Toshiro/Shuro is overhated

(mirror of my thread on twitter)

ever wanted to talk abt something so bad but u have so many thoughts so u cant even begin to organize a sentence. thats me abt shuro and its why i cant give my thoughts on him. i NEED to get this out of my system bc its takign up so much memory in my brain i need that space for thinking.

so i was really surprised to find so much hate for him even tho he seems pretty normal and rational out of the whole cast. ive deducted that its mostly abt his laios fight and that the ppl who hate him probably had bad experiences w social cues and relationships w neurotypicals bc of that. theres no way to avoid it bc its pretty much Right In Your Face that laios is ND. but thats not the only factor in why their relationship is rocky. its also the culture barrier. u have to understand toshiro was raised as JAPANESE NOBILITY ofc he would be a little conservative

also culture shock. idk if u know this but jp culture is very Mind Your Own Business like a lot of other asian cultures . ofc hes gonna be weirded out by a stranger invading his space. also his names not even Shuro. its just yt ppl not pronouncing his name right and settling for whats easiest.

ok you get the gist of the culture aspect of it. lets go into the ND/NT clash aspect of it. yes i understand its pretty hurtful to never be told when youre acting inappropriately. i am autistic too lmao. but you have to understand that shiro is one guy and he even does realize that repressing things is one of his fatal flaws. again. asian culture. non confrontational. that sorta thing. but these are genuine frustrations. if i were him id be annoyed too but id speak out about it. set boundaries. bc im blunt. shiros not. he was taught crazy strict manners (hierarchies, respect, politeness, etc).

his problem isnt ableism its a culmination of culture barriers, how he was raised to behave, and terrible lack of communication as thing caused by "all of the above" plus he just generally keeps to himself a lot which means repressing frustrations that will explode leading to a pathetic fistfight while hes starved, exhausted, and dehydrated. also. if he was ableist he would hate laios. he doesnt hate laios. at the end of the day, they are friends. NT and ND ppl can be friends u know. there will be rifts (like their fight) but you just have to communicate misunderstandings. theyre gonna be fine lol

anyways that was my whole spiel abt it. i think i got everything out that i wanted to? my head still feels a little full so i may add more later when i remember something

also i think its a little unfair to rule out the possibility of laios and him just being 2 very different kinds of ND bc its very common for misunderstandings to occur even then. EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT BUT WE NEED TO COMMUNICATE TO UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER! but for the sake of interpreting the Fight as a commentary on NT social rules and ND frustration, ill say toshiros NT. will we ever know? hes so far in the sidelines... youd really have to dig in the extra content to see the intricacies of his character.... please give him a chance

Okay so im gonna just throw randomly my thoughts on sm6 while rewatching it cuz why not, I was doing the same thing for hazbin hotel so why not spooky month too?

So yeah, SPOOKY MONTH 6 SPOILERS WARNING‼️

Ok im just gonna say: that starting scene with thieves was kinda funny. Also rewatching it, im starting to suspect that this giant spider thing in Lilas attic have her husbands soul, IDK WHY, I JUST FEEL LIKE IT, it just looks so important, it even appeared twice in the ep: in the begining n in the end.

Also ARE WE JUST GONNA IGNORE HOW JAUNE CALLED LILA "HOT-STUFF"??? WHILE HAVING A HUSBAND?????? A HUSBAND THAT SITTING NEARBY HER WHEN SHE SAYING THAT???????? ARE THEY IN A POLY RELATIONSHIPS HOLY FUCKING SHIT????????????? IM EVEN MORE INTRIGED NOW

Okay so Skid does know and remember his dad, I just was thinking that his father left/died when Skid still wasnt born or when he was very little so Skid doesnt even know that he had a father, but no he does remember his dad, so that means he presented for quite long time in Skids life.

Also im really suprised how big Pumps house is, well i mean— he said that his parents work alot so ig i shouldnt be suprised-

ALSO the fact that ppl started coming in the store ONLY after Radford sprinkled holy water in it-- DOES THAT MEAN THAT THERE WERE DEMONS IN IT THAT WERE KEEPING PPL AWAY???

Okay but the way how Skid n Pump were SO exited to see Moloch again was really funny n cute at the same time

Okay... This is the part when i literally teared up. I know it was just Moloch trying to fool Father Gregor to give him kids but idk.... It still made me tear up for some reason, and i even know the reason: i just miss Dexter so much n i didnt expect him to appear so much times in this ep, I just think hes a precious boy who deserved better. I KNOW THAT HE WAS KILLING ANIMALS N I DONT APPROVE THAT AT ALL, but hes still a sweetie idfc.

Also why would Patty need a gun so immediatly?..

Also that part when Moloch were wandering around the town n Father n spooky bois were trying to catch him was so funny and entertaining

AND OMG THIS PART WHEN MOLOCH POSSESED SKID N PUMPS BODIES AND THE FATHER EXORCISMS THEM WAS SOOOO COOL, I DONT EVEN KNOW WHY, I THINK I JUST HAVE A THING FOR DEMONS N EXORCISM.

