Sweet tooth

Where some genshin men have suddenly gotten a sweet tooth… or is it because a certain someone is working at the bakery near them… hm…

Al haitham

Al haitham usually don’t care for sweets or sugary goodness (stupid), either ways now that he was grand sage, he didn’t have time to think about these useless things, he’d much rather focus on his work and his books, however once he went to run some errands and collei (yes her) happened to ask him to get sweets for nilous big celebration party later, he couldn’t say no to her now come on ( tighnari will kill him if he did)

So when he entered the bakery and saw you, looking so beautiful while.. working the counter..? He figured you worked there so he decided that now he had a sweet tooth

All just to see your beautiful smile everyday

Diluc

Occasionally Diluc didn’t mind indulging in sweets once in a while, especially if it’s some special occasion but bro is literally batman ( no I am)

He sometimes gets too caught up in his work to go and eat sweets regularly, so he doesn’t really eat much, ( bro is ripped and hot ugh) however, HOWEVER, there are exceptions after all

When a sweet blonde hair ish looking cute girl with pyro vision who calls him weird asked him to get sweets for her since master jean wouldn’t let her ( master jean is a bitch, jk ily jean, don’t ruin my 50/50) diluc obviously takes his chance to redeem himself and not be called weird, so he goes to a good bakery and get the requested sweets

When he sees you working behind the counter he falls head over heels, love at first sight, there was just.. something about you that made his heart beat out of his chest, obviously now it was his life purpose to come visit you and the bakery regularly

He can’t say no to you and you’re baked sweets whenever you give him some,

He just can’t say no to you, you’ve stolen his heart after all;)

Ayato

If you thought this dude had a sweet tooth, no he had a traumatising taste preference, thoma would know, plus being the commissioner he really can’t catch a break ( poor baby) it’s like he’s practically glued in his office

Ayaka and thoma are super worried about him and his health, after all no matter how strong he is, everyone needs to go out and touch some grass in a while;) ( yes us too genshin players) so while it takes the two of them a lot of time to convince ayato to go out, ayaka has an idea, she asks him to go get some sakura mochi for her with her puppy dog eyes, he can’t say no to her and it’s a good excuse to touch grass take a walk and so he does

And boy when he enters the bakery and sees you his heart melts, for some reason you have that effect on him, the way you smile and greet him and show him around the bakery at his request, your voice is only background as he finds himself listening to in your beauty, he thinks to himself what a wonderful idea ayaka has given him and that let him to you

Now he won’t let go, if you asked he’s willing to give you his life

Zhongli

Zhongli is a mixed person to be honest (bro already has a bakery wym) he won’t mind eating the most finest of sweets even tho he’s broke asf ( Childe’s wallet is crying) and yet he happens to find himself in a simple bakery run by you smitten by your beauty

It all started when Childe gave him some more and left for a mission, that made zhongli realise that he has to plan efficiently and not waste a lot, and he saw your bakery on the way home and spent some time thinking to himself if he should actually go in.. once he did, he immediately realised it was an amazing choice, the way your hair fluttered as you moved and the way your eyes sparkled as you heard the bell when the door opens and the way you were so friendly with him, it made him feel a different way.. something he hasn’t felt in a while, it made him feel warm and fuzzy

Your laugh gave him joy and a new found purpose to now have a sweet tooth

Alhaitham ships I like and respect

I realise I typically only post about Kavetham but I actually love a lot of Alhaitham ships (my mans deserves all the love). Here's a list and my reasons for shipping them, because I just got home from uni and I'm bored. These are all ships that I like, the rating is just "how would this realistically go?".

1) Kaveh/Alhaitham

Getting this one out of the way cos <3 we know. I really enjoy their bickering dynamic and they both have very strong personalities, which I adore. That's why I feel the need to be more picky with the fics I read, actually, cos sometimes people write one of them very uncharacteristically just so they don't have to deal with writing two characters with uh *checks notes* personalities lol.

They are both babygirl and they are both Problems. I think their relationship would be undefined but exclusive - neither of them say they're dating, but they've also never sleep around with other people. I kinda like the hc that Kaveh got around a bit more before they met/started their situationship, but I also vibe with the idea that he lied and told Alhaitham he was "oh so experienced" just to one up him.

Rating: 9/10

2) Cyno/Alhaitham

Hehe this one's an oldie but a goodie. So here's the thing: back in 3.1, this was The Sumeru ship. Cynari was also there , definitely, but there was a loud fandom quite obsessed with the enemies to lovers trope. Which! Some people call Kavetham enemies to lovers, wrong, they never had a fistfight; they're just rivals and lovers.

Anyway, Cyno and Alhaitham are a great ship cos we have battle boyfriends with an eventual soft dynamic. I especially love in Act 5 of the archon quest, when they continue to disagree but they're on the same side - Cyno is very against Alhaitham's reckless plan. They have a lot of contrast in their approaches to life, but at this point they have mutual respect for one another that I think could develop beautifully.

The only issue i have with their dynamic is that I struggle to imagine how they would end up together. Maybe after a fight, one of them almost dies and so there's a dramatic kiss?? I don't think Alhaitham would be so romantic tbh, and Cyno is more likely to be very straightforward with a confession, but I think he might not be honest about his feelings in order to focus on Justice™.

Rating: 7/10

3) Dehya/Alhaitham

Yes. I also occasionally like f/m ships. My issue with this one is simply that I ship Dehya with Dunyazarad more, so I think this would be a more one sided crush on Alhaitham's part. I have a hc that he's just, into claymore users. Dehya serves cunt and beats people up and Alhaitham is like "pls come back to the Akademiya, you're so so cool <3".

Maybe I have a crush on Dehya. Maybe that's the issue hm.

I can't see Dehya dating him or Alhaitham really wanting to date her - just a little crush and then a good friendship.

Rating: 10/10 for vibes, 3/10 for practicality

4) Nilou/Alhaitham

Consider: Nilou is cute. Alhaitham is cute. She thinks he's a cool treason-man and he thinks she's the only person as crazy as he is for immediately agreeing to the dangerous plan everyone else took 80% of the run time complaining about.

