Lot of heartache in this weeks episode of X Men 97. Jean and Scott are further driven apart and find themselves instead being drawn to others.... Logan and Madelyn. Can't say I'm surprised. I saw this coming a mile away.

but truly today's episode was really all about the love triangle between Rogue, Gambit and Magneto. EVERYTHING was finally revealed about Rogue and Magneto's former relationship before Rogue joined the X-Men.

I was waiting to hear this story, but I was not prepared for the consequences and heartache that would follow afterwards, especially for poor Gambit. I always hated when Rogue constantly turned him down before in X-Men, but this was the absolute worst thing she ever could've done to him.

Rogue did the unthinkable and completely broke Gambit's heart. "You light up everything you touch.... but never me." OUCH!!!

My heart hasn't felt this broken in a long time and I just can't believe she said that. I'm so sorry for the poor guy. Rogue made a big mistake and by the time she realized it... it was too late.

Remy died, believing Rogue never loved him and that her heart belonged to Magneto and now she has has to live with it. The pain and guilt of breaking Remy's heart and even worse, the regret she now feels of everything she said to him before he sacrificed himself to save them all.

Downright the most heartbreaking episode of X Men 97.

X-Men ‘97 Spoilers:The social commentary of this show is more relevant then ever,seeing how humanity can be cruel to those they don’t understand is haunting.I love that Jean and Scott(from what I’ve watched so far)are going to be parents but not sure how I feel about them potentially leaving the X-Men I understand wanting to keep their family safe and as Wolverine said the X-Men face crisis’s on a daily basis,but will the baby be any safer out in society when people know Jean and Scott are mutants and their enemies can find them?Also this giant ass Apocalypse thing coming that Jean saw yeah the X-Men might need all the help they can get(which is why I’m so happy to see Magneto is joining them!)Gambits crop top and Cajun accent❤️him and Rogue are my OTPs of this show so happy to see them again!Liking Bishop on the team,Storm is still a badass and love her hair!Morph is awesome and am digging his and Wolverines dynamic.Jubilee and Roberto are cute and Wolverine being Wolverine as ever☺️Kind of wish they’d drop this love triangle with Wolverine-Jean-Scott though and let Logan move on.Beast my beloved scientist how I’ve missed you!I miss Charles Xavier and seeing Scott trying to lead the team but again being torn about maybe leaving I don’t know who would lead them-Wolverine?Storm?Magneto!?Sorry for info dumping so much on this post just really dig this show!

Yes it's a little bit my Scogan brain talking but I really like the idea of comphet Scott/Jean. Scott is the professor's right hand in the field and Jean is his Girl Friday, I'm sure before they got together all the students were like, placing bets on how long it would take, making not-so-subtle comments when the two of them were together for any reason, etc., and it feels like an interesting angle to me if they started dating because that was what was expected of them. They both have a lot of responsibility placed on them and they feel pressure to live up to it, and the concept of that mindset spilling out from the professional parts of their lives into the personal parts is very interesting to me, especially when considering that the professional and personal are very closely linked at the school because they don't just work together in the field, they work together as teachers, they live in the same house, they're friends with a lot of the same people who are also their mutual teammates. Naturally, I love the idea of Scott realizing that isn't the relationship he truly wants to be in when Logan shows up, and since Jean is a telepath she figures it out real quick and feels kind of relieved, because when she realizes that Scott wants out she finally lets herself admit that she has the same feeling.

I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion or not but

While yes. Mileven can be compared to Clark x Lois. I also think that on the marvel end of the spectrum. They’re Scott x Jean. If Jean had been abducted at birth and raised by Lensherr for the formative years of her life. Especially the movie version. The Original Canon Couple. Who don’t seem to be liked by a very annoyingly loud subset of the fandom. Where the girl is telekinetic and had a run in with a parasite. And the boy is the leader but, again, certain fans don’t seem to like him for some reason. So yeah. While mileven can be compared to Clark x Lois, I also like to believe that they can be compared to Scott x Jean.
