I Love You, Professor (Biadore) - Bogozbinted
A/N: i wrote this at 2am. enjoy you freaks
Hellooo, is anyone home?”
Bianca waved her hand in front of her younger student’s lost face, as usual they weren’t paying attention at the slightest. She had to deal with dumb, moody teenagers all day, it was her entire career after all. But something about Adore was different, in a way that couldn’t be explained.
“Huh? Oh, soz…”
Adore kept her head tilted, their posture still slouched and uninterested. She was relying on no more than 3 hours of sleep, plus recovering from a shitty break up with her boyfriend. She was bored, too busy focusing on the relationships in her life instead of studying 18th century European music, not the most exciting topic ever…
They started eyeing the older woman as she continued to teach the rest of the class. From her long curly ginger hair to her black heels; Adore just couldn’t take her eyes off her. Was it the sleep depravity or the weed? Who knows, but Adore definitely knew what she wanted in that specific moment - her music professor.
Their eyes were glued on her. She had a more mature, fuller frame. Adore had never been with a woman before, especially not one twice their age. Usually she would just whore herself out to random men. But, something about their emotions towards this woman was so timid and shy. She was practically flustered, just sitting there thinking about her teacher fully clothed. Her dark tights gripped her curvy legs, complemented with a fitting leather pencil skirt, hugging her wide hips. Adores leg began bouncing like mad, as if she was an excited dog.
Her body was naturally slender and tall, despite being on estrogen for 2 years she wasn’t very shaped but it was usually good enough. They liked being manhandled, but she had never thought about being with another woman. They couldn’t stop thinking about their pale body being held and groped by h-
“Sleepyhead, it’s been 20 minutes and your pen hasn’t even grazed your paper. Can you stay after class so we can talk?”
Fuck. Adore felt as if she’d just been caught in the act. She was just tired on a Tuesday afternoon and not in the mood (for class at least). They would usually try in school, however after a decade or so of it, you get quite bored. She was 18, they could drive, drink, the last place they wanted to be was a classroom. And as people packed their bags and chattered down the corridor, Adore’s paper was still completely blank besides some accidental scribbles.
“C’mon sweet, come sit next to me.”
Bianca gestured and pulled out a stool next to her, she was used to the horrific squeak of the furniture against the hard floors. Adore slowly dragged herself, asif she was a corpse, towards the stool.
“Somethings clearly bothering you. I hope you’re just tired and sober, ‘cuz I would hate to see you throw away your education like this, Dorey.”
“No, no, it’s not that.” The younger girl rubbed her eyes, almost sweating at the thought of how close they were to her sexy professor. “I just, y'know, broke up with my boyfriend and I don’t even, like, know how I feel…”
“Hmm, sweetie,” Bianca put her hand on their shoulder, rubbing it soothingly . “I don’t really know how I can help. That’s not really any of my business as your tea-”
“Maybe you could give me extra tutoring?” Adore blurted out, in a heated rush
“Hah, did you make all that up so you could ask me that?”
“No, I’m just too tired to think.”
“The usual. I think the library will be empty Thursday after school, I’ll meet you then, okay?”
Adore nodded while grabbing their stuff sloppily, turning towards the door.
“Oh, and when you’re staring at my tits, make it a little less obvious next time.”
Bianca smirked as she watched her student rush out in embarrassment. She had always liked Adore differently to the others. They were just a quiet stoner, but their passion for music seemed more genuine compared to everyone else in the class. Maybe getting off with them wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, infact, she was kind of into it. She’d been fantasising about it for a long time and she had finally found the perfect opportunity.
-> time skip because I’m lazy lolz  <-
Thursday came quickly, neither girl could stop thinking about each other. Bianca didn’t go into work, she told the office she had gone to a different school to examine their techniques. She spent her entire day preparing to meet her student, as if it was a date. Well, basically it was.
Despite how hard she tried to oppress it, she really enjoyed spending time with Adore. Thinking about the witty banter they would exchange in their classes every other day kept her going. She had a big house she inherited, but no one to share it with. Maybe her favourite student was perfect for the job?
Adore threw on her usual baggy trousers and hoodie. Despite beginning her transition 3 years ago, they never really had an interest in hyper femininity. They had a few slutty lingerie sets laying around, but that’s pretty much a set expectation for any woman in her prime. She obviously wanted to set a good impression in her fashion, however there’s no point when the clothes are just gonna end up on the floor. She wandered out the house, taking only her phone and airpods. The library was only in the city centre, a 15 minute walk from Adore’s trashy flat. The perfect amount of time to think about her actions and how she’s gonna behave.
“You’re on time, that’s new.” Bianca said, leaning into the girl to give her a small motherly kiss on the cheek.
“I just wanted to see you, that’s all”
“It’s sweet when you put effort in.”
The library was completely empty. After all it was a late Thursday afternoon, fairly dark outside. Even Bianca wasn’t really in the mood for education, she just needed an excuse, a cover up, to get closer to Adore. She plopped her bag on the wooden table, pulling out a thick leather-bound book.
“Here baby, these books have most of the notes in. Can you just copy them up for me?” She said, playing with the other girls’ brunette hair.
Adore nodded, whimpering slightly. She felt her professor’s warm hands travel up and down her thighs. Fuck. She has clearly done this with someone else before, the young girl had never seen anyone tease with this much skill. They bit down on their pen, cracking it slightly, trying to muffle her soft moans. By now, Bianca had fully unzipped her students’ jeans and had her hands gently massaging Adore’s ever growing bulge. She began grinding on her lover’s hand, still pretending to seem interested in her music work.
“Sweetheart, you haven’t written anything down yet.”
Adore let out a loud moan, she couldn’t help herself. She had never been teased so viciously in her entire life. Noone had ever focused on pleasuring them specifically, without benefit involved. Bianca’s touch was so aggressive in nature, yet so timid and loving towards Adore specifically. To think that her strict, well dressed music teacher was currently jerking her off in a public library was sending her brain further into overload.
“Ple-please, suck me off please.”
Adore whispered, their entire body tense. Their breathing became more vigorous as the gentle pace of the jerking slowed down.
“I don’t think you’ve done enough work baby.”
She worked her way down her students sensitive neck, leaving predominant purple bruises. Adore advanced her hands down the older woman’s blouse, squeezing her tits softly. Their cock started throbbing even harder. The risk of being caught, turned them both on to an extreme, combined with the nature of their ‘taboo’ relationship: Adore was set to cum any minute now. She pulled Bianca’s head from her butchered neck and to her lips. They could hardly keep their lips and hands off each other.
“Fuuck…”
Adore squirted cum up her lover’s shirt and all over her hands. Drawing her in for one final sloppy kiss. Reality had finally sunk in for both of them - had they just really done this in a public library. No actual progress was made in furthering her failing education, but it was still the most productive studying she had ever done in her life.
“I love you, professor.”

Something About You Takes Me Home (S8 Group Fic) - Candy Cane
A/N: uhhhhhh dont ask why im so obsessed with s8 rn i couldnt tell u. this fic features a lot of bob&kim bestieship and im. wow i love friendship. anyways pls enjoy!!! <333 and thank u @bogozbinted for spurring me on yet again :33
Summary: 4 times Kim took a picture of someone sleeping, and 1 time a picture was taken of her.
1: Naomi
It’s their fourth night in a row at the library, and the exhaustion of preparing for fall semester midterms is really starting to set in. Kim knows none of them are getting the sleep they usually would, that much is obvious. She’s in the same study room she always is with Naomi, Bob, and Monet, trying to stay as focused as she can on making a decent grade on her English paper. The only thing distracting her is Naomi, who is asleep face first in her notebook.
Kim feels bad, but she wants to laugh. The table they’re sitting at is covered in notes and textbooks and empty coffee cups, Bob has her earbuds in and is having a staring contest with her laptop, Monet is muttering to herself while looking over flashcards, and Naomi is just… asleep. Dead asleep. Her hair is pulled into a messy ponytail, she’s wearing a university hoodie, and Kim vividly remembers being in the same position her freshman year.
Midterms are rough, and she really shouldn’t even be considering it, yet she is so tempted. Against her better judgment, Kim pulls out her cellphone and sneakily takes a photo of Naomi in her exhausted state. The coffee cups and scrawling notes in the background of the photo make it all the better.
