Summary:

Dream had known the moment he saw the rose bushes that Techno had grown them for him; they were so different from the hardy, resilient dandelions that he preferred, finicky and difficult and often rewarded the gardener with a prick of a thorn. There's probably a dumb metaphor in there, thought Dream. or techno's favorite flower is dandelions. dream loves roses. it's something that stays constant despite the chaos and complications that surround them. the other constant is the feelings they have for each other but it never seems to be the right time. will it ever be? dandelions grow in the arctic, can roses?

Anyways just to be 100% clear c!dreamnoblade is cool and c!Techno and c!Dream would be one of the healthiest couples on the entire goddamn smp despite both of them having so many issues. They're adhd4adhd and I love that for them.

Both of them are sending out wedding invites as a joke, having people on the SMP RSVP, going "oh fuck now we're obligated to have a wedding" and then making an entire fake wedding that's staged to distract people while badboyhalo officiates their actual wedding in a little venue with the syndicate. So many characters show up to the fake wedding intending to object or cause trouble only to realize they got Fooled. Get dunked on losers, c!Techno is gonna go have an awesome wedding night with his new husband and all of you look dumb as hell.

If cdream and ctechno somehow got into a relationship and stayed committed post prison too, would ctechno be able to stop cdream from returning to prison and doing various harmful things to both himself and others? Could he stop cdream from continuing the 'reset the server and kill everyone' plan? Considering that cdnb is practically one of the, if not the most healthiest cdream ship

Are you asking if Dream can be convinced to set aside his path, to be talked off the ledge? Because the answer is plainly yes. There was a whole-ass finale about that. Extending Dream a hand in kindness is super effective, it turns out.

This is complicated by how a big part of that process involved an enemy offering friendship instead of a friend.

This is complicated further by how Dream doesn't HAVE any damn friends circa the finale.

(Except for Punz, but let's be honest, Punz doesn't exactly count as a friend in this sense of emotional support. While Punz clearly thinks of Dream as a friend, he's also enabling Dream's mental spiral/suicide plan. Punz is The Plan.)

If Dream had actual emotional support in the form of someone showing him a different path... things could be very different indeed.

A Dream who is emotionally in touch with himself enough to start a committed romantic relationship with someone is a Dream who is significantly changed, and whose priorities have significantly changed.

In canon, c!rivals don't have mutual commitment, they have mutual respect. Which is different. I would expect that respect to carry into a romantic relationship.

So it's not that Techno would stop Dream from returning to the prison. It's not that I think Techno would involve himself in preventing whatever shenanigans Dream wanted to get up to. That's Dream's business, and Techno isn't his parole officer.

Instead, it's that commitment to Techno and to the peaceful life that Techno's offering would constitute a change in Dream's priorities and perspective.
