Okay… I have a request..

Beast wars waspinator finding a sparkling in an abandoned escape pod. I just like the idea of waspinator as a dad and his sparkling just adores him.

Waspinator has to be one of my favorite Predacon's in the show! I'm glad someone remembers him!

Beast Wars

Sparkling bean’s beast mode is a fuzzy moth.

Waspinator has a history of having bad luck thrown upon him.

He just can’t seem to catch a break from the blaster shots from the Maximals or the constant feeling of being overlooked and being mistreated by the Predacons.

When he comes across the abandoned pod, the scan had been completed. The pod had opened with a hiss. Waspinator had raised his blaster in case whatever in the pod decided to attack him.

All he heard was soft cooing. Slowly he approaches the pod and looks inside. A little sparkling with large optics looked at him.

They were so cute!

“Wazzpinator confused. Why zzzo cute?”--Waspinator

Giggly bean noises

Waspinator is melting inside at the cute little giggles. He couldn’t leave the little guy out here. What if someone else got him? What if the Maximal’s got them?! He wouldn’t be able to shoot the little thing!

Now he is making his way to the Predacon base with his new companion. He knows that the base isn’t exactly the best place for the sparkling, but maybe this is his ticket for proper recognition by Megatron!

“Okay little Buddy. Being good for Wazzpinator. Wazzpinator needs this.”--Waspinator

Giggly sparkling noises

Turns out Megatron just acknowledged that found something to give the Predacons an edge over the Maximals and ordered Terrorsaur to bring the sparkling to the lab for Tarantulas to take a look at it.

Waspinator did not like this idea at all. Not at all. He didn’t want Little Fuzzy Buddy anywhere near that Spider! What if Tarantulas decided to dissect them? Or worse, eat them!

But they were orders… so he hesitantly gave the sparkling to Terrorsaur. The sparkling made some little clicking and whirling sounds, almost mimicking a whine. Terrorsaur made them face him.

“Such a small little pest.”--Terrorsaur

“…”--Sparkling

“Why are you looking at me like that?” --Terrorsaur

“WWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!”--Sparkling

To everyone’s surprise the sparkling started Shrieking bloody murder when they were in Terrorsaurs arms. Waspinator could bear it, and quickly took them back. As if a switch were flipped they stopped screaming and giggled looking at him.

Giggly sparkling noises

“What is the All Spark was that?!”--Terrorsaur

“Wazzpinator don’t know.”--Waspinator

“Never mind that. Scorponok, get the sparkling, yes.”--Megatron

“All right Megatron. Come here little guy.”--Scorponok

“WWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!”--Sparkling

“Never mind take them back!”--Scorponok

Once again, they started screaming until Waspinator held them again. After everyone regained their hearing again, Megatron appointed Waspinator to oversee the sparkling. He doesn’t fight or complain about his new job, in fact he gets a bit happy that Little Fuzzy Buddy isn’t going to leave him.

Now that Waspinator is overseeing the sparkling, he is going to do his best for this sparkling.

Constantly keeping an eye on them. He knows that the Predacons should not be trusted and doesn’t want the sparkling to grow up with them being their top influence.

“Buddy! Buddy! NO DO NOT GOT INTO THE VENT!!”--Waspinator

“Buddy eats fuel please? Please for Wazpinator?”--Waspinator

“Wazpinator is taking Buddy out of base for a bit today.”--Waspinator

He does try to get them out of the base from time to time. Usually saying that he was teaching them the ways of the Predacons.

“Yes. At least their someone here that still believes in the Predacons cause. Yes, the future is bright.”--Megatron

Meanwhile Waspinator and Buddy are bird watching out in the fields.

He works hard to make sure he has enough time to give to the growing sparkling. Especially when the sparkling made their first transformation into a fuzzy moth.

“Yes! Yes! Yes! My baby izzz flying!”--Waspinator

Sudden realization that he has become a parent hits.

He hates going on patrol and leaving them behind in the base. Yes, there are other Predacons that look after them when he is gone, but that still doesn’t make him feel any better. Honestly would rather have the Maximals looking after them. And has considered it.

Lucky for him though after the first 3 times of the others looking ab=after the sparkling, it was decided that Waspinator not leave the sparkling until they grew out of the habit of screaming.