Monet notices and raises a questioning eyebrow at her, but Kim just shrugs in response. Monet rolls her eyes while Kim saves the photo to her favorite folder in her camera roll. It will be so funny in a week when this is all said and done and she can use it as a reaction image in her texts with Naomi.
“You sure are giddy for someone trying to write an A+ English paper,” Bob says, startling Kim enough to make her jump.
Kim frowns and gestures to Naomi, who is thankfully still sleeping, “Sh! You’ll wake her...”
“Ah yes, and then you won’t be able to collect more blackmail,” Bob smirks.
“I’m not going to share it with anyone,” Kim says in an attempt to defend herself, “I’m just going to tease her with it until it gets old.”
  Monet chuckles, “Damn, how thoughtful.”
Kim giggles, though she tries to stay as quiet as possible, she reallydoesn’t want to wake up her friend. If she she fell asleep studying then she definitely needs the rest.
“It’s fun,” Kim offers, smiling at the exasperated expressions on her friends’ faces.
“You are evil, Kimberly,” Bob grins at her.
  “Thank you,” Kim replies proudly.
A week later, Naomi texts her complaining about how tired she is. Kim sends the picture with the caption, ‘This tired?’
Naomi: im going to kill you.
Kim sends back a winky face.
  2: Bob
Kim deeply regrets choosing an 8 a.m. class, especially since its English class. Unfortunately, she desperately needs the credit and this was the only time available to take the class. She supposes it’s not all bad, though, since she’s made really close friends through it. While Bob is the only friend she actually has the class with, Bob has connected her to so many people she wouldn't have met otherwise. Kim is grateful for her friend’s kind heart, she doesn’t know what her semester would look like so far without this friendship that’s for sure.
As per usual, the two friends are sitting right next to each other while their professor drones on and on about the next piece of literature they’ll be reading for the class. Kim is so bored she might cry, so she leans over to share that important bit of information with Bob only to find her friend has fallen asleep.
She stifles a giggle by biting her lip, wondering just what Bob was doing last night to fall asleep leaning against her hand during their first class of the day. It’s not like her at all, Bob is the type to diligently take notes and make jokes throughout a lecture. Kim spends a long moment considering if she should wake Bob up, then she lands on a much better idea.
Covertly, she pulls out her phone and snaps a photo as quick as she can manage. She shoves her phone back into her pocket, excited to add the photo to her folder later. Somehow, this is the first picture she’s gotten of Bob, and she almost feels proud of herself for managing to snag this one. Now that she has her blackmail, Kim decides to wake Bob up.
“Bob,” Kim whispers urgently, trying to not draw their professor’s attention, “Bob.”
She frowns as she realizes that is not going to cut it, but for Bob’s sake Kim takes the drastic measures that are necessary for a decent grade in this class.
“Roberta,” Kim hisses, smiling in victory when Bob’s eyes instantly fly open.
Bob glares daggers at her, and Kim knows she’s going to get an earful later. Totally worth it. Not only does she have another photo for the books, she also has yet another hilarious story to tell their friends about.
‘I hate you,’ Bob mouths at her.
Kim makes a heart shape with her hands and blows a kiss at Bob, satisfied with her work for the day. It’s still only 8:30 a.m. too, who knows what other teasing she’ll accomplish with a full day ahead of her!
  3: Derrick
Ever since Bob jumped ship and started renting out an apartment, Kim finds herself there more often than not. She’s not sure why, she likes her dorm room just fine and she doesn’t have to deal with a roommate either, but she still seems to gravitate towards that little apartment just around the corner from campus. Maybe it’s all the good memories that have been made there in just two short months, maybe she just has really good friends.
Regardless, today is another one of those days she finds herself at the apartment, curled up on the couch watching the newest episodes of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” with Derrick. She tries not to think too hard about the fact neither of them live here and they’re the only ones in the apartment right now. Sure, the three roommates have an “open door” policy of sorts for their closest friends, but Kim still feels awkward despite Bob insisting it’s okay.
She glances from the door to her phone every few minutes, waiting for an update of some kind from Bob, who was supposed to be back five minutes ago. Kim nervously bounces her knee, trying to just forget her nerves and just watch the show with Derrick. They never get to hang out much anymore, and she does like his company.
The anxiety of waiting for Bob to come back grows to be too much for her, though, and she turns to Derrick to voice her concerns. As soon as she’s opened her mouth she realizes he’s asleep, and is a little stunned she didn’t notice sooner. He had been suspiciously quiet for the last few minutes, after all.
Briefly, she wonders what made him tired enough to fall asleep. Derrick is an incredibly hard worker, so she can only assume that has something to do with it. With a smirk she pulls out her phone’s camera to capture another picture for her collection. This one has to be a new favorite of hers, since his head is thrown back and his mouth is slightly open causing him to look cartoon-ish.
“Finally home!” Bob announces loudly as she marches into the apartment with her backpack slung over her should and a couple grocery bags in hand.
Derrick is startled awake and he glances around the living room wildly, until he sees where Kim still has her phone pointed at him with a cheeky smile on her face.
  “Really?” he asks her tiredly.
“It’s a good picture,” Kim says.
Derrick just groans, and she can’t help her laughter at his dramatic reaction.
“Love you!” she chirps, texting her new picture to Naomi.
“...Love you too,” he relents, settling back down into the couch, reminding her exactly why she’s missed him so much. She never saw herself becoming friends with him, and yet here they are. Kim wonders if Derrick ever thought the same of her, but decides she doesn’t care. All that matters now is the friendships they do have.
4, Thorgy
A couple of weeks before spring break, Bob, Thorgy, and Betty host a party at their apartment complete with snacks, karaoke, beer pong, and way too much alcohol. The guests were mostly just close friends, which Kim was relieved to learn about once she actually showed up to the party with Naomi. She hadn’t originally wanted to go but Naomi and Bob had practically begged her to, and she always has a hard time saying no to the two of them.
People had started to leave or pass out somewhere in the apartment around 3 a.m., and by 5 a.m. everything is quiet again. Kim is certain she’s the only one left awake, since Naomi is passed out on the other end of the couch from all the vodka she drank. Kim gets the feeling they’ll be here a while to wait out her hangover after she wakes up, so she gets up to go looking around to see who else is still at the apartment to sate her curiosity.
Only a little exploration reveals Betty in her bedroom with three people Kim doesn’t recognize spread across her room in various positions in various places. Then she finds Bob, Monet, and Tiana in Bob’s room sprawled out on the floor for reasons she can’t begin to understand. Kim starts to get worried, though, when Thorgy isn’t in her own room but two other people are.
Now on a brand new mission, Kim starts to look in every corner of the apartment for Thorgy. She starts with the bathrooms, which are all empty except for some girl whose passed out in Bob’s bathtub. Kim then goes looking in the kitchen, which turns up empty. She’s starting to get really frustrated when she walks through the small dining room area and spots Thorgy laying underneath the table.
Kim laughs quietly to herself, and considers waking Thorgy up and making her go lay down somewhere that’s not the floor. She’d seen how drunk everyone had gotten, however, and she decides it’s not worth it. People are grouchy when they’re hungover, and Kim doesn’t want to have to deal with that sooner than she has to. Also, Thorgy has the most intense puppy eyes when asked to do something she doesn’t want to and moving from underneath the table while transitioning from drunk to hungover will certainly be on that list.
There is one thing she can do. Without a second thought to it, Kim pulls out her phone and takes a couple of pictures of Thorgy from a few different angles. Once she’s satisfied, Kim pockets her phone again and turns around to go back to the couch, this time she stumbles into Bob.
“Oh! I thought you were asleep,” Kim whispers, still trying not to wake anyone up.
Bob shrugs, “I was in and out, but then I heard you walking around, wanted to make sure everything’s okay.”
“Yeah, everything’s fine,” Kim smiles, “I was just trying to find everyone. Thorgy is under the table, by the way.”
Bob sighs and pinches the bridge of her nose, “Of course she fucking is.”
“She’s going to hate herself in the morning.”
“Aren’t we all?” Bob chuckles, “C’mon, lets go to sleep.”
