In the days before a branch of the public library was built in Coney Island, residents relied on weekly visits to the bookmobile. The library-on-wheels made this stop at the Gravesend Houses every Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:50 during the 1950s, and these kindergartners from P.S. 188 were there.
