"Buyer of Tires Is Fined $100," Montreal Star. May 12, 1943. Page 3. --- L. Auclair Also Loses $600 Purchase Price --- For having purchased 20 auto tires from a person not authorized to sell them, Lucien Auclair, who gave his address as 4492 LaSalle blvd., was fined $100 and costs to-day by Judge Edouard Tellier.

Auclair admitted having purchased 20 tires at $30 each. After he pleaded guilty, Andre Montpetit, special prosecution counsel, asked the court to impose a severe sentence as an example to others. He claimed there had been too much illegal traffic in automobile tires in Montreal. He suggested a prison sentence or a fine of $500 or $600 as an alternative.

His Honor, however, declared that he was giving consideration to the fact that he was ordering the tires confiscated, and Auclair was thereby losing the $600 purchase price. He said that for that reason he would impose the fine of only $100 and costs.

my brother booked a flight to the us not two weeks after he begged 200 € off me to pay his debts to the bank and it's pissing me off bad ngl. i'm usually happy to give money to my siblings and friends but at this point he is using me it's not like i have that kind of money just lying around like i was struggling this month bc i gave it to him and he decides to invest into an impulsive trip to fucking arizona?? also don't get me started on the way he pulls the same shit on our sister. he heard that she was working full time and decided this was a good opportunity to ask her to cover his semester fees. asking his LITTLE SISTER for the money SHE earned working a job she hates because she was saving up for her own apartment... he really has no shame omfg

Unpopular Opinion Time

I'm not excited for The Stolen Heir, and I'm probably the only person who isn't. I think part of it is my aversion to sequels, but... I honestly don't want to return to Elfhame. The story was done in The Queen of Nothing. The Suren storyline/cliffhanger was fine as just that--a cliffhanger. I trust Holly Black, but... idk man. I'm just not excited. The Folk of the Air had a happy ending and sequels always mean disrupting said happy ending. Jude and Cardan finally worked everything out and built themselves a family and I'm not ready to see it all ripped apart.

If Cardan and Jude aren't in the book, or if they appear as a small cameo but nothing more, then I'll probably like it.

I’m gonna start crying lol why can’t I just have one good and normal day

#I thought we were gonna have a stay at home date night but I guess he’s gonna play Xbox with his friends who don’t like me instead #also my husband’s truck got stolen and the cops (obviously) never found it #so he’s getting an insurance payout (which is good) but I kinda thought we were gonna look for a new vehicle together #but I don’t think he’s going to involve me at all #and he might leave the state to buy a truck he’s never seen before because his dad super promises that it’s a good one #plus I saw a guy dying on Wednesday #(don’t worry he was not a good person and I didn’t really know him) #(he was my friend’s ex / father of her child who abused her like. really bad) #(my friend thought she would regret it if she didn’t at least say goodbye) #(but it was kind of messed up to see even if he was terrible) #(tw for detailed description of the death) #his spinal cord got severed when he (possibly on purpose) got hit by a car #and he refused the breathing tube after surgery to fix his leg #so he was basically suffocating/drowning in his own lung fluid #he wasn’t awake or anything #he couldn’t speak or react by squeezing the nurse’s fingers #death just messes me up I guess #also I barely have any money until tax returns / until our work bonus #I’m just having a hard time #idk. I’m sad. and I feel lonely.