Kim follows her friend to the couch that Naomi is still passed out on. Bob sits down in the middle of it, then opens her arms invitingly, Kim sits down and cuddles up beside her. She doesn’t usually care for this type of affection, she had originally chalked up the itching desire beneath her skin for hugs to lack of sleep. Magically Bob had picked up on that, and cuddling into her friend’s side Kim is reminded of how lucky she is to have friends who care about her so much.
  +1, Kim
Naomi quickly walks up the steps leading to Bob’s apartment, anxious to get inside as quickly as she can. She had been laying in her bed eagerly waiting on a text back from Kim when Bob had called her and demanded she come over to the apartment immediately, saying something about an emergency. She had left her dorm room in a matter of minutes and practically sprinted all the way to Bob’s apartment.
Now, she pounds on the door, slightly out of breath, all sorts of awful scenarios of what could be wrong playing in her head. The door is swung open, and Bob is grinning like a kid in a candy store.
“Come in but be quiet,” Bob says, holding the door open for her.
“What?” Naomi asks with a frown, entering the apartment cautiously.
Everything appears to be normal, but she also knows how crazy the three people who live here are so she tries not to get her hopes up.
“My room,” Bob says, grabbing Naomi’s hand and pulling her there.
Oddly enough, Thorgy and Betty are standing in the doorway to Bob’s room, holding back giggles and whispering to each other conspiratorially.
“Shh!” Bob chides them, voice barely above a whisper, “Get back!”
Thorgy rolls her eyes, “She has literally been asleep for eighteen hours, there’s no way we can wake her up by talking.”
“Just move,” Bob says, and her two roommates relent.
Naomi is finally able to see through into the room, and is shocked to see Kim asleep in Bob’s bed, completely dead to the world. This is so unlike her that Naomi is speechless, Kim is so careful with how she appears to the people around her and for her to just be asleep in a friend’s bed for eighteen hours? Naomi doesn’t know how to react.
“She showed up yesterday morning,” Bob starts quietly, “I think she overdid it on the studying for a test she had.”
Naomi nods, trying to process it all, “So she… fell asleep?”
“Yeah, she said it had been thirty hours since she slept or something ridiculous like that. I told her she could sleep here as long as she wanted and then this happened.”
Naomi chuckles a bit, and pulls her phone out of her pocket with an evil grin on her face, and she quickly snaps a few pictures, and Bob crosses her arms over her chest disapprovingly.
“What? It’s revenge,” Naomi frowns at Bob.
Bob rolls her eyes, “Oh please, you think I haven’t already gotten twenty pictures of her?”
“She’s going to be so mad,” Naomi says, already looking forward to the banter she’ll have with her best friend about finally getting some blackmail of her own.
“Oh, yeah, for sure,” Bob agrees, “She sure does look lonely, though.”
Naomi shares a look with her that confirms they’re both thinking the same thing. The two carefully crawl into the bed with Kim, cuddling up against her and each other in a classic cuddle pile. Naomi presses her face into Kim’s shoulder, relishing her new friendships. She’s so glad she chose to go to college.

Summary: Naomi has finished her first year of college, and now she's about to move away for the summer. However, she's still haunted by everything left unsaid between her and her best friend, Kim Chi.
After months of dealing with the cold, rain, snow, and grumpy professors, finally it was summer. Naomi’s last final was just the day before, and now she’s packing up her dorm room and facing the reality that she has to leave. Her first year of college is over. Now what is she supposed to do? Pretend that she’s ok with leaving, even if it’s only for a few months? Pretend that she hasn’t made the most incredible friends ever? Pretend that she isn’t fundamentally changed as a human being?
She knows what she’s supposed to do, going to do even, but she isn’t sure that’s what she wants to do. Her parents are going to show up in two days and take all her stuff back to their house while she works a shitty retail job for the summer, has to share a room with two other people, and daydreams about her new friends. Well, one new friend in particular, but she really tries to not look too much into that.
Naomi is going to miss everyone every single day, and she’s going to be annoying as she possibly can in their group chats just to make sure they don’t forget about her. She’s going to call them at 1 am and complain about how bored she is back in her hometown just so she can listen to Bob’s boisterous laughter and Kim’s adorable teasing. God is she going to miss them.
Never in a million years would she have expected herself to find best friends in people like them, and yet here she is. Leaving her hometown had been hard, but those two in particular had made it so much easier. Everything about her new friendships have been easy. No stress or fuss, like she was always meant to find this group of people that makes her feel so free.
Naomi roughly wipes at her eyes as tears start falling, and forcefully reminds herself to keep packing and stop reminiscing. It’s not like she’ll be gone forever, and it’s not like summer is more than three months long. Still, a very sensitive part of her is hurt by her imminent move out.
She shoves yet another binder into the cardboard box labeled ‘school supplies.’ This sucks, plain and simple.
Then, like a mystic god answering all her prayers, her phone rings. One glance at  her phone screen confirms it’s her favorite person on this whole damn campus and it’s like she can’t answer the call fast enough.
“Kim?” Naomi says into the phone, hoping that her best friend has learned telepathy and is calling to make her feel less shitty.
“Hey, are you in your room?” Kim quickly asks.
“Yeah, I am. What’s up baby, is everything okay?” Naomi responds, suddenly feeling a little worried for her friend who rarely sounds this urgent.
“Great! Let’s go get dinner together tonight,” Kim says, calming all of Naomi's worries instantly.
Naomi chuckles into her phone, “We get dinner together every night.”
“Well, I know that. I mean we should go out tonight! I don’t want to eat at the dining hall when we can go somewhere actually good,” Kim explains with a huff.
“Mhmm, so… Thai it is then?” Naomi grins, already thinking of the exact outfit she wants to wear to go to their favorite restaurant near campus.
Kim laughs, sounding like an angel as she does, “You read my mind. See you in three hours?”
Naomi glances at the clock, and is surprised that it’s already 4. It feels like she’s barely done anything today, “That’s good. Can’t wait, baby.”
They hang up and Naomi is left feeling guilty about taking time away from packing. She has so much stuff left to get through, and it barely took her roommate two days to pack up and move out, the lucky bitch. Still… she’s excited to get one last night out on the town with her best friend of this whole year. She doesn’t know where she’d be without Kim and she doesn’t even want to consider the possibilities.
All that matters right now is putting on a cute ass outfit and going out to dinner with her bestie. That’s it. Fuck the sadness and anxiety pulsing through her veins, she’s going to have a good time if it kills her. Naomi knows this is one of her last opportunities to have a night out like this with Kim, so she won’t waste it.
She takes her time getting ready, making sure every detail of her clothes, makeup, hair, and jewelry are perfect to match what Kim will surely show up in. It’s a game between them, one Naomi knows she’s going to miss, especially considering that was one of the very first things she and Kim ever bonded over. Now they’ll just have to settle for pictures over Instagram DMs or Snapchats.
Naomi tries to ignore the ache in her chest everytime she thinks about moving out. Moving out of the dorms and back to her hometown means moving away from Kim, her best friend and partner in sass. Naomi doesn’t know what she’s going to do without her.
  ~*~
The two are seated in the crowded, fancy restaurant by 6:30 and Naomi is seconds away from an emotional breakdown. Surprisingly enough, Kim seems to as well. Kim isn’t exactly known for being the most emotionally vulnerable person on earth. There are several times over the course of the last two semesters that Naomi can think of where Kim chose to laugh off a problem instead of actually deal with it.
There’s an awkward silence between them that Naomi is hesitant to break, so she’s grateful when Kim is the one to do it.
Kim smirks as she picks up her knife and puts it in front of Naomi as if it’s a microphone, “Naomi Smalls, how was your first year at college?”
Naomi laughs at Kim’s antics, always entertained by her best friend.
“It’s not over yet,” Naomi reminds her, gently pushing the knife away. With only two days left she’s realizing just how pathetic that sounds, “But...it was good. It was really good. Made new friends, changed my major three different times, shrunk, like, three sweaters…Normal college stuff I’m glad I did.”
Kim smiles so warmly at her response that Naomi feels like the only woman on the planet who matters. Naomi loves her best friend, she really does. Platonically, of course, since anything else would be too complicated and ruin everything. This is just platonic friendship love…right?
“How about you?” Naomi asks, trying to get the attention off herself, “What’s been your least favorite part of your sophomore year?”
