Hey not to go all "tumblr is a professional networking site" on you, but how did you get to work for Microsoft??? I'm a recent grad and I'm being eviscerated out here trying to apply for industry jobs & your liveblogging about your job sounds so much less evil than Data Entry IT Job #43461
This place is basically LinkedIn to me.
I'm gonna start by saying I am so so very sorry you're a recent grad in the year 2024... Tech job market is complete ass right now and it is not just you. I started fulltime in 2018, and for 2018-2022 it was completely normal to see a yearly outflow of people hopping to new jobs and a yearly inflow of new hires. Then sometime around late-spring/early-summer of 2022 Wallstreet sneezed the word "recession" and every tech company simultaneously shit themselves.
Tons of layoffs happened, meaning you're competing not just with new grads but with thousands of experienced workers who got shafted by their company. My org squeaked by with a small amount of layoffs (3 people among ~100), but it also means we have not hired anyone new since mid-2022. And where I used to see maybe 4-8 people yearly leave in order to hop to a new job, I think I've seen 1 person do that in the whole last year and a half.
All this to say it's rough and I can't just say "send applications and believe in yourself :)".
I have done interviews though. (I'm not involved in resume screening though, just the interviews of candidates who made it past the screening phase.) So I have at least some relevant advice, as well as second-hand knowledge from other people I know who've had to hop jobs or get hired recently.
If you have friends already in industry who you feel comfortable asking, reach out to them. Most companies have a recommendation process where a current employee fills out a little form that says "yeah I'd recommend such-and-such for this job." These do seem to carry weight, since it's coming from a trusted internal person and isn't just one of the hundreds of cold-call applications they've received.
A lot of tech companies--whether for truly well-intentioned reasons or to just check a checkbox--are on the lookout for increasing employee diversity. If you happen to have anything like, for example, "member of my college Latino society", it's worth including on your resume among your technical skills and technical projects.
I would add "you're probably gonna have to send a lot of applications" as a bullet point but I'm sure you're already doing that. But here it is as a bullet point anyway.
(This is kind of a guess, since it's part of the resume screening) but if you can dedicate some time to getting at least passingly familiar with popular tech/stacks for the positions you're looking into, try doing that in your free time so you can list it on your resume. Even better if you make a project you can point to. Like if you're aiming for webdev, get familiar with React and probably NodeJS. On top of being comfortable in one of the all-purpose languages like C(++) or Java or Python.
If you get to the interview phase - a company that is good to work for WILL care that you're someone who's good to work with. A tech-genius who's a coworker-hating egotistical snob is a nuisance at best and a liability at worst for companies with even a half-decent culture. When I do interviews, "Is this someone who's a good culture fit?" is as important as the technical skills. You'll want to show you'll be a perfectly pleasant, helpful, collaborative coworker. If the company DOESN'T care about that... bullet dodged.
For the technical questions, I care more about the thought process than I do the right answer, especially for entry-level. If you show a capacity for asking good, insightful clarifying questions, an ability to break down the problem, explain your thought process, and backtrack&alter your approach upon realizing something won't work, that's all more important than just being able to spit out a memorized leetcode answer. (I kinda hate leetcode for this reason, and therefore I only ask homebrewed questions, because I don't want the technical portion to hinge at all on whether someone managed to memorize the first 47 pages of leetcode problems). For a new hire, the most important impression you can give me is that you have a technical grasp and that you're capable of learning. Because a new hire isn't going to be an expert in anything, but they're someone who's capable of learning the ropes.
That's everything I have off the top of my head. Good luck anon. I'm very sorry you were born during a specific range of years that made you a new grad in 2024 and I hope it gets better.

being both a bretta and zote fan is so so painful actually ppl will always find some way to make sure they never interact again or use the latter to (seriously) demonize zote for stuff he never did while also mischaracterising bretta and i 💥👊💥🥊👊🤜🤛💥🤜👊🤜💥🤜💥🥊 🤜👊👊👊🤜💥 im not good at putting into words why this is frustrating
either make them divorced mortal enemies or reluctant friends who actually enjoy eachother's company either of those are funnier but why make up stuff that didnt happen and then pretend its canon and the reason why they should never talk again..... thats so boring
i was gonna leave this in the tags but no i wanna talk
i know im complaining here but its honestly not an issue i see a-lot like i do see them being enemies or friends in fancontent and to the ppl who do that ily very much. its always cool. and people like my dynamic too and when they let me know it makes me rlly happy lol
but i feel like people need to understand that not every situation is good or bad sometimes they are just. situations. like bretta and zote
and i still feel like there's this general misunderstanding about zote that needs to be cleared up which is that he's not actually.... a liar lol. or i mean the only person he lies to is himself and he's not pretending to be a knight he really BELIEVES he's a knight. don quixote coded like he rlly believes he killed the vengefly king and won the colosseum tournament and whatever. all confirmed by his dreamnail dialogue like it makes it REALLY CLEAR that he believes what hes saying. he's actually having delusions thats why most people in hollow knight choose to help him out its why he cant process life threatening situations. he's still annoying just because of his general personality but NOT because of his delusions. (i'd say something profound about how usefulness ties to worth in most people's subconscious and its rooted in ableism and its why zote hate is so loud and normalized but i dont know how to) basically he is not out here 'manipulating' anyone wtf
bretta's delusional too btw the game literally calls her out (gpz godhome description i think). personally i like that canon decided these two should meet and the result was this awfully tough dreamgod that u can fight 10x that's hilarious to me. if a fan made this up and it never happened in canon i would be like 'holy shit this should be a dlc this WOULD happen' because these two are just like that
also people seriously forget that bretta didnt just leave because of zote she left because of ghost too. girl just had enough of short knights ok she was done with both of them if you bring her back to town she's not suddenly gonna realize ghost is heroic and cool and be apologetic and want them back and zote's mad and jealous. <- this out here is mischaracterising ALL 3 of them its so juvenile what.... and i just dont think she'd care that much about either of them, a lot like how zote barely gives a shit about the infection or never realizes she left, they both have tunnel vision these two are the same do you see it
also tell me he was lying when he called ghost a beast because they are thats all they've been striving for this is a compliment to them i know it
this isnt reallyyy a rant. its a personal grievance because i like them both so i care about their portrayal and interactions and i like it when they aren't lonely. but also they're really light-hearted characters so why not just treat them like that....they go through shit and then they move on easily and go through it all over again. its been 7 years can we cut them a break. i dont wanna see anymore mischaracterising unless its really funny

