Bonnet x Brianna au: Bonnet and Brianna play cards for information in that bar. They get drunk, more so Brianna(maybe Bonnet isn't even that drunk at all) because she still has a reason to be pissed off at Roger. They sleep together. Brianna wakes up with a hangover naked by herself in a inn room with a note from Bonnet. The info she wanted. He also thanks her for a good night. That would have definitely been more interesting. Just no solution shaming Brianna about it from anyone (maybe Roger if you want his to still be the asshole in this). Heck maybe in this Brianna and Roger don't even get to sex, they fight before they could. Brianna definitely knows who got her pregnant. Like Brianna ends up on a quest to find her baby daddy.
Ooooh that would be lovely, it's such a good idea ! And as she's looking for him, asking around and gathering information to find him, she crosses paths with bad people who are also after him and use her to find him too...

Rewatching “Outlander” from the beginning is such a wonderful experience. To see Jamie and Claire slowly falling in love again, knowing what kind of complicated journey they have ahead of them. They have always been and will always be one of my favorite fictional couples and OTPs. And also to see so many great “old”  characters that have already sadly passed away and also to know how many wonderful characters are yet to arrive. To make some connections between certain events that you didn’t figure out earlier. And the excitement is still present, because plot is so colorful, multilayered and well-written that one can’t possibly remember everything by heart. I just love this show so much and can’t wait for season 6.

Just gonna leave this here...
Brianna couldn’t have said what it was that drew her back to the water where they’d left him. It was growing dark now, and the tide had crept higher and higher all throughout the day while onlookers trudged away, unable to spare the time to wait for the sea to claim her latest victim, aided by the town’s magistrate.
He was still there, the water up to his chest now, as dusk faded toward twilight. He had to be cold. His arms were probably long since numb with limited blood flow from the way they were chained above his head. Everyone else had gone now, and the man on the adjacent post chained in the water wasn’t as gifted with generous height as Captain Stephen Bonnet. He had succumbed to the tide that inched ever higher.
Brianna carefully placed the bassinet on the ground under the tree, her precious son asleep inside it for a while longer. She shouldn’t have come. She should just turn around and go back to Fraser’s Ridge and let this nightmare he’d started, end. Perhaps she made some small sound to announce her presence because he slowly lifted his weary head, squinting in her direction in the gathering dark.
“Come to watch, sweetheart?” he called quietly, for there was no one left but the two of them now.
Brianna gnawed at her lower lip, eyeing the rising water nervously and knowing she should just walk away and let the sea claim him once and for all.
“You did say the sea would come for you one day,” Brianna answered quietly.
His laugh was hollow.

Outlander Season 5 - Top Ten
My ten favorite facets of Outlander season 5!
There was a lot to love this season so it was hard to narrow it down to just ten. As you’ll see from the list, I value the characters most of all. Also, I do watch it for the historic drama and the fantasy romance, and I make no apologies for that.  I also really enjoy the picture of a strong family and a strong long-term couple, which is something really special to find in media today. So without further ado!
10. Jamie’s Near-Death Experience
Tumblr media
It was just so touching. Jamie was clearly seeing somewhere else, not the room he was in or even Claire for a moment. The tear that just leaked from his eye. Claire’s urgency, the way she strung together the no, no, no’s. Everything seemed so organic, not overdone, and so beautiful for the love displayed.
I can’t resist also mentioning how heartbreaking it was to watch Claire agonize over taking Jamie’s leg. Again, it felt authentic.
9. The Villains
Tumblr media
Bonnet and Lionel are so different, from personality to motivation, yet both are artfully portrayed. Their cruelty and menace drove the season and the characters forward.
8. Murcosta
Tumblr media
This unexpected, star-crossed love story hit just the right notes, tender and true. Bonus - it paved the way for Jocasta’s backstory.
7. Adorable Children
Tumblr media
These sweethearts enrich and enliven Fraser’s Ridge just as they do real families. They are rays of sunshine!
6. Brianna’s Relationships Blossom
Tumblr media
As Brianna becomes more secure in herself, she is able to strengthen bonds.
5. Jamie and Roger Become Family
Tumblr media
Men, I swear! Watching them come to terms with each other is fun and kinda sweet.