“You,” Kim says, playful as ever.
Naomi fakes a pout, knowing that was practically an admission of true love from Kim, “Okay well what was your, like, favorite part then?”
Kim glances down at her hands nervously, just for a split second, and if Naomi didn’t know better she’d say her best friend is blushing.
  “You.”
“Awww!” Naomi preens, “You do love me!”
“Like I love the spider who lives in the corner of my bedroom.”
Naomi throws her head back with laughter, “Of course, because no matter how hard you try to get rid of me? I’ll always be here.”
Kim smirks mischievously, “And here I thought I was the barnacle of this relationship.”
“With how much time we spend, like, laying in bed on Instagram, I think we’re both barnacles,” Naomi snorts, leaning across the table as she does just to be a little closer to Kim.
  “...Barnacle besties?”
  “We should make t-shirts.”
“And sell them to every pair of lazy best friends on the planet,” Kim adds, holding back laughter.
Naomi loves this so much, and she never wants it to stop even for a minute, but it will. This is going to stop. The silly back and forths between them, the lighthearted bickering, constantly poking fun at each other from a place of love…It will all be over. Naomi feels sick at the thought. Nothing ever stays the same, she knows that, she just wishes this could.
Some of these feelings must show on her face, because Kim then looks a little worried and asks, “Hey, what’s wrong?”
Just as Naomi is about to answer, the waiter comes by and takes their orders, not looking too surprised by the massive list of food that the two order. Naomi knows they’re going to wind up putting most of it in to-go boxes, but that’s half the fun for the two of them. The waiter is quick to leave, and Naomi finds herself anxious when he does, there’s no way Kim is going to let her question go unanswered and Naomi really, really doesn’t want to.
“You better tell me right now or I’m not sharing the chicken satay with you,” Kim threatens as soon as the waiter has left.
Naomi leans back in her chair and wraps her arms around herself, suddenly uncomfortable, “It’s nothing.”
Kim raises a perfectly sculpted eyebrow.
  “I guess I’m just…sad,” Naomi sighs.
  “Sad?”
“Well, yeah babes, the semester is over and I’m moving back into my parents’ house in two days,” Naomi says, trying to play it off like the most obvious thing in the world.
Kim frowns, “Oh, yeah. I almost forgot about that.”
“Wish I could do that, it’s all I’ve been able to think about,” Naomi murmurs.
“I thought you would be excited to move back in with your mom? I know you’ve missed her a lot, you talk about her everyday and call her all the time,” Kim points out, eyes shining with concern and it makes Naomi feel really bad.
“Of course I am!” Naomi says a bit too quickly, trying to hide her guilt, “But now I’m really going to miss you, too…And, like, Bob, and Thorgy, and everyone.”
“I’m not going to miss you, so don’t worry about that,” Kim says with her classic deadpan followed by a cheeky smile.
Usually these jokes are the kinds that Naomi can laugh along with and appreciate, it’s just poking fun anyways, but right now it actually hurts, and Naomi finds herself surprised by that. She wishes that Kim wouldn’t try so hard to deflect from her emotions with humor all the time.
“Oh,” Naomi whispers, trying not to seem too affected by the comment. It’s Kim’s typical kind of joke, so why doesn’t it feel like one?
Kim narrows her eyes skeptically, “Okay something’s not right here.”
  “What do you mean?”
“You’re never like this. We’ve spent hours every day together for months now and you only get like this when something is wrong,” Kim explains, clearly starting to get upset by Naomi’s dishonesty.
Naomi grimaces, “I’m fine, I promise.”
It’s obvious that Kim doesn’t want to accept that, but before she can try again the waiter returns with their food. He spends what feels like an entire five minutes just offloading plates of food onto their table, and Naomi is so glad to have such an obvious topic change show up. She was really starting to get uncomfortable with Kim’s pestering and all of her mixed feelings, so the timing on the waiter’s end is simply perfect.
The rest of their meal is spent talking about the food and how many fond memories they have of the restaurant from over the last several months, and the nostalgia makes Naomi sad all over again. She wishes that it wasn’t just the two of them right now (Bob would make things less awkward for sure) but she’s also very grateful to get one last night of just Kim. Maybe her best friend will still want to cuddle in bed after dinner and watch shitty reality TV.
Just as Naomi had originally predicted, they wind up with four boxes full to the brim of leftovers by the time their dinner is over. Things almost feel normal between them, like things haven’t changed at all since they first became friends back in September. Now it’s May and nothing is the same, in so many ways it’s better—and in so many ways, it’s worse.
When they exit the restaurant after finally paying the hefty bill, it’s absolutely pouring and Naomi’s stomach fills with dread. She unconsciously grips the plastic bag with their leftovers tighter, the street lamps lining the parking lot don’t help as much as she wishes they did.
  “Oh no,” Kim groans.
“This is what hell looks like,” Naomi adds, mourning her soon to be ruined hair and makeup.
Kim looks at Naomi with a mischievous grin, “Race you to the car?”
  Naomi’s heart flutters, “Obviously.”
Dressed to the nines in massive heels, perfect hair, and beautiful dresses, the two best friends practically sprint from the restaurant’s door out to the parking lot. Naomi laughs like a maniac as she does, trying to avoid the deep puddles, though the darkness makes it really hard. She can hear Kim laughing too, and Naomi feels free.
…That is until she hears Kim shriek and fall on the pavement. She freezes and immediately turns to look for her. Kim is practically face first on the hard asphalt, and Naomi is so happy she’s the one carrying their leftovers.
“Oh my god!” Naomi shouts over the pouring rain, trying and failing to hold back laughter at Kim’s very unamused expression.
“Ugh, I think I’m bleeding,” Kim says, sitting on her knees to inspect her palms, “It’s so dark out here I can’t tell.”
“Well don’t just sit there,” Naomi frowns, bending down beside Kim and resting a comforting hand on her shoulder, “Let's get to your car so we can go home.”
“Yeah,” Kim agrees softly, her eyes still glued to her hands.
“C’mon, baby,” Naomi says, grabbing Kim’s upper arm and attempting to help her up.
Kim stands up on wobbly knees, and both girls immediately notice that her knees have been badly scraped with blood running down her shins. Kim is clearly in pain and guilt hits Naomi like a truck.
“Kimberly!” Naomi shouts, completely shocked, “Why didn’t you say anything?!”
Kim rolls her eyes, “I didn’t know!”
“We have to hurry and get you cleaned up,” Naomi insists, taking Kim’s hand and guiding her in the direction of the car, “I can drive.”
“No, I can drive, really,” Kim says, shaking her head.
  “But-”
“It’s not that bad, I promise.”
Naomi relents, only because she doesn’t want to risk angering her best friend. It is Kim’s car after all, and Kim practically worships the thing. Naomi settles for being near her and helping in other ways, like carrying the food and opening the door for her. Her concern for Kim grows by the second, not only is her best friend bleeding and soaked with rain, but her hair is all over the place and her makeup is running down her face and into her eyes.
Naomi makes sure they waste not time getting into Kim’s car, and as soon as they’re buckled up and pulling out of the parking lot, Naomi notices how badly Kim is shaking. Against her better judgment, Naomi reaches over and rests her hand on her best friend’s thigh. Kim inhales sharply, but relaxes after a moment.
Naomi’s heart is beating like a stampede of wild animals and it’s a miracle that Kim hasn’t said anything about it. Still, she refuses to move her hand since Kim is freezing from the rain. She knows that she won’t be satisfied until they’re both cleaned up and cuddled up in bed, preferably with an anime playing.
“Are you okay…?” Kim asks, obviously concerned when she realizes Naomi intends for them to get all the way back to campus like this.
“Just worried about you,” Naomi says, and it’s a truth she feels so attached to. Who's supposed to be there for Kim for the next three months when this undoubtedly happens again? How can she possibly leave her best friend here alone?
Kim presses her lips together like she’s trying to hold back a smile, “Well…thanks. I’ll be okay though.”
“I know that,” Naomi says, “But that doesn’t make me stop, like, worrying. I want to help you and support you.”
Kim is quiet for a long moment, “I want to do the same for you. I’m…I’m really going to miss you.”