Would they actually ever date? I think they'd hold hands once, but then figure out very quickly that they have almost nothing in common. Alhaitham would want a more headstrong person to counter his bluntness, and Nilou would find his introversion frustrating in a dating context.

Rating: 4/10

5) Tighnari/Alhaitham

I sort of see this dynamic as the healthiest version of opposites attract on this list. Now, they're both stubborn bastards, however - where I think Alhaitham and Kaveh lose all braincells upon being in the same room, I think Tighnari and Alhaitham maintain their intelligence.

I like the idea that post archon quest they shared an infirmary room in the Birmastan (Alhaitham via head trauma, Tighnari for his untreated lightning strike lol). They both quickly get fed up with their friends' overprotectiveness and kick the likes of Cyno and Kaveh out. They are both Akademiya graduates who've kind of denounced the Akademiya, Tighnari by quitting to become a forest ranger and Alhaitham by phoning in his entire career :')).

So they get to talking since they only really knew each other through Kaveh previously, and then they vibe doing their own thing when they get bored of conversation. I think they'd understand each other pretty well, and Alhaitham would brush off Tighnari's nagging and Tighnari find Alhaitham's abrasiveness endearing, since he's not an idiot.

Rating: 7/10

However, the context I most like them in is -

6) Kaveh/Alhaitham/Cyno/Tighari

I am an 4ggravate girlie. I love a good poly ship and these guys work very well.

Basically just a combination of everything I've already said:

Alhaitham & Kaveh and Cyno & Tighnari are both in situationships. These are open relationships.

Alhaitham and Cyno (who didn't previously know each other well) start seeing one another in a new light when they're stuck in the desert together for a month fighting against the sages. Feelings ensue.

After the drama, Kaveh realises he wants to make the situation with Alhaitham more concrete because he was worried. He also hangs out with Cyno a lot after Alhaitham and Tighnari kick them out of the infirmary.

So many high stakes and the close companionship makes it so they're all sort of on board with trying a poly sitch. Tighnari seems the type to bring it up first, to Cyno and then to Alhaitham and Kaveh.

Cyno likes the idea but worries a bit that Kaveh and Alhaitham's dynamic would get in the way of an actually healthy relationship.

Alhaitham is a bit iffy cos like - free time, introversion etc, but he does think it would be a good idea to test it out.

Kaveh is pretty totally on board cos all his friends are super hot, though he says "I should have tried using a foursome to force Alhaitham out of his shell ages ago" which actually delays the process quite a lot :'))

Rating: 10/10, Alhaitham gets three boyfriends I cannot see any issues

So in your honest opinion. Which Genshin characters know exactly how cute and adorable they are and have practically weaponized how cute and adorable they are to either get out of trouble or get their way?

Clearly everyone knows saying no to a sweet child like Klee is frankly impossible and she definitely feels the love, but I feel like that just comes from a place of childhood joy and not weaponized cuteness; despite the bombs. Same rules apply to Yaoyao. Ganyu literally has had to get her from Beidou’s boat multiple times.

Mona, Venti, Hu Tao, Childe, Kaeya, Heizou, Lyney, Lisa, and Yelan definitely know they can charm their way through a situation.

Dehya, Yun Jin, Nilou, and Yoimiya naturally have that ability on at all times. They don’t even intentionally do it really. They just say please with real smile or get an embarrassed look on their face that gets them out of situations.

Navia and Furina strike me at the people who would try, fail at first, but somehow later on the person warmed up to it.

I'm bored, so I did this. Again. Includes all playable characters plus Al Haitham, Kaveh, Dehya, Mika, and Paimon.

Using '&' because whatever it's up to the interpretation of the viewer. Some will be longer than others because eh.

Arataki Itto & Sangonomiya Kokomi

PFFT LMAO- He is absolutely not on her level and her social battery would be gone within thirty minutes. Unless they get along, then maybe it would go up.

This dynamic is as 50/50 as a coin toss and I'm here for it.

Nahida & Kuki Shinobu

This would be nice, actually. I can see Nahida being able to destress her a bit and Shinobu would also take care of her. Funny shenanigans in the beginning due to Nahida's looks and mannerisms would be fluffy and quite entertaining.

Solid dynamic.

Yun Jin & Yoimiya

Awww this would be nice to see. Y'all, if you didn't see Yun Jin during Lantern Rite looking at the fire works, you need to watch the video because she would totally do the same with Yoimiya's. They would talk and talk and Yoimiya would make her feel so welcome.

Actually one of her voicelines about Kazuha is like 'people who talk about poetic stuff have great stories and are trying to hide certain things' and Yun Jin absolutely does speak in that way sometimes so her letting down her walls and getting the truth would also be really good.

This would never happen, but it's nice to think about.

Nilou & Kujou Sara

. . . oooh. Oh this could be good. I haven't watched Nilou's story quest yet, but from what I hear, she's extremely intertwined with the community at large. She has a healthy level of dependency on people that is communal and is also quite interpersonally connected.

This contrasts with Sara's solitude and the distance she places on herself from others and any idea of a close relationship. She cares about them and treats them fairly, but she's not all that enthusiastic about the idea of knowing them personally.

In short, I'd pay to see what happens next.

Fischl & Kamisato Ayato

Oh, fuck me, I'm laughing out loud at this.

Instant crackery. Bonus if Ayato tries to cook Oz.

Lisa & Thoma

It's giving honest and loving caretaker and terminally ill charge getting close to death's door in a specific scenario that belongs to a specific niche of content.

Outside of this convoluted take of mine, it'd be very wholesome and very much two care-giving figures taking care of their respective responsibilities AKA the Kamisato siblings and Mondstadt in general.

It makes me feel comfortable and tended to.

Dehya & Yanfei

Dori can absolutely afford Yanfei's egregious prices in the case that Dehya unintentionally busts some heads she ought to have not had in an intense moment or two.

Or Yanfei hires her as a bodyguard while she goes through Sumeru as the Akademiya have a vested interest in her 'disappearing' as they know they cannot win against her as she's helping her client there sue for fraud and memory theft that was totally greenlit by some figureheads in the Akademiya.

