This is my fan character Nimaiya Fuyuki. She is the sister of Ōetsu Nimaiya and a ghost member of the 12th Division. She has been a member of 12th ever since it was created, so she has seen all the captains it has had so far. Not much is known about her since the Head Captain sends her usually for long missions that can take centuries...and those missions are top secret ones. Despite this, she seems to know EVERYBODY and their secrets! Luckily she just likes to have fun~. Much to Mayuri's displeasure...(They have a love-hate relationship since Fuyuki just loves to piss of Mayuri yet she also loves him [secretly]. Poor Mayuri, back in the day when Urahara Kisuke was captain both he and Fuyuki just made his life living-hell...no wonder the guy has issues.)

I wanted to try to portray in this picture how positive and fun-loving (plus mischievous) a person Fuyuki is. She is dressed up in a little bit modernized waitress outfit (those black ribbons are actually suspenders), yet somehow seems that piece of cake will never make its way to the person whom it's supposed to get it...

1. Weirdly enough, I never really thought about Kaede’s favorite color, lol! Hmm…shades of violet. Especially the more blue-leaning ones. Or extremely dark blue, because it reminds her of the night - especially as seen in, say, a desert or tundra where there’s no light pollution to obscure the sky. The way the black of the sky gets washed with stars and galaxies…any color that comes from that.

18. Undies: Kaede tends to go braless - she has a smaller chest and can get away with that 😅 Lower down, it depends on her clothes and what she’s doing. Ie, she’ll sometimes indulge in pretty lace/silk items, but for the most part, she goes for a mix of comfort and function. Cotton bikini/briefs, seamless bikini or thong if she’s wearing something tighter.

28. She loves Miyazaki’s films for their beauty, music, and messages. Otherwise…it’s just a matter of whether an anime series catches her interest. She’s very much a visual artist herself and appreciates beautiful or interesting visual styles. I guess she’s more likely to be into artbooks of different mangaka than she is the series themselves :P

51. There are a lot of “folk” or “world” genres she likes - gamelan from Indonesia, Celtic flutes, Indian sitar…she gravitates toward music that invokes places and feelings, especially ones with long histories, and often listens to it while she’s painting.

Mayuri of all people getting so much positive focus in the last arc is still baffling to me. I know he's the author's fave and lots of ppl like him bcs he's *quirky*, and i just don't get it at all. He's horrible and insulting towards Nemu and genuinely unpleasant, he //should// have gotten his commeuppance with the Quincies (ik Yhwach does't really care and Uryu let the affair go but still, dude is still a shinigami Mengele, he still tortured a bunch of quincies and brutalized Uryu's grandfather, and that NO quincy whatsoever came after him reeks of favouritism) and while yeah, he restored the stolen bankais, I don't get how his science gimmick personnality is supposed to be endearing enough to absolve him of the awful stuff he stoll does as a guy on the morally good side (Szayel was awful, what Mayuri did to him is still monstrous and far worse than a lot of villains have done), dude has so little growth. Uryu should have killed him or at least seriously wounded him, as retribution or as a means to prove his loyalty to Yhwach/Jugram, or *something* so Mayuri doesn't just get to /walk free/ and get served his narrative desserts. I genuinely thought Nemu's arc was going to learn how to free herself of him and gain autonomy and independence, and to see where it ends is really disappointing for her. She deserves so much better.

I think I'll have more to say on the Nemu side of things later, so I'll hold back on that for now.

But as concerns Mayuri, I mostly agree with you. My one point of difference would be to suggest that I don't think his personality is supposed to "absolve" him of his moral depravity-- the story has stayed pretty clear in painting him as a bad person, and I think you're supposed to hold that in your head at the same time as he's fighting for the (alleged) good guys. Done well, you could even see it tying into the moral ambiguity in the conflict that has been infrequently raised throughout the arc.

But where the story gets into trouble, I think, is in Mayuri's presentation. He's such a quirky and interesting character, and has so much of the author's soul in him, and the story just sort of coasts on that? It would be one thing his objectively entertaining presence were examined in the story as something that allowed him to abuse his power. But the critical eye just isn't there. And contrary to Carneades, I think we can know enough of virtue to know this isn't it.

