I just realized all my family members who are super into conspiracy theory shit & obsessed with the idea of some stranger in a parking lot sex trafficking them are also all older women with no jobs and are stay at home moms. I think they & ppl like them are so into conspiracy theory shit because theyre unsatisfied with their lives, & the idea that they know some kind of unknown "truth" or "secret knowledge" makes them feel like theyre part of something bigger and that their lives are more exciting and meaningful and makes them feel intelligent.