And this is the part where i actually cried alot. Poor Skid doesnt know that its not his fault at all.. Also even if Father Gregors words were kinda mean, that Lila is irresponsible mother, I cant disagree with them. Yes, she is an alone mother, but it doesnt give her permission to just leave her child to himself n his friend n go drink n then spent time w her child drunk. Yeah i know, that she leaves him to mr Wonder n Susie, but lets be honest, were here even a single time when the kids didnt just leave the house n cause problem? No. So i think the Fathers words are make perfect sense, n Lila should think bout it. Also a lil thing i just thought bout, why would Lila throw away her husbands stuff? If he actually died why would she do this? Or hes not dead n he just left for some reason? Idk

Also OMFG THAT OOGA BOOGA JUMPSCARE GOT ME SO FUCKING GOOD, I WASNT READY FOR AT ALL

thoughts on Zhao ? are u as shocked as I am that Iroh never ended up killing him with his own bare hands ? do u think he was bummed he never got to ?

HONESTLY?!!!!! we have a complicated relationship. i really like zhao as a villain and i say that so very honestly. i think people make him out to be a lot stupider than he really is but at the same time he really is stupid in the way that evil men are always stupid. i think hes extremely despicable and hideously vain and his vanity clouds his judgement and causes him to make rash decisions.

this is all stuff we know about him already though its just that somehow that makes him come off as less scary to fans somehow?? but theres nothing scarier than a big loud man with a temper when youre a teenager with trauma from a dad like ozai. that agitation he so easily draws out of zuko is familiar to me.

i think that the way he makes himself seem SOOO above zuko while simultaneously licking ozais boots to get more power makes him even more ridiculous. and in an ironic way yeah because of all that i think hes a moron but unironically no i dont think hes stupid at all. it doesnt take a stupid man to work your way through the viper nest thats the fire nation high court. i dont think it takes an idiot to find wan shi tongs library and somehow manage to slither back out alive despite clearly lying to wan shi tongs face under his own roof. i dont think it takes an idiot to deduce who the blue spirit is. however it DOES take an idiot to think that killing the moon spirit to be rid of waterbenders when you come from a literal island nation in the tropics and your military relies heavily on its navy and you LITERALLY are using an armada to launch this grand attack

but then however comma yeah i do honestly agree with the popular vote that him going out of his way to harass and intimidate zuko is very slimy and strange and based on zukos immediate attempt at evading him this is something that has been going on for a While and the fact that iroh didnt notice or whatever really bothered me. Maybe its just because im an older sibling and i take that shit serious whenever kids are discomforted in the presence of specific adults (specific Men really) but whatever. i honestly doubt bryke wrote zhao with #that kind of weirdness in mind but that doesnt change the fact that hes a slimeball and iroh shouldve mollywhopped him right in his fat forehead. thats just what i personally wouldve done though like idk. like he is definitely the kind of adult i would keep a specific eye on because bitch!!!! hes just very unusual as hell and when youre a guardian looking after a kid then you need to keep an eye out for shit like that seriously

(one day ill make a post discussing how much more at ease zuko is in the presence of only women btw. One Day.)

and yes i DO wish that we got a missing scene or whatever with iroh and zuko after zhao Literally blew zuko and his whole ship and everything he owns up. like do you know how infuriating that is. waited until iroh and the crew were down the road to get zuko alone in his fucking pjs. a whole group of grown ass pirates doing all that with bombs for revenge over one bratty 16 yr old. i DO wish we saw some of irohs rage during the siege bleed back and forth from "anger over the moon spirit being killed" and "anger over you also nearly killing my fucking nephew" just as well anon.

and the fact that zhaos ambitions were centered on making himself more powerful and admired and he was doing literally everything to get zuko out of the way to make that happen when zukos reasons for capturing aang were so much more desperate and sad (not that that makes it ok but yall know what i mean). Like its just sooo aggravating and thats when i stop caring about how cool Zhao The Conqueror is as a villain and when i start wanting to pummel him with a cartoonishly large hammer

The thing about S1 Jamie that I think is interesting is I think on rewatch there is some insight as to why Jamie went so hard on the bullying of Sam. (Not gonna be defending Jamie's treatment of Sam just looking into maybe why). Because out of all of the things Jamie did is season one. The one that seems hardest to understand or really forgive is his treatment of Sam. The first time around, you couldn't understand it. Sam is legitimately the kindest man in existence. (I know as a stroyteller it was the easiest way to really get us to dislike Jamie and really make us more understanding of Roy's treatment of Jamie which to be frank is not great and understand Ted's fruatrations with him) and Sam just keeps trying with Jamie.

But know I think it far to say thay S1 Jamie was jealous of Sam and his easy going, happy, postive nature. I dont think he was aware of it though.

