#but rn he's busy worrying for his son
Note
I was rereading Dreams of Our Past recently, and - well, aside from falling in love with the story all over again, I find myself desperately curious about what happened when Regis met his grandchildren. (Also Cor and Clarus' reaction to the Deep City, because they *never knew it existed* - and I'd imagine that's quite a shock.)
Oh my gosh. Thank you so much! For some reason it always surprises me when peolpe say they like Dreams of Our Past. But I appreciate every single one of you with all my little author heart.
.
Regis felt like his insides had frozen over. His son was in danger. Finally he saw his son again, and he was in danger. But it was not a danger Regis could fight.
He sat in a cluttered kitchen, at an ancient wooden table along with Clarus and Cor and felt... nothing. Nothing but a fathomless pit called dread. His daughter-in-law was with his son. Something about making sure he drank his potions. The untouched tea in front of him had long gone luke warm.
Remembering his son's deathly pale face, the black slashes across his skin broken open and leaking magic so bright it was hard to look at, made his teeth grind together so hard it hurt.
Hushed noises from the door made him look up. Both Clarus and Cor stopped their hushed discussion, faces set in serious frowns. Regis should have been listening to what they were discussing, but he just... couldn't. The door was slightly ajar. Just enough so for a small face to peek halfway through. All he could see was a mop of wild brownish red hair and honey golden eyes blinking cautiously into the room, but that was enough.
For the first time in only the Gods knew how long, Regis moved. His joints protested rather soundly and a flaring pain in his knee made him press his lips into a tight line. Slowly he moved towards the door, leaning heavily on his cane. The little face vanished. Childish whispering came through the door. No sound of little feet running.
Regis pushed the door open and there they were. Two children, a younger boy and an older girl. Both looked up at him with large eyes, their shape nearly identical. Both so very clearly of the Lucis Caelum line. If Regis had been able, he would have knelt down. As his knee made that impossible, he settled for a warm smile. The searing cold freezing his insides started to thaw.
The boy toddled forward a few steps. A huge grin lit up his face, making him look nigh on identtical to Noctis at that age. Regis's heart nearly burst out of his chest.
"'Lo," the boy chirped. "I'm Astra! This's Soli, she don't like people."
"Astra!" the girl hissed.
"Hello," Regis said nearly on auto-pilot. His eyes burnt. "My name is Regis. It's truly a pleasure to meet you. Both of you."
Astra's storm grey eyes grew huge and his mouth fell into an 'o' shape. "You talk like Iggy! Soli, he talks like Iggy!"
The girl huffed at her brother. The grip she had on his jumper loosened. She looked up at Regis again, more curious now than cautious.
"You're him, right? Our grandpa?" she asked.
Regis could not bring himself to say another word, so he nodded. With a high pitched squeal Astra lurched forward, dragging his sister with him. She held her brother back enough to lessen the impact, but Regis still nearly lost his footing when they both collided with his legs.
Astra clung to his healthier leg like a little monkey while Solaris's arms wound around his waist. Regis nearly dropped his cane in his hast to hug both of them at once. He took a large, shuddering breath and silently the tears started to fall.

OK HEAR ME OUT! Reader who is a single mother of one of Aizawa’s students X Aizawa???? PLEASE I need it!
IM IN LOVE WITH YOU YES OMG I NEED THIS anon im giving you kisses rn
Aizawa x fem!reader (also your denki's mom bc why not)
Tumblr media
A small sigh escapes your lips as you pull into the parking lot of your son's school, it's still early in the year and his teacher has requested to meet with you.
He doesn't even have to explain why you're here because you already have a good idea: Denki's grades.
You smooth out your skirt and double check that your blouse is buttoned all the way. Security stopped you at the gate which took around ten minutes to defuse, they honestly thought you looked too young to be anyone's mother.
Thirty-two is a bit young to have a fifteen year old but you know how it goes: unprotected sex = baby. It's the same old story, your boyfriend freaked out and dipped on you.
It made you proud Denki got into a school like this, your goal is for him to further his education... something you never got the chance to do.
Finding his classroom was a whole other situation. UA is HUGE. So poor you is walking around every corner looking for class "1-A".
"Are you lost?" A voice loud and energetic asked, it caused you to jump in your skin. When you turn your head you see blond hair sticking upward toward the ceiling and a pair of goofy shades. He notices your giggle and quirks an eyebrow.
"Are you a new student?!" The blond questions, his face is full of energy and excitement.
"No.. do I really look that young?" You ask, smile bright.
"You do look pretty young." As soon as he says that it dawns on him that you might be a younger mother.
"Ah- sorry! I just-"
"Don't worry about it. I was actually looking for class 1-A, my son's teacher requested to meet with me." His eyes widen.
"Don't you worry, I can take you to Eraserhead's class!" With that you follow him down a flight of stairs and you guys turn like four corners. Well damn, you were way off.
You had been too caught up into your thoughts to realize he stopped, you bumped right into him.
"Sorry." He gives you a soft smile, "It's nothing!"
He knocks loudly, "Oh, Eraser! You have a visitor!" The blond doesn't even wait for a response to open the door, he just bursts in.
"Well I've gotta go now! Take care Miss..."
"L/n, the name's L/n." A thumbs up is sent your way before the loud blond man leaves.
A deep voice causes your brain to stir, "Thank you for coming on such a short notice, Miss L/n."
And what the fuck because Denki's teacher has beautiful long black hair, stubble, and a little scar under his right eye. He must be married you assume, because no way a handsome man like him is single.
You respond with confidence in your voice, "Of course, I apologize for keeping you waiting. I got lost."
His face softens as he motions for you to sit on the chair he's placed by his desk.
"Understandable, UA is not small. Let's get down to business, shall we?" He sits at his desk, organizing some papers before handing you a few. You feared the worst, Denki always strived to do his best so you shouldn't have anything to even fear.
"My students have been under attack a few times by villians, we've spoke to the board about the situation, because parents are worried about their children." You were relieved this had nothing to do with his grades but it scared you that villians were out for high schoolers.
"I thought the attacks stopped." Aizawa nods at you.
"They have for the time being but we fear they won't completely stop, which is why UA is building a dormitory system to keep students safe. What I've handed you is the consent form for your son to live on campus. It's not manditory but it is highly suggested." He explains to you and you read the pages.
"How do I know Denki will be in good hands?" You ask biting your lip, it doesn't go unnoticed by Aizawa because his eyes flicker to your lips then back up to your face.
"I understand what it's like to lose someone close to you, which is why I put so much effort and care into my students, they may say and think otherwise but they don't see what happens behind the scenes." You could tell his words were sincere, it wasn't convincing enough though. You worry too much about him and just the mere thought of losing him is enough to scare you.
Aizawa leans in to place a hand on yours, it feels tingly.
"I know all you have is my word to go off of, but I promise you I will protect your son and all my other students with my life." His eyes burn into yours. You get lost in those beautiful black eyes.
"Uh- hah. I'll look over the papers."
In the end you sign the papers.
Tumblr media
"Mom you have to tell me who's taking you to dinner!" Denki says for the millionth time over the phone. You call him almost every night to check in on him.
"It's none of your business, young man." You'd tell him when you were ready. Just... not now. He'd freak out if he knew you were going out to dinner with his teacher.
Before you left that day, Aizawa asked for your number. You happily gave it to him, there was no way in hell you'd miss out on a chance like that.
After a month of just talking (and flirting) he asked you out for dinner, you agreed of course.
"But mommmmmm why nottttttt?" Denki whined.
"I'll tell you when we're ready. Anyways I have to go. Take care, sweetheart." He sighs but tells you he loves you. "I love you too, Denki." He hangs up, leaving you to finish your makeup.
The plan was originally to meet at dinner, but Aizawa was not letting up until you agreed that he could pick you up.
Your hands were starting to sweat again. It's normal to be this nervous, right? Dating hadn't really been in your line of vision while raising a child. It seemed to be the same process: go out with someone, get along nicely, start developing real feelings, they find out you have a son, they leave.
It seemed refreshing to finally go out with someone who knew you were raising a young man. Waiting it out seems to have been the right choice. Aizawa is a mature man.
The door bell rings and you shoot up out of your seat like a rocket.
"Fuckfuckfuckfuck, I look okay right?" It felt weird to ask your reflection, but self love is everything these days.
Your burgundy v cut dress was a bit on the short side, it hugged your body which made you a little insecure. You'd heard some women say pregnancy made them glow. You were convinced otherwise, it took you some time to finally feel beautiful.
Your walk to the door was dreadful, what if he takes it all back? Upon opening the door he was standing there in all his beauty. His raven colored hair was put up in a messy bun, his stubble cleaned up some, and he looked a little less tired. Your eyes inched down his body, he's wearing a white button up and black slacks.
"You're beautiful." The two of you say at the same time. Your eyes widen.
"Thank you, I was actually kind of nervous." His face softens at your words. The hero holds his hand out so you can take it. Just like the last time his hand was warm and made you feel tingly. You chuckled at how dumb that sounded, definitely sounds like something from a cheesy romance novel.
Tumblr media
Dinner was a little awkward but beyond amazing. A waitress spilled wine on you, she apologized like a million times. You weren't mad though, having a son meant many messes were made... especially on you. The wine didn't stain that bad because of your dress color.
Aizawa offered you the jacket he kept in his car. Accepting it was a no brainer. He held it out for you and you gave him a confused look.
"I'll put it on you, come here." His voice was low and seductive. He noticed your smile. "You're so cute." He whispers as you put your arms in the jacket sleeves.
"Only cute?" Your question was followed by your signature smirk. The food was paid for, his hand wrapped around your waist and he walked you two to his car.
"Sexy, funny, chatty.... I could go on." He says with a smug smile.
"Oh stop it, I'm not sexy-" You don't get to finish your sentence, Aizawa twirls you around so you guys are facing each other. His hands rest on your hips for a second and in a flash he's cupping your face.
Your heart started beating a mile per minute... no second. He slowly pulls you in, those lazy eyes looking into yours. His lips look so kissable.
You pucker your lips and he presses his lips to yours, there weren't any fireworks or sparks like in Disney movies, it felt like he was one with you. Your body was connected to his in a way.
When the kiss is over he's staring at you, "you are sexy, I don't know who's lied to you."
__________
When he pulls into your driveway, you realize this date is almost over. Hopefully he'll agree to going out again. He seemed to enjoy the night as much as you did.
He walked you up to your door, eyes trained on you.
Your feet stop on your doormat. It felt like you were stuck in cement.
"Will I be seeing you again, Aizawa?"
"Call me Shota, and yes, I'll be seeing you again." He faces you and kisses you again. A sigh of relief escapes your lips.
"Call me." You say and he hums in acknowledgement.
Maybe... trying again at dating won't hurt you.
Tumblr media
Hiii anon, I hope you like this!! I don't think this has been my best work but I think it shouldn't be that bad? Lol imagine how Denki would react when he finds out you're with his teacher. Love you guys, working on Teacher's Assistant ch. 1

ok I’m listening. Ward gives off step-dad or dads bsf vibes… I don’t make the rules
The thoughts in my head rn don’t do this to me.
18+, MDNI <3
I definitely agree with all of those but I’m also 100% confident that Ward is the definition of the “boyfriend’s dad” trope. Like I can imagine cheating on Rafe with him at family functions..
Some kind of party, maybe. Rafe and you, arguing as per usual behind the scenes, but then Ward sweeps in to comfort you when Rafe storms out after a screaming match upstairs. Ward’s business colleagues are waiting for him, but he’s going to sit next to you on Rafe’s bed and he’s going to give you as much comfort as he can. And as your sniffling into his shoulder, all teary eyed and sad… you can’t help but kiss him !
And oh my god the instant your lips hit his he’s just feral for it. Like doesn’t even gaf. His big hand curling into your hair, and he pushes you down onto the bed before he’s got his head in between your thighs and he’s devouring you like his son can’t. Praising the hell out of you, coming up for air to give you another kiss.
“Fuck, baby, how long has he been deprivin’ you? Sweetest little pussy I’ve tasted in so long.. don’t worry, ‘m gonna take care of you, sweetheart.”
Ugh ugh UGH and him easing it inside, his hands gripping your tits while he splits you open from behind. Whimpers spilling out of your lips as he practically folds you in half and puts all his weight on top of you… and when you call him daddy it drives him crazy.
“Oh, honey. I’ve got you, just let me ruin this little pussy. Yeah, yeah, look at how cute you look wrapped around me,” and then he chuckles, breathy against your ear, “Rafe doesn’t know what he’s missin’, huh?”
Brainrot. Absolute brainrot. God I’m a terrible person.

Getting brain rot from this shit rn. Ok so basically it’s Lloyd x reader with Both povs: reader is absolutely SMITTEN with Lloyd. I’m talking like staring at him with heart eyes in math class type shit. Unfortunately, he is not aware she even exits. HOWEVER, she does have a collection of love letters addressed to him, that she has not sent due to embarrassment. Her friends find out about it, and however do not approve of Lloyd, are like “whatever makes you happy” and urge her to start putting them in his locker, one/ a day as his secret admirer. Lloyd gets them, but is skeptical at first, because he thinks it’s just another form of bullying/public embarrassment. After a few days of getting them though, he shows the rest of the gang to see what they think. They are *very supportive* of him, and encourage him to find out who it is. And after a while of running around with no lead, he finds reader at lunch, writing one of those beloved pink letters. You can go from there!
Fem reader, school au thingy
Reader is described as smart, flustered easily, basically an awkward Highschool kid

secret someone. | lloyd x reader
This isn’t like you at all.
A quiet sigh escapes you as your fingers fidget with your pen, desperately trying to tune into the lecture. It isn’t exactly difficult material; you understand it quite well. It’s just the fact that the teacher only teaches using a monotonous PowerPoint, voice droning on and on and on. In short, your goblin brain has been focused on something else entirely. Something with far more visual appeal:
Lloyd Garmadon.
Yes, the blond-haired, emerald-eyed son of an Oni warlord had become the subject of your schoolgirl infatuation as of late. For a few weeks now – almost a month – you've had him on your mind. You’re not entirely sure what triggered it, but you’d caught yourself staring at him one day. It all got worse from there.
Hell, you haven’t even really talked to him. Sure, he’s in a few of your classes, but you never were able to build up the courage to actually initiate conversation. Something about him was warmly inviting but also deeply intimidating, and you can’t quite put your finger on what that could be.
It could be the rumors – whispers shared in the hallway while the “Garmadork Squad” passed, about how Lloyd would eventually share the same fate as his father and drag his friends down with him. But you highly doubt that. From what you’ve seen of him, he’s super sweet to others no matter how badly they may treat him. You’d always found that admirable considering how the majority of the school is against him.
You’re snapped out of your haze when the bell rings, relief coursing through you. Thank the stars it’s the end of the day. You quickly gather all of your belongings before stuffing everything into your backpack, hauling it up on your desk so that you can zip it up. With that, you’re ready to go.
