so I watch idats one man band video maybe every week because one man band aleksa has such a grip on the creases of my brain folds, and one day I was lightly searching, perusing if you will, to see if he's done more music stuff and I found this gem courtesy of dailymotion user HankSydney. about half an hour of Aleksa singing what I assume is Serbian folk and honestly what a treat. none of us have ever done even close to what would be enough to deserve this. wonderful

As he talks, the others have mixed reactions from lowered their heads in shame and guilt while others cross their arms and turn their heads in guilt. While I stop at the edge of the treeline, listening.

Keeping my back towards them, I reach up to wipe away the tears before turning towards them, walking over to Astarion. Not trusting my voice as I reach to gently squeeze his hand in thanks before walking towards my tent and going inside.

Astarion watched the group scurry away, sighing exaggeratedly and placing his hands on his hips. Gods... he hated having to be the stickler. He would have loved a good witch hunt. Or, well, he did in theory. But when it came to seeing his friend there being persecuted by everyone around them. Well... he wasn't 100% sure what parts of him were alive or dead, but he was fairly sure his heart was at that.

He flinched slightly in surprise when someone suddenly touched his hand, glancing downward before meeting eyes with his friend. "Oh, don't..." he sighed, not wanting the praise. He was no hero and frankly, anyone coming close to calling him one was going to make him sick.

"Just tell me I'm beautiful as thanks and we can call it even."

What is something great that has happened to you this past week?

I know it’s only Thursday but I’ve had A week and thought it would be nice hearing some positive things :) 🧡

Not gonna lie, cactus, my week has also not been the greatest, but putting all of that aside, there were also some cool things happening:

- I celebrated my first art anniversary and the community here was very cute about it. I loved reading all the tags.

- Generally I love reading all the little notes people leave in the tags of my drawings / writing posts. It is both uplifting, motivating and inspires me to keep creating, as well as it provides a welcome distraction from the not-so-cool stuff.

- My cat is being very clingy at the moment (it's colder again which means I get a lot of cat cuddles).

- And in terms of what to look forward to: My injury should be well enough that I can go to dance class tomorrow. I haven't been able to go for weeks and missed it a lot.

I hope you have something to look forward to as well that makes a gloomy week a little less gloomy 🫂

"I'm sorry, okay! I'm sorry! I don't remember it, I don't remember anything!" I shout as my eyes grow watery as I continue.

"I'm trying okay! I'm trying to remember, but nothing comes! I have no idea what I did before all of this but fucking hells I'm trying!" I'm panting by the end, tears slowly rolling down my cheeks as a sad broken laugh leaves me.

Without waiting for a response or action, I turn away walking into the forest and disappearing from sight.

Astarion frowned as he watched his companions turn to animals. Gods, he hated to be the reasonable one. And Gods... if there was one thing he hated more than having to be the responsible one, it was having to be the hero.

He stepped forward between his companion and the rest of their party. "You are all being entirely ridiculous," Astarion announced.

"What on earth do you mean 'everything makes sense'? All that this person has done is help us get through the fields of intellect devowerers and goblins and who knows what the hell else. Sure, that bard is dead... but I think if you're putting anything together from before that, then you're just projecting your fear about this whole thing onto them." He sighed, before turning to the Bhalspawn.

"Come back, you dummy." He called. "The fact you said something at all is enough proof for me that you don't want to be a Bhalspawn. It's not like you can help who births you or bites you or... whatever." Astarion sighed. This was all getting much too touchey-feely for him.

"Besides, do I have to mention that we are all quite literally in the same boat? Do I really have to remind everyone that if one of us leaves this little coven we've gathered together, the artifact's protection won't extend to them, and they will turn into a mind-flayer as soon as they leave it's radius? Are you really prepared to doom someone to that?"