Somewhere Only We Know (Long Way From Home Series Part 2) sneak peek
Here is a very, very like VERY brief sneak peek. Just remember Val's trials and tribulations aren't over. Stockholm Syndrome and other types of trauma bonding are not love. They're just that: a trauma bond. Trauma rewires the brain so no, some victims are never okay and are not immediately happy when/if separated from their captor. I'd be happy to answer more questions about it (I see a lot in my work :( )
141 notices there's something...particular about Shadow Company's only female operator. @josieguts because they asked to be tagged :)
This is a sequel to my work, Long Way From Home in which Graves captures 141's translator and takes her as his prisoner in a desperate somewhat well-planned idea to keep tabs on 141 after his betrayal. She puts up much more of a fight than he expected.
Read here!
Triggers for Long Way From Home are many. It's a dark fic, so I will post triggers here JIC. MDNI, 18+ TRIGGERS: Implied/attempted suicide, self-harm, torture, brainwashing, physical abuse, mind fuckery, Stockholm syndrome-related mental gymnastics, trauma bonding, mentions of foster care, threatened/implied/referenced rape, EXTREMELY dubious consent, flashbacks of torture, female being drugged. Self-hate in this one :( If I miss, any let me know, please! DARK FIC! Kinda Dead Dove.
Now, Somewhere Only We Know has less of these triggers but still will have some of them. Disclaimer: I don't know what will happen in MW3 but I have the storyline of this new fic more or less figured out. I'm guessing there's a ceasefire between 141 and Shadow Co. due to Konni being the bigger threat.
-
SOMEWHERE ONLY WE KNOW:
“She’s ours, Graves, like she’s always been,” “No, you abandoned her!” Graves roared.
-
You were in a hospital room when you saw Price walking in with a phone held to his ear. He was angry. His body language screamed his emotions. He was on the phone…
With Graves.
Graves’s voice on the other side of the phone was mad…from what you could hear. You didn’t hear the whole conversation but some of it involved you. You heard a few phrases from Graves, all with a more pronounced Southern accent. His accent got more pronounced when he was emotional whether he be feeling angry or sadistic. Where the hell is she? You had no right. She’s my prisoner. You planned this shit and separated us on purpose.
Price put the call on speaker.
“You tell ‘im that you’re safe and that you’re done with ‘im,”
“Val?” Graves’s voice his voice saying your name.
You reached for the phone.
“Nah’uh,” Price pulled the phone away. “Tell him,” Price demanded. “That’s an order.”
You looked at the phone.
And then at Price.
And then at the phone.
“Val,” Graves’s voice told you he was uptight, upset, and on the verge of throwing the phone in his hand through the fucking wall.
When it was clear you weren’t going to tell Graves what Price had ordered.
“She’s ours, Graves, like she’s always been,”
“No, you abandoned her!” Graves roared.
You asked to talk to Graves and were denied. “No,” Price said firmly.
You briefly heard Graves say something about Shepherd.
Price hung up.
-
Now don't judge our 141 boys too roughly. Pretty sure they've never recovered a female soldier from a prisoner situation. :( They're doing the best they know.

this whole pentagon situation is such a mess and I know the boys try their best to comfort their fans amongst the chaos but ultimately it's heartbreaking and upsetting and unfair. I really want someone at cube to die like I'm sorry but how fucking sick in the head could you be to undermine so much effort and potential of a group that had such a good projectile on being well loved and successful. all these guys wanted to do was stay together and make music, was it really that hard to put resources into a group that HAD a fanbase that gave a shit instead of investing in NFTs and bullshit company variety shows that nobody wanted to watch. I'll never forgive cube and all I wish for is the members to somehow find joy in their own individual activities but to always be opened to regrouping because I can't stand the idea of them not being together, especially when all they've done was fight for that one thing since predebut. I love this group more than anything like why is it so complicated for them to just love each other!!!!! I hate it here!!!!!!!!

Pinned post.
The iNaturalist staff have decided to prove, the day before Pride month begins, that iNaturalist's proclaimed acceptance of Queer people is just as performative as any other corporate that pridewashes.
They banned me from the forum for asking not to be misgendered by someone who is purposefully misgendering me and literally admitted that she knows it's wrong but she's going to do it okay.
The staff have done nothing but victim blame, tone police, and punish everyone for the bigotry of two people, which they refuse to remove from the thread.
Meanwhile, they've hidden posts by Trans and ally users who have called out the bigotry and criticized their reaction, and have, from their very first response, been treating our reaction to the bigotry as more aggressive and offensive and inappriate than the bigotry itself.
They literally are leaving the posts where I am purposefully misgendered up, but have hidden and removed my posts as well as the posts of other trans and ally users who have been criticizing their abhorrant behavior and asking for an apology.
According to the iNaturalist staff, asking someone not to misgender you is hate speech, but purposefully misgendering someone is not
= = =
Read this shit for yourself:
The original thread for LGBTQIA+ people:
The thread the staff created to hide the responses and criticism many trans people and our allies who criticized their first response:
Ways you can help:
[Ways you can help]
You can send the parent company a message on Facebook here:
And you can share your feedback with the parent company through google:
Call iNaturalist's parent company, and/or send them a direct email:
The phone number for the California Academy of Sciences is:
1 415 379 8000
Their email is:
Be nice to the person who answer the phone! I just called, and I was told that the number for the academy is not the correct place to call about concerns with bigotry --
However!
That is exactly why you should call this number. Be nice. Be polite. Explain that you found this number online and wanted to contact the company because you have serious concerns about bigotry being done by paid staff members of iNaturalist.org.
Again. Be fucking nice to the person on the phone. They will redirect you to send concerns to [email protected], which you should then do so.
But calling this number and being redirected is going to make these people extremely aware of the problem, and make it that much more urgent when they've got dozens of people calling them about this as well as sending feedback through google forms and the Facebook page.
I highly recommend that any written messages you send, you type out ahead of time in a word document that you make sure to save in case the site glitches and eats it somehow! I am also saving all the messages I have sent for accountability purposes, so that no one can claim they didn't receive anything, as well as making sure that my words are not misquoted or purposefully taken out of context.
I hope that's just unecessary paranoia but I literally was expecting the iNaturalist staff to do the right thing, and instead we're in this nightmare now.
Take a Survey:
[Plain text: "Take a Survey:". End plain text.]
You can now take one of two surveys I created. When at least 20 responses are given for each, I will begin emailing the results to the California Academy of Sciences.
Survey for those who already have an iNaturalist account already:
Survey for those who do not have an iNaturalist account:
I will be encouraging the California Academy of Sciences to create and distribute their own official surveys for iNaturalist users and potential users.
= = =
Here’s the parent company’s About Us section about diversity and inclusion so you can see for yourself that they're claiming to support Queer people and inclusivity:
If you have an iNaturalist account you can comment on the forums directly.
They literally just said that if we don’t want to be misgendered we can just leave.
Archived link because I know they’re gonna delete my response like they’re deleting all the posts that criticize them.
If you don't want to make any posts or send any messages, please signal boost this post and share it on literally any social media you want. You don't even have to screenshot it, you can copy and paste the whole thing and just put it in quotation marks.
If you care about trans people, please help us call out this blatant bigotry on the part of the iNaturalist staff. Either by sending a message to the parent company, posting to the iNaturalist forum, sharing this post elsewhere on social media, or reblogging it here on tumblr!
Thank you, and have a happy wrath month.

