Character Intro: Nárkosi (Kingdom of Ichor)

Nicknames- Calm Mother by the people of Olympius

Mama by her daughter

Age- 35 (immortal)

Location- Arcadia, Olympius

Personality- A minor deity in the pantheon, she's not ashamed of her position- being easygoing & carefree. She approaches all things in life with a calm and collected attitude while being very empathetic towards others. She's currently in an open relationship.

She has the standard abilities of a goddess. Being the goddess of sedation her other powers/abilities include invisibility (herself, objects, & other people), limited hypnosis, sedative inducement (can tranquilize any organism into a somnolent state), and extrasensory perception.

Nárkosi is the mother to Pasithea (goddess of hallucinations & relaxation). She had her daughter on her own by way of Gaia's fertility services. The two are as close as any mother/daughter- often times she'll call her daughter "my blood." Ever since Nárkosi moved out of the city, they mainly keep in touch through writing letters (since she doesn't believe in using modern technology). Pasithea will also stop by the commune where her mom now lives to stay over for a couple of weeks.

Before the drastic lifestyle change, she lived in a small cottage in the Hearthwood neighborhood of New Olympus. Nárkosi worked closely with her good friend Epione (goddess of soothing pain) as it related to anesthesiology & sedation. That was her main source of income. She couldn't explain the shift for the sudden need for change, but it eventually happened.

There's a pendant necklace of a larimar gemstone (from her daughter) that she always wears.

Nárkosi now lives (in a small cabin house) and is a part of Pan's naturalist commune located in Arcadia. Often nicknames "The Agrotases", the community is generally peaceful & laidback with the key principles being trust, community, and sharing. The commune is open to anyone of any creed, but the general population include satyrs, centaurs, mortals (especially lotus eaters), & dryads.

A go-to drink for her is hibiscus tea that she brews herself, often adding a bit of honey to it. Other go-to drinks for her include aloe vera juice, water, matcha tea, coconut water, homemade dragonfruit-lychee juice, ceylon black tea, chamomile tea, & pu'er tea. She also likes the chai milk bubble tea from Pan's juice shack.

A guilty pleasure that Nárkosi will never give up are the almond poppy seed muffins from Hollyhock's Bakery. She also enjoys the pot brownies made by Juniper, a dryad nymph that's part of the commune.

She loves snacking on goji berries! An often treat for her are toasted wheat bread slices spread with apricot preserves and cashew butter.

In the pantheon Nárkosi is also friends with Pathos (god of emotion), Karme (demi-goddess of the harvest), Mesembria (Bria) (goddess of the afternoon), Auge (goddess of first daylight), The Nesoi (sister island goddesses), Nymphe (goddess of self-care), Paean (goddess of physicians), Arktos (goddess of the night sky & constellations), Selene (Titaness of the moon), Eváeros (goddess of air & the zodiacs), Ioke (goddess of pursuit, tumult, & battle rout), Demeter (goddess of the harvest & agriculture), Apheleia (goddess of simplicity), Elais (goddess of oil), Aegle (goddess of good health), Thilasmós (goddess of nursing), Ichnaea (goddess of tracking), Hesperis (goddess of the evening & sunset), Livádi (goddess of meadows), & Hesychia (goddess of quiet, stillness, rest, & silence). She greatly admires Gaia (goddess of the earth) and Tethys (Titaness of freshwater & clouds). Nárkosi was the mentor to Aergia (goddess of sloth, idleness, & laziness). She also likes her daughter's boyfriend Hypnos (god of sleep).

She's well practiced and versed in pressure point martial arts!

She's a frequent user of pot, lotus dust, shrooms "magic mushrooms", & lotus tiles.

Eváeros gifted her a Diamond Ave. blue butterfly shaped jeweled clutch.

Nárkosi (along with the other inhabitants of the commune) is vegan. She and a few of the ladies are sometimes responsible for the mass preparation & cooking of meals which is often served and eaten at the main hall. Some of her personal favorite dishes include vegetable pastitsio, one pot spaghetti (added with basil, sundried tomatoes, chopped walnuts, & bell peppers), one pot sticky rice (added with sliced cucumbers, shallots, & honey glazed tofu), balsamic kale salad with roasted red onions, butternut squash soup, and soft shell roasted cauliflower tacos.

She's a longtime lover of Pan (god of the wild, satyrs, shepherds, & rustic music). She doesn't mind that he has other lovers & is sure of the bond they share. Nárkosi is even friendly with a few of them (and the children they have with him). She in fact has a lover of her own- a mortal man named Arrian who lives a few houses down.

In her free time she enjoys surfing, bike riding, gardening, tai chi, aerial yoga, horseback riding, acupuncture, swimming, aromatherapy, reading, knitting, jewelry making, pottery, sewing, archery, football (soccer), & drawing.