Season 1 Jamie is so interesting because on paper, he had everything he thought he wanted. But I dint think he was overally happy. But yeah it seemed to be all his way

1. He played for the team he grew up supporting and dreamed of playing for. I imagine his first time stepping on that fiels in that uniform would have been monumental. Sure, maybe he wasn't a starter, but he got some minutes and the unspken agreement that in a few years, he would be a star.

2. I imagine he was initially disappointed to be loaned out, but then he learns he is being loaned to Richmond. Yeah they suck, but he gets to play a full 90 minutes, is basically going to be the best player, kick most of thier goals and he gets to be team mates with Roy Kent (he dreamed of playing against him one day, with him is a dream come true, I really think pre show Jamie would have been so excited to play with Roy Kent and was so disappointed in how it turned out). Plus, it has the added advantage of getting him away from his dad. And once his done his loan, he can come back to Manchester. This is his chance to get away from it for a while and be the star

3. He meets and gets to date Keely Jones who his always had a crush on. Dhe is literally a dream girl for him

So he should be happy right. His got everything he wanted, but it's not going the way he expected because.....

1. Roy Kent hates him (in my mind Roy was standoffish from the start, heres come this whizkid who was everything he used to be and slowly losing. I think Jamie came in at 100% and immediatley put Roy on the back foot). Jamie tries with Roy but the more it doesnt work the more Jamie goes OK, if I cant make him like me I will show him I am better than him. Hence the beginning of that relationship.

2. Yeah his away from his dad and his killing it at Richmond, scoring their goals, winning them matches but it only seems to be winning over half the team (he can't see yet his attitude is what is stopping the other guys from liking him). And the team still isn't doing great even with him. Plus he may be away from his Dad but his relationship with his mum feels like it in a werid place which sucks cause she is his favourite person ever.

3. And Keeley seems to be where its going right but sometimes it feels like his a bit of a project for her. And I think he has heard people (like Roy) question why she is with him.

And let's face it, he is still likely hearing from his dad when he doesn't perform up to his standards.

And then heres Sam. Who (at this point in time) isn't playing well, isn't scoring goals, not massively contributing to thier wins and yet he seems so genuinely happy all the time and everyone loves him, Roy Kent seems to like him and is friendly with him, complimenting him (which he has never done to Jamie). Sam is so open and kind he has probably talked about his dad in the locker room, and his relationship with his family seems perfect and that must gnaw at Jamie because all he ever wanted is to make his dad proud and his pretty sure he will never achieve it because the man is a d***k who is impossoble to please, yet Jamie never stops trying and things are werid with his mum which he hates. But all he hears when its brought up from Sam is how great his family is.

Then along comes the new gaffer who Jamie can't even understand why he is coaching, but he also seems to love Sam and wants him to be the decoy so Sam can kick the goal. Even though Jamie knows if he kicks it, it will go in.

Now we all know the reason Sam is liked is because he is an amazing, kind hearted, dedicated person, but I think S1 Jamie is so jealous and does not even know it.

Because S1 Jamie is still living with the notion that being the best in the most important thing ( thank you James Tartt Sr) so to Jamie he is out here busting his ass at training to be the best, scoring all the goals yet Sam seems to be the one who is living what he thought his dream time at Richmond was going to be. And I know I mention it but I think it is a big thing for Jamie, the harder he tries the more Roy seems to despise him, and take enjoyment in his embarrassment.

And S1 Jamie in all maturity handles his jealously by trying to make Sam feel as bad as he is feeling. Which Jamie, baby. That's kindergarten mentality. And poor Sam actually thinks Jamie is a great player and would love to learn from him in the beginning and isnt having a great time either.

But yeah. I dont think Jamie ever disliked Sam. I think he was insanly jealous of him all the time and didn't know how to handle that or even admit it himself.

What i love about this specific moment in sonic prime s3 epi4 is that it shows sonic really does know what hes done and is fully aware that half of the things that have happened are HIS fault. In this part he thinks that this is also his fault all because he couldnt run fast enough to save them and this leads to him thinking about everything hes done for all of this to happen.

Then Knucks tries to change his mind, knucks knows full well that sonic has done somethings that caused all of this to happen but he wants sonic to be ok, to be able to fight. But he also wants sonic to believe that just because he couldnt run fast enough doesnt meant that its his fault tails and mangey are 'dead' and thats something he believes himself.

Then sonic goes on to disagree with knucks. He knows that knucks and rebel think that all of this was his fault but he also genuinely thinks that tails and mangey being gone is all his fault, no matter what someone says even if they have a good point. He doesnt see that knucks and rebel believe that tails and mangey is his fault because in the moment all he can think about his everything he's done to get himself and everybody else in this situation.

And then this part he knows that if he had NEVER touched the prism in the first place knucks, rebel, nine and everybody else wouldnt even be alive. He knows it's his fault they had such horrible lives and he's the fault of that and it really does hit him hard. Sonic's normally the kind of guy (well hedgehog) to shrug this kind of stuff of but all of the things that have happened in the past few days for him must have been sitting on top of him like a pile of boulders and must have finally squashed him.