In summary: Better Call Saul, but for Genshin Impact.

Rosaria & Yae Miko

. . . would Rosaria be able to not try to kill her over how absolutely suspicious she is? Would she run and hide instead? Could she even do that?

It would be funny up until Yae Miko got drunk in Angel's Share in Rosaria's presence. Would pay to find out if there were casualties.

Mika & Eula

THE WHEEL HAS SPOKEN. HOYOVERSE SHALL PROVIDE.

No but seriously, Eula being canonically terrible with directions and Mika canonically being her cartographer is just peak crack as the potential for clownery is astronomical.

Bonus if some of that confidence rubs off on the kid and Eula can have a proud parent moment for herself. She deserves it.

Bennett & Collei

(cue a whole bunch of awws and coos)

Bennett gets lost and Collei finds him and they go through the forest together with all the hijinks you'd expect. Collei gets another friend and Bennett gets another friend. Everyone wins.

B-but his bad luck- SHUT UP THEY'RE FRIENDS NOW.

Kaedehara Kazuha & Tartaglia

Wow. I don't know what to think about this, to be honest. They wouldn't interact all the time, as Kazuha is hardly sedentary in any way, but every time they do happen to meet, maybe they spar before catching up.

I feel like Kazuha's demeanor would put Childe at ease and on edge at the same time, but Childe also wants to trust him and to be trusting. This is a good thing as Kazuha is very honest and upright despite his initially flowery words.

They part ways with lighter hearts than before, that's for sure.

Ganyu & Barbara

It would have to be through letters because what time do they have to leave their jobs and self-imposed obligations? They'd be very nice and polite to each other but other than that? Nothing much, really.

Lukewarm.

Beidou & Zhongli

I honestly choked when I saw the wheel do this shit to me and I feel like I've expounded on it more than enough on my harem blog, but I will say this:

Beidou will not make the mistake of going shopping with him twice.

Biased as hell, but I would love to see them interact in canon.

Dori & Sayu

Dori would be pretty surprised when Sayu dropped the mora for the price of a high-quality comforter to sleep in. She almost threw in a free pillow out of shock. Almost.

It would happen once, but not ever again.

Faruzan & Chongyun

These two are in completely different fields and lives. Their personalities are so obtuse that it's impossible to see them interact. No one has ever considered these two before. Not even me.

Which is precisely why they would bond over the unfair circumstances that life has thrown against them that were completely beyond their control.

Give us that 300K slow burn complete strangers to comrades fanfic. You know who you are.

And now, for the grand finale . . . spinning the wheel three times each for this one.

Hu Tao & Wanderer

I don't know what this dynamic would be, but sign me the fuck up.

I have finally played through the 3.2 Archon Quest and recollected my thoughts enough to write down my “review” of it, because I do surprisingly have some things to say. Naturally, unreasonably long text and spoilers below the cut, so proceed with caution.

First of all, I will say that the Archon Quest plotline left me with a more positive impression and it had its own share of moments I appreciated. I think the part where Traveller went on little missions with Alhaitham, Cyno and Dehya individually gave a good opportunity to showcase their personalities and modus operandi a little more, and I loved the Scaramouche characterization in the dialogue with him in As by a God's Side, especially his attitude towards Haypasia - he was already a very interesting character to me, but that gave him even more depth, considering his struggle to be accepted and find his place in the world (I am even considering writing out a separate post about Scaramouche character analysis to discuss this further). Another note on characterization - I like the direction Hoyoverse went with Alhaitham and how he was presented to us. In Jnagarbha Day part, where he “betrays” Travelller, while I clocked immediately that he was pulling an Oscar-worthy performance, Alhaitham’s generally sus disposition throughout the entire plot left me with the fainted doubt that he might double-triple-wharever cross us and betray for good for the greater good had the confrontation with Azar not gone according to plan (which I think is borderline canon tbh, he does have a certain “end justifies the means” streak to him). Also, while Nahida is still nowhere near being my favorite character, neither design, nor personality-wise, this Archon Quest gave her some more depth in her more calculating moments - think the battle with Shouki No Kami Scaramouche and her later negotiations with Dottore. I can appreciate how compassionate Nahida is to her people, but that is what I thought was missing from her in the previous Archon Quest, given that she is the God of Wisdom. And, of course, I cannot avoid mentioning the lore information we got at the end of the Archon Quest, both pertaining to Traveller’s sibling and “the sky of Teyvat is fake” thing, which I am glad made a comeback not in a time-limited early game event, hence giving that important (in my opinion) information about the world to all players, and not just lore freaks like me. Traveller’s sibling not being considered a Descender is very intriguing to me, I’ll be honest. I think it may have been some sort of retroactive change, but either way, looking forward to seeing where this is going. Oh, and another theory of mine is that Alice might be a Descender too, but that is something I suspected for a while now.

Now, after I got the positives I wanted to point out separately out of the way, let me talk about some of the issues I had with the 3.2 Archon Quest. There’s really two big problems I want to mention going forward, the first being Nilou’s place in the story. Her involvement in the plan felt somewhat rushed to me, like the developers wanted to include her but weren’t sure on how to do that apart from general ideas. This feeling didn’t gissappear from me even after the flashback to the planning session in Aaru village, where it was shown they had intended to involve her from the beginning, it still looked like they grabbed the first random performer they saw and just… gave her their plan details? Also, don’t get me wrong, I like Nilou and I am glad she was featured in the Archon Quest + the scene where she danced in front of the Academia, and all the students/researchers applauded her, with even the guards hesitating to arrest her was beautiful in my opinion (and made a wonderful point about appreciation for arts being a part of human nature no matter what, and that even the “brainwashing” techniques employed by the Academia would not be able to change that). I guess, what I mean is that I wish she was involved earlier and had more time to actually bond with the rest of the cast. I know she was a big part of a previous Archon Quest, thus the players are already familiar with her, but the same doesn’t apply to Alhaitham and Cyno, so that gave me a bit of a whiplash. If that makes sense. Another issue I have is the one I have seen other people bring up as well - the boss fight with Scaramouche was really underwhelming. The mechanics of the first phase were somewhat confusing to me at first, but I figured that out, what was more disappointing is that the boss himself was too weak? Even without having a full idea on how to fight him properly I basically breezed through him. Ever since the first leaks of Scara’s boss model, people (me included) had a lot of expectations of it, but for me personally none of them were met. The design looked great, but the battle went too quickly, I wish he was stronger. I loved the fight with Childe, and I have a very clear and painful memory of having to redo the fight with Signora four times because she kept kicking my ass, and Balladeer has a higher assigned number in Fatui ranks, which implies he should be stronger, or at least on the same power level as them?