…
“Hey! Sorry I’m late!” you yell, spying all of your friends already seated at the café. “You know how busy the school gets when it lets out.”
“No worries,” one of them replies as you set your backpack on one of the empty chairs. You unzip it, grabbing your wallet before going to order a drink.
While you’re waiting for it to be made, you hear a little bit of commotion at your table.
You turn to see two of your friends crowded around the table, both looking down at something. Not thinking anything of it, you turn back around, idly scrolling through your phone as you wait.
Once the barista hands it over to you, you thank her. Then, you make your way back to your table.
Upon arriving, you find two of your friends fussing over a mess made on the floor.
“What happened?” you question, peering through them.
“I tripped and knocked some of our stuff over,” the first one replies, kneeling down to clean up the mess.
Your heart skips a beat when you realize that some of the contents of your bag have spilled, including one of your personal binders.
“Wait!” you squeak, pushing past them to gather all of the pink papers up. You shove them back into the binder, a blush adorning your cheeks as you pray none of them got the chance to read one.
To your dismay, though, one of your friends has already grabbed one, eyes scanning over the contents.
“Hey!” you say a little louder than you meant. “That’s...um...”
“What is it?” another girl questions.
“Aww...sorry, I didn’t realize this was so personal. Curiosity just kinda took over, I guess,” replies the girl that had been reading your letter. You grab it back from her, sighing heavily as you try not to be embarrassed.
“It’s okay,” you mumble, re-packing your bag and making sure it’s completely zipped. “Did...anyone else see it?”
“I kind of...told them. I’m sorry.”
You groan. “I guess it would have come out at some point anyway.”
“So...Lloyd?”
You sigh, burying your face in your hands. You should have just left your letters at home. “Yeah.”
“But he’s-”
“Don’t say it. I know. I get it. That’s why I didn’t say anything.”
“Are you going to tell him?” another girl asks.
“I haven’t even talked to him yet! I just...think he’s cute,” you mumble. “It’s probably just a temporary thing anyway. Besides, not one of us has even talked to him! Don’t you think people treat him a little unfairly?”
“I guess you have a point,” she replies.
“Why don’t you just put those letters into his locker? Like, you could put one in there per day or something?” another friend suggests.
You take a sip of your drink, taking a moment to ponder the idea. Hm...
“Yeah, you could be his secret admirer! That’d be cute!” someone else adds.
“I don’t know,” you mumble, fidgeting nervously. “I don’t want to make him uncomfortable.”
“Come on! It’s worth a shot,” another encourages. “Just give it a try and see what happens!”
Maybe it wouldn’t hurt? You’re not sure. But maybe she’s right – it could be worth a try. And perhaps it would make you feel better in the process.
You nod. “Okay. I’ll put one in tomorrow, then.”
“You got this! Good luck!”
…
“Man, our math test is going to suck today,” Jay comments, groaning slightly.
“Wait, what test?” Kai questions, turning to face the redhead with a puzzled expression.
“You’re hopeless,” Nya comments, rolling her eyes as the group enters the school.
Lloyd chuckles, attempting to match the high energy of his teammates. He can’t really bring himself to join in on the banter, though. Instead, he finds himself nervous to face the day.
“Anyways, see you guys at lunch!” Nya yells, following Jay and Zane down one hall.
Kai pats Lloyd on the shoulder before he and Cole go to their lockers. “Later, sis.”
Lloyd approaches his locker, fingers going to spin the lock around until it pops open. He pulls the door open, getting out what he needs when a pop of color catches his eye.
“Huh?” Lloyd mutters, spotting a red envelope resting on top of his belongings. He definitely didn’t put that in there. Someone must have slipped it in.
He picks it up, reading the writing on the front.
Lloyd
“Probably another prank,” he mumbles, deciding to open it anyways.
Inside is a neatly folded piece of paper. It’s a vibrant shade of pink, with cutesy doodles lining the right side and a paragraph of unfamiliar handwriting on the left.
Dear Lloyd,
Hm…how do I start this? To be honest…I guess you can call me a secret admirer of yours? I hope I’m not coming off as creepy!! But I’m too nervous to actually come up and talk to you…
So, for now, I’ll write about my feelings in the form of these letters!
To make a long story short, I saw you standing underneath the sunlight about a month ago for the first time. And it just made me realize how handsome you are. You and sunshine go hand-in-hand; the way it casts your blond hair in a warm glow, complimenting your pretty green eyes…I wish I could see them up close. They’re such an encapsulating shade of green!
Anyways, I won’t ramble for too long. I hope you have a good weekend! ^_^
Sincerely,
Your Secret Someone! ♥
Lloyd stares at the letter for a few seconds before reading it again to ensure that he was reading it right.
No…there’s no way he’d have a “secret someone”. This has to be another cruel prank, right? Yeah, that’s it. The bullies are just trying to get to him. The thought of it potentially being real crosses his mind, but he quickly shakes the possibility off.
He sighs, stuffing the paper into his bag and getting the other items he needs before slamming his locker and zipping his bag. That’s a new low, even for the jerks.
Letter forgotten, he makes his way to class for the time being.
…
You make your way through the locker area to see if Lloyd has arrived. Sure enough, you spot him opening his locker. You grow more nervous by the minute. Would he be uncomfortable? Creeped out?
The anxiety has quite a chokehold on you, but at the very least you wanted to give it a shot. Soon enough, he starts reading it. Oh stars…
You slow down slightly, watching as his face contorts into something of a conflicted expression. Uh-oh, that doesn’t look good!
He shoves it in his bag before he leaves, not sparing the letter a second glance. You feel your heart drop slightly, making your way to class.
You pull your phone out, sending a quick text to your friend:
He didn’t seem happy about it
Idk he looks kind of conflicted??
You shut your phone off as you begin your walk to class, hoping you didn’t make him uncomfortable.
Relax, hes probably wary of stuff like that bc of the bullying
And he might be shy too? So keep trying. If hes still not into it after a while then you can stop
But I don’t think a few more will hurt
You sigh, reading through the message before replying:
Okay, fine...
…
Lloyd thought the letters were going to stop after that.
But he was wrong – they kept on coming. One after another, and he wasn’t sure how to feel. Would the bullies even go this far for a prank?
He sighs, tuning out his teacher, who’s rambling on about something boring. Once more, he reads the latest letter:
Dear Lloyd,
I’ve seen the way that people treat you around here. I don’t think it’s fair at all. And despite their treatment towards you, you still are kind to them. I think that’s admirable.
People shouldn’t treat you differently because of your bloodline. I wish there was more that I could do to help, but almost everyone is in on it. I’m sorry I can’t do more about it.
I think you’re inspiring. Despite being subjected to their negativity, you still face them with a smile.
You’re so strong. I like that about you too. Don’t let them get you down.
Sincerely,
Your Secret Someone! ♥
Lloyd pushes the paper to the side, wishing his stupid blush would go away. At this point, he’s not sure of what he should do. Part of him remains hopeful that maybe, for once, someone outside of his friend group is behind this. And, even better, doing it with genuine intention.
The question lingers on his mind until lunch, where he finds himself squished between Kai and Cole at the group’s usual table.
“What’s on your mind, greenie? You’ve been pretty contemplative today,” Cole questions as he destroys an unsuspecting bottle of chocolate milk.
“Uh…” Lloyd trails off, debating on whether he should tell them. But then again…what else would he do? “It’s just…I’ve been getting these letters in my locker every day for almost two weeks now. And I don’t really know how to feel...”
He shuffles through his bag before pulling the stack of letters out. Kai immediately snatches them, shuffling through the pile and reading them.
“Damn, Lloyd. Looks like you have a secret admirer!” Kai notes, chuckling.
“Awww!” Nya coos. Lloyd blushes, averting his gaze.
“But, don’t you think it could be some sort of trick? Or another prank?” Lloyd asks, watching as Kai hands the stack to Cole.
“You said this has been going on for two weeks, yes?” Zane questions.
“Yeah…”
Cole hands the stack to Zane, who immediately scans the papers discreetly. “I find the likelihood of this being a prank very low. This handwriting does not match any of the bullies.”
“How do you know that?” Kai wonders, staring at Zane with mild intrigue.
“Because of the papers they have thrown at us in the past,” replies the nindroid. “All handwriting that I come across is automatically stored in my memory.”
“Ah,” Kai mumbles. “Well, there you go, Lloyd. You should find out who it is!”
“But how?” Lloyd wonders as Kai hands the papers back. He stares down at the pink papers, taking a moment to trace the handwriting with the tips of his fingers. Who could it possibly be? He wouldn’t even know where to start...
“Well, when do the letters usually appear?” Nya questions.
“When I get to school, usually it’s already inside,” Lloyd admits, studying the pink papers curiously.
“Maybe we could try and arrive earlier?” Jay suggests. “That way, we can weed potential suspects out by seeing who gets here early.”
Cole nods in responds, shifting his focus to a helpless pudding cup. “That sounds doable.”
“Then let’s do it,” Kai encourages. “Let the hunt begin!”
…
Day after day, Lloyd and the others arrive earlier to school, but to no avail. Whoever is behind this is better than Lloyd initially suspected.
Even so, the group keeps their eyes peeled throughout the coming days. As the week ends, Lloyd finds himself losing hope despite his friends’ encouragement.
Friday approaches, with Lloyd tucking the latest letter in one of his notebooks before heading to lunch with Jay.
“Any luck?” Jay wonders.
“No,” Lloyd answers. “I’m starting to think this person is a ghost!”
“Aw, come on, greenie. You’ve got to have a little more faith! I’m sure we just missed something,” Jay responds.
“I don’t know, Jay,” Lloyd mumbles as the two enter the lunchroom. “Maybe we should-”
He’s interrupted by Nya rushing in front of him, yanking Lloyd by the bicep and pulling him towards the table.
“Nya?! What is it?” Lloyd wonders, eyes wide as Nya hushes him.
“Look over there,” she whispers, gesturing towards one of the nearby lunch tables. Lloyd frowns, narrowing his stare as he slowly turns around.
At first, nothing seems out of place. The area is just filled with a few tables of students milling about, eating lunch and chatting.
It’s then Lloyd notices one group of girls in particular, one of which is writing. Upon closer inspection, though, he finds that she’s writing on…
“Pink paper!” Lloyd exclaims quietly.
“And there’s a red envelope next to her too!” Nya adds, pulling both Jay and Lloyd to their usual table. “So it has to be her!”
“Isn’t she in some of your classes?” Jay questions as the three sit down with the rest of the group.
“Yeah, she is,” Lloyd says. Wow. It’s you? He never would have guessed…
He hadn’t really spoken to you, but from what he saw within the classroom, you tended to keep to yourself.
“Lloyd, did you see her?” Cole questions.
“Yeah, I did.”
“She’s in my science class, and she’s really smart,” Cole notes, as the group eats together.
“Pretty, too,” Kai adds. “So, what are you going to do?”
Lloyd thinks for a moment before coming up with an idea. “I know exactly what I’m going to do.”
…
You sigh, your worries beginning to get the best of you as you head towards your locker at the end of the day. Maybe you should just stop? You’re starting to feel a bit silly.
Momentarily you debate on texting your friends how you’re feeling, but decide to hold off. Well...you only have one letter left. Might as well finish them off before you make a decision.
As per usual, you slip the envelope into Lloyd’s locker for what you believe to be the last time. With that done, you go to your own locker in order to get what you need.
Sighing softly, you open your locker, about to exchange items when a flurry of motion captures your attention.
Your gaze drifts down to find a red envelope on the floor.
“What?” you mumble, frowning as you go to pick it up. Had you missed an old letter? That would make sense – perhaps one simply fell out of your binder?
But, when you flip it over, you find that the handwriting is not yours. Instead, your name is scrawled across the front in childishly messy handwriting.
Wait...no...this can’t...there’s no way...?
You anxiously gnaw on the inside of your cheek as you tear the envelope open, pulling out the pink piece of paper inside:
Following an addressal to you, it reads:
Well...it took me a while, but I finally figured out who you are. You’re pretty sneaky, you know that? I thought it would be simpler to find you.
But I figured it out at lunch yesterday – I happened to see you writing on a piece of pink paper when you were sitting with your friends. And...well, I was wondering how to answer all of the letters, and then I just thought: “Why not turn the tables?”.
First of all, I just want to say that, while I was a little skeptical at first (I thought that it might have been a prank), I really appreciate you taking the time to write these and put them into my locker every morning. These past few weeks have been tough – you know, bullying, plus tests and stuff – but your letters have helped me face the day. I started to look forward to them, all while wondering who you were...
...and now that I know, it’s made me realize that I want to get to know you.
We have a few classes together. I know you’re really smart and kind. And pretty. But I don’t know much else.
So, let’s change that.
Look behind you!
Sincerely,
Lloyd
Your eyes widen, cheeks burning as you swivel around to face none other than Lloyd himself.
You squeak, somewhat startled as you clutch the letter to your chest.
“Oh, I’m sorry! I, um...I didn’t mean to scare you,” he notes, rubbing the back of his neck as he averts his gaze.
“No, it’s o-okay!” you stutter. “I’m just...well, kind of flustered, I guess. I never thought that this would actually happen.”
“You certainly didn’t make it easy,” Lloyd jokes, chuckling as he rubs the back of his neck. “So...want to go get coffee sometime? I mean, only if you’re able! And, if you want to...”
“I would love to,” you mumble, smiling softly as your heart races.
“Can you come now? I know there’s a cafe nearby,” Lloyd invites.
“Sure! Just let me get my bag.”
With that, the two of you head towards the café together, not knowing that this is the start of something wonderful.

[12:32am]
a/n; just a cute platonic fic before i wonder for another hour if i decide to write something else or not. im reading through the u20 v bllk arc (i think im like halfway through) im like, i could write some good shit with this rq. someone probably wrote something like already potentially but it's rotting my brain rn so. this is totally ooc for rin probably im so sorry
also small bachira mom cameo slay
[platonic] [younger sibling! reader]
Tumblr media
your brothers.. are cool.
rin and sae, your big older brothers who loved playing soccer. you watched them play everyday and they always looked like superheroes in your young eyes.
you grow up alongside them, just a year or two younger as you try to find what you want to do. do you want to win with them? do you want to live a peaceful life?
what do you want to do?
you don't know. you're lost without the guidance you wanted. you've been watching your brothers all this time that you lost track of yourself.
you come to realize that what rin talks about.. rings true for you as well.
that sae is just so far away from you both. but you feel far from rin too.
when did that happen?
you can only watch as your brothers fight in a colosseum called soccer where everyone in the audience is thirsty for a fight. where the new recruits meet the pro gladiators and then the pros crush them under their experienced swords and chains.
but this was different. you could feel it in the intense air. you were not even close in terms of seating to see your brothers. even with the seat you were offered from a really nice lady, you could barely see them. but you know that chilling air anywhere.
it felt like you were back in that school field with your brothers again. when he came back home from spain.
everything cracked.