I think a lot of what's happening is that many players are legitimately burning out because of the way bungie models the game (people don't call it FOMO: the game for no reason, there's definitely a truth to that feeling), increasing prices putting further strains on wallets as people continue to struggle financially (getting priced out of a beloved hobby is painful), and various genuine harmful choices over the life of the series, etc. but all of that's being co-opted by bad faith actors who are looking for a reason to tear Bungie down--I think you're at least partially right that there's a lot of anti-LGBTQIA+ people targeting them for being visible allies (and members of our various communities!) and just just hollow rainbow capitalists. And there's probably people who just want to stir up drama because they find it fun. So they're all distorting the actual complaints and making it so hard to have a frank discussion about good and bad practices. The real stuff gets drowned out and people tired of the BS shut down genuine complaints without realizing because it's hard to sort through it all. I think the technical term for the current situation is "clusterfuck"
For real. Burnout is a real problem that very few people recognise and often they just refuse to recognise it when it hits them personally. And like, burnout isn't just "I'm a little bored of this," continuous burnout can lead to actual health problems.
I always tell people that if you log into a game and you're not feeling it, you're only there to mark a checklist and you're annoyed by every moment spent playing, please take a break. FOMO stuff is also a real issue, but I also always tell people to just try and think about it from a broader perspective. Will you miss out on stuff? Probably. Will this matter to you, truly, if you have no interest in the game anymore? Like, if you think about it, missing out on content from a game that doesn't bring you joy should not be that big of a deal. You're not enjoying it anyway, so who cares if you miss things that you don't enjoy?
FOMO design is really awful and it's unfortunately everywhere and it takes so much energy to get yourself out of thinking that everything around you is super urgent and you have to latch onto it NOW or else.... In truth, this is just a sneaky method to keep people hooked. It's not real, you're not really missing out on anything. Even if you are, I promise that it's better to "miss out" than fall into burnout. You're the only one who can break your own FOMO.
A lot of gamers don't get it and don't even try to get it and actually get super defensive when you tell them that they're exhibiting symptoms of burnout. This is also another way that people try to deflect criticism. Sometimes someone will incessantly shit on a video game and you'll tell them "you have burnout bro, you need to take a break for your own sake" and they'll insist that you're just saying that because you're bootlicking a company or whatever.
On the other hand, sometimes you will criticise something legitimate and people will try to shut you down with claims that you're just burned out. Differentiating between these two is super difficult, especially when the community is acting like the Destiny community is acting like now. As you said, we're dealing with a clusterfuck. There's legitimately burned out people hateplaying the game who refuse to recognise it and there's people who want to talk about genuine problems and the former are making this an incredibly difficult conversation to have.
Two other related asks under:
Tumblr media
It's utterly bizarre. The cynicism is so high that people are literally ignoring easily verifiable facts they can find with one google click away because it means they get to join their pitchforks against Bungie. And like, you can hate a company all you want but at least hate the real things they've done? The Bungie Foundation is legitimate work that helps people all over the world. This one aint' it chief.
This is the reddit thread where people were having a meltdown over the post about the foundation stuff for Bungie Day to the point that a moderator had to make a pinned post about this and there's one other most upvoted post about it just beneath. A lot of the shitty comments have been deleted and some are still there but downvoted, but people for real showed up to say crap about Bungie and lie on a call for charity.
It happened on twitter too (link if you're brave enough to go into replies and quote tweets, I don't recommend it), because of course it did. People are largely upset that some of the bigger goals have an emblem and shader as a reward and now they're calling it the "100k $ shader." And like. It's not for you. You don't need these two items. They're not here for you to buy. They're here to incentivise donations to charity. Bungie isn't getting rich from this; they will literally not see this money. It's going to charity.
I could bet my entire ass that the same people crying about this shader being unobtainable (we don't even know what it looks like btw) are the same people who are standing by their favourite streamer when they say that some in-game activities and rewards shouldn't be obtainable to the majority of the players. It's baby behaviour, and worse now because the post about Bungie announcing a charity is littered with comments from ghouls who think that THIS is the right moment to stick it to the big corpos (and ask to "fix servers").
Tumblr media
LMAO! Literally though. I, unfortunately, play a Blizzard game and like. I'm sorry but you will not convince me that Destiny has worse monetisation than Overwatch. Like, maybe you can convince people who don't play anything else, but I do.
And honestly, if some other game is better to someone? Please feel free to play that then. I do my absolute best to limit the amount of money I will ever again give Blizzard to as close to 0 as possible, but if Blizzard's monetisation and morals are fine to you, go wild I guess. Applies to any other company for that matter. I personally find it baffling that we've spent YEARS learning about all the ways Activision is actually being led by demons from hell and that they deal with lawsuits every few months and treat their employees like crap, but we're totally fine hyping up Diablo 4 (and I guess we forgot all controversies from before about Diablo 3 and Diablo Immortal and everything). But to each their own. I'm not on Diablo twitter posting about this. It's not my problem. Hell, I'm not even engaging with Overwatch stuff because I know that I will just be negative about every aspect of it, even though I'm still playing here and there. I disagree with what they're doing so I play less and don't buy stuff and then I'm not angry about a video game every day of my life. Life hack.