Overall, it was a nice Archon Quest, especially regarding the lore drops, even if some details were lacking to me personally :]

My opinion on every playable Genshin Impact character in a few seconds. [3.1]

The same thing I did a fair while ago with Danganronpa characters, but now for another franchise that I have an unhealthy obsession with. All characters in alphabetical order by first name.

This goes up to version 3.1. The most recently added characters are Cyno, Nilou and Candace.

Thought he was kind of basic at first, and despite his enigmatic writing, didn’t really stand out. As of 2.3 and the event he was featured in, he’s gone up a little. My favourite part about him is his voice actor.

I think she hardly even counts as a Genshin character. I’d probably like her a bit more if I played her original game, but she has basically no character or personality to speak of in Genshin Impact.

She isn’t especially good compared to every other character in the game, but she’s a good introduction to the characters overall. Her personality is fun, and I’m glad she has a small following of her own.

His voice work in every language is fantastic, and the character itself is always a good time. Not only does he have a great personality, funny traits and entertaining moments, he’s a beast in battle and is super fun to use.

She’s a contender for being my least favourite character among the roster, primarily because I don’t like her playstyle and it causes me mental damage. However, I have nothing against the character herself, although there are many who have similar personalities that outshine her.

I don’t play her often any more, because I have more viable physical and Electro units, but she used to be part of my main team, and even now, she’s still a personal favourite of mine among the roster. She’s just an all-around cool as all hell character.

A precious boy. I’m not as crazy about him as most of the fanbase is, but he’s still a wonderful, energy bean who needs to be protected. Still, I can’t say much about him other than that.

I like her design a lot, and her playstyle seems super neat, but since 3.1 has yet to drop, I can’t say much about her character. She’s a definite pull though.

I kinda just...don’t care that much about him. He is one of the first units I used when I started playing, and he is among my favourite Element, being Cryo, but I didn’t get Chongyun’s playstyle back in the day, so I quickly grew sick of using him. His character and personality isn’t bad, but he’s not a character that I’m always excited to see. I also think that his Hangout Event is the weakest of the bunch.

I like her a lot. A WHOLE lot. I will admit however, that she would be a lot better in game if she retained some of her grouchy, tsundere and spiteful personality traits that she showed in the manga. There is an in-universe explanation as to why she changed so much, so I can’t complain, and despite that, she’s still a cool, fun and loveable character, who’s a great introduction to the Dendro element and really fun to play.

If I can be honest, Cyno actually kinda scares me from what we’ve seen of him so far. I have no clue whether he’ll be an ally in the end, or a threat to the traveler. If he’s our friend, then we’ve got ourselves one hell of an ally. If he’s our enemy, then God help us.

I don’t think he’s ever gonna lose his charm, despite how much powercreep he’s been put through. He’s still a cool figure, and is still fun to play. He’s one of the few characters from the original update who to this day is still viable. Can’t go wrong with fantasy batman.

I used to hate her, but it was primarily out of spite, since she was the first character I ever C6′d, and through an unfortunate circumstance (basically, got C6 from grinding Xiao banner). I do understand her charm though, even if she’s not a character I particularly feel like using ever.

Her playstyle ain’t the shit, but her character and voice work totally is. She’s easily one of the most entertaining characters in the main story, even though she’s only on screen for a brief time.

She’s pretty cool and I like her a lot. She doesn’t have much screen time outside of the 2.3 event and her own storyline, but I really want to see more of her. She’s pretty fun to play too.

I don’t like her as much as I thought I would, but I don’t dislike her by any means. However, I feel like her character progression over what’s shown in the events isn’t a strong, nor is it portrayed as well as it should be. She did used to be one of my better Electro units though, so maybe I’ll come back to her one day. Her alt skin is fire too.

It’s an indisputable fact that Ganyu is a DPS queen and a very popular waifu for this game, however, I for one don’t see the appeal of her character. If she was present more in the story, or had any event storylines that revolved around her and explored her character, maybe I’d like her more, but regrettably, what’s been shown of her so far portrays her as a bit one-dimensional.

I’ve built Gorou fully, but to be honest, I’m not, and never have been crazy about him. He’s very situational. On a team where his abilities work, he’s insanely useful, but in literally every other scenario, he’s almost completely useless. In addition, his character’s not particularly notable either. He’s not unlikeable, but he doesn’t seem to have any outlying and important traits. However, with that said, a few of his hangout event endings showed his very sympathetic and human side, which I enjoyed a lot.

I jokingly always talk about how I hate this character, but I don’t. I do however, think she’s a bit annoying, and she’s not a character that I care about much, outside of the charming voice work, and the damage potential.

She’s cool, and a fun mom-figure, even if she’s a little one-note. Her character quest was sweet and fun, and she’s a pretty good unit in battle too. Other than that, I don’t have much to say about her. One thing that does knock her down a peg though is that whenever I lose the 50/50, it’s usually to Jean.

He served as such a great introduction to Inazuma, and to this day, is among the game’s best characters. Not only is he an interesting, well voiced, loveable and sympathetic character, he’s to this day, one of the most useful units in the game due to his swirl abilities. I always look forward to seeing more of Kazuha all the time.

The most interesting character among the starter units, and still has decent use even later, with his ice bridging abilities. His attack animations are cool too, and I really want to try and build him so I can use him in battles. I plan on taking him to fight Dottore with Amber, Collei and Diluc.