Those words are everything that Naomi has needed to hear for so long.
Her heart explodes in her chest and her fingers grip the soft skin of Kim’s thigh as she processes her friend’s words. She’s wanted that admission so, so badly for so long she’s not sure what to do with herself now that she has it. It hits her that this is probably hard for Kim, too. They’re losing each other for genuine months and Naomi feels like she’s being sentenced to death, knowing that Kim may feel even a fraction of what she does is validating.
“Really?” Naomi breathes out, starting to get misty eyed.
“Of course,” Kim says with a deep conviction in her voice that makes Naomi feel like the most important girl in the world, “I don’t know what I’m going to do with a whole summer without you.”
“Me neither,” Naomi says, smiling widely, “Will you come visit me?”
“We can FaceTime, there’s no way I’m spending the gas money to visit your gay ass,” Kim jokes as she turns the corner into the parking garage.
Naomi giggles, “Aww, you’re totally going to visit me.”
“Yeah, I am,” Kim admits, pulling into the first available spot she sees.
Both girls try to pretend it's not incredibly awkward when Naomi takes her hand off of Kim’s thigh, despite the fact they’re both blushing and refusing to look the other in the eyes. Naomi gets out of the car first and circles around to the driver’s side so she can help Kim out, worried about her still-bleeding hands and knees. Kim climbs out of her car, then stands perfectly still so Naomi can see how bad her injuries are now. She knows that it’s a blessing to be in the parking deck, safe from the rain and in a well lit place even for a moment. The eventual trek back to the dorms is going to suck, but at least they’ll make it together.
“You’re still bleeding pretty bad,” Naomi says, biting her lip nervously.
Kim huffs, “I’ll live. And anyways, it’s not the first time I’ve tripped and it won’t be the last.”
“Kimberly…” Naomi groans, pinching the bridge of her nose exasperatedly.
“Oh please,” Kim retorts, “Can we just get back to the dorms now? I’m starting to get cold…”
“Cold in May, I can’t believe it,” Naomi murmurs, “Alright, yeah let’s go.”
She instinctively takes Kim’s hand and they walk carefully but quickly back to Kim’s dorm room. Thankfully they don’t run into any of their classmates or peers, everyone clearly staying inside due to the rain, making Naomi wish they had bothered to check the weather for the night before going out dressed like that and without umbrellas.
The walk back to the dorms would’ve been peaceful if Naomi hadn’t been so urgent to get Kim back inside. Their college’s campus is fairly hilly, it’s a lot of uphill climbs and concrete stairs to get from point A to point B, which makes Naomi nervous about them having to deal with yet another mishap, especially since they’re both still wearing heels and the mud and puddles are getting worse by the minute.
As they start to approach the building, Kim’s grip on Naomi’s hand loosens, causing Naomi’s heart to practically drop into her stomach.
“We’re almost there,” Naomi says, trying to comfort her friend.
Kim just nods. There’s a distant look in her eyes, clearly lost in thought. Naomi wants to say something, but against her better judgment she doesn’t. Just as they’re about to enter the building, with Naomi already pulling out her key card, Kim stops in her tracks. Naomi turns to look at her, frowning and a little scared for her best friend.
“Kim…? You okay?” Naomi asks, turning around to look at her.
Kim looks angelic, standing there with rain pouring down her face and the soft glow of the street lamps lighting every feature perfectly. Her breath is caught in her throat watching her, even with bloody knees and ruined makeup, Kim is the most gorgeous woman on the planet.
“No,” Kim says, her voice certain and solid.
Naomi bites her bottom lip anxiously, “You’ll feel better once we’re inside-”
“Naomi. That’s…That’s not the problem,” Kim says, rubbing her shoulder and staring down at her now slightly muddied shoes.
  “Then what is?”
“I don’t know!” Kim finally shouts, like the dam of emotion has finally broke, “You’ve been acting strange all night and this is hard enough as it is and I don’t want our last night together to suck!”
  “Kim-”
“You’re one of my only friends, Naomi! I’m weird and quiet and I look strange and sound strange so not many people wanna put up with me, but you-” Kim stops suddenly, scrunching up her face like she’s trying not to cry, “You don’t judge me like that. You never have. Even that first day at the library. And I’m losing you and I just want us to have one good night, one last night…”
“Kim…” Naomi says softly, walking up to her best friend and taking both of her hands in her own, “You aren’t losing me, not completely. We’re gonna get through this, I promise.”
Kim’s head drops, “Naomi, I- I have something I need to tell you. I can’t keep pretending, not anymore.”
Naomi gulps, terrified of what Kim might be about to say though simultaneously enraptured by her, “You- you do?”
“Naomi I…I like you, a lot,” Kim murmurs, definitely crying now. Her shoulders are shaking, and not just from the cold.
“Well, we are friends, I had kinda hoped you did,” Naomi jokes, hoping to lighten the situation at least a little.
  “Not…not like that.”
  Oh.
  Oh.
Naomi’s heart is pounding rapidly, and she finds herself cupping her hands around Kim’s face, “R-Really?”
Kim breaks into a fresh bout of crying, “I’m so sorry, I just couldn’t hide it from you anymore, not with you leaving-”
Naomi kisses her. It’s all she could ever consider doing and it’s all that could ever feel right. Her lips are as soft and sweet as she had imagined after so many hours spent doing makeup together, and Kim melts into her arms like cotton candy. The rain is still pouring down on them, but Naomi feels like it’s the most beautiful, sunny day that has ever existed.
When they break apart, lips barely an inch from each other and still sharing breath, Naomi laughs, free and real, and soon Kim is laughing along with her. And everything feels like it’s going to be okay.
“Okay, now we can go inside,” Kim giggles softly.
Naomi can’t wait to get some privacy and out of the rain.
They take the elevator up to the very top floor where Kim’s dorm room is, holding hands the whole time. The two stumble out of the elevator, grinning like idiots as they walk down the hall to Kim’s room.
Kim fumbles with her keys for just a second as she tries to get her door unlocked, but as soon as it is, Naomi is pushing her into the room, grabbing her friend’s face as sweetly as she can while she kisses Kim all over again. Kim whimpers a little and Naomi pushes Kim against the nearest wall, just barely remembering to kick the door shut.
Their lips move together so perfectly. Naomi has hungered for this so long, she’s not sure she’ll ever be able to let Kim out of her sight. Kim wraps her arms around Naomi’s back and Naomi shivers with delight. Both are still rain-soaked, looking like complete messes, yet it doesn’t matter. All that matters is Kim in her arms, their lips pressed together, tangled up in each other.
“You’re so beautiful, baby,” Naomi whispers against Kim’s lips, lightly scraping her teeth against Kim’s lips.
“If I’m beautiful you’re stunning,” Kim shivers.
Naomi’s heart skips a beat, “Everyone at this stupid collge is gonna be so jealous of us. Two gorgeous women like us together? For no one else to touch? God…”
Kim kisses Naomi again, deep and urgent. Naomi doesn’t think she could ever get enough of this perfect woman. Naomi grabs Kim’s hand then starts to press soft kisses to it, leaving the faintest marks of lipstick as she does. She turns Kim’s hand over to kiss her palm too when she’s abruptly reminded of why they were so eager to get back to the dorms in the first place. Kim’s palms are still scraped and slightly bleeding, and Naomi hates it.
“Baby, you’re still bleeding,” Naomi points out, “Let me clean you up.”
“I guess as long as you're the one doing it…” Kim says, smirking as she pulls away from Naomi just a little.
Naomi laughs, taking Kim’s hand and dragging her over to her bed. She gently pushes Kim down onto it, wraps her arms around Kim’s shoulders, then leans forward to whisper into her ear, “It’s okay, baby, I’ve got you.”
“I wouldn’t want anyone else,” Kim murmurs, turning her head slightly to press an open mouthed kiss to Naomi’s jaw.
Naomi shivers pleasantly at the motion, a solid reminder how entwined they are in each other now. Reluctantly, she pulls back from her friend (girlfriend? lover?) to go find a first aid kit or at least some soap and water. It’s easy to locate what she’s looking for, Kim is precise with everything she does and that includes organization. It’s sitting on the top shelf of the closet, which she can reach easily thanks to her fantastic genetics.