"get lost rin. you're not necessary in my life anymore."
you watched as your brothers broke everything you believed in. how you three would stay together, how you would be there to cheer them on every match you could, how you would happy with them by your side.
your parents weren't even here to see the destruction they caused. the absolute pain they unintentionally inflicted on the three itoshi siblings. you came here on a whim, you wish you could say.
if you were really being honest, you really missed them. sae was always busy, and rin was in blue lock the whole time. so that left you alone.
"are you here with your family, dear? where are they?" that nice woman from before sits beside you, worried that you're all alone in this stadium.
"n-no. i'm alone." you're flustered by the sudden attention from her. "i'm here to.." you paused for a moment, "..to support my brothers."
"oh! that's so sweet! i'm supporting my own son! your brothers must be really good as well."
when was the last time you felt warm like this?
from just a simple talk with a lovely mother has you boiling with pain and longing.
why couldn't you feel this warmth with your family?
"yeah." you nodded curtly.
Tumblr media
when the timer ticks down, you watch with dull eyes as rin and sae fight on the field again. you almost thought they would get cards for how aggressive this was. and before you know it.
blue lock wins.
and you don't know how to feel.
you saw the monster that rin was, tearing every person apart against their strongest assets. and you saw the monster that sae was, constantly calculating his way to win optimally.
today was the day that rin finally beat him.
and today was the day soccer changed japan.
the two week rest was now given to the blue lock members, and you haven't seen much of rin. that still hurt.
but you did catch him one day.
"rin.." you encounter him on a late night, hearing a set of heavy footsteps before you went to bed. "rin." you don't address him as your brother anymore. you wonder when you started making that habit.
"what?"
"you did well." you don't know what to say when you finally manage to have a chance at a proper talk with at least one of your brothers. he scoffs at your weak voice but you continue, "i saw everything. i attended the match."
"then you should know that i didn't do enough."
"i don't think like you and sae, i don't know as much as you two do-"
"i'm still far away from him now." you stay silent as he trembles with frustration and anger. "i'm gonna beat him and that stupid isagi.. "
your mouth is dry with confusion. you can't find it in you to talk to him like you once did as a kid. but you manage, "does this mean i'm gonna be alone again?"
it's his turn to go silent. his back faces you while he stares at his bedroom door.
"how long am i gonna be alone again?" you ask.
"until i beat our good for nothing shitty brother and that idiot isagi."
".. okay." you reach to open your bedroom door, "when you see sae again, tell him i said hi. i miss seeing you and sae." you confess.
"i don't understand how you miss him."
"the same way i miss you." you open your door, looking out at your bland bedroom. not a single trophy seen, not a single sign of any sports prowess, nothing that defined you. "you're both too far away from me. and i can't catch up." you sigh. "i'm just the talentless third kid after all."
"with that attitude, you deserve it." he opens his bedroom door and it's the complete opposite of yours. littered with awards and trophies and a single photo frame of the last time you've seen rin and sae happy.
"i know."

A/N: I am so sorry for my absence! I wish I have a good excuse for being absent, but the truth is I'm not doing so hot in the real world rn. My job is cutting back hours and I barely have enough for rent. I'm getting a second job next month so hopefully, things smoothen out.
Here is the long-awaited update that I will kick myself for delaying in exchange for obsessively crying over Good Omens Season 2. Let the montage of Awa'atlu life commence! Again, thank you for your patience and I hope you enjoy!
Note: The title is named after the Phil Collins song "Strangers Like Me" because Tarzan and Avatar just go together XD

To avoid having Ronal hunt her down again, Kayla got up earlier the next morning and made her way back to the village to join her brother's family for breakfast before her lessons. Kiri was definitely doing better and Tuk was excited that her aunt had decided to see them off before their busy days. After pleasant conversations and the promise to meet before their midday meal, the kids took off to pursue whatever they planned for the day. Kayla stood up with the intention of going to find either the tsahik or the olo'eyktan and so Jake walked her out of the marui as they talked.
"So Neteyam mentioned that you guys talked about what happened between Lo'ak and Ao'nung," Jake started off.
'Oh, boy, here we go,' Kayla thought as she tilted her head to glance back at him, feigning partial innocence, "Yes? What about it?"
"Nothing, I just wanted to let you know that it's already been handled, and it sounds like the boys are actually getting along now. Neteyam also mentioned that you didn't get to meet Ao'nung yesterday so I wanted to make sure you knew this before you went looking for a fight with the kid."
"Jake, how young do you think I am?" When his face twisted with hesitance, she rolled her eyes, "Don't answer that. What I'm trying to say is that I'm not a child, I'm older than I look, and believe it or not, I do realize this. You don't have to worry about me... but you could've been a little nicer to Lo'ak."
Jake refrained from also rolling his eyes, knowing his sister would say this. He wasn't blind. He was well aware that Kayla would always be quick to defend his youngest son, no matter what he did. Jake was half-convinced that Lo'ak could get away with murder as far as his aunt was concerned, "He knew he wasn't allowed to go beyond the reef but he went anyway. He was at fault as much as Ao'nung."
"I get that, but it feels as though Lo'ak received more punishment than the boys who actually put him in danger, and for what?"
"For picking fights."
"No, for defending his sister," her eyes narrowed, "Not that you would know what that means."
Jake took the verbal lashing in stride, internally sighing, "I can't punish the chief's son for what he does against my kids, Kayla."
At first, Kayla had every intention of cursing her brother out, but instead paused and tried rephrasing her response. Her eyes drifted to the reef while she recalled far-off memories, "I remember Mom and Dad were allowed to punish the neighbor kids if they misbehaved with us and no one would bat an eye."
The mention of his old life irked him, and he wasn't afraid to show that in his deep snarl, "Well, Mom and Dad aren't here and we're not on Earth," her posture visibly stiffens but doesn't interrupt. Jake's wave of anger is immediately replaced with guilt, so he opts in taking a breath before he could say anything else he might come to regret, "Things are different here. So be civil and keep the peace. Don't go picking fights with teenagers."
"I won't," she mutters darkly, the coldness in her eyes returning as she side-eyes him, reminding Jake that he still wasn't out of the storm regarding her, "That's what you're here for."
She doesn't stay long enough to hear whatever rebuttal he might have in mind. Instead, she walks down the pathways leading further into the village before calling back, "I'll see you later."
Tail lowered in distress and possibly shame, Jake could only turn back to the marui and try to go about his day as he normally would. He knew he deserved the petty insults and his sister's aggression toward him, especially after all the radio silence she had endured for months while he was here experiencing a new way of life, on top of everything else. He just wished Kayla could manage to let go of all the pain and anger like he did when he first began to learn the ways of the Omatikaya. Physically, Kayla's avatar hasn't changed apart from the new Na'vi trinkets she had added to her standard-issued cargo shorts and crop top. However, Jake had hoped her mentality toward him would change the more she learned how to be Na'vi.
He knew he was a fool to get his hopes up so soon.
Walking through the village, Kayla went down the same route Ronal had brought her yesterday, hoping she would catch sight of the tsahik. Again, there were some stares from the Metkayina, but they didn't last as long as the day before and the reef people didn't look as bothered by her appearance. The Na'vi go about their day without much acknowledgment to Kayla, and before she knew it, she had made it to her destination, the craft huts she had met Tsireya just the other day.
It wasn't hard to find Ronal among the crowd of mottled skin patterns. Her accessories, tattoos, and rounded stomach are a dead giveaway, and the tsahik easily found Kayla in the crowd in turn, though it wasn't as hard, given the circumstances. Ronal's eyes visibly squint when her gaze lands on Kayla, then the Na'vi woman pulls away from her task to rise and meet the avatar. Another Na'vi stands to join her, a teenage boy and Kayla had an inkling who it was.
When Ronal approached Kayla, she motioned to the boy behind her, "My son, Ao'nung."
Smiling timidly, Kayla greets Ao'nung as respectfully as possible, though even she could admit her smile was tighter than usual. Ao'nung didn't say a word back, instead deciding to simply nod and avoid eye contact. His ears drooped and his head lowered like this was torture for him. Clearly, he was being coerced into being here with Kayla, but she decided not to fault him for it. Perhaps he's already being punished enough for his wrongdoings that he didn't need Kayla to torture him further about it.
Ronal doesn't appear to notice nor care for Ao'nung's discomfort and sternly stated to Kayla, "We will be teaching you how to communicate underwater. Do not fall behind or you will be left behind."
Kayla refrains from the small smile that threatened to escape her. Ronal's words vaguely reminded her of Neytiri's way of teaching Jake both from the stories she heard and the video log Jake had recorded. As Jake had once phrased it, 'Learn fast or die.'
With that in mind, Kayla doesn't complain and silently follows Ronal and Ao'nung away from the craft huts and further down the pathways. It didn't take long before they brought their guest to a large marui. It wasn't as big as the communal pod for the feasts, but it was significantly taller and wider than the normal ones Kayla has seen, including the Sullys' marui. She took note of the different colors of weaving and decorations adorning the home, such as the totem and skimwing skull hanging over the front entrance in greeting, a small windchime of shells softly dancing in the warm breeze. If Kayla had to guess, this was the olo'eyktan and tsahik's pod. Soon after stepping inside, both Ronal and Ao'nung lower to the ground, sitting back on their legs and Kayla does the same, proceeding to listen as Ronal starts off the lesson.
Nothing eventful happened as Kayla learned the Metkayina equivalent of sign language. Ao'nung never said a word regarding Lo'ak or any incident that happened with Kayla's nieces and nephews prior to her arrival. In fact, Ao'nung didn't say a whole lot other than chiming in a time or two to help Kayla with the lesson. Perhaps he never said a word outside of the subject of his people's sign language because his mother had been giving him sharp looks throughout the whole lesson. It was hard to miss. Ronal wasn't exactly a subtle creature. She openly expressed whatever she was feeling, unafraid of hurting someone's feelings, not even her son's, it would seem.
It was amusing to find all the similarities between the mother and son, both physically and spiritually. Their glare, eyes, and even their pout were the same. Kayla even dared herself to look a little closer without getting caught and noticed that Ao'nung inherited the same mole as his mother's, both spots found above their lip, on the top right side.
She must have lost track in time as the suns rose higher in the sky. Before she knew it, her next teacher had shown up to take her to her next destination. Tonowari stepped up into the marui, his large frame blocking the majority of the light coming in through the entryway. His gaze brushes over Kayla and Ao'nung before his eyes land on the tsahik, "Ma Ronal. Is this a good time?"
One of Kayla's ear flick to the side at the term of endearment, glancing over to the woman in question who only firmly nods and stares back at Kayla, "Go on. My mate will continue your riding lessons from yesterday."
Kayla mutters her thanks and stands up to join Tonowari. As they turn toward the exit, the olo'eyktan points back to his son, "Ao'nung. Remain with your mother."
"But, Father--"
"Do not question me, boy," the tone in Tonowari's voice was a little louder and stronger than normal, and even Kayla could feel her spine straightening up, despite not being under his scrutiny. Kayla briefly glances back at Ao'nung and notes the way he shrinks in on himself, still unable to look her in the eye, clearly embarrassed. Kayla looks away and follows Tonowari out of the marui, shadowing his footsteps as he addresses her, "I apologize for my son."
For the moment, Kayla had the empathy to pity the teenager and decided to soften the blow against Ao'nung, "There's nothing to apologize for. He was a pleasant enough teacher."
His voice had reverted back to its normal tone, significantly smoother and kinder on the ears, "Did you learn well?"
"I think so. It's not that different compared to what the Sky People have," when he flashed a questioning glance over his shoulder at her, she further explained, "They have a language that requires hand motions, too."
He doesn't question it further, instead looking back ahead and leading Kayla down to the docks. The ilu anxiously await their arrival in the water below, clicking and calling excitedly as Tonowari pulls a harness over one of their heads. The two adults get into the water and stand beside the earnest ilu, Tonowari trying to calm the creature whilst Kayla makes tsaheylu. She mounts the creature with ease, remembering yesterday's lesson and dreading the idea of falling off again as Tonowari begins reassuring her, "You need to exude confidence. Tell the ilu that you will command them and you will be respected by them. Do not give them space to come up with their own ideas."
She takes a few deep breaths to calm her nerves and nodded, waiting until Tonowari steps away before commanding the ilu to move forward using only the bond connecting them to each other's thoughts. The creature obliges and all appears to be going smoothly. Kayla manages to instruct the ilu to swim faster before eventually sinking underneath the water's surface. The ilu picks up speed and even as she clings on for dear life, Kayla could already feel her grip loosening. Angry and determined, Kayla tightens her thighs around the saddle of the creature and demands her bonded steed to leap out of the water and let her breathe, no room for nonsense.
To her shock and delight, the ilu chirped happily and sprung out of the water like a bullet, briefly flying through the air and allowing Kayla to take a breath before diving back in. She was so shocked that she almost lost her grip before regaining composure and asking the ilu to do it again, in case she had only imagined her success. The ilu was ecstatic to leap out of the water again and did so without a fuss, and this time, Kayla laughed as the shock wore off.
On the surface, the woman is met with a small audience. Lo'ak, Neteyam, and Tsireya were out riding their own respective ilu that afternoon before briefly pausing to watch a school of fish swim all around them, tickling their feet. Just as Kayla appeared to finally be getting the hang of riding an ilu, the teenagers caught notice of her as well. Lo'ak is the first to spot her, cupping his hands over his mouth as he crows in encouragement, "Go, Auntie! Woo-hoo! Yeah! You got it!"
Kayla laughs as Neteyam and Tesireya begin to cheer her on as well, their voices carried by the winds as Kayla and her ilu dive into the water and back out again. By the time Kayla remembered herself and returned to her teacher, Tonowari had his arms crossed but otherwise appeared pleased by her improvement, tail leisurely swaying behind him with curiosity.
~~~~~~~~~
Weeks go by since Kayla first arrived in Awa'atlu, and despite having to adapt to yet another completely different culture, Kayla had to admit that it was getting easier as time went on. She originally thought the ways of the Metkayina were a cakewalk compared to the Omatikaya, but maybe it was because she learned from the Forest People first that made learning from the Reef People easier than she originally thought it would.
She makes sure to reiterate this to Norm and the other humans every time she sees them. When everyone in Awa'atlu is meant to be resting, Kayla retreats to her campsite and secures her avatar form before closing her eyes and breaking the neural link. The next time she opens her eyes, it's within the link gurney back at High Camp.  Norm and Max are always there to greet her, asking about her headaches and other health problems. There were days even Kayla had to admit were rough. After spending so much time in her avatar form, it's starting to strain the link connecting herself to her human form and it causes massive headaches every time she breaks a new record of not reporting back for days on end. To distract her friends from lecturing her, Kayla just updates everyone on Kiri's condition and relays any messages Jake or the rest of the Sully family wanted her to bring. In return, the scientists or even the Na'vi, such as Txe'la and Meui, would update her on any information regarding Ardmore or any Sky People activity.