HYPERANALYZING/ SCREAMING ABOUT EP.3 COZ IT IS MY FAVOURITE AND I AM REWATCHING IT LET'S GOOOO
Disclaimer: this post is literally just me talking about how much I kin Milly and technically a combined liveblog
Tumblr media
Oh look it's one of Taylor's bullies from BWBL!!
Also, what the music freak is this shitty pop song playing in the back ground man I'm-
Tumblr media
Why is the school nurse running around like that-
Gotta love how everyone just rushes over to see Milly fight, and that Jake knows exactly who they're talking about (even though they've been friends for like 2 weeks). Really shows how much of a negative-ish reputation Milly has (relatable man)
Fuck Miss Jones man she sucks she can't even break off a fight who hired this bitch.
I really like the fight scene, Luke's animation is kinda wonky but I really miss seeing Kurie's animation!! I really miss the old GL episodes, they were just so much more well-written, and the amount of editing done by Rosy in them is really underrated like they seriously look so good considering how limited GL was.
God, seeing Milly fight for something Zoey stole is really fucking relatable. Like, my bullies always steal my books, my sketchbooks, my pencil case..etc. and I always get in trouble when I try to wrestle them for it. Like, I get yelled at and keep getting told "You're a girl you shouldn't be fighting with anybody!" and all they get for pushing me over the edge is a slap on the wrist, schools are really unfair (and then adults wonder why we don't talk to them about shit).
Dear Rosy Jake is so pathetic he literally gets thrown away by just a punch I'm-
Fuck you Luke
Zoey calling Milly an animal is um, weird, to say the least.
Um, side note, I really forgot how weird Henriam were in the first few episodes- like you could see the basis of their characters as we know them now being established but it's still so weird seeing them like this (also Henry is almost Liam's height in GL which makes me want to die)
Imma just skip over the Miss Jones scene I practically said everything I have to say but before that Drew was too much of a dick in this episode in an unlikeable way like THANK GOD he's barely in this one and seeing Lia flirting with Jake feels very wrong for some reason. Still love her GL outfit though <33
Tumblr media
Wow Hailey I am so glad to know you care more about the competition than Milly <444/sarcasm
Tumblr media
FUCKING HYPOCRITE- (jk I love GL era Hailey <44)
Seeing the club pressuring Milly to talk speaks to me on a weirdly personal level. Everyone wants me to talk about my feelings, but have you ever considered that I don't want to talk about them? That I am still not comfortable enough to let you in? To let you see that I am vulnerable? To actually confront the fact that I am not okay? I know the music club and the ppl ik irl genuinely mean well, but sometimes people aren't willing to talk, and you should respect that. Sometimes, just being there to keep us company and not judge us is enough, yk?
Side note: can really relate to Milly's reflex of hitting people when they get too close, I literally have to stop myself from punching my own mother whenever she grabs my arm or something I fucking hate being touched and I like the nice detail of Zander smiling when he found out who punched Jake.
Tumblr media
Honestly, fuck Zander man. I joked about Hailey not caring about Milly's feelings, about Zander straight up doesn't care.
He is a straight up reminder of my one of my bullies and all the adults in my life. Fuck you Zander.
"Does the band mean nothing to you?"
DO MILLY'S FEELINGS MEAN NOTHING TO YOU ZANDER?!?
Tumblr media
[Cries in this is super relatable]
"Great...she's on a rampage again"
Um...so, the girl being on the verge of a breakdown and being understandably angry at her bullies and her friends being extremely inconsiderate is considered being on a rampage? Damn, Sean, why do people even like you man.
Tumblr media
So...you WANT to have control over her?? Idk man I am really mad at zander rn
"We can deal with whatever's bothering you, together!"
"Milly, I'm worried about you."
I already elaborated on this point but I just want to talk about how much I love Hailey in the first 4 episodes she was literally an awesome queen what happened to her 😭
Tumblr media
God I love Redemption so fucking much it is literally the best song and musical scene in TMF /gen
Love the foreshadowing to Lia's redemption in the scene where they're bullying Milly btw, Rosy is awesome when it comes to subtlety (that is how you spell it right-?)
"🎵But you keep trying to get too close🎵"
Literally on the verge of tears this song (and whole episode tbh) hits way too close to home/gen (i feel like I have to keep clarifying how genuine I bcuz I don't think people realize how emotional this gacha series can make me)
"🎵Saved myself by turning into stone🎵"
[In tears] I swear people really underestimate how fucked up someone's psyche can be when they're all cheery and hyper. Media has made us believe that people who bottle up emotions are all cold and depressed but really the most cheerful people you knew tend to be the most depressed. The only other major examples from my fandoms that fit this category that I can think of are KEL from Omori and Kokichi form Dangan, but I feel like KEL fits this statement more that Ouma tbh
"🎵So save your judgement 'cause you just don't know🎵"
REAL. AND THE CAMERA PANNING TO ZANDER WAS JUST *chef's kiss* I SWEAR ROSY IS REALLY GOOD AT SHOWING EMOTION.
"🎵And they keep coming like moth to flame🎵"
People want a reaction. Adults keep telling you to just ignore the bullies and they'll go away, but they never will because they KNOW they're getting under your skin and they'll continue teasing you till you snap and they'll only stop when it's already too fucking late.
"🎵Redemption never came🎵"
This. This line is perfect and it is the perfect ending to the song. People are so quick to judge and tell you you need to change but they never stop to get to know the real you, they never stop to actually help you change, and you'll always be the villain in the end.
"Milly seems really important to these guys"
YA THINK?!?!
"I'm missing chunks of my hair because of her!"
Zoey please marry me 💖
"They must be talking about Milly..."
Yeah, no shit, Sherlock
"I can't believe she has a crush on that nerd!"
Me neither, Zoey, Milly is wayyyy above his league.
"You...blackmailed your friend for me?"
Also, being bullied for a crush is soo real. Like, I am aroace so I wasn't bullied for HAVING a crush, I was bullied for being a "pick me" because I just so happened to be close friends with a guy and they were all accusing us of dating (this is like a big deal here since dating is very frowned upon, especially for AFABs; so they KNEW they were gonna tank my reputation and ruin my life basically. I can't tell you the amount of teachers who would look at me weird when I talked to my guy friends)- anyways this barely has anything to do with Milly or tmf but this is my blog I do whatever
[EDIT: A WHOLE CHUNK OF THE RANT WAS DELETED?? I AM REWRITING IT NOW]
"Y'know, what? I think I might go see what Drew's up to, I've yet to tell him about how I saw you with your sugar daddy last weekend"
This was the moment I started hating Jake. I didn't like him before, but I started loathing him at that moment.
I have been cheated on before, and if my friends knew and didn't tell me I would have killed them.
"But drew wouldn't have believed him!" Well, he believed him in ep 10, didn't he? And Henriam would have been there to back him up anyways.
Another question I have regarding this is how on earth did he blackmail her?! Liek he didn't have a photo or anything.
AND WHY ISNT HE CONCERNED ABOUT ZOEY GOIGN OUT WITH AN ADULT!??!
"Aw, you two looked very cozy together"
His tone reminds me of my abuser and I don't like. It has nothing to do with the essay, but I wanted to point it out. It really got under my skin.
"Just...please don't tell Drew about what you saw"
Is ti just me or does she seem genuinely sad?? Like her conscience is tormenting her?? Idk man maybe I am just reading into this way too much but- [pulls out ancient tmf theories about Zoey being forced into this by sb and actually being in love with Drew]
"I can't believe those girls, snooping into people's diaries like that"
And you can believe Jake blackmailing Zoey?? I get you're still salty about Lia but cmon Hailey give the man some consequences
[INSERT DEAN SCENE HERE]
MR.BROOOOOOOOOOOM
GOD HER TONE IS JUST- LIKE, SHE'S UNCERTAIN ABOUT JAKE'S METHOD [PROBABLY] BUT SHE CANT BELIEVE SOMEBODY CARES ABOUT HER THAT MUCH OH MY- SOMEBODY GIVE HER A HUG PLEASE SHE NEEDS IT
I SWEAR IF I SEE SOMEBODY ELSE CALL HER CARDBOARD LIEK THE ANON DID I WILL KILL YHEM
"Um...well, when you put it like that-"
Jesus Christ this man doesn't even realize what he did.
That final interaction with Milly and Jake where they reflect on the whole thing is just- beautiful, awesome, fantastic. It's really sweet and I love seeing Milly finally being comfortable enough to talk about her feelings (even if she isn't being too specific or conveying all of her feelings)
Tumblr media
Why does Elliot look like that.
Milly why do you like this guy.
Anyways, I love the sound effects Rosy used to add whenever people would blush, I miss it (iirc it isn't in any of the new ep)
GOD I MISSED HE INTRO/OUTRO SONG SO MUCH NOSTALGIA-
Anyways, I love this episode, this is peak TMF and it makes me angry to see how Milly was reduced to comic relief in the end.
I would write a proper conclusion but I am too fucking lazy
Bye freaks

Already had an idk how long hour rant session with Sarah about this shit but I'm still so annoyed so part 2 lmao
It's so profoundly frustrating and discouraging how itzy continues to be mistreated in every fucking facet you can imagine for the sin of literally being successful, talented women.
They're literally div 2's bottom line but the company acts like they're doing the girls a favour by even posting about their cbs on the accs that were literally made to promote itzy. We are just now getting some semblance of tiktok freedom 5 years into their career meanwhile idols that debuted after them have their own instagrams and their juniors in the same company have more freedom on all sorts of socials. We've confirmed that div 2 flubs so many of their opportunities for who knows what fucking reason after what happened with the CK Yeji event. And most importantly everything to do with Jisu — never fucking protecting her in any way, overwork, stifling her and the other girls' creativity, not utilising her voice well and every other fucking stupid thing they've done that's definitely made what she's going through so much worse. The girls are a cash grab to that fucking company (to the point we literally first learned about the cb and tour in the same post that was announcing Jisu's diagnosis) and they're not even allowed to express any frustration or sadness over that because "that's not professional" and they'd probably lose everything they've worked so hard for.
If they look sad you're not supposed to acknowledge to it or sympathise with it or treat them as human beings because it's "funny" to joke about how they want to get off work and anyway they're idols who gives af about idols anyway right? So called midzys are more concerned about making unfunny jokes than actually getting to know these girls. Every mf will say "ot5" then turn around and straight up hating certain members. Dehumanisation has become so fucking normalised in midzyville but then mfs will act surprised that the company gets away with this very obvious exploitation and mistreatment. If you view these human beings as a product that you can say whatever tf you want about on sites that you know they frequent because "it's just a joke lol" ofc the mfs presenting them as a product are going to benefit from it 😭
Then you have fuckass bitchass shitstain mnet and their hate boner for itzy. The largest number of most viewed videos on choom, the first choom performance to get more than 50 million views that's still consistently gaining more and more views, the first mix and max vid to get 50 million that's also still gaining views and gagged the kpop space so hard that Bebe Rexah released a korean specific version of break my heart myself and performed at fucking kcon because of Ryujin and Yeji, and their MAMA 2021 being the most iconic performance of that night (to the point that mnet decided to call back to it again last year mind you). You'd think wow hey these guys get us views let's be nice to them and keep them around.... but nah, deleted their iconic fucking performance that gave their boring award show relevance, deleted their debut stage, don't invite them to choom anymore, didn't even send ryeji their trophy or record something for Yeji when she got hers and then the bullshit that went on today lmao. Like it's so fucking obvious and you have to wonder WHY ffs
I have nothing against the group that won even though some of their stans are the most disgusting scum of the earth but like surely.... the numbers did not make sense. Even if you say itzy's digital points were too high okay fine that's just affirming that mnet isn't very honest with their numbers. They deleted itzy's untouchable stage for who knows what fucking reason then uploaded it later with reset views. How tf am I supposed to believe all this was above board when we've been beating that fandom in voting CONSISTENTLY even if they mobilised fandoms to help okay fine but did they enlist the whole of stantwt or something lmao how tf was the difference that great? Why were the sns scores so fucking weird when itzy untouchable shorts have consistently more views? Why is it "cope" or being a sore loser to call foul play when there's so much pointing to it being that AND mnet has a history of rigging??? The only real answer is it's because this happened to a girl group and specifically because this happened to itzy. They released one song people didn't like and suddenly deserve every terrible that happens to them is deserved and just "midzys complaining about nothing". And when it gets to a point where even the girls seem visibly frustrated and dissapointed? "Nah they just want to go home early lol don't read too much into it don't care"
This is so long and I feel like I could go on forever but tldr I just wish better for them man 🫠 every group is unique and important in their own way but itzy are really once in a lifetime performers. I know there's no such thing as a perfect world where everything goes smoothly especially for girl groups but fuck is it too much to ask for a little respect on their names and for everyone to leave them tf alone at the bare minumum 😭 itzy is the only group under div 2 just fucking do your jobs lmaooo