The absolute best girl of all best girls. Initially, I planned on skipping for her so I could pull for Yoimiya, but then 2.0 happened, and we got to meet and hang out with her. I fell in love with this girl almost immediately. She’s a solid battler, she has a great personality, her interactions with the Traveler are so god damn adorable, and I always love to see her appear anywhere in the game, because it always makes me smile.

I can’t claim to like him as much as I like his sister, but there’s a lot about him that I do enjoy. His character quest was cool, his playstyle is fun, strong and easy to use, his personality is interesting and unique among the cast, and his voice work is soothing to the ears. A lot of good can be found in this enigmatic character.

I didn’t like Keqing much at all when she was first introduced, but that was primarily because she only had a few scenes in the archon quest, and said scenes didn’t portray her as especially friendly or easy to get along with. That has since been reprimanded with Moonchase and Lanturn Rite, and while I still think Lanturn Rite should’ve put more focus on Ganyu than Keqing, it still provided Keqing with some fantastic character moments and really solidified her as a solid character amongst all others. She’s also really fun to play, even if she’s not particularly viable compared to someone like Raiden.

She’s adorable, and is one of the cutest characters in the game, but she honestly kinda sucks in battle. Her kit isn’t fleshed out, even if her damage is pretty great. There’s also a limit to how much she can be explored as a character, on account of being a young child with not much life experience.

The more Sara appears in storylines and events, the better she becomes. Her first scene portrays her as a commanding, threatening and powerful presence, but hinted at her good morals and righteous nature. Her latest scene shows her human side, and how she’s a huge otaku for the Raiden Shogun, which was super funny and super adorable. She’s not the most viable unit, but she’s still a fantastic character.

Shinobu’s design was like a slap to the face when I first saw it. She was not at all what I expected, but I was so so entranced the moment I saw her. She’s in my top 3 designs among the whole roster of characters. While her playstyle unfortunately isn’t the strongest, she’s still a fun character to play and watch. It’s also fun to see how her personality reflects off Itto’s.

Of the beginning characters, at least currently, Lisa is my least favourite, but only because I think she comes across too strong with her flirtation, and because outside of that, she’s not a character who is explored very much. There is potential for there to be more info on her, given the more we learn of Sumeru’s Academia, and how she used to study there, but in the meantime, Lisa is the exact neutral point in this lineup. I don’t like her, but I don’t dislike her either.

Up until recently, I wasn’t fond of Mona at all. She was kind of snooty, overconfident and always seemed to be looking down on everyone around her, and her character just kind of annoyed me. 2.8 changed my thinking completely, mainly because it showed her doubts about her powers of fortune telling, how she’s depressed over how she can predict the future but not change it, and how she’s not actually poor at all, which resulted in a very funny interaction between her and Fischl. She’s definitely a good one now.

So far, she hasn’t really brought anything new to the table, but I still like her very much. Her design is adorable; so is her personality, and her fighting style looks unique from what we’ve seen of it. I’m definitely gonna try for her.

She’s ok. I remember really being put off by Ningguang because I didn’t understand her playstyle initially, but I enjoyed her hangout event, and she did show to have some cool and interesting moments throughout the story, as Liyue’s de facto leader.

Despite the fact that Noelle has 2 Hangouts, she’s not a character I care much about. She’s definitely cute and sweet, and I definitely like her, but she’s not someone I give much thought when I look at the total lineup of characters.

I get it. I get that there’s the Qurse of Qiqi, and I get that Qiqi is kind of a pointless 5-star, since Barbara can do everything that she can, but even so, I like Qiqi. She’s a silly little character, with a very sad and sympathetic backstory, and I can’t hate her, even if she does steal my pity.

If I must confess something, when I first played 2.1 and got to know her, I REALLY didn’t like Ei much at all. I felt like the character exploration and progression she had in earlier updates wasn’t that great, and I think her first character quest was one of the worst in the game. She was only saved initially by her prowess and usefulness on any team you put her in. However, she was massively saved by the second chapter of her quest, which was phenomenal, and one of the best quests in Genshin’s 2 year history. At this point, Ei is still my least favourite of the archons behind Venti and Zhongli, but due to how Nahida’s story isn’t finished yet, it remains to be seen if she will keep that bottom spot. However, I like Ei a lot now, and I will continue to do so for a while.

Razor is a cool character, and actually serves as an inspiration for one of my D&D characters. His playstyle is a bit confusing and hard to build, but it’s nice whenever he pops up as part of a story, and I’m looking forward to seeing new developments to him in 3.1.

It also took me a while to warm up to Rosaria, but due to character progression she got from Windbloom and also her battle prowess and usefulness, I think she’s pretty cool now. Pun not intended.

It is my genuine and strong opinion that Kokomi is the best-designed character in the whole game. And alongside the fantastic and gorgeous design, she has a sweet voice and useful battle abilities. I don’t think Kokomi was very well received at first, but I pulled her, albeit by accident, and have not regretted that for a day. She is great.

I mean...she’s ok I guess? Honestly, I really don’t have much of an opinion on Sayu. Her hangout was really mediocre and she’s not a character I really care about an awful lot. No hate though, I like her voice, and it’s fun to roll around with her.

She first appeared in 2.4 and has not appeared in the game since then, and I am DESPERATE to see more of her. She was such an interesting character, with a cool and interesting and sad backstory, and her personal journey was so great. She’s also a mean support and DPS unit. #BringBackShenhe.

He’s not what I expected he would be, but he turned out to be pretty awesome. He’s super fun to play as in battle, and useful and strong too. Plus, his hangout was unique and provided some interesting moments.

Much like Shenhe and a few others, Sucrose is hardly ever explored. Whenever she makes an appearance, it’s usually alongside Albedo, and he is more often than not the more central character. She is cute, don’t get me wrong, but there’s not much else to her. She is pretty good in battle though.

I can’t say for sure if this is the case anymore, but Childe was my favourite character when I first started playing Genshin. He’s still one of my personal best boys to this day. I know he’s a certified ass, but I like villains with layers to them, and I like how Childe has a sympathetic side and reason behind his misdeeds. He fights for the Fatui purely because he wants to create a world where his family will be safe and protected. I respect that.