Bria had the idea of walking across the country. It would take her about six months, more or less. Brad asked her why the hell she wanted to do that. It just seemed like a fun thing to do. She could meet new people and get out of her privileged bubble of Los Angeles. If she started in March, she could be in Maine sometime in September, making her miss the winter season. He thought she was crazy but knowing her, she would do it regardless if he wanted her to or not.

What if she did it for a cause, like bringing attention to the homeless? He could see her doing that. The only way he would let her go was if she got a cell phone and she checked in with him once a day, whether it was by text message or phone call. That way he would know she was okay and still alive.

She agreed to that. Mike asked her if she was crazy! Possibly. The band laughed. Walking across the country was an insane plan! She would have to be ready to be homeless because she might not be able to find accommodation. That meant sleeping outside and not always being able to shower or use the bathroom. She was okay with that, as she wasn’t one to hate getting dirty. She was only fifteen.

“I know. I just think that I have a privileged life and that I need to get out of my bubble. I need to see more than just LA and meet people who don’t have personal assistants or private planes. People who work two jobs just to make ends meet or people who go to the bar every Saturday night and sing sucky karaoke songs. Like Into the Wild, except without dying from poisonous berries in the middle of nowhere Alaska. If you spend too much time in LA, you go bat shit fucking crazy.”

Yeah, that was true. Phoenix had faith she could do it, as long as she had the right equipment. She would detail her experience in a journal that she could then publish into a book. Brad pulled up a map of the United States on the laptop and printed it off. He then brought it over with a pen. The seven of them looked at the map together.

California to Maine was a distance of three thousand, one hundred fifteen point six miles. She would go through Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ontario, Canada; Quebec, Canada; and then, Maine. That meant she would have to get a passport to enter Canada. She could do that, along with hiking equipment and a cell phone. It would take her about a month to prepare before she could start her journey.

She would then fly back to LA from Maine. After she had some authentic Maine seafood and a good night’s sleep at a hotel. They still thought she was crazy, but at least she wasn’t diving in headfirst without a plan. George agreed she was crazy but he also had no doubt she could do it. He was so confident that he would help finance her trip.

As long as she sent him a postcard whenever she could. She promised to do that. Thank you. He hugged her. Where in Maine was she thinking of ending up? Probably Portland, since it was a major city with an airport. She was going to try to not use hotels during her journey because she wanted to know what it was like to be homeless. What time of the year was she thinking of leaving? She was thinking about leaving in March. That way, she would be home before winter. That was her plan, anyway.

She was prepared for delays because of weather conditions or other unexpected issues. What she was most excited about was just meeting people and seeing how they lived. Maybe she would help out for a few days or a week in exchange for housing and food before heading off again. George knew what it was like to grow up privileged. That was why he helped out people who had less than him.

Brad had done a great job teaching her about how much she had and how not everyone was as lucky as she was. She could have whatever she wanted. Instead, she didn’t ask for anything. He was from a middle-class family and had worked hard for what he had by working at fast food restaurants and doing whatever odd acting job he could take. It paid off as he was taken seriously as an actor and was able to grow his career through the nineties.

March was in eleven months, so she had plenty of time to prepare. Stephanie would be a little over a year by then. If she left in June, she would be in Maine by the new year. She would have to pack for summer, fall, and winter. After the three of them laid out a plan, they talked about everything she would need. Brad would take her to the local REI to purchase everything she needed the following day.

“Bria, you are fucking insane! Do you know that”, Phoenix asked her.

“I would hope so! You have to be insane to do this!”

“She’s got a point”, Rob said.

He had to agree with him on that. She was insane! But, she was not someone to back down from anything easily. Her daughter would be taken care of by Brad. Being away from her was going to be hard because she would miss her but she would see her when she returned. It was going to be an incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience. They would be anxious for updates on how she was doing.

Other people had done it and she was going to be one of them. She thought about Forrest Gump and how he ran across the country. He wasn’t alone, though as he picked up people along the way. That was fiction, this was real. She and her father were getting her ready to leave. They went to REI and bought her the necessary equipment and supplies. The salesman helping them was interested in hearing about her plan to walk across the country.

She explained why she was doing it. He thought it was a noble act and wished her luck. Thank you. Everything cost hundreds of dollars but it was worth every penny. She even bought a compass, which she had to learn how to use, a battery-charged phone charger, and a forty-eight pack of AA batteries. While packing everything into her backpack, she thought about bringing a pair of tennis shoes.

Just in case. She got her good pair and packed them in with her new hiking boots. Stephanie watched her from her walker that her papa had bought her. It had different toys attached that she liked playing with. Her little legs were learning how to move around the floor. She was curious about what her mommy and papa were doing. Bria said hello to her, making her smile. Hi, Mommy! After having an afternoon nap, she was happy as a baby could be.