“Oh thank the Primes the screaming has stopped!”--Tarantulas

“Wazzpinator here!”--Waspinator

“Take it! Take the spawn of Unicron out of here!”--Terrorsaur

“Well, thatz not very nice thing to say to Fuzzy Buddy.”—Waspinator

The sparkling had reigned down their terrifying shrieks on any unsuspecting Predacon within a 10 feet radius.

As the sparkling gets a bit older and Megatron slowly becomes more deranged, he does eventually come across a crossroad. To stay in the Predacon ranks, continuing to live in fear and pass that on to his kid. To become neutral and risk both sides to fire on him, or worse his sparkling. Or to defect over to the Maximals.

Waspinator knocking on the door of the Maximal base with Buddy in one of those baby straps.

Optimus Primal opening the door.

“Wazzpinator creator now. Wazzpinator wants to be a Maximal now.”--Waspinator

“What?”--Optimus

Waspinator moving inside.

“Where Wazzpinator put bags?”--Waspinator

Confused Gorilla noises

It ends up with him defecting to the Maximals. Dinobot had vouched for his former teammate and bought his sob story and wanted a better life for his kid. While everyone was weary of him at first, thinking this being a trick, they eventually relaxed and got to know their new teammates. This makes Waspinator very happy.

Finally, a place that he knows this sparkling won’t be in danger every minute.

He still can’t believe that once upon a time he didn’t have them in his life. Counts his lucky stars to being able to have them here.

Maybe this was a way the universe was apologizing to Waspinator for all the years being in the Predacon ranks.

finally able to post this zine piece i did for the @primitivebeastszine way back in july earlier this year! i'm still very proud of how it came out, as it was my first ever zine piece, even if i feel i've improved a lot since then. i'm so thankful i was able to be a part of the mod team, and a contributor, watching this zine come to life has been absolutely unreal. although i played a small part, i'm so proud of the team and all those who contributed! 💜💜

POSSESSION

I can finally show the full piece I did for the @primitivebeastszine ! In contrast to the other piece for another zine I showed months ago, I up to eleven the scratchy rendering trying to blend it with the photography collage under it! I think it suits perfectly the frizzled feeling of our poor Waspy being struck by the freaky spark force of someone as chaotical as Starscream x'D. This was A LOT OF WORK! The only elements that are mirrored are Screamer's ghost face and the wings, but the rest is done all from scratch, and the textures and photos were properly adjusted to work together: only on Waspinator's body, there's a total of 50 individual layers of elements!!!.

Under the cut, I will leave more details of the process for the ones curious x3

… no doubt why my software crashed multiple times LMAO so I ended up separating it into two files, the background collage and character collage, put them all in flats, and then worked over them more comfortably.

And them both with EXTRA EFFECTS AND LAYERS AND LAYERS OF FILTERS ksdjhfkjshdf

With two fanzine artworks under my belt, I can say I'm satisfied with my yearly contribution to crazy experimentations for the enjoyment of a community of creatives as cool as this one 💚.

I really like SG Megatron's design here!! I think it's also a good comparison to SG Megatron's design in the SG comics!

I'm not so sure about SG Dinobot and SG Waspinator's designs though (SG Dinobot looks just a little to close to baseline Dinobot for my liking, and honestly? I just don't like that color of yellow on Waspinator.)

Heh! It’s funny having waspinator just bringing back Dinobot’s kid to him.

In my mind, that fic happens in a world where waspinator also has a kid. So imagine if dinobot and waspinator’s kids became best friends.

Much to the chagrin of the parents.

I have been thinking about this too! I've been thinking about creating a work later on in all the sparklings meeting each other. But that's on the drawing board for now. This is mainly centered on how the sparklings were introduced to one another than little misadventure. If you want little misadventures please request when the request are open.

Dinobot and Waspinator's sparkling Buddy’s meeting for the first time

Beast Wars

Takes place mainly in the ‘Dinobot finds an abandoned sparkling fic’. Does mention parts of the ‘Waspinator finds an abandoned sparkling fic.’

Fuzzy is the name for the moth sparkling.