I like him a ton. He has the best hangout event in the game and while he’s not an especially viable unit, he’s still one I enjoy having on hand. His personality is charming and easy to get along with, and his dedication is admirable. He also has a unique relationship with Ayato that I can’t help but enjoy.

He turned out to be a lot better than I thought he would be. From the first lines of dialogue he speaks, he’s immediately an entertaining presence, since he’s very blunt, strict and doesn’t make an attempt to hide his annoyances and grievances with other people. I relate to that honestly. His English voice work sells this very well in addition to that.

I think they’re both pretty cool characters, though I like Lumine’s design a tad bit more than Aether’s. They recently went up a notch in my book, primarily because Dendro Traveler is super fun to play for some reason, above all the other elements they can wield.

Even if he is a mischievous little squirt, it’s hard to dislike him. His voice work is great, his abilities are super fun and powerful, and he’s all around just a very solid character. Of every archon in the game, he’s also the one I think embodies his theme; being Freedom, the best.

She was one of the first characters in the game that I fell in love with, because I thought her design was cute as a button. She was one of the first characters I finished building, and I think that was a good decision. Moonchase was a fun and enjoyable event primarily because of Xiangling’s presence in it, and even now, she’s still one of the cutest and most fun characters in the game.

He was my first 5-star and still easily one of my favs to this day. He’s fun to play, and has some great character writing and backstory.

I didn’t think much of him when he was first introduced, and even now, I’d hardly say he has my favourite personality, but when I finished his character quest, I was surprised by just how much I enjoyed it. Even now, he’s still one of my favourite support units to use in tough battles. I only wish I’d built him sooner.

Her segment of the 2.8 island quest was my favourite part of the whole thing, and even now, she’s hella underrated. Her design is amazing, and the vibe she gives off is so fun-loving. She’s great.

Easily the best part of the whole Inazuma archon quest. She was such an interesting, entertaining, mysterious and funny character through and through. Even by the time she finally became playable for audiences, her own story quest, while paling in comparison to Ei’s, did not disappoint. The defining example of how and why Inazuma characters are the best of the bunch.

Really, I can’t say much about Yanfei. She’s cute, has a nice design and is a kind presence, but she doesn’t stand out much amongst the greater cast, and honestly has no real reason to. Even in the 2.7 archon quest chapter, it’s the other characters that are needed to make her stand out very much. Her relationship with Shinoby, Eula, Madame Ping and others are sweet to watch, and supposedly, she’s a pretty cool pyro unit, better than Klee anyhow.

First of all, she’s insanely hot, and second of all, I was taken by surprise just by how much I ended up liking her. Initially, I didn’t see much, but when the trailers dropped, they painted her in such a powerful and incredible light, that I eventually succumbed to the tactic and pulled for her. Not something I regret either, since Yelan is also one of the most insanely powerful characters in the game.

The autistic part of me resonates so much with her. If there’s one character in this game I relate to and feel the most kinship with, it’s Yoimiya. Even now, she’s in my top 5, and might even be my favourite. No matter where she appears or what she’s doing, she’s guaranteed to bring some sunshine to my life.

I actually quite like her! She’s not a favourite, but she’s definitely up there. Her voice is nice, her playstyle is cool, and her character overall is solid.

The best of the archons in my opinion. He’s got a great personality, he’s fun to play, is very strong, has a fantastic voice, and just is all around one of the best character’s in the game to this day. I WILL HAVE ORDER!

Gracing Your Way Into His Heart Pt. 1 ♡ ⁠~⁠♪◍⁠•

A/N: To be honest, this took me 4-5 days to do, so look forward to part two which will be shorter but lots of fluff aaaaajsjdksncks 💋

You were everything he wished he could be. You were gentle, careful, graceful, captivating, easy on the eyes and so much more. How could a sinner like him even dare be in the same room as you? Breathe the same air as you? Yet he wanted more. So much more. The longing was too much for his empty heart.

When Kafka asked him to tag along with her and Silver Wolf to a theater on some random planet near the Stellaron Hunter base that none of them had been to, Blade declined, deeming it a waste of time.

Yet he found himself with the two of them all disguised, walking into the lively building after much pestering from S.W. and her cute yet mischievous "friends." They did their best to not draw attention as they made it through the lobby, not wanting to be recognized.

Of course, if anyone were to see them, he would take great pleasure in eliminating handling them, but Kafka scolded him before they left claiming he should avoid conflict and let everyone enjoy the "little moments in life before the joy slips away."

“Unnecessary.”

He snarled as the Stellaron Hunters found seats along the middle row, not too elevated but now too flat, just the way Kafka liked it. S.W. was (surprisingly) not on her phone at the moment, obviously bored and waiting on it to start. There’s two minutes until everything begins, yet he already wants out.

“Too many people.” He thought, observing as the auditorium was filled with faces of people who would rather spend their life sitting in a large crowded room, watching the movements of a person they’ve neer seen before Unbelievable.

“Too much noise.” He thought, ears ringing with all the murmurs around him, testing the mara deep inside his heart as they commented on the design of the stage, discussing how the last performance was apparently just amazingly perfect, how the star of the show shines brighter than everyone in the room. Curiosity made its way into his simple minded head.

“Too-” But his thought process was cut short, as he caught a glimpse of ombre hair up on stage, medium length yet just as perfect and petite. He raised his head as the audience fell quiet and he assumed all eyes were now on the stage, all eyes were now on her.

Each step she took was careful, as if the ground beneath her could collapse at any given moment. She made her way to the center, her footsteps so quiet you would notice her if she were to approach your figure and stab you with a dagger. That reference was unnecessary, he realized but quickly tucked it away in his mind as the music started, and so did your movements.

Even he, as a weapon himself, had to admit you were breathtaking. He was sure he had stopped breathing the second you flashed a gentle smile to the audience as if the crowd was your whole world. A smile that he knew he didn’t deserve, that he did nothing to earn, still, it made his heart yearn with longing.

