🍓 for me, if you wanna?
@mutuals send me a 🍓 and ill compliment u! // ACCEPTING & LET ME LOVE YOU ALL!!!
TEERRRRIIII BABBBYYY!!! you've been supporting me since I think Gwen actually? I've always followed your other muses, I adore your work! My favorite thing is you adopting the headcanon that Gwen has nightmares about her death in the clocktower/the G.W Bridge if you follow comic lore. You focus on the PTSD that she has and it's honestly amazing to see that written.
I'm addition, I love how adaptable you are, always willingly to plot/make it work with other writers so characters can fit yall can enjoy writing together/world building! You're a joy to see on the dash and I'm always happy to throw an Atlas + Claire at ya!

Want to understand what is happening on Twitter?
Let me tell you a story of a bygone age, of the age of:
Tumblr media
Imagine if you will it is the mid 2000s. The Invasion of Iraq is in full swing and blogging was the new hotness. So was #Mozilla's open source web browser: Firefox.  Now Firefox either introduced or popularized a lot of features, like multi-tab browsing and addons. One of those addons was Clipmarks. It allowed anyone to use a snipping tool to "clip" parts of any website (including videos from YT) and share them on their blogs. It also had its own website, just like Twitter, Facebook, or more relevant, Tumblr. You could share your clips there and people could comment on them. Except that the site had no moderation: no mods and no moderation tools.
If you are thinking to yourself, "OMG" then you are right. The devs/owners claimed the reason for this was because they were, "Free Speech Absolutists", but the trolls called it Paradise. Specifically one troll who we will call Willy.  Now Willy was a wily troll (hehehe), not very smart, but then stupid people are stupid because they don't know how stupid they are. So Willy would come to your clips comment section and drop paragraph long diatribes that boiled down to, "Marx is bad evil, ummkay?  Of course he was very much into "feigning intelligence" and wanted to come out as erudite and smarter than anyone else so he used the word, "Materialism". But he was a hardcore  one-note right-wing libertarian. Naturally, two things happened:
1. He attracted cruder cohorts. Think Shapiro/Walsh/Fuentes line of trolldom.
 2. There was push back from the left-side of Clipmarks.
Remember this is in the mid 00s. The country was sharply divided around the War on Terror and many of the clips in clipmarks were about the subject. Back then we thought G.W. Bush was the record holder for dumbest President. How naïve we were.
Then as all successful tech startups, the owners started shopping clipmarks around, but no one would buy a clear example of the Internet Wild West. So they implemented self-mod options, like blocking unwanted commentators from clips.  This made Olde Willy apoplectic. He ranted and raved at the owners in ever long diatribes. It was all about his "Free Peach" and so on. You know the drill. In response the owners tried to explain to him that this was not, in fact, a violation of his rights.
But you see a troll doesn't want to simply express themselves. They want to dominate a space. They want to stand on the bridge and demand a toll mainly whatever shibboleth marks you as being part of their tribe.  So Willy fanned the flames, invaded other people's clips and posted longer and longer rants. The owners responded by giving certain users secret mod powers which of course let to shadow banning.  As the conflagration spread  all the folks that simply wanted to share kitty videos or recipes left in droves, as did the targets of the trolls. So the trolls won, right?
Nope. The owners had already sold the company to Forbes who simply neglected it. It withered on the vine with the echoes of repeated and rancid political arguments. A flash in the pan of the internet's wild west days and an object lesson for today.
Trolls will always burn the house down to get what they want and what they crave is attention + control. If a troll has enough money he can buy the most popular social media site and burn it to the ground himself only to prove that he can. Thus endeth the lesson.

The Case that Crushed the A.D.A
Chapter 1
Sonny Carisi had had enough. Enough of his job, enough of the people in his life, and enough of life itself. He stood on the G.W. Bridge with a bottle in his hand. His Fordham Law t-shirt was soaking wet, his hair unkempt. He looked out across the water and took a swig from the bottle.
‘No one is going to miss me.’ Sonny thought.
He climbed over the railing of the bridge. He tried not to fall. If he was going to fall into the water he wanted it to be on his own terms. It took a bit to gain the courage. Just as he was about to jump, he hears his phone ring. He shakes his head and tries to concentrate.
‘I have to do this.’ Sonny thinks.
His phone dings. He knows he now has a text message. Frustrated he climbs back over the railing. He can at least answer the person one last time. He looks at the message and all the feelings he was trying to suppress comes back. He takes the bottle and smashes it on the bridge, cutting his hand. He collapses onto the bridge and sobs.