She’s quick in opening it to see if there’s anything useful, and finds there’s gauze, alcohol pads, bandaids, wound ointment…practically everything she needs. Smiling victoriously, Naomi goes to set the kit on the bed beside Kim, as she’s getting ready to go get a soapy, wet washcloth too, Kim reaches out and takes Naomi’s hand in her own.
“I- Thanks,” Kim says when Naomi gives an inquisitive look.
“Don’t mention it,” Naomi smiles, squeezing Kim’s hand once before going to get that washcloth.
Thinking twice about how soaked they are from the rain, Naomi grabs a couple of bath towels too. She starts scrunching the water out of her hair as she walks back over to Kim, upset with all the time wasted straightening it the day before.
When she returns, Kim is inspecting her hands with a deep pout, even picking at where the skin has been lifted.
“Does it hurt too bad?” Naomi asks sympathetically, handing Kim a towel.
Kim tilts her head thoughtfully as she accepts it, “No more than it usually does when I fall.”
“You are such a clutz,” Naomi giggles softly, kneeling down on the floor in front of Kim, “An adorable, beautiful clutz from heaven.”
Kim blushes furiously, “Does that make you the demon who took me to the dark side?”
“Yes,” Naomi says proudly, almost purring, “I’m going to patch you up and then finish your initiation.”
“I wonder what that could be,” Kim says sarcastically as Naomi takes the warm, wet cloth and begins to wipe away the worst of the blood and gravel.
The two are quiet, the only sounds being their heavy breath and light chuckles as Naomi gingerly cleans up Kim’s knees. She’s as tender as she can be, and is meticulous in cleaning up every spot of blood, dried or not. By the time she’s done she can tell that the bleeding has mostly stopped. Naomi still takes out an alcohol pad to thoroughly clean the scrapes.
Naomi reaches into the kit to grab bandaids to finish off her handiwork, then starts giggling uncontrollably at the ‘Hello Kitty’ bandaids, “Kim, oh my God.”
“Why would I get something so boring when those are so cute?” Kim says, attempting to defend herself.
“Awwww, it’s okay Kimberly,” Naomi teases, “I think it’s adorable.”
“You find everything adorable,” Kim grins.
  “Everything about you,” Naomi counters.
She then peels the paper off the bandaids and carefully sticks two to each knee, wanting to make sure all of the scrapes are perfectly covered. Naomi looks up at Kim who has a look in her eyes that she hasn’t seen before.
  “What?” Naomi prompts.
“You…look so pretty like that,” Kim admits shyly.
Naomi’s mind is racing with all the things she could do and say right now to make Kim even more flustered and pliable, “Mmmm, so you like me down here? Kneeling between your legs?”
  Kim bites her lip, “Y-Yeah, I guess…”
“I’ve got to take care of your hands before I can take care of all that, you know,” Naomi says, taking pleasure in testing Kim’s patience.
“You don’t have to,” her best friend insists.
“Mmm, but I will. I want you to be begging for me, doll,” Naomi whispers hotly, slowly standing up and leaning forward, causing Kim to fall back against the bed a little, “I’ll be taking care of you in more ways than one.”
“Hurry up then,” Kim whines impatiently, “I’ve waited so long already…”
“I know, baby, just a little longer,” Naomi says quietly.
She purposefully puts her left knee up on the bed, right between Kim’s slightly parted thighs. Kim inhales deeply, shakily even, at the movement. Naomi takes Kim’s left hand first and starts the process all over again, and even though her hands have stopped bleeding at this point, Naomi still puts a Hello Kitty bandaid over the worst of the scratches.
Kim starts wiggling, her patience clearly almost running out, so Naomi speeds up the process with Kim’s right hand. Somehow the scratches aren’t anywhere near bad enough to justify another band aid.
Naomi drops Kim’s hand, but immediately bends forward so that her nose is almost right against Kim’s, “There, now I’m done.”
  “Finally,” Kim breathes out.
  “So impatient…” Naomi chides her.
  “You’re the one acting all…all…”
  “All what, Kimmy?”
“Sexy,” Kim says, voice full of frustration.
Naomi chuckles, then captures Kim in yet another hot and heavy kiss, “It’s hard not to when you’re sitting here like this.”
Kim moans when Naomi reaches a hand up to her chest and lightly gropes her breast, “Naomi…”
“That good?” Naomi asks nervously, wanting to be as gentle as possible with her inexperienced friend.
“Yes,” Kim hisses, unconsciously leaning into Naomi’s touch.
Naomi reaches around Kim’s back and unzips her wet, classic lilac dress, then roughly pulls it up and over Kim’s head, revealing Kim in nothing but her bra and panties. She tosses the dress aside then pushes Kim flat against the bed, kissing her deep and hard rough, desperate to make Kim know how loved and how attractive she is.
Kim whimpers breathlessly when Naomi reaches into her bra and starts pinching and rolling her nipples as gently as she can manage. Naomi’s other hand starts trailing down Kim’s torso, soft and sensual, until she reaches the waistband of Kim’s white panties, which are now basically translucent from the rain. Gently, Naomi pulls them down just enough to reveal Kim’s soaking pussy.
“Oh, Kim,” Naomi moans into her friend’s mouth when she realizes just how madly Kim wants this, “So good, baby…”
With one hand massaging Kim’s full, round breasts, she uses the other to slowly rub up and down Kim’s wet lips, enjoying every squirm, whimper, and moan immensely. She loves pleasuring this woman almost as much as she loves her.
  “N-Naomi-” Kim chokes out.
Naomi gently rubs her thumb over Kim’s clit while she uses a finger to tease her quivering hole. She pulls away from Kim’s mouth to instead kiss and lick her chest and cleavage, freeing up her hand that was previously playing with Kim’s tits to use for other things. Naomi teasingly scratches her nails up and down Kim’s ribcage, and Kim downright shudders from it. She hooks one finger into Kim’s sopping pussy, slowly but purposefully trying to find the one spot she knows will drive her crazy.
  “N-Naomi I-”
“What is it, doll? Hm?” Naomi teases her, slowly adding another finger as she does
“I’m- I think-” Kim moans as Naomi speeds up the tiny circles she’s making on her clit.
“Say it, Kim,” Naomi demands, slightly speeding up the fingers she’s filling Kim with.
“Think I’m- gonna come-” Kim sobs, throwing her head back when Naomi leans up to kiss and nip at the juncture of her neck and collarbone.
“Yeah you are,” Naomi moans, “Gonna come all over my fingers like a good girl.”
Kim moans, and Naomi suddenly stops rubbing Kim’s clit and just presses down on it, which seems to be Kim’s undoing. Kim barely muffles her moan with her hand as she comes all over Naomi’s fingers, and Naomi feels so fucking proud of herself for turning her best friend into such a soft, whimpering mess.
Naomi fingers Kim through her orgasm and only stops when Kim weakly asks her to, she pulls her fingers out of Kim and tries to not get distracted by how obscene it is. Naomi finds the washcloth from earlier and uses that to wipe off her fingers. She looks over at Kim, who is laying boneless against her bed.
Naomi snuggles up to her and kisses Kim’s cheek softly, “Was that good?”
“So good…” Kim sighs, pressing into Naomi happily.
“Love you,” Naomi says, hugging Kim and breathing in her intoxicating scent.
“Love you, too,” Kim confides, “But wait- What about you?”
“Shhh,” Naomi interrupts, “We’ll have time for that later.”
Kim looks at Naomi skeptically, “...Later?”
Naomi chuckles, “We are going to take as much advantage of these last couple days as we can.”
Kim blinks, seemingly surprised, “Oh… good.”
  “Yeah?”
Kim kisses Naomi again, this one soft and nearly chaste, “I can’t wait.”
Naomi feels satisfaction run through her veins deeply and intensely. This is the woman she loves, and she can’t wait to show that to her over and over and over again… Until it’s the only truth that both of them are certain of. They’re going to be okay, especially now that they have this.
Naomi knows nothing could ever top this.

Dancing in the Kitchen (Group Fic) - Candy Cane
A/N: heres another thats not really my usual group of people to write! i love writing all of them tho the vibes are Immaculate. thank u @bogozbinted for beta'ing and cheerleading and everything i love u so much and u mean so so much to me!!!! <33 i hope everyone enjoys my potluck contribution :33 Summary: As the semester comes to a close, Bob decides she wants to hold a potluck and asks her four closest friends to participate. Kim takes the time to reflect on her friendships.