Y'all gone crucify me if I say I don't put much faith in white boys from the south?
Honestly speaking, I may like celebs but I never trust them, no matter how cute or nice they seem. Same with k-pop idols or anyone who's a celebrity, really.
We don't actually know them. What their real personality is - that's something their close circle and family must know, but not us.
So I hate it when people defend them like they've known them their whole lives.
Yeah I've always said that being a kpop stan will really kill the parasocial gene in you and it's funny bc that industry thrives off of parasocial relationships but with kpop it's literally all so artificial. These companies quite literally create personas for the idols and it helps you realize that the west is not all that different. It's definitely more lax over here and celebrities can get away with a lot more but generally speaking, we don't know any of them. For sure some do show us their actual personalities and might be just as great as they seem but again...how will we ever know for sure ? 🤷🏾‍♀️
It's why I don't get the hard defense either bc babe...you don't know that man or that woman. Especially in regards to something they've been confirmed to have did like what are we defending exactly? Their right to be shitty? Not every hill needs to be died on esp since they're not a victim 😭 if someone wanted to talk shit about every weird thing BTS or Exo has done tf I look arguing with them? It's true!

That damn cat
Summary: Y/N’s cat runs outside and is hiding under her deck. Her boyfriend Eddie and his uncle Wayne were over for dinner and the cat run out as they were leaving. Wayne and Eddie help her get him back home. The reader is a cat mom lol.
Fluff, Eddie saves the day!
Authors note: It's really cold in Ohio right now and this happened to me last night around 10 at night. What Eddie does it what my father did to help me get my cat last night lol.
Eddie Munson x reader
Y/N lives across the street from the Munson family. She lives in middle to low class housing that’s across the street from the trailer park. Eddie and you have been best friends since they were little kids and they've been dating for a few months now. Tonight is the night she meets Wayne for the first time since they started dating. Both the Munson men have been assuring her that it isn't a big deal. Wayne knew Y/N when she was tiny, he already loves her but he went along with the "meeting the parents" dinner that Y/N prepared for the two boys.
Everything went great, just like Eddie assured her it would, Y/N pulled out the big guns though just to make sure. She made Wayne’s favorite meal and made a homemade dessert as well. Just as the night was winding to a close and the trio said their goodbyes to one another the night took a sort of turn.
Now Wayne doesn’t really know much about Y/N cat. He knows that she got one a few years ago but that’s about it and honestly, up until this moment, he forgot about the cat. Eddie didn’t though. He can’t forget about that damn cat. This cat seemed to hate Eddie. No matter what Eddie did to try and pursue the cat into liking him nothing worked. The cat was like Y/N's baby so of course, Eddie wanted it to like his company but the cat would hiss at him, and it started to nudge him away from Y/N while the two of them were cuddling. Eddie swears this cat is out to get him.
Y/N starts to finish up the dishes with Eddie as Wayne finishes his beer. He has to admit it is nice to see the couple finally be together. Wayne always knew the two of them would end up together. This is the first time Wayne sees the cat. He watches as the furry thing struts across the floor and to its food bowl. After the dishes are done and the beer bottle is empty the two Munsons decide it’s probably time for them to leave. Kissing each other goodnight and goodbye Eddie reminds Y/N of their date the next evening before Wayne hugs the young girl goodbye.
Wayne opens the back door to head out right as it happens. The cat ran outside. In the dark. “Oh shit! (cats name) get back here!” Y/N runs out to go grab them but it's too late as they are already under the deck. “Shit!” Eddies eyes widen and he goes running after the cat too. Wayne is frozen, How the hell is that cat so damn fast??? That’s the only thought in Wayne’s head before he grabs a flashlight and goes to help them find him.
With the flashlight, they all can see the little thing under the deck catching bugs and playing in the dirt. “I can’t tell you the last time they did this, I thought they were over-running out” Y/N frantically explains. “Well, it's too cold for them to stay outside and they could get more lost so how do we get them out?” Wayne asks the girl. Eddie then remembers all of the little fur ball's favorite things and runs back inside. Confused Y/N just watches Eddie leave before deciding to try and reach for the cat from under the stair but sadly they’re too far in the middle for her arms to reach.
Eddie comes back out with a can of wet food, the cat's favorite toy, a broom, and a bag of cat treats. Eddie opens the can of food to try and trick the cat to come out by himself but it doesn’t work. Then Y/N tries to get the cat's attention with the toy but they’re more focused on the bugs than the toy. Wayne is trying to push the cat to an opening with the broom but every time he touches the cat, it runs away to the other side.
Seeing Y/N get desperate and seeing her and Wayne start to shizer due to the cold Eddie gets desperate to save this damn cat. He starts to take off his jacket, drapes them over Y/Ns shoulders and he gets onto the ground. “Boy, what the hell are you doing? Get up before you hurt yourself. Can’t we just get the hose and spray the little thing out?” Y/N thinks for a second, “maybe but he might just run to the neighbor's bushes and it would be even harder to find him then” Stumped Wayne and Y/N start to think of other ways to get the cat.
What they don’t notice is Eddie crawling under the deck. He’s cussing out the cat as he does this and is thinking of how much he must love Y/N for rescuing a cat who hates his guts. Finally gripping the cat he starts to shimmy back out from under the deck. With the cat in his arms, he hands them off to their mother. “Here” Eddie grumbles “now I’m filthy and the cat is too” Staring at him with awe Wayne and Y/N both come to the same realization. This boy must really love me/her. Y/N kisses Eddie before running inside cussing at the cat and going to wash him off.
“You did good son, that look she gave you was the look of pure love. But damn are you crazy for crawling under a damn deck like that” Wayne chuckles and shakes his head.