3 WEEKS BEFORE
Sonny stood on the sidewalk checking his phone. Amanda had messaged a few times wanting to know if he would be over that night. He loved Amanda with everything in him. But tonight he had to meet someone else. A cab pulled up in front of him. He opened the door and a beautiful Italian women stepped out. She had dark hair with blue streaks that matched her blue eyes.
“It’s about time you showed up.” Sonny said.
The woman wraps her arms around Sonny’s waist.
“The traffic was brutal all the way in.” Gina Carisi answered.
Sonny was nervous to see his little sister. She had tried to stay away from the family. Serafina and Gina didn’t see eye to eye and the last time they were together, there was a huge blow up.
“So did you bring it?” Sonny nervously asked.
“Of course, I did. But you must buy me a drink first.” Gina grinned.
Sonny was never one to drink tequila but his little sister insisted on doing shots with him. Gina could drink him under the table.
“So how did the dinner go?” Gina asked, trying to make small talk.
“Good, good.” Sonny answered before smiling “Ma is excited to meet Jessie and Billie, but only after asking if their fathers were in the picture.”
“That sounds about like Ma.” Gina scoffed.
“Of course, she wanted to know if we would be giving her any more grandchildren.” Sonny shook his head.
“And will you? You know I won’t be giving her any.” Gina smirked.
“I don’t know. Amanda already has her two girls. I don’t know if she would be open to having more kids.” Sonny answered.
Gina’s eyes went wide. “But you think she’s going to be open to marriage?”
“It’s a chance I’m willing to take. I’m in love with her. Have been for a while.” Gina could see the stupid lovesick puppy look on Sonny’s face.
She smiled and pulled a ring box out from her jacket pocket.
“I always thought I was going to be the one to wear Great-Grandmother Carisi’s ring, but I have such a bad track record with guys I don’t think I will ever get married.” Gina rolled her eyes.
Gina slid the ring over to Sonny. He opened the box and smiled. Inside was a beautiful big diamond ring.
“I think she’s going to love it.” Sonny smiled.
“Just don’t forget to invite me to the wedding.” Gina said as she punched Sonny’s arm.
“You know I would never forget about my little sister.” Sonny said putting his arm around Gina.
Gina looked at her phone and stood up quickly.
“I hate to cut our little family reunion short, but I’m supposed to meet someone tonight.” Gina said grabbing her purse and putting it across her shoulder.
“Another ‘hot date’” Sonny said with air quotes.
“I’ve been talking to someone on a dating app.” Gina defended.
“Just be careful on those things. I’ve worked too many cases of women getting raped after meeting someone on those apps.” Sonny warned.
“Dom, you’re paranoid. I’ll be fine.” Gina defended.
Sonny pulled his sister in close and placed a tender kiss on the top of her head. He towered over the woman who was the shortest of the Carisi siblings, only standing at 5’3.
“At least come to Ma’s tomorrow for brunch. I’m bringing Amanda with me. I would love for you to finally meet her.” Sonny begged.
“Only for you Dominick. You know Ma and I don’t get along.” Gina smirked.
“I know, but can you guys please be civil, for Amanda’s sake?” Sonny asked.
“So, take out my nose ring to keep Ma from making comment got it.” Sonny rolled his eyes at her. “I promise I will be there tomorrow.”

There are some news sources that will mention the activities of the super-hero community, especially in the face of calamity. But it is a fine line for the media to walk upon, because even if the heroism is rightly and accurately noted, it runs the risk of endorsing the activities of vigilantes -- something Uncle Sam would be none too happy about. So many major news outlets in New York find it easier to pretend they don't exist, or that their effects upon whatever disaster befalls the city is minimal in the end.
It's a craven outlook, Spider-Man knows. And it's the price those organizations pay to do business. He understands the cutthroat pragmatism of the media even better than most, and though he frequently looks, he can find little fault in those outlets' conduct, insofar as their attempts to properly report the events of the city, state, country, world are concerned. How much do people like him really move the needle, in the cosmic scheme? There's no knowing, really. It takes the threat of a nuclear strike or some potential Armageddon event on the line for them to acknowledge the existence and efforts of people like him.
But he hadn't gotten into this business for the accolades, and surely not for the paycheck. He'd done it simply because it was the right thing to do.
Which was why, as Peter Parker had gone to the hardware store to retrieve supplies for Doctor Octavius' latest tweaks, he'd heard about the cataclysmal pileup on the G.W. Bridge and known that he had to do something about it... even if it meant the good Doctor would have to wait a little longer for that equipment. Parker had vanished for a good hour's time while Spider-Man had hurtled across the city to lend his aid. And he might have even stayed longer, had it not been for the timely arrival of a true power couple of the streets, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, pulling more people from trashed cars and clearing debris. (Those two didn't even have masks, either. Spidey could admit feeling a touch of shame at hiding his own face when they didn't seem to fear showing theirs.)