But when Dr. Deep comes in he doesnt even care about the condition Sonic's in. All he wants to do is fight Nine and the reason for that is because he wants what i guess you could call revenge on Nine because it's 'All Sonic's fault'. He wants to fight because of Sonic and he wants Sonic to know that. Pretty much, Dr. Deep isn't a good comforter despite his yoga and blah blah blah. (I had more to say here but i cant put it into words)

AND HERE, IT BREAKS MY HEART. Sonics face SHOWS the realisation of everything hitting him at once. The prism fight in the cave at the start, his first experience with New Yoke and remembering what happened when he was about to touch the shard but then completely pushing it down as he went into Boscage Maze. He goes onto himself and flicks through everything that has happened and fully realises that even if he had help fix the problems, they all started because of HIM. And the three arguing in the back but then Sonic blocking them out also shows that he really is thinking about everything and that it really affects his mood in a negative way.

Then it all comes crashing down on his even more as he tries not to cry and wipes away the tears, not wanting to seem weak and just wanting to show that he's strong. Sonic wants everyone to think that he's this big strong hedgehog and that he doesn't cry or get overwhelmed by the things that happen in his life and this shows that. He cracks but he doesn't want the other to see. As he stands up after wiping away his tears he goes to immediate masking and trying to show that he's 'angry' and has an idea to defeat Nine. The others never saw sonics sadness and breaking so they never know that this really hits him hard but this really does show his character development and how we all actually thought he was this strong character that didn't get affected by anything but he clearly does here and in most of all of season 3.

Also if u read all of this thank you <3 im a rambler and i probably kept repeating myself but i wanted to post all of this because i was re-watching sonic prime and it came across me so yeah. imma stop yapping now :)

-I like to think that post-mh hes even MORE emotional and affectionate and he fears so much abt losing you like he Has to be with you everywhere besides when hes at work and when hes at work the only thing he has on his mind is if your safe or not

-he gets home rly late afternoon and immediately greets you with so many little kisses and hugs, picking you up and spinning you around

-the only person he really has left is you (besides jessica ofc but your the only one keeping him stable) and he would blame himself for so long if not forever if you somehow managed to be gone

-a lot

-u feel his beard on the back of your neck.nph my god guys

-Anyways if your afab and have periods Like me he would worry so much i think. Constantly being like "Stay in bed im not letting you be in pain And walk at the same time." cause hes so overprotective imo

-Speaking of overprotective in public he would always wrap his arm around your waist. he never really used to like that stuff cause he doesnt like pda. he still doesnt like pda that much BUT post-mh he would need you in his sight almost at all times (especially in public). Though if you tell him to give you space he gladly will because hes nice :-)

-Poor guy has so many nightmares, specifically about losing you or about how he lost brian and jay. oh you comfort him? he cries.

-He cries and cries until tears no longer fall, and if you cry with him it will make it worse. He used to be very closed off about his emotions, but with you hes able to open up so much more.

-he kisses your scars and you kiss his scars back. end of story

-honestly only loves winter/snow when its with you. he likes the cold better then he does humid heat.. both of them are horrible to him either way. But with you he loves snowball fighting n stuff and as soon as he notices you shivering he brings u back inside immediately

-Doesnt shave as often cause he doesnt really gaf anymore. he occasionally trims his beard but rarely shaves it nowadays. he also grew out his hair down to his shoulders and absolutely loves when you play with it like hes all giggling and kicking his feet

-masky is way more protective i think, but not as affectionate. would love doing acts of service for u though and possibly a bit of cuddling if your really upset. most of the time he would be silent and "emotionless" (he does have emotions i know this) but when he does get upset he refuses to let you comfort him for a long while until he gives in

-tim absolutely loves singing to you, possibly even singing or humming you to sleep.

-Tim honestly likes any cuddle position, sometimes he really wants to be little spoon even if your smaller or bigger then him it brings him so much joy. also likes to sleep with you on top of him a lot

- pete hates his horns with a passion. steph thinks theyre kind of cute when he doesnt try to shave them off or rip them out. pete would rip them out if he was sure they didnt connect to his brain like some goat horns do

- similarly, grace adores her eyes/newfound sight 99% of the time. until The Horrors. she cant bring herself to go back to camp idonwannabang.. or look the jerries in the eye

- ted has full custody over pete and acts as a pseudo parent. hes a solid 15 years older, and generally acts like a teen boy with pete. silly goofy guy who has some issues hes not ready to face and a tendancy to drink !