As a Stellaron Hunter, he surely didn't smile, at least genuine ones that weren't forced for the person to stay alive. But he couldn't blame them. He didn't find anything about himself deserving of something so pure. He knew it wasn't meant for him personally, yet- he wanted to see it again.

You twirled across the stage, your long hair floating around your as you moved gracefully. Body light and flexible, every movement flowing seamlessly into the next. You could feel the music flowing through your veins, every note a part of your soul. The audience was hypnotized, unable to take their eyes off the beautiful sight as you danced. You were truly in your element, every step a work of art. You were beautiful. You were powerful. You were too much yet not enough all at once. In a blink of an eye, it was done.

“It was too short.” That was the only thing he could even process as the clapping started, along with the throwing of roses and cheers. He wasn't thinking, never in his life had he been more grateful for the ability to see. He even considered praying to the Aeons. He took a glance at his peers to see Silver Wolf cheering with a smile and Kafka clapping in an elegant manner and a satisfied look. He turned to the stage again as you took a graceful step forward and curtsied in appreciation.

He felt a sense of longing as you made your way out of everyone's sight and backstage, wishing you would at least gift them a glimpse of that precious curve of your mouth once more. But he was grateful, the most grateful he had ever been. The theater was starting to clear out but he didn’t even notice. His gaze was still on the stage, where you had been warming everyone’s heart a moment ago. He was… confused, to say the least. He had never felt something like this before and he wouldn’t mind feeling it again. But he’s a weapon. He’s not meant to feel, he’s not meant to have interests, he’s not meant to— want.

“—LD MAN!”

S.W. exclaimed, one of her “friends” waving their little hands in front of Blade's face as he finally came back into reality. He looked up to see both women had gotten up from their seats and stood in the aisle, the three of them the only ones in the auditorium. S.W. had a concerned expression which was the complete opposite of the amused look on Kafka’s face as she chuckled and shook her head. He was sure she knew what was going on with him but he would ask. He knew Kafka too well to know he wouldn't get a straightforward answer from her.

“Hm, it seems that Blade enjoyed the show. Don't worry about it too much Wolfie. Now let's get back to the base, we don't want Elio nagging us about leaving for too long, no?”

Kafka starts walking back to the lobby with Silver Wolf lingering for a moment before following while glancing back at Blade. After a few dragging seconds, he got up. He got up and followed, shifted, and walked before somehow finding himself in his dark, bland, basic room which was such a contrast compared to your enchanting soul.

He was cultivated by you. He was caught up in your web, in your dance, in your eyes, he was hooked, strung along your figure. He suddenly realized how empty he had felt inside. He realized how big the void in his heart was, and how utterly lonely immortality is. But it is his price to pay. It's his and his alone, for he must pay the price.

He sinned, he's a monster, an abomination who's been struck with mara. A monster who takes pleasure in the suffering of others. He can't control himself at times, and he's dangerous. He's a wanted criminal, bounty higher than life networks. He's a weapon. He wasn't even supposed to feel anything— but instead you decide to cast a spell on him? A spell that makes his heart thump until it physically hurts?

He used to be pure. He used to be the one making the blade, not wielding it. He used to have white, clean, held up hair. He used to be gentle, soft, generous and considerate. But who could ever consider him as a love interest with all the blood on his hands, with all the screams of the dead in the back of his mind. Would you even stand in the same room as him without trembling in fear?

Now he's getting ahead of himself. He's being delusional. A love interest? You most likely didn't even know he existed. Or perhaps you could, considering the bounty on his head. It would be even worse that way, if you really did know who he was. He prayed you didn't. But now he's frustrated with himself, with the world. You most likely had hundreds if not thousands of admirers, he could take note of that because of all the roses thrown at the stage that evening... Roses?

—Flowers. The beauty in them are undeniably alluring and calming. Just like you. Just like his heart as he felt your presence deep inside his soul. His mind refers back to when Kafka had forced him and S.W. along with Sam to start a "book club", which was really all of them reading her favorite books. One of them showed how happy and captivated the female lead was once the male lead brought her flowers. And they weren't roses, they were a curtain color that represented what he felt for her.

Pink. As he scrolled through his phone, he found that the color on flowers represented admiration, thanks, and affection. Those were all the things he felt for you. All the things he wanted to keep feeling, for you and you only. But would you accept him? He had to approach you eventually if he wanted anything with you, but he couldn't.

He knew he would scare her off if he suddenly came to her, proclaiming he was bedeviled by her and craved her presence. He knew he would have to plan this carefully, and he knew he had to wait.

He pulled out the chair at his desk and took a seat, opening the drawer to pull out paper, a pen, a seal, and an envelope. He didn't know how long he was sitting there for, considering that he was quite literally in space so outside looked the same, but he didn't care. He couldn't give up on you. You made him feel a comforting warmth he knew he'd never get anywhere else. When he had finished, he looked over it with a soft, satisfied gaze. He was surprised with himself, honestly.

To you, wonderfully graceful dancer,

As I watched you move, it seemed as if time itself stood still. Your graceful, flowing movements, the way you seem to float on the stage, it all captivated me. I felt as if I was under a spell, and you were the magician, casting your spell with your every move. I have never been so entranced by anyone before, and I fear I will never see your like again.

I find myself unable to stop thinking about you, your every step, every move, etched into my memory. Sometimes I catch myself humming the tune of the music you danced to, and I cannot help but smile, thinking of you.

For I am a sinner, but aren't we all? That's what makes us human, no? We can't be perfect. But when I look at you I think otherwise. Nothing about you could ever be unnerving.

I don't believe I could ever convey in words the depth of my feelings for you, but I hope this letter will convey some measure of it. You have absolutely consumed my thoughts, and I know that I am at your mercy. I am at your mercy, and I am yours, body and soul, should you choose to have me.

He knew he couldn't let go, either. It's impossible to not think of you without feeling the uncomfortable emptiness inside his heart. He couldn't let anyone else hurt you either. Aeons forbid someone put their hands on you and walk away with no consequences the first time...

Surprisingly, he used his phone as he shipped the letter to a bouquet delivering business that would send you over 200 pink roses along with the letter to your theater on that planet.

