The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe's entry for the Sentinels. Mark Gruenwald and Peter Sanderson did the research and wrote this up and the key illustrations are by Larry Hama (main picture) and Eliot R. Brown (interior schematic). I believe that's Bob McLeod art sampled from New Mutants #2 in those other pictures.

This looks vaguely like a Terminator movie, not gonna lie.

Why they can't just give up on Sentinels and bigotry? They're acting as if they were expecting mutants to create an empire or something. But I guess it's a stupid thing to ask, when I watch the same in real life.

I always thought that it was ironically fitting that when Bolivar Trask first created the Sentinel robots to try and hunt down and destroy mutants, his creations almost immediately turned on their creator and threatened to conquer and enslave the human race as a whole.

In essence, Trask ended up creating the ACTUAL threat to humanity that he falsely labeled mutants to be:

As Stan Lee so eloquently narrated at the end of the 3-part storyline which introduced the Sentinels:

“Beware the fanatic! Too often his cure is deadlier by far than the evil he denounces!”

That's a message that sadly continues to be increasingly relevant with the current ongoing resurgence of fascism and far-right extremism worldwide...

The fact that the sentinels debut is actually about their inventor slowly learning not to be prejudicial and sacrificing himself to save the X-Men is such a good story. We need to lay more respect on Dr. Bolivar Trask, a man who learned his errors before it was too late (X-Men #16):

I skimmed the next issue and it actually ends on a major cliffhanger, so I'm just going to stop reading Uncanny X-Men on this issue instead.

The next time we'll be reading this book will be issue #55! So, it won't be for quite a while.

Next will be reading up to Avengers #25 and then, finally, back to the Fantastic Four!

Ten things I’d want from an MCU x men movie.

Some goddamn respect put on Charles Xavier’s good name.

Stryker or Trask as the bad guy. No magneto or mystique. Society has grown past the need for magneto and mystique. Unless of course they pull an “eviler than thou” and get appropriately killed off.

One singular wolverine cameo. But not Hugh Jackman. Jake Abel.

Jean x Scott. And no Howlett interference.

Marie x Bobby. Let them be happy for a change.

Ororo x Kurt. It’d be interesting

Charles x Moria. There’s so much potential.

Don’t ruin Hank like dark Phoenix did. It was so fucking insulting.

Tying into point one. Don’t villainise Charles for making the right call. He’s a fucking telepath. He knows what he’s doing. Stop trying to nerf him to prop up the fridge decoration and evil lizard.

Actually find a platform to speak from and stick with it. If humans are the problem. Make them the problem. Stop trying to make it a grey and grey morality issue when it shouldn’t be.

There’s almost definitely more but that’s all I can think of right now. So. Tell me what you think?