I'm in class rn but I refuse to miss talky Tuesday. What do u think about how the anime portrayed them falling to despair. Ik a lot of people hate the anime and it has some bad things but I think that whole thing was poorly done. The despair thing obv
UGH I did not like it.
Thing is, I was really into the idea that the SDR2 class was manipulated and taken advantage of by Junko, because they were all well set up for it. I think most if not all of them had problems that Junko could act like she could help with- power, money, or just an escape from the life they had. Someone mentioned that the SDR2 kids have some of the most upsetting backstories, which is perfect for someone like Junko, and I think it also would have helped make Junko seem like a real threat.
I would have loved it if she was like, this rogue agent of chaos, worming into the class's lives -sort of an anti-Chiaki, maybe after the class warms up to Chiaki but before they all become besties, Junko ruining their chances of connecting- and engaging them with lives that are a complete opposite of what they've been set up for so far, but with much more power involved.
Someone like TeruTeru or Akane would have an insane amount of money, someone like Fuyuhiko and Gundham could have a community / "friends" (but they're not, really), Mikan and Hiyoko would have power over people, Peko and Nagito breaking out of their lot in life and pursuing what *they* want- you get the gist. They all had problems and they all were susceptible to manipulation; everyone is.
And that's the thing *I* really wanted DR2 to be all about! Anyone and everyone can be a horrible awful person, no brainwashing needed. In the right circumstances, if you justify it enough, if someone insidious takes advantage, anyone is capable of being a Remnant. The game being about us seeing the class as "normal" kids, troubled kids but ultimately just a bunch of teenagers doing their best, is what I was really into, because it made the twist at the end so good.
Yes, the kids you were rooting for who have become much closer in all this time are actually terrorist with a kill count in the thousands. Yes, the same ones, yes, by their own volition. Yes, they can still make the choice to face their past and be better people from now on; but only with the help of a community and friends. If they were to go it alone, at the very end of the game, they would have repeated their mistakes, but Hajime, Naegi and the memory of their dead friends made them change their mind. And Hajime himself having that final role of making The Choice, the most normalest teenager of them all using the connections he made with people as a trump card against fear and manipulation! Love that! Solidifying that it was never about talent or power or whatever, just people and choices.
And that ties into the end of the anime much better to me, with what Impostor says; they want to make up for all the bad shit they did, instead of running away, so they take the blame and do their best to help the world, with each other for company.
Now THAT'S a narrative. The instant brainwashing really just detracts from it imo, like they didn't have it in them to be bad people, they were just hypnotized into it. Really ruins the whole culpability by turning it into a semi-magical instant thing instead of a realistic sort of cautionary tale. You're not gonna be instantly brainwashed by The Best Most Upsetting Anime Ever, but you can be suspect to manipulation and propaganda even, and a solid and secure social net with good people who you trust is one of the best ways to fight against that.
Sometimes I feel like I made my own narrative out of SDR2, but I dont really care, I like my interpretation better.

Sometimes I look at the Project Moon games and wonder about what the team at PM must be like.
I mean hear me out... and yea spoilers and all that but I can't really get my point across without them so ya know.
Lobotomy Corp is a game that centers around the plot of 1 awful awful man who has done unspeakably horrible things to his colleagues in the pursuit of a goal they technically all wanted, but "not like this" only to go through so many horrifying loops of tragedy that everyone becomes numb, finding their own ways to cope with having to work at such a truly hellish work place. With the main character becoming someone better through atonement for his actions, he can't truly atone in the eyes of those he has harmed but he can try to better himself going forward and in the end he's able to at least give them all the gift of seeing their goal through to the end.
Library of Ruina shows us yet again a struggle with identity, this time accompanied by yet another major plot surrounding the idea of revenge this whole idea that the actions that freed one individual from a horrible life of abuse and neglect inflicted irreparable harm upon another. Yet they work together for so long in hopes of each achieving their own goals, only in the end coming to realization of their life, their grief, and their identity. Both being able to move past who they were and the pain they've felt and become something more than a husk living purely in spite of their suffering.
and I'll be honest, I've not played much of Limbus Company, I hate to admit it because I love the Project Moon universe but the game doesn't much keep my interest. That being said on the most baseline level of the game you have an understanding that this is a company of people specifically brought together for emotionless work. You have the most uncaring neglecting managers and head figures; Dante seems to be the most emotional of anyone and that's likely coming from the place of actually having to go through the literal pain of reviving anyone who dies, experiencing their pain in the process. So I could are they're a little more invested in their subordinate's wellbeing. However more than not, the lead figures here do not care about their underlings, and if you pay attention to the sinners; they're all full of life in different ways, sure some of them are less happy than others; but they all have goals, they all have ambition.
So what am I getting at with all of this? Well do I actually believe the lead writer/writers at ProjMoon are trying to say something about the company? Nah probably not, it's very likely they're just writing angst for the sake of angst; and while a lot of their writing is well done and captures a lot of mental illness and real conflict very well; I don't think they are necessarily trying to go any deeper than that.
That being said; we only now see how bad their CEO really is. However I have a hunch that this wasn't always the case, originally he was probably a genuinely nice dude. I say this completely on assumption mind you, so again if you think I'm making some weird stretches in logic or something read the above blurb again and recognize that I'm not some conspiracy theorist trying to spout some bullshit. I'm just saying that it's interesting to me that a small indie company of like 7 - 10 people who were really ambitious about their goal of becoming a game studio worked really hard (and likely failed a LOT in the past) in spite of their living situation being complete shit. Like basically everyone I know who knows about ProjMoon knows there were times they were so poor they couldn't afford basic heating and such. So here you have this company who dream of wealth and honor, being someone important, being someone rich enough to live a good life. They make 1 game (Lob Corp) that seems to be doing well, the Legacy version got played by a few youtubers and likely drew in a small but dedicated fanbase who gave them a rush of euphoria; finally there were eyes on their product. Real people, around the world who CARED about what they were making. They were likely far from their goal still, but now they had a chance. Then; they took a shift and remade the game to what we know it as today and what do you know... it was a success. They weren't rich or anything but here's this global fan community singing their praises, telling people "buy their game buy their game!" That's wealth and honor, at least on some level. See when you're THAT poor, even a couple thousand bucks or a couple hundred people with eyes on you can make all the difference. Sure we think "wealthy" means triple digit thousands at LEAST and such; but if even 100 people came to my stream and each of them gave me 25 bucks (the price of Lob Corp) I'd feel pretty damn successful having just made $2,500 "but cryptid they probably put a lot more money INTO it than that" sure that's true, and they probably sold a lot more than 100 copies of the game. There are currently 26,396 reviews on steam, with 455 being recent reviews. In total if we assume (and we don't, let's be real) that every one of those bought the game at full price, and the company got 100% of the money; that's $659,225 a little over a half a million. from Lob Corp alone. Now yea I'm not gonna say they didn't have to pay a % to steam for hosting and they likely had some copies sold when the game was like 50% off or something if we're being honest. However this doesn't take into account LoR being $30, with 20,501 reviews for a total of (again under the same assumptions which we aren't realistically assuming here) another $615,030 we have no idea how much merch they sold or how much profit they made from their café either.
What am I getting at here? That they made a bunch of money? We know. No it's more than that; See it's easy to look at the CEO and say "oh dude fuck Project Moon they're a shit company!" However consider for a second that you don't hate Netzach, Chesed, Angela, Tiph, Hod, etc; for the actions of Ayin... do you? Now yea obviously those are fictional people, so you know they don't have bills to pay they don't have families to take care of, they don't have real life problems to deal with... unlike the people who work at Project Moon.
All people who likely watched their friend, and CEO; change when he obtained the money and fame he was after; suddenly hiding the fact he had grown so much from the public so they could sell the idea of being a "small indie dev team" to keep pay lower and abuse their workers. Which, from what I understand; is what we learned from the WonderLab incident, unless I'm mistaken of course. Take everything I'm saying here with a grain of salt. It's very likely that the writing for the original Lob Corp wasn't about the Proj Moon team specifically, more so about working conditions in capitalism, and likely the current state of Korean societal/work norms. However I do wonder how much of the writing might be or could be based on what the team is going through in relation to their own work place.
I saw a lot of people saying "how could the people who wrote games about shit business practices literally do this shit, they wrote about it!" However I don't know if the CEO himself really had much of a hand in that, you have to remember that none of us; and I do mean NONE OF US. Have any idea what the working conditions there are actually like. For all we know the CEO could easily say "oh sure I wrote this and that, I looked over these things; I helped with those things" when in reality it's all delegated to some poor intern.
I mean hell I once worked with an indie company who literally stole my intellectual property, claimed it all as their own; said they had "come up with all of this the night before at an exclusive meeting" and then used it to profit off their scam of a game that they lied to the public about being something it wasn't and I never saw a cent of it because I told them off for not only stealing my work but A. lying to me and thinking I wouldn't know and B. lying to the public to scam people out of their money.
A lot of shady shit practices happen behind closed doors that never gets to be made public whether it's because you don't have a voice to say it loud enough or because contractually you're not legally able to without harsh consequences. You know what you can do though? You can write whatever you want for the plot of your game. Your game that is already built around the premise of abusive work practices and shitty capitalistic managers.
what was that limbus company quote, something like "take out their leader, remove the head and the meat under it crumbles" I don't know man, it just makes me wonder about how the people working at Project Moon feel about their CEO. I don't know how many of them are WILLINGLY following him vs how many have to keep a roof over their head and feel like they have no choice in the matter but to keep working for a shitty CEO who makes the big bucks while they likely get "small indie dev team pay" you know?
I'll say this again because I know, this is the "how dare you say we piss on the poor" website and I want to make this abundantly clear. I don't know jack shit about what goes on behind closed doors at that company, I'm not trying to make some kind of conspiracy theory, I'm not reading too much into plot or writing of a fictional world/characters/game. I'm not trying to make any claims about any persons working within the company. I'm merely wondering how much of the writing (WHICH COULD BE NONE) comes from a more personal view of venting about poor working conditions and how many of the employees working at Project Moon (WHICH COULD BE ALL OF THEM) actually consider their CEO to be a friend and someone worth working for rather than as an abusive boss they're scared of and who they can't quit working for because they need the money.

