I've always been a fan of Miyano Mamoru as well as a loyal listener of his songs, but the sheer talent he showcased in yesterday's episode was nothing short of mind-blowing.

The way you can hear Dazai holding back cries while simultaneously sounding goofier than ever.

The way you can tell he's speaking around a lump in his throat.

The way his voice is so strained.

Asagiri-san had mentioned that one of the key elements of animation is audio, namely in character dialogue, as it can demonstrate things that are impossible to get through with images. And I firmly believe this is the best example.

Absolutely astounding.

also it was there before, the change is minuscule (downward curve instead of upward)

I think the mouth does more to make him seem less happy. I tried to give it more of the anime feel instead of the manga

Finally got around to watching 101 animated.

You did good Bones, you did good. Those poor artists always pull through in the really important parts. Especially with their use of color, those animators know how to weild color to hit with the most damage. Not to mention the pure beauty of the scenery and backgrounds.

is it just me or did season 5 ep 8 soldify that it wasn't a plan? like in the manga, you think that way bc there's only sm art can show. but the anime, dazai sounded genuinely devastated. his expressions and the way his voice was so strained at the end of his speech. i don't think there is a plan, he had no choice but to kill chuuya because he thought it was the only way to get rid of dostoevsky and save the world from him. his voice sounds so similar to when he sounded when odasaku died, just so unbeliveably devastated.