Her diaper had been changed and she wasn’t yet ready for dinner. Bria continued packing everything into her backpack. It was a lot but she needed to be prepared for anything and everything, including rain storms, cold days, hot days, cold nights, bugs, tornadoes, and everything in between. Brad hugged his daughter. Was he scared? Yeah, he was. He was scared of something happening to her.

But he also knew that he had to let her go. They would miss her. He just hoped she would be home before Stephanie’s first birthday. She was leaving in a week, so he had to get himself ready for that. For now, he bent down to his granddaughter’s level. She smiled at him and kicked her feet. Papa. Her papa. He said hello to her. She was just the cutest and happiest baby he ever met. Stephanie babbled in agreement, making him laugh.

Bria hasn’t had her shop for too long, just under a year and she’s scared to death about the upcoming purge. Usually, she would hideaway in her cozy apartment with friends and family but she has an entire business to look after this year.

Her stance on the purge? She neither supports or resents it. It’s just another thing that life has thrown at her in this lifetime, but it doesn’t mean she’s not afraid of something happening to her. Would she ever participate? Most likely not. The most she can imagine is hurting someone who tries to hurt her.

Character Intro: Nymphe (Kingdom of Ichor)

Age- 36 (immortal)

Location- New Olympus, Olympius (The Royal Palace)

Personality- She's a very calm and centered person that's in tune to her emotions as well as the emotions of other beings. She can be quite neurotic at times too. She's casually dating.

She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. Being the goddess of self-care her other powers/abilities include cleaning inducement, pheromone generation (pherogenesis), vitakinesis (healing; by aromatherapy), limited ambrosia manipulation, having an innate sense of other beings' auras, calm inducement (temporarily in others), internal body cleansing, and body meridian manipulation (is well versed in pressure point martial arts).

Nymphe is a member of The Horae, otherwise known as "The Guardians of the Gates." She takes pride in her role in the group & in the pantheon, greeting the visitors of the palace with a warm handshake and bright smile. Nymphe actively volunteers for shifts at the palace's gift shop whenever she's free to.

She lives in a suite apartment in the royal palace. The apartment has a peaceful and airy aesthetic with various lit aromatic candles, diffusers, flowy curtains, & translucent furniture pieces like lucite chairs and glass tables.

Nymphe pays her handmaidens (who are aurai & anthousai nymphs) extra (out of pocket) whenever they partake in lengthy breaks.

Among The Horae she's more closer to Sponde (goddess of libations), Mesembria (Bria) (goddess of the afternoon), Auge (goddess of first daylight), and Gymnasia (goddess of excercise & gymnastics).

She goes for a light workout in the mornings- jogging through the main outer courtyard of the palace before enjoying a nice bath with seafoam-seaweed extract bath bombs!

Nymphe gets around through use of her bike & public transportation (thanks to an unlimited rechargable transport card).

A typical breakfast for her is a stack of coconut pancakes (topped with her homemade coconut whipped cream) along with scrambled egg whites, turkey bacon, and a small bowl of sliced fruit. She's also a fan of the Eathly Harvest vanilla almond cereal.

A go-to drink for her is her homemade lemon infused water. She also likes coconut water, homemade beet & berries smoothies, orange juice, soy milk, lychee juice, her homemade iced kombucha tea, red wine, and lemon-lime soda. Her usuals from The Roasted Bean is a small cranberry strawberry splash & a medium hot decaf latte.

Nymphe has a girly boho sense of style. Her closet is filled with maxi skirts, sandals, wide leg pants, wedges, flats, and extra flowy maxi dresses.

She loves snacking on cucumber slices!

Aside from her main job, Nymphe has her own business- a website called somatikí evdaimonía that sells various self-care/wellness products like crystal & gem face rollers, homemade bath bombs (which her handmaidens help make), face masks, and scalp massagers. There are talks for a makeshift store to open in the Mall of Olympius. For other means of income she's a contributing writer for Vital Essence magazine. Nymphe also models for/endorses Glory's Crown (loves the ambrosia honey line of products), EverPure (the goddess Hygieia's skincare brand), White Lily Gallery, Perusasions (the goddess Peitho's fashion brand), & Heavenly Spark.

A go-to thing she loves getting at The Bread Box is the grilled chicken wrap along with a sugar snap pea and kale salad.

Outside The Horae Nymphe's good friends with Damia (goddess of naturalness), Nárkosi (goddess of sedation), Thilasmós (goddess of nursing), Epione (goddess of soothing pain), Sophrosyne (goddess of moderation, temperance, & restraint), Apheleia (goddess of simplicity), Elais (goddess of oil), Sardo (one of The Nesoi), Pherusa (goddess of substance & farm estates), Aegle (goddess of good health), Eváeros (goddess of air & the zodiacs), Selene (Titaness of the moon), Hesychia (goddess of quiet, stillness, rest, & silence), Philotes (goddess of sex, friendship, & affection), and Paean (goddess of physicians).