She's always left disappointed when they say the same thing. No one has seen Spider.
Trying not to let the news discourage her, Kayla always wakes back up in her avatar form in better spirits so as not to worry Jake and his family. Kayla continues to treat the days as normal, continuing her lessons and helping out in any way she can so as not to overstay her welcome. When she wasn't following Tonowari or Ronal around, Kayla was usually in the company of her nieces, nephews, and their new friends.
Tsireya was one of those friends, and she was such a sweet girl who would happily entertain Kayla in any endeavor. When she wasn't busy, one of Kayla's favorite pastimes was helping Tuk and Tsireya find seashells for their hair and any jewelry idea they had in mind. Tsireya, as Tuk said, knew all the best spots where the shells were always fully intact and not crushed into pieces by the harsh tides. During these little adventures, Kayla, Tuk, and Tsireya would learn more about each other, bonding over the fact that they were all their families' younger sisters.
The sign language was easier than the verbal language, but Kayla felt as though she had a rug pulled from beneath her feet when Ronal knowingly stated that she was going to be teaching her student a third language. The tsahik, with the help of other Metkayina, began to teach Kayla the language of the tulkun, the sea creature Kayla learned to be the spiritual animal and companion to the Reef People, as the ikran is to Forest People. Apparently, not even Kayla's nieces and nephews have progressed as far as learning the tulkun language yet, and they became ecstatic to realize that they would be learning this alongside their aunt. Joining Ronal in these lessons with Kayla and the Sully kids would also be Tsireya and Rotxo, which only excited the forest kids more. Ronal wasn't as pleased with her own student when she caught Kayla fondly watching the children interact more than once.
Kayla had to learn this extra language on top of her breathing lessons, the latter of which was taught by both Tonowari and Ronal. Sometimes they would teach her separately, and other times they would do so together, but whatever the case may be, it didn't matter to Kayla. She would carefully listen to whoever was teaching her, and sometimes she listened so intently that she caught herself observing her teachers a little too closely.
Like Tonowari's eyes for example. Kayla noted they were a light blue at first as she sat cross-legged across from him while they practiced breathing exercises. But upon closer inspection, Kayla noticed specks of green engulfed by those blue orbs, like clumps of islands surrounded by warm sparkling oceans.
He was a clenched fist with a gentle touch. Kayla greatly admired him for being someone who could easily take advantage of his strength and position above his people but chooses to be kind and soft-spoken instead.
 It was fascinating for Kayla to see just how different the Metkayinas' eyes were compared to the Omatikayas'. Whereas every Na'vi of the Forest had orange or yellow cat-like eyes, the ones who live off of the reef had rounder and bigger eyes, not to mention they had a variety of different shapes, sizes, and colors.
Like Ronal's eyes. The opposite of her mate's, Kayla noted that Ronal's eyes were more green than blue, with specks of a warm, gold color, like a sunset reflecting off the ocean surface.
She was orphic, but that's as far as Kayla allowed herself to describe the tsahik.
There was plenty to say about Ronal, but Kayla thought it best not to linger on any of the words bouncing around in her head. It was clear to her that the tsahik will always disapprove of Kayla and her presence among the Metkayina, so Kayla didn't want to compliment the Na'vi woman too much, especially since she doesn't intend on staying for very long.
Her stay was still very much temporary, at least in Kayla's eyes, as she still intends on going back to the forest to find Spider. For now, however, she was content with her small campsite just inside the treeline of the Metkayina island, a campsite that Ronal appears to disapprove of along with everything else about Kayla. The tsahik still has to occasionally venture out and find Kayla among the trees if she is in need of the avatar woman, like today when Ronal had the mind to take the time to find Kayla. It wasn't hard since the demon had kept her promise and never moved her campsite so she would be right where Ronal could find her. Still, Kayla was apologetic when Ronal found her and the tsahik begrudgingly told the foreigner to follow her back to the village.
Ronal brings her to the shoreline and recruits her to help fix an ilu pen that had begun to wither with age. Tonowari was already hard at work on it and briefly looked up to greet the two women when they sat down on the edge of the pathway and gracefully slipped into the water with him. After a brief instruction from him, Kayla gets to work in silence, and Ronal isn't opposed to doing the same. The silence wasn't as awkward as they were in the past, but out of the corner of her eye, Kayla could clearly see that something was bothering the tsahik, as Ronal wasn't ashamed of openly frowning while watching Kayla work. She didn't appear to be glaring in disapproval, but she looked... frustrated. It was as if she was trying to figure out a complicated puzzle. Kayla briefly glanced at the Na'vi positioned on the other side of her and noticed that Tonowari was much more subtle than his mate. Unlike Ronal, he only snuck glances at Kayla and her work here and there and did his best to hide whatever expression was on his face.
"Am I doing it wrong?"
"No. You're doing well," a compliment was not what she was expecting and it shows as Kayla's ears perk up and her eyes briefly widen. Ronal pointedly ignores the reaction and blatantly asks, "Why do you not stay with your brother's family at night?"
Kayla looked at Ronal, nose scrunched slightly in confusion, all the while completely unaware of the stare Tonowari sent to his mate from above Kayla's head, "Why would I?"
"Group sleep is also customary in the Metkayina."
"What's a group sleep?"
By Eywa, did the Omatikaya teach this alien woman anything? Ronal huffs out an irritated sigh, "Families sleep in large groups, usually in their swaynivi. Some clan members will sleep alone or with their mate just as long as they return to their family's nivi in a short period of time. Otherwise, they're deemed spiritually unhealthy. It is unsafe for one to sleep alone."
"I see," Kayla's ears pin back and her posture straightens, understanding the question now while pointedly staring down at her work on weaving the ilu pen together instead of addressing Ronal, "Well, where I'm from, that's called an invasion of privacy. I would assume that the families who sleep in large groups mostly contain parents and their children, correct?"
She doesn't wait for a response as she further explains with a small distaste in her mouth, "Since I'm neither of those, I don't want to invade my brother's and his children's privacy. Thank you for your concern, but I've been alone for a very long time. I can assure you that I am just fine with the sleeping arrangements I have now."
Even Ronal can sense a dismissal when she hears it in Kayla's voice. It was clear that the alien woman didn't want to further discuss this topic and so the tsahik didn't push it. Returning to her work, Ronal now briefly shared a glance with Tonowari but he pointedly kept his mouth closed during the whole conversation and after.
Luckily, the silence is saved by Neteyam as the teenager arrives with a purpose, slightly bouncing over the pathways above the adults' heads, "Auntie. My father is looking for you."
Kayla's discomfort visibly melts before Tonowari and Ronal's eyes. She looks up and smiles at the Na'vi boy, "Tell your father he can come and get me himself next time instead of sending you out. You should be elsewhere, enjoying the reefs and hunting with your friends."
She briefly turned back to the clan leaders, silently asking for approval to leave with her eyes flicking between the two Metkayina. Both nodded and openly watch as Kayla turns back to Neteyam, smiling up at her nephew as she rises up onto the pathway and follows him out, gently shoving him once to get him to pick up the pace so she didn't trip on his heels.
Neteyam huffed a small laugh as they walked, but the sound falls in replace of shame. He was visibly acting a little shy as he avoided eye contact, "I am sorry that I told my father about our conversation. I should have asked for your permission."
"Hey, no harm," she nudged him, "It's not like our talks are meant to be a secret or anything. It's nice that you can trust your father with everything; trust him enough to talk about whatever you want. As long as you're comfortable, kiddo."
"Was your father not like that?"
Kayla bit her tongue to refrain from visibly wincing, staring directly ahead instead of at her nephew, "No. I don't think he was. Not from what I can remember. Mostly I relied on Tommy and your dad growing up."
"What was my father like as an older brother? Am I like him?"
Kayla briefly grew quiet as they walked, pondering about how she could best word this to her oldest nephew. She tried seeing Jake in Neteyam, she really did, but whenever she tried comparing the teenager's best traits, they only remind her of Neytiri. And when Kayla thinks about Jake, all the pain and other torture he had put her through both intentionally and by accident, she couldn't even fathom Neteyam doing the same thing to his own siblings. Physically and mentally, deep down she knew that Neteyam was nothing like his father, and she was secretly grateful for that.
So instead of agreeing, Kayla simply smiled while staring the teenager in the eyes so he could see her sincerity, "No, 'Teyam. You're like Tommy. He was the older brother. When it comes to how you treat your siblings, you remind me of him, and I think your father sees it, too."
When Ronal isn't busy with her duties as tsahik or teaching Kayla, she is making sure Neytiri also adapts to their way of life. Although the former tsakarem had been comfortably accustomed to island life by the time her sister-in-law joined her family, Ronal still takes Neytiri into the jungle for a second pair of hands to gather the needed plants and herbs for her stock. Today was no different as the two women stumbled across a large jungle tree, larger than any of the others around them. Instead of following Ronal's suggestion to skip this tree and its healing fruits in exchange for a shorter one, Neytiri stops and shakes her head. Ronal was adamant about moving on since she was in no condition to climb and wasn't built to climb trees even if she wasn't currently pregnant.
Neytiri still shook her head in defiance and simply said, "You need Forest People."
The Forest woman opens her mouth and calls out at the top of her lungs, causing Ronal's ears to twitch in response to her whooping and cawing. Notifying her family about her location, it didn't take long for Jake, Kayla, and all the Sully children to come running to Neytiri's call.
Neytiri proudly smiles at her family while explaining why they had been summoned, "Our tsahik needs the fruit from the top of this tree and the ones surrounding it."
The others take a moment to look at one another before Kayla breaks the silence, briefly tapping Tuk's shoulder before running off, "'Last one to the top is a rotten egg!"
Tuk squeals and immediately chases after her aunt. The older Sully kids smile and break into fits of laughter, following suit and running after Kayla and their little sister. They all leap up, grabbing onto the lower branches before lifting themselves up, climbing expertly higher without their arms protesting the weight of their bodies. Ronal watched them climb higher and higher, keeping her expression stoic while observing the way Kayla makes the collecting and scavenging into a game for her nieces and nephews, challenging them to see who can gather the most fruit. In the corner of her eye, Ronal could still see Neytiri standing beside her, also watching the trees and smiling fondly up at her family. Jake soon stands beside his wife, hands on his hips while watching his sister and his children with a careful eye.
It was then did Ronal address Toruk Makto directly, flashing a face of disapproval, "Does your sister always act so childish?"
Jake's posture stiffens and he struggles to find the right words under the tsahik's watchful eye, "Well-! Uh..."
"No, only with the children," Neytiri answers for him, eyes hardened when they meet Ronal's as if daring her to speak again, "She plays with them because she wants to remind them that they are still just that. Children."
~~~~~~~~~
Kiri woke up bothered about something and everyone could tell. That girl didn't know how to hide her feelings no matter how badly she wanted to, the definition of an open book. Even though no one knew why she was upset, they could clearly tell that whatever it was, it had something to do with her aunt. Kiri wasn't necessarily cold to Kayla, but the teenager would go quiet and only speak in one-word responses whenever the older woman spoke directly to her.
Kayla decided that she needed to fix whatever was going on between herself and her oldest niece, so she offered to take the children out as the afternoon slipped into the evening. Neytiri suggested bringing them swimming through the reefs to collect barnacles and other underwater plants for tonight's supper, a passing time a lot of the villagers tend to do. Kayla takes up the idea and presents it to the Sully kids, who all agree to go, some more enthusiastic than others.
Tuk immediately splashes into the water and her brothers chase after her. Meanwhile, Kayla and Kiri linger on the beach, watching them disappear into the ocean. Kayla had tried breaking the tension with a small smile, "So when are you gonna show me how to use those underwater fairy wings?"
She was hoping for a small laugh or even a smile, but Kiri does neither. Instead, she looks sad and distracted, looking out over the horizon where the sky meets the sea, daydreaming of other lands... of home. Kayla bravely touches the girl's shoulder, and when Kiri looks up, her aunt could see the concern plain on her face. The avatar woman squeezes Kiri's shoulder, "What is it?"
Kiri bites the inside of her cheek before giving in, letting out a small sigh, "When are you going back to the forest?" She quickly understands how that could easily be misinterpreted and corrects herself, "It's just that-- you promised you'd look for Spider. And yet, you're here and he still hasn't been found yet."
Kayla relaxes both in posture and touch, removing her hand from Kiri's shoulder and instead letting it fall to her side, "I'll likely be gone by the end of the week, but for Norm's peace of mind, I'm going to be running a few tests on you so he and I both know you'll be okay," silence follows and Kayla reaches out once more, letting her hand gently grasp Kiri's arm, "Kiri, look at me."
The teen does so, a little belligerent at first. Upon staring up at her aunt, Kiri could see the determination in her eyes that closely matched Kiri's father's. Kayla tilts her head down to try and stand more at Kiri's height before softly explaining, "I haven't given up. And you might find it pointless to keep an eye on you after what happened, but I don't, and I don't think Spider would either. Think about it, kiddo. Spider would want us to make sure you're alright before we ever went looking for him."
Kiri ducks her head and watches her toe make shapes in the sand beneath her feet, "I know... but that doesn't mean I have to like it. He deserves to be put first for once."
Silence lingers between the two of them before Kayla simply says, "You're right."
Kiri doesn't wanna look up to see whatever expression was on her aunt's face. Instead, Kiri takes her arm and drags her to the water, "Come."
"'Where we going?"
"You said you wanted to learn how to use a txampaysye."
Kayla's nose scrunched up, testing the word on her tongue with bitterness, "How do you even spell that??"
Kiri manages to loosen up and laugh before they both held their breath and sank down into the water, sinking until they joined the rest of the Sully children. They introduce Kayla to txampaysye -gill mantle- and instruct her on how to use it in order to breathe underwater. Kayla wasn't far off. The gill mantles really did look like fairy wings, but other than maybe a few comments or stories, none of the Na'vi children would know what exactly a fairy was. The children and their aunt spend the evening doing as Neytiri suggested, gathering underwater plants and barnacles alongside other Metkayina, most of whom all wore the txampaysye. By the time the communal dinner rolled around, the Sully family was exhausted, but content all the same.
~~~~~~~~~
A peaceful morning where the Sullys invite Kayla over for breakfast goes uneventful until they're rolling up their nivi after a good night's rest. Their peace is interrupted by a horn, followed by whoops and hollers of celebration coming from outside. Confused and on edge, Jake and the kids emerge from the marui, looking around as the Metkayina jump around and dive into the water, making the newcomers curious as to what was going on.