- jenny... is there. somehow. she misses ted a lot and genuinely wants to come back to hatchetfield for him. she just... can't

- steph and nibbly have a weirdly tight knit relationship. treats her like a lapdog. think a maltese with dyed-pink fur and you have steph

- grace is blinkys coworker. she has half as many eyes as him. blinky has 999 eyes. grace has 499.5. one of her eyes is mostly blind, but not entirely. she doesnt know this number

- richie and ruth Are There. so is max. none of our three know this. webby knows. wiggly and pokey know. they're the only ones. not even they themselves know that theyre still there. they lie dormant for now

- hannah, daniel and sophia are attached at the hip. the only reason sophia hasnt shown up yet is because shes rich and homeschooled. they see eachother more than their families. sophia and daniel are hannahs only outlet for webby, now, and theyre both quite familiar with her

- daniel can hold his breath for 10 minutes on average. hannah is the only one who can time him. this can get complicated when holding your breath stops time

- webby is trying desperately to reach lex constantly. lex is doing her best to ignore her, but its getting harder. webby needs something from her.

- grace has watched richies funeral 376 times. she's counted. she can recite to you exactly what each person says and does

- paul is having some trouble with his hearing after richies death. he wasn't that close with his nephew, but the loss is still hitting him. he can only hope its shock. something tells him its not.

- emma is also having trouble with her hearing. she has not told paul, and she will not tell paul. she will not be losing her hearing like her sister. even if it doesnt feel like thats the cause of it, she won't.

- speaking of, i made jane hard of hearing. i dont know why exactly it fits her in my mind, but it does. her and her family are mostly fluent or entirely fluent in american sign language, as is emma. she wears hearing aids

- the three learn sign language. from who? stay tuned and put your guesses down below ‼️

- alice has had vision problems since she moved to clivesdale a few years back. her vision was always bad growing up, and now its... perfect. shes having trouble keeping up the lie to everyone.

- bill and alice really do love eachother i swear. but she doesnt like him much. theyre trying. deb is too. they really are.

- jenny doesn't like the color yellow. she never has. teddy used to. she's not sure if he still would. it makes her head hurt to look at.

- pete hates pants. pete only owns pants. his basketball shorts are actually a pair of stephs, that used to be maxs.

- max is scared of the dark. this was a closely held secret in life. steph finds herself turning a nightlight on for him without thinking about it.

- max didn't have a funeral. his body wasn't buried- instead kept as evidence then tossed out when nobody came to collect it. jason, kyle, stacy and brenda had a small service for him by the lake when they were told he'd been murdered. jason was the only non-cop to see maxs' body after he was dismembered and left at the waylon place

- grace spends more time at the waylon place than she does at home. she finds a strange comfort in it now that it's completely off the market.

- the many quick-succession deaths put the waylon place and its haunting back into the forefront of peoples minds. the town is collectively afraid of it again.

- max is scared of the dark. the black is a very dark place. richie and ruth have yet to encounter the problem of darkness. in fact, ruth has been having some trouble with seeing past the stagelights in front of her

- ruth and richie have their own personalized rooms. a stage/large theatre, and a cozy little room with a fridge and a large tv. max does not get as pleasant of an afterlife as this.

- jerry grew up vegan. he's not sure what his parents would say about his diet.

gonna drop a silly little happy auau idea i had since its prob gonna be a while until i feel pog enough to actually draw it- ujhhhhh ok so like, metal is an active threat in Happy Auau, swearing vengeance on Sonic and Co (Shadow, Silver, Tails, and ghost Knuckles) after they whooped his ass back to mobius (he has completely dominated the Sol until they arrived, also omg hi blaze!!) So obv Metal is a lil pissy about having all his work ripped out from under him by his horrible flesh counterpart, after he HAD ALREADY WON. So hes trying to fucking kill the shit out of them, for real this time. Hes causing so much terror that sonics the one to put forward the notion that they need to shut him down for good, which is how u know its serious sdbhfhjds. its been a long time since sonics had a real rival challenge him like metal, and part of him wants to keep the adrenaline and fight- but as a wise(r) old man he knows that metal is too much of a greater danger to a kingdom hes trying to protect. Metals also REALLY been getting on his fucking nerves. lmao the gang are collectively trying to come up with a way to shut him down for good, a way theyre positive they cant come back from, but mfer keeps escaping containment, so thats a whole other problem anyway, shadow has (in his opinion) a brilliant idea and he doesnt tell anyone BSHFHBD. so he takes the 7 chaos emeralds and inbeds them into sonics crown, and puts it on him in the middle of the night hes trying to mind control sonic BHJSABHJDSBHJDHBJ and it works!!! next morning sonics head is fucking EMPTY