4. Family and Community
Tumblr media
Diana Gabaldon says the theme of The Fiery Cross (the book this season is mostly based on) is Community. This idea plays out onscreen, and is particularly poignant in light of the isolation brought on by covid-19. Maybe we haven’t made candles or danced a reel, but we can still feel the pull of simpler times, and anticipate the joy of our loved ones’ hands in ours again.
3. Jamie in a Red Coat
Tumblr media
I didn’t so much “like” it as the visual was so striking it produced a visceral reaction. Catching a glimpse of his scars just before was a well-placed reminder of his pain at the hands of Red Coats.
2. Claire and Jamie’s Pre-Battle Goodbye at Alamance
Tumblr media
Pure romance and so perfect.
1. Jamie’s Gentleness with Claire
Tumblr media
The tender care Jamie shows Claire after her abuse. It’s my number one thing because it shows a different kind of strength, and an understanding that comes both from experience and from a long-lasting relationship. Patience and gentleness and respect and comfort. And at the end the trust Claire shows is almost incomprehensible, that she would feel safe being vulnerable in front of anyone. I wish we had gotten to see more, but what we did see was the crux of what makes Outlander so special.
To anyone that finished reading this - thank you.
Lots of love,
LadyWynneOutlander

Thoughts on 4x11 “If not for hope”
There we go again with a new ep. I think is an unpopular opinion but I really liked it, and had to stay away from here as well as Tw because of the negativity towards this ep and the season so far.
I have my opinions too, I already said them in previous posts but from my perspective, is understandable that this season won’t be exclusively about J/C, and from now on, there’ll be more characters that need time to grow and develop (i.e. Bree, Roger, Murtagh, Fergus/Marsali, Young Ian etc). Does that mean I love the lack of screen time between J/C? Nope, not at all, but I kind of get the point of the writers (in that only).
When in the promo the actors/producers talked about the theme of the season as “Home” it didn’t mean just for J/C, but for every character involved. Bree giving up the house she lived her whole life and embarking herself into a 200 years’ time travel to find her home with her parents. Roger going after Bree, who he thinks, is his home too. And we can add him finding home after all that happened to him with the Mohawks. Jamie and Claire finding home in each other, finally creating the life they always wanted but surpassing every difficulty they may have in some future, also bonding their relationship in a new place, etc.
In terms of the ep, I LOVED Bree. She’s radiant with a child, as well as her mother. And how clever she was to get rid of her suitors without sounding impolite, how easy it was to entertain the visitors at dinner (I loved that she talked about psychology :) and her faces of discomfort every time Mr. Forbes was talking to her, she doesn’t give a fuck about him so idk, it was fun and uncomfortable at the same time. For that matter, it reminds me of Claire at a certain point, she is a natural entertainer and super smart when it comes to facing uncomfortable situations.
Tumblr media
Also, loved she kept Jamie’s letter with her in every moment, even if she didn’t feel good enough to read it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LJG
John isn’t one of my favorite characters, but that doesn’t mean I hate him. I didn’t read all the books so I don’t have a formed idea of him at this time. Regarding him in the ep, first: his entrance was super glamorous, omg yas dude!!! We were expecting you.
Tumblr media
In addition, I love his relationship with Bree, and seems to be super natural even though they just met. Even if John still loves Jamie, I don’t think that's the only reason he decides to take care of his daughter. I really believe that John, over the years, has appreciated not only Jamie, but the entire Fraser family, and therefore doesn’t hesitate to help when needed.
With this said, throughout the chapter we can also see that the relationship with Bree grows, and he manages to appreciate her more for who she is and empathizes with what she suffered. That's why I loved his decision to be her "fiancé" and help Brianna so Jocasta doesn’t get in the way and marries her with Forbes. I don’t know, I loved their interaction in the books and also in the series.
Tumblr media
PS: Who else wants to see Bree and Willie together??? Because I do.
Jocasta/Bree:
I still don’t understand her, Jocasta is still a character that for me is indecipherable, because she’s lovely but at the same time manipulative. The fact that she wants Brianna to get a husband is not only because her son would’ve marked as a bastard, but because she desperately needs River Run to have an heir, and as she couldn’t persuade Jamie, now she goes for Brianna. Fortunately Bree realizes that the proposal is not entirely innocent and wins the game, making her believe that she is really going to marry John.