Their answer came in the form of Tsireya, astride an ilu as she waved down her people from the water below their homes, "The tulkun have returned! Everybody! Our Brothers and Sisters have returned!"
Kayla looked up toward the atoll wall protecting the village from less docile nature. Emerging from the tunnels and pathways underneath the wall were rolling waves indicating something large below the water. Spurts of seaspray spring out like geysers from beneath the ocean's surface. It was a large pod of whale-like creatures, massive and slow. Their descent onto the village was graceful and one that brought much joy to the Metkayina as they couldn't get in the water fast enough.
The Sully kids couldn't wait either, jumping from the walkway around their home and into the water below. They scatter, exploring the new creatures one way or another. Tsireya had grabbed Lo'ak when she spotted him and pulled him onto her ilu, swimming away to introduce him to her Spirit Sister. Jake summoned his tsurak and both he and Neytiri take off to observe the sacred animals themselves. Rotxo had come around and pulled Kiri and Tuk away too, leaving Neteyam and Kayla to wander. Ao'nung was not far behind his friend, however, and invited Neteyam to come along with him to find his own Spirit Brother. Earning a small reassurance from his aunt, Neteyam doesn't hesitate to jump in and both teenagers each grab an ilu and take off, making a game of chase with Ao'nung in the lead.
Neteyam kept close to Ao'nung the entire time. The chief's son leads Neteyam through the chaos expertly, the two of them swimming quickly around a particular tulkun. Kiri, Tuk, and Rotxo were hanging onto the bull's fin and gliding peacefully through the water, the tulkun likely the reef boy's Spirit Brother. Neteyam was only able to catch a glimpse of this as they swim by, keeping close to Ao'nung's tail and playfully chasing him.
Jake had been leisurely swimming his skimwing through the maze of tulkun and Metkayina before glancing off to the side and perking up. Reaching back and tapping Neytiri's thigh to grab her attention, he waits until her eyes are on him before pointing out the sight he stumbled across. Following her husband's gaze and finger, Neytiri spots a mother tulkun and her calf, the smaller whale-like creature keeping close, mostly under its mother's fin or belly. Neytiri smiled with delight, her heart melting at the picture.
Kayla had been floating above the surface, watching the vast sight of tulkun from up top the back of an ilu she had successfully summoned. She didn't venture very far until the olo'eyktan sought her out. She noticed his tsurak first, flying above her head before gracefully sinking into the water, folding in its webbed fins. Tonowari brings it back around and swims up to Kayla's side, a determined smile on his lips, "We must put all that you learned to the test. Come meet my Spirit Brother and see how well you can understand and communicate with him."
She nods and dutifully follows him into the water after taking a deep breath. They submerge and take off, weaving through and around the large bodies of tulkun, dodging other ilu and Na'vi while Tonowari keeps his pace slow for Kayla's ilu to catch up. Underwater, Kayla can get a better look at the tulkun, and to her amazement, she realized that most of them were tattooed like their respective Na'vi. Eventually, they come across a large bull and Tonowari slows to a complete stop, disengaging from his tsurak and openly swimming the rest of the way to the heavily tattooed tulkun male. Kayla disengages from her ilu and watches it swim away before swimming in the same direction as the olo'eyktan, keeping a small bit of distance while he approaches the tulkun, greeting it like an old friend with a wide smile before gesturing Kayla to come closer.
When Kayla swims close enough to float near the large eye of the creature, Tonowari motions to the bull and makes rapid hand movements, "This Makayla te Suli tsmuke te Toruk Makto. She is of the Forest People and has come to learn our ways."
"Greetings, Makayla te Suli." The tulkun sings, and Kayla is delighted that she can understand him.
She quickly signs back, just as she had practiced, "I See you, great and mighty tulkun."
"Have you learned much since your arrival?"
"Yes, many things. I have excellent teachers in the olo'eyktan and the tsahik."
"Indeed. You are in good hands with my Brother and his mate. Ro'a speaks highly of her."
Curious, Kayla turns to the olo'eyktan in question, hands slowed by the water as she asks through the Metkayina sign language, "Is Ro'a Ronal's Spirit Sister?"
Tonowari nods while further explaining with his hands, "Yes, and I believe Ro'a has just given birth to her first calf."
"Indeed." The tulkun calls softly, the beautiful sound muffled in Kayla's ears like a song trying to pierce through cotton, "We are very proud and happy for our sister. What of Ronal's child?"
Tonowari beams, "Growing fast. Halfway there."
Kayla faintly smiles as her lungs begin to faintly burn, then quickly makes the appropriate hand motions to signal, "Forgive me. I need air."
She tilts her head upward and kicks her arms and legs to plunge up to the surface. Kayla immediately gasps for air the moment her head broke through the ocean waves, taking deep and calm breaths while looking around at all the joyous reunions going on around her. Laughter and cheers are still clinging to the approaching afternoon air, not a single Metkayina worried about the day's chores as they are too busy reacquainting themselves with their Spirit Brothers and Sisters. Kayla fondly watched these interactions, her heart warm and yet... sad as she watched the Na'vi swim around her without a care in the world. It's not as though she expected anyone to notice her, but it was a brief realization that today she was invisible and an outcast compared to these beautiful tulkun creatures. It was just another reminder that she didn't belong here and she had no Spirit Sister of her own, feeling out of place among an entire lagoon full of tulkun, Na'vi, tsurak, ilu, and other aquatic creatures.
Once she caught her breath, Kayla inhaled deeply and stuck her face back into the water to check out the activity going on beneath her treading feet. Looking around, she managed to catch a glimpse of a familiar Na'vi, a woman, adamantly communicating with her hands toward another tulkun, a female and her calf. Kayla recognized Ronal's ornaments that expressed her importance among the other Metkayina, along with her rounded belly. Without those traits, however, Kayla wouldn't have recognized her because the tsahik was smiling, broadly, unbothered by anything going on around her as she spoke to what had to be her Spirit Sister, Ro'a.
In all the weeks Kayla had been living here, she had never seen Ronal smile, let alone smile like that.
♧♣︎♧
Rhaenyra Targaryen was in no state of panic or upset when his son had entered her chambers, answering her call. They both had known what she called him for, therefore both sides were more prepared and rational. The princess was standing by her window, watching Lucerys and Rhaena practicing their sword fighting. She remembered how worried she was when the two sisters voiced their want of being included with the same fighting curriculum as their men. But Daemon beamed at the idea and granted permission. My daughters will not be weak, They shall be as good as me in swordsmanship by the gods’ will. Those were his words. And so they were.
“You called, mother?” The prince spoke after a minute of silence watching her gaze out the window.
Rhaenyra snaps out of herself and turns to her eldest son. “Jacaerys, have you eaten?” The mother in her acquires first. He hummed positively before taking a seat on the long chair. “That’s all well. I wanted to ask you of your aunt.” She states. “The two of you have grown close since the feast- do not deny it.” She shushes him when he opened his mouth to interject.
“I am not upset, we’re not in Driftmark nor Kingslanding, so I doubt there’ll be any rumours brought up from it. And that is not my current concern, no. My concern is on how she fares so far. That girl smiles and bows all the time, you can’t really tell if she’s genuinely comfortable most of the time.”
“She’s fine, I think.” The prince answers simply, receiving a raised brow from his mother. "Well, It’s not like she speaks.” He lies.
“But, she does seem quite excited for a tour here. I’m sure she’’ll find our library to her liking, Rhaena mentioned she likes to read.” The blonde woman smiled in relief of that. “Oh how nice, Perhaps you and your brother could take her to night market as well, there’s more sailing boats this season.” She suggests, making him frown. “I thought you said it’s dangerous. What if anyone recognizes us?” Rhaenyra waves her arm in a careless motion as she moves to sit by him. “You’ll be covered up. Besides, it’s a good thing neither of you have my white hair, the streets get so busy at nught, they won’t give you a double glance.” Jace nods understandingly at her words, still confused at her enthusiasm. His mother was never cruel, he knew that. But he also wonders why She’d worry herself over a small matter such as you.
“Is that all?” Rhaenyra gives a resigned sigh before nodding her head, permitting Jace to leave.
The weather had been bleak so far, thunders and thick clouds hiding the sun. If by tonight, the hints of rain doesn’t disappear altogether, the night market trip would have to wait for tomorrow. He knocked on your door and found no reply, which was of course, expected. But after several moments of waiting, he opens the them to find an empty room. The bed was already made and there was no one besides himself. It looks like you have taken it to yourself in making yourself comfortable here. Jacaerys scans the empty halls and corridors for you but receives no luck.
Bumping into Baela, he halts her to ask; “Is there a possibility that you’ve seen our dear guest around, I can’t find her.” He confesses. Baela, with a book of the Valyrian language under her arm, shoots him an amused smile. “She’s playing a boardgame.” He frowns. “Chess?” Baela gives a single nod. “Yes, with my father. So far she’s lost all 3 rounds. You’re welcome to go watch her fail the fourth.” He does just that, entering the library.
He was met with a tense sight of you and Daemon sitting opposite of each other, Rhaena sits close to you. If she’s trying to help you win, her father cares not for it.
The curtains in the library were all pulled open today, something it’s rarely been done. And the stack of books littered on top of shelves and tables everywhere, made it seem more homely than messy somehow.  All three of you are staring down at the board, anticipating your next move, no one notices his entrance. Jacaerys can’t really blame anyone, even he was getting nervous. You lift a pawn, it stands in the air for a second before you gently place it two squares forward near Daemon’s queen.
The prince consort smiles, and everyone groans. “Checkmate.”
“Your best pawns aren’t the usual ones, the knights and the-“ His words were cut off by the loud sound of the pieces smashing onto each other and falling into the ground as you flip the board off, glaring at him. “Alright then, enough board games for today.” Rhaena concludes as her father shrugs nonchalantly. “I told you I’m good.”
Jace’s shoes creaks slightly as he walks closer, drawing the attentions of all 3 people there. “Jacaerys, have you seen your mother? She called for you earlier.” Daemon asks while getting up and moving to his opposite. Jace nods and gives a barely comprehensible answer as the older man leaves the room. He spares him a glance until he’s gone before turning back to you. “No one wins with him, he has the age advantage, been practicing for ages.” The prince attempts to comfort you, ignoring your glowering glare. Rhaena gives up on the comforting as she buries her face on the table, laughing quietly. "Lunch time now, you two hungry?"
The elders had not joined you all for lunch. You’re sat in between Baela and Rhanea with Jacaerys and Lucerys in front of you. You were glad it was Luc that’s facing you. You have feared since last night that if either you or Jace meet eachother’s eyes again, something terrible might occur.
You were born of anxious possibilities. When it’s become your life to go through and witness tragedies repeating themselves, even the smallest of things could trigger the war in your mind. So you keep your eyes down and pretend you can’t see him sneaking glances at you every two seconds, and you pretend that you can’t see Baela noticing him sneaking in glances every two seconds. If you don’t look, and if you don’t react the way they’re both expecting you to, then it’s not your problem. The steak is excellently cooked, the anxious thoughts you bear can’t help getting distracted by this nice meal, and it's special sauce you’ve never had before. But of course, considering that Rhaena who’s next to you, is currently ravaging a salmon fillet, any meal is better than the ones from sea.
“I’ve heard you’ve never seen a dragon up close before?” Jacaerys’ voice fills the silent, snapping you in reality. You’re forced to look at him and shook your head. “Really? What about Vhagar? Mother must’ve taken you on a ride once a while.” Baela asks in disbelief. You gave her a short smile and shook your head again uncomfortably before going back to your steak. “Then I guess we know where the first stop of our tour will be.” He joked and you brave yourself to raise a brow at him.
“You’re giving her a tour? Have you not anything better to do with your time?” Baela scoffs at him, her temper seems fair but eyes bore a challenge. “Would you like to show her around instead?” He answers the question with another. The girl’s eyes relaxes as she scoops her spoon of soup to blow it.
“No, I’m afraid I’ll be occupied for the day.” She drinks up her soup. The steak is really good dipped in blackpepper sauce, you’ve find. You hummed delightfully, dipping another cut piece of it in the sauce. “Here.” Luc passes the sauce closer. You grinned gratefully at him before continuing your meal. Oblivion of the small smile painted on Jacaerys’ face, who’s now no longer eating anymore.
♧♣︎♧
You’ve never told anyone before, but you have met Vhagar before.
A cranky one, the old lady. It was long past midnight, Laena and her husband Daemon along with their children had returned to Driftmark for two moons. You had waited until you were sure the whole place was asleep before sneaking inside the dragonpit. There’s only one dragon available, seeing as Laenor and Rhaenyra were still in Kingslanding.
You’re not sure how the pit had managed to cover her, but with her singular appearance, a space was made big enough for the beast.
You still remember the flick open of vhagar’s large eyes, staring straight into your soul. You had flinched at the singular acknowledgement, standing as far from it as possible without drifting too further that you couldn’t see her. She had not blow fire straight onto your face as expected, in fact, she barely budged. You took it as a sign to get nearer, until you’re inches away from the beast, who had also moved it’s face closer before laying her head down again, eyes remaining open. You stretched an arm towards her, risking spoke at her hard head, receiving a low whine, as if she’s scolding you. You had never pulled your arm back as fast as that moment.
“You can’t tell anyone about this.” You remember telling her. In which she had blinked her eyes slowly at you in response before closing it for good and falling asleep. An understanding was made that night, between two rare animals, often caged against their will.
But that was almost a decade ago.
You’ve heard of Vermax, mostly from Jacaerys himself, telling you stories of his little beasts’ quirks and habits.
“You should stand behind me, He gets protective of me, especially around strangers.”
You knew what he meant, but a laugh almost escapes you, still. You’ve known him for less than a week, but your heart was very sure, that he is no stranger inhabiting there. You only smiled in response, one too bold to reassure him. “I’m serious, my mother and rhaena will kill me if he blows you hair off or something.” You sigh loudly, to show your annoyance before moving to stand beside him.
The two of you walked in a straight line, the prince confident in his steps while you try to ignore the judgmental looks of the other dragons you passed by. You wonder if the dragons ever talk shit about their owners together when everyone is asleep. Too bad you don’t speak their language. Roaring and grunting.
His dragon, conveniently, was in the furthest pit. And as much as you wouldn’t admit I, you were excited to meet Vermax. You’ve only had one sole interaction with a dragon, who’s reaction had been very disappointing. With the speed Jacaerys is walking as he leads, you reach his pit finally. The light from the hanging orbs all over the place had shed onto his face. You nudged Jacaerys aside and let out an audible gasp. Breaking the ‘no talking’ vow you’ve made yourself do earlier that day, you swore under your breath. “He is…small.” The prince snaps his head fiercely to you. “He is growing.” You pursed your lips and nod your head sympathetically.
“Course’ he is.” The dragon groaned loud enough for the two of you to hear, as if defending himself. “No offence.” You mutter to him quickly.