so shadow, in typical fashion decides to see how far he can take this! bc he is a strange strange man. i think it turns into real comedic shit like shadow has him put on like. the MOST emo thing hes got in his closet. makes him say no to being offered a chili dog, makes him tell tails hes Cringe!!!! the funniest one to me is shadow using this to make sonic fawn over him bc shadow can never get enough ego boosting!! i wanna have sonic break the mind control over the actual DUMBEST reason, smth rlly goofy like shadow tells him to call him "the coolest" either way after it breaks uhhh shadow gets fucking werehog punched thru a wall!!!! sonics fucking SEETHING. like steam is coming outta the mans ears. shadow is COMPLETELY unfazed and ive been rotating dialogue in my brain along the lines of 'took you long enough' or 'its about time' they start an actual fight (its mostly just shadow gracefully and nonchalantly dodging whatever attacks sonic sends his way) and sonic is chewing him out for Whatever The Fuck that was. Shadow casually explains that sonic is the only person he knows with as strong a passion for freedom as him, making him the most resistant to any kind of control, he would put up the strongest fight against it like no other, and if it works on sonic, then its likely to forcefully work on Metal if the need arises. sonic begrudgingly accepts the reasoning but keeps fighting with shadow anyway to work the anger off sdbfhsbhdfhs bc hes still pretty livid about the whole thing anyway heehoo silly stuff spinning in my brain in mach 10 speed

i like to imagine that finnco (pre-dating) started sharing a bedroom coincidentally. their house probably gets destroyed sometimes before the kids are a thing early on into them adventuring. say something/one destroys the part that has nico's room and he's like "eh its ok ill just sleep on the couch :)"

except its not ok bc its cold as all hell and he realizes finn likes his room toasty when he sleeps (literally full body pjs with hat in a sleeping bag on top of furs in show?? at the topmost point of the house?? finn, please-). so he just kinda. creeps in and wakes finn up. awkwardly asks if he can share the bed. finn doesnt care, he loves his friends. so then it just becomes a Thing.

then months later when nico's room is rebuilt he just cant get comfy like he used to. sleeping next to finn is just... nicer. feels better. safer. warmer.

then they start "dating" and well, finn doesnt really mind cuddling the homies. so it doesnt really bother him when nico starts to curl up on his chest a lil bit, or nuzzle into him, or purr in his sleep, etc etc.

then when they do start dating he pulls him in close at first, only to starfish out in the middle of the night

dummies. i love them sm 😭💕

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA wait actually this is perfect and falls in line well with my personal headcanons for them.

I knew I wanted them to live together but Nico would kinda take over Finn’s guest room, and that they’d share a room by the time they’re dating. I always kinda figured they’d start sharing Finn’s room before they make it official (or at least before Finn realizes they had been dating lmao) but I never knew what like. event would cause the switch. This works so well though. Thank you so much. I am kissing you on the mouth.

Somehow by the grace of all that is holy you convince Miguel to take a break from his work, only for an hour but a win is a win. You swing through the city, you jump from rooftops and all this ends in you and Miguel having something of a Moment ™️.

After getting pizza with miles you head back to the hotel, him taking a couple dozen pictures on the way and dragging you in for some of course. By the time the two of you got back the hotel was lit up, the buzzing of the lights offering some strange form of comfort.

"Alright I'm gonna hop in the shower." You informed Miles, Miguel nowhere to be found.

Miles gives a noise of acknowledgment from his side of the connecting rooms and with that you step into the bathroom.

Standing under the hot water you mill over the plan in your mind. Already getting bored of the rhythm it played in your head.

Then your mind drifted off to the text Miguel sent. After making such a show of telling Miles to get his own food he asks you so casually if you want something to eat. You know your thinking about it almost too much, a simple text making a stupid fluttering feeling alarm in your stomach but you just couldnt help it. Besides its a mission its not like anythings gonna happen especially not on Miguel's watch. Sighing shaking your head you hopped out of the shower and toweled off, getting dressed.

Once you stepped out of the bathroom you noticed Miguel sitting on the bed. Laptop in his lap as his eyes stare down at it. His face lit up by the blue screen light.

"What's up." You greet, throwing your towel onto a chair in the corner.

"Mmm." He grunts, not bothering to look up. You notice how his shirt rides up his stomach a little, getting bunched a little above his lower abdomen, your eyes linger there for maybe a second too long.

Your eyes sweep the room. Then go back to Miguel.

"Where's Miles?" You ask running a hand through your damp hair.

"Uhhh, he went to the pool." Miguel told you still looking at his screen.

"Huh, I can't believe you actually let him." You commented, sitting down to put your shoes on.

Miguel finally looks up and over to you, "It's not like I'm his parent he can do what he wants, he doesnt have to ask me first."

"Ok but did he?." You ask, tilting your head to the side.

".............Yeah, and I told him that he could but my point still stands." Miguel says quickly.

You smile, trying not to laugh. Looking out the window you notice the sun going down, and the night coming alive with lights and music.

Then your gaze goes back to Miguel. You whistle sharply to get his attention. He looks up.

"You wanna go somewhere with me?" You ask, putting your hands in your pockets. The words spilling out before you really have time to think too much about it.

Miguel squints his eyes at you, almost as if trying to replay the question in his mind, wondering if you were being serious.

You stood firm on your offer waiting for his answer.

"You want me to stop the work I'm doing to repair different corners of the multiverse, so it doesn't literally tear itself in half, so we can...what? Sight see?" Miguel says sarcastically.