And perhaps, in a work that is intended for the youth, it might not be the best idea to make a person so morally bankrupt the de facto protagonist of a battle.

Ulquihime Week Day 3: Scandal.

"Stand back, Inoue."

Perhaps Orihime had been in Las Noches too long. Surrounded by strong warrior women who fought their own battles, who were expected to contribute, for whom weakness and passivity was not allowed. They were often smaller in stature than their male counterparts, but they had teeth and claws and weapons of their own.

And it may have been that which caused Ichigo's command to send an unpleasant prickle up the back of her neck. He stood not ten feet away, squaring off against Ulquiorra, her hollow captor. And yet, it was Ulquiorra's eyes that slid over to hers, steadily holding her gaze with an unspoken challenge. She swayed a little on her feet. Really, she must have been away from the human world too long.

"I won't," she whispered, and then, gathering strength, she repeated herself. "I won't."

Ichigo looked over his shoulder at her. "What?"

She continued to hold Ulquiorra's gaze. "We're wasting time," she said. Her feet carried her forward until she stood between Ichigo and Ulquiorra, closer to the latter than the boy she'd spent months obsessing over. "When I came to Hueco Mundo, I swore that I would reject the hougyoku and stop Aizen-sama myself. And that's what I intend to do." She looked at Ichigo's stunned face, then back at Ulquiorra. "Will you stop me?" she asked him. "You are disobeying Aizen-sama by not letting me go, so I suspect you're only following his orders to defend Las Noches because there's something here you want to protect."

His green eyes widened almost imperceptibly.

"If you really want to protect Las Noches, come with me," Orihime continued. "Lend me your sword, and we can save this world together."

"Inoue!" Ichigo cried, but she ignored him. Somehow, over time, the black sky and white sands had become a part of her, too.

Ulquiorra had maintained his grip on his sword throughout the conversation, still ready to fight Ichigo if need be. But now he released the weapon, slipped his hands back into his pockets, and regarded her with open interest. "You are a strong woman, indeed," he murmured.

Orihime smiled, brimming with confidence, and turned to Ichigo, whose mouth opened and closed in silent shock. "All right, let's help Ishida-kun escape Yammy and then get out of here!"

Renji Haters Are Not Bleach Fans!

My brain is trying to mathematically make sense of how someone who claims to be a Bleach super fan, a certified Kubo dick rider and someone who has consumed every ounce of “Peak Fiction” (Bleach) content written by Kubo himself, can simultaneously be the biggest Renji hater. It makes no sense to me. You cannot POSSIBLY think that Kubo is the best fiction author when Renji is ONE of the characters that shows off his writing skills the most, WITHOUT “plot armor” (looking at you Soul Reaper, Quincy, Hollow, Bout ICHIGO KUROSAKI!). You disregard all of that simply because “he can’t fight”. You cannot possibly think Kubo is the best writer to ever exist when he’s explained on multiple occasions as to why Renji is “weak”. You cannot POSSIBLY think that Renji is “useless” when Kubo himself CHOSE to make Renji one of Ichigo’s right hand men. It’s like you skipped the ENTIRE SERIES!! I get not liking Renji, he’s not everyone’s cup of tea and that’s fine, but to straight up be a hater is downright outrageous in my opinion. Smh…some of y’all need a good rewatch and to actually pay more damn attention to what you’re watching. Renji hate is so overplayed at this point. Unfortunately I don’t think his big TYBW moment will change some of the brainless Bleach fan’s opinions. 🙄

I could go into so much more detail about how Renji showcases Kubo’s skills the most but it would be difficult putting it into words. The video I’ve linked below does an amazing job of breaking down Renji’s character. I highly recommend this person’s channel for any Bleach fans who enjoy learning more about the series and characters they love so much!

So the Blazar stageshow has a dark and evil Blazar clone and like, yeah this image is low quality, but the silhouette is giving me chills. The poor posture, Blazar defeated on the ground- This isn’t some victory or triumph. This was a beast acting out and now it’s looking over its prey.
