تم الكشف بأن فريق Forever سيطور مشاريع “Remake” لشركة سكوير انكس   بحيث يتم التركيز على تقديم الرؤية الأساسية لمطوري الألعاب في نسخ “Remake” بما يتضمن القصة وأسلوب اللعب، بينما ستكون الرسومات والتفاصيل البصرية هي وجه التغيير الوحيد. ويمتلك فريق Forever خبرةً كبيرة في تطوير ألعاب Remake وكانت آخر إصداراته الكبرى هي لعبة Panzer Dragon: Remake التي انطلقت على PS4 و Xbox One و Switch و PC و Stadia خلال العام المنقضي. كما من المزمع أن يصدر لعبة Panzer Dragoon II Zwei: Remake خلال العام الجاري.

طبعاً تمتلك شركة سكوير انكس مكتبة ألعاب كلاسيكية هائلة لذا هناك توقعات وتنبؤات كثيرة عن هوية المشروع المقبل وهنا لدينا أكثر الأسماء المتداولة بين الجمهور لألعاب عشقناها قبل سنوات عديدة:

  Parasite Eve

واحدة من الألعاب التي تعلقنا بها بالصغر والتي افتقدناها كثيراً هي لعبة Parasite Eve التي قدمت تجربة تحمل مزيجاً بين عناصر الرعب الياياني والتصويب والأربي جي بشكل فريد من نوعه، حتى أن البعض يصفها بأنه لا مثيل لها بالأسواق هذه الأيام.

 قصة اللعبة تدور حول شرطية تدعى Aya Brea تقوم بملاحقة امرأة تمتلك قدرات تمكنها من تحويل الناس إلى وحوش عبر التلاعب بحمضهم النووي، هذا ونذكر بأنه آخر جزء Parasite Eve حصلنا عليه كان The 3rd Birthday الذي صدر عام 2010 ومنذ ذلك الحين لم نسمع أي خبر عن جزء جديد من السلسلة. ونظراً لشعبية هذه اللعبة فإن الكثير يتمنون عودتها حتى لو بجزء ريميك وكان منتج Final Fantasy VII Remake قد انضم للاعبين ليعلن عن رغبته بعودة Parasite Eve من جديد.

Chrono Trigger

لعبة Chrono Trigger تعتبر واحدة من أفضل ألعاب تقمص الأدوار في التاريخ، حيث استطاعت سكوير سوفت في العام 1995 – على جهاز السوبر ننتيندو SNES- أن تحقق إنجاز لن ينساه لها تاريخ هذه الصناعة، و هو إصدار هذه اللعبة الرائعة جداً. وحصلت اللعبة على مر السنوات على عدة إصدارات سواء على بلايستيشن 1 ثم الـDS و الـiOS و الأندرويد.

هناك عدة عناصر صنعت مجد هذه اللعبة سواء القصة الساحرة بشخصياتها الرائعة Frog و Ayla و Roboالتي صحبتنا معها بمغامرة  عجيبة مع الزمن أو في عوالمها الغريبة التي عشناها فيها مثل عالم العصر الجواراسي و حتى المستقبل البعيد جداً. ومازاد بسحرها هو ألحان Yasunori Mitsuda  ووجود نظام قتال متقن مع فكرة مواجهة الزعيم الأخير في مرحلة مبكرة من اللعبة، و النهايات الكثيرة التي كانت تترب على أحداث اللعبة.

هذه اللعبة لن ينساها التاريخ بكل تأكيد وكانت منطلقا لسلسلة كرونو التي حصلنا منها على Chrono Cross التي حازت هي الأخرى على الإشادة من النقاد. ونظن بأن الآن حان الوقت لإعادتها مع الاستفادة من تقنيات الجيل الجديد لتقديم رسوم ومؤثرات بصرية عالية الجودة تنعش السلسلة. طبعاً سكوير انكس حاولت إنعاش اللعبة عبر طرحها على ستيم في 2018 لكن مع الآسف تلك النسخة لم تحظى بإقبال كبير حيث اضطرت Square Enix للخروج لتعلن أنها تعمل على “تقييم وتحديد” مشاكل Chrono Trigger على Steam حاليًا.

Drakengard

لعبة NieR: Automata تمكنت من تحقيق نجاح ملفت وجذبت لاعبين جدد لعنوان نيير وعرفها للجمهور الغربي، وهذا النجاح مهد الطريق لإصدار NieR Replicant  القادم. وبدأت اللعبة تثير اهتمام اللاعبين وتدفعهم للسؤال عن أصول هذا العنوان، فألعاب NieR هي بالحقيقة عنوان فرعي لسلسلة Drakengard التي صدرت أول مرة عام 2003 للبلايستيشن 2.

فقد جددت لعبة  NieR: Automata اهتمام اللاعبين بسلسلة  Drakengard حيث أرادوا أن يعرفوا كيف بدأت كل تلك الحكاية بالأساس لذا فإن هؤلاء سيكونون متحمسين للحصول على ريميك لتلك اللعبة حتى أن حماسهم دفعهم لطرح تساؤلات على مخرجها Yoko Taro عن إمكانية طرح مجموعة Drakengard التي تضم نسخ محسنة من ألعاب هذه السلسلة. الذي أجاب بالقول “سنعمل على ريماستر Drakengard بحال دفعت سكوير انكس تكاليفه”

تتميز اللعبة بأنها مزيج مكون من القتال الجوي، وقتال الهاك أند سلاش وعناصر لعب الأدوار. تدور أحداث القصة خلال حرب دينية بين فصيلين – الاتحاد والإمبراطورية – مع تحول الحرب لصالح الإمبراطورية. يتحكم اللاعب في Caim، أمير الاتحاد المخلوع، في سعيه للانتقام من الإمبراطورية. أصيب في المعركة بينما كان يحمي أخته Furiae، وأجبر على عقد اتفاق مع تنين أحمر اسمه Angelus. أثناء رحلتهم معًا، ينضمون إلى Hierarch Verdelet في محاولة لمنع الإمبراطورية من تدمير الأختام السحرية التي تحافظ على توازن العالم.

بالختام نذكر بأن سكوير انكس قد كشفت عن حدث Square Enix Presents الذي ستعقده في تاريخ ١٨ مارس الحالي وسيتم الحديث عن مستقبل سلسله العاب Life is Strange بالإضافة لمشاريع أخرى فمن يدري ربما يتم الكشف عن مشروع ريميك جديد بهذا الحدث، ننتظر أن تشاركونا بآرائكم حول سؤال حلقة اليوم من آراء اللاعبين عبر التغريدة أدناه.

خلاصة الآراء

يبدو بأن الأغلبية كان لديهم رغبات بعودة ألعاب أخرى حيث صوت ٣٤٫٧٪ لخيار “غيرها” وسأضع أدناه تغريدات توضح ما يفضله هؤلاء. المرتبة الثانية كانت من نصيب Parasite Eve حيث حازت على ٣١٪ من الأصوات. أما Chrono Trigger فحازت على ١٩٪ من الأصوات و١٥٫٢٪ اختاروا Drakengard.