Tumblr media
Jamie/Claire:
My heart breaks with every scene in which Jamie appears. Sorry, but please look at him, he's completely regretful, sad, ashamed, jealous, feels he has no one on his side and can’t wait to find Roger and take him with Bree. This man loves his daughter so much he would do anything for her, and at the same time feels he can’t be good enough.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Claire doesn’t realize that, or maybe she does but she doesn’t know how to approach him. She also feels remorse for not having talked about Bonnet at the time. But I loved, and I'm serious, I LOVED their conversation in the tent.
It was so intimate, where they poured all their feelings, fears, confusions that made them distance themselves and finally managed to reconnect. If you don’t like that, well I don’t know what else you expect. Would have I liked another kind of sex scene? Maybe, but the way i see it, that wasn’t the purpose of the scene. Last week I read a lot about why Claire did not say anything, well in this chapter she did it, and beautifully well, so for me it's okay.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some other things I liked:
Fergus and Marsali back. Another couple that I love and that I can’t wait for them to set up in Fraser's Ridge. It broke my heart to see Fergus rejected in that way, and to see him feel so useless for not having a hand. And I love that Marsali sees that and is such a beautiful wife to convince Murtagh to invite him to join the militia. I think it shows the love they have for each other and that they hold each other's back no matter what. (Also, my beautiful Germain, I want to hold him because…look at him)
Murtagh in action. The truth that was biting my nails while watching the scene because fighting with Bonnet is not easy task and I was afraid of something happening to him. And I need him to be released in the next chapter or I will not be able to sleep till then.
R-O-L-L-O. That dog deserves all the awards. Have you seen how did he find the bones? He’s so cute
Bree painting Phaedre and telling her she’s beautiful
Things I didn’t like:
Jamie being so sad. That’s enough suffering for him.
Roger being hit again and again. Let the man breath for god’s sake. I don’t know if there’s a historical reason for the Mohawks to behave like that but it felt weird.
The short/hurried and fully dressed love scene between J/C
John and the other man having sex in the hall. Awkward.
Anyways, I’m still confused about the writer’s work this season but by no means I hate the show/I’m not exited for next episode, quite the opposite. I hope J/C + Ian will find Roger in the next episode (kind of, I’m not prepared to see Ian go) and return with Bree, so the last episode will be about Bree giving birth and so.
I´d love to see what you think, so if you want to leave a comment, the space is all yours!

I just watched it and I just cry because I suddenly don’t recognise Claire and Bree anymore and I feel super bad for Jamie - not because Roger deserved that beat up - but that Brianna and Claire did nothing - NOTHING - to, at least, make him understand.
HERE ARE SOME OF MY OTHER THOUGHTS ON THE 4x10 EPISODE:
1. Though I really missed the JB fireplace/cuddle scene (which I feel is equally, if not more important scene to be featured), I did like that they included the part where Jamie provoked Brianna and showed her that she couldn’t fight Bonnet even if she tried her hardest. I loved that Jamie was hesitant about hurting her but it was the only he knew how for her to realise that it wasn’t her fault. I hope Brianna knew that Jamie did it as his way to show his love for her.
2. That scene in the end where Bree revealed he knew Jamie understood what was done to her because she knew it happened to him is indeed another block in the building of their relationship. I loved the fact that Bree opened up to him even though the topic was about murder, but trusted Jamie enough to guide her  in understanding the situation. I loved that Jamie said that he did for Claire and he would do all over again if need be - in some way, its his way of telling her that he’ll do anything for her too.
3. I skipped all the Roger parts. All of them.
4. I felt that the “abortion” conversation ran too long and Claire keep circling around the topic in very vague terms which elongated the conversation. When Bree asked if she considered it with her, my heart swelled a bit when Claire declared that “she and her father wanted and loved her” (I just didn’t like that the dialogue went ‘I wanted you, I loved your father and he wanted you’ - I mean, why can’t it be a collective like ‘we loved each other and we wanted you’, small thing but meh). I loved that revelation thinking about what happened in 2x13 and Jamie and Claire’s decision to part forever for her sake. Brianna, I think, also needed to feel that she is loved unconditionally by both of them and that they’ll do everything they can to help her whatever they decide.