His urgency to return to his civilian role had taken over at that point, when they'd made clear everything was in capable hands... and no sooner had he passed the clerk the company credit card than a blaring emergency announcement came over local radio that there was a high-speed chase in progress with an armed and extremely dangerous suspect -- whose description he'd immediately recognized as Shocker. Herman had evidently taken advantage of the distraction posed by the presence of street heroes on the bridge to knock over a bank completely on the other side of Manhattan (which tended to be another reason why news outlets were loathe to mention said heroes; revealing their location in one place meant that they weren't patrolling any others).
And he simply didn't have enough time to go help without putting his job and livelihood at risk... even a man as kind and understanding as Otto had only so much patience and good will to spare.
He'd reluctantly returned to the workshop looking dejected, and Otto had noticed immediately, even in the midst of ribbing Peter for taking his time. They'd had as much of a heart-to-heart as could be managed without completely spilling the beans on the alter ego of Spider-Man. Otto had reassured him that the work they're doing will be beneficial to so many out there, the numbers will seem abstract but the results will be real and tangible. And it had given Peter a spark of hope. So, too, had the notion that the police had been able to capture Shocker without casualties and without too many injuries, though the damage to property would take weeks of repair.
Given the work he'd already put in at the bridge, the others (his blanket term for the super-powered types who haunted various corners of New York at night) would have forgiven him for not taking a patrol tonight... and particularly since the forecast called for a thunderstorm. Daredevil claimed that created ideal conditions for his own patrols, though he tended to stick to Hell's Kitchen. Spidey's webs weren't quite as cooperative in the rain, but after neglecting to confront Shocker, he can't help but feel guilty, and so his patrol had begun in earnest in a torrential downpour.
Barely an hour into that patrol and he's already grown wet, cold, and miserable. Web-swinging through the Manhattan night isn't nearly as much fun during inclement weather of really any kind, and he considers calling it early -- except something bids him to swing past Nurse Beth's apartment, and he's not quite sure what that thing is, save for some strange manner of intuition. Maybe it's woven into his spider-sense, though he doesn't immediately detect danger in that direction. But surrounding her, there's a certain odd aura. The aura itself is a shroud of banality, but in its core is something visceral. She's perhaps the most docile person he knows... except he also knows she isn't, if pushed in just the right direction and with just the right amount of force.
His pass above her building is rewarded with the sight of her seated under her roof awning, and she looks as miserable emotionally as he feels physically. So he corrects his trajectory and then lets go of his line, coming in for a landing on the nearest parapet. Her crying is not loud or demonstrative, but he can see the subtle quaking of her shoulders.
He doesn't know precisely what it is she needs in this moment. But he knows what he would need if he were feeling like that. And so that's what he silently goes to offer. Nothing more than a quiet "Hey," and then taking a seat beside her, hoping she won't mind his soaking wet rear end on her furniture, nor his glove gushing out water as he gently takes her hand in his, nor the dripping of rain from his arm as he settles it across her shoulders.
That soft offering of a not-quite-hug quickly morphs into one when she wraps herself about him and buries her face against him. Even with his own heart beating, he can feel hers clearly, and he can feel more than hear the quietest keening of her voice against his chest. And feeling so much of her in grief and despair, in a twisted reflection of his own sense of misery and guilt, nearly draws out a sob of his own in utter empathy.
"GW Bridge?" he whispers, knowing she must have worked with some of those victims. A huff of a breath escapes through his mask, and he suddenly realizes in a way he hadn't before just how suffocating it feels to have a wet cloth over his face, especially in a moment like this.
With his free hand, he reaches to the neckline of his mask and tugs it up until his lips are revealed, and he draws a breath of the cold but humid air surrounding them.
And, perhaps acting more on instinct than any rational thought... he cranes his head down and brushes the gentlest of kisses into the crown of her hair.

“Dom, my entire life has been a fight! Do you have any idea how heavy a burden it is to walk around with all of this piled on your back? I made my ‘big statement’ to the people of this world. If you weren’t paying attention, shame on you. I’m done with being a general, a messiah, a savior, and a fool all at the same time. [...] I’ve done enough, haven’t I? I’ve fought long enough! Let my last act- showing people how this world could be better- let that be the end!” Cable & Deadpool (2004) #12