“He is adorable.” You admit, earning more frowns from the rider. “Fierce?” He scoffs at your attempt. “You’re very judgy for someone who’s never seen a dragon up close.” You couldn’t tell him of course, that in comparison to Vhagar, Vermax is unfortunately, very adorable.
“I am impressed.” You tell him as you bent yourself forward to meet the dragon’s sad eyes. “I think you are very mighty, Vermax.” The beast huffs out lazily. “You know I’m surprised he’s barely having a reaction to you, the first time Baela met him, he flinched and ran away, poor boy.” You tilt your head towards Jacaerys, grinning wildly. “He recognizes me as a friend.” He returns the smile. “Maybe.” Perhaps Vermax knew, that we wild creatures must stick together. “He trusts you so easily, one might mistake you as one who shares Valyrian blood.”
You say nothing, smiling softy at the dragon who’s now leaning his head closer to your hand. “Oh, you brat.” Jacaerys chides him, annoyed. You laugh at their antics, It was definitely true though, Vermax seems very young still, you’d bet he’d be as big Caraxes or Meleys in a couple years time.
After a few more pettings and complimenting the dragon, Jacaerys decided it’s time for the touring to continue, parting you away from his baby. “We don’t have all day. If we finish up the castle touring quick, we’d have much more time to rest before tonight.” He explains as the both of you move to exit the dragon pit. “What’s tonight?” He sends a smirk your way, wiggling his brows. “Something more exciting.” You huffed and rolled you eyes, striding beside to him. “All right, keep your secrets.”
He makes a quick tour of the garden, which was much more prettier than you’d expect. Seeing as Rhaenys wasn’t much of garden person, the one in Driftmark was much more underwhelming. He asked you what your favorite flowers, and you had to take a moment to think.
“I don’t know, they’re all pretty.” You said. “So you like them all?” You shrugged, “What’s yours?” You ask him instead, receiving a quick answer. “Hydrangeas. They’re not everyone’s favourite, but they look magical together.” You nod yourself, placing your hand under your chin in a thinking motion. “Then my favorites are also Hydrangeas.” His brows meet as he lets out a small laugh. “Is it now?”
“Hmm.” You ignore his lingering gaze as you move to the bush of Hydrangeas. “I’m looking at them right now, see. I think they’re pretty, they shall be my favorite if I must choose.” You declared. “Alright, I’ll keep a note of that.”
The two of you moved to the throne room after. A rather contradicting view to the garden. The throne was smaller than you expected, but it looked terrifying enough, being sat in the middle of the dark, silvery room. “Have you ever sat on it?” You ask curiously. His eyes widen and he shook his head immediately. “Gods no, that’s only for my mother.” You raise a brow suspiciously. “Not even for fun, not even as a child.”
“Nope.” He insisted, “Although, Lucerys had, once. He’d thought it’d be funny, pretending to be mother. I’ve never seen anyone run so fast when Daemon and her enter the room out of nowhere.” He chuckled at the memory, making you laugh with him as you move out. “See, he knows how to have fun at least.” The prince snorted at that. “And I didn’t get an arse whooping, guess who really won?”
Jace mentally crosses out every place he’s shown you. Honest to the gods, he knew he’s probably the shittiest tour guide ever. But he tries his best, and he knows that it doesn’t really matter. Hopefully tonight, there’ll be less talking and more discovering. Since he himself have not sneaked out to the night market in ages. And with his mother’s permission, there needn’t be any sneaking around. “So, where to next?” You ask, when he keeps quiet through the walking. “My chambers.” You almost choked. “And pray tell, why, are we going to your very forgettable room out of anywhere else?” He laughs in surprise at your forwardness. “So, you’ll know where to go tonight.” Your frown deepens. “Why am I going there again, tonight?”
“Because we’re off to the night market tonight. And although my mother knows we’re going, leaving by the front door would make such a fuss. Next thing you know, they all would want to tag along. So we leave by the hidden exit in my chambers."
“And you don’t want them to tag along?” You ask almost teasingly, testing the waters. “No.” He says. “I do not.”
♧♣︎♧
It was night enough after dinner. The skies had darkened themselves so well that you could barely even see any stars from your window. The rest of your company had resolved to their own business. You’ve barely seen Baela for the whole day, the young lady had been so busy studying and reading like the scholar she is. Meanwhile Rhaena had spent a good half of her day with Lucerys, swordfighting, and then to their high Valyrian studies.
You had thought that you may find it feeling odd and awkward to be spending the whole day with Jacaerys, but your nerves had lied to you once again.
You were much more comfortable around him than you expected. For one thing, You hadn’t have to mind your speaking. You still stayed silent whenever you found it necesarry to speak, but the need to tiptoe around every person you meet was not needed when you are around him. Sometimes he’ll speak to you like he’s known you for ages, and it takes you by surprise every time.
You know his history, the rumours that has surrounded him since birth. Those same rumors you have faced since you were found by Corlys.
But you wonder how does one like him could still find it in himself to still be kind and trusting, despite being treated the opposite by his own family. It was no secret that his uncles and the queen have a strong distaste for Rhaenyra and her children. Corlys makes jokes of the queen often with his ladywife, the green queen. And now that you’ve known him, you wonder why exactly would such distaste exists at all. A true Targaryen, with the traits of a true king to be.
You brush off your unimportant questions as you tie your shoelaces properly. There was no guarantee what the activities tonight would enquire, but just to be safe, you dressed lightly with a hoodie to cover yourself on top of it all. Peaking out your door, you leave after making sure the doors are shut and no familiar faces are detected.
Jacaerys, who has been waiting for you 15 minutes earlier than the time he’s set, wastes no time opening his doors after two knocks by you.
Closing the door behind you, he fails to resists the grin blooming on his face as he leads you into a small entrance of staircase behind the curtains of his bed. “Ever been on a boat before?” He asks as his fingers make quick to find yours, walking you through the dark pathway.
“The small one?” He grins largens. “Yes, that would be a boat.”
“Then no, I have not.” The two of you finally reaches the end of the way, a small door, heavy of stones is the end, You help him push it to the right, revealing the dim light of the moon, accompanied by loud noises made by the pigeons. Walking out of the castle, you let him close shut the secret entrance while admiring the jet black sky, engulfing the unrivalled sight of the moon. The wind was gentle too, caressing your visible skin, making your goosebumps rise. Your head turns to the boat placed on the sand when you hear Jacaerys’ nearing footsteps.
“We’ll be rowing on that?” he gives you a nod before pushing it onto the water.
“Come on, get in.” You do as he tells you to, pulling your long skirt up, Passing you the giant paddle, He follows suit hopping into the boat once he’s pushed it further into the long river. “It’s barely a few minutes to get there, if we could just walk, that’ll be easier, but water has been rising up since three years ago, so they dug a long hole to make a river, rowing it is.” You nod understandingly at his words as you move your arms with the paddle as he does, rowing fast. True to his words, after a good 15 minutes, You begin to saw patches of grass and sand, along with  bright lights and what had sounded like people.
You fix your hood as advised as the boat reaches it end. Tying the simple craft onto a wooden post, the prince stretches a hand for you to grab on as he helps you up. He pulls you to his chest too strongly, making the both of you sway back and forth. You let out your giggle while your hand grips his for stability.
He smiles with before lightly taking one step away, hand still holding yours. “You excited?” He asks like he doesn’t know. You say nothing and only shoves him slightly before walking over him, tugging him along as you lead yourself through the noisy and bright coloured crowd.
The hood you wear does a good job of hiding how in awe you were of your surrounding. There were many people, but none of them were looking at you or Jacaerys. The beauty was in how you felt like you were everywhere and nowhere all at the same time. You jolt to the side when a group of children burst through path without warning. “Rascals.” You hear a man sigh tiredly before following them. The overlapping voices and laughing mixes with eachother, producing an overwhelming humanly background noise. Spinning your head around the place, your eyes confuse themselves as they turn from the firework stalls and the food section to the toysellers and pantomimes that’s set much further.
“Catch up with me.” You warn the prince as you move without direction to whatever calls you.
Carrot cake, you noted. Passing through a stall of baked goods, and whatever else food you eyes couldn’t have grasped properly as you kept walking. “What are you looking for?” You hear the muffled voice of your company from behind. You weren’t sure what you were looking for. Stopping at a covered tent, you peeked in and jumped backwards immediately when a woman looked back at you. Her head appears through the curtains. “Would you like to know your future?” You blinked at her and was pulled forward before you could speak. “A scam.” Jace says as he leans into your ear. “It would help a lot if you stop running, yeah? No one’s chasing you angel.” His worlds were almost reassuring until the last word. “Right.” You stutter, following his lead now instead of the reversed as before.
“Fishcakes?” He asks as you pass a seafood stall. He sees the frown of distaste and laughed in return. “Not a seafood girl, got it.”
“Beefcake maybe.” You suggest. He humas and lets his eyes roams the stalls while he walks. “I think those are further up.” The both of you are walking slower now, letting you take a good look at the shops and lights. “Have you ever seen anything this beautiful?” You ask, nodding at the lights connecting from stalls to stalls. You would’ve thought they were stars if it weren’t for the mix of pink, yellow and purple. “Yes, I have.” You appreciate that he’s not laughing at you. When you turn to look at him, he’s already set his gaze on you. “Is it always like this every night?” You ask. He shrugs at you with a small smile. “I don’t know, I’ve only been here twice when I was a child, It was much paler then. Smellier too.” You laughed.
His attention was turned away when he finally spots a beefcake stall. Small pieced of them stuck through a long stick and are placed over the tables. “Two please.” He pays the seller and hands you the stick like a prize. “Oh, this is great.” You praise hungrily, taking a bite off of it. “It is, isn’t it?” You hummed in reply, enjoying your beefcake. He continues his stride soon after, fingers still intertwining with yours.
“A puppet show is that?” The prince asks himself as he reaches the pantomime performance. “Puppet?” You repeat in confusion.
He brings you to his side as the two of you stand a bit far from the children sitting crossed legged to enjoy the small theatre. “What’s it about?” You whisper to him. He shrugs and points a finger to the cardboard drawn puppet of a girl wearing a straw hat. A voice of a man shushes the chattering children as the puppet begins to move. "This is a story of Aenathema.” The invisible voice spoke.
“Aenathema, is a seaborn woman, or most accurately, a siren.” The children turned quiet. “Young in age, and beautiful as the myths say, she spends her days swimming and nights tricking sailors for their trinkets.”  How factually incorrect this story already was, you thought. Sirens don’t exist, firstly.
Aenathma the puppet moved through the cardboard cut ocean. “Stories of death luring sirens spread all over the land of men, to warn the sailors and fisherman. But they misunderstood poor Aenathema, for she only craved an end of her curiosity.” You could understand that, if you’re honest. ”But one day, a brave and unhinged prince decided to find the said siren, in wishes to prove his people how false the stories of her cruelty were. So he sailed for moons-“ A male puppet glued to a paper ship moved through the square space, “-until finally, Aenathma, curious she always were, showed herself.” They must fall in love, that’s how the stories always went.
"The prince, with his original intention to kill her, hesitated. The siren and her beauty had captivated him.” Of course it did.
“He invited the naïve Aenathema up his ship, ‘Please, make yourself at home, for all that you could want shall be by your feet, if you’d only asked.’ He had said.”  The two puppets neared eachother, standing side by side.
“Grateful by the prince’s kindness. Aenathema fell into his trap. Weeks past, and the lovesick prince had refused to let her go.” The voice was interrupted when a child yelled out; “Why can’t she just jump back in?” The other children agreed, their voices scattering. “I was getting there.” The voice snapped, making you smile.
“Poor Aenathema could not return to sea, for her magical coat had been stolen. The coat she would need to be able to breathe underwater.” This is the part where she turns into a seal, you think to yourself.
The male puppet was switched to another version with much scarier drawn eyes.
“She devised a plan then, come full moon, she shall trick him into bed, and poison him to sleep. And so she waited, and waited, and waited. Until finally, Full moon appeared. With her siren voice, she lured him to bed, and poured his own poison into his wine. Once the prince had fallen asleep, she took the key oh his treasury and unlocked it for her coat. Fash she moved to put it on, and faster more she moved to dive back into the sea.” You felt your heart drop uneasily, what a terrifying story for a child to hear, you thought to yourself.
“The prince was angry when he woke, four of his crewmen were killed on sight in the midst of his rage. For not only did he lose his future bride, he also lost his future child.” The crowd gasped. You gasped along with them, earning an amused smile from your company. “You’ve never heard this story before?” He asks lowly. You shook your head, attention still stuck on the show.
“Aenathema had swam and stayed underwater for moons without knowing she was with child, but once she did, she swore she’d never let harm become of them, and that the child shall never swim to shore as she did, lest they befall the same fate.”  What an end. The crowd of kids erupted into chaos again, yelling out their questions and even disagreeing with the narrator’s end.
“A bit too disturbing for the little ones, right?” Jacaerys spoke You felt your body relax as you nod at him. “I want more beefcake.” You requested as the children starts to part ways back to their parents.
♧♣︎♧
After spending the next half hour walking around and the market and eating more beefcakes, the two of you decided it was well past the time to go home.
You twist and turned the new bracelet Jacaerys has brought for you earlier as fixes the boat back where he found it. It was no gold, but the marble like blue beads had caught your attention. His treat, he had insisted.
You made your way back in through the hidden pathway into his chambers. It was dim without the light of candles or day. The both of you were quiet despite the fact that everyone else was asleep. He finds a burner to light up his bedside candle.
“There you go.” He mumbles to himself as the room brightens slightly. His eyes were tired and his hair was disheveled, it was weirdly attractive, you thought. He turns to you, who’s now sat on the edge of his bed, equally as tired and spent. Taking a seat next to you, his fingers were sly, moving to touch the beads around your wrist. “Do you like it?” He whispers. You nod your head subtly. “Tell me, I can’t see you. He asks gently
“I like it.” You whispered back, voice slightly cracking at the end. You were thirsty.
“Did you have fun, tonight?” You smiled. “Shockingly, yes.” You could see his brows raising despite the dimness. “Why suprising?” “Well, I didn’t think you knew how to have fun.” His lips spread from a thin line to a grin, matching your own.
“I know how to do a lot of other things too.” The way he spoke was hesitant, like he knew he’s reaching through a forbidden border. But you leaned in closer, till you noses touch, and you had asked him, with the same angel-like voice you had from the night you first met. “Like what?” He answered you with an embrace of his lips with yours.
The first touch of them were teasing, so you pulled him closer, and you kissed him back, fiercer. As his hands move to cup the back of your head, yours finds the walls of his chest, grasping on his tunic like air restricted from you. You feel his lips wet your dry ones, letting his tongue tease your mouth into opening, and intertwining with your own.
As his hands move to caress your lower back instead, you find yourself pushing him to sit laid back on his bed before climbing onto his lap, devouring eachother with more access. The bolder you feel, the bolder he gets with his hands, and the louder the sirens in your head rang. But how could one move on from another who looked at you the way he does?