Birdy is the name of the canary sparkling

Waspinator was already thinking about his future with the Predacons as he became a father to a fuzzy moth sparkling. Things were getting more and more dangerous as Megatron’s expectations were getting higher and loyalty was called into question. He was lucky that Megatron still allowed him to keep the sparkling and stay (mainly because the sparkling would scream REALLY loud).

He just needed one more good reason to leave.

His sign showed up in the form of another smaller sparkling. He recognized it as the Maximals newest sparkling from his scouting patrols.

 

“Found the lil’ thing ovva by the river Who knew it was so easy to get a sparkling with a lil’ bit of energon goodies!”--Quickstrike

Flashback to Waspinator using the goodies to bribe Fuzzy to take a bath.

This left a bad sinking feeling in Waspinators tanks.

“Give the sparkling to Waspinator until I figure on what to do with it.”--Megatron

“On it Boss.”--Quickstrike

Fuzzy and Birdy saw each other and just clicked.

Fuzzy was touching Birdy’s little feathers while birdy was running their servos through Fuzzy’s fuzz. Waspinator was sure that at that moment he was going to die of cuteness overload.

He gently grabbed Birdy and held them up examining the sparkling. Birdy just giggled and gently patted his faceplate.

After a bit Megatron turns to Waspinator and Quickstrike.

“Quickstrike. Take our newest sparkling and take it to Tarantulas. I have a few requests to make on this new sparkling.”--Megatron

“Sounds like a plan!”--Quickstrike

“Ummm… what Spider bot do to Little bird bot?”--Waspinator

“None of your concern Waspinator. Not unless you want your sparkling to go too.”--Megatron

Quickstrike simply grabbed the sparkling away from their new friend and started walking towards Tarantulas’ lab. Fuzzy started whimpering at the loss of their friend and knowing what direction they were heading. Waspinator didn’t do a lot of good things in his life recently, but this was something he was going to do right.

Quickly he grabbed his sparkling and went after Quickstrike.

“Megatron hazz new orders! Go on patrol and let Wazzpinator take sparkling to Spider bot.”--Waspinator

“Well, ain’t that nice of the Boss to do. I’ve been itching to get out of here anyways.”--Quickstrike

Quickstrike practically tossed him the sparkling and started running out the door.

Waspinator quickly grabbed the sparklings in his arms and shot for the sky and far from the Predacon base. He successfully removed his Predacon badge and trackers as he stopped for a break. The sparklings were happily playing on the ground

Birdy tried flying but failed.

Waspinator took this moment to help the sparkling on their flying ability

“Yes, Little Bird bot fly! Little Bird bot is flying! Wazzpinator so proud of—”--Waspinator

“Buddy!?”--Dinobot

“Oh uh.”--Waspinator

It was Dinobot and some of the Maximals. Birddy flew straight into Dinobots arms, who in returned held them protectively against the Predacon. Waspinator standing protectively over his own sparkling

“Wazzpinator no hurt sparklings. Thizz one mine. Wazzpinator save Little Bird bot from going into Spider Bot lab. Experimentzz bad for Little Bird bot.”--Waspinator

“…Thank you…”--Dinobot

“Wazzpinator and Fuzzy want to be Maximal.”--Waspinator

“What?”--Dinobot

Dinobot looked at his sparkling seeing no damage and looked back at Waspinator with his sparkling.

He felt for him. He would have been in a similar situation if he were in Waspinator place.

Dinobot looked over at Primal giving him a look that said he supported this.

Waspinator was made a Maxmial that very night.

As for the sparklings…

Fuzzy and Birdy become inseparable.

They constantly had sleepovers in their rooms. It was almost as if they were spark twins. They couldn’t leave without the other without one of the screaming bloody murder.

“AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!--Fuzzy

“PRIMUS WHERE’S THE OTHER KID!?”—Rattrap

Waspinator doesn’t mind that the two sparklings are together.

He finds it cute.

Dinobot does get a bit annoyed.

Only because they one-on-one time he had with the sparkling is now shared with another sparkling and Waspinator. But not even he could deny the cuteness the two sparklings had on him.

Fun fact. I've watched the entirety of Beast Wars and it ROCKED, okay, anyone who's been put off watching BW after seeing like, still images or the opening and thinking it's ugly, give it that second chance! It's so incredibly worth it. People really weren't kidding when they said it's one of the best Transformers shows.