A guilty pleasure for her are dark chocolate mini gelato bars! Nymphe always buys two to three boxes when she shops for groceries.

She's currently in talks to be a mentor to Aceso (goddess of healing), the youngest child of Epione.

A notable vacation she took along with Damia was to The Lytêrios Oasis, the adult nudist resort owned by Pan (god of the wild, satyrs, shepherds, & rustic music).

As a gift celebrating the Summer Solstice holiday, she got a peony shaped jeweled Diamond Ave. clutch from Sardo.

As for Nymphe's romantic life, her last real relationship was with Neicus (god of debate & appeal). They mutually decided to end the relationship due to wanting different things. Before that, Nymphe was in a relationship with Helios (Titan god of the sun). She's currently messaging Corymbus (Cory) (god of ivy) on Fatestgram.

In her free time Nymphe enjoys going out on walks, yoga, swimming, knitting, sewing, meal prepping, listening to music, hiking, napping, DIY projects, reading, doing crossword puzzles, acupuncture, and surfing.

Her favorite dessert is the bougatsa waffle cone ice cream sundae from The Frozen Spoon.

Her favorite meal is a hot steaming bowl of fasolada. She also likes spaghetti chicken alfredo.

We Flew the Skys

In the time before now but just after then, the wild colorful beasts roam the land. In between the purple forrists and the pink sea where the smog crawls up the mountain searching for lonely travelers to feast on. Far below next to the clear river a village rises from the dirt surrounded by mist that permanently swirls and dances around the trees and boulders that surrounds it. Inside, creatures scamper playing and working in the mystery that engulfs it. These are the Magicie, a race that has lived longer even than the colorful beast and twice as long as the humans who hunt them.

For hundreds of years the humans and the Magicie had lived in peace trading in the midnight markets that glow through the night, buying the berries that only grow on the other mountains. This was where the friendship ended they would never venture into the others village and they would never become friends or fall in love.

Selestian walked through the mist towards the village in which he had spent all of his life, inside the fence the mist cleared and the river ran clear through the dark trees. It was beautiful as only a Magicie village could be. Selestian was a River Nymph and had spent his life as most Nymphs do lounging in the sun that beat down onto the rocks that surrounded the cool stream, learning the history of their family at the schools . When they grow older visiting the forest markets and meeting people from the other villages.

The old door squeaks as it opens letting out a warmth from within as well as the smell of the fish,

“Hullo,” Selestian called out as he walked through the doorway taking in the sight of his home. The familiar wooden slats and the colorful mats on the ground. He is greeted by his sisters Ellia and Bria

“Welcome home Seles” Bria calls him.

They exchange greetings and make their way towards the low table where Maria their Mother had laid out a meal. They ate mostly in silence only to comment on the food and to talk about their day. the event was somber, it had been like this for a few months since their father Bolmund had sailed towards the line and the storm had taken his ship.

Many years on, when the colorful beast had long since gone from the known realm and the seas had lost their color, the bright trees had fallen down and green ones grew instead. tall concrete towers rose from the gray rivers of tar and metallic dragons race down them. a girl runs past the towers as the red orb in the sky sets over the the dark mountain that still rises into the sky mist swirling around the summit and rivers running down towards the synthetic life style that the residents now live.

She ran towards the old wooden house, the paint was old and flaking. The door and windows non existent. A cold wind came from nowhere and wrapped the building in its cold grasp, She calls out into the empty chamber where the door should be

“Hullo!”

A hollow whispering flew through the house calling her inside.

“Welcome Gaina.” they called to her from the dark shadows of the broken room

“You know that's not my name right!” she shouted into space “my name is Emily!”

“That is only what the humans call you, we call you by your real name.” A whispering chorus sings from the shadows,

Gaina walked into the cold room that the voices were coming from, “who are you?” she said to the empty space in which they hid.

“We are the ghosties.” one says flying across the room turning red as it flew before disappearing again.

“I still don't know what that is.” Gaina asked in despair and confusion

“Faeries, Nymphs, Magicie,” whispers crawls from the dark, “stories, Make believe.”

“What's your name!?” she calls out in frustration

A wind rushes into the room with it light and cold then out of it steps a boy, his skin was a pale blue and his hair a black so dark that the sun wouldn't even be able to penetrate it. When he spoke his voice was soft and calming “my name is, Selestian.” but as he spoke he began to fade away,

“Why are you here?” the girl asked

“Remember…” he spoke and faded away to join the other spirits in the dark.

“What!!!?” she shouted at the creatures