One of his palms are now gripping your hips, sitting you on him, while the other grasps your hair tight so your lips won’t leave his. He groans lowly. Your fingers are holding onto his neck so shyly, trying not to squeeze it with the intensity of how he’s kissing you. Like a strike of lightning has struck you, You jolted away from his face in sudden. Heavy breathing fills the air between the two of you. “What-“ You cut off his question before he could complete it, “Someone’s coming.” Too soon the confirmation came, three knocks on his door forces you both to scramble from his bed.
“A second!” He yells as he fixes his tunic and ruffling his hair back, trying to calm himself down enough to remove the redness in his face, while you run to hide behind his secret door, pushing the stone door close quickly without making a noise. “Jacaerys.” It was Baela.
You curse yourself internally, the memory of tasting him repeating themselves in your head like a warning sign. Of course, It’s Baela. It was always Baela.
Any tf2 headcanons?
I was hoarding this ask for when I have alot of hcs but I now realize that that was an awful idea becuz now there too much going on in my brain. So I'll tell you the ones I can remember rn.
(btw this is gonna be a mess of silly and sad contention into a blender, so sorry for any whiplash)
Everyones business last name is TF2. It's canon, Ms Pauling said so.
Scout and Ms Pauling have one thing in common, they're simps for women out of their league and it's sad.
My current idea of the plot is that Ms Pauling is now the new administrator and the mercs are still working for her but now instead of a war they are now a Hire-A-Merc organization. Why, so they can pay the blood pact that the old administrator got them in from Abraham Lincoln.
The team is a merge for BLU and RED team members.
BLU: Scout, Medic, Soldier, Engineer | RED: Heavy, Demo, Spy, Sniper, Pyro
Engie has an gaming channel.
Engie is a little person. (you can't convince otherwise LOOK AT HIM)
Engie does his own surgery, not that he doesn't trust Medic. He just doesn't trust Medic. He has more trust that in his drunken state he could chop his arm off cleaner than Medic because of his god complex.
Engie says trans rights.
Engie has two moods: Wholesome bumpkin or manic "i am better than all of you".
Medic and Heavy are married. (but to be fair thats just canon)
Medic never had a medical license but he did go to school... for animal care.
Medic has a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and lied ALOT to military when he got drafted to get out safely.
He got a nazi skeleton and dead parents out of that.
Medic burn his documents so now the only people that knows is the people he tells like Heavy.
Medic only have two reasons for being here- 1) to experiment on everyone. 2) Heavy
Medic eats like a cat eating a dragon fruit. And so does Archimedes.
Medic is the definition of "no rules no boundaries he doesn't flinch at torture and sells blood for money. He's your new best friend."
Medic is slowly going more insane with time and can't tell if it's because he sold his soul to the devil or because someone is secretly fucking with him. (it's Spy)
Heavy met Medic before joining the team.
Heavy has a cooking channel.
He's a masochist. (he has too if he's with Medic.)
Heavy will kill Soldier before he starts having kids with Zhanna. He's still not ok with him.
Heavy has lots of cute moles on him. (Medic makes sure to kiss each one and make sure they're not lethal.)
While Im at it Heavy family is cursed to fall in-love with insane men.
Pyro-vision is just Pyro going through a heat stroke.
Pyro is the leader of the hate spy club.
Pyro has kids that live in the ocean with his mermaid wife. Don't ask how, it's Pyro.
Engie and Scout are the only ones that understand what Pyro is saying completely.
Engie adopted Pyro unofficially but that's his son right there.
Soldier and Zhanna are gonna have twins.
Soldier and Demo had kiss once- with their socks on.
Medic did a blood test on Soldier and he actually is not 100% American, he doesn't know and everyone intends it to stay that way.
Soldier and Scout actually know each other from before getting hired by BLU. They were comrade in the 100,000 new men program in Vietnam.
After Scout left in general discharge from a land mine incident he thought that would be the laat time he sees him. He was wrong.
Don't worry they're chill, well as chill as man can be when their hand is somehow a magnet to your neck.
Sniper is a social smoker.
Sniper is like a lizard, he doesn't fuck with the cold.
Sniper is younger than Scout. He just spent too much time in the sun and now he looks like a divorce 40 y/o dad struggling with his mortgage. Or just a brown Adam Sandler.
Sniper got those old man bones AKA my bones. His knees be cracking down the hall.
Sniper hops round different peoples places for the holidays. He spent the most time at Engie's house with Pyro; he had spent a Christmas or two with Scout's family but a "certain someone" doesn't appreciate the bushman there and ruining his holiday with his family.
When Scout has to give directions or details of the area he just draws it. Because NO ONE understands this mans writing.
Scout's life mission is to be Gods greatest gift and not just for the women. Like the bible said "a hole is a hole"... or atleast thats what Scout remembers from church.
Scout while being illiterate CAN speak Spanish, Italian, Vietnamese and French. (but he doesn't remember where he learned french from tho.)
Scout is resistant to radiation at this point.
Before becoming a merc, Scout was working at a diner that fitted him quite well.
Waffle House at the graveyard shift.
Scout's fuckboy attitude comes from daddy issues while Spy slut attitude comes from mommy issues.
Spy came from a rich family until he ran away to help in the war effort and became a spy. He doesn't regret his decision nor miss his home but does wish he did a proper goodbye to his brother.
The reason Spy has teeth capsules in his mouth to begin with is because one time him and a his fellow spy were getting torture by the enemy by having their teeth removed. Now all his teeth are fake.
Speaking of teeth, Scout got his buck-teeth from Spy.
Spy HAS gotten lungs transplanted several times from Medic because this mf refuses to chill out and get help with his smoking problem.
Spy is gender fluid.
Spy is a furry.
Demo is going to kill him one day.
That day is when he finds his DA account.
After that whole mess, they, of course, go back to FFM. Both because the cubs had a long day and needed a nap and also because neither Wukong nor MK had the energy to reset their glamours, and the last thing any of them wanted was to be swarmed. Wukong had to be stopped form going into a cleaning spree as soon as he realized he was having guests over for the first time in years and had to be told to sit down since, out of everyone there, be had been the one in the worst condition when all was said and done. They still enjoyed their smaller, more private New Years celebration and getting to run around in MK's childhood home
referencing.
Absolutely. Wukong is taking all the cubs home for a well-deserved rest (the eclipse twins argue that they aren't tired [lie]), and to properly introduce himself to the Noodle shop gang/aka his reincarnated Pilgrim brothers.
Wukong is a dedciated King to his people, but hasn't really let people "get close" since the Samadhi Fire incident/DBK's imprisonment. So he's a little rusty on how to play host in his own palace. The Stalwarts and the island's subjects are worried since they noticed some sort of havoc going on in the mainland while their King was gone, but Wukong brushes them off.
When Wukong attempts to clean up and play host, Pigsy quickly makes him sit down since; "You're pregnant and nearly got all your magic drained out of you. I'll make dinner." Which immediately puts the pig in the monkeys' good graces. Wukong does have to admit, piglet's grandson makes amazing noodle soup.
Mei (+MK) helps Pigsy out in the kitchen, and Wukong has a pang of nostalgia and grief at how similar the little dragon looks to Ao Lie. Her fun-loving attitude quickly gains her fans amongst the cubs, even if they try to eat her phone once or twice.
Lots of talking happens - especially on the subject of MK being Wukong's eldest cub + who exactly "dad" is. Wukong is still a little too upset at Macaque to give more than a curt explaination that he left on "a vacation" and has been missing since then.
Pigsy blurts out that he'll; "Sock the punk in the nose the second he sees 'em for leaving his family like that". It gets a laugh out of the king at least. Gao Cuilan did the same to Bajie when he finally returned after the journey.
Tang is ofc in Jttw-nerd heaven. Asking so many questions that MK has to interupt him to give his mom some space. The Stalwarts happily fill in the more embarassing/sappy details of their King and Warrior's romance, which delights the scholar (and mortifies SWK and MK) to no end.
Sandy is quickly the cubs favorite new uncle - though that could be because he smells like old uncle Sha Wujing. The Eclipse Twins are sus though. He makes himself busy serving up tea and addressing any emotional issues Wukong could be going through rn, especially with another little monkey on the way. Wukong is touched.
The Demon Bull Family makes an appearance - mainly to offer their apologies and for DBK to start making amends with his little bro. DBK quickly gets swarmed by the cubs he missed out on meeting, bellowing with laughter as they climb all over his horns. PIF is very aloof as per usual, but expresses her condolences for Macaque's disappearance. Wukong can tell that the former celestial princess is worried about her old friend, even if she doesn't care to show it.
Red Son is super confused, holding a casserole dish of non-spicy barbeque (DBK uncharacterically insisted, apparently the Monkey King hated spicy food), and just blinking at the fact that the "Noodle Boy" and "Pony Girl" he'd been fighting with were actually his calf-hood chums! Yuebei tries to eat his hair the moment he's offered to hold one of the Nodelets for the first time.
Overall the New Years "afterparty" (as Mei dubbed it) goes far better than the original celebration. Even if MK is super-grounded for not telling Wukong he became a superhero + lying who he actually was to the gang.
+Bonus: I love the idea of the cubs being super cranky during the events in the Celestial Realm. And when the spider gang attempt to stop the gang on the airship; little Yuebei starts shrieking with anger over her lack of sleep + missing both parents, and blasts them away with her non-fatal lazer eyes. It's one of many signs that MK's family aren't normal demons. Hunstman is a little embarassed that he was technically defeated by a baby.
Dangerous Woman
Leon Kennedy , Chris Redfield (Separate)
Tumblr media
Were their s/o getting called a Dangerous Woman... They wonder why...
- Really busy rn meaning I can't do Chris for this for a while but I'll try to make it 😭 Wish me luck for my exam 😭
Leon Kennedy
"How lucky are you dating a Dangerous Woman Kennedy?" Leon Halted when he heard that "What? Y/n? A Dangerous Woman? No way" Why would Claire describe you a Dangerous Woman? When you are a loving and caring person in his eyes. "I guess Chris didn't tell you huh?" Leon then got confused "Tell me what?" Leon was waiting for her to explain "She took down 5 zombies without any weapons, AND almost killed one of my brother's crew at training! Even the BSAA operator got scared" Claire laughed at the last part, she still remembered when Chris got impressed by you and Piers slightly flinched when you called his name. "And you think I would believe that?" He crossed his arms to his chest thinking about you being skilled as him makes him go wild...
He would imagine you two sparring, killing zombies together... He does like it if someone talks about how your cool, amazing, hot, and many more. "EARTH TO LEON!" Claire's voice snapped him back to reality "*sigh* If you don't really believe me Chris and Y/n will be on the training area" That made his eyes widen "What? You do know she can be injured!" "Relax Leon, I told Chris to go easy on her" Leon then realized something- this son of a bit- "So you were the one who suggested this!?" Before he can utter another word Claire was already on her way to the training area. 'Women'
-
"Just to be safe, I will go easy on you alright?" Chris told you before getting ready, but since confidence is with you right now "You don't need to Chris. I'll be fine" Chris smirked, surely its okay for Leon? "Don't" You both heard Leon's voice with a slightly harsh tone making you gulp. "Hey Leon" you wonder why you're nervous... Leon glared at you signaling saying 'Stop'. "Hey cmon Leon, why don't you let her?" "Because I don't want to" Leon immediately talked "Its my first time seeing you worried about someone" Chris chuckled "Cmon, Leon. Let her show you what's she's capable of" Chris tried to budge Leon and finally he let it "Finally!" You said happily "But if you got hurt, that's not my problem got it?" Leon glaring at you and you nodded. Leon sat down at a bench near the training area observing you carefully.
"What you just did yesterday... I didn't really expected that" Chris rubbed his left shoulder. "Almost all my men suggested you to join on the missions" You giggled "I would love to"
.
.
.
Chris wasn't doing really well. Leon can't believe that you made Chris in this situation, his lips slightly bloodied, his left eye has a dark purple mark on it, while you have just small bruises on your arms and face.
Chris dodged another hit from you and lunged. Chris got a good hold on you and shoved you against the closest wall which made Leon slightly stand up. He didn't like this... He didn't like how you got pinned in the wall by Chris... "Got you now" Chris growled. You were breathing hard, but goddamn it, you didn't even look like your in pain. Who the seven devils are you? Chris eyes narrowed when he suddenly felt a movement from you "What-" you threw his head back, then slammed your forehead into his nose. His cartilage cracked and blood wet Chris's lips. He backed away from you "Oh, shit- I-im so sorry Chris! I think I may have gone too far!" You apologized over and over again "It's okay Y/n. It's not like im going to die anyway" Chris tried to stop the bleeding but no avail. "I think you should...uhm...go to the clinic..." He nodded and he went to the clinic while holding his nose. You felt bad... "You should've told me you know?" You almost forgot Leon was watching you the whole time. "You impressed me, damn" that made you eyes sparkle, hearing praises from him makes you heart meltt "I was going to, but Claire has other plans" You said, you looked at Leon... His lips slightly trembling "Leon? You alright-" "Wanna go spar with me?" You jumped when he suddenly spoke but agreed to his request "Sure!" You smiled, you were excited to beat his ass >:) "But are you alright? Slamming you forehead to Chris's face can get you some headaches... Well, since Chris is a hard headed" he smirked at the last part of his sentence, he then reached your forehead slightly rubbing it with his thumb "I-it did hurt...you rubbing it makes it quite better but I don't appreciate you being mean to Chris tho" Leon laughed he loves it when your so kind <3 he kissed your forehead making you smile.
OKOKOK I DONT KNOW IF ILL MAKE IT BUT I NEED SOMEONE TO SO!
Pokémon!LMK!!!!!
Firstly this is going to be ESPECIALLY inspired by the anime since I’m watching it rn. And I barely know anything about Pokémon soooooooo….
ONTO THE AU IDEA
Mk gets woken up by Mei who wanted to be at his house to scare him when he got back from the poke-lab to get his pokemon, and the both realize he’s late as shit.
When they finally get there this really weird dude that’s obviously in a disguise is like “I’m the professor or doctor or smth I don’t really know, your late, have this random guy”
MK’s like, I’ll take what I can get, and takes Pokémon out it his pokeball (which is really intricately designed, especially the red bits, with a whole bunch of fire stuff) and it turns out to be a Chimchar which the professor seemed really impressed by (not the Chimchar part the part where Mk could get him out of the ball).
Also there was this one Pokémon master who’s main guy was an Infernape (the third evolution stage of Chimchar) and so Mk was like really excited about this.
They go on their adventure (Mei’s not old enough to have a Pokémon yet, but she wants to join Mk on his journey and her parents know they couldn’t stop her if they tried [and they did]) and meet their first gym, a fire gym.