5. Loved that when Claire suggested that she leave back for the stone now, she didn’t want to leave. I think she wanted to spend more time with her mother and Jamie as well. She wanted to know Jamie.
5. Again, bummed that the writers didn’t include Jamie and Claire’s argument when she was contemplating suggesting abortion to Bree. It was to be another impactful moment for J/C as they navigate being parents together, especially to a daughter caught in a complicated situation as Bree.
6. TIME TRAVELING THEORIES TIME!! Hahaha!
7. Wee Ian being all grown-up and Brianna finally having a cousin! What a momentous moment.
8. Am I the only one who cringes and hurts for Jamie every time Brianna refers to Frank as “my father”? UGH UGH UGH
9. “I CAME HERE TO FIND YOU TOO” JUST PULL MY HEART OUT ALREADY. I NEED MORE JAMIE X BREE MOMENTS. THANK U, NEXT.
10. Is Lizzie even sick anymore? I guess not?
11. I honestly didn’t get the trade scene? Is it important? Was it in the book?
12. Claire must’ve really done herself in with all the gardening cause she looked awfully tired in the dinner table.
13. Love Claire and Bree scene just talking about stuff in the future. Of course, these are things they cannot mention to anyone but to each other and surely, there’s a certain relief and freedom that they can talk about it now and its such a relief for both of them. Love this mother-daughter scene (though not sure how this scene adds to the story, I mean they could’ve used this airtime for some other important thing?)
14. OMG THE NIGHTMARE SCENE - DANG, BREE IS GOING THROUGH PTSD JUST LIKE JAMIE DID BEFORE AND I FEEL SO BAD FOR HER. It’s the same when Jamie thought he saw Claire and then Randall will seep through. For a while, I thought Bonnet was really there! I guess that’s how victims feel inside their head - good representation for me. Kudos to Sophie and Ed for giving me the chills.
15. OH GOD HERE WE ARE IN THE MISUNDERSTANDING SCENE THAT TOTALLY MISSED THE MARK FOR ME. Though I dinner justify Roger’s beating, Jamie couldn’t have known what Roger looked like. Lizzie said it was the man and she was sure and Jamie was acting on pure instinct to save his daughter’s honour. But the way Bree explained it to him at the beginning of this argument was confusing already and Jamie, albeit not intentionally, thought otherwise of Bree’s intentions because he did not know there was another man. But slapping him? I get she’s angry, but he’s still her father and he deserved some respect. I wonder how many times in his life Jamie have been slapped, not many I’m guess, and especially from the people he loves. I think this part went a bit far especially when the “other man” is revealed. AND CLAIRE JUST STOOD THERE AND NOTHING, DID NOT EVEN MITIGATE A BIT, DID NOT DEFEND HER HUSBAND NOR LIGHTLY REPRIMAND HER DAUGHTER. I get that she had to appease Brianna but her face says that she’s angry with Jamie too but that was not the time nor place to show that anger. Jamie apologises and Brianna just blurts out “go to hell” I MEAN WHAT IS THAT. THAT IS JUST CRUEL. AND CLAIRE DID NOTHING STILL. (I AM SO ANGRY AT THIS SCENE AT THIS POINT). AND THEN WE GET “MY FATHER WAS A GOOD MAN AND YOU’RE JUST A SAVAGE” MORE CRUELTY THAT JAMIE DID NOT DESERVE. Gosh, I wonder what Frank Randall would do if he found out his daughter is unwed and pregnant - I bet he’d suggest losing it first. Brianna has been Frank Randall’s daughter for 20 years and it shows and I don’t like it one bit).