"Uhh, Yeah." You nod, not letting his buzzkill demeanor ruin your daring mood.

"That's funny." He deadpanned looking back down at his laptop. Tapping away.

You sigh and hang your head back.

"Come oooooon, you work every other day of the year whats a couple hours gonna do?" You shrug.

"Do you know why I work every other day of the year? Because while your spending time gawking at pretty lights and not doing your job, I'm breaking my back to make sure no one tears a hole in the multiverse. And it has happened before, just cause you didn't witness it doesn't mean it didn't happen. I can't play the fool because someone has to have some semblance of direction in this operation. Not everybody's allowed to have a devil may care attitude and be liked by everyone, someone's gotta pick up the slack." Miguel told you, clearly tense.

You sat in silence for a minute.

"I get it, you're stressed, and worn out and you find me annoying but are probably a little jealous too, let's be honest," you say holding your hands up, Miguel just rolls his eyes.

You continue, "That aside just cause I don't do as much as you, which you seem to remind me of all the time, doesn't mean I don't care like you do. I know what it could turn into if I leave my post for 20 minutes a lot can happen in that time given its a multiverse with never ending possibilities. The difference is my head doesn't explode because I give it a rest sometimes."

"Yeah well some of us don't have that luxury." He snaps back.

Clearly this approach wasn't getting you anywhere. Maybe it was time to try something different.

After a moment of silence you continue, "Seems like all the more reason to take an hour to yourself...at least once." Your voice is softer while saying this. Miguel hesitantly looks at you, taken aback by the tonal change in your voice.

"Ok look, O'Hara, I wasn't gonna say anything but sometimes you worry...people. True, you got a lot on your shoulders and people need you but what good are you gonna be if you keep burning the candle at both ends?" You wonder, genuinely asking.

Miguel's brows furrow, something about how you said it makes him think...then his eyes soften, a sight you'd never seen before. Exhaustion clear on his face. He was so tired. Your words sinking in. He looks back down at the glowing screen. It being the only source of light in the room at this point.

You walk closer and sit on the edge of the bed beside him, not fully comfortable but not fully professional anymore.

"What can it hurt? We grab some street food, go for a walk and listen to some music. We're not committing arson, boy scout, we're just having a good time." You offer.

Miguel sighs, trying to stay focused on the screen, "You're so persistent it's annoying, you know that?"

As he says this he looks up from his laptop once again. This time you both simultaneously notice how close you actually were to each other.

He freezes. Looking at you.

Your mouth suddenly goes dry, and you're close enough you can hear his unsteady breathing. Your heart beating in your ears. Both your faces heating up a little.

"You know how much can happen in an hour?" He asks, his voice also going soft.

"No, but you could come with me and find out." You say, matching his tone.

Miguel sighs, tearing his eyes away from you to look back at the laptop. Then back to you. The hesitation clear in his actions.

"I won't tell anyone if you don't." You reply, voice practically a whisper.

Miguel takes a deep breath, leaning back. You look at him with big eyes. At this point he's screaming internally.

"Jesus......one hour, best I can do, if I do that will you get off my back?" He finally decides. Effectively breaking the tension in the room.

"Alright, that's what I'm talking about." You encourage, standing from the bed. Turning toward the door you exhale a breath you didn't know you were holding in.

Miguel stood and stretched, cracking his neck and grabbing his room key.

"I'll meet you out front." You tell him walking out the door.

The door shuts and Miguel stands and stares for a minute. Letting out a groan and a sigh.

"Dios mio. Why now. During a mission of all times." He asked himself, walking out the door.

You stood in front of the hotel looking around and waiting for Miguel. Finally getting out of the hotel room you felt like you could breath again.

'What am I doing?' You think to yourself. Miguel is your boss. You'd joined the spider society almost a year ago now and you'd liked Miguel even after a few weeks of working there but you didn't really expect anything to actually happen. Sure you'd been seemingly closer to him than others but when it comes to Miguel that's not saying much. You'd had your touch of tension here and there but nothing like...this.

You shook your head looking up at the orange and purple sky. Trying to clear your thoughts. Looking down at your phone to try and distract yourself, until Miguel came up behind you.

"You're gonna get me in trouble you know." Miguel tells you.

"That's what I'm here for." You give him a wink. Seconds after realizing what it sounded like, it didn't seem to be lost on him either. What, some soft whispers and a bit of eye contact and now you guys are flirting?

Both of you look away before you clear your throat. "C'mon I saw something potentially interesting in this general direction." You say walking toward blaring music in the distance.

"Descriptive." Miguel mocked, sarcastically.

Depsite the awkward atmosphere following you two you'd planned on having a good time, and proving to Miguel that an hour away from his job wasn't gonna destroy the universe.

The two of you made your way down the street, colorful flags hung between the buildings, and neon signs shined through store windows. The night was absolutely bustling.