I spent three hours today helping a renewed acquaintance get back into destiny. He played through D1 to just before Shadowkeep (his fit was all leviathan gear and I was super jelly), and I had to figure out what I actually needed to figure out to explain to him to catch him up to be able to play.
Anyway; three hours. Half that time was in missions actually playing, and half that time was me helping him navigate menus and popups.
Tumblr media
I get now (better understand, at least) why some folks are so comfortable shitting on Bungie the company over this game. There is so much poorly designed UI and confounding quest structure and information that appears only in HUD obscuring popups that disappear never to be retrieved.
And, I'm not willing to entertain that the UI and UX problems are a matter of 'they're doing their best' BECAUSE
There are places where it is crystal clear to see that the UI points the player in a Specific Direction to a Specific Place with a SPECIFIC GOAL IN MIND (you only get one guess but if you're a lifer like me you know the answer in your heart already) and it is clear that the UI can in fact function perfectly well but is Not Allowed To, in service of that Specific Goal
Tumblr media
This game is a cult. This game is a cult and I am a cultist. Its non-euclidian pathways are second nature to me, and the omnipresent Silver Light of the eververse is my accustomed daylight. Why would I question it? I already live here. I already love it here.
I love this game. I love the people who make the actual game I play. I hate the people who constantly try to make an extra 10-20-70 bucks off those who aren't going to be long-term players. These greedy fucking cash-scraping funnels they've constructed around the player onboarding experience have turned the game into a venus fly-trap.
Tumblr media
(pictured: bungie C-suite trying to get big publisher investment without letting go of the most offensive monetization on the market)
I don't want to sound like Tassi or SkillUp too much right now, but I get the part of them that says 'dont give bungie credit for reversing a decision they knew was a bad one in the first place. Don't give this company extra grace for not tightening their fist as much as they could have. Don't let them act like the greedy part of the game's design isn't greedy, and couldn't be done better.'
The two needs are in direct tension with each other. The game can be easy to play, and a paid subscription game, or it can be what we have now: free and greedy and unnecessarily labyrinthine to teach. They don't coexist.
I love it here already.

So, there's been something I've wondered about for a couple years now, and even more so since stalking your blog pretty heavily for the last few weeks and reading lots of old posts.
Something obviously shifted in Jensen's view of Destiel a few years back, it was a wildly noticable change. You said during 15x18 filming, which I am totally clear on, and also something earlier having to do with TAW (and maybe Mark P?)? I don't know much about that, not sure I want to.
But the point is, now that Jensen gets it, do you think he regrets any of his previous brushing off/gruffness/annoyance at the DeanCas stuff?
I just--some of his earlier behavior (2017 and earlier) was frustrating and I'm never quite sure what to believe. Jackles long con? Was he Heston'ed?
Of course he's always been entitled to his own opinion, but now that his opinion has changed, do you think he understands why some fans got upset?
(Sorry to go anonymous with this, I'm genuinely just curious if you'd heard anything or have an opinion on it. But nearly every time I publicly interact with your blog, bitches be trippin in my inbox. Idk how you deal with it.)
it's a bit of a mix. first, he had a terrible introduction to ships in this fandom. He was a young actor, everywhere he went, there was wincest. Wincels reframe it now, but on their own boards back in the day, they knew he didn't like it. The so proud "My favorite is wincest" they trained the new kids to cut off his expression and "because it's. SO weird." and on their forums they ratted and begged each other to never mention it to Jensen again back then. Because not just that. Wincest was used for pranks. They superglued it to phones to torment cast members. They basically rickrolled each other with wincest porn. It was literally an eternal mockery of them that made the old season "that's just sick" honestly seem gentle. But they've. Buried this.
So you gotta understand the first MINIMUM 3 years that's all jensen knew. Then Misha came in and kept getting extended and kinda got ball and cup plot shuffled with Anna at some point, so like. Anything that popped up back then. Sure, Sgriccia was like, wow, that's gay. But. Again. What's the mood about ships on set right now.
It took several years for them to realize there was even like. An actual ship. Because realistically like. they don't... see wincest as a ship. They saw it as a gross joke, like dropping flaming doggie doo on someone's door. So there's that.
Then add in like. The Chad Kennedy shit. The s10 press packet drop. The S11 mass salty author exodus, etc.
So we look at 2017--for the record, Doesn't Exist was before he got the 12.19 script. Just fyi. Or. You know. [gestures at all the following seasons]
all that man knew before then was WB was like hell no. He hadn't yet been handed Bobo's first step on the highway to gay mega hell
But yes, the shift mostly came arounnnnnnnd. Well. Hm.
He was lightly jolly about it but mostly in a comedic way that still didn't sit well with many. Some time around Wayward, A Little Birdie sent some names to some people with some power to put it on some lists watched by some security company that condensed the reports and gave nice readouts to the ackles on who seemed like a threat to their family.
And they saw a lot of bitching about Destiel.
You ever hear of spite shipping? Yeah. They done that to themselves. From like. IDK. jan or feb 2018 give or take, climbing upwards, there was a lot more banter, a lot more jokes that didn't have negative possible reads, a lot of chuckles. And then he'd go backstage, check his phone, and enjoy the assholes that hate his wife and friend shitting their pants that he DARED to support Destiel. Lather Rinse. Repeat.
It was 15.18 that actually torpedoed him.
hope that cleared it up.

