Book 54 of the 50 book challenge. Ghosts by Daylight by Janine Di Giovanni. A memoir about war reporting and life at peace. Her first reporting was in the former Yugoslavia in the early 1990’s, where she met her ex husband. It’s a great book.

I have mixed feelings about the Valar summoning the elves to Valinor. The Silmarillion keeps pointing out how much of an unfortunate thing it is, and that hits me right in the feels every time.
But can I just say that Elwë is actually kind of cute? Like, this little guy wants to go to Valinor, he wants to hang out with his best bud Finwë, yet he has a huge family that doesn’t really want to go and he’s not going to willingly leave them behind. Imagine him frantically running to the front of the group to see if he can spot any sign of the Nolder and then racing to the back to encourage everyone to ‘keep going, we can do this!’. Wash and repeat. No wonder his brother had to help him lead.
This little guy wormed his way straight into my heart. It's not even fair.
I sure hope nothing bad happens to him.

Answered Prayer for Deliverance from Adversaries
To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments. A Contemplation of David when the Ziphites went and said to Saul, “Is David not hiding with us?”
1 Save me, O God, by Your name,
And vindicate me by Your strength.
2 Hear my prayer, O God;
Give ear to the words of my mouth.
3 For strangers have risen up against me,
And oppressors have sought after my life;
They have not set God before them.
Selah
4 Behold, God is my helper;
The Lord is with those who uphold my life.
5 He will repay my enemies for their evil.
Cut them off in Your truth.
6 I will freely sacrifice to You;
I will praise Your name, O Lord, for it is good.
7 For He has delivered me out of all trouble;
And my eye has seen its desire upon my enemies.

Bianca was so touched by the romantic sentiments expressed in "Miss You" that she reportedly ordered her attorneys to slow down divorce proceedings.
Unfortunately for the estranged Mrs. Jagger, the disco-driven "Miss You" was inspired by Mick's Studio 54 nights with Jerry Hall.

So... about this book...
In this post I talk about my own book "Illness from Within" (see the post for literally the entire plot) and I remembered that I have some old art for it!
So I wanted to share them with you. These characters may not look like this when I resume writing this story as I'm not really happy with the designs anymore. I like their overall colour scheme though, so that will stay.
Image: latest character design (2022)
Image: Cover WIP (2022)
Image: Very first character design of protags (2021)
Image Remastered and second character design of protags (2021)
And as I am talking about character design right now!
I'm currently working on the design sheet for my Spidersona (have fallen down the rabbithole of Into/Across the Spiderverse) and the Azar design sheet is onhold for now. It was nearly finnished but I didn't like her more casual clothes (when not in armor) and her like "farm/village" clothes. So that will take a while.

"yeah it starts out slow but gets really good after the 26th season you just have to stick it out"
damn that sucks for you meanwhile MY show starts off with the best pilot of all time in which the two leads lay down a foundation of trust that will be the driving force for the entire series

Stephen Is Seized While Doing Miracles And Proclaiming Christ With Irresistible Wisdom
(6) 8 Now Stephen, full of grace and power, was doing great wonders and signs among the people. 9 But some of the ones from the synagogue being called “of Freedmen”— both Cyrenians and Alexandrians, and the ones from Cilicia and Asia— rose-up, debating with Stephen. 10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit with which he was speaking. 11 Then they secretly-induced men [to begin] saying that “We have heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God”. 12 And they stirred-up the people and the elders and the scribes. And having suddenly-come-upon him, they seized him and brought him to the Sanhedrin. 13 And they put-forward false witnesses, saying, “This man does not cease speaking words against this holy place and the Law. 14 For we have heard him saying that this Jesus the Nazarene will tear-down this place, and change the customs which Moses handed-down to us”. 15 And having looked-intently at him, all the ones sitting in the council [chamber] saw his face was like a face of an angel.
(7) 1 And the high priest said, “Do these things hold so?”
Stephen Reports Seeing Jesus At The Right Hand of God. The Jews Stone Him To Death
(7) 54 And hearing these things, they were infuriated in their hearts, and were grinding their teeth at him. 55 But being full of the Holy Spirit, having looked-intently into heaven, he saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right side of God. 56 And he said, “Behold— I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing on the right side of God!” 57 And having cried-out with a loud voice, they held-shut their ears, and rushed against him with-one-accord. 58 And having driven him outside of the city, they were stoning him. And the witnesses laid-aside their garments at the feet of a young-man being called Saul. 59 And they were stoning Stephen while he was calling-upon Jesus and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit”. 60 And having put down his knees, he cried-out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not set this sin against them”. And having said this, he fell-asleep.