Three weeks before finals start, Kim’s new group of friends decides it’s very necessary to have one last “family dinner” to celebrate not only the end of the school year, but this new friendship they’ve all found in each other too. Kim recognizes it as the soft, special thing that it really is and is immensely grateful to be included in the small but infectious group that they have created for themselves.
When she met up with Bob in the library to study for English that very first time back in September, she never would’ve guessed it would turn into what it did. She is so glad that it did.  Her freshman year at college was… interesting for lack of a better word. The people that she did know and consider to be friends mostly referred to her as reclusive, even a shut-in on some occasions, so she feels she’s made massive progress from her freshman to sophomore years. She’s definitely proud of herself.
Kim knows that has made friends forever here, she knows that in her heart. All of them are unique from each other and she genuinely believes that’s why the five of them get along so well. Just similar enough to get along and just different enough to keep things interesting, it’s a perfect balance that this small group has achieved.
Bob is not only funny and extroverted, she’s also the “group mom” for lack of better phrasing. She organizes everything they do and always carries a million things in her handbags to take care of them all. As much as Bob likes to tease them and joke around about the little things, it’s clear she also takes pleasure in making sure everyone is safe and happy, which is something Kim really appreciates about Bob. Despite only having known each other for a short amount of time, Kim doesn’t know where she’d be now without her.
Monet, on the other hand, is without a doubt the group’s wild child. She’s extroverted like Bob is, but always seems to find herself in one crazy situation or another, always hanging out with large and loud crowds of people. Kim sometimes has a hard time remembering all of the names of said people, but it doesn’t matter as long as Monet is having a good time. Kim knows how special freshman year is and she’s glad that Monet is at least taking advantage of it.
Tiana is the one person Kim has known for the longest, and even the reason Tiana is here at all. They were high school friends, and when Kim went off to college Tiana had vowed to follow her. Kim had laughed it off, thinking she was just being dramatic, but true to her word Tiana had FaceTimed Kim screaming and crying when she had been accepted into the same college a year later. Although she’s a freshman like Monet and Naomi, Tiana acts like she’s the most well known and well liked person on the whole campus.
And then there’s Naomi… Kim had it off with her like they had been friends since elementary school, like they were destined to be close to each other all along. Even though Naomi is quite personable and friendly, she’s much like Kim in that she’d rather lay in bed and chat while watching TV instead of going out to some random frat party. The few parties they had been to were hilariously bad, inspiring the two to spend more time just doing whatever they felt like instead of trying to fit in with other students.
Naomi understands Kim in a way she thought no one ever could or would ever try to, and she knows she’s lucky, which is why she refuses to take Naomi and her friendship for granted. Sure, they both enjoy making jokes at the other’s expense, but it works for them somehow and Kim wouldn’t want whatever it is they have any other way. She loves Naomi, more than she maybe should, and she never wants to lose her.
In short, Kim thinks this crazy group of people is very special, and she is in awe of them every day, though she would never say that to their faces, it would give them way too much ammo. With how much they all like reading each other Kim has a reputation to uphold as the sneakiest one in the group as far as jokes go. It’d be a shame for all of that to go to waste after almost two whole semesters of cementing her place.
“You’re thinking hard,” Naomi says, startling Kim out of her thoughts.
Kim shrugs, a sneaky smile on her lips, “Yeah, but you wouldn’t have much experience with that so I’m surprised you picked that up.”
“Oh my God,” Naomi giggles rolling her eyes, “You are so mean to me.”
“You’ll live,” Kim says, patting her best friend on the shoulder comfortingly.
Considering they really haven’t known each other for very long, Kim doesn’t know what she would be able to do without Naomi, truly. Currently, the two best friends are walking to Bob’s off-campus apartment that she got back in December. Bob had decided ot move there after the fire alarm in the dorm building she was living in had gone off three too many times at 2 in the fucking morning. She was understandably fed up with the conditions and moved out at her first opportunity. Luckily, Kim and Naomi hadn’t experienced that problem yet, but Monet and Tiana complain often about it, upset that they aren’t allowed to move off campus since they’re freshman.
Kim is just glad Bob moving to her own place strengthened the group’s friendship instead of weakening it, admittedly that was something she had been worried about but had refused to bring up at the time. She’s always preferred things just happen how they’re going to happen instead of trying to force everything all the time, unlike some other people that she knows.
Still, Kim is glad to have the friendships she does have. She’s never one to take those things for granted. Until she met Tiana, her junior of high school, friends were hard for her to make and manage. Tiana changed that in a way, even inspiring a confidence in Kim she had never felt before, which is one of several reasons she’s thrilled about tonight. Hanging out with Tiana is always fun, especially with these group dynamics Kim got so used to so quickly.
Tonight is also very special because they’re doing something Kim has wanted to for a few months now, a potluck. It’s a chance for her to show off her legendary cooking skills and judge everyone else’s. A win-win for her and a win-lose for everyone else, obviously. The late spring sun shining down on them is a promise for a good night and a fun time to be had by all of them.
She’s carrying the dish she had spent all afternoon painstakingly preparing in her favorite travel case, while Naomi is swinging her tote bag confidently, and Kim kind of wants to laugh at how accurate it is to their personalities. She isn’t sure where or how Naomi made her dish, considering Kim was in the only kitchen in the whole dorm building all afternoon and hadn’t seen Naomi until they agreed upon time to meet up and get ready together.
Kim is curious about what Naomi decided to bring to their end of the year potluck, and is excited to see everyone else’s contributions too, though she’s certain hers will be the best. There’s a reason everyone always asks her for restaurant recommendations and recipes, and she takes pride in her skills and knowledge, even if they may be a bit unconventional at times.
The walk to Bob’s apartment is always short, and when Naomi and her climb the stairs and knock on the door, Tiana is the one to throw it open with all the energy and happiness Kim expects from the girl.
“Yes! You’re here!” Tiana squeals, stepping back so her and Naomi can enter Bob’s apartment.
It was definitely a steal, although Bob does have to share with two other people to be able to afford it. Kim thinks that it’s worth it though, the apartment is fairly large and everyone living in it gets their own bathroom, even if they’re all tiny it’s better than sharing one bathroom between three people.
“Hi,” Naomi greets Tiana warmly, pulling the shorter girl in for a hug.
Kim watches with an amused grin, it will never cease to amaze her how short everyone looks when compared to Naomi. She quickly stops smiling when she realizes that she’s Tiana’s next victim, flinching when Tiana wraps her arms around Kim tightly and squeezes.
“Do you have to do that every time?” Kim asks, shrinking in on herself, secretly enjoying the casual affection from her close friend.
“As long as it always makes you uncomfortable,” Tiana grins widely, though she lets go.
Bob pokes her head from around the corner where the small kitchen is located, “Tia! Stop torturing Kimberly!”
“Awww, but it’s so fun,” Tiana whines, bouncing into the kitchen after Bob.
Naomi turns to Kim to share a soft smile that makes Kim’s heart flutter in ways she would rather ignore. They’re here tonight to have a good time with their closest friends, that’s it. At least that’s what Kim is going to keep telling herself.
“Where’s Monet?” Naomi calls out, taking Kim’s bag from her in order to set their dishes down on the dining room table.
Kim trails after Naomi, unsure of what else to do and just as curious as to Monet’s whereabouts. Normally, Monet is always at Bob’s apartment, unless she’s at classes or a party, so it’s strange she’s not here already. She glances around for Tiana too, but she seems to have disappeared somewhere else in the apartment. Kim finds it strange, while it’s not small it’s not big either so there’s not a lot of places to disappear to. Kim decides to chalk it up to classic Tiana behavior.
“She said she had to make a stop on her way over,” Bob says from where she’s standing in front of the stove, stirring something that smells genuinely delicious.
Ever the nosey guest, Kim walks over to Bob and peeks her head over Bob’s shoulder, curious to see what her friend is making.
“Oooh, that looks good!” She says, knowing that this annoys the shit out of Bob.
“Kim! No! It’s a surprise!” Bob shrieks, batting Kim back with her hands.