Yes, 200+ pink roses, yes the money came from his own allowance he rarely uses, and yes, he was satisfied. He got some curious looks from Elio the next day, Blade assumed he noticed the purchase from his account, not that he cared. Though now he had to wait.

He'll keep sending roses(a lot less but more that 7 at a time), he'll keep writing letters, all until your ready to see him. He'll try not to miss a show, if he has to he'll write so in the letters and send you extra roses along with some chocolate.(He hopes you're not allergic)

He'll wait until you give him a sign. A sign you're ready to see him, a sign you'll accept him for who he is. But he noticed how you were more expressive on stage after his first letter. So he knows it'll be soon. It's all you to you.

Hello! Could I ask about your thoughts on Chiori? I've never been much of a geo type of person but I just did her trial run and she was insane lol

Hi there! thanks for this ask

I think her gameplay looks and feels really nice. Swapping characters mid-air is just so cool and although not the most practical, could make for some interesting combos

As for her kit design, if i'm being honest it's not my favorite. First off, the restrictions. Personally I don't mind restrictions and they have been done really interestingly (chevreuse, nilou) but with Chiori it just feels like you're being forced to play certain characters. Nilou and Chevreuse unlock entirely new playstyles for a lot of characters but Chiori's restrictions are really just locking some of her damage behind certain characters. There also aren't many geo constructs (and geo characters in general) which makes it feel even more limiting. To me, the restrictions in Nilou and Chevreuse's kits create new combinations of characters whereas Chiori's restriction only limits her teams.

As for her skills, I also find them a bit underwhelming. A skill that deals damage off-field and a burst that deals one large hit of damage really pale in comparison to the awesome and unique kits we've gotten recently. Speaking of skills, she's very similar to Albedo which is also something I dislike. In the past, we've gotten Yelan who is incredibly similar to Xingqiu. But the power levels of both of these characters made having a "second Xingqiu" almost convenient. But Albedo isn't a broken or super interesting character, making Chiori's implementation feel a lot worse than Yelan's

My final gripe with her kit is her C1. It feels like Wriothesley all over again, a decent character whose playstyle is limited at C0. Before she was released, a lot of her gameplay included Navia. But in reality, she can't be used with Navia until C1. This was obviously done as a way to advertise her C1 but it's pretty disappointing

Power level wise, she seems fine but pretty niche. Not insanely broken but not terrible. Had they gone a different direction with her kit, it might have been easier to make her stronger because it wouldn't be blatant powercreep

I don't want to just complain so I'll share what I would have liked to see from her

She's a fashion designer so she obviously uses lots of colors of fabric in her work. To highlight this important aspect of her character, I would have chosen a playstyle that encourages the use of multiple elements. Using multiple different elements to form a cohesive strategy would represent sewing pieces of fabric together, creating a final design

I would do this by allowing her to empower the crystallize reaction. Depending on the element of the crystallize shield, she would grant a different buff, similar to how Scara's skill absorbs elements or how Nahida's burst buffs her skill. This would allow her to have a more flexible playstyle while still working with Navia and making geo more viable in the process

Eyes on you

Dance. The ultimate art with no true level of entry, yet a limitless ceiling of possibilities that brought inspiration and wonder blooming. Just now, Nilou did her final twirl of her performance that hopefully sprouted new and old visitors alike that cheered for her. The young dancer humbly smiled and took a bow before exiting the stage. Another show well done.

As she walked behind stage, Nilou was pleasantly caught off guard by Aether holding a bouquet of red and white flowers she wasn’t familiar with. This made her smile grow all the wider with interest.

Aether:There’s the birthday girl.

Nilou:Awe, these are gorgeous! You didn’t have to get me these. I would’ve been thrilled seeing you cheer for me.

Aether:I watched from back here.

Nilou:*red* Oh. Well hehe, what did you think?

Aether:I always find myself going quiet when you dance. It kinda feels like you’re telling a story. I couldn’t tell you exactly about what…but I always find myself feeling relieved, happy even. *blushes* I love your dances.

Nilou knew she was smiling like a fool, but she couldn’t help it! If she was being honest with herself, she would love to know everyone’s personal thoughts to this extent. Not just for self improvement or any form of ego, but to better understand the connections she built. With Aether, she was glad their connection was so genuine and joyful.

Aether:Are you free the rest of the night?

Nilou:I am. Why~

Aether:Let’s walk together, just the two of us.

How could she possibly say now? After the final curtain call and her fellow performers convincing Nilou to not help clean up on her birthday, the girl walked with Aether through the forest path while holding onto his arm as they talked; catching up all the way until they made it to shifting sands.

Nilou:So they’re from Mondstadt?

Aether:Yeah. Windwheel Asters and Cecilias. I thought they’d match us pretty well and give you new flowers to learn about.

Nilou:I see. If that’s the case…

She took an Aster and put it in Aether’s hair while placing a Cecilia tucked into her hair on the right. Aether blushed again, smiling as the stopped at an oasis where they both sit.

Nilou:Now we both carry a bit of each other.

Aether:Keep saying things like that and I might pass out. It’s embarrassing…

Nilou:Says the one telling me my performance leaves them speechless. That’s some flattery. So, overall, how’d you rate your time here?

Aether:Do I count the five months I was here on loop?

Nilou:Ah, forgot about that. Okay so things for you must be pretty surreal.

Aether:It wasn’t all bad. Definitely wouldn’t want to loop again but it was pretty interesting meeting you so many times. I think it’s the only reason I was able to talk to you comfortably so quickly when it ended.

Nilou:Anything back then you still haven’t gotten the chance to tell me again?

Aether:Ummmmm

Nilou:Oooo c’mon deep breaths. If you did it once then you know you have the courage.

Aether:It’s just…it felt a little awkward to say it. Also putting it into words last time was hard to describe, but now that we know each other more, it makes what I said feel truer. Feels heavy.

Nilou:You’re beginning to make it sound as serious as “I love you.”

Aether:……

Nilou:…..*crimson* You said that five months into knowing me?

Aether:We talked a lot, and the loops were very stressful. Near the end I sorta blurted it out. It was pretty embarrassing.