16. WHEN CLAIRE REVEALED IT WAS BONNET, THE WOMAN HAD THE NERVE TO LOOK AT HER HUSBAND WITH ANGER AND RESENTMENT - WHEN SOME EPISODES AGO, SHE WAS TELLING HIM ITS NOT HIS FAULT BUT NOW, SHE’S BLAMING HIM. I HATED THAT LOOK CLAIRE GAVE HIM. I HATED THAT SHE HAD THE GALL TO EXPRESS IT. I JUST HATE THAT SCENE. THAT IS SO NOT JAMIE AND CLAIRE. THAT IS NOT HOW THEY DEAL WITH FIGHTS AND ARGUMENTS. NOT LIKE THESE. THEY DO NOT RESENT EACH OTHER BUT NOW, APPARENTLY, THEY DO. Jesus Christ, I AM SO SAD.
17. DEAR LORD SAM HEUGHAN. HE IS THE SAVING GRACE OF SEASON 4. THE LOOK OF DESPAIR IN HIS FACE WHEN BREE ASKED “WHERE WAS ROGER” AND HE HAD TO HOLD HIMSELF TOGETHER. DAMN, THAT WAS SOME FINE GREAT ACTING. WHEN HE GOT ANGRY AND BRIANNA CALLED HIM OUT, THE RESTRAINT IN HIS ACTING, JUST WOW. HE DESERVED ALL THE NOMINATIONS THIS YEAR. JESUS, HIS ACTING IS JUST SO STRONG AND IMPACTFUL THIS SEASON.
18. BREE IS JUST ALLOWED TO HIT PEOPLE, SERIOUSLY?! HERE WE ARE DEFENDING ROGER’S BEATING AND BREE JUST HITS PEOPLE. AND JUST THEN DID CLAIRE TRY TO REPRIMAND HER. SERIOUSLY. THE INCONSISTENCIES OF THE WRITING THIS SEASON IS JUST DESTROYING THE SHOW.
19. I don’t even have words for the “Planning” scene other than Brianna is so demanding and Claire is being dramatic and everyone is just in a foul mood.
20.  AND THEN WE GET ANOTHER UN-JAMIE/CLAIRE-LIKE SCENE. Jamie, now, wants to understand and he asks his wife for answers too. He’s asking so he can understand the extent of the damage he’s done, if he can repair his relationship with his daughter, he just wants to know and understand and what does Claire do - WALK AWAY. If this was the Jamie and Claire I know, they would hash it out all in the open until all is said and done (aka First Wife scene, Blade under the grass scene, FAITH scene, etc..) SHE DIDN’T WALK AWAY. HE DIDN’T WALK AWAY. THEY TALKED THE PAIN AND ANGER OUT BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THEY DO - that’s what healthy relationships do, that’s always been them, it’s why they work. Secrets but no lies (well, Jamie lied about the hand but the Claire I knew will call him out then shut him down). I AM SO ANGRY THAT THIS SCENE DIDN’T GO TO AN ALL OUT CONFRONTATION CAUSE THAT IS WHAT I EXPECTED FROM JAMIE AND CLAIRE. Clearly, the writers had them in a different light where they walk away from each other - I DO NOT LIKE JAMIE AND CLAIRE WHO CAN EASILY WALK AWAY FROM EACH OTHER. NO. NO. NO. Because if it was easy to do that, then Jamie and Claire’s relationship are in trouble.
21. I hated this “goodbye” scene too. ALL JAMIE WANTED TO DO, AND YOU CAN SEE IT IN HIS FACE, IS TO HUG IS DAUGHTER AND SAY A PROPER GOODBYE TO HER - BECAUSE TO HIM THIS IS A MISSION HE MIGHT NOT RETURN FROM (spoiler: it’s why Bree made her mama go with them). NOW MAYBE I JUST WANT JAMIE NOT TO RETURN TO BREE CAUSE SHE DOESN’T DESERVE HIM (okay, I went a tad overboard with this but I am so frustrated with these characters and story, im letting me feelings out). AND CLAIRE JUST STOOD THERE, DID NOT EVEN ENCOURAGE HER OR HIM TO PROPERLY SAY GOODBYE. SERIOUSLY, WHERE IS CLAIRE FRASER? THE REAL CLAIRE FRASER?! Seriously, and then Claire and Bree hug and Im just imagining Jamie there at the side, wishing he could too. I mean, he even passes by them again just so maybe he could but still, nothing and they all went in their merry way. (im so emotional about this scene)
22. MURTAGH AND JOCASTA MEETING AND REMINISCING ABOUT ELLEN IS THE ONLY SAVING GRACE OF THIS EPISODE. I HAD SO MUCH FUN WITH THEIR INTERACTION.
