Last: Master and Apprentice by Claudia Gray. There were a few details that I needed to check for the story I'm writing. I guess I could have read the section but I reread the whole thing. No regrets.

Current: I'll be completely honest, the DSM V for work. I have to brush up on diagnostic criteria and changes between version IV and V. I used to belong to a book club, where we would meet up once a month but that hasn't happened lately so all I've been reading is work related stuff.

Next: on August 29th, the newest From a Certain Point of View , Return of the Jedi

comes out in book stores. I live overseas and will actually be in the United States for this. Cheers to everyone in my hometown of Phoenix. I am going to make an event out of this and physically go to the bookstore, grab a coffee and buy this book. This is a huge thing for me. I don't have to preorder in English weeks in advance... I'm super excited. Hubs and my son don't get it but I will totally try to win them over that the bookstore cafe is a sacred place.

So, tumblr decided to work and I’ve saved at least several blogs that I was no longer interested in running, esspecially the Sleepy Hollow and Blacklist blogs.

I’m particularly glad to be rid of that Star Wars blogs for Finn (hisnameisfinn). I’ll probably keep blackwomeninstarwars up though. Low maintenance, and I’m honestly more invested in that blog than I ever was for the others.

There's this consensus that the ne'er-do-wells of whiteness are prone and prefer to minimize blogs centered on Blackness, or non-Blackness, and have no issue with posts discussing or referencing anti-Blackness in hobby spaces, as "discourse blogs".

But, from experience, there are (Black) folks outside the confines of whiteness who have no problem calling a blog like Black Women in Star Wars a "discourse blog", just because it highlights the discrepances of the franchise and its anti-Blackness as well as circulating content focusing on the little celebrated Black characters.

And it's like all I can do to reframe from saying "get your head out of your ass". Y'all have got to stop to engaging in the dismissive language that whiteness employs on this website.

I never felt one way or another about it, but, yeah, the Obi-Wan Kenobi show was really good. Actually managed to surpass the general lack of expectations I didn’t have.

Reva Sevander was definitely one of the best parts about the story aside from Leia’s dynamic with Ben. Fills my heart with glee to see Baltimorean Moses Ingram playing to such heights (esp after The Tragedy of Macbeth).