✨Redson✨
MK’s got some more Pokémon at this point but starts out with Chimchar, in the same ball that he was originally in. Redson accuses Mk of stealing, Mk denies, they get into a bigger fight and turns out professor sketchy face was Sun Wukong (the aforementioned great trainer Mk likes so much [plot twist of the century]) “stole it” and gave it to Mk and now Redson is following Mei and Mk around like team rocket.
(Long story short, Sun Wukong breed another Chimchar and put him in a ball that could only be opened by someone worthy, someone Sun Wukong would train. Then either Redson seemed like a good candidate, couldn’t open it, and then they all got huffy he couldn’t so they kept him [until SWK stole him back] or DBK, PIF, and Redson just stole it [because it’s so powerful blah blah blah])
So now that’s happening, Mk is in touch with Sun Wukong, his dad Pigsy, and his dad’s husband Tang. Then Pigsy (being worried about his son) calls his old friend Sandy to help them (he’s a water type Pokémon breeder). This whole thing can happen before or after Mk meets Redson but yk (probably before but I was too excited about Redson).
Mei’s parents are visiting the town their in (on totally unrelated business what do you mean???) and woo yay it was Mei’s 10th birthday a little bit ago and now her parents asked her to watch over this one intricate pokeball (it’s green and while with dragon designs on the green bit).
One of Redsons Pokémon tries to steal it, but with the help from the Rayquaza inside the ball, Mei is able to defeat them. Mei says sorry to her parents for opening the pokeball, they say their proud of her and we’re gonna get it to her anyway (when she was older, but Mei always had a way with ruining their plans). Something something family.
I honestly don’t know too much yet (might reblog this later with more thoughts on the AU) but I do know I want Redson to go to Mk and Mei’s side (also Sandy is there) and maybe have like a Toph/Brock arc????? Again I don’t really know
I was specifically imagining that Redson actually deeply cares about his Pokémon and has nicknames for all of them, but only catches fire types. Aside from and Eevee who he plans to make into a Flareon but ends up accidentally making into a Sylveon because he coddles him too much or smth. Arc about him trying to find what makes him happy and trying to get his parents to not cut him out of their life pretty please with a cherry on top.
But that’s all I got so far…
i read @skyloftian-nutcase's wonderful lovely healthcare au last night instead of sleeping and it really got my brain rolling on a modern au. except im very bad at au's so rn its in the batter phase. unsure if there will ever be a cake. it will likely still be raw in the middle if there is XD
current ideas:
time and malon own a ranch. twilight's a drifter looking after wild who takes a job as a ranch hand and the two of them end up adopted. wars is the son of the Wealthiest Business Man in town. he and wind are step siblings. ravio owns the gas station in town. legend begrudgingly works there. they are roommates (currently).
boarding school au?? time and malon are the house parents for a dormitory. room assignments are; wars and twi (seniors), hyrule and legend (sophomores), wild and sky (juniors), wind and four (freshmen). teenage angst abound lmao The Kids Are Not Alright
city au. wind and wars are step brothers, wars is looking after wind. wars' college bestie is twi who "adopted" wild. legend's a couch surfer though they dont mind putting him up at all. four lives down the hall from twi with his grandpa. idk where hyrule, sky, and time fit into this one
ANYWAY! idk that ill ever write these or anything. maybe a oneshot or quickfic here or there. who knows!! au stuff really isnt my strong suit. i already get worried about my fics being unfaithful to source property/doing characters wrong. and i guess all of these might be urban fantasy in some way?? they need more simmer time
when you come home | childe x reader
masterlist
your boyfriend, ajax, has been away in liyue for three years. even though his letters stop, you still hold faith. no matter how long it takes, your ajax will come home to you.
a/n: happy bday to my favorite bloodthirsty backhanded bitch. since i’m reading the illiad and the odyssey rn, somewhat inspired by odysseus coming home to penelope
warnings; alcohol, slight angst that goes to fluff
Tumblr media
it is your boyfriend’s birthday today.
it has also been officially 1000 days since ajax left for liyue harbor today.
almost three calendars have been torn since he left, with each day marked with a black x. the current one sits hopelessly by your framed photos together, by the window where snow gathers day in and day out.
you remember exactly when he left. the day after teucer’s birthday, he was called to zapolyarny palace and was notified to start packing for the harbor. there was hardly any time to say your goodbyes, but he promised to come back as soon as possible. he boarded that ship, leaving you with a kiss on the cheek and a promise of a wedding when he came back home.
you wondered when he would fulfill that promise. it had been almost three years since he had last left, and unlike what romance novels would suggest, love letters could not replace his physical presence. the news of a crisis in liyue harbor between the archon, morax, and the fatui made you even more worried. since then, you hadn’t received a letter from ajax, and you were becoming despondent. not even the piles of foreign gifts or bags of mora he got you could compensate.
his family down the street had received similar treatment from him as well: sparse letters, plenty of gifts, and no word of when he was coming back home. ajax’s youngest siblings were all blissfully unaware of what he was doing in liyue, simply thinking he was away on a big business trip. but to his older siblings, his parents, and yourself, you knew that no business trip could last three years.
in his absence, you were faced with a variety of questions about his whereabouts. your friends wondered what kind of boyfriend would leave you by yourself for three years. your family wondered when he would finally get introduced as their son-in-law, and not as “y/n’s boyfriend who was out of town”. you were set up on multiple dates with suitors who asked for your hand, only to be turned away without a second look.
maybe you were hopelessly stubborn about him, you thought as you looked at the small stack of letters you had received from him on your desk. since snezhnaya has always been a nation that emphasizes the importance of the military, you had heard horror stories of soldiers deploying while their widows waited for the rest of their lives for their impossible return. but ajax was different. he was coming back, and he was yours, and you wouldn’t take some cheap substitute while you waited.
a soft knock came at your door. when you open it, you smile despite the flakes coming in. ajax’s younger brother, teucer, stands before you, in a heavy coat and thick, red scarf. “hello, teucer,” you greet with a small wave. “are you here to play today? mr. cyclops is always more than welcome in my house.”
shaking his head, he smiles. “not today, y/n!” he chirps. “my parents want you to come over for dinner tonight. it’s big brother’s birthday!”
looking at your calendar, you read the date: july 20. you nearly forgot that it was your boyfriend’s birthday today! quickly taking a coat off of its rack, you bundle up before following teucer.
ajax’s birthday has always been accompanied by pleasant weather. it’s in the middle of the mild season, where most days are sunny with minor snow storms. the evening weather reflected that, as the sunset was tangerine orange and blush pink. standing in front of his house, the scent of warm soup wafted out the open front door. despite the new, large house (courtesy of ajax’s hefty salary), his family made it seem as homey as the log cabin they used to live in.
walking in, you were welcomed by his family. a cake sat in the middle of the dining room table, with about two dozen candles flickering in the evening light. the soup was passed around, along with freshly caught fish from the frozen lake. you exchange amiably conversation with teucer, anton, and tonia. still, it didn’t feel like a birthday party without the birthday boy.
as the conversations lulled, everyone stared at the cake. standing, you look at each of ajax’s family members. “well, it’s been three years since ajax has been gone. while it’s unfortunate that he can be here for his birthday, i hope he enjoys it, wherever it is. and i hope that he can come home soon.” his family cheers to that, with his father raising a glass of liquid fire. his older siblings bobbed their heads in agreement, while the younger ones crowded around the cake beside you.
nodding solemnly, you turn around to look at the cake. before you could process what was happening, a voice pipes up behind you. “you weren’t planning on blowing out those candles without me, were you?”
gasping, your hand came over your mouth instantly. turning around, you locked eyes with your lover. “big brother!” teucer squealed first, racing over. anton and tonia follow shortly after, collapsing him onto the ground.
you could only watch with teary eyes as he greeted each member of his family: a kiss on the cheek from his mother, a hug from his father, and a shot of alcohol with his older siblings. by the time he approaches you, you’re a mess. the tears fall down easily now, along with soft hiccups.
“hi, love,” he says with a soft voice. he kisses away your tears as you cling onto his shirt, still crying. when you touch his face, when you count his freckles, when you can feel his dimple under your fingertips, you know that he is real. chastely, you kiss him on the lips. he grins. no more words need to be said: he’s home.
when you calm down, he takes you by the waist. swiftly, he blows out the candles in one puff. teucer clings onto his shoulder, practically shaking the soul out of him. “what’d you wish for?!”
“well…” he smiles, reaching into his back pocket. out pops a shiny golden ring, studded with a chiseled jewel. “about that wedding, i promised you…”
im sorry for being cringe... *mixes my fixations* this is my tlou au (the last of us) for invader zim!! 1 fandom very alive rn n the other not talked about too much rn so i hope this goes well!!
honestly you dont have to know tlou to know this au, but it would make more sense, this can jus be a zombie apoc au!
dib is a runaway firefly, he used to be apart of them cause of membrane being a doctor and scientist for them in one of the firefly hide outs, he ran away cause of how membrane was always busy and how he just was tired of not being listened to, he takes a lot of their supplies before running away, the only reason they care about him running away is cause of him being able to tell fedra where they’re located (which he wouldn’t do, but it still worries them) plus he’s the son of the lead scientist, dib was also born during the outbreak so he’s like 15. he highly believes he’ll be ok out there in the open, which he kinda is? still super clumsy and accidentally loud at time
still kinda working on it but it’s been what’s on my mind
zim on the other hand, is still alien, came to earth during the outbreak, seeing that zombies are the norm, disguises himself as human, lands thinking he can take all those zombies, gets bit twice, but is immune cause of his body reacting differently to the fungus, he still grows fungus around the areas he gets bit, but he is still conscious and living, his pak got messed up when being attacked once, and its slowly repairing itself, he's also a nomad, still having gir, which he had to cover girs mouth, so he wouldn't attract clickers and such, since gir is a robot too, and fixable, zim mainly uses him for distractions if he needs to sneak past a place
zim and dib find each other, hate each other at first but grow onto each other cause of how they both just need to survive
so ya! im probably gonna make short comics based off this au, nothing crazy but yippee!!
blah i got headcanons about the gay twisted wonderland boys please debate me (politely)
Gay:
Crewel, Sam, and Chen'ya have only ever kissed boys and never considered anyone else.
Jade is gay and autistic af
Jack is freshly out of the closet because he never realized that being uncomfortable with a girl being "the one and only" was uncommon.
Idia is... well. a flaming homosexual
Bi:
Trein is a wifeguy through and through, but this man had a youth at some point.
Vargas - dating Crewel. source: just trust me bro
Lilia... hunny look at the material.
Trey has dated a LOT of people during his time in school. He is kissing Vil rn btw
Ace is newly bi
Floyd dgaf about gender. he has MASSIVE crushes on Riddle and Jamil
Rook is bi in that he likes all men and maybe one woman. Homoflexible if you will
Ace/Aro:
so i made this tier level because i didn't have space in the screenshot to have different ones for each so I put the aroace spec dudes on the same level
Silver is demi through and through. He doesn't pursue anything with anyone as his priorities are to his family, but it's never out of the realm of possibility for him. due to his closeness to Malleus, he also wants to ensure that whoever it is he's dating is not a danger to the prince.
ruggie is aro/ace big time because all that's a waste of time for him. he's always on that grind
Kalim, my son, is panromantic ace. Loves deeply, passionately, clumsily, and desires nothing more than intellectual closeness.
Closeted:
Sebek has some self searching before he realizes he's gay
Epel has some internalized homophobia to fight before he's okay with calling himself any flavor of queer
Riddle's mom is homophobic, boy can't even consider the possibility of liking anyone other than girls.
Jamil knows who he is, but why bother coming out if it isn't going to change anything? Plus, Floyd would never let him live it down.
Some flavor of queer:
Crowley... just look at him.
Malleus's whole being transcends the binary of gender AND sexuality. listen to him talk about gargoyles.
Azul is a drag king.
Deuce is trans masc AND trans fem vibes. i will not elaborate either way.
Vil's whole shtick with Epel is gender doesn't matter. She's the trans ever.
Leona is a cis man but dgaf. i mean yes he does but he doesn't want to be pigeonholed.
Heterosexual:
Cater and Neige are straight because its Funny.
Gayass Cat:
Grim's a gayass cat. you see that bow? gayass. bet it jingles.
Remains to be seen:
Ortho - it didn't feel right throwing him into any other categories because (spoilers) but i also didn't want to relegate the robot to the aroace category so i will say. i have no thoughts about him
Cheka is a child. he has other things to worry about. you know how stressful it is to pick your favorite color at his age? your favorite ANIMAL? bro's too busy.
Finding Home part 4
Part 1 - Prev - Next
(I apologize for any mistakes in the Spanish. I do not speak Spanish. Feel free to correct me!)
After he hung up, Hueso could hear the crackling sound of a portal opening. Leo stepped into his office. "Look, Boneman. You know I'm always here to help, but you've got to pay child support."
Hueso ignored him. There more pressing matters than banter. Besides he doubted Leo knew what child support was. "From what I've heard, he has recently been mutated. He doesn't have a place to stay so I need you and your brothers to take him in, at least for tonight."
The amused look on Leo's face disappeared completely. Almost as quickly as his expression has fallen, it was lifted up. "Understood. Lead the way, Tío!"
The two found the teen playing with his empty glass. "Niño, let me introduce to you Leonardo."
The turtle smiled brightly. "Hello! I am Hueso's second favorite person and your personal escort for tonight." He stuck out his hand. Hueso rolled his eyes.
The teen looked a little lost, hesitantly shaking the hand. That was a common occurrence around the blue turtle. "Hi?"
"Woah, what kind of mutant are you?" Hueso whacked him on the back of his head.
"Pepino, no solo le preguntas a la gente qué tipo de mutante es!"
The boy tilted his head. "Am I a what?"
Leo snickered. "Sorry, sorry. Ignore what I said."
Hueso sighed for what felt like the hundredth time that day. "Back to the matter at hand, you can stay with Pepino for the night." He handed them a piece of paper. "Here's my number in case you need it."
"Is this a business card? You're just trying to get my money." The boy grinned.
Leo snorted. "Damn, Tío. I knew you were once a pirate but this is just wrong."
Shaking his head, Hueso muttered, "Dios mío..." Yeah, they were going to get along just fine. "You boys should get going. I have a son waiting for me."
Leo saluted. "See ya 'round, Hueso!" He swiped his ōdachi through the air, cutting a rip in matter and space. Turning towards the other teen, he offered his hand. "Don't worry, it's safe. I have a 95% success rate. Don't ask my brother to confirm that."
They looked back towards Hueso. The skeleton nodded, holding back a comment on his experience with the turtle's portals.
He took Leo's hand and followed him into the portal.
We finally get to meet the fam!
Ngl, not having a name for the OC rn is annoying. I hope it isn't for you. But! That's gonna change soon, definitely within the next few parts. Idk I don't have an outline.