I recently bought a new desktop because the old one was showing signs of aging--chugging when trying to complete basic tasks, things like that.
I was looking at pre-built rigs because I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg, this isn't intended to be mega beefy... maybe someday in the future I'll be able to afford to build a custom rig, but not today.
Unfortunately, they all came in one flavor--Windows 11.
I was hoping to avoid this, because from what I've seen... it's... not great.
My experience so far is... it's not great.
Sure there are certain little details they've adjusted that are nice, but it's not enough to make me enjoy the experience overall.
The biggest gripe I have is that the Start Menu is fucking terrible.
Tumblr media
Look at this atrocious nightmare.
Sure, you can adjust the settings to move it over to the left, but that doesn't fix most of the problem. This is just... awful. I hate it. And it doesn't give you the option to use a legacy layout, like from 10 or earlier.
Why? Why do they do this? Why does Microsoft keep insisting on making broad, sweeping changes to the UI that nobody fucking asked for, and nobody wants, and nobody likes.
Literally everyone I have asked who has tried this--HAAAAAAAAATES the new start menu.
There are third party apps you can install that REPLACE this eyesore... but that's just it... I SHOULD NOT NEED TO DOWNLOAD A SEPARATE PROGRAM TO FIX YOUR SHIT, WINDOWS.
Honestly... I wouldn't mind if Microsoft was trying this stuff out just to see what sticks... but actually let us pick and choose what layout we want. Like periodically, they come up with a new layout and it comes with the latest update. You can try it if you want, and if you don't like it, you can go back to what you had before. No big deal.
They could even carry a whole package of legacy layouts so you can simulate the start menu from previous version of Windows... but they will never do that. It would be too useful and desirable a feature.
I just... do not understand why companies decide to force these unnecessary and obnoxious UI changes on us. This isn't even the first time Windows has done this. I'm old enough to remember the debacle that Windows 8 caused with the hardcore push to unify the PC and Mobile experience... 'cause that's what we all need... christ almighty.
I'm old enough to remember people bitching about the jump from Windows XP to Windows Vista. Granted, Vista got complaints because of the hardware requirements and how much slower everything seemed to run, not the UI... but all things being equal... Vista's UI isn't my favorite.
It's like the company just... doesn't learn from its mistakes.
Oh right, duh, forgot... it's all about the money. They only care about the money. If they can make it look shiny and new, then some folks will jump on it because shiny and new, and that's big bucks for Microsoft.
Once again, like so many of life's problems, this too is caused by capitalism.

BB20: Wednesday 11 October
"You don't have to be clever to be in a boarding school, it's all down to your parents, what they can afford."
Big fan of Farida explaining this to Zak in front of boarding school-educated Henry.
Shopping task is to pretend to be a company. Yinrun, Trish and Henry become bigwigs, so they're in charge. And they wear big wigs. Those are two Steff faves, and the Tory himbo.
Four days in, Hallie continues speak directly into the cameras to address Big Brother. Iconique. We have no choice but to stan. Etc.
Bigwigs get to decide who will be middle management, and who will be the Bottoms (language that reassures me that ITV haven't forgotten Big Brother's core demographic of filthy queers).
Instinctively, I feel like the right choice is to make middle managers out of the housemates most likely to sulk. Olivia, Chanelle, maybe Kerry. I bet that's not what they've done.
Okay, wow, the only one of those three they've picked is Kerry. This will cause discord, you mark my words.
Dylan, Zak and Paul will be solid Bottoms I reckon. Yep. I said what I said.
Aw, I'm so right about Zak. He's been amazing so far, actually. Very good for morale, very good at ending conflict before it begins.
Oh no, the power of middle management has gone right to Kerry's head. Calling a meeting when there's nothing to discuss - except for her disapproval of Zak's approach of being nice to the Bottoms so everyone's on side. Kerry favours an approach where the middle managers make every decision and force the Bottoms to do what they say.
Meals are provided - more luxurious food for those higher up the food chain. Kerry complains about her perfectly lovely middle manager meal.
Kerry's going to cause a lot of conflict this series I reckon. On the first night, she was asked to pick the worst-dressed housemate. She picked Jenkin, who lost his suitcase, and I thought she'd failed to understand the premise of the game - that the housemate she picked would face a punishment.
Now, I've changed my mind. I think she knew full well - and it simply didn't matter. She's a no-nonsense person, by the book. You ask her to pick the worst-dressed housemate, that is exactly what she'll do. She won't pick a second choice instead, even if her first choice has already been given multiple punishments.
Kerry's told to be a middle manager, and that's what she does. Doesn't matter that this isn't really a company - that this is just a task within a TV show. The moment she's given that role, she expects absolute obedience. Not only from those underneath her, but from her fellow middle managers too.
Henry has a Big Brother mug with the new logo on it. Let me be very clear that I want one of these mugs.
I wonder who wins this sort of Big Brother? I'd love it to be Hallie. I reckon Jordan stands a very good chance.
People on the internet hate Olivia, so I'm automatically on her side. Not fun seeing her clash with Zak, though. The Bottoms are all doing a tedious job - sorting hundreds of paper clips by colour - and Zak comes to keep up their spirits.
Olivia's annoyed by his presence - but that's unreasonable, so she needs to think of a good reason to resent him. "I know you love being in charge," she says. But - he isn't here on a power trip. He either wants people to be happy, or he wants to be liked. Either way, he's absolutely not motivated by wanting to rub people's nose in his status.
Tell you a video game I like - KeyWe, which Tumblr recommended to Elanor. Co-op game where you play as two kiwis who get a job in a post office. You obviously cannot single-handedly do the job of an actual human, but with two of you, you can get basic tasks done. Anyway, the task where Paul and Zak sort through post IS this game, down to the final detail. It even has troublesome animals, in the form of pigeons who shit on you.
Interesting - Yinrun feels like nobody except Trish and Henry speak to her very much.
Now listen. I love Farida and Kerry. But I would not stay in a job where if they were my managers.
"I honestly thought we were going to be bored," says Farida of the show so far. She really hadn't banked on the ITV version being so full of action.
Aw, Hallie checking in on Kerry is adorable.
A really sweet generational thing. Hallie wants to offer physical comfort, but only on Kerry's terms. So even as Kerry starts to tear up, Hallie doesn't hug her - but holds out her arms, which Kerry can choose to take or not.
And Kerry doesn't take Hallie's arms, because she's a different generation. Instead, she says, "Have you smelled this?" and offers Hallie a nice-smelling product. And then Hallie DOES hug her.
Ahh, Hallie has absolutely clocked Farida's need for control.
Fair play to Kerry - she has the idea to let the Bottoms decide on the shopping if they win the task. That's really nice.
Oh no, but Farida is dead against the idea!! Actually, maybe I've been too quick to judge Kerry's management. She's really good here.
Zak comforting Hallie. Steff faves unite! ... oh, is Zak a Steff fave now? I suppose he is!
The bigwigs talk about demoting Farida, since she wants to do the Bottoms' pointless busywork. But that's not going to work, is it? Farida's not going to become easier to manage when she feels she has less control.
Who gets voted out in a show like this?? On Channel 4, we'd lose the most-hated housemate. Sources of drama would be in trouble - probably Farida, since Olivia's immune.
On Channel 5, we'd lose the least-loved housemate. Someone who's failed to stand out. Noky could be in trouble, just because she's not been especially prominent.
Farida thinks Kerry is conniving! She isn't, Farida. You're annoyed about Kerry wanting to let the Bottoms choose the shopping. That is ... the opposite of conniving? Right? That's Kerry wilingingly conceding power and control to reward the hardest workers. The most cynical possible reading is that Kerry wants to be liked.
