Ssksksk- So how did you start writing headcannons? I can semi do it- (I was the anon who did the “Just Dance” thingy) but I don’t know how to format/ if I should post/ what to tag it with
Oh dear anon, let me tell you.
I read a lot of fanfics before I even considered writing, just so I knew what others where writing and how they were doing it (but I’m a quick learner so it may be different for you). The first post I made on here was something I wanted to write. I just thought of what I’d want when I read something like it.
My format has always been pretty similar to what it is now.  My format now:
Title (I’m absolute crap at naming things so sometimes I’ll just leave it blank until I think of something)
Anime: *The anime its from*
Style: *whether it’s a headcannon, drabble or one shot (Drabbles are like one-shots but shorter)*
Genre: *is it fluff (cute and nice), angst (sad, maybe a little violent) or smut (sexual topics/full on sex)*
Warnings: *Anything you think can trigger people* (Please, please, please put some kind of warning, especially for anything that includes rape/non-consensual activities, I’ve accidentally read fics like this because there was no warning and it was so disturbing)
-Picture of the character-
*A cute nick name* (then there real name here so people don’t get confused). But if I’m just doing one character I don’t normally think of nicknames and will skip this step entirely.
Then the heacannon is here.
As for if you should post it, I think if it makes you uncomfortable then you shouldn’t post it. I personally don’t post rape/”non-con” stuff simply because I physically can’t write it without having a panic attack and I do not ever want to fetishize rape
As far as tagging, I’d really just think about what you’d search for if you wanted to find your fanfic
Some of these may include: ___ x reader _____ x y/n ____ x you and so on and so forth
Also little tip if you’re using a laptop/mobile site, always click the things that come up under “popular”, if you click the things above your fic won’t come up when someone searches for it.
(An example of this might be)  *random person*: searches “____ x reader”
if you didn’t click “popular” for “____ x reader” , your post won’t come up.
Little things I wished I knew before I started writing Fan-fiction
You can edit a post even after you’ve posted it
Using google doc’s is really helpful because tumblr doesn’t have spell check
Everyone’s extremely nice so don’t worry if you think you’ll get hate comments
The Tumblr population is mostly female and non-binary (not everyone is though, theres plenty of guys, I just tend to see more “hers” and “theys”) so don’t worry about getting an unsolicited D-pic (especially if you only post fanfiction)
You don’t only have to post, you can re-blog or make jokes. People don’t mind
It’s ok to write what you want and stay in your comfort zone (but try and branch out every once and a while, you may find a writing style you like)
And... that’s all, I hope this helped, honestly, this would’ve helped me a lot.
