Miette Patisserie & Confiserie, 2009 Larkspur Landing Cir, Larkspur, CA 94939
Tumblr media
I’m so happy that I came across Miette at Marin County Mart. I haven’t been to Miette in years even though I’ve always loved it. Their shops are girly cute, their cupcakes are adorable, and they have more than just candy. They make their own cupcakes, teacakes, macarons, cookies, and also some candies (marshmallows, brittle, etc.). The signs, the packaging, the wallpaper – all too precious.
You can grab and bag and help yourself to the bulk candy, sold by weight. They had my favorite candy, sour gummy skulls from Sweden. They’re hard to find. I also bought a couple of boxes of Miette cookies for gifting.
FYI, macarons are 50% off every day between 5 PM – 6 PM.

Being absolutely serious for a moment, I think sex ed should have a module covering kinks and fetishes. Like high school senior year, just explain the basic concept to people and, without going into any specifics, list some odd and unusual examples of things that could be fetishised to demonstrate range and esoterica. That's it. Quick and easy lemon squeezy. Because I think that would go a looooong way to combatting some of the absolutely headass takes I have seen recently.
I think a good example of this is Nikocado Avocado. I think, to any of us, it is clearer than fucking glass that that man is a gainer. Probably mixed up with some bimboification/humiliation stuff thrown in for flavour. Whatever the specific combination of facts, his weight gain is a fetish thing. That's it, plain and simple. And the sheer fucking volume of thinkpiecey youtube animations, reaction videos, pithy editorials bemoaning the corruptive influence of food addiction and the mental corrosion of obesity makes me want to put my fucking head through a wall.
SO MANY PEOPLE seem to think they are messengers sent on behalf of Gabriel himself to teach this man that he is overweight, since obviously his mind has been so addled with calories that he can barely tell if he's even conscious or not anymore. He is aware. He is not delusional. He weighs like 300lbs, which seems like a lot, but is not nearly enough to break your fucking mind like some people are claiming.
Like, guys. He just gets off on it. That may not be as satisfying as trying to save his soul from fucking Five Guys, but it's true. And if people were just taught this stuff, it would save everyone a lot of time and trouble.

Oh I hate when more middle to high class (not rich rich) start to latch onto things poor people have done since forever and make it into ~fancy~ stuff like:
-Biking to your job
-Eating leftovers
-Buying from thrift store/getting hand downs
-Avoid eating out
-Taking walks instead of using your car
"Oh look at this new trick to save money/save the environment" Babe you're stealing poor people culture and gentrifying it instead of making accessible for everyone

the thing that gets me about chocolate guy is the amount of effort he puts into it. he’ll make an entire sheet of cake just to cut two circles out of it. just watched a video where he spent the time to cook and reduce beets in order to make something red, when he could have easily used food coloring. NOTHING but respect 😤

Tuesday’s Sweet Shoppe, 4220 Coldwater Canyon Ave, Studio City, CA 91604
Tumblr media
A must for candy lovers…the décor is nostalgic, like an old-fashioned candy shoppe only it’s self-serve. Most of the candy can be found in a drawer that you pull out and scoop from. You can see the candy without opening the drawer. Everything is neatly labeled.
The candy is organized by type: jelly beans, gummies, sours, chocolate, taffy. The bulk candy is $14.99/lb. They also carry gourmet chocolate bars, cotton candy, lollipops, bags of gummy candy, etc. They have domestic and imported candy.
Gloves are provided.
My picks:
Sour gummy skulls from Sweden (my favorite – the right amount of chewiness and sourness, not too hard or too soft)
Sour gummy alien skulls: not as good as the regular skull flavors
Tuesday’s Sweet Shoppe is located at The Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge. Park in the shared lot. Service was friendly but no free samples were offered (like at their other location).

i put pokemon card mystery packs on my etsy just now. just a stack of bulk from my year of collecting pokemon cards. i'll be turning in a bunch of bulk to the card shops, but I thought wouldnt it be fun to make my own mystery packs? i always loved goodie bags, grab bags, blind bags, and gacha. its a thrill of opening something and getting something unexpected more than the items themselves.
altho getting a $100 card is pretty neat. Here's the link if you're interested~ https://www.etsy.com/listing/1717302949/pokemon-tcg-bulk-mystery-goodie-pack-of