Kim giggles, “You probably would’ve been able to achieve that if you hadn’t waited until the last minute to cook.”
“Wowww, Kim,” Bob drawls sarcastically, hugging her from behind to easily maneuver her away from the stove, “Absolutely no slack for the host, huh?”
“Since you’re the host you should be the most prepared!” Kim insists through bouts of laughter as Bob practically walks her to the other side of the room to where Naomi is doubled over in laughter.
Kim can’t stop smiling and laughing herself, she loves it when Naomi has as much fun as she does. She wishes all of them could be like this all the time, happy and carefree. She knows it’ll never happen, but that won’t ever stop her from hoping. As a kid she was told to wish on a star, and for whatever reason she still believes that wish will come true. One day, maybe not anytime soon, but she can wait. She has more patience than Bob at least.
“Oh my God my cheeks hurt!” Naomi gasps out, reaching out to pull Kim into her arms, effectively freeing Bob to go back to finishing her dish for the potluck.
Kim grins at Naomi, “Okay, but you can let go of me now.”
Naomi gasps, scandalized, “Never! I will never let you go!”
“And IIIIIIiiiIIIIII-” Tiana pipes up, appearing out of nowhere, purposefully singing ‘I Will Always Love You’ as shittily as she can manage.
“Someone save me!” Kim groans dramatically, tossing her head back against Naomi’s shoulder.
“Oh no, the awful reality of having people who care about you,” Naomi bemoans along with her.
“I just came here for the food and now I have to put up with all of this too,” Kim adds, pouting as pathetically as she can.
“Physical affection? How evil,” Bob rolls her eyes, taking the pot off the stove with her back turned to her friends, making it impossible for the three of them to see what exactly she chose to make. Kim definitely has her suspicions.
There’s a rapid knocking on the door, and Kim takes advantage of a startled Naomi. She worms out of her best friend’s arms and speeds over to the door, right on Tiana’s heels. Unfortunately, Tiana still beats her to it and is the one to open the door for Monet.
“The party can now begin,” Monet announces brightly, cocking her hand on her hip.
Monet looks incredible as always, but only has a heavy, black plastic bag in her hand, two glass bottles peaking out. The group exchanges greetings and light hugs all over again, and Kim is excited to finally get to the main event of the evening now that the last member of their little group is here. Monet roughly sets her bag down on the dining room table next to the plastic grocery store bag that Tiana brought.
Bob comes in from the kitchen carrying a red casserole dish covered in aluminum foil, the smell of whatever it is Bob has made making her mouth water. One glance at her friends confirms they’re all eager for this last ‘hoorah’ of sorts to begin too. Each of them takes a seat at the dining room table, all of them making a comment of some kind about their excitement, and Kim feels at home in a way she only does when she’s with them.
Bob stands up at the head of the table and clears her throat dramatically, and Kim knows they are all about to be in for a treat.
“Friends, sisters, Monet,” Bob starts, ignoring Monet’s chuckle of protest, “We have come here today to rub shit in each other’s faces, celebrate the end of the school year, and eat way too much food. Without further ado, I present to you my dish, the world’s best motherfucking mac n’ cheese to ever grace the face of this  goddamn planet.”
She dramatically lifts the foil off of her casserole dish, revealing said mac n’ cheese. Kim definitely can admit that it does look good, but she’s still skeptical it will hold up against everything she brought.
“Girl, that is the most predictable thing of all time,” Monet says, rolling her eyes.
Bob crosses her arms over her chest, clearly unamused, “Says the bitch who only brought alcohol.”
“Okay well someone had to bring drinks,” Monet argues.
Kim glances at Naomi, and the two smile knowingly at each other. They’re both incredibly familiar with the fact that once those two get started it’s basically impossible to get them to stop.
“Well, what drinks did you bring?” Tiana asks, pulling the two girls out of what was most definitely going to be a ten minute long argument.
Monet stands up now, smiling proudly as she pulls the two bottles she brought out of the bag, “Today, I present for you all two timeless classics.”
Kim glances at the bottles, then quirks an eyebrow at Monet, “Three dollar champagne and the driest red wine you could find?”
  Monet stares at Kim blankly.
“Drag her ass, Kim!” Bob cackles.
“I will let you know that it is five dollar champagne, and that this red wine is a college student classic!” Monet frowns.
“How do you even get your hands on this stuff?” Kim asks, curious since none of them are the legal age to buy alcohol and yet they always seem to have it.
“Older friends,” Monet and Tiana say at the exact same time, causing the two to break into fits of laughter.
Naomi leans over to rest her head on Bob’s shoulder, “In just a couple months you’re going to be our older friend!”
“Oh, fuck you,” Bob laughs, pushing her away playfully.
As Monet takes her seat, Tiana stands up eagerly with her bag.
“I brought chips!” Tiana says cheerily and Kim can’t help giggling at her antics, “Barbeque, of course, and then extra spicy too.”
She dumps the bag out on the table, and Bob sighs dramatically, “Did any of you take this seriously?”
“I went all the way to Walmart for this,” Tiana pouts, crossing her arms over her chest.
“So boujee,” Kim smirks at her.
“Always,” she winks, playing along with Kim’s sarcasm.
Bob just groans and lays her head down on the table, “If all we have is sides and alcohol I’m not ordering pizza for y’all.”
Naomi pats Bob’s shoulder comfortingly, “You’re definitely going to be happy with what I brought.”
“I better be,” Bob says grumpily, though she perks up some when Naomi begins unpacking her tote bag.
Naomi first pulls out ice packs, and Kim is starting to get an idea of what Naomi has brought. Then she pulls out a plastic container with a label that Kim will always recognize, and even though it’s not homemade like Bob had wanted them to do, no one is going to be upset with this food choice.
“It’s sushi,” Naomi smiles brightly, and Kim melts from how precious she looks.
“At least it’s not another side dish,” Bob says, reaching out to grab the container from Naomi.
“Okay I’m really glad you brought that, we haven’t had it in forever,” Kim smiles at Naomi.
Naomi rolls her eyes affectionately, “We just had this, like, two weeks ago.”
“Forever!” Kim insists, unable to hold back her giggle.
“Alright, we get it, y’all have date night,” Monet says teasingly.
Kim and Naomi both whip their heads around to stare at her.
  “Uhh… That’s not…” Naomi stutters.
“If we have date nights then you and Monique are married,” Kim immediately shoots back in a last ditch attempt to get the attention off of whatever it is she has with Naomi.
“Of course we are,” Monet says pleasantly, “She’s my best boo.”
“What am I then? Chopped fucking liver, girl?” Bob asks, pretending to be wounded.
“Nah you’re just my annoying older sister.”
“Okay if anyone is the annoying one in this relationship it’s you,” Bob says, crossing her arms over her chest.
Tiana pouts, “When do I get to be annoying?”
“Oh, honey,” Kim murmurs sympathetically, reaching across the table to hold her hand, “You already are.”
All of them start laughing, the playful nature of the group warm and familiar in a way that’s completely unique to their little group. It’s not something Kim has ever had before, she’s not even sure she’s had anything that’s ever come close to this. She doesn’t want it to ever end.
“Alright, Kim, your turn. And then we can finally have dinner,” Bob says, grabbing Kim’s travel bags and handing them to her.
Kim stands up to easily maneuver the bags, “Well… I may have gone a little overboard.”
“This is why I love you,” Bob smiles, excitedly leaning forward to see what she pulls out.
“Okay so I made some Jeyu Bokkeum, and also some vegetarian Bibimbap, and then a really traditional Doenjang Jjigae,” Kim trails off, holding up each container of food as she says the names.
“I’m going to pretend to know what any of that means,” Monet grins, “I’m just ready to eat.”
“I know what all of that is,” Tiana says proudly.
“She is smart after all,” Bob says teasingly.
As Naomi gets up with Monet to get plates, cups, and cutlery, Kim revels in this small family she’s managed to make for herself. Things haven’t always been easy for her, especially with lasting relationships, but this feels solid and real. She won’t let this go, not without a fight. She loves all four of these girls intensely, she loves that she has people to love. The five of them are going to be okay, she knows it in her heart. Especially here at this tiny dining room table, in this little apartment, sharing a piece of herself with them.