23. “WHILE MY MOTHER AND JAMIE...” Wow, I just don’t like Bree in this episode. So Jamie is relegated from Da back to calling him Jamie. Wow, such a disrespect. Could’ve called her “father” if she wanted something more formal or distant to call him. But calling him just “Jamie” just boils my blood with anger cause Jamie doesn’t deserve this cruelty. Jesus Christ, he sacrificed himself for all and it still is not enough, especially for the people who mean most to him. Brianna’s bratty attitude didn’t sit well with me this episode and I hate it.
Bottomline, I knew this scene was coming. From book to TV, I didn’t expect the writers would delete important parts to give more context to feelings to justify it. No, they just jumped from one place to another, trying to go through the chapters so fast, they missed the point of it all. I missed a lot of scenes from the fireplace cuddle to the abortion argument. But Brianna’s and Claire’s attitude towards Jamie in this whole ordeal have felt nothing short but cruel for me. They didn’t give him a chance to explain, give themselves a chance to make him understand the depth of the situation. Instead, they shout at him, keep secrets from him, call him names, don’t acknowledge them, walk away from him, shut him out, and I hate that because he knows he’s done wrong and just wants to make it right but no one would tell him how or at least, again, make him understand. Jamie must be frustrated as heck between his wife and daughter, the only family he cares most about but he just stays silent. The turmoil inside must be killing him and he’d already decided that he will bring Roger back even if it costs him his own life.
But damn, the writers just missed the mark so much with Jamie, Claire and Bree and how to handle the progression of their situation and I am so sad because I’m anticipating this moment most and they ruined it.
Now, I don’t even have the courage or will to watch the last 3 episodes. They story, characters and actors (except Sam) aren’t just there this season and I just sad because this is my favorite book in the series.
Fin.

Who I Am — Stephen Bonnet & Brianna Fraser
Hello :) It’s birthday-week! And to honour those whom I adore, I’ve decided to (finally) post a Stephen Bonnet / Brianna Fraser edit I made a while ago. Because what better occasion to post a bittersweet video edit than during a time of celebration… right?! Right. That’s what I thought.
Happy birthday Ed Speleers & happy almost birthday @xeresmalfoy <3
PLOT: After years of evading capture, Stephen Bonnet has been sentenced to death by drowning, and Brianna feels she must see him one last time. To say goodbye, to forgive… and to honour a promise she’d once made to him, a long time ago: “I won’t let you drown,” she whispered. “I promise. I won’t let you drown.”

While I was frustrated yet again with the lack of Jamie x Claire, I have to say I did enjoy some of the side plots in "Providence”.
As much as I disliked Roger for the really weird, nonsensical arguments he’d start with Bree, this episode made me remember why I ever liked him at all. I already saw some criticism of his “idiot” speech, but I personally saw nothing wrong with it? And Rankin just sells it well, I totally understood where the character was coming from, as well as his inner struggles on love and freedom. And then when he went back to saving the priest, I was reminded of the good man in Roger. I will root for him again, and simply wait until Outlander decides to fuck with him again.
And then there’s Marsali and Fergus. ❤️ Can we get more of them please? They actually feel like a parallel to Claire and Jamie. In fact, I feel like they respect Claire and Jamie more as parental figures. They are so cute, and such badass goals.
As for Bree’s confrontation with Bonnet...meh. Hardly powerful, though only on Bree’s part, which is the saddest thing, but it is what it is.
Bonnet was believable at least. Believable, despicable, and even pitying.
I was actually glad that it took him a while to remember who Bree was, and that it bothered her a bit. At least there’s one person (besides me) who doesn’t find Bree to be the greatest thing to have ever traveled through time, or even worth remembering at a glance. May sound harsh, but that’s my reality.
If the actress isn’t going to put in any effort into her role, and if the writers aren’t going to try either, then I’m just not going to care. I know I bring it up a lot, but it’s just extremely jarring for a show with such a great cast and--before this season--consistently compelling story lines to have this one actress that hasn’t been getting it right from the start.