The two of you made your way to the downtown area where the music had been coming from.

Now in the midst of it you were almost overwhelmed. People dancing and singing, the music bumping, the party jumping. Loud.

You looked over at Miguel who looked around clearly bothered by the loud music. You hadn't thought about his heightened senses, if yours were anything to go off of his ears must be throbbing.

You study the crowd and spot something interesting across the street. Without thinking you grab his arm and drag him with you.

He looks down at your hand gripping his forearm. He doesn't mind how it looks, or feels. Watching as you absentmindedly walk toward the unknown destination.

The music was quieter now. And the two of you were in an alley way, each wall painted with some fairly good graffiti. The colorful lights making their colors pop. You're awestruck, slowly spinning to look at the art from wall to wall. Looking back at Miguel to see his unimpressed face.

"What's the matter now, art pisses you off too?" You tease.

"Should you really be encouraging vandalism. As a crime fighter and all that." He says only half joking.

"What you don't think this is good enough to be considered art?" You shoot.

"Seen better." He crosses his muscular arms almost as a challenge.

You roll your eyes, "Come on I wanna show you something." You tell him walking away.

Miguel follows suit. When he walks around the bend he watches you thwip your way onto a building and pull yourself into the air.

Thinking fast he follows, swinging after you.

"This could get us in trouble ya know. If anyone sees us." He grunts catching up to you.

"Then I guess we better hurry." You tell him, running along the side of a building.

He copies your movements, following everything to a T.

You go under the water tower, so does he. You jump off the top of a building so does he. You skim your way over a glowing rooftop pool so does he.

You spin around to look at him in mid air, flicking some pool water into his face. He flicks your shoulder in retaliation.

The two of you synchronize above the lights of the city. Swinging throughout it. It's almost as if it's in slow motion when you go to look at him, only to find him looking at you first.

Shooting a glowing web toward you he spins you out of the way of an oncoming building. His arm coming to wrap around you.

"Distracted?" He asks, the hint of a smirk playing at his lips.

"Could ask you the same thing, papi." You teased, effectively throwing him off. With a laugh you escape his grasp swinging further ahead.

Shaking his mind out of the gutter Miguel follows.

After a few more swings the two of you land on a rooftop.

Miguel breathes heavily looking at you. "What was so important you had me swing around the city for?" He asks, out of breath.

You walk toward him and grab his chin. Miguel's eyes widen at this, goosebumps flaring across his skin, his mind racing until you turn it to look at the sight below.

A giant, colorful and masterfully painted memorial. Bunches of names were painted, each having different intricate details being lit up by the night life of the city.

"Oh..." Miguel says looking down, admittedly impressed.

"Yeah, oh." You agree staring at it.

After a minute of looking you break the silence.

"See, it's not all bad." You say looking at him.

Miguel looks at you, his face contoured by the lights shinging from below. Making his eyes glow. "Yeah...I guess not." He says impossibly soft.

The tone of his voice catches your attention, his eyes practically melting into you.

"You Ok?" You ask him.

"Yeah, just admiring." He replies, not looking away.

"Might be easier to do if you're actually looking at the art." You give a small laugh.

"Wasn't talking about the art." Miguel says, any semblance of sarcasm washed away.

You look at him, your eyes sparkling in the light. Normally you'd try to make some sort of joke but all of that escapes you in this moment.

Miguel's crimson eyes search your face for any amount of uncertainty. None.

His eyes glued to you, unable to look away. The smell of you being the only thing filling his senses. He hesitates slightly before unabashedly looking down at your mouth causing your face to heat up.

"Miguel..." you whisper.

Miguel's rough hand comes to graze your jaw, too unsure to fully grab it. His claws gently poking at your cheek. The light breeze blowing strands of his brown hair into his face. His eyes half lidded, only focused on one thing.

Aaaaaaaaand then Lyla pops up.

"Miguel my bell the target just arrived at the hotel." Lyla reports to him, looking around at the surrounding situation.

Miguel closes his eyes trying to keep the growl in his throat.

You scratch the back of your neck and look in the opposite direction, sighing. Admittedly annoyed.

"What? I just thought you'd like to know."

Lyla shrugged looking to you.

Miguel groaned, "Get me insight on why their here early and if you could get some personal information on them through the hotels system that'd help a lot."

And just like that, he's back to having the world on his shoulders.

You mentally kicked yourself for hesitating before. Guess you could've expected this on a mission.

"Alright, I'll let you know when I have a background check on them." Lyla mockingly saluted and then disappeared.

Miguel ran a hand down his face and inhaled deeply. You pursed your lips and shoved your hands into your pockets.

"Killer timing." You commented.

"No shit." Miguel shot back.

The two of you stood there not really knowing what to do next.

"It's getting late, we better get some sleep."

Miguel said flatly. You nodded. Business as usual, as if nothing ever happened. The two of you jumping down from the building and swinging back to the hotel.

'Fucking Lyla.' The two of you think.
